good morning afternoon evening everyone I'm Stella and this is Teran from nipple University and we are today playing sonic roll so it's Sonic the Hedgehog the board game or one of the iteration anyway the newest one from C entertainment who is going to provide the giveaway yes and welcome everyone whether you watch it live or not what we're going to do today is we're going to do an overview of the game and then we're going to play full play of Sonic roll and this is a Cooperative game yes it's Cooperative you can you can uh compete but we are can compete yes we're going to get we'll explain all of that we will and you you normally introduce me you were pausing for me to introduce myself very yeah I'll make you work actually make you work today and you're complaining all right Trevin from the chat hello Ben bitman Leo and Ryan all right so I'm gonna get back to the chat after the game overview shall we oh and we gon I'm gonna we're gonna also let everyone hello and how are you oh yeah fine weekend as far and all that stuff all that stuff oh thank you we have H subscribers I believe just pop up in in the chat oh no uh yes Billy herin welcome welcome to the university yeah how's everyone going how's everyone's weekend it is a hot day in Australia uh I'm trying to guess where
everyone is but I could not uh you are in Australia that is true uh well glad we got that out yes today gives us a good opportunity to reminisce about the classic side platform which Teran has played which I have Sonic 2 anyway okay so you never played Sonic one I have I have played Sonic one but Sonic 2 was the one we owned so I knew the cheat code to get to every level I got to practice have to practice every level and it's one of those few games on the old Sega Mega Drive which I used to enjoy so much uh which I have beaten from start to finish there weren't that many that I uh had had the patience to do that but Sonic 2 was one of them after yeah after using the cheater to jump ahead to various levels what is this that you keep talking about is it like really cheat Cod or there's a cheat cod in there that uh you go in see what I what I learned from the Sonic cheat code is um all the I could never understand why old console games they had like this sound test thing in the options where you could go in and you could like listen to all of the sounds and musics from the game it turned out that was uh where you went and entered the cheat code okay there was no other function for it so they must have built this in as a place where they could go and do cheat Cates and then when you put this
one in it would bring up a menu of which level would you like to go to a there you go so back in at Old Days chit code is something that I use as well for several of my games if I feel like like oh my gosh it's so hard like Heroes of M and Magic the video game there's a chit code you can just like install separate software you put it for unlimited money and stuff like that like you don't want to the key for is like you don't want to make everything is then it's not challenging anymore and then it's you get bored easily yeah everyone knew the Doom cheat codes like iddqd and one made you invincible one gave you like the best weapon so forth yeah this one this one just jumped you from level to anyway do we have it on our Xbox right now probably probably not I'm sure there's an emulator out there but it's not on Xbox it's only on Playstation maybe yeah but of course this was this was from the days before um there were before you could save games or before games go before games saved every 20 seconds like they do these days it's like amazing um I'm going to say hello quick quickly to adre adre oh yes Wonder Meo from Costa Rica we played with adre before I think it was just one the on B Marina H Rich hello great day in Buffalo I love Sonic yay Matty hello Matt uh my
favorite it's a favorite growing up oh that's amazing like that is I think I played a little bit but I think my favorite is um my God I can't remember what's what my favorite I play like a few and then a few dips in that but I'm never good at everything so I just start the first few levels and then move on first level and move on I'm just get frustrated after a while not je Derek hello also in Buffalo oh hello um that's awesome Maria hello are you all in the same room Maria Al herandez called he in Dallas Texas I always want to go there I only stop by four plane TR transfer yes yeah all right let's do this let's do the overview now before we start we actually using uh a special CLE series it's called clip sorry I just like undo it from the thing throw one off yeah sorry they interlock together they interlock together all right thank you so from the left of course so this is the one that was given to us by so that was actually originally Kickstarter so they just like send it the samples and it's like they have it on Amazon now which I'll have link below I think they're really cool components so there's like bat balls part and there's like card components and there's also card standy which you don't need card stand be very good for tries of the wind and there's also mini card trays as well
which don't fit this particular game yes all right let's get to seeing those while all right let's get to the all here all right so this is a the ice rolling game Sonic roll we are roll rolling us so every what we're doing uh we are playing the Green Hill Zone which as all uh Sonic fans know sounds like an opening level and has like looks it's the easiest one anyway and what we need to do I'm the mic one each turn we're going to roll some dice and we pick How We Roll those dice explain that in a minute but we roll a dice and we put one of them onto board on a matching number and then we roll the rest and we do it again and we keep going that's the core of it so we need to clear out all of the zones this represents a side scrolling on the uh on the platform game new cards will come out so we've got eight of them in a two player game and then once this deck is empty we'll flip this over and face the boss which is going to be egg Robo in this particular level and you defeat the boss in a similar way now as the uh as the game goes on anytime you do something you're going to be getting bonuses so you can be getting boost tokens these are the super speed boots
from the game but you can use these to reroll a set of dice you'll be getting Rings everyone loves rings in Sonic uh you be getting the bonus stage so you can go into the bonus stage anyone remember these blue spheres from the original Sonic Sonic 2 had that Gauntlet shoot thing so all sorts of stuff like that but you're also going to face enemies badnik so from time to time badnik are going to come into play they're going to join you they have they have various uh various negative abilities you can defeat them but they can also harm you so the things that can go wrong in this game if you ever roll the dice and don't have a die that can be legally placed then you suffer damage if you ever reroll the dice and match a number and color that's on one of your bad Micks you suffer damage and if you choose to end your turn without having exhausted all of your dice then we lose time now time we've got seven time between us if we run out of time we lose the game and in and from a damage perspective everyone knows Sonic you're collecting a bunch of rings if you suffer damage you lose all of your rings if you have no
rings then you lose life it goes like that in the video games so uh if anyone runs out of lives then the game ends and then we lose and then the game wins we also have how toplay video for Sonic Roll On The Dice Tower which I think I've linked it in the description maybe not I'll link it later pretty sure I did all right so this is yeah that is the core of how how it works now we're going to be collecting a bunch of stuff across the course of the game which will contribute to our individ ual points uh this is like an arcade machine where you're like running along the thing your primary objective is to go and fight and defeat the boss but you're also scoring points that are just ticking up in the corner and you also want to high score so there's a way of calculating that yeah like Rayman as well same thing like a lot of arate games yes it's Cooperative but you also score your own score points I should say all right let's get back to the chat uh where up to I think I'm up to last oh hello hello and pamd and adre enjoy playing Sonic in arcade machines that's awesome a lot of money there a lot of coins at home is cheaper or you know more investment start last finally got my oh oie oie based delivery from warless games yay blood Stones that's

