Heroes & Gods : The Master of Dreams Board Game - Playthrough
hi it's tarrant and stella from ipple university today we'll be playing through a full game of heroes and gods the master of dreams describing what we're doing coming up [Music] let's play heroes and gods the master of dreams game by eonat logan and published by fanatic game labs we are using the solo demo version of the game on tabletopia let's get to the table topia welcome to the world of heroes and gods where your goal is to prepare your hero to battle the ancient guardian darpa or akal thi zarit a terrifying monster apparently which is actually symbolize this so the defeat will grant you an immortality and failure pretty much means oblivion along the way you must learn skills and uncover ancient weapons and armours so this is pretty close to my heart because i read a lot of fantasy sci-fi book like terry brooks david eddings really loved those so these games similar were you adventuring meeting you know sorcery meeting new people um spells um and also i play a lot of diablo video games so this is also like diablo adventuring so hence um this feels like that we are basically fighting monsters on these four decks and you'll see soon that we are going to eventually will try to defeat the bosses indeed yes it's very much a fantasy adventuring style of game and for you today we are going to be playing the solo demo mode for the game so the game does play up to four players and it comes with a lot of cars it comes with over 900 cards but we're playing a specific demo version here to give you a flavor for how the basic mechanics of the game work so to start we'll show you the setup of our character we have chosen archazul the mage and you can see arkansas statistics here on the side so we'll set that up on the tracks we've got two health not very much at the moment to start the battles and to speed although you will see that the speed mechanic doesn't really come into play all that much in the solo mode axle also has an affinity to staff weapons so we want to try to get a staff and robe armor but is particularly susceptible to hammer damage so those are some statistics that we need to keep in mind as we go through the game which is also a thematic because it's a match i do love to play mage or wizard in the video game or any fantasy style okay the other thing we need to understand on setup is the masters of dreams board and so on here we've got a relic which is a one-time extremely powerful effect in this case it's a weapon that will kill any creature or hero but in order to get that i have to complete three quests from my master of dreams deck so to start the game i take the top one of these and we put that down below our board and flip it up so this is the first quest we have to complete good deeds shall elevate your soul give three gold soul coins as a gift to any other hero or in the solo mode we have to discard them and i shall tell you the names of dava's abominations so this is our first quest simply to spend three gold um and we'll just point out that so we're both here playing the solo mode together with a single character it's like cooperative then cooperative solomon so with that we've got everything we need to start adventuring so we'll go into the first day of play so the progression of the game is that we are essentially going to be drawing cards one at a time from first the green deck which is the easiest of the decks and then through to the orange deck and then the blue deck and then the red deck encountering whatever we find and so we're going to come across some monsters that we'll have to beat in combat and we'll come across some locations and treasures maybe or even some people that will aid us along our journey yes so we'll simply go into that process we'll start we're on the first day we advance this each round but this is round one so we're in the correct place and we'll flip our first card and see what we come across so right away we've come across a monster and we're going to have to battle so this is glen parra the swindler so there's always some text down here that we have to read because there'll be different effects so on your first hit your equipped potion is destroyed if you have no potion then glen para receives one damage so that is that's fortunate for us because if we look at our board we don't have any potions at the moment we don't really have anything we've just started our adventure so we know that's going to backfire on glen para we use these tracks up here to set the monster statistics and so you can see on the card three health to speed and one damage and over here on the side as well is the rewards that we will gain should we win this battle so we are encountering this monster on our first journey glen para show up and we're ready for the battle so the order of combat in a multiplayer game is usually determined by the speed of the players and the monster but in a solo mode the order of combat is always hero first monster second so let's go to our board to resolve the first part of combat and this is very simple ideal one damage so we head back up to the enemy and we deal one damage now it's the enemy's turn so the enemy also deals one damage so we'll come back down to our board before we lose damage we check to see whether we have endurance which is these shields here we have one shield and so the first belt of damage that we get whether it's one five or ten only costs us one endurance so we have to lose this one endurance that is that is how the endurance mechanic works but now that i'm out of endurance any subsequent hits are going to come from the health now that was the monster's first hit and because we didn't have a potion to destroy as we saw in the text before glen parra receives one damage so we'll deal that damage like so now it's our turn in the battle again and once again we deal a single damage to glen parra and that is enough to finish glen parra off we've we've won the battle yay and here our mage wizard unleash the power of lightning bolt or something and knocked over glen parra go empire say help but then poof disappear into the clouds and dropped one coin and one item yes so we'll gain the coin that's one of these that comes