come on there we go come on okay and that all right pop out the chat kick out the jams all righty

and there we go there we go hope everyone's doing well Jesse Daniel morning from a cloudy Milwaukee yes it is dreary here I'm north of Milwaukee a good deal but still also very dreary kind of dark sometimes I do these chats and everything and I'm completely blown out you know on this side with like a lot of light because there's sun coming in and all that kind of stuff today it's gonna be a little bit darker let's see good evening from an uncomfortably warm Perth afternoon from Normandy good morning from a soggy Mitten absolutely good morning from rainy Chicago hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and some extra hobby time good day from Gray Oxford currently on my way to the shops and to deliver some cookies nice uh Chile Central Texas morning from irk Erskine Scotland Adam and discourse on at the same time oh yeah I saw that she went on well she yeah she'd gone on a good deal earlier than I did because I noticed it on Twitter this morning when I was looking through my twitters let's see here what automaton feisty crab man VJ morph how you doing good to see you happy birthday as well by the way um good afternoon from Kent England good morning I hope you had a good Thanksgiving how's Mom doing uh mom's doing okay she went with my brother and his wife

to her side of the family for Thanksgiving so that was good our Thanksgiving was not great um it started like real early in the morning with finding out that my wife's mom my mother-in-law had uh tested positive for covid she felt like she had a cold and so she had tested it and it was negative on Wednesday and then on Thursday early morning she tested again and it was positive so we were all going over there for Thanksgiving so that we had to call an audible and then switch that around so we ended up going to my wife's uncle aunt and uncle's place which is also here in town so that's good but that was a little I mean there was it was you know it's that was a bit of a bummer um at some point before going to Thanksgiving my wife was making some waffles in the toaster some toaster waffles out of the freezer and the toaster decided to not stop toasting and she was doing other stuff making pies and everything else like that and wasn't paying his close attention and then all of a sudden she's like what's with all this smoke and um yeah um it did not start a fire but still on Sunday now everything still kind of smells a bit smoky in the house and we've opened the windows here and there and stuff like that it's been a little warmer than usual and stuff but yeah it's um so that was a bummer had to get a new toaster which you know but still uh and then what else oh and then uh one of our bath the bathtub in the other bathroom

um turned it on and then tried to turn it off and it wouldn't go off something happened inside the whatever this thing is and so on and that was on Thursday so you can't go to the store necessarily on Thanksgiving to get you know new shower stuff so I had to go on Friday morning real early before stream and uh and and I did get it fixed I'm not a plumber but I figured it out so hooray for uh me I guess telling a friend of mine this yesterday and he's like you must have rolled a natural 20 because it worked the first time like I just like so there you go anyway so that was my thanksgiving's been a little weird I had a friends giving last night had lovely food and hung out with some folks and stuff so that kind of put the end cap on it hopefully which is nice so that's that's a good one um let me see here Oklahoma Iowa oops everything scrolled um Salt Lake City uh Peterborough Ontario Canada morning from hot west Townsville wow good morning from North Carolina good morning from Gray Markham hope you had a great Thanksgiving building up new Canadian shock troops nice I did get a little hobby done yesterday um I worked on what I work on so there used to be the ruins of osgilliath which was a Terrain set for the Lord of the Rings stuff from Games Workshop that came out years and years and years ago I bought some of that and built it and painted it and I've been using it on and off here and there

in different you know uh terrain things for quite some time and uh they stopped making it well they've brought it back they don't call it the ruins of ozgeliath anymore now they just call it Middle Earth ruins or something like that or ruins of Middle Earth but it's the same kid so I actually like nobody around here had it so I ordered it straight from their website and I got like actually I bought two boxes and so I started working on one of the pieces yesterday to kind of get it built and all that kind of stuff there's a lot of mold line scraping and all that jazz and then I realized oh gosh my video is coming Friday should probably be about the new war cry box so I started building a couple I'm going to try to build three of the lizardmen and then paint them up before the before that video so worked on some of that as well yesterday um dreary here in Zionsville Indiana there you go hi from Oconomowoc Wisconsin for those of you not from Wisconsin and we're trying to figure out how to pronounce that word it's economowoc night from the island of Borneo oh nice uh Sunny Orlando West Midlands morning from Winneconne it's been a while since I got to catch a live show we're glad to have you um let's see here nice to catch you live from Los Angeles nice uh Bremerton Washington paintings and puppets for uh units nice good afternoon from Canon south of France nice Rainey Jonesboro in Southern Illinois greetings from Detroit nerd bunker painting some Ponzi Rivendell elves while watching well it's Elrod and Gore

Fidel as well as it's uh you know that's fine soggy gloomy south Ontario how you doing uh Denmark um post happy turkey day from Columbus there you go had a very nice chilled day with the family that's good to hear absolutely who else is playing dark tide I've played some actually on Friday after my stream me and moderator Matt played for a couple hours so that was nice uh I've so far I've been enjoying it I haven't played it in the well since then since Friday so I I think there's been some more updates again probably it's gonna launch when Tuesday 28th no like what Wednesday maybe I don't know it's supposed to launch I think on the 30th so like the full-blown launch launch is supposed to be this upcoming week mother-in-law gets over covid okay yeah I mean she's you know double vaxxed and double boosted I think even too um but so far so good you know foreign

gosh there we go watching my son swim and watching my favorite shows how's that for multitasking nice not bad Nick good morning from Tennessee got some hearthkin Warriors for my birthday having to learn how to use my mini skills on an original 18 model 2. nice running from an OPB course team and I'm enjoying the gameplay I played blood bowl like way back in the day like first edition and um I haven't really played too much since I've played some Blitzball but uh not blood Bowl so much good morning from Saskatchewan got some break games for my birthday best present though is securing the our new home nice yeah hello and bonjour from French Alps winter is finally coming has been too damn warm over the last couple of days yeah I know what you mean sometimes yeah I mean today well I don't know what today today's currently 37 high of 40.

um we've had a couple of days the last couple of days where it's been you know mid 40s nearly 50 which is kind of weird for late November in Wisconsin but you know what are you gonna do uh good morning Uncle Adam trying to tell myself not to buy any more Miniatures well you know I can understand that painting my veteran Guard team as a steel Legion finally nice paints up a bunch of 3D printed Blade Runner minis this weekend nice AVS how you doing uh good morning from Memphis Tennessee the way that Adam just rolls over osgiliath and I was so natural that's true yeah no I used to have a hard time pronouncing that for some reason but I've gotten better at it good morning from the sunny bold coast of Maine we need to replace our toaster too yeah it's just like it was just going and I was where I was in the basement doing something and then um and then my wife came downstairs and she's like the toaster tried to burn the house down I'm like by itself she's like well you know I was using it and then it just never stopped and like these waffles inside there were like glowing like Embers like in your grill and she took them outside and whatnot and then later on like they had burned completely and I they were sitting on the toaster was sitting on top of the uh recycling bin thing outside the back door and I came outside and I looked at him and I like poked at one of them and it just just like was just ash it was yeah it was it was not good so keep an eye on your toasters when you're toasting things just FYI

could have been much worse as opposed to just making everything still smell a bit Smoky but other than that yeah um let's see here afternoon from a bizarrely sunny Glasgow sure

spending a decent part of my weekend getting 3D models for space station zero nice painting by evil snowmen from War on Christmas Village gotcha happy Sunday from Chile New Orleans putting more hours into my dark terrain my into the dark drink actually yeah hello from Spain anyone know where to get proactal Paints in the EU countries not uks I get import tax from there not that I know of right now I know that in the UK that they're through either element or Weyland and I think it's element um but I don't know about the EU yet south Ontario glooming wet means happy time for me nice as per today's topic I am particularly grateful for your channel and your approach and attitude to promoting and being an advocate for this hobby well that's very nice view John I appreciate that that was not exactly the the idea there that was what I was looking for but I appreciate that um let's see here Mark says finally made it over to a live chat with the Adam Community hello all well hello how you doing Printing and painting some EC 3D spaceships this weekend easy they're trying to adhere to the to the 9010 rule nice or the 1090 rule depends on how you want to look at it I guess um let's see I'm also grateful to have the time to devote this Hobby and my long-suffering wife who has had to put up with it I mean my my wife I we have the benefit of that we both have hobbies like she's very she's very much into knitting so she knits a lot I do this you know sometimes

she goes to a store and comes back with yarn sometimes I go to Historic America with Miniatures you know it's it's it's not too bad she has a room upstairs where she keeps all kinds of yarn and does knitting and sometimes knits down here as well and the den has a lot of stuff in it I I take over most of the basement it's not too bad good morning from DC I've been using this holiday time to prep for an American war of independence demo game I'm running next weekend nice demo games are always cool thankful for my new Stark versus Lannister uh age of Ice and Fire uh no Song of Ice and Fire said to start painting I played a game last week and it was amazing thanks for all your fantastic content well thank you absolutely Chrome Jeff um whoops scrolling dead loader says hey I made it nice greetings from Chile how are you doing good morning from Los Angeles first time I've been awake to catch you live I mean that happens I mean it's you know time zones that's that's totally a thing um your house has a huge man cave so stoked to set it up for printing painting retro console gaming is gonna rock nice good morning it's an icy morning in Edmonton I hope everyone's having a great day nice that just reminds me I Edmonton reminds me I have I'm going to be seeing game for Matt um later today uh Edmonton reminds me of that because he lived in Edmonton for some time uh and as he when he was a kid um anyway I'm going to see him later on today because he 3D printed me some stuff

I'm going to be doing some sponsored content for um turnip 28 for the because they've got a um Kickstarter that's going to be coming up think this week and they're going to be starting to sell stls of like specific like turnip 28 um you know Miniatures that you can print and whatnot the things that are so instead of having to Kit bash you've got these things if you want to go down that road so they'll be doing a Kickstarter it's going to last for like 30 days I think and so I'll be painting them on Twitch so but I didn't it was one of those deals where I'm like I could potentially get my printer set up but I just I I don't want the first things I printed to be for things I need to print for like like not test prints you know what I mean like I'm like yeah this is a thing that I'm doing work for so I don't want to be like well this is the very first print that came on my thing my printer and then we'll see how it works out so that's why I reached out to to Matt and um he told me yesterday that he had stuff ready to go so I'm picking it up from him today so uh Edmonton there you go this as I am toasting a bagel and giving the toast to the side eye well you should constantly keep an eye on your toasters they're trying to kill you but that under shirt there you go good morning from Boston working on painting bellicore this morning uh Christmas gift for my brother oh that's a very nice Christmas gift apps I mean not just bellicor but painted bellicor very nice that's cool good evening from Perth how you doing can confirm Monument Hobbies via element

games in the UK yeah I was sure about that for UK but I don't know anything about EU sadly um for finishing my first set of votan while I listen nice thankfulness question I'm thankful for the abundance of abundant abundance is the word I'm looking for of Minis on the market but generally Unsure how to prioritize projects without starting new ones in a whim film inspiration is a real problem yeah I mean that kind of inspiration can be uh both a blessing and a curse because you can certainly be like oh wow you know I played a video game or I watched this movie and I really want to build terrain like this or I really want to you know make some models like that or whatever or paint these guys to look like these guys from Star Trek or Star Wars or star or Trek Wars or whatever anyway um but then the next day there's another show and now you're like oh now I want to do this and yeah that's it can be a thing that it's got its benefits certainly that kind of inspiration and I do enjoy it but you're right it is problematic sometimes now it totally depends on whether you're very much into I start this project I finish this project nothing happens in between or it you know or if you're fine with like I'm gonna work on this for a bit and then I'm maybe not feeling it and then I work on something else I find that generally unless I have a strict deadline for some reason I do generally find that I am more interested in

