[Kickstarter Preview] 52 Duels (A 52 Realms Game) Solo Gameplay Overview | DaniCha
Transcript
Hi everyone, Danielle here. I'm doing a solo overview of 52 duels. I am going to be playing as the barbarian up against the nemesis Rogue. So, we do have our own 52 card decks, no jokers. And I'm just going to dive right into um this overview because this is a preview. Please also keep in mind that some of these things are subject to change. So, um let's get started. So, we'll draw five cards into my hand. One, two, three, four, five. All right. And then we'll draw five cards face down into the nemesis hand section. All right. We'll take the first turn, but we only have one action. So, I'm going to work towards I think level one.
But I do notice that I have three cards that are clubs. And that's pretty useful in this game because uh we have ax throw which requires cards of the same suit. And if we have a minimum of three, we could do three damage right off the bat. So I'll place that and I could decide if I want to keep going. If I if I waited to put my fourth card there, I do five. If I wait to put my fifth card there, um it's seven damage. So uh yeah. And then I would double all damage if my um thing is clubs. Suit is clubs. So right now I think I'll just take an easy first hit. This will be six damage total to them. So as far as defending, we're going to flip over their hand and see what they've got. They defend with flash powder. Reveal and discard any number of black cards to prevent two damage for each discarded black. So that's going to be uh four. We're discarding two black cards just to prevent four damage out of the six. So they take two damage and damage is taken off the top of the deck as wounds. One, two.
All right, so that was my turn. I have to discard the cards after I uh complete the ability and then I draw back up to five. 1 2 3 4 five. Normally I would get two actions, but for now, because I was a first player, I get one action. All right. So, their turn. They're going to grab the cards in their hand and place them. All the face cards will go to their leveling up. Here are their levels. We each can level up um up to level three. They need to have two face uh face up face cards to get to level one. And they happen to have two in their hand. So, they're going to essentially place them here because it's met the two is going to be flipped over to to remind me that I'm at level one or the nemesis is at level one. And basically, moving forward at the start of their turn, they discard a card from the ability with the fewest cards, then draw a card and assign it to the matching ability or level. Um, this basically helps them get an ability, hopefully um sooner than later. And then this remaining numbered card would be placed in the ability section based off of the suit. This is a diamonds. Um, so we have clubs, spades, heart, diamonds, and we're just going to put it in the diamond section.
And each of these have minimum numbers of cards needed to do its ability. And depending if one of them is met, it will do the ability from left to right. So, we're going to just leave this here and call it a day because it's not uh meeting the five required cards to use the decoy ability. So, they're going to end their turn and draw back up to five. 1 2 3 4 5. Put it in their hand. Back to us. Okay, so we have [sighs] a queen, which could lend itself well to um leveling up. I would need to look at the value of the cards in this pile. If it's greater than uh equal to or greater than 25, then I'm at level one. And then in the second pile, I can start contributing to that. Those cards in that pile, those values would have to equal 35 or higher to get to level two.
Um, so I think the queen would be helpful there. So I'm going to put it right there. That's my first action. And then my second action is actually I think I'm going to probably work towards the run. And I'll put the six here. since it's kind of one of those in the middle numbers. Um, I could do the same suit though since I have two hearts which does damage. You know what? I think I will. As my second action, I'm going to place two hearts into this into axe throw. Not activating it just yet because I don't have three cards, but uh it'll be for later. Then I'll draw up to two five cards and it's their turn. All right, so let's see what they got.