into our supply like so and then we also get one card from this randomly shuffled reward deck so let's bring that down and then see what we've got it is a sharp axe that's good it's a one-handed weapon as we can see here so we can equip that into our weapon slot and it will give us plus two damage so that's very cool pop this here it's not a staff so we're not going to get the extra bonus that the mage gets with the staff but that's okay this will still give us some more damage so we'll increase our damage gauge to three so we know that we're dealing three damage in each hit of battle so ours are all the wizards now grab that axe and then swing it in the backpack and ready to be used yes and then we remove this cart bye-bye that was our first battle it was a it was a weak enemy we were able to get through it pretty well which is which is good for us now we move to our second move so we advance this token and we draw the next card from the green deck and we have found a quest ooh the trapper judging by your looks you've battled monsters before how about some finesse this time prove to me that you can capture any monster alive and you shall be rewarded the quest is to capture any monster alive so this is prototype by the way so prototype copy and then prototype table top here as well yes so we'll pop our quest down here we'll gain one gold when we complete this quest okay and that's the end of our second move all right so on to the third day draw the next card and we have found the chest of roxier oh the grinch has popped up from the ground we stumble upon it and it's a jedomius chant custom reward deck and just the coin yep so solo mode we get a coin which i'll take here down to the supply and then the other one is yada mia's chant so this is it's a custom reward so we would hunt through this custom reward deck to find that card i happen to know it's on top and this is a spell so it goes into our spell slot here and if we zoom in on this this is a once off so all spells are once off this allows us to damage five hit points to an enemy and heal ourselves for three so that's a big attack that we can do in the middle of a battle so that will be that will be good once we come up against some stronger enemies because we can't really re we only reset in between monsters not in the middle of battle yes okay and we'll move this off and that is the end of day three okay day four let's see what unfolds today we have come across lord yonya this is the noble heart brave hero my sword will stand by yours in the next battle so lord jonya will join us and then help us once off in the next battle so it says he diplomatic encounter lord zhonya we walk walk across the hill and a wise man in the gold and the gold club golden alma thank you show up and say he'll help us in our next battle yes so we can also see from this card that lord jeoniah he doesn't have any health but he does have two endurance so we will grab two of those endurance shields as well and bring them down because he will use those in the next battle okay so that is good after that first monster we've come across a couple of uh we've found only nice things here in e dollars so fat yes i have a feeling the next one is probably like bad monsters no things can only be looking up don't be sad next day next day see what else what did i say about monsters well you may have been onto something there so we walk across the hill uh when it gets to dawn we are we were getting ready to have our rest all sudden zanur the dragon arrive the frozen beast the frozen breath renders you unable to use your weapon for the first turn and it's also immune to water-based magic now we don't have water-based magic we have a blood spell so that's okay our magic is still valid but our weapon is not so let's set up this battle zanua has four health still does only one damage so we leave that at one and speed is two and then we come down to our board we can't use our weapon and we'll also drop this down to one so this is only for the first turn of the battle and once again we get to go first and now we have three options we can attack with our fists without our weapon we could cast this spell and simply wipe the frozen beast out in one go because again this is a blood spell not a water spell but what's probably going to be best for us here is to send lord lord yonah into battle so we can get a companion to fight on our behalf and we know that he's only going to fight with us during this battle so use him or lose him so we'll send him into battle lord yonya does three damage so we'll head back to the board here three damage is done and now it's lord yonya who's engaged with zanuar so zanuar's one damage will not be dealt to us it will be dealt to our companion so lord yonya as we said before he has no health but he has two endurance so the hits again any amount of incoming damage is solved by one endurance so we remove that endurance and then we get our weapon back because the first turn of battle is complete we go back up to three but we can't now attack with our axe the battle between our companion and the monster must reach its conclusion before we can jump back in so three damage from lord yonya is enough to finish off sanur so there we go we've won another battle as lord jonah attacked this zanuar beast with his stairy icy glazed eyes the beast surrendered and defeated by lord junior okay so we get the reward for zenua is a card from the reward deck so we'll do that as we did before take the top card of the reward deck and add it to our collection and yeah this time we get steel curious so we've got some arms nice so this is very good we can equip this into our armor slot like so that gives us plus four health so one thing that we haven't one thing we haven't really had to see before because we haven't lost health is that you regain your health between every battle and so now we'll go into every battle with six health and you can see down here as well we also gain a an endurance and we'll have that endurance at the start of each battle so we just became much more resilient to attacks so i'll grab that endurance and pop that oops pop that there all right then we also get this reward so if we won the next battle we would get one