hopping around like because there'll be times when you like start to lose momentum on a specific project and if you're like but I've got to get this project finished that can cause you to just not paint whereas if you're like I'm kind of losing momentum on this so I think it would be fun to do this instead so I'm going to go work on this other project knowing that this other project will still be there so when you when this project maybe all of a sudden you're like meh then you can switch back to this but again it depends on it's kind of related to Friday's video about how there's no wrong way to do these things you know what I mean um if you're like I have to get things done from point A to point B then you have to figure out ways to mitigate the loss of motivation but if you're like I can work on this until I get demotivated and start working on something else which motivates me more and then do that and then come back to this first thing you know later on or whatever um you know it's it's working one of those two ways that that helps I think one of my local game stores just really start recently started carrying the entire proactual range of paints for my own hobbys and they're pretty great they are pretty great I like them a lot I'm a big fan um I also like their brushes three specific brushes are my favorites uh and they're back in stock so if you're interested you can go to Monument hobbies and uh and look in their brush sets because there's a brush set called Uncle Adam's favorite brushes and there are three synthetic brushes a double zero a two and a four and they come in a tube and um you should buy them if you're interested in new brushes they have been my daily drivers I was just thinking about this I think on Friday they've been my daily drivers for

basically a year now those three brushes like I don't even mean like oh I've been using a bunch of them I mean I opened a pack of them back at the end of November it was post whoops it was post um Black Friday I remember when they came out last year so I opened a pack of them and then I started painting with them and I've been using those same three brushes this entire year and I paint a pretty decent amount you know at the very least I at least paint six hours a week you know because of the the streaming generally um so yeah it's uh I've been super crazy happy with them so if you get the chance go to Monument Hobbies um and uh and you know pick some up to help the channel as well um also if you've never bought from Monument Hobbies website before like if you can't find the stuff locally I'm gonna set I'm gonna drink some of this egg and now I will set it down so I don't spill it um if you want to order directly from their website and you haven't ordered from them before you can get 10 off your entire first order do I have a button for that nope anyway um I do on Twitch I just don't hear I you can get you can get 10 off your entire first order if you use the offer code tabletop minions all one word tabletop minions no space in between at checkout in the little offer code thing you'll get 10 off your entire first order whether it's brushes Paints the whole whatever the tools that they make which I love their their mold line scraper um their new uh exacto blade knife that's retractable that's dope I've been using that a lot lately I like that too

so anyway you can get yourself 10 off your entire first order it's also an affiliate link so again it helps to support the channel but yeah check out um Monument Hobbies foreign animal watches was very helpful I well thank you I appreciate that um I I yeah it's one of those things where I'm like I know this is not necessarily going to pull down big views but I know it's useful and so you know it's there are videos that people will click on right away because there's like maybe some sort of clickbaity thing going on or there's something really new or interesting or a new GW product that people want to check out fine but then there's also videos that are like this is maybe not like you know if someone's like yeah I'm not really doing that kind of thing right now so I'm not going to bother watching that video and like when it comes out but then maybe six months later they're like I think Uncle Adam had a video about how to do enamel washes and so they they have more long-term legs those types of videos uh they're a little bit more Evergreen versus like hey here's this new thing like nobody right now really wants to watch the video that I made about the Pariah Nexus box for kill team 2018. you know what I mean at the time it was did pretty well like right initially but then after a while you're like man like every once in a while somebody looks at it but like videos about like whether it's the stuff that Sam's had on my channel you know like how to paint a Power sword or whatever or other tutorial type stuff like how to paint macarons how to do this then we'll wash that stuff over time picks up sometimes not always but usually foreign

from the mountains in New Mexico painting a rogue Trader egg Sentinel this morning nice my fiance is also in the books and video games nice hello from Germany howdy Chris um I too have a home that functions on a yarn versus Miniatures balance yeah yeah 52 Miniatures how you doing hope all is well hope all is well as with well with you as well um things went okay with Thanksgiving toaster tried to burn the house down shower stopped working for some reason something broke into the inside so I had to replace that part uh but other than that yeah so far you know not too bad I was sleeping but you're live streaming woke me up so loud that's weird um let's see here please give Matt my best absolutely haven't had a chance to speak to him in far too long yeah no I agree I'm simply grateful for the Galaxy of choices we have today because a gold truly a golden age in this hobby one wonders how long this can possibly last I mean yeah you're not wrong it is a good question um I think that there are parts of the maybe Golden Age kind of thing that are going to change in other parts that are well I mean a lot of parts are going to change change is the only constant but um I can definitely see like with 3D printing and things like that that's going to become more and more widespread um just in general and um

I can definitely see some benefits obviously to that for people who are interested in kind of more Indie and you know that kind of stuff and also just for the manufacturers who are like look I could produce this and go through all that jazz and you know blah blah and then have to mail it all over the world or you know ship it to different distribution centers and Distributors and this and that and all that or I could just make some stls that people could download and they can print them themselves and you're going to see more of that I think but um um yeah I don't know Games Workshop it's gonna be interesting to see what they do with 10th edition 40K I think that's going to be a big indicator and we'll probably find out more this summer because I'm pretty sure that's when it's coming out so yeah you'd think that the rise of retro gaming would get GW and other companies to do retro lines and minis I mean they are technically moving back into the old world so that's kind of like Retro Gaming a little bit

um let's see here PK Pro in Germany carry the monument Hobbies paints hmm that's good to know all right um your Friday video spoke to me as long as I'm happy and proud of my painted minis that's what counts that's that is the point yep absolutely absolutely

um thanks for all your all the videos I just started getting into the war gaming hobby a few months ago and your videos have been in great help well that's that I'm glad to hear that that's that is that is the idea absolutely sorry was it moderator right or game format so I played uh dark tide with moderator Matt on Friday and I'll be seeing game format AKA milk can mat uh today this afternoon after I get sometime after I get done here

good evening from the Philippines and Happy Thanksgiving painting up some rohiram for the Middle Earth strategy battle game nice talking about 3D printing I'm stoked that war game Atlantic have set up a tribe on my mini Factory and are releasing all their kits new and old ones is stls for home printing see that's yeah I mean it it just kind of makes a lot of sense now some some sculpts might be hard to do in 3D printing and it does take a little bit more work on their end because like from what I understand the way that it generally works is you sculpt a thing in the computer and then you have to obviously split it all apart to make the parts that then go onto the sprue so I suppose at least from many situations you do that initial sculpt and then you set that aside make a copy of it because later on you're going to probably sell it as an STL but you also do the thing where you make it in plastic and all that jazz um but sometimes there's things you can do in a plastic on the sprue type miniature that you can't really do in 3D printing and then vice versa as well like in plastic printing you're constantly having to worry about undercuts and things like that because the mold has to pull apart and these things have to be able to come out of the mold um whereas in 3D printing it's not as much of a thing but then you have to think about supports and all that kind of stuff I guess so yeah there's a lot of interesting um yeah yeah for sure but it's very cool I think it's a smart move for them to be like well look we've got these things

that we sculpted for you know we could tweak them a little bit so that they'll work better in 3D printing and then sell them and make a little bit extra money off of like especially if it's plastic Miniatures that they're out of production on or if it's plastic Miniatures that are like you know look we could also do that I don't yeah it seems to be a smart plan um and using tribes uh if for those of you who don't know a lot of 3D sculptors were using patreon because patreon you know that's what it's kind of for is people pay a thing and then but then the problem is is that so people pay you for your patreon then you have to go through and figure out how to get them the links so they can download everything every single month and it was becoming a lot of paperwork and a lot of uh admin admin um and then the folks over at my mini Factory were like well why don't we make a tribes or sorry why don't we make a patreon type thing called tribes that will then automate all that so then people it's like patreon except it's not going through the patreon company it's going straight through my manufacturer you're paying 10 bucks a month or whatever to these folks who do the sculpting and then at the end of the month or whatever the deal is Boom all the stuff automatically gets put into your my manufacturing library and then you don't have to go download it and Chase it around it's a whole thing so yeah the tribes they launched it earlier this year I believe um and it's been working out real well I mean now admittedly there are still plenty of sculptors who are doing both just because they're like they don't want to just like completely be like oh yeah you patreon people get out of here and switch over to this but new sculptors and new people who are doing

that stuff some of them are starting straight into tribes just because then they don't have to go through patreon I think there's also a difference in how much money you get percentage-wise I think tribes maybe gives you a little bit more of the overall than maybe patreon does so yeah another Whataburger Thanksgiving nobody's for me until I finish the new living room for my wife Nice hello from Argentina howdy uh scrimmish games are great for hobby add yeah absolutely I I just I talk about this all the time the reason I like skirmish games is because it's like a buffet like I can paint 10 of these guys or five of these guys or whatever and some of these and some of that whereas if I have to play an army game I need to paint the same scheme on 30 40 50 100 models depending on which armor you take and I just kind of don't want to do that I like doing a little bit of this and a little bit of that and at the end I may have enough to fill an army but I got to paint some ghosts and some skeletons and some armored dudes and some nurgle dudes and just have a whole bunch of different war cry bands let's say but they're all good to be different and so I I enjoy that better you ever use dry pigments on your scattered terrain um not on scatter terrain I have used it from time to time here and there on basing for Miniatures um but not so much around scatter terrain no I think scatter train gets touched a lot so I haven't tried it too much so so much to learn in painting and

procrastination is the thing yeah I mean I find that the biggest procrastination thing for me is watching shows or uh you know YouTube videos there's times when you know I could be downstairs paint painting or building or whatever doing anything and maybe I'm just watching some YouTube stuff because I'm trying to relax or whatever and there's definitely benefits to relaxing as well I mean we can't again like it's not all about constant efficiency and production and output it is a hobby but it's one of those situations where you're like I haven't touched any of my hobby stuff in a month then you have to start to wonder well what is it you are doing is you know maybe because and I've said this before sometimes maybe Miniatures isn't your hobby you know maybe watching uh different shows is your hobby you like to watch all the big series you know like Game of Thrones and what's the new one house to the dragon or whatever and all that kind of stuff and you're like into that and there's nothing wrong with that um but if you know sometimes it's you're doing other things other than your hobby because you're again maybe it's like a situation if you're like I'm not going to do any hobbying unless it is to finish this one project well maybe that project's what's screwing you up and you should start a different project and let that sit and allow yourself to change gears you know that's also a big benefit I have multiple projects going on at once I can't stick to one at a time yeah I do that a lot too