No face cards this time. So, let's sort it by suit. We have two spades, one clubs, one diamond, one heart. From left to right, we see if any of them resolve. And right now, none of them do. So, we're just going to continue here. Actually, let's grab these cards up again. Um, we have to remember they're level one. Start of your turn. Discard a card from the ability with the fewest cards. So, they're going to discard decoy and then draw a card and assign it to the matching ability. So, it's going to be hearts. All right. So, now they'll do their turn placing the cards
and still uh we do not activate anything. So, they'll draw back up. All right, let's see what we have in our hand. Ooh. I'm going to put these four cards into Primal Fury because I'm very close to a full house. That's very close. So, I will put all four cards here. So, I can't activate it quite yet. Um, but it'll be here for when when I can. And then this ace I could use as my second action. Uh, let's take a look at these. I could discard any number of cards, then draw up to five. Um, that probably won't be worth it because I won't be able to use those cards this turn anyway. Now draw back up to five at the end of my turn. So I think I'm gonna use this ace to
I'll put it in the same rank section. Yeah. Okay. And then I'll draw it back up to my hand. One, two, three, four, five. All right. So it's the nemesis turn. We do have a face card. We'll put that there. We need two more to get to level two. Oh, at the start of your turn, you have to discard a card from the ability with the fewest cards. Um, I'm going to have to discard this and they'll draw and assign it. All right, they'll put it here. And then we'll put the rest of these and then we will definitely be resolving something. We're going to revolve the poison blade. So, if they have six cards, which they currently do, they're going to do six damage. So, six damage, and I can defend if I have cards of the same value. So, I'll defend half the value, but I have to discard these two and just take three damage. One, two, three. And then the rest of that ability says, draw two cards. And the opponent discards two cards of their choice. So, they draw two cards. And so they'll end up placing it like that. And then I had to discard a card of my choice. Um I think I'm gonna just have to discard like this 10. All right. And then that's it. We'll draw five cards for them and pass to me.
So we have two actions. One action will be to place this ace here for the same rank and then the jack I'll put here. So, we have um 11 + 12, which is 23. So, not quite at level one yet. And that's all I can do. 1 2 3 4 5. Okay. Oh boy, they have a lot. Okay, so they just need one more here. So, they leveled up. Says, draw an extra card into your hand at the end of each turn. So, they have level one and level two. Um, sorry if you turn this card. card from the least. They're going to discard from here and place this. So, they have another one here. Once it overflows, they just put the rest and they have a total of three here. Can't see it's cut off, but they have three cards here.
They just need one more to get the level three. And then they have to place that and that. So, a quick slash will be activating at three for three damage. Let's see if I can block any of that. Uh, nope, I can't. So, I'm taking three damage. One, two, three.
And then the others won't activate. At the end of their turn, they draw an extra card. 1 2 3 4 5 six. Okay. All right. So, I'm going to do one action, which will be this ace. And then my second action will be to place these two hearts. And I'll do five damage to them. And then they'll defend for any black cards they have in their hand. Two of them. Wow. They have four. So, they're going to defend all of it. Um, I'm only doing five. So, they only need to use the three lowest cards to defend. They keep the highest one. All right. So, that was a bust.
Um, and that's I think all I've got. I'll draw back up and then it's their turn. So, they're going to at the start of the turn discard a card from the ability with the fewest cards and draw a card and assign it. Okay, we have a queen. So, now they are leveled up to level three. and then two diamonds. Okay, they draw six cards. One, two, three, four, five, six. And then it's back to us. So, that was a lot of dueling between me and Barbarian uh as a barbarian against the Nemesis Rogue. I think you get the gist of how this game works. Um, I do want to mention how this game actually ends. So, I would lose immediately if I suffer damage and both my deck and my discard piles are empty. And then, um, I would also lose if I ever need to draw a card from my deck and there are no cards left. So, if if my discard and my discard pile is also empty. So, um, I kind of got pretty low on my deck. So, I would say probably the game is about halfway over. Um, and same goes for them. So, if they end up dying from exhaustion, uh, I would end up winning.
Um, I think this is a very welldeveloped game, I have to say. And and all you need to do is print out these papers. Don't need a pen. You don't need nothing else. Just just your two decks of cards and you you can get to playing. Um, I imagine that this is an even more fun uh experience with two players. Of course, it's more of a dueling experience when you're playing with a human, but I think the solo mode is also very well thought out. Um, as of now, I do have a lot more damage, though. So, 1 2 3 4 5 six and I think what I did two. The third defense is pretty good because they have flash powder. So, reveal and discard any number of black cards to prevent two damage for each card discarded. I just had horrible luck. Let's see what they had here.
they would have been able to defend six. So yeah, it's a bit of a a very much like, you know, luck of the draw type of game, but that's kind of what you get when you play a card game, especially with decks of cards like this. Um, but yeah, I'm really enjoying it solo. Very, very portable. So, if you're into that, this is probably the one for you to check out.
