Today we're going to play Bloom Kingdoms, published by Pegasus Spiele, designed by Christian Kudahl and Thomas Weber, with art by Kukudul. This game is a tableau um building game, but it's a shared tableau, and that shared tableau um is going to tell us how the last two cards in our hand are going to score. Um so each card has its own unique scoring condition. Uh the just uh and each card also has a unique um ability for when it is played. Um when you play cards, they have a number on the top, and so that's going to determine that that card is has that initiative. So this 26 wizard is going to play before this 29 wizard um because this allows you to move cards around.

Et cetera. Each card Each card has a an ability, and we'll go over those as we play as we play them. And they We're starting off with nine cards in our hand. Uh is it nine? I think it's nine. Um and we're going to play out um uh six cards in our hand. Nine cards is a different game. 1 2 3 4 5 6 So we'll be playing them out. Looking at our hand and trying to establish what we're going to keep for the end game scoring. So if I look at my hand here, um these don't do so well.

Um if I look at the scoring conditions on the bottom of these, these kind of go together, so I might keep these ones and try and get them to play out. So I'm going to privately lay down one card that I'm going to play, and Steve will do the same. And then we're going to execute the actions on the card. So the jester will you can add it to any column, the unicorn will you'll get to draw a card and then discard a card. The knight lets you slay a dragon. Uh those are scoring. The wizard will let you remove remove any one card. Uh and the fortune teller will let you peek at one card in my opponent's hand. The rest of them are all how it's going to score at the end of the game if you have those cards in your hand.

Um

Okay, so no initiative, so it just goes up.

Mhm.

And no initiative, so it just goes up. Okay? Um so now Steve's got a dragon in there. I could play a knight to slay that dragon cuz he might have a card that's trying to get to score the dragons, and I might have a card that's trying to get to score queens. Um I'm going to play this card. Okay. So, this is just a farmer. It just goes up. It does nothing. And you have a king, so it just goes up and does nothing. Okay, and then now I'm going to play

this one, I guess.

Yes.

Okay, so this just goes up cuz it does no initiative, and it goes onto the kings. Um okay, so I'm going to play this. Or no, I'm going to play this.

Mhm.

Okay. This one [snorts] has no initiative, it just goes up.

This goes here.

All right, so now the last two cards in our hand, we're going to score them. Lay out your hand.

Okay.

Okay, so I have a jester. Um so, if there is at least one king among my opponent's scoring cards, I get four victory points per king, and there is. So, cuz Steve wants to score kings. So, um, I then get to do that twice. So, there's eight here and twice is 16. So, I'm getting 16 points. You got to log that in my app. We played operation Barclay. Steve. Wrong Steve. And I won. And now we are playing

Oh, and we also played collect. Steve. Steve won. And now we're playing blue kingdom. Steve. And the sheet. Okay, so round one, eight and eight. Okay, so your two cards, you have a king.

Okay.

So, as long as there's not a jester in my hand, which there is, you would have got four per king. So, I canceled out your king scoring, so that's a zero.

trap door. Okay.

No, if there's no jester among opponent's scoring cards,

Okay.

four VP per king, but because there is that money it doesn't explode. Okay, and then do you have merchant or the noble? If there are at least as many farmers as nobles, which there are, four VP per noble, so you get four points.

Okay. Okay.

Okay, so now the engine aspect, these two cards will go away out of the game, but the tableau stays the same. So, now it's going to be scoring slightly different.

Okay, so this is pretty good given the current tableau. And then this is not that great. So, I think I'll play this one.

Let me fix your mic. It's falling off your ear. Just take it off and bend the back. That should be spring loaded. It's still really loose. You have tiny ears.

Yes.

And tiny little legs. You don't need to do that part. Just the ear part. Whatever. Play your card.

So, are we scoring by what's left in your hand? Not what's out here?

What's out here is what's how what's left in your hand is going to score. We're creating the scoring conditions that these execute upon. So, when you got four per noble, that's dependent on there being as many But, least as many farmers as nobles. So, if there's more nobles, the nobles wouldn't score. And if you have the dragon ones, there needs to be dragons, etc.

Plus, this art is really pretty. They're all flowers turned into characters. Oh, you're playing cards face down. Oh. Come on. Okay, so your dragon goes up immediately cuz it's nothing. This kills a dragon. Okay, now I'm going to I'm going to play this one. Okay, your dragon goes up automatically. This is the jester. I'm going to put him on the noble card.

So, what does that mean? Two nobles?

Yes, there's two nobles and two farmers now.

Um, I'm going to go with that. Okay, I'm going to pick this guy.

Okay, 22 and 23. So, mine goes first. I get to remove any card. I'm going to remove a dragon.

Yeah, all right. I got it.

Yep.

Okay, what does that mean?

You get to remove any card.

Okay, I'm going to remove this farmer.

Okay, 38.

Okay, 28.

So, mine goes first. I'm adding this to

And it's 28. there. It's a new one. So, that's the fortune teller, so you get to look at a card in my hand. But, it's not very useful because they're both about to score. All right, score for for a weak king. Um No, because I don't have a king in my hand. The jester if there's at least one king among your opponents scoring, which there's not. You had to determine whether or not I was going to be trying to score kings. And your other one is the queen, which is king queen pairs, which we both did. So, that's three six points for both of us for that one. And then this other one, I did the farmer.

If there are at least as many farmers as knights. So, there are as many at least as many farmers as knights. Right? Or

There's one of each, so yes.

At least farmers are greater than or equal to knights. Yeah, okay. So, then I get three points per farmer, so that's three six points. Okay, and then last round.

You get a card.

Uh this is a jester, so I'm going to make him this be more knights.

Okay. Um Unicorn.

Okay.

Okay. Oh, oops. I didn't do my guy. I was supposed to draw a card and then discard a card. And now I draw a card and discard a card. Okay, and now I'm going to play this.

Okay, I want to keep this and this. I'm going to play this.

Oh.

Okay.

Is this so?

Okay, so we both scored the queens, which is Paris. That's 3 6 9 for each of us. And then I scored dragons, so that's eight for me, and then you're scoring farmers.

Uh farmers and knights.

If there are at least as many farmers as knights, yep.

and two.

Two and two. Three victory points per farmer, so that's six. Okay, so 45 to 25.

Oh.

That's the whole game. Shuffle thoroughly because you're creating like stacks. That is Bloom Kingdom. I really like this one. I love these short dinky card games.

Okie dokie. Time is it now?

11:59