just drove from Melbourne to Sydney after an epic weekend of Marvel crisis protocol should sleep now yeah that sounds that sounds like a good time but sleeps also sounds like a good time in that situation I've been riding a wave motivation the last week jumping between projects not quite finishing anything and starting new projects such as life again you're still making forward progress so yeah things don't get necessarily finished but eventually they probably will um I've also talked about that in videos before too where like if you're just like oh I'm not sure what to do if you've got some project that needs a half hour more work and then it's finished if you do that half hour more work and now it's finished you get the endorphins of like hey look at this finished thing even though you only spent a half an hour on it because you'd spent you know technically six hours on it you know in the past or whatever it's something that it's nice to have those extra projects kind of laying around for when you need a quick win you know what I mean I'm thankful for resin 3D printing since the only way to get official minis where I live online is paying three times the price and postage sure love those brushes along with Sam's weapon wrap yep Sam's got a brush set through a monument as well hope you had a great Thanksgiving from the UK amazing fellow amazing Channel well that's very nice to you to say thank you very much I appreciate that Paul um let's see here thankful for my flgs shout out to go for games in New Orleans they're the only place I know that keeps a 24-hour play space no kidding wow 24-hour play space that's pretty cool foreign

could have used that code earlier this week love monument in the proactual paints um yeah I like their stuff a lot too absolutely echoing the praise for the enamel wash video ordered the streak and grime right after nice yeah no it's um I like this stuff a lot it is like I said be careful of the bottle it's a little not particularly great but the stuff inside is pretty good flgs had the next Brian Nexus box set on sale for Black Friday at 50 off so I finally grabbed it guess I need to get that video of yours well in the video is not it's not like a painting tutorial there I do another video about how to paint necrons but and you could use some of that for the flayed ones but um but yeah in that video I was talking about how the Pariah Nexus box was not so great like the models were fine like the models are nice but the rest of it I was like this is this doesn't why did they do this and you know that's why you're finding it uh on Black Friday 50 off because a lot of other people thought why did they do that especially since they did it just before the launch because they came out with it in I think it was in early 2021 and then in the summer of 2021 they're like hey look at this new version of kill Team all the other stuff ugh you know and so anyway

let's see here toaster is equal to septicons never trusted a septicon well I mean the the word just deception is sort of kind of in there for in their name and it makes sense honestly if they were smart they would change the name which would be deceiving but you know um just received space station zero book roommate got a 3D printer last week fun days making custom space minis ahead nice that sounds like a good time I hope you enjoy the game absolutely

um where am I here gosh oh okay there we go uh let's see here hello from Germany as well just ordered my first White Spirits for trying out oil washes nice yeah um the stuff that I've been using is called like I said in the enamel videos called gamsol g-a-m-s-o-l I believe and um that was on the um that was on the uh you know advice of our good friend Vince ventrella and uh it is it's it's nice it is definitely odorless I have like I said I have another like a metal kind of bottle sort of container thing that you get at the hardware store of odorless Spirits I'm like nope I can smell those that there's they're not odorless there's some cat Shenanigans just ran through here um I need to find a Canadian distributor for the monument brushes 25 shipping for a 25 brush that seems a bit steep yeah I don't know what it is about America and Canada lately but it seems like we're in some sort of postal War because stuff is incredibly expensive to ship back and forth between the two countries I don't know what that's all about but it's crazy there are some places in Canada oh dang it hooded Goblin I think there's like a store that sells it does a lot of online selling and they do Monument hobbies and I think it's hooded Goblin or hidden Goblin or something like that I don't know if that'll help as far as a Google search but it might

current project I'm stripping old sororitas see I can say osgliath but I still can't say a sorority Miniatures I bought recently the old metal pension engine is ready for prime for the old Exorcist I still have to find out how to put back together again yeah those metal ones are you know they're there Richmond Dale Ohio need to start painting my blade guard nice I've been in Hobby burnout for six months Friday I plan on buying a box to add to my knit Army okay uh is anyone else salty about world eaters now my whole Army is invalid I had not really paid close attention to World eaters I've been looking at those models a little bit and I'm like they didn't I don't know why they just like like I don't understand why you would have power armor except for like one arm into hanging out like that I don't know whatever but um hmm interesting do you think GW Plastics should could be cheaper given their grip on the world market grip is I think a strong word they only have a grip on people who are like well I'm only ever going to play Warhammer then yes and that is part of the issue with people believing that the entire wargaming hobby is just Warhammer and I know it's the most popular I get it it's kind of like saying Marvel movies are the only movies they're not they make a buttload of money they do and people enjoy them I enjoy them myself but I also like to watch other stuff and and uh yeah so

I never like to call it a monopoly because it's not a monopoly there's plenty of other people out there who make Miniatures that you can buy for games that are not Games Workshop stuff or heck you can use them for Games Workshop stuff you can't use them in a tournament for Games Workshop I get it but you and your friends want to sit down in the basement and play you know I don't know Warhammer uh 40K New Edition previous editions I don't care house rules whatever you do that you can play whatever Miniatures you want it's totally fine the police are not going to come but if you're like well I'm a tournament player and I always play in tournaments and I can't play anything that well then that is the bed that you've made for yourself to some degree um should they be cheaper oh yeah no they definitely should be yeah I definitely think they should be um but you don't get to be a giant huge multi-billion dollar Corporation by you know selling stuff cheap I guess I I mean except for those companies that do not within gaming necessarily but you know there's plenty of companies out there that are humongous that sell super you know like Walmart sells stuff for relatively cheap and they're massive so I don't know yeah I have I don't know I believe that most things coming out of Games Workshop these days are overpriced for a while I was amazed at how inexpensive their plastic terrain was this was quite some time ago this was back like I remember buying like these models or those models and then you could buy a plastic terrain kit it was like 25 bucks and it was like a ruined building corner of you know manufacturem something like that some of those like City fight or

whatever type kits were surprisingly inexpensive for a while that's not the case anymore their terrain is just as expensive as their models in in some situation um it is funny though that you could be like well this one guy is 35 in this entire piece of terrain is 55 in the night that's weird and again you know it's a lot of different factors but um I don't know that they should like I don't know what would it basically if we could if if some government agency could be like look these are too expensive you have to reduce your price then that government agency should get a lot busier in a lot of other areas not just in tabletop wargaming you know what I mean um because there's a lot of things that are expensive these days so yeah I just got some ground uh Jeezy Ground Zero games is that what gz gzg is uh Moon grunts for space station zero oh 15 millimeter yeah it'd be Ground Zero games nice uh can enamels be used at this scale yes but um you might have to be a little bit more careful about how you clean them uh you know clean away the the enamel and stuff like that because it's smaller scale you're gonna maybe wipe it away and it'll be as if you didn't do anything in some spots or if you don't wipe it away enough and it's a whole different story so yeah it's it's a little bit harder I think in in that scale I have a hard time painting a 15 millimeter scale at all for one thing so that's you know there you go I hope to see War Games Atlantic produce

some generic sci-fi tank kits I need some more 28 millimeter scale tanks but I don't want to have to spend 100 bucks a piece sure have they as War Games Atlantic made sci-fi tanks before I guess I haven't noticed that that's pretty cool um modifis has started selling stls for their Star Trek minis that's true yeah actually we talked about that um I think last episode a little bit last one of these two weeks ago yeah um I like I like seeing companies doing that kind of stuff I think it makes a lot of sense um I think in that case that what they were doing to some degree is they're like look we're going to make a production run and I see this as being a smart move if you can do it as a let's say a non-games workshop you know uh manufacturer put it as a new set of models and be like look here's stl's and they cost this much and here's maybe resin printed stuff again not finecast but you know that there can be good resin printing I know that find cast put a lot of bad taste in a lot of people's mouths but honestly the resin stuff that I get from like puppets War uh chromlach Anvil Industries there's a lot of different companies out there that make resin Miniatures I'm not talking about 3D printed resin I'm like poured resin and they are great awesome stuff Games Workshop um you know uh yeah I don't know what it is their resin is like kind of weirdly porous and it's just I don't know what they're using but

it's not great anyway um my point is is if you're a company you're like look we're gonna make these cool resin things and we're gonna make a production run of x amount number I don't know how many 500 a thousand stats whatever but also sell them as stls there will be people who are like I would prefer to print those myself you're making money other people who are like I don't have a printer so I want to buy these and then once you're done with your Productions you know cycle you can be like okay do we keep making more of these in resin or do we just leave the stls out there and that's just kind of the you know it makes a lot of sense in my mind

get my 3D printed Miniatures from Etsy I don't have a printer yet yeah I've done that myself how will you be painting up and basing your new ozgeliath ruins I don't know if I'm going to I was thinking about this yesterday as I was gluing them I don't know if I'm gonna put them on bases or not I generally like to put ruin sci-fi or modern buildings on bases but ruin like ruins like you know for uh fantasy type stuff I don't generally put them on bases and I think it's because it's assumed that when you see a building in a Sci-Fi game that is knocked down it is relatively recently knocked down so it would make sense for there still to be rubble and stuff kind of at the you know around the base of it whereas ruins you know in the kind of medieval sense or fantasy sense or whatever these buildings have been knocked down for I don't know Millennia or at least centuries or a really long time so there's it would just be grass and stuff generally underneath them so I I don't know it's it's a weird sort of thing that I've got going in my mind but that seems to be how I have a tendency to do it as far as color is concerned I don't know if I want to try to make a match my original ones so that they can all be put together separately or if I want to try to go a different color I do generally like making Stone gray though so that's kind of what my old as giliath ones are and I'm like well yeah like I could go brownish maybe or tan like maybe it's more of a Sandstone kind of a thing I don't know but I I have a

suspicion I might stick with some sort of Gray I finally got my 3D printer to allow something to stick long enough to fabricate Square well that's pretty cool now I need to tune the layer shift with no real guidance at all yeah that's the thing that makes me nervous about 3D printing is not quite understanding how the how the tweaking works and stuff like that but we'll see how it works

um I have about 10 Hobbies it's expensive problem I no FedEx is outside weird I'm not stopping here um I do feel that you can have too many hobbies and I think I made a video about that once too yeah and uh I I do try to limit um because there's a lot of things that I'm interested in but I'm like um it's trying to stick predominantly with the photography slash videography thing is one of those things and then the other thing is um the Miniatures and they are related to each other which is also helpful order myself the mobile paint station 2.0 on Black Friday for Christmas from the times when my traveling with my RV so I can keep painting to relax that's not a bad idea it's a good idea yeah absolutely painting up dark Strider Cadre Fireblade and long strike nice like having a couple happy projects on Deck so I can swap between them if my moves change that is I think the plan at least for me it doesn't work for everybody but I find it works pretty well for me

um let's see here just had to clean off my desk so I can do something that's the thing I should probably get into more is cleaning off my desk I have not but so great oh it's a fleecy parade I'm like who is that sounds like Margot or Maggie I mean uh Vallejo has a new formula for their game color line pretty excited for those new paints nice I don't use a ton of the well let's see here I use a little bit of their model color stuff um specific Grays that I've just really really like for certain reasons uh there's a black a black gray or a gray black and there's a Basalt gray and those are the two that I use a lot um and then um well the silvers that I like but those are technically in the model metallic Air Line I like the silver and the Chrome quite a bit from that specifically finally busted out my uncle Adam's favorite brushes this morning they're really nice I like them a lot yeah but I'm glad to hear you are here I'm glad to hear you like them though uh feisty crap man

um Happy Thanksgiving from one greybeard Uncle to another nice let's see here thankful for your channel the info in my local store am I the only one that would rather game at a store my house is not totally devoted for Gaming's go flgs I do enjoy gaming at the flgs as well um because it is just sort of I mean to some degree it's a little bit more convenient and also I feel like it can be not always but it can also be kind of a catalyst to getting people interested in Miniatures you'll have people in the game store who are there like I know for sure that a lot of the people at my local game store who got into Star Wars X-Wing back in the day were magic players who were there playing Magic and watching people over there with their cool Star Wars ships and I'm like that's pretty cool I don't think I could paint those and then people go no they come that way they're right over there on the they're pre-painted and the people are like the magic folks are like really and oh yeah and there's also cards involved too and they're like really and so yeah there was a lot of people who were into magic at our local store that because they saw people playing Star Wars all the time Star Wars uh X-Wing all the time in the shop began buying that stuff um so you know there's I think a benefit to getting more people interested in in our specific portion of the hobby when you do it at the game store I think there's also a benefit to that foreign

