hello Gamers I'm John Carlo and I'm Felicia and this is our review of The Lord of the Rings the deck building game she's got Fellowship of the Ring and I got the two towers baby in The Lord of the Rings deck building game players are trying to defeat as many enemies as they can in the box you'll get 31 starting courage cards which give you one power 16 Valor cards which give you plus two power 16 despair starting cards which do nothing but hinder you 20 corruption cards which give you minus one victory points 12 Archen enemy cards which are the guys you're trying to defeat eight additional impossible moan enemies which are harder seven unique Heroes to choose from with their starting weapon cards and finally a main deck of cards which include 116 cards these cards are artifacts ey Liv enemies Maneuvers fortune and locations the game ends when you defeat lurs or the center row can't be filled here's how to set up each player is deal a random hero card now each player will get six courage cards three despair cards and their starting artifact card this will form everyone's starting deck of 10 cards now Shuffle the main deck and place it in the middle of the table flip over the top five cards to create what is called the path the area where you can buy cards from next to that place the stack of Valor cards these can be bought as well during the game Let's form the arch enemy deck play slurs face

down he's the last boss randomly Place three level three face down alerts then do the same with the level two enemies and finally place the nas schol starting Arch Enemy card face up on top if there is a fortune card in the path at the start of the game put it under deck and draw a new card to replace it finally place the corruption stack next to the Valor stack each player draws five cards and your now ready to start your quest on your turn you play your cards from your hand each card you play will do an action and can also give you power add up your power and see if you can purchase a card from the path at that cost if you have five powers for example you can buy a card costing five or you can buy more cards adding up to five power those cards go to your discard along with cards playes and cards left over in your hand at the end of your turn you replenish your hand to five cards and refill the path rope if you can't draw any more cards from your deck you shuffle your card pile into it to form a new deck so the cards you gain are cards that will go into your deck eventually let's look at some of the cards some cards allow you to do attacks on other players however those player can reply with a defense card if they have it in their hand some enemy cards will have the Ambush trait if you flip these into the path at the end of your turn the next player gets attacked by those cards at the start of his turn the fortune cards cost zero to gain once bought you must do the action on it immediately these are pretty powerful ful cards which come to the lucky players during the game some cards and attacks will add corruption cards to your discard deck which will lead to

negative victory points at the end of the game so try to avoid getting these the location cards go into your discard pile when bought but when you play them from your hand they become permanent cards and remain face up in front of you during the game these locations will give you constant special abilities let's take a look at the Archen enemy stack the top card is what players are trying to defeat if you ever gain enough power during a turn to defeat an arc enemy you can do so by taking that card and placing it in your discard pile these are now your cards and are worth valuable victory points at the end of the game at the end of your turn you'll reveal the next Archen enemy and they will usually do a group Ambush which targets all players here you can use defense cards to avoid the attack play continues until the final boss is defeated or if the main deck Runs Out Of Cards each player counts the amount of victory points in their deck and the player with the most becomes the legendary hero of Lord of the Rings The Two Towers is another game with similar gameplay but adds two new mechanics the wall and the One Ring the One Ring card is placed to the side at the start of the game some cards will allow you to place that card in front of you giving you a plus one bonus to power or can be used to block an attack which brings the card back to its starting area now the wall at Helms Deep is a deck of wall cards formed at the start of the game some cards will call upon drawing the top wall cards and doing its effect these are negative effects and you should have defensive cards or the ring to try and avoid them if a player ever

draws the breached card he's really unlucky this card sticks to him and some cards are affected if the wall has been breached the rule book will explain how to combine both box set into one or separating them to make a game night for two games following the two movies storyline a Lord of the Rings has the same basic mechanics as the DC deck building game just with a different team some changes we liked were the new Ambush attacks and more player interaction the screenshots are straight from the movie but the card design and layout is perfect for this game the production quality of the cards is good and the impossible version of the enemies adds to replay value there is a lot of luck in this game and we consider it to be very casual gaming experience which can be enjoyed with Lord of the Rings fans easy to teach and the games are not very long if you want to bring someone you know into gaming and that person likes Lord of the Rings this is the game to get them we're giving it seven Hobbits out of 10
