And I think we are live. Good evening everybody. Thank you very much for joining us for a fourplayer tutorial and playthrough of Baantion which is coming to Gamefound next week. There is a link to it in the description of this video. Rob's joining me tonight and Chris and Kath. >> Me, Chris, and Cath have played it this afternoon.
Rob hasn't, >> but you've read through the rule book, so we should be okay. We have the designer or designers watching, so we should be okay. But this is a prototype. This is not a finished game. Uh, it might look very nice, but it is not quite finished. So, please bear that in mind. Check out the game found campaign for the full details of what it's actually going to look like.
For example, this map has already changed. So, they want me to tell you that if you look at this map closely, and you might not see it from the overhead camera, but these regions are going to have big names in them. Right now we have tiny little city names which are referred to on the cards. They're changing all of that.
So the city names are specifically not going to be referred to and it's just going to be the regions. You may notice some uh amazing artwork in the top right. That would be me with a Sharpie earlier on today. So yeah, it is a prototype from a physical components point of view, but also from a rules point of view.
The rules for this game, whilst the overall rules are not going to change, small details are going to change. And in fact, we've recently just had a rules update, changing some of the rules that we played uh from this afternoon. So, we are going to be playing the game with the rules as we understand them right now, but these might not be the final rules of the game.
So, what are we doing in this game? Well, we are trying to score victory points. I'll call it victory points. It's actually called Doxer, which is glory. I believe there's a lot of terminology in this game. They've done a a good effort at trying to use thematic names for everything, but we're just stupid English people and we always get things like that wrong.
So, we might just call things like victory points uh and money instead of namisma, I think it's called. Uh we're trying to get as many of those as we can. We're going to be playing the game tonight over six rounds. You normally play over nine. Nine is the full game, but you can play over six. You can see here we have six event cards.
We have one for mage one, two for mage two, and then three for mage three. Normally in the full game, you would have three for mage one, three for mage 2, three for mage three. And the events are all historical things that happened during the game. And those events are what's going to influence the placement of the units, which is all of the miniatures onto the board, which is going to be important for our end of game scoring because each of us has a series of quest cards that we were dealt at the start of the game.
And the rules that we're using right now are that we've got four of these quest cards. And when we get to the end of age two, which is here, we're going to have to throw one of them away. So, at some point, we need to decide which one of these we're not going to bother with, and we'll throw it away here.
And then at the end of the game, we're going to score three of these quest cards. Now, these quest cards will give you points for a variety of different things. And some of them will give you points based on what units are on the board. That means if you have a scoring card that's going to give you points for the merchants, for example, the yellow pieces, then you're going to be wanting to influence the emperor to try and get him to deploy merchants and trading ships and things like that on the board.
That's a very high level overview of how that works. Each of the rounds is divided into three phases. The first phase, we're going to be using this area here to determine our initiative for the round. That determines the order in which we play the rest of that round. that's going to get us a little bonus.
Then we look at the event and we decide in initiative order which of the emperor uh which way we're going to try and influence the emperor. But importantly, even though you decide at that point which way the emperor is going to go, it isn't resolved until the end of the round. Phase two is the action phase.
In the action phase, we are going to be taking it in turns in initiative order to do various actions which can include playing cards from our hand. We have empire cards that we've got in our hand. What you didn't see is we drafted these cards. So, there is a draft at the start of the game. We're going to be playing these cards into our tableau.
We are going to be buying and selling resources from the market. We are going to [clears throat] be activating our cards in order to generate resources. >> What else are we doing? There is a reference card with all of the actions on. Yep. >> Selling resources. Yeah, I think that's it. >> That's that's pretty much it.
And then at the end of each round, we then resolve the event. And the event will have certain requirements and we all secretly bid. And as long as we together as a group have met all of the requirements of the event, then the event is fulfilled. And whoever bid the most is going to get an extra bonus.
