Oh Crab - Crab race with Concordia card play
hello graduates it's Stella from mepple University and this is Stella's short and sweet preview for all crap from Smart Fleming guard now where are those crabs they've run away from my kitchen how dare them I was ready to cook my specialty soft shell crab crab Curry crab soup how am I meant to make crab dishes if all of my crabs are gone oh look there they are racing to the ocean hope they'll get eaten by seagulls the game plays two to five players with mechanics such as racing Action Pool building and simultaneous action selection the game is off light to medium complexity in or crab you are one of the crabs playing and building your cards trying to be the first one to get away from the kitchen into the ocean pushing away your opponents along the way in round you choose your card simultaneously then one player at a time reveal their card and move accordingly to their cards then it goes to the next player once all players had a turn it goes to the next round till one crab reaches the ocean and wins I want my crab Chow now or I want my money back yes sir uh please be patient our crab tea are very fresh so we will have to catch them and cook them right away o crabs I better go chase them there are different type of movements and there are ways to combo your cards this is a forward movement this is a sideway movement and this can be sideways or forward move your crab accordingly possibly pushing opponent's crab to a direction of your choosing yours and opponent's crap then resolve the space your land on could be good like picking up this currency shell ow come on be shelfish for this one all good or bad like having to discard a card when pushed yes your opponent moves forward but they have to spend movement or shell icon on the turn to stand up when you match each half of movement on your card you play that round then you also get to do its action or get the shell you also need to have rest action to collect all your cards back to hand but one face up card and add one card from the common area to your hand when you do that the cards you take have extra actions on them like discarding a card to move sideways toward tce or jump to another space on the same line usually more powerful things that may affect yours and opponent's crabs another benefit of resting eventually one crab would reach the ocean okay they're probably not going to be eaten by the seag girl their Skins are hard as a rock s then that crap wins the race and oh crap there goes my food I'm going to need to save crabstick you know aka the fake crabs to the customers shell is good shell is currency you want to get lots of shells if you a crap that is if you don't maybe go to the U um prawn broker kidding at the start of each game Draw random actions everyone can buy with shells like this one two shells to move one straightforward one shell to pick up all of your discarded cards you can shells from the board the main action on your cards and matching up shells from two cards for lagging behind crap don't worry if you the last crap on the race you get first player tken not only you are going first next round but you also gain one extra sideways movement a good catchup mechanic but eventually you want to be ahead of the crap crowd having your cards match up the ede icons of your pre prev visually played card is usually good more movement but it also needs to be the correct movement you can't go to these block spaces and you probably want to avoid spaces that get you to discard your cards and less cards means resting more but you can also rest if you're not out of cards maybe you want to get that shiny new card that would match perfectly with your other cards or all your good CS or the play the game has a two-player variant where you control two crabs each where you can only move your trailing crab each round maybe sometimes you want to be behind to bump other player now are you ready to run away from me be the fastest crab to escape to the ocean or else you'll end up in one of the delicious crab dishes in oil crab so thanks for watching folks check out oil crab project page I'll put the link in the description below learn the components featured in this video are prototype so rules and artwork are not final you would help us by like the video subscribe and hit the bell and comments below if you have any questions I also share my board games Journey on Instagram and our other YouTube channel me University short and life hopefully I will see you there too see you next time