Vince convinced me to try oils on my mini hoping to try today nice any recommendations from any printing of stls from my manufacturing not ready to buy a 3D printer um generally I would tell you to take a look on Etsy of course the toaster tried to burn down the house did we learn nothing from Battlestar it's a good point any idea for a land Raider crusader with one uh thing missing strew is that the right term that they're called sponsons most odorless spirits still smell odorless usually just means the fumes aren't lethal or overwhelming yeah but the gamsol stuff is like it's really like you don't smell it it's really quite good that way our Skirmish game is becoming more prevalent as of late yes I would say so seems that there are more of them than there once was but this can also be that we have better ways to communicate about these games thoughts I think that you're seeing more companies doing it because they understand that it is an easier ask for new players to get into a skirmish game if you make a giant honking army game and GW is one of the first ones that kind of really started to realize that this is like it used to be fifth sixth edition even seventh some some degree if you wanted to get into Warhammer specifically you had two choices you either played whatever 40K you needed like a 2000 Point Army for that generally or you played um fantasy and you needed like what 2500 22.50 whatever

you needed a big army for that too so the ask was like oh I'm interested in playing this game oh you are cool all right well here's all the stuff you need to buy you need to buy this big thick book you need to buy this other book and you got to buy all these models so when kill team came out they were like look here's a 40 book that has everything you need in it rules and also um you know all the Army lists that you need for the most part and then you could buy like a single box of minis for 50 bucks or less and then just use you know your own terrain that you might have or whatever there were boxes that you could also buy that had all that stuff included too but you know it was a nice inexpensive way for people to get into the hobby now evidently they thought it was too expensive or too inexpensive because when the new version came out then they were like well you got to buy this 50 book and this other 50 book you know if you want to have the rules and also the stats and stuff that's just kind of or maybe this white dwarf or maybe this other box or blah blah um but it's it's easier to get people involved in wargaming when you tell them look you don't need 50 models you need five maybe ten that it works out better that way um I think there's also I know for me personally I just don't enjoy big army games anymore I know there's plenty of people who do and that's cool they should keep playing them I just don't want to play big army games I want to push around far fewer models myself um so that's another reason why I like skirmish games for sure and I'm suspecting there are other people out there that like that thing too but there are also still plenty of people out there who are like I like the spectacle of a 4x6 table covered in Miniatures and

like that's cool um so there are games for both of those types of folks out there which is good foreign local attorney we had yesterday in Kingston three chill games nice I love painting scatter terrain and today I'm making the realmscape objective set nice hemp Plastics is interesting I don't think I know much about hemp Plastics I got a YouTube reply on one of your videos that I won a prize is that legit no it never is uh it's any time that if it's me and I'm responding to somebody in um on Youtube it'll just say tabletop minions and I have a check mark behind it like in a little circle thing or whatever it'll be highlighted the people who are doing this scam and they've been doing it not just on my channel but channels all across YouTube and YouTube doesn't seem to be able to do anything about it somehow anyway um they will like grab the Channel's logo you know from somewhere put it in there and then put in like my name and then something like you know you know text me at and a phone number and that'll be the name of their entire account and then they'll just sit there and respond to people and go oh hey you won it's great awesome just uh text me at this address and whatever or Telegram and blah blah and then what they do is they're like yeah we're gonna give you a free PlayStation 5 but you gotta pay 200 to ship it and then you don't get a PlayStation 5. so yeah I will never give anything away through the comments like that um so yeah it's never me it's never me

um GW doesn't have a monopoly they have a monotony it's a never ending flow it is pretty never ending these days that's for sure I think Fenris Workshop in Quebec has a lot of Monument hobby stuff unfortunately I love our West uh and uh cost astronomical as from the US now I can see that have you looked at vallejo's new game colors and express colors do you think that they are a little late to the speed painting game I have not looked at them because I don't know where I would even get them um they're not like available like well maybe they're available in the United States but I've never seen them in a store and they never reached out um so I have not had any access to them uh as far as being late to the game I I mean you know you like what you like some people are like I don't like these I like those and whatever um I know that there's obviously contrasts speed paints from the Army painter scale 75 has instant colors or instant something or others um I bought one little small pack of those finally I was at a convention last month and I because I again I never see scale 75 in the wild so I bought some of those um a box of them they come in weird colors they're like oh here's an entire box a red you know instant colors I'm like kind of weird I just it makes it would make more sense for me I think for them to make a box where it was like here's a bunch of different colors as opposed to here's a bunch of shades of red or a bunch of shades of brown I I don't know I did buy one box that I thought was kind of useful which was a box called Shadow so it was all kind of darker colors but there was some blues and some

Reds and some Browns and stuff like that or whatever and it was all decided I guess to be shadow colors and things like that so I'll give that a try but otherwise yeah with scale 75 I never see their stuff in any stores so I don't ever have any access to it too much and Vallejo there's a HobbyTown USA here in town that carries I think their model their model color and their game color line but they don't carry I don't think any of the air paints and they don't carry any of the other you know like these new ones that I've seen although to be fair I haven't been in there in a couple of months so maybe they've started doing it uh I agree with you about the world leaders I wanted new ones for a long time and they offer us these they're awful no thanks GW like they're not terrible sculpts but it's just weird that they're like why are they missing so much power armor and I guess it's probably a lore thing or whatever but I'm like yeah I didn't I don't know I just want new Berserkers and these guys don't look like Berserkers to me but I wasn't really gonna do much with them anyway Mantic Games new vegetation terrain looks pretty cool have you seen it no I haven't I knew that they were doing some new terrain crate stuff but I haven't noticed any vegetation stuff that's pretty interesting playing mostly BattleTech has helped me to avoid burnout only having one to four models my paint table has kept me from being overwhelmed sure I can understand that I prefer my scratch build terrain Yeah scratch build terrain can be fun for sure I need to do more I think I've well it's not exactly scratch build I did do

some terrain recently where I used some some resin walls and then I put them on a base and then I made a floor for it out of like those little wooden coffee stirrer sticks and all that kind of stuff and everything it was kind of a World War One like ruined building but it's not completely from scratch because like I said some of that stuff is like resin wall pieces that look like ruined brick and stuff oh two excuse me excuse me got the sneezles um part of the cost is for paying the artist and the sculptor buildings are easy to design and make sure sure when I started buying Citadel Miniatures for the second time in 1994 I could get a blister of two metal models with a 20 Bill and have enough left over for a pack of smokes and a coffee wow yeah no the prices have definitely gone up Ronnie Retton was the one who pushed for that Terrain in the original City fight when he worked for GW now Mantic is launching sci-fi trees and Scatter terrain on a Terrain crate 3 Kickstarter I did hear that they were doing a new Kickstarter for the terrain crate stuff I'll take a look at it um in your opinion is a low end airbrush worth it just for priming I live in southeastern Wisconsin I would say yes especially since you say you live in Wisconsin the reason for that is because then you can prime stuff all year long I find I can't Prime very well in the winter um there are also times in the summer I can't Prime very well either because the humidity

um so yeah I find even an inexpensive and that's the thing especially if you're doing even if you're using it just for priming and maybe just for some xenathol and the inexpensive airbrush is still going to work pretty well especially if you take care of it like if you keep it clean it'll it'll do just fine so yeah there's nothing wrong with that um I I'm I'm working on an idea in my head for a video about like reasons why you want an airbrush like you know three reasons why you want an airbrush and one reason why you don't or something like that I'm not sure yet exactly what it's going to be titled but um yeah I I and I I use a fancy airbrush and whatever and all that kind of stuff but there are plenty of airbrushes out there you can get for inexpensive that will still do especially for that kind of stuff for priming and for um like highlighting and things like that you you don't need anything fancy frankly

foreign let's see here I wasn't a fan of forged World Miniatures for Lord of the Rings battle strategy game something off about them Forge world's resin is I especially when they start getting into the vehicles I've had friends who've put together Forge World vehicles and they're like you better go out and buy a whole bunch of those big clamps that you get at the hardware store because man those things are warped you know you have to click glue everything together and then just squeeze it with like 13 clamps from 15 different angles and uh yeah so oops that moved again um

my pride and joy is smog I bought my first airbrush setup to paint him nice TimberTech airbrush beginner set is around 60 to 80 bucks with compressor really good for that price any any and good enough to paint with not just base coat yeah yeah fleecy parade indeed uh so you're painting an imperial knight and made a rookie overhype mistake of gluing everything together painting is way harder now yeah yeah I'm still I have a tendency to still not usually work in um uh sub assemblies as much as I should um those little tiny lizardmen from the new uh um war cry set I started putting them together yesterday a couple you know I'm gonna try to put three of them together and paint them and stuff like that for the video for next week man they're small and then I glued them all together I'm like that guy's got a big shield on him I probably should have left that off and then I could put it on later then I'm like you know I know these guys are so tiny it's not like I'm gonna get in there and do a bunch of detail work so it's it'll be fine it'll be fine hope everyone had a thank God great Thanksgiving I've got a question for Adam in the chat my resin printer lives in the garage it's cold do any of you you uh good folks have a suggestion um temperature is pretty important in 3D printing I've been told in several situations that the key uh is to try to you know like if you can get an enclosure for it and keep the enclosure kind of warmed up helpful um I know that ninja was showing me that

he uses it's like a little belt that goes around you put it around the tank and it's for Brewing so if you're into home brewing beer it is this thing that you plug into the wall and it's just like a rubber kind of belt that you put around the container when you're making wart I believe which is part of the process of making beer and it keeps the temperature it's like a heating belt and it keeps the temperature at a certain temperature or whatever keeps it warm and so he uses one John does around his tank not around the outside of the plastic thing but the tank that the resin sits in he puts it in there and all that kind of stuff like that so maybe that's something to look into I need to figure that out myself because the basement is cold during most of the Year even in the summer it's cool but you know so um but I have an overall enclosure and if I can just figure the heat Source in there relatively well then it wouldn't be too big of a deal so between my Minis and my disc golf time plastic takes up too much money most hobbies are expensive that's true it's true I mean there are some hobbies that aren't like if you want to get into drawing all you literally need is a pencil and a piece of paper you can also go fancy and have to buy like a fancy you know Wacom cintiq you know 21 inch like you know drawing thing with a screen and all that kind of stuff but you could also just you know piece of paper and a pencil um but yeah I mean a lot of most Hobbies do have usually a cheap aspect you can go