But if it isn't fulfilled, then whoever bid the least is going to get some kind of penalty. Uh and then we move on to the next round. That's a a very high level overview of how it works. We'll explain most of the detailed rules as we play. You will probably need to see a couple of rounds of this to get a good idea of how the game plays.
If you only wanted to watch uh a short part of this video because I'll be honest with you, we're probably going to be here for two and a half hours. I would have thought at least maybe three. So, if you don't have time for that and you're watching this back afterwards, I think once you've watched a couple of rounds, you'll get an idea.
And if you're watching back afterwards, you might want to then skip ahead to the end just to see how the end of game scoring works. Right. What have I missed as a as an overview goes? >> That's about it. >> Yep. >> There's resources for taking which um >> yes orders, >> but we'll cover that now. Right.
So, um we've each got a player color and the first thing we need to do is decide who's got the imperial ring. Now, there are various tiebreers in the rule book, like the first player who went to the last player to have been to museum um and then the last player to have watched a historical documentary or something like that.
[laughter] >> Right, Chris? One, two, three, or four? >> Four. >> From the top? >> Four. >> Yeah. >> You sure? >> Yeah. >> Don't want to change your mind? >> No. >> White. >> Ah. >> So, Rob is Rob has the imperial ring. Now, this is going to pass clockwise at the end of each round. And the first thing that happens in round one is we are going to choose up here.
So, I'm going to press a little button and hope I get the right button. Yes, I've got the right button. Let me just get my pointy stick, which is over here. So, this is the initiative drive. We have four of these tokens. These were placed out at random. And essentially, whichever one of these you choose, you're going to gain the resources printed below it.
And this is going to determine the order of initiative for the round. So, whoever goes here is going to be first for the rest of the round. And whoever goes here is going to be last. But also, as I say, amazing artwork that I did earlier on. There is a chameleon tile which are these things here and these are going to be given out.
So whoever goes here is going to get the big flag. Whoever goes here is going to get the goblet. Here is the scepter and here is the robes. Each of these has a special ability as well which I will tell you about as we are doing them. So Rob, you are first. Which which one of those do you want? I >> just see the resources underneath them as well.
>> Yeah. So the first one is this is a scroll. We're not calling it as well because I can't remember what it's actually called. And three money. >> Mhm. >> This is a feed. >> Speeday and three money. This is the food with two money. And this is linenum which is wood and one money. >> Cool. >> And there are certain times in the game where you want to be first.
And there are other times in the game where you want to be last. >> I'll take the first slot, please. >> Okay. So, you immediately gain one of these scroll mark scroll tokens. >> Three cash. >> Yeah. Each player already has two of these at the start of the game, but Rob's now got a third one. Uh, and three cash.
Now, you also gain this marker here. Now, what this does is it gives you one extra action. So, when we start playing in the action phase in a four-player game, everybody has four actions which they will perform. Whoever takes this gets an extra one. >> But there you go. You have five actions for for this round.
>> Yeah, this one's nicer. here. >> Uh Chris, >> um can I go in the second spot, please? >> So, you get the goblet. The goblet is going to help with the events. You'll see that happening in a minute. So, Chris gets that. You also get one of these. >> Yep. >> And three money. >> I We don't have any bronze ones over here now.
>> Coppers. >> Thank you. >> And that comes with two additional. Is that what they two additional? >> It It kind of comes with two of these, but we'll come on to that later. Um, Cath, which you're going to go for the scepter. So, the scepter is really powerful. This breaks ties, >> all ties for the whole of this round.
Anytime there is a tie, Cath is going to decide. Uh, well, I I'm I'm going to choose to take this then. So, we're actually going to be going clockwise for this round. So, I've got some of my resources and I got some of that. And uh yeah, I've got some robes. The robes will also help me during the event.
Right. So, the next thing that happens, we're still in phase one, is we're going to be influencing the emperor. So, I'm just going to take this card. I'm just going to show you this on my big screen. So, this is the event card. So, there are two types of event cards in the game. There are ones like this where something just happens and you can't influence the emperor one way or the other.
