FloraVista - Card Matching in Botanical Championship

hello graduates it's Stella from mle University and this is Stella's short and sweet preview for Flora fista from far out [Music] Fox all right plant people listen up you've just been accepted into the Flora fista Botanical Championship where only the most resourceful cunning and slightly cut short gardeners will Thrive your goal curate the most breathtaking Garden imaginable oh I'm Stella Greenleaf the Undisputed gardening Guru around here the others might think they have the best Garden but they just growing weeds and Wishful Thinking the game plays two to six players with mechanics such as set collection cut Drafting and hand management it's light complexity enough to be fun but not so much that your brain turns into compost in Flora frista your mission is to create the best matching pairs of plant and region cards earning cultivation points and whoever has the most points after 12 rounds wins you start with six cards plants and regions each round or season everyone takes as many turns as they want playing a pass of a plant and a region card to your play area on your first turn each round you also get to draw two new cards to hand the plant and region you play must match makes sense right play the plant in its suitable region screen house unlike my neighbor who tried to grow a cactus in the swamp yikes the plants also must match the current season and you resolve the when playay effect on the card like draw thrwing extra cards or stealing a random card from opponent it then goes to the next player and around until you planted all you can everyone passes and it goes to the next season the first player that round who plays a type of region card is the owner of that region hence other players can't play that region unless you swap so before you play your matching pair you can first swap other players region with another valid region then play that region you just stole with a matching plant of your own oh uh about your cafia lime what are you doing in my garden sprouty H well I need to plant my soybean and I see that you've registered your ownership of plants of Asia under the Federation of officially licensed Australian plant territories ecological zones AKA follow-up test uh I'm going to need it thank you excuse me do you think this is a free sample at Farmers Market uh it's called strategy here enjoy your emotional support Woodland walk hey you better sleep with one eye open at the end of the season woo spring now all played cards are moved to scoring piles and the region earner resets you earn Woodland's walk last round I can earn it next round ownership is fleeting round goes to the next season community garden cards reset play continues for the total of 12 Seasons count points on your PL cards and bonus points that your specialist gives you scoring points for a particular region and most points wins as you've proven to be the master Bon is swapping regions like Sprout there is one way that you can play plants that you don't have a matching region for and play another one dominating the region hence making it harder for opponents to play that region that round all right pretty flowers yummy vegetables H that sounds relaxing oh you think it's relaxing until someone takes the only region card you needed and suddenly you you can't plant your sacred Lots so you're still upset about that hey Garden Warfare my friend Garden Warfare so beware this isn't some peaceful afternoon of poting soil and calti oh no no no this is a high stakes Botanical battle you'll need strategy picking the right plans choosing the best regions and making sure that nobody else gets ahead only one Gardener will claim the title of Master botanist everyone else well they might as well abandon their Gardens you want to be efficient matching the right plan however you can because if you play and match all your cards before passing you'll get rewarded next season by drawing four instead of two cards there is a variant shorter game of eight instead of 12 seasons and if playing with five and six players you can share the Region's ownership with other players now look at my garden flora la vista baby so thanks for visiting my garden box and thanks for watching check out Flora fista Project page I'll put the link in the description below the components feed in this video are prototype so rules and artwork are not final please like subscribe let me know and share this video If you enjoyed find me on Instagram and podcast live bu on board games where I talk about the joys and struggles of being a board gamer hope to see you there too see you next time