with if you want to um but not all evidently uh I don't know car racing I don't know there's an inexpensive relative to each other you could be like oh well I really love car racing and so that's why I bought an F1 team no that's that's very expensive as opposed to like I found found an old beater and I take it to the track and I run it around and stuff like that that's cheaper but still expensive in comparison to say like little plastic dollies or you know whatever or again paper and a pencil um talking of too many hobbies I knocked myself down to three Hobbies lure making I fish at least nine months a year sure makes sense um miniature displays might get into wargaming over the winter months nice and photo video that's cool and some of that stuff has some overlap you know what I mean so like if for lure making especially if you get into like those kind of solid body type lures and things like a repella type or whatever you know you there are people who will get into that and they'll like start airbrushing their own lures and stuff like that and now you've got an airbrush but you could use that also on Miniatures or your displays and stuff like that photography especially if you want to be able to maybe start selling lures if you're into that while having photography skills is going to help you to be able to take better pictures that you can put on on Twitter Instagram whatever to sell your product and that kind of stuff so yeah

uh I recently bought some acrylic wall racks for nail polish from a large online retailer they have really helped to keep my painting desk clear of cutter clutter yeah I bought some of those for um my airbrush room and they do help a lot the downside is the room where I paint my Miniatures is cinder block walls so I can't just very easily attach something directly to the wall I do have some like shelf kind of tiered um a nail polish acrylic Dew hickeys that are on a wire shelf that are near my but I can't like the room that has the airbrush room two of the walls are cinder block but two of them are wood and so I can just screw all these different shelves to that which has been very nice

hey Adam have you had ever tried a skirmish game rule system called Fistful of lead by Wily games it has a variety of genre supplements seems up your alley Fistful of lead I don't know if I've heard of that frankly hmm uh one page rules games are good for scaling up and down between Skirmish and army games oh yeah I mean you've got you know Grim dark future which is an army game and then you've got Grim dark future firefight which is a skirmish game and they do the same thing on the fantasy side as well I have several local game stores that carry Vallejo yeah we don't like the two game stores here in town neither of them carry Vallejo I don't think yeah they carry um you know Citadel obviously they carry Army painter they carry one of them carries turbo dork and Monument um I don't think that they carry AK Interactive which is fine um yeah I don't know I think it's just those yeah but like I said there is a hobby store uh um Hobby Town USA they seem to carry the Vallejo that's the only place in town that has that

I've been loving speed paint I hope the improvements coming don't change what I like yeah no that is that is a good point Ed Pugh from Richard Reaper minis died yeah no that I heard about that last night actually that's very sad uh if you don't know uh Ed was the president and CEO of Reaper uh you've heard of Reaper bones and all that kind of stuff the reaper paint line all that stuff um yeah he passed away sort of suddenly like he had a short illness and then died evidently just I think this week so yeah that kind of came out this uh I like I said I first heard about it last night um it's very sad because he was a definite um advocate for you know gaming for the masses you know the bones line and the success of all that stuff we're definitely like I want to be able to get small plastic you know plastic Miniatures to for inexpensive plastic Miniatures into people's hands and you know um for DMD and for all kinds of different things like that and so um yeah it's a bummer um he uh I talked to him a couple of times actually at that Reno trade show that I used to go to the the gamma Expo I chatted with him at least a couple different times um he's a real nice guy so yeah new Vallejo paints are delayed not even available in Europe yet and my flgs in the UK has heard nothing at all um I know there's been some videos about them but I don't know really much else about them beyond that

looking forward to them as I mainly use their paints so you would hope this new Range plays nicely with them I mean it might corvus how you doing when prepping minis do you prefer to remove mold lines on each individual piece before assembly or after the whole mini is assembled I generally try to do is I'm cutting them off the sprue that's my normal kind of situation is I will cut you know I'll figure out which piece I need according to the instructions or whatever I'll cut that piece off the sprue and then I will kind of clean it up and then glue it that's usually how I do it and then I missed some and then I have to go back and fix it and that's the whole thing

um I've got the halfling half of the new Kings of War Battle Set uh starter set I can't wait to get started out of them nice that's pretty cool um let's see here cleaning clean the individual pieces separately sometimes you have a difficult time reaching those uh lines after assembly that's also a good point yeah good point seeing as there are only two more every other Sunday shows left in the year oh my goodness um are you going to do a best of 2022 uh hopes and predictions for 2023 show I don't know I mean I'll definitely still do the tabletop minions Awards because I've done those the last how many of those have I done three I think maybe three uh so this will be another one I'll be doing that I generally try to have those right around Christmas when's Christmas this year I mean I know when Christmas is but I don't know what the day is um 25th is a Sunday so it would probably be the 23rd Friday the 23rd is when the tmas will go up uh and we'll figure that out but um but yeah I don't know I'm not sure about as far as for this show what uh what the plan is on that I read the one page rules Grim dark future firefight or sorry Grim dark firefight and fantasy Skirmish rules they look nearly identical and pretty much excited to get started with the system nice green stuff World whatever you think the company think of this company because of their other actions have something called dipping inks which is a contrast

paint as well yeah I tried I was thinking about trying to buy some I was at the Nova open and there was a booth there that had most it was mostly just green stuff World paint like that was they had like big racks of green stuff World paint and then they had a bunch of stuff that they had been 3D printing that they were selling separately which was weird it was like a 3D printer and paint store I don't know anyway um and but they didn't have any of those dipping inks in stock yet they hadn't and this was again late August early September like that show starts I think on the 31st of August and like ends on the 3rd of December of September so they hadn't they hadn't had the stuff in stock yet so I wasn't able to get at it I did actually buy because again that's some that's the first time I've ever seen green stuff World Paints in the wild I have seen the texture roller things from green stuff world I've seen those at shows before and I've purchased them even but I'd never seen any of their paints like actually available for to buy at us at a store or a convention or whatever this was the first time I'd seen them so I did buy some of their liquid pigments which I haven't messed with yet but I hope too soon I need to find the right project for them I think to start

um let's see here where are we at I'm thankful for Uncle Adam Vince and the rest that make these videos as my attempts to get back into the hobby has fallen flat due to time money constraints but I still want to be in the know well I'm glad to hear that that's that's why we're doing it I bought one of those cheaper airbrushes uh though the one I got didn't have a USB power pack but rather the plug in the wall mini compressor it has the same airflow air always on problem though yeah that's the one downside like more expensive uh compressors have a tendency to have some sort of like sensor inside and they can tell when you press and they like mine doesn't have a tank my original airbrush compressor was from the hardware store it was a bright red like pancake style compressor that had a tank that gets filled up so you spray for a while and all of a sudden that tank gets run out and then the motor kicks in to fill the tank back up and it is as loud as everything and it scares the hell out of here so that's no good but it worked fine until all of a sudden it stopped working so that was a bummer um but a regular airbrush compressor sometimes they have a tank but sometimes they're just dialed in so they know as soon as you start spraying then they immediately kick back in and when you stop spraying they stop um and that's a little bit more what you pay for also you don't have to pay for quiet so the quieter they are usually a little bit more expensive they are as well um

other ones though will be just yeah they'll be always kind of running and but it's not terrible I find games with a bunch of rules or really anything over 100 pages is just too much yeah no same here I can just play a video game that keeps track of all that I just want to know if my model was shot and killed yeah honestly I the the issue I have these days sometimes with stuff is also that there's just too much of it I was looking who reached out to me just recently wartel they're a company out of Poland I think that makes a lot of really nice resin stuff too and I've purchased some of their stuff but they reached out to me and I'm kind of chatting a little bit back and forth with them and they I hadn't been to the website in quite some time and I looked and they've got their own webs their own game called what the heck is it called hydrophilia and it's some sort of kind of sci-fi-ish kind of skirmishy game and I was like okay well it's a free download which I think is smart I'm like I'll check that out and it was like a hundred and some Meg and I'm like oh this is going to be a real big book turns out it's only 14 pages long there's just lots and lots of artwork they probably could have um optimize it a little bit better to make it a smaller uh download or whatever but um but yeah it's a it's an interesting kind of like a cyberpunky sort of um you know thing and they're making a line of Miniatures for it but they also make Miniatures for whatever um but yeah so uh 14 pages I think that's that's awesome that's that's great

um and that's again personal preference I'm not saying all games need to be like that I'm just saying I if I look at a rule set and it is really crazy long like um space station zero is like 128 Pages which is in my mind is okay and here's why it's because so much of that is just scenarios the way the game is played space station zero the game events that I made if you haven't heard about it one of the games this first game was rain and hell that was about 64 Pages anyway uh you can go to snarling badger.com and check it out anyway um the reason that that second book was so much thicker than the first book was because of it was not just here are 10 scenarios you can play in whatever order you want it was here are 24 scenarios and it is a branching narrative so you play the first one and then you either choose to go this way this way this way or this way and then again this one if you get the end you have to roll to see which way you go and so there's many different ways and you can keep playing it over and over again and playing different kind of missions and things like that and so that makes sense but the actual rule portion of it is relatively small that's the thing that I think is important if if the rule portion is like well you want to play this game the rules not including scenarios and fluff and all that stuff is a hundred Pages that's way too much that's way too much in my opinion but yeah so I'm not against a thicker book as long as a lot of it is all kinds of cool ranching narratives you know story stuff or fluff if you want to go down that road we keep our games pretty fluff light because we don't you know but

that's fine anyway foreign that's cool hey xavies how you doing uh that blasted camouflage says a brew belt that might be what it's called that sounds about right sure I plan to get back into building and painting units from my epic armies I love painting small so you can game big yeah see I've never been big I don't I don't like painting small I think that's part of the problem um but other people dig it and so I'm glad for that

they call that a heating wrap a firm wrap a firm for fermentation I'm assuming uh let's see here you can usually buy a nice Pache single action airbrush for 50 bucks or less sometimes a nice used one can be bought for 20 to 25 perfect for priming you just need a compressor then yeah I mean and there are definitely kits you can get out there I bought a kit years ago um that was airbrush and compressor and I think the whole thing came to maybe 90 bucks you know that's not bad too foreign good morning and Happy Thanksgiving to the minions how you doing uh what is the connection of disc golf and Miniatures my flgs sells both seems odd um I think that there's some overlap in in fans a fan base and also disc golf Fizz uh doesn't take up a ton of space sometimes I guess you know just they just need a bunch of racks for for frisbees I know that's not the technical term but you know what I'm saying um

found a compendium of the 1997 game with all the rules fixes and extra formatted going to give it a go cost me about 75 pounds to get tyrionid proxies for the Mixed Army there you go that's cool picked up the printed version of space station zero a couple weeks ago and played my first game last night super fun and I can't wait to learn more of it and with all the nuances nice well that's good to hear Hilton Hobbies I appreciate that