Or there are cards like this where you can influence the emperor. So in turn order, which just happens to be clockwise from Rob, we are going to place any number of these scroll tokens. You don't have to place any if you don't want to, but you place them either here or here. And each one effectively counts as, you know, one influence against the emperor.
So let's say Rob, for example, decides to put one here. Then it would go to Chris. If Chris then puts two of them here, for example, then what happens is it goes to CF. Cath might say, "I'm not getting involved in this. I don't want anything to do with it." So, I come along and I say, "Well, I'll tell you what.
I'll put one here." At that point, it's even, which means the player with the sector would make the decision. So, actually, what would probably happen is depending on which one of these I really wanted, because I'm going last, I would have final say, I could potentially put two on there instead of one.
And that means that this is the event which is which is actually going to happen. Now, there is a rules change that we've had through about 10 minutes ago which says that the person who placed the most of these actually gains two points. So, the player when influencing the emperor, the player who placed the most of these tokens will get two points.
If more than one player is tied, then each one receives one point. So, that that's a rules change that came in earlier on. And these events, these are where the history in the game actually comes through. So I'm going to read this. This is the battle of Darra 530 AD. Baantine forces under Bellarius decisively repelled Persian army near Darra securing frontier stability.
So what does this do? Well, you can see here this is the territory on the board that's going to be affected. And if it passes, which means we need one of these markers, one of these markers, and one of these, then we're going to place one fortification and one legion in that region. If however we voted for this side instead, then it would need three sword tokens and if it's successful, if we get three swords, we place a catifact and a legion.
Either way, these are all red markers. So in in in the in terms of the actual impact of this event, whichever side gets resolved, it's going to be placing two red units into this area. The difference is what resources are needed. And again, we've got to as a group collectively put in those resources in order for it to pass.
And sometimes you want it to pass and sometimes you don't want it to pass. So that is the event. Rob, do you have any preference of which one of those goes through based on the events that you have or we'll go for the one on the left? >> This one. >> And you're putting one in. >> One in. >> Okay. So we have one in on the left hand side.
It's a >> nice mixed selection of resource. Yeah. So, I've already got some some wood. >> So, I'm going to put two on the same one, which the two that I get from my >> Yeah. So, the person who's got the the chalice or the grail or the goblet or whatever essentially gets two free scroll markers to place on that card.
And if they don't place them, they lose them. So, they can't just get two and keep them. It's two to place on there. So, we currently have three on the left, none on the right. I'm not going to place anything. >> Well, so this is interesting. Normally in the previous version of the game, I'd just say not to bother.
>> But if I put two in, then me and Chris will get one point. If I don't put two in, Chris gets two points. Oh, yeah. Turn order. >> Yeah, we need you first. So, white, it should be white on five. >> And then it's one extra point for each position you are clockwise. I'll go there. You >> then red then blue.
>> So, I'm going to keep these. So, that's it. I'm not I'm not not going to bother voting either. So, Chris, you put the most in. You get two points. You've got to make the noise of um There you go. [laughter] Coconuts. Uh so, >> African or European coconut? >> Yes. [laughter] So, the emperor has been influenced.
What is it? the trenches of Bellisarius. >> Yes. >> Okay. So, that's what's going to happen at the end of this round collectively if we want it to pass. We need to put in one of these sword markers, some food, and some wood. So, we're now going to play the round potentially trying to get these resources.
Um, and yeah, and if we don't, we don't. But then the person who put in the least is going to get penalized. And if we do, then the person who put in the most is going to get a reward. Right, that's phase one done. Now we go into the action phase. So in the action phase, we're going in this turn order, which just happens to be rob and clockwise.
And you get to do one action. Now there are six different actions that you can do in the game. You can draw cards, you can play cards, you can activate uh either one card or what's called abandon, which is like a set of cards. You can sell resources, you can buy resources, or you can reset the market.
