Quotes (from this video)
  • Hey everybody, I'm Tom Vasel. Welcome to Week In Review, where we go past back over the past week and uh we talk about all the different videos we did.
  • I reviewed West Story, which I gave a five out of 10 to.
  • This is one of those games uh like Space Base uh in which you are rolling dice and then everybody gets something off of the little town they've built in front of themselves.
  • It has this one really cool concept, which uh has to do with where you are on the score track around the board. Uh matters it it it denotes and delineates what you may affect on the board, which is neat.
  • I reviewed The Dwarves of Alfhelm, which I gave an eight out of 10 to. This is a 1.5 uh version of uh Nidavellir and I like this better.
  • Nidavellir I thought was a little had this one great idea mechanically, in which you're using these upgradeable tokens to simultaneously bid on things, but you get better ones, you get to manipulate things. Great.
  • I reviewed a couple of new packs for Summoner Wars second edition.
  • And one of those two got a 10 out of 10.
  • Hey everyone, it's Chris time. This week I took a look at five games.
  • Blorp, I give a five. That Blorp was It's a tiling game, kind of like Carcassonne, but you're building your own area. It's a little bit too strange, and the scoring's not fun for the amount of of effort and work.
  • Zombie Princess, I give a 6.5. I think it's actually more of a six. I wish I liked this one as a follow-up to Rebel Princess, a trick-taking game wherein you are trying to bid and hit that number of bids, but there's also so many wacky effects I don't think that it blends well and has a convoluted scoring.
  • It's fun, I enjoy it. It's not good enough, so a six I said point five. Six. I'm changing it to a six, I'm

Quotes (from this video)
  • We are 10 days away from UK Games Expo.
  • And I wanna give you some tips and tricks and show you the 10 games I'm most excited for.
  • First up, Sashi and Sashi's new railway porters.
  • This is a collaboration with Fabio Lapiano.
  • Ghost Live with a huge hit at Spiel.
  • This was called Fetching Feathers.
  • I love Plate games.
  • Who is also a trans designer, and I'm really happy to help support there.
  • I have decided I'm not gonna buy this one because I bought it already.
  • Really cool take on trick-taking game where you're gonna be assigning the value to the cards, and the cards don't have a value on them, so you get two different spots there.
  • This is kind of my wild card.
  • So that is my little floor planter there, but in addition to what is not on the website is where you can get all the food from over at the NEC.
  • The UK is pretty much card exclusive most of the places, but at the convention, if you're gonna go into the Bring and Buy, or if you are going to go into some of the Asian stalls, you're going to need some cash.
  • It's the largest in the UK, and it is possibly, it's either third or fourth largest in the world.
  • So I needed to bring a fan.
  • So when you're packing, make sure that you are packing some shorts and some light flowy T-shirts.
  • I wanna play all of the games with all of you.

Quotes (from this video)
  • It's a very small box. Doesn't take up much shelf space.
  • but it definitely hits above its weight.
  • this is not one that makes you insanely powerful and you know just kind of like you know you know does uh you know power inflation, power creep like so many expansions I'm seeing these days that just like kind of fundamentally upset the balance of the original game.
  • Minos is a long beast of a game.
  • I would not play Emberleaf without this expansion. It is excellent. It's a simple little tweak, but it's a mustave.
  • It turns the whole game cooperative, which I got to say I love.
  • And I just got to say folks, it is freaking brilliant.
  • The Networks Prime Time is the Networks with all the rough edges shaved off
  • it becomes so laidback and chillax
  • But this game does that better than any other Machioro inspired game, including Machi Koro itself ever has. It destroys all of them, including Space Base.
  • it is by far the coolest implementation of a victory point track that the board game industry has ever seen. It is literally the best of class of all time.
  • This is an expansion that just makes um, Evenf Fall, a very hard name to remember, Evenfall, deeper and richer.
  • Every year, like clockwork, the publishers come out with a new brilliant expansion, and every year it's my number one thing of that month, and System Overload is no different.
  • it introduces a new idea and you can see it there on the screen. If you look over in the bottom right of the screen on the boss I'm fighting, there's a die there. Don't worry, you never roll that dice. That die is your intensity marker.
  • Evenfall was in my top 10 for the year. It came out a few years ago. I think it's absolutely amazing.
  • It is so deep and it's so rich because it borrows an idea from one of my all-time faves, Allesium.
  • The best one are these cute Everybody gets this cute little cat that's a little wooden cat that literally hangs off of a wooden hat of one of your little wooden witches and it's the cutest thing you've ever seen.
  • it comes with new mages that somehow come up with completely new and interesting ideas that we still have never seen before.
  • This is a simple little set of rules that really creates a new and interesting dynamic shifting element that is just a lot of fun.
  • It's the best thing I played in the month of May. Aon's end system overload.