so thinking of 3D printers with the sales going on which printer is best for the resin for the intro resin the elugu Mars or any cubic Photon 4K I am that is going to be more of a question to the to the to the viewers I think than me um but he came by the other day and was dumbfounded why I was painting 30 year old Miniatures when I had all this new stuff around and I told him I bought these because I liked them I mean yeah you know like I find that there are few old minis these days where I like them well enough to bother to try to paint them I have a tendency to like stuff that's newer these days for the most part um but there are plenty of folks out there that have got the you know love the Nostalgia or love the Retro action or whatever the deal is you know I there are certain models out there that definitely have a lot of character but sometimes when you start to paint them you're like I don't know what this thing is like is that a part of his belt is that is is that a what is that is that a pouch does he have a tumor it's not a tumor you just you just never know so um yeah that's that's my that's the thing that I don't like about you know older mini sculpts is that sometimes there's just like the detail you're looking at it like that sculpt that I was working on on Friday that um guy from Enigma miniatures like he's a pretty cool like definitely got a lot of character going on to that sculpt he's very cool um but there's a spot where like he's wearing like this really wide kind of bandana and then his hair is kind of coming over the top of it at one point and you can't tell where the hair stops and the bandana starts like on this side

because there's just no detail there and so I'm just like well I'm gonna have to make that up um so yeah tabletop wargaming could be as cheap as pogs on the floor I've got my main two hobby gaming and Home Improvement I don't count fishing or hunting as I only invest time when I am doing those things sure sure foreign

bought the Forbidden song book for solo looks really good I just got the um this is from the folks who do forbidden Psalm and this is what's called the last war it's based off of forbidden psalm's rule set but it is uh like alternate like weird world war one instead of being fantasy you know whatever um they also now have one called kill sample process I think I got that right this time kill sample process is another one that's coming out soon like it did a Kickstarter and you might be able to buy the PDF now but maybe not but the book will be coming out it'll the PDF will be available real soon too this is also available in PDF if you're interested on War Game Vault it's called the last war um but uh and and that kill sample process which is a cyberpunk thing that's also based off of the same rule set basically for forbidden Psalm um but yeah it's like I said World War World War One like weird world war one there's like haunted tanks and giant trench maggots and stuff like that and you play it on a two foot by two foot board so it's nice and small I dig that anyway um that just showed up last week I think

local game store used to be my go-to place to play games over time my crew have split into the Four Winds and I have to drive half an hour to get there so trying to start gaming here at home yeah I get that too excuse me local carries GW Army painter Vallejo game color not much else you know I live near Michigan toy soldier shop a smorgasbord of paint line choices including proactual nice last I heard the new Vallejo paint was supposed to be out by the end of the year they were shooting for November last I heard I guess I got delayed it will probably still have to order online yeah yeah I'm sure if I was to to take a look at it it'd be an online thing I ordered the Vallejo speed paint I'm from Germany and the shop sent me a message that the paints are in the mail well that's good morning the whole Adam have you thought about doing a video on using pigments on minis or any quick thoughts about using them um I have messed around a little bit with dry pigments very little um partially because not really being a display painter dry pigments always make me nervous on gaming Miniatures because they're gonna get rubbed off a lot now uh as an example here's a miniature so I am fine with putting uh uh brushing pigments onto the ground and getting it also on his little tiny boots and all that kind of stuff because as I'm

picking this miniature up I'm picking them up up here or I'm grabbing around the edge of the base but I'm never grabbing him by the ankle or like doing this you know people don't generally pick up Miniatures this way or grab them by these so if there's dry pigment that's kind of around this area I feel like it's a little bit safer away from fingers but if I decided to use it on the top of his head that's coming off it's just gonna come off um and I know you can fix pigments to some degree with like isopropyl and stuff like that and everything but yeah I don't know they make me a little nervous they're again like I said I picked up some of the new green stuff world I bought these at Nova back in September um liquid pigments which are basically a pigment kind of stuff like in a paint that dries down and is very matte and stuff like that and I want to try that stuff a little bit more too um when you are doing display pit painting then dry pigments make a ton of sense because you are also rarely ever touching the actual you know model it has a tendency to sit you know and then you're not like picking it up and moving it over here and using it as a gaming piece so yeah but I don't know I haven't quite gotten the hang of them yet I think but they do have a nice effect when you can make them work

Vallejo silver pay airbrush paint is the one you really like yeah the Vallejo model metallic air they make two colors that are my favorites are silver and chrome and they are and come in the little squeeze bottles and all that stuff and I like them a lot hello from Portugal have you seen the Elden ring Miniatures and what are your thoughts on them um I knew that they made a board game or whatever I haven't seen the Miniatures per se um I got a copy of the Dark Souls game from Steam forged way back in the day when it came out and um the models are fine but because of the type of plastic they use they have a tendency like they're good sculpts but sometimes they're bad models you know because like things in the packaging will bend and then you have to like heat them up with like a you have to like boil a bunch of water in your microwave or something like that and then dunk the model in there and let it get all Wiggly and sort of you know soft and then try to straighten things out and then dunk it into cold water and hope that it stays that way and it will for a while but it'll eventually kind of go back I've had I can't tell you how many times I've had models that have had like that are made out of like cheaper plastic and they come with a bent sword and you're like well I can fix that you do the thing with the hot water and the cold water and you get it nice and straight again everything's great and then seriously three months later it's like back at the like that and so um I don't know I it's I'm glad that they're doing it I mean it's cool that they're doing that kind of stuff people it's a good Gateway game for people who

are like I like Elden Ring the video game maybe I'll like the board game and then you know maybe they end up starting to paint Miniatures and stuff like that that can happen um but yeah I don't know um I haven't played Elden ring at all the video game I've watched it a bit online but I have not played it I'm not good enough for those games anymore I think

um Christmas lines up on an every other Sunday show does it oh my goodness well we'll have to figure that one out won't we yeah you're right the next every other Sunday show also will very possibly be from Vince's house because I will be at Vince's place um so we're gonna have to figure that out but on the other hand uh it may be a every other Sunday show with me and Vince and Sam and maniac and ninjan that would be something wouldn't it so we'll see how that goes um

where was I gotta get my tux to the dry cleaners for the awards show very very fancy I actually was just looking for a shirt to put on recently and I was like oh well this is my fancy awards show a t-shirt so I gotta not wear that right now um

I'm very behind on chatter let's see here um waffles and joyer says hey I caught Adam live nice glad to see you um how do you feel about Kit bashing minis I like it I do it sometimes like not lately it's been I've been working on specific projects that don't necessarily need it but I do enjoy doing it um because I've been working on let's see I worked on all those uh chaos guys lately those chaos cultists and then now I'm working on a bunch of other models that were already pre-built so I could get bash them but not uh and then I'm also working on now those lizard dudes for the for war cry um but yeah when I'm doing like especially stuff like when I start working on the models for last war they're gonna the the base of those models like the starting spot on those models is going to be Miniatures from Morgan Atlantic they have some World War One minis some French guys and I think some German guys and that's going to be the start but then I'm going to kind of Kit bash them and make them look because again it's weird world war one so they aren't going to look exactly like regular World War One guys you know what I mean um Noble Knight in Madison sells green stuff for old paints oh no kidding I've never been to their actual store

game Universe stores in Milwaukee bought into the green stuff World stuff instead of Turbo dark stuff huh okay yeah I haven't I haven't been to a game Universe in a long time I got a friend who works at one I should probably stop there one of these days uh the flgs and the town over carries green stuff world mostly rollers but also some of the paints and color shifters that's cool how old were you when you painted your first mini do you still have it for motivation um second question answer is yes I do still have it actually it's on my hobby desk and it was a battle Tech Atlas uh how old was I when I painted I think I was in college so probably 19 ish maybe 20 something like that

I finished I finished kit bashing two Servo arm backpacks for these ancient Tech Marines the one with the silly wrench and the dude who's looking at his watch and like it's like hmm it's almost break time that's what he's doing he's looking at his watch like this hmm uh do you still use baking soda and cat litter to texture your bases I'm working on space now minis from reptilian overlords I don't use baking soda as much these days because although all of the um chaos cultists that I just finished were all chaos Are all uh baking soda bases but generally I use I still use kitty litter a lot um a lot of the science fiction stuff that I work on these days I keep the bases very simple I use like GW style bases they already have like a very subtle texture to them which is like asphalt as far as I'm concerned that's what you know Road or parking lot or whatever looks like um and then because it's a battle there's going to be Rubble around and stuff like that and so then I use a little bit of um uh kitty litter maybe even some little tiny pieces of cork that are like torn up and stuff like that to make it look like that and then um sometimes I will use the fine uh texture basing paste stuff from Monument Hobbies if I want a little bit more um but if I'm looking for something to make it look like sand or I'm looking for something to look like ash then I do still use um the baking soda stuff but lately I've been looking for things to be a little

bit more urban in those situations but I'm doing fantasy stuff then most of my all my war cry related kind of fantasy stuff has got its own kind of basing style to it which is very again frequently a good deal of cork like crumbled up pieces of cork so you don't see the flat Edge at all I really just rip it all apart and stuff and then um uh some of that fine basing texture stuff for monument and then I paint them Brown and then I wash them Brown and then a little bit of black wash and then I go back and I do some dry brushing and this and that and so I've got my kind of styles for which way I'm going but if I start going into doing like stuff on Sand like all of my all of my uh Star Wars Legion models that I painted I painted an 800 point force for the Stormtrooper you know guys those guys were all done on like a Tatooine kind of sand so they were all done with uh the you know baking soda and CA glue I recently worked on condensing War Machine Mark III into Mark 3.99 took it from 80 Pages down to five nice

I'm not a fan of all the mental math involved in most War slash skirmish games core space from Battle systems does away with that nice yeah I mean and some people love that kind of crunch and some people are just like nope I don't want that stuff and it I find that rules are very important I know there are people out there who will play a game because oh I love the lore I don't care about the models and the rules there are other people out there who will play a game because of the models they don't care about the lore and the rules and then there are people out there who play a game because of the rules and maybe don't care so much about the models and the uh and the lore I I find rules to be very important um I find Miniatures to be very important but I also am a big fan of model agnostic or miniature agnostic games because then I can use Miniatures from all kinds of different companies and stuff like that um so I find still find the major is important but I don't find that I have to have the Miniatures that come with this game hence the mini agnostic thing but a good rule set is very important to me if this rule set doesn't make sense if there's a bunch of weird rules in it that just don't flow right in my opinion or whatever I have a tendency to to just be like oh okay well I'm not going to play that you know like I gotta be honest like you know Infinity has never I've tried three different times to like I've done demos of infinity and they've just there's something about the rule set and I've not tried fourth edition but Third Edition and I think second edition I tried and just there's something about the rule set that doesn't make sense to me there's just things that I'm like this is not how

this should work in my mind and so it throws me out of the game so I'm not immersed or whatever and so that's that's Troublesome um but yeah there are some people who are like no I'm all about playing Space Marines I don't care how good the rules are how bad the rules are or whatever that's just what I do and then that's fine too but that's not how I do it

um Kelly how you doing disc golf is one of my many hobbies gotcha custom dies for the discs is popular really still working on why gel soft stores sell e-scooters I don't know what a gel soft store is I think I know what e squares are um hello Uncle Adam just popped in we wanted to tell you how much I love rain and Hell been putting in a ton of hobby time into combat kit bashing some bloodletter demons and it's so fun well it's good to hear Magnus I appreciate that thank you very much Adam I've printed and built several uh grimdark feature firefight yep yep yep uh teams now having a blast with the customization have you played the fantasy version or are you sticking to war cry yeah I have not played the fantasy version no um I've only ever played the Grim dark future firefight if he's nurgle it's probably a tumor yeah he's not an ergo I don't think after this is over I'm rebuilding a poll building for my display going to be a total detail job much better than it was before not enough room to say everything I'm going to do it here nice