you have three possible roll actions and they vary by character so tails you could roll four yellow dice um and you save any matching Pairs and discard the rest and if there are no matching pairs you keep one D and then you do that again so you could end up you could end up with eight dice if you roll four pairs on each one you could end up with as few as two dice the benefit with yellow dice is that they represent jumping anytime you spend a yellow D you also collect a ring so that's pretty cool uh you got spin jump this is three red dice red dice are the best for defeating and avoiding enemies because of course when Sonic is spinning uh he kills things so you could get three red dice but then every time you spend a red Dy on a bad neck you get a yellow D so that's going to you on average bring you up to four dce per turn and then you've got propeller tail which is blue now blue is the running die it lets you spend multiple dice before rolling uh and you gain a yellow D if two or more dice were spent so if you do chain them together you get some yellows then tail has a special ability uh twice per round so between
tales as start of turns uh you can reduce this to change the result of by one someone else of yours or someone else's yellow do sorry set of to yes by that amount so by I can change it by two or just one twice yeah oh I can I can help you or on me yeah so what's yours uh so what I have look at mine I've got the super peel out ability so I roll six blue dice but then I discard the lowest or equal lowest dice so if I roll a whole lot of low numbers I would to roll this I would lose all of those from my pool I've got spin dash where I roll a blue and a red and I keep rolling a blue and a red until I get any pair and I've got drop Dash where I can if I spin yellow dice then I get blue dice I also have the insta Shield it lets me turn a blue into a red and change it result by one once per I only use it on myself sorry that's it yep let's do it it so uh look at the chat quickly I love Youk

dies were spent since the last roll okay so if I can place two of these then i g a yellow unfortunately you can't place any of them at the moment saw set so the options right now well no you've got you do have options so right now you've got a four M so if you place a four you'll get four rings if you place a blue one uh will get bad next if you place a red one you can't do that a three will get you a boost no I can I can do this none of you can use your effect oh that sorry that only works on yellow dice oh my gosh I forgot so you're either going to take damage now which would cost you a life at end your turn spend a boost Tok I have to spend the Boost token sorry yes zoink this is the first first battery roll I forgot that this is on the yellow so reason thank you Taran keeping me honest that's better so there's four and six here that I can get which is perfect so I'm going to do that sorry four now because it's blue I don't have to roll otherwise you roll every turn y so four rings YY d d ding go tails and then next one is six get me a booster right there mhm uh where is that thing zoom in yeah the the booster is sorry not it's it's for R rolling
and I get a yellow Dy now yep so now you're moving to the roll step you gain a yellow dye uh which you roll with this get a yellow so again a yellow that if two or more yeah yeah I have to roll it I I can't really set so so I can change this the four and go there and then five will go there I almost finished this level right but this will give me batnick which is yeah we can't avoid getting bad Nicks there um but if you do place the yellow four there then you will have to roll before I can't yeah I yeah I see I see or I can go no way I think that's my only option you could go there how do I do that by spending both of these to turn the five into a three mhm get a booster and then leaving all the vnik things for Tan to do that's all right you suffer the bad Nicks as well it's a Cooperative game and when someone gets a bad Nick someone else gets a bad Nick it's like Oprah oh hang on Kess is it K Wy from Kess like maybe please identify yourself yo this is

