  • Scales well from 2 to 6 players.
  • The rotational dice in multiplayer keeps player order in flux and prevents targeting.
  • Quirky, silly fun that doesn't overstay its welcome.

Mechanics (from transcript analysis)
  • Action Point Allowance — Players use 'energy' to buy upgrade cards and 'boost tokens' provide extra movement beyond regular programmed movement.
  • board scaling — The game board size and insert pieces change based on the number of players to accommodate scaling from 2 to 6 players.
  • Dice Rolling — Dice are rolled to determine where new crew members are placed on the board, adding an element of randomness.
  • Player Elimination (implied) — While not explicitly stated as elimination, stealing opponent's pieces is a core mechanic that reduces their ability to win.
  • Programmed movement — Players program their movement, choosing between a controlled number (2 or 3) or a more flexible card (0-5).
  • Set Collection — Players need to collect specific crew members ('positions'/'people') to fill their spacecraft to escape.
  • Take That — Players can steal opponent's pieces ('crew members') by crashing into them.
  • Turn order manipulation — A rotational dice is used in games with more than two players to determine player order (clockwise or counterclockwise) each round.
  • Variable player powers — Players can acquire upgrade power-up cards that provide permanent special abilities for the rest of the game.

Quotes (from this video)
  • Crash and Grab is a light action programming game where you're trying to win by collecting crew members in each of the four locations around the sides of your UFO.
  • The rotation die adds chaos to the game because you might be going clockwise, you might be going counterclockwise.
  • There is no limit to the number of upgrades you can have on your ship.
  • The upgrades are so powerful that almost never were we choosing this other movement card.
  • I loved this rotation die.
  • The artwork is silly.
  • This is Kickstarter preview, so things might change, rules might change, components might change.
  • We had a lot of laughs playing this game.
