This board game is deceptively tricky! π¬π·ποΈπΊπΏ #boardgames #tabletopgames #gamenight
Where the Ionian Sea meets the shore, Greek colonists and Atruscan warriors prepare for battle. This is a game of strategy who'll decide who holds the most sway. This is a two-player abstract game called Patel. One player commands the 24 Greek hoplights led by the Stratagos and the other commands the 24 Atruscan fighters led by the Lars.
The aim of this game is to capture nine of your opponent's pieces or render them immo. This game is super simple. On your turn, you can move one of your pieces horizontally or vertically any number of unobstructed spaces. Each player has a leader piece. The leader piece can move and capture like a regular piece, but can also jump over other pieces, too, in a straight, vertical, or horizontal line.
The way you capture your opponent pieces in this game is by wedging them between two of your own pieces. This allows you to remove them from the game. You can also create multiple flanks or pieces if you line up these captures that connect them both horizontally and vertically. It's a game of strategic positioning on this grid of mayhem.
There are multiple ways that the game can end, multiple ways that you can lose the game. Your opponent can block your leader piece on all four sides. You might have no more active soldier pieces left on the map, or you simply can't make a legal move.