So, if you were thinking, "Oh my god, there's six different actions in this game. Three of them are related to the market. There is also a free action that you can do anytime on your turn, which is any card that you decide you don't want, you can throw it away, put it on the discard pile, and you gain one of these scroll tokens, and you get two money.
And generally from our experience in the game, you will end up drawing a lot of cards that you potentially don't need. You have to discard down to six at the end of each round. So that is a way of getting rid of your excess cards to get the stuff that you need to to play cards. We'll explain the actions in more detail as people actually do them.
>> Rob, what you going to do first? >> I think to start with, I will spend one of my actions to buy from the market. >> Okay. >> Those first two, two and three. >> Yeah. So, let's have a let's have a look at the market. So, the market contains the seven resources and these were randomly placed at the start of the game.
And if you notice again, I've written the numbers on there because the the iconography was a bit small. They have already fixed it. This is one's two, this one's three, this one's four, five, six, seven, eight. And when you're buying resources, you can buy any number of these for the price that's indicated and then everything slides down.
Cool. >> So, did you say you wanted these two? >> Two and I'll spend five. So, you spend five money, there's Rob's resources, and then everything slides down. They're also potentially looking at making this a circular so that it's easier to adjust them uh afterwards. And that's it. That's your first action done.
Action done, Chris. >> I am going to do the draw cards action. So, I spend that. >> So, the draw cards action, you have three options. The first option is to spend one of these scrolls to draw two cards from the top of the deck. Or you can spend two scrolls to take one of the cards in the offer and one from the top of the deck.
And then you replenish the offer after you've done it. Or if you had three scroll tokens, you can spend three scrolls to take the top card from the discard pile and one from the deck. So those are your three options. Which one would you like? So, I'm going to spend two to take one from the offer. Can I have that hero card, please?
Yeah. Thank you. And from the top. >> Thank you. >> Okay. >> Cuz the hand limits at the end of your turn. >> The round. Yeah, that's what I meant. Sorry. >> Yeah. >> F. >> I was going to draw cards, too. >> Rack them up. >> I was only going to draw. >> Okay. Two from the top. >> Two from the top. See, I'm tempted to play cards because nobody else has played cards.
But because when you play cards, you can play any number of cards, it makes sense to save up your money so that you can actually do lots of them. Um, now I can't sell this wood to the market because there is already wood in the market. So, I can't sell that. That's not an option. So, what do we do? What do we do?
I've got some money. could do that. How much money? Oh, right. Is there any of these that I want to throw away? I kind of want that. That's really good. Okay. H. Okay. I am also going to draw cards. So, I'm going to spend an action. Now, are there any here [laughter] that I want? Oh, stealing scrolls.
We have a card called Martin. Good old Martin. Um, no. I'm just going to use one of those to draw two from top of the deck. Right. There you go. Done. >> Okay, Rob, >> I'm going to go back to the market and sell. >> Okay, so Rob's selling, which means you can sell anything or as many things that are not there currently.
So, what you going to sell? playing this in the first position or yes you can actually sell. So this is one option is that for example Rob could if he wanted to sell his food for seven he would be allowed to do that or there is an option where you can sell the resource which is there in the first position if you do you get this amount of money and then that will disappear and everything will slide down and that's what you're going to do.
>> All these two this is any number. >> Yeah. So I believe that if you want to sell that one that's all you can do >> right >> well the designer will confirm that if that is correct if you're selling you either sell the resources that are missing or you sell the the one resource which is in the first position I think it's either or >> that's what the action the >> is that what it say yeah it says sell any number of resources not in the market or the first okay we don't need clarification we're apologies I'll Sell the food.
