Hello, welcome back to the channel and this is a channel where we give you reviews, playthroughs, unboxings, and we generally like to talk a lot about tabletop gaming in general. And in this video, we're going to be counting down our top 10 racing games of all time. And remember, if your top 10 racing games aren't on this list, that's because a we haven't played them or b we think they're completing our dog [ __ ] So remember, if you're new here, then please consider subscribing to this channel, hit the like button, all that YouTube [ __ ] See you after this, Bollocks. So, this is our countdown of our top 10 racing games. A couple of things before we start. We're not going to be talking about any horse racing games here. We're not going to be talking about games like Winner Circle, Horse Fever, Longot, or any of that sort of [ __ ] We're going to be talking about games where you are racing to get to the finish line. Not like betting games like Camelop and all that [ __ ] Right, got that.

Number 10 on this list is a dice rolling racing game called Cubitos or Cubitos or whatever the [ __ ] it is. In Cubos, you will be rolling a load of dice and you will be pushing your luck rolling the dice to try and get more symbols into your active play area. If at any time you roll all blanks, then you will bust, but you'll get a couple of little bonuses just for the sake of it, right? And then you will use the symbols on your dice to do stuff. You'll be able to use the feet symbol to move. And then you'll be able to use the coin symbols to buy more dice that will give you better special abilities. All the while, you'll be trying to navigate around the course. You might be able to get a special ability that will allow you to walk on water, right? You might be able to pick up a load of coins on your way around. Of course, it will give you a leg up over your opposition. Kubio does have a bit of a wacky theme, right? And only plays under four players, but that is going to be rectified with the foul play expansion that is allegedly due to be released next year sometime. Right.

It does have a few shortcomings. Obviously, being a dice based game, it does have a lot of random luck elements, but it's still a blast and we love it. So number nine on our list of our top 10 racing games of all time is a game that is designed by Bruno Kafala and sees you race around the island of Jamaica. It's Jamaica, you [ __ ] idiots. In this game, you'll be rolling two dice. You'll choose whether to put one in the day slot and the other one in the night slot. And then the numbers on the dice will determine the strength of the actions that you get when you play a card from your hand. Right? You'll be able to buy guns that will allow you to blow other players. You'll have to get food to feed your crew, right? and you'll be able to get gold that will allow you to pay a penalty when you land on a certain spot. There's also Pirates Coast where you can get booty, right? And you'll be racing around the island trying to get to Port Royal before your opponents, right? This game is lavishly produced. It does have a stupid map that was designed by a completely [ __ ] with.

But if you add in the crew expansion, it gives you even more options. Was a second edition. We haven't played it because generally speaking, not all the time, but generally speaking, we don't buy games that we already own. But Jamaica is a lavishly produced beast of racing. Right. Number eight on this list is a game that is a cycling game. It is Flam Rouge. In this game, you'll be playing cards from your hand to move your cyclist forward, but you're going to have two cyclists, right? Each of these cyclist acts a little bit different. You'll be playing cards on one or the other. You'll be trying to navigate different types of terrain. You've got the pellet on expansion. It adds a six player and adds even more bits and bobs. And then there's the meteoro expansion which adds weather conditions and all that sort of stuff. Flam Rouge is quite a strategic game and if you're playing with six players it gets really really crowded on the courses which adds to the level of chaos right it's like a card-based version of the German classic rifle right which was a roll of move game right but this uses cards instead it's got that 60s to the France feel to it right one of the reasons we like this so much is because it's quick if this was a long drawn out affair then it will be going straight into the recycle bin but as such it's a light game that we can just drag out have a couple of games on and then throw it back on the shelf Right.

So, number seven on this list is a game that I like to play and my kids. My kids adore this game. It is called Dino Race. Yeah, funny enough, this was designed by Aries Games, the same company that make War of the Ring, but it's got nothing in common with watering apart from a big [ __ ] off volcano. Right. In this game, you'll be playing cards from your hand to move onto different types of terrain. At a certain point in the game, then the volcano will explode, and you'll be systematically turning over tiles that you have already laid behind you. This means that the volcano will eventually catch up to your dinosaur miniatures, which by the way are absolutely [ __ ] adorable. There's also a nice little random element that can be mitigated if you roll on the die and that will throw a spanner into the works. But so far as Kitty's racing games go, this is one of the best, if not the best. Looks absolutely fantastic. Kids love it. And because they love it, I love it.

So number six on this list is a granddaddy of racing games now. And it is Formula D or the original Formula D. Right. It makes no [ __ ] difference whatsoever. Unless you got a problem with that. This is a roll and move game. Yes, it's a roll and move game, but [ __ ] it. I don't care. Right. In this game, you will be using different custom dice to move your car forward. You roll the dice and you'll move that number of spaces forward. Right. Yeah, I know. It's horrible, isn't it? But the thing that makes this game great is that each corner means there's a number on each corner and the number determines how many times you've got to stop in a certain section, right? So, you got to sort of plan ahead and think, well, you don't want to be in high gear when you're going around a tier three corner, right? In the later version, they also threw in some street racing stuff, right? There's an extra board on there. You got some characters to mess about with. And one of the things we don't like about it is that the advanced rules can get a little bit fiddly, right? And they get a little bit confusing for my P-siz brains. So, we generally play with just the basic version. But Formula D plays up to eight players, I think. Hang on. No, [ __ ] hell. It plays out of 10 players, right? So, you can have basically a party game, isn't it? This is one of the best rolling move games out there. So, even though you'll be rolling dice to move, I give [ __ ] So number five on this list is a game by Ron Kenichi. It is the race to El Dorado. This is a deck building racing game, right? You'll start the game with a basic hand of cards and you'll be using the treasure cards to buy extra cards from a display into your hand, right? And then you'll be playing cards from your hand to move on certain terrain. So if you play a machete, you'll be able to move onto a machete space. If you play an or card, then you'll be able to move onto water.