um I used to work with a trench maggot huh JP got Rockets how you doing uh Morgan's Atlantic is getting ready to put out a core War plastic soldier set they are a weird world war one style bird-like I don't know if they're Birds I think they're more like um ant eaters is what I've always kind of felt that they are more like but yeah no I saw that I got I got interested in this quorz war which zombiesmith games is the the company that started all that and they've been making the core the quar core choir whenever models for quite some time and they're really cool and um but they're like totally like yeah it is like World War One except fought between these sort of sad looking kind of like bipedal Ant Eater people and uh it's I don't know they it's it's just an interesting concept I've always been kind of interested in it and I bought into some of it at a convention I was at I think it was Las Vegas open in maybe 2019 or something like that but the Miniatures were all metal and I remember I started working on some of them and like the the head so it's again like an anteater type of head he's wearing like a little hat and stuff and then it's like the thing goes down and then there's like a divot to put his to glue his head into his neck but it's just again like a ball like at the end of his neck is just rounded and then it just kind of goes into a socket that's sort of big so you're just metal just on metal so you'd have to either pin it or throw green stuff in there and I started messing with it and I was having bad luck trying to just trying to

get their heads attached to their bodies you know and I was like you can't use plastic cement obviously because it's not plastic it's metal and so it was just a real problem and then I sort of fell apart and stopped doing it well the fact that they're now finally doing plastics for them which is awesome yeah I could see myself heading back in that direction again because it is a cool concept and the rules I liked when I read them originally and so they've probably also updated them some because like I said last time I read the rules was probably five years ago so um so yeah I'm looking forward to that as well and the big benefit is I should be able to use a lot of the train that I use for or that I'm going to build for last war I can use a lot of that Terrain in this car's War as well so there you go boom two for one um anyone in the chat have any idea when the Escher Jet bike will see the light of day I don't know either yeah I mean you know like they were like oh yeah we're releasing these and then I think they're stuck on a boat someplace or something I'm not sure what but I have not heard I'm hoping I guess December oh yeah I don't know

um but it but their trench warfare with simple tanks and artillery what who um you ever use the Target brand paints on minis Mondo llama I've never heard of those no I didn't think I was good enough for Eldon ring either but it was the most enjoyable gaming experience I've had in a long time oh nice that's pretty cool

um you'll need a moderator for that group like herding cats well yeah maybe we could potentially get um yeah maybe uh uh uh Vince's wife Kathy would be interested in in moderating us like with a stick just poking um anyone tried the Skyrim tabletop game looking for Christmas ideas I I don't know if well so there's a Elden or not Elden ring sorry Elder Scrolls miniature game from modiphius if that's what you're talking about I mean it's it's Skyrim but they don't call it Skyrim they call it Elder Scrolls um but yeah I have not played it though will that be live from vinceycon I mean probably I guess hmm I should talk to him about it tonight we're going to get together I think tonight and chat about it um hmm because one thing would be to change the schedule a little bit again which would be annoying but then it wouldn't happen on Vincy con and on Christmas you see what I'm saying so if we shifted it again yeah let me let me chat with him tonight about it we'll figure it out have you tried the drown to Earth tabletop game Peter at the esoteric uh esoteric order of Gamers has made a few videos on it looks interesting I think I watched a demo of it at some convention potentially some time ago it might have been Gen Con maybe pre-pandemic so I'm I'm Vaguely Familiar with it but I don't

know a ton about it I built like 50 models of the last couple of weeks I'm trying to get my brain over the super high detail nurgle I've been painting to remember that my black Templars are way simpler to paint sure sure I thought it was more like a Caterpillar construction crane with a huge armored box containing a Howitzer in place of the crane box I don't know what that's related to at all but that's pretty cool um any thoughts on using black contrast paints over metallic xenophile highlights for that slap Chopper Army paint I mean I wouldn't use black Legion black Legion is far more opaque than black Templar but using black Templar over opaques especially if you could maybe if you could I don't say water it down a little bit but if you could definitely knock a little bit of that off uh thin it a little bit with some of that contrast medium or something like that that could actually be kind of cool because then you would get us like a metallic black almost you know which is the best white paint in my opinion it is the white paint from Monument Hobbies which is called bold titanium white it is literally I bought that one bottle at a convention to try out Monument paints so I'm like well because because I've always felt like if a company can make a good white paint they can probably do fine on the rest of them if their white paint is no good that's an indicator on the rest of the colors because White's hard to do so I bought a bottle of it at I think Las Vegas open 2019 and then I came back the next year and they had a booth again at Las Vegas because they're

based out of Arizona so it's pretty close for them and I bought I ordered I did not buy it there but I prepaid for it and ordered it and they shipped it to me like the entire rest of the monument line and so Monument has been my favorite opaque paints for well since 2020 at least actually technically from since 2019 but from 2020 at least when I got them yeah they're they're my favorite paints

uh I just picked up some turbo door some more turbo dork paint yesterday very excited to use it on a new project nice rubbing crayons on metal minis isn't a thing nowadays yes I am old enough to recall that yeah I don't know I mean I've seen people use um watercolor pencils for Edge highlighting sometimes I've also seen people use regular like normal like lead style pencils like a like a 2B you know or whatever um and that is to make the edges of models look like a little bit like the paint's worn off on the edges so you're seeing metal underneath I've seen people do that but I've never seen people do crayons just ordered a bunch of war game exclusive minis they seem to have a mix of their own stuff as well as 3D print and cell service they have other artists pretty cool yeah a lot of people are doing that too like that wrtl stuff you know I noticed that they're also starting to do more they're starting to do stl's things as well and so are um Anvil industry um yeah no it's it's uh I think it's smart if you're gonna be sitting there sculpting anyway you know also putting out some stuff for 3D print that people will buy you know that you don't have to ship anywhere you don't have to Warehouse it you don't have to manufacture it it just makes a lot of sense foreign I still use straight Builders sand and thinned white glue on my bases along with bits of tank bits cut to appear sunk into the train that's always a fun I like doing that or skulls and skeleton bits yep yep uh gel Soft gel Blaster toy weapons some

stores also sell e-scooters e-scooters or electric scooters well I got that part but I didn't know what gel soft was it's like but it's like Airsoft but with like gel huh weird my son just woke up he's going to start slap chopping a runt herd from 40K he's six nice he says good morning well good morning to him as well zombie Smith also has lots of Minis that would be great with space station zero yeah no you're not you're not wrong they had another game that was like a Sci-Fi game that was pretty cool I can't remember what it was called but

um hello Uncle excuse me hello Uncle Adam currently working on Harvard nice Uncle Adam this is a weird question but would you recommend Oshkosh as a good place to live I've been looking further and further out from Milwaukee because home prices are dumb here um I'd like it you know I've been here since I've was four uh and so yeah when I mentioned recently that I've and I think it was in Friday's video that I've lived here for nearly half a century yeah it's been here a long time um I you know I think it's a good place uh I know that I think Sam has a preference for Appleton which is a little bit north here um and he lived here for a while and he's moved back to Appleton but um yeah I mean and you're right home prices are considerably cheaper generally I mean they're not as cheap as they were I think you know 2008 and all that kind of stuff you know definitely lowered a lot of home prices we happened to buy our house in 2010 so that was at probably a good time but right now things are probably a little bit higher but they're probably gonna go down again a little bit so you know but yeah it depends um let's see here mixing and shaking paints before you use them is important very true very true do you have any recommendations for paint shakers I have a typhoon mixer which is very heavy um it is very powerful and was probably a touch too expensive well I mean it's not like the guy basically and he sells

them I think on eBay he buys these things like used takes them all apart redoes all the insides repaints them does the whole thing repackages them and sends them out and they're nice but excuse me um uh the vortex style mixers which are considerably cheaper um also do really good work and you know so and they're not as heavy so there's that too

is there a mystery game out there that's like necromonda but not GW and will allow some of my models to throw an opponent from a walkway or Tower the throwing part I don't know a ton about there is a game out there uh one page rules makes a game called gang war which I think is an add-on to grimdark Future fire fight which is their sci-fi Skirmish game gang war is supposed to be basically a necromonda thing but like I said I think it's an add-on I don't think it's a standalone but I don't know that for sure um and I don't know if you can throw guys off of stuff but definitely in groomed our future firefight There are rules for people being like shot off of like Ledges and stuff like that and there maybe is throwing two maybe it's something you could house rule if you really wanted to but yeah I would maybe take a look at that

um let's see here why would you use any other craft paint in the US when an apple Barrel exists I don't really use craft paint too much I have a tendency to use paint design for Miniatures because of the size of the um I was going to say pixels but that's not right the size of the particles the uh the pigments um craft paints I use craft paints on terrain very frequently because it's a lot cheaper and terrain has a tends to be bigger but um yeah craft paints have pretty big pigments which when you're putting them on a guy who's only this tall it makes things look real chalky and stuff like that so I have a tendency to use more um I mean I gotta be honest I'm getting to the point now where I'm pretty fussy about texture a lot because I do so much painting where I am you know doing an airbrush thing and then putting contrasts and washes over the top which are super super super thin obviously compared to even like you know stuff like uh like regular opaque paints um so yeah one of the reasons why I really like the monument opaque paints is because they are very dense but also very smooth I don't know how they do it some sort of crazy magic but um but yeah I saw that was a Kickstarter for tabletop version of The Last of Us video game maybe uh might be the one that'll trick my daughter into this hobby nice I mean those kind of games you know that is part of the idea to some degree is I mean that's not what they make them particularly they make them because people who like to video game might be like oh cool I'll buy this if they're

already in the hobby but sometimes it does the same thing where it becomes a Gateway game where someone is like I like this video game so I'll buy this Elden ring board game that has Miniatures in it and then maybe they'll be like at some point I'm like well these would be kind of cool to paint you know because I saw people painting online that kind of stuff so sometimes that sometimes that works it heads people down that road

um let's see here Elder Scrolls Call to Arms a great game and there's 10 minis in terrain on Etsy to supplement it Asgard risings and many is an amazing 3D printed range for um for Elder Scrolls that's pretty cool I am starting to get my group into mordheim have you played the game sure years and years ago any thoughts on doing a standalone games or campaigns I don't know what Standalone um we always had the issue with mordheim where there was like certain we had a lot of house rules because there were like certain forces that we were just like yeah nobody gets to play this Force because they're overpowered and unbalanced you know and then there's this and that so it is kind of important in that game especially since it's at this point kind of old it's very important to maybe understand that you're going to probably need some house rules and that's okay just as long as everybody kind of agrees and everything it makes sense that titanium white is life-changing yeah it's a really really good white paint let's see here sometimes you like to pick a product up and hold it in hand and buy it in person sure sure yeah I like I have a hard time um with paints I don't like to just well sometimes with paints I don't like to just buy them just off I'm not going to go online and be like oh this is a paint line I've never heard of before so I'm going to just order it and go to town um if I've seen maybe a bunch of reviews

about it then that's maybe a different story um but because people ask me about all kinds of paint lines all the time and I'm like I don't I don't know anybody who uses it I don't can't get it any place locally because again in many situations you can't order like you either you buy it in kits like here's a bunch of paints that come out but sometimes you can buy single bottles but then sometimes you just buy a single bottle the the shipping can be really expensive so if I can find it at a store pick up a single bottle or a couple bottles come home mess with it and go oh this is pretty good or oh this isn't very good at all or whatever then I feel a little bit better about it but just being like Oh I want to buy like a pack of 30 paints or even you know 10 from a company like the stuff that like scale 75 does where they sell them always in those like I think is it six or eight bottles I'm always like I don't know if I want to go down that road so quickly and and have eight bottles of like oh I don't like this stuff and now I'm stuck with it so I don't know have you ever done an air fix kit or something familiar similar same thing as minis but only for display I have seen some of that stuff at the hobby store years ago but it's not been for a while I haven't seen airfix since like in person in quite some time anyone no good place to order scale expanded metal not sure what to call it when looking I don't know what that is expanded metal scale is it like like i-beams and stuff like that or is it like trusses I know for i-beams and things like that you can buy plastic i-beams through a company it's uh it's mainly people use it a lot in like train

like model train boards and stuff like that uh Evergreen I believe is the name of the company that makes a lot of plastic card and also like you know if you're talking about i-beams I don't know what expanded metal is otherwise but if that's what it is you can get stuff like that through a company called Evergreen they're the manufacturer um you can usually find it at like places that sell model train stuff so if you have a like a HobbyTown USA or something like that that sells model trains they very probably carry uh Evergreen stuff as well I believe it's called Evergreen