>> Yeah, sell the food. You get seven money. >> Seven money. >> And again, if you had What's the resource that's missing? >> Uh the lapis. >> Yes. >> Yeah. If you had that, you could sell that for eight at the same time. >> And in fact, you have that. But you're working out. >> You're keeping it. >> I think I want No one else has got lapis, have they?
>> I have, but I've painted it to look like wood. >> I think he's not. >> It's not. It's not in the It's not in the joking move. [laughter] >> Well, that's a joke. >> Oh, Paul, you're rapier like wid. Uh, that will >> I think I will just sell one. >> Yep. >> And that was an action. >> Yep. >> Yeah. Sometimes your actions can actually be really really quick.
>> Okay. So, I'm going to play cards. Aha. >> So, the playing cards action is where it's this is where the action actually happens. What I'm going to do is I'm going to get you to play the cards over here so that we can show people on big screen. So, when you play cards, you can actually play any number of cards.
>> And in fact, I've got a better one here. Here we go. And Chris is going to play these two cards. So, there are three types of cards in the deck. That's an intrigue card. >> It is. >> Ah, right. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. >> So, you're doing that now? Cuz that doesn't count, >> does it? Not. >> No, you can play that now.
>> But then I don't get to do the thing. >> What does it do? But but playing an entry card is outside of the playing cards action. >> Right. Okay. >> I I'll show you the cards. I'll show you the cards while we're here. We have three types of cards in the game. I'll put mine there. So, this is a hero, and you can tell it's a hero card because it's got laurels here, and these icons represent the type of card.
So this is kind of a farming card. This is a palatine card I believe. And this is a level two leader for this particular uh faction. And this is a level one leader for this. These are the resources that that card produces. You also have non-hero cards which again they produce resources. Now what's in the top left is the cost to play the card, but you get a discount based on the level of the leader.
So for example, this is a military card. It's got a helmet on it. If this was a farming card, then because this is a level two leader, it would actually give a discount of two money on this card. So, you get discounts on cards for one of your leaders. If you had multiple leaders with that, you would only get one of them to to get the discount.
Now, these cards, these type of cards, these are going to go in play and they're going to go in your player area and you can activate them in order to generate the resources that's printed on them. There is a third type of card called an intrigue card. Now, the intrigue cards might look similar to the other cards, but you can tell that they're intrigue cards because they don't have a resource here.
Intrigue cards are special because the way that intrigue cards work is you can play them at the time which is going to be indicated on the card. It's not an action to play them. You can play them on other people's turns. A lot of them have a take that element to them to mess up other people or to help protect you.
>> So yes, that that card is technically not played at the same time as you're playing. >> Okay. Right. I'll play that card first to do the >> Chris is going to play this card and he's just playing the one card. So this is a this is a hero. It's going to cost seven money to play and then it comes into play and it sits there.
Now heroes have abilities which are permanent abilities. So, as soon as they are played to the table, Chris now has this ability for the rest of the game that when an event when fulfilling an event, he can use a lapis as if it was any other resource. And he can only do that once for each event. If you look at where was that card that I had?
This, which is a non-hero card. These are all instant abilities. So these cards, they have an instant ability, one off at the point you play the card, whereas the heroes are a continuous passive ability for the rest of the game. >> Assuming they're on, >> assuming that they are visible, because you can took cards under each other.
We'll explain that later. >> Right. So that's my play card action. >> That is your play card action. >> I'm also going to play an entry card. >> Okay. So again, intry cards. Yes. Intry card. So what does the entry card do? Cost you two money. >> It It doesn't >> Oh, cuz you get a discount. Yes. >> Right.
So, the intrigue card is free. It normally costs two, >> but because Chris has a level two leader with that icon, it's discounted by two down to zero. >> Now, intrigue cards do exactly what they say on them, >> but they don't then go to the discard pile. They stay in your player area. And the reason for that is there's end of game scoring that might matter.
So, you don't took them under the cards or anything like that. They just stay there, but they they're going to be counted at the end of the game. So, what does it do? That one. So it's I need can have two of the sword ones as well. So select a player. Essentially it's um spoils of war. So this is the loot of the spoils of war.
