Pakal - Should You Play? A Board Game Review
sliding puzzle with rating in a board game combined pacao coming up hi it's taryn and stella from university today we'll be talking about paco the new upcoming game here from cranial creations called pacquel yes so pacal is to put it in fairly simple terms pacal is a slide puzzle race these are the components that you have in the game each player has a little 15 puzzle uh board on that each player will have a unique set of the nine symbols in the game and there's a mix of transparent and opaque squares that go on the board and so they get set up at the start of the game and then each round is a i think you're given 35 to 45 seconds depending on the difficulty you flip up one of these and then the players race to make it so that only the three symbols showing on this particular tile are revealed and so you can see yeah i've got this one here i've got to get that down got taran i know i can do i don't need that and this is the playthrough as well by the way tanzania and yes like that and then as soon as someone is finished they grab one of the tiles from up here it is not allowed to be one of the tiles shown on here and then as long as you did it successfully you advance your score marker to the next symbol of that color so it's a race to complete the slide puzzle then it's a race to grab the token that gets you the furthest down the track as long as it doesn't match the one that's on here that's basically the game you keep doing that until someone reaches the end of the track it's got a balancing mechanic so that as players advance they have to change out some of their opaque squares with more transparent ones because that then makes it harder to cover the six symbols that aren't there if you fail to finish around then you get to change out one of your transparents back to an opaque one and yeah that is essentially the game it's fine sliding a slight puzzle is fun although i'm not very good at it i think i probably need 60 seconds sometimes you always like something almost always bid me i think i i i'm not an expert 15 puzzle uh player in terms of solving it as quickly as possible but i do i did a while back work out a sequence to make sure i could at least solve it every time oh um so would you like to share that or you should like to just like keep it for yourself although i it's it's been a while but it's a matter of um you know working out how to rotate sets of pieces in order to get the pieces where you want them so lessons learned here is to not play against parent it is fun though yeah it's a good bit of fun it's you know it's the sort of game where you have to enjoy doing this live puzzle essentially because that is the entire game and not only that then you have to quickly grab the color that you can to advance on the race so it's essentially whoever you know reaches the the last bit wins the game yep that's a fun light game for family um us through date night yeah i think it's the sort of a filler either pillar it's certainly a filler i think it's it's probably got a very specific target audience i think if you've got a big disparity in skill set between people who've done a lot of slide puzzles and haven't it's probably not going to be a lot of fun and it might work with families it might be a good learning thing for for kids to figure out how to do these or it might just frustrate them yeah i don't know i know you really like this it goes and you're really good at it as well i'm okay at it as a game i don't know if it tran i don't know if this puzzle translates that well into a board game right but it's certainly a fun little challenge i mean you saw me doing it before there yeah trying to get these it's so quick well explaining you again you actually did it while explaining so that's great so that's uh that's paco should you play you decide for yourself if you enjoy these review videos please um hit that like button and subscribe to us mipple university and also hit the bell so you'll get notifications of one of my our many videos like this one how to play play through live later on the weekend and so on i'm also on social media instagram facebook twitter hopefully i'll see you there too until next time bye
