Hey everybody, I'm Tom Vassal and welcome to look back where I take a look at uh reviews that I did last year, five years ago, 10 years ago, and 20 years ago this very week and tell you what I think about the games now if I think about them at all. So, let's go back 20 years ago. I reviewed a game called Monster Dice which was a hey, you have these extra dice laying around, here's a game you can play with them. Thank you. Make it a good game, please. They did not. Four out of 10. Ugly Doll the card game. Now, this is based on the at the time, 20 years ago, very popular series of these Ugly Doll little toys that have just came back in 2024, I guess, and there was also a movie. Anyway, it was a fun little game, but it's for kids from game right. Six out of 10. 10 years ago I reviewed Back to the Future in Adventure Through Time. Now, even though this is designed by uh Matt Ben Pinchback and Matt Riddle who have done some really great games, this was a pretty bad game. It was convolutedly It was just was a mess, I thought. They were trying to do time travel. It didn't work. So, four out of 10.

Perspective, a game where you you're trying to guess the back of your cards sort of. For many in games and card games, it just didn't work out very well. Five out of 10. The Treasure of 13 Islands. This is where a kids game from HABA where you had a mask on your face and you would take a piece and move it around without falling and this stuff. Yeah, it works for kids. Six out of 10. 10 years ago Happy Salmon came out ruining the lives of many Eurogames at at conventions where the people next you just went bonkers. It is that kind of game, right? Fun to play, annoying to be near. Uh but it did really well. Came in that salmon package from North Star Games for a while and then it was sold now as mass market with a box, but it's a silly fun little game. Seven out of 10. And Suspend. Suspend has been out for a while here. Sometimes it's called Melissa and Doug Suspend cuz that's the company that made it. Comes in this really nasty tube which I don't love.

Though, I just saw it at the store now, it's in a box and I considered buying it just to get the box for the game. Uh but this is one we have set up at Dice Tower East. You're suspending these metal sticks and it's really cool looking and it's a good dexterity game. Eight out of 10. Five years ago I reviewed Drawn to Adventure. This was a little game that was included in one of Final Frontier's bigger games. A small little roll and write style game. It was fine. Okay. Six out of 10. 2491 Planet Ship. This was a remake, a science fiction remake of Estoril City of Spies. Unfortunately, I don't think the the space theme did much for it. That Estoril City of Spies 1941 was really cool. Um but it's still good game. Seven out of 10. Ghost Adventure, a game where you're manipulating tops. Spinning tops.

Why not? It's a cool fun gimmick. Seven out of 10. Uh Street Fighter the Miniatures Game. Hmm. Yeah, Street Fighter the Miniatures Game. Really cool miniatures. Just not a very good game. Yeah, the new movie's coming out. Street Fighter, I love Street Fighter. But not this game. Five out of 10. And Catapult Feud. The game that frankly is better than Crossbows and Catapults. It really is. This is a fun game smashing stuff. You know, launching things at each other. Really fun game. Eight out of 10. Last year, just one game. We were playing a lot of live stuff during this week last year, but we reviewed Figment which is a remake of Illusion. I really dislike the CMYK magenta boxes. But I still like this game. It's co-op which is not as fun, I think, as the competitive version of it. I think Illusion is better than Figment, but Figment was still pretty good. A 7.5.

And there you go, folks. Those are the games that I reviewed 1, 5, 10, and 20 years ago. Thanks for watching Look Back on the Dice Tower. I'm Tom Vassal. We'll see you next time.