The player that I choose decides how to split that up into two bits. Then I pick one part and they get the other part. >> So you've gone off and had a fight somewhere. >> Yeah. >> And this is uh this is the rewards. >> Yeah. I'm going to pick Rob cuz Rob's last. So even though >> but he's shooting at us with his bazillion sad hard gone by rock.
>> Yeah. [laughter] >> Right. So um they divide the loot into two parts. So you have two swords, two scrolls, and three money. >> Yeah. >> Okay. How you going to split it? >> Bearing in mind that I get to pick first. So >> Okay, there you go. You get that. You get that. And then that entry card stays increases area, but it it kind of doesn't do anything until the end of the game.
>> Yeah. And again, just as a reminder, Chris, with the play cards action, you can play multiple cards. Chris just played the one, but you can play more. >> See the tableau there, not you? >> Yes. >> Are you finished? >> Yeah, I'm done. >> Right. I am going to discard as a free action. >> I just seen that one.
>> This one? >> Yeah, >> Martin. >> Yep. That's it. >> Good old Martin. >> I'm discarding two cards as a free action. >> Yeah. So, you get four money. >> Four money. >> And you get uh two scrolls. Interesting. So, he's not a hero. He is not a hero, but it's a that looks to be a remain in play rather than a that's not an immediate trigger.
Uh, yep. So, again, this is a prototype. I think that should be if you have the chalice rather than when gaming. I'll just show this on the big screen and ask uh ask the designer. We have a a card text query with regards to Martin because it is not a hero as Rob's pointed out, but this ability here looks like it's a passive ability.
So, if you can let us know either this is wrong or it [clears throat] should be a hero and he's missing his laurels. I >> mean, he looks like a hero. He looks >> He does look like a name. I think so. I think it's missing the laurels. >> But yeah, if you can let me know. Uh, he is a hero. Great. So, he is a hero.
What level should he be? >> What level should he be? That's that's the question. >> Then there's another indicator, is there? So, he's six cash. I'm assuming level two. >> We're We're going to guess level two. Going to guess level two, but we'll see. So, he is a he is he is a a hero. >> First level.
>> Okay. First level. Okay. He's missing his uh missing his wings. >> That's fine. >> Oh, and now you don't want him. >> No, no, just I want to see what he was before the next action. >> Speak of that. You've got you've gone to the shop. It's my turn. >> You've had a look. >> Oh, yeah. It's >> I was I was going to look at that during your turn.
Then an ongoing question to ask. Apologies. >> Um so I'm playing cards and I've already paid my nine. >> You're playing two cards. >> I'm playing two cards. >> Okay. And none of them are heroes. >> None of them are heroes. >> So none of them are going to give any kind of discount. So I'll show you the two cards that Cat's playing.
So these are the two cards that Cat's playing. And because none of them are heroes, they just cost their face value. So she spent nine. Now, whenever you play cards, this ability is resolved instantly, but only after you've played all of the cards. So, these are the two cards that Kath's chosen to play.
And now, in any order, you can actually So, >> I'm going to activate that one. >> You activate that one, which gives you a a wood. And then you can use this one to pay one wood instead of the cost of the card, >> which I'm going to do. And this is the time where you play a really expensive card, which is >> a hero.
>> Uh, Anthemius of Thrralles. Let's Let's show him. There you go. So, this is a This is a hero. >> He's level two in farming and level one in this. And he produces this. And now when Oh, it's very similar to the one that Chris's got. Yeah. >> When fulfilling an event, you can use wood as if it was any other resource.
>> Excellent. >> Now, I'm going to create a bandon. >> Yes. So, we do need to go back to that because this is a big part of the game about creating bandons. Bandons is basically a group of cards. And heroes can have a number of cards tucked underneath them based on the level. So, this is level two with this icon, which means it can have these two cards tucked underneath it.
