Stellar Expedition - Mission Stellar, 3x and Pool Building
hi graduates it's stella from meeple university and this is stella's short and sweet preview for my expedition i meant stellar expedition from wolf on games the word is out the gate that was discovered many months ago in orion galaxy activates those sci-fi tv shows like stargate is actually based on the truth [Music] the gate grants access to the new galaxy to explore but be quick it only opens for a short amount of time the game plays two to four players with mechanics such as poor building modular board and 3x the game is of medium complexity in stellar expedition players are affection in orion galaxy trying to explore planets expand their territories exploit resources and recruit crews to have the most points by completing their personal objectives it's mainly a pool building game trying to gain and play combination of icons from chip upgrades and crew member cards recruited while exploring and generating resources to complete personal but phased out missions game goes for eight rounds and each round player starts by producing resources from where their embassy buildings are at collecting the ones from home planet and where their spaceship currently is and can move around to collect the rest later then from first player each player places discovery tiles around their spaceships usually planets to explore or other space items like wormholes then each player rolls the dice to see what bonus or maybe good or bad event they get then the command phase where the meat of the game happens from starting player player can move to adjacent planet one free move per turn or cost resources if more build embassies where their ship is pay the resources complete personal missions usually by playing crew member cards replace a mission with a new one and so on building embassies is the main way to gain resources and icons from crew member cards each embassy built on a planet gives you a matching crew member card up to three embassies and three cards a lot of the actions require players to play cards from hand to the used area matching and spending the icons needed for missions and resolving encounters some grant bonuses if completed with extra icons others require players to spend some of their three different resources raw materials crystal and influence at the end of the round players take all or most of their crew member cards back after eight rounds players get points from the missions they completed and the embassies they built and whoever has the most points has exploited the galaxy the most and become the legend of stellar expedition game has a little bit of luck nothing to measure for example coming from random encountered cards that can cause injury to crew member and damage playership which handicaps players at certain actions or needing to pay resources to fix strategy i think comes from building embassies on the planet you can see is going to bring crew member cards with the correct icons you need having influence resources so you can keep exchanging mission cards till you find ones that you can more easily complete you can also take a secret mission by paying more influence so no one can potentially sabotage you there's an interesting mix of space or hex grid explorations comboing with the pool building element in the game and there was enough flexibility on what you can do in the hex grid although it has a lot of differences it feels a bit like dwellings of elderfell in that way one thing worth mentioning is that the final copy of the game will be produced under the eco-friendly game label that means no plastic fsc certified wood and paper and plant-based biodegradable inks for printing so explorers are you ready to go through the gauge and start your stellar expeditions so thanks for watching folks check out stellar expedition on kickstarter i'll put the link in the description below the components featured in this video are prototype so rules and network are not final you and help us buy like the video subscribe and hit the bell and comments below if you find this video useful i also share my board games jenny on instagram hopefully i will see you there too see you next time
