hi it's tyrone and stella from meeple university today we'll show you a quick how to play or overview for reinforcements so hopefully you can get a bit of a flavor for this game coming up so we do a lot of healthy play live playthrough videos and more so if you're new here please consider subscribing and hit the bell to be notified of our new videos and if you find value from this video maybe later please hit the like button subscribe to us hit the bell and leave your feedback in the comments for others to find for now let's get to the table reinforcements is a light battle card game in which players fight for control of the coloured kingdoms it was designed by brennan karl and published by peasant mob the game plays 2-4 players in 20-60 minutes and is of light complexity in reinforcements players try to defend their territory and vanquish their opponents players begin with three single cards face down which form the beginnings of their stacks each turn a player draws up to hand limit which is usually five and then takes one action to defend by adding a card to a stack to attack an opponent's stack or to discard unwanted cards when defending the player adds one card from hand to a stack which is already of the same color and adds it either face up or face down to match what the stack already is if a face down stack ever reaches three cards then the cards are flipped to be face up and the player gets to start another face down stack players may have no more than five total stacks when attacking pit a card from your hand against the top card from an opponent's stack flipping it face up if it's face down a higher attacking power will destroy a lower defender or multiple defenders if the power allows while the attacking card is always discarded if a battle is tied then reinforcements each player flips the top card from the deck to break the tie beneath this simple battle mechanic lies several game breaking cards and abilities which players will seek and use to advantage red face up stacks give you more powerful attacking barrages with red cards blue face up stacks can be fortified to four cards green face up stacks increase your hand limit and you have the flexibility to swap cards out within them flip over two matching stacks or three different ones in order to gain the matching totem which gives you a once-off stronger effect assassins and mages are weak in defense but are strong in attack and can help you cut through your opponent's stronger stacks or discard a five peasant mob to smash through an opponent's stack entirely all of these options and the opportunity to gang up on a runaway leader makes for a light and well-balanced card game which remains a battle right to the end your end game begins once all of your face down stacks are gone making it impossible to trigger the addition of more stacks from then on it's a battle to the death and the last player with cards remaining on the table is the winner and that's the quick how to play video for reinforcements we hope that you enjoy the video we are using a prototype copy of the game and so the rules and components may not be final and do check out the project page for this game we'll put a link to that in the description below if you find this video useful please help us by hitting that like button subscribe to us you can also hit the meeple on the corner to do so and hit the bell icon so you'll be one of the first to know when we have new and exciting videos you can also follow me on instagram for my board games journey and if you have any questions comments or feedback please leave them in the comment section below see you next time