There's also the possibility of buying in cards that give you special abilities. And you can stop in a cave and get a special bonus along the way. Right, this game is always tight. I think the last video I made about this, I boasted that I had never lost this game, but as is life. I recently lost my first game of this and I'm not happy. But it doesn't matter, right? Because it's a novel racing game. It never gets old. There's a couple of expansions for it that add even more stuff, right? So if you like debt building and you like racing games, then this is a nobrainer. So number four on this list is a lessernown title called Power Boats. Right. In power boats, you'll be using these weird shaped dice to move around these boys that are on the board. Not those sort of boys, but like the floaty ones. Yeah, this is a fantastic example of minimalist design. Right. The components are complete and utter [ __ ] The board looks boring. The plastic power boats are really, really fiddly and the dice are just like weird. It's like they've been beamed down from some sort of alien world. The thing that makes this game great, you are forced into making crazy decisions, right? you can add to your dice pool, which means your power boat is going to be going faster. Or you can take dice away from your pool, but you can't do that before you roll them, right? So depending on what you roll, that's how far your power boat is going to move, right? And you got to decide which way you're going to turn before you roll the dice. So it might be the case that you add dice to your pool and then you roll them, you go further than you wanted to, and you end up crashing into a dark island. Power boats is an absolutely fantastic laugh.

It is so funny watching your opponents push their luck too far and turn their power boat into a pile of [ __ ] And I suppose it's funny them watching you do the same thing, right? So I don't even know if you can get hold of this now. If you can find it, it's well worth a look. So number three on this list is a game that was released like last year sometime. It's heat pedal to the metal. People were wanking each other off when this was released. Yeah, there was like a collective orgasm in the board gaming community when this first come out, right? And I suppose it is sort of justified cuz it is a pretty good laugh. It's like the spiritual successor to Flam Rouge in a sense. You will be playing cards from your hand onto a board like you do in Flam. And in fact, I think it's designed by maybe one of the same geysers that did Flam Rouge. But the idea is to cycle heat through your deck. Heat is bad, but it's also good at the same time cuz it allows you to turbocharge your engine and move further than you ordinarily would. The basic game of heat is good enough, right? But the designers are throwing in loads and loads of stuff. You got upgrades for your car. You could play three-year racing season. And the insert tantalizingly teases the option of an eight player which may or not come to fruition later on next year. So yeah, Heat Pedal to the Metal doesn't really break too much new ground, but it is still an exciting racing game that I'll play anytime anywhere.

Number two on this list of our top 10 racing games of all time is a dexterity game that we have been banging on about since the cows have come home. It's Pitchkar. In this game, you will be flicking a disc around an MDF track and you'll just be trying to come it in first. Right. There's a few rules to deal with if your disc flies off or if it turns over upside down or if you knock another disc off of the track, but essentially the main draw this comes from the expansions that are available. There are billions of expansions. You got a loop the loop expansion which sadly we missed out on. It was one of them Kickstarter ripoffs. You got tunnels to go through. You've even got a stunt track which raises the track above the table. Yeah. Pitch cart is such a simple idea. Just be flicking a disc around the track. Yeah. Does take up a lot of space if you've got all the expansions. We've got ours in a big [ __ ] off box down by my foot. And me being a completely out of [ __ ] I have dropped it on my foot on occasions. Yeah. Pitch car is a classic. Right. If you haven't got this in your collection, then you may as well write [ __ ] right across here.

So, number one on our list of our top racing games of all time. And the greatest racing game ever made is Ave Caesar. Right, Ave Caesar is a metaphor for stripping all of the nonsense and all of the [ __ ] out of your life and basically just living in a box. Ave Caesar, you got to get a deck of cards. You're going to be drawing three cards. Choose a card and you'll move that number of spaces forward. But the thing that makes this game great is that there are choke points on the board where only one player can go. So if somebody occupies that choke point and you haven't got the card that's going to allow you to move right up to their ass, then you're not going to be able to move, right? So you're going to be a turn behind. If you add to this the fact that you're going to have to shove a coin up Caesar's alley at some point during the race, but not on the third lap, then that also adds a level of strategy in this game. Yeah, Caesar was recently reprinted by Dice Tree Games in an attempt to revive this classic title.

It was a bit of a mixed bag, right? You know, the board was a little bit smaller than the old Ravensburgger version and the car quality wasn't that great. Yeah, it used these blackboarded cars that are going to get damaged the more you play it, right? But it did give you more options with the tracks. There's eight different tracks that you can create and there's loads and loads of variants included in that version, right? So, I suppose it is the definitive version if you are looking for this one. But Ave Caesar is another great example of minimalist design. And sometimes you don't want these [ __ ] flashy miniatures games, do don't want Seymour to get hold of the classic games and spunk a load of miniatures all over the board. So yeah, that's why Arve Caesar is the best racing game ever made. So you go, that is our top 10 racing games of all time. Remember, if your top 10 racing games weren't on this list, that's because a we ain't played them or b they're complete and utter dog [ __ ] But remember, if you're new here, then please consider subscribing to this channel, hit the like button, all that YouTube [ __ ] See you next time.