It can also have one of those as well. Now, these cards collectively are called abandon. And what that means is when you activate them to generate resources, which we've not seen yet, but it means you activate the group and you get all of the resources for the set rather than having to activate each individual card.
So having bandons is a great thing because it allows you a lot more efficiency with generating resources. And you can rearrange your cards anytime you play a card. You can rearrange your bandens however you want to, but I believe only at that time. So there we go. Right. What am I going to do? Don't know.
Lost strike. What's happening in the market? What am I doing here? Well, I I kind of want to play cards, but I want to play more than one. So, if I played that and that, it would cost me 10. I don't have 10. I've got six. So, I'd have to throw away two other cards to do that. Um, so I'm going to do that.
I'm going to throw that away to get one of those and two money. And then really want that. I'm going to throw that away as well for another one of them and two money. Right. So there's the 10. Do I want to be greedy and play or what you do? Oh, but that's pretty good. Yeah, because that actually is.
[laughter] Oh, but I don't want to lose that. No, I'm sorry, Traonian. You might have a very nice hat, but you're gone, mate. Right. Okay. So now I'm playing cards and I'm going to play Narsis first which is going to cost me eight. Um so his ability immediately comes into play. So whenever I play a stratico strat stratia card which is the military ones uh choose a player to lose one point.
>> Oh >> yeah that's that's quite nasty. Um and that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to play this one because he's a level two hero. I get a discount on this. That cost me two. And then I'm also going to play this one. I get a discount on this. Oh, this is an entry card. Come back to that in a minute.
Uh so that's it. So those are the two cards that I'm going to play. And this one when it comes into play says if you are holding the robes, which I am, I gain its ivory casket one more time. So, whatever my casket bonus was, which is a wood and a coin, I get it one more time. Right. And then when you play a strate card, choose a play to lose a point.
It's got to be green, hasn't it? Get back there. Right. And then I'm going to create >> remember this. >> I'm going to create abandon with those. >> Green Empire. Remember this. Uh, >> that's mine. That's mine. Right. And then I'm going to play this now. Yeah, I'm I'm going to play this now. It's another military card.
So, I get a discount of two because of my hero. So, it only cost me one. I gain a Vertus, which is some swords, and I also get three money. And because it's another one of those cards, somebody's going to lose a point. Let's make it red. I'm going to upset everybody rather than just Chris. >> Everybody even.

So, I could not put in two wood, for example, because only one is needed. Then once we all reveal, everybody gets one point for every resource they put in. And then collectively, if we have put in what was needed or more, then the event is fulfilled.
And whoever put in the most is going to get the victory bonus, which is printed in the top left, which in this case is >> if collectively we don't put all of the resources in, then it fails. We don't put the units on the board, which means we don't get to see the nice miniatures. And then the player who put in the least loses what's in the top right, which is >> free coins.

[laughter] That's the >> So, as I mentioned at the start, our job here is not to try and convince you to back this game when it goes on to game found next week. Is to show you how the game plays or give you a rough idea of how it how the game plays because the designers are very open to suggestions as we found out today and they will be improving this game, making some more tweaks and things like that.
But hopefully this has given you an idea of how the short game works. We were almost three hours as predicted, but because we're explaining the rules to you as we go along, it would probably be two and a half normally, but if you want the three and a half hour game, you're looking at probably nine rounds if you if you want to play that.
It would get quicker, I think, the more you played because once you get used to some of the ideas, some of the turns can be relatively quick. Certainly, when you're buying or selling resources, activating a card, where it takes time is when you start playing cards and you start the effects. Um, the rule book, as we've mentioned, is still being worked on.
It is not the final rule book, and they are going to be adding some clarifications in there. Uh, hopefully the the playthroughs that we've done today have helped with that to come across some situations which weren't in the report before, but they're going to be. And yeah, it goes live on Game Found next Tuesday.