of value me using the the blue blue unless I can oh this is blue that's true I'll use I'll use the blue okay that's my way of getting all right so I need to get rid of the two twos they're my low M I don't have any ones which means I can't defeat that Nick bad Nick I can only place a single die which has to be a three down here gra a boost all right now you to roll okay 235 so you can go here too I could get me some rings better than b Nick yes it's going to lock us into blue up here I do kind of want to defeat the neutron though just get that out of the way no I should take the opportunity while I've got it two rings yeah roll two and three all right now I can do what I was going to do before so I'm going to flip the insta Shield to turn this blue into a red and adjust its result by one and then use that to defeat so as in Sonic a small animal drops out

okay okay so you get the animal but and that's I have no chance of matching because it's only blue yeah now you do have to discard one die from all because there are no Blues wow byebye yellow easy come easy go but hey that works right okay five and two I want to roll a single die here oh hey hang on I can go there first and come back there there's no fives or twos on offer out there it's four one and yeah it's four and one and a blue four I will roll one jingle die with this one I messed this up here by forcing us into blue but then it's pretty nasty down the Bott oh my gosh oh my gosh so you can use your Boost yeah let's do that come on good dice one yeah one and three is better so three is in there I get an animal I just take any anymore really rather than matching one yep but you do lose that one because this effect occurs before the maget bug is yes of course had you suffered damage you would have lost the shield another perk Shield yes all right I better do Pass Me Some Blues pass me uh one
more all right what what I miss good morning lesli DAV watching videos of people's dentes feeling falling down reminds me of choer being defeated really is that correct do you remember that CH was being defeated rightly is it like dangerous I'm so I'm goingon to do a big run here I can do two I can do four six all right so guess and you saved the cards you've completed for scoring at the end but only the last die completes a part even if someone else is also played on it yes so I do a big uh big run here so I get a power up wow you might complete this one I will complete oh wow nice so I get a power up it's a super ring gain five
rings um then put the six there that's two rings then put the three this is a star post nice and I complete so now I'm going to bank all these winning just because and I complete this points and I get another power up power up that's five rings super nice okay okay next one Chopper was we have three more of these by the way Chopper was defeated but now I'm rolling a single die so okay six six it's kind of like Cooperative but also like I want to get the best one I want to complete it and then I Score Tom more stop so it's four one and four um my six isn't going to help I don't have any oh Choppers is slim for denter any roll I could turn it into a five with my insta Shield but that's not going to help either take damage take damage I'm I'm I have no choice I'm going to have to take damage oh you can re remove that instead I must remove that first oh and am I going to keep going or am I just going to take time
I'm I'm going to take time we got a bit of time okay it's going to lose me 10 points but that's all right we're being cooperative aren't we sure like our tennis table game we're playing cooperatively aswi no one can catch the ball all right ready that's true um all right so you reset and you do it again all right isn't that chompas chomas or choas and I don't remember the name so you probably have better remember than me okay uh I have no bad neck that's great we' we're both clean of bad necks I probably want to try to gain should I do yellow I do yellow let's do this all right so I have to save the matching pirs just go the so you keep threes and then you roll another four yellows why time two oh yeah I forgot again oh my gosh yes oh it's all right you can turn it into a four yeah okay okay it's not a bad time to take a hazard die either because the chance of hitting a three is low why because I've done my threes so if you get a hazard dice penalty you have to roll a black Dice and if any black dice matches any
die in your pool then you suffer damage so when you only have one number in your pool is not a bad time to take that or I can do this if I go here and then just complete this and then got this cut you know what I'm going to this is not feeling very Cooperative I want to roll a single a single D with this one four which actually can go here which is a better which is what I just described oh this one yeah I'm going to do that it's better yeah hyper ring heeld ring are worth 15 points I think it's probably meant to be one oh no sorry yeah one and a half times because normally a ring is worth 10 so remember the damage keep half of Hell Rings rounded up and this card this card okay okay and you get a ring because you play Yellow thank you yeah all I kind of want to go here and then Bank my my things but I don't know we'll see ready one and four and four that's perfect really yeah perfect yay handed on to me and then this kind of a dice is fine and then I come this I get power I mean you just Bank all of your rings I think I'm going to need some some things to oh I can just have tap it one once I use

Emerald that's very sad here's the Chaos Emerald uh so Chaos Emerald on the table Chaos Emeralds introduce the they're worth 50 points or they introduce the special oneoff abilities and when you're playing the campaign you are trying to collect all the chaos ules which was always the point of the bonus levels in Sonic Sonic then the game comes with four zones so I think what some of the other power I feel like these are from a mix of Sonic one and Sonic 2 I remember the chemical plant zone from Sonic 2 um Green Hill I think became Emerald something one then there's the lava Reef which I've never heard of yep and there's the Stardust Speedway which I think is the equivalent of the um metal sonicing ding ding I hated Metal Sonic heavy King it's like onion King it in overcook Eggman I remember the Boss music