I must have clicked the button on my with my wrist um it's like Airsoft but uses balls that expand in water and is legal in Queensland where Airsoft isn't oh nice uh thanks to you Uncle Adam I've been a champion for Star Wars Legion I got four factions with some Miniatures painted with my brother my friends willing to play me working on on B1 drives it at the moment nice

um let's see here Sam was very vocal of his dislike of Oshkosh yeah I I don't yeah it's you know Different Strokes for different folks for paint mixer go buy a Sawzall from a garage sale or a Sawzall I bet she has what you get a full blade clamp or tape your yeah I've seen people who use um uh jigsaws they'll use like a jigsaw and they'll take like the smallest little bar clamp that they can get and they will have to grind it down even a little bit so that the the the end of it fits up into where the blade for the um jigsaw would go and then you just have this clamp and you put a bottle in there and you clamp it and then you go like this and then it Wiggles it back and forth a lot that's fine yeah um I've also had a friend who used a tabletop um jigsaw and he like there's the you know the blade goes up and down but there's like a thing on the side kind of that goes up and down with it and he like maybe hot glued like a pill bottle to it or something like that that was big enough that he could slide a like a you know dropper bottle inside and then put the top on of the pill bottle and then turn it on and bounce it up and down all that kind of stuff you can do that for sure you know the little Vortex mixers that you get on Amazon are maybe 60 bucks and they are you plug them in and they they're very nice um you know so that's that's also a thing too

Dead Zone has throwing oh that's pretty cool okay yeah I still haven't got a chance to play dead zone I own Dead Zone uh uh I bought into the original Dead Zone built the terrain built plague versus enforcers we were gonna play it at adepticon one year I brought all this stuff I set it all up we had had a little bit too much to drink and the rules were confusing to us because we were a little bit befuddled and then we didn't play we played this other game that was kind of like Jenga uh that was called um click clack Lumberjack which was a lot of fun um it was a little bit more our speed at that particular point of the evening um and then I bought Second Edition rules when they came out and then never got a chance to play and now Third Edition rules are out and I own those as well and still have not really got a chance to play so um I'm kind of surprised they've updated the rules so many times in that period of time but you know um tuning in from Christchurch New Zealand finally woke up early enough to catch and every other Sunday nice I was talking to my wife's aunt uh during Thanksgiving and this upcoming spring she and her husband are going to flying to Auckland New Zealand from Chicago they found a flight from Chicago direct to Auckland which I didn't even I'm like I still I'm stunned that that's a thing we but anyway yeah um it's like 17 hours or something like

that so that's uh um that is uh that is surprise I always thought you had to basically fly at least in America to basically LA and then get to Australia and New Zealand and stuff like that but evidently you can do it out of Chicago I'm Amazed rainy day in Pennsylvania heading to the local comic store with tabletop Minions on in the car nice oops everything scrolled again um

where did it go okay uh as a rule I never shake the Citadel paints wash is fine but shaking the paints needs to fall in the lid so they cannot close properly leading to early drying out and to waste I mean I don't use those Citadel opaques anymore so that probably helps I shake the washes in the contrasts though but yeah foreign craft paint for terrain oh sure yeah like I said I used craft paint for terrain yeah yeah

you knock people off in war cry that's true yeah that's true if you're looking for sci-fi that's not gonna work but yeah in war cry you can definitely knock people off of stuff and whatnot for sure doing a no new purchases rule for the next year after renovating my home office and seeing just how much crap I have no that's that's not you know um how do people how do you people get rid of all your extra stuff thinking about donating it I mean donating is not a bad idea but um you can also take a look at eBay you know my wife got Imperial assault for me since I like Star Wars and she said it looks like people paint the minis too and now here we are see that's how that works exactly yeah would you suggest monuments warm flesh for elves for Eldar that skin tone is so hard for me warm flesh I'm not familiar with that color like I use olive flesh all the time which is really not well I mean I use it but not for so much for skin I use it for all kinds of other things uh Shadow flesh I've used from them too but again like for the tails on um I think skaven um hmm I don't I don't I should check and see I'm assuming I have it but I might not I'm using titanium white right now Jason the old in your Monument is a super Stellar dude indeed he is uh and and also Jen too uh he goes to Warhammer girls Valhalla and lets you test the paint he spends a great deal of time painting yeah I was I think that this might have been the first year that he went to Valhalla although maybe he might

have been there last year I haven't been the last two years and I kind of wish that I had been there so um but uh it just hasn't worked out the last couple of years I like minis I can use in my wargaming but also in my role playing feels good to get lots of use out of them oh yeah being able to double dip or triple dip or whatever with Miniatures is again one of the big reasons that I'm a big fan of model agnostic stuff because you can be like I'm gonna pay to bunch of these cool sci-fi guys I'm going to use them in space station zero I'm going to use them in um space weirdos I'm going to use them in Planet 28 I'm going to use them in grimdar future firefight you know like it's really nice to be able to just move these models around back and forth between stuff and I like that a lot

I found Vince's guide to paint really useful and it saved me a lot of money Vince is very smart squidmar did a comprehensive review on paint lines it's worth checking out nice I use proactyl pretty much exclusively now uh I keep a few paints from other ranges but I am starting to sell all the unused ones I mean for opaque paints it's pretty much exclusively Monument when I find because I don't like to blend colors I don't like to mix colors it's just a thing when I can't find a color from Monument then I have a tendency to pull it from um army painter because Army painters opaque line is 120 or 130 different colors so they've got a lot of different colors um but those are like the main two uh that I and then Vallejo I use some of their colors for certain things here and there the again the opaque ones non-metallics and stuff like that um as far as like transparency type paints go it's for me Citadel washes I use those predominantly the old ones as well not the new ones as much and then contrasts I love using contrast paints all the time I use Army painter speed paints they almost all constantly just sit in my airbrush room because they're already in dropper bottles so it's really easy to put them into my airbrush and then spray them over like as a bit of a filter or whatever whereas I've done that in the past with contrast paints but you have to get it out of the bot the pot and into the it's kind of hard whereas dropper bottles are actually great for that but I don't use the dropper bottle

paints nearly as much for normal painting because I want to just dip my brush into the pot and then put it onto the model and I just don't like so yeah like I don't like washes in a dropper bottle but I don't like regular paints not in a dropper bottle it's kind of weird um foreign

other than traditional model kits any Miniatures that I should grab to let my five-year-old nephew get the feel of putting a mini together he saw my Horus heresy box that it immediately wanted Marines um I mean I could I tell you to go and look on eBay a little bit you know uh and look around for some older like Space Marines like Space Marine kits like um the easy kind of go-together ones a search to do I would tell you would be assault on black reach so if you type in Warhammer assault on black reach you will probably and that's like fifth edition of starter box I believe and a lot of those Space Marines are really easy to put together they're like Head Shoulders chest legs and then you glue on like the gun on the front and then the backpack and then so it's like literally like a three-piece model but you know if you're a little kid that's still you're putting together Space Marines and it's pretty cool and you can usually find them for relatively inexpensive on um on eBay but yeah assault on black reach

I have a jigsaw and a bar on a tiny clamp fits right in the blade slot and then you just lock it in place maybe 15 bucks on the Shaker rig that's pretty cool add a steel bearing shake it by hand then on the vortex then some more shaking nail polish Shaker put the paint in turn on walk away yeah those can be kind of cool too I've heard of those I think my friend Matt has one of those oops everything's scrolled again um let's see here uh I got an Amazon Vortex mixer for Father's Day one year and I'm a big fan of what it does for paint texture nice mobile crisis protocol has throwing on specific characters as a special power yeah that's true that's true

I found a Vortex thinger on Amazon for 38 bucks think I'm going to move on that there you go hello from Ireland did you back mutant year zero no the name sounds Vaguely Familiar but I don't really know anything about it um let's see here test fitting flash Master blades to an existing handle there you go any advice for starting a model agnostic League at the local game store I'd love to get a casual beginner friendly league going um to get people into miniature agnostic style games specifically you will probably have to paint up both forces um and I would tell you it would probably be a good idea to start by just trying to teach people like whatever the game is let's say it's scrimdark feature firefight for example um you would be able to you need to make two forces terrain the whole jam and then be like try to convince people at the shop or whatever hey you want to try this out you know I've got everything you need to start I got Dice and everything and the whole deal and get them into the concept of like oh this is actually fun you know I'm enjoying this and then maybe start talking about a league once you get people down that road um the other benefit honestly to using something like Grim dark future firefight is that you it's it is designed you don't have to but it is designed to make it quite simple for you to take your um Miniatures and you know like your your 40K stuff and use it in that game it's kind of

designed for that so for sure alrighty folks it's actually a little bit after 11 here I missed it I missed the clock a little bit um so I want to thank um everybody for coming by and hanging out and uh you know we kind of talked a little bit about things we're thankful for I appreciate that you know again Thanksgiving it was on my mind I made this um I I found this I this is like one of those AI art apps and I just told that I wanted an evil turkey and I got that and it's not exactly that evil I mean he's not exactly that turkey either I don't know he's kind of a bird if you guys were wondering what the heck that was it's one of those weird AI apps that always makes things look kind of unsettling so you know got that going for me which is nice um but yeah absolutely so thanks to everybody for coming by and like I said I'm gonna try to figure out if we need to change the schedule again or if we're just gonna do I don't know maybe we'll do uh maybe we'll have to move it for Christmas but we'll still do it from vinceycon because we'll be able to see everybody like I said I'll talk to Vince about that tonight we'll see how that goes um but yeah I want to thank everybody for coming by and hanging out and chatting and I appreciate it I hope you folks have a good rest of your day even if it's Sunday or Monday depends on where you live um and um yeah that should be pretty much about it we'll see you again hopefully in two weeks but we'll figure out how that works maybe it'll be one week I don't know we'll figure it out uh that's pretty much it and I'm gonna go and um probably have some lunch soon so thanks for watching and we'll see you guys again pretty soon