gold coin so we take one gold coin and then we uh lord lord jonya was only with us for one battle so lord yonia leaves us and we discard him from the game the coins looks fun it looks a bit like a cone head it does a little oh no it's not it's a skull it did from a distance it got a bit nastier closer okay now we actually have the goal we need to complete this which could get us closer to our um to our relic but i don't there's no urgency here i'm going to hang on to this for a little bit i think because we can buy equipment with this as well which we'll see shortly okay zanura is defeated and that is the end of day five all right day six our next encounter and we have another enemy here so shadira the whisper of the forest all right so we're coming across someone who's a lot nastier this time so as we rest overnight after our big battle with the dragon which our companion did mostly and we awake in the forest where we rest and we encounter shidira use your speed has been reduced by three points moving vines immobilize you you lose your turn okay so that means shadira is going to hit us first so we need to drop our speed and we need to reset the monster stats as well yep so our stats are correct at the moment we reset the monster stats so two speed two damage a little bit stronger eight health so that's a lot stronger and you'll also see up here at the top we've got retaliation so every time we hit shadira we're going to suffer one damage in reverse but we've got this icon up here and this allows us to capture shadeera if we win the battle and we know we had that quest before so we're trying to capture her and then we'll be able to use her as a companion as well so good good value here but it's going to be a tougher battle than the ones we've faced so far good thing we have six health now yes so shadira is going to attack first because we lost our turn does two damage to us and we have a endurance so we lose that one endurance for the incoming two hits now it's our turn we can do three damage back and we still have this spell that we can choose to use at some point but the spell heals us and we're already at our maximum health so i think it makes sense to take some damage first before we use that spell so we'll just attack with the axe do three damage like so and we suffer retaliation so one hit of retaliation costs us one health for making that attack now it's shadira's turn and once again we suffer two hits so we'll lose these two hits and now i think it's time to use the spell let's do that yep let's do it so we have to spend the spell we damage five hits for the enemy and heal ourselves by three so spend that we heal three we damage five and we've won the battle is over now we do also suffer one as a retaliation still and now we capture shadira so we take shadira and she can come into our display for the moment we can choose when to put her into battle and when she does she will have three endurance you can see here when captured three endurance the last thing we can do on this turn is we complete our trapper quest we have captured a monster alive so we gain one gold coin so that is good we discard this and gain a gold coin and there we have it that is the end of day six okay now we move on to the seventh day and the seventh day is special because we can go to the ignacia board and purchase new equipment so sunday is the market day where we get new shiny stuff for our adventure so we stumble across a market in the little town and they have the merchant selling these for weapons yes so let's see we've got a short axe which is very much like the ax we already have a little more stylish but that's okay um then here we have a staff so this one this one's really good for our character as we saw before we get a plus two damage with a staff so that's plus four so it's plus four overall and you can cast a healing spell one time per battle nice so i mean there's a hammer and a dagger here but honestly i want that stuff yeah it's two-handed it's two-handed but that's okay we can still have this one two-handed yes so we'll just drop our axe so we'll purchase that and bring it down here we spend three gold and conehead coins and immediately i think we will take the axe out of our hand and feel like a comfortable mage with this staff now we don't have enough coins to complete our master of dreams quest anymore but i'm sure more coins will come particularly now that we have this lovely strong stuff yes that's nice and shiny not just nice and shiny it's very useful sorry i spend your money that's okay i'm i'm happy with the staff as well thank you and so that will take us back to so we just keep cycling through weeks in that way and at the end of the week anything that's not purchased is swept away and then we bring new equipment out to be purchased in the following week look at that oh it's nice this nice potion health potion all right so now we go into our second week of play so we're in day one of the second week we flip our next adventure so as we look in here so we've got a new adventure here we've also got now visible is oz and this is one of the manifestations of death or the manifestations of data in the game we don't have to encounter this enemy right now this will be part of the final battle at the end of the game but we can see what's coming so this card sits here visible this is the card we're looking at at the moment so we've got an event there's a hidden shop auction so we can purchase the um damn potentia for three gold coins but we don't have any we just spent some on our on our stuff so that's not really going to to come into play so we'll simply pass this event over there's nothing we can do here that's okay now it does say it is a hidden shop option and the auction we haven't really shown this as part of the single-player game but when we when we're purchasing things up here in ergosia or when we find hidden shop auctions during the game if we're playing multiplayer rather than simply buying at cost price we could be bidding on these things against each other if we really wanted them over an opponent very interesting yes so we'll go on to day two and again we don't encounter this card which means we move on to the next deck let's see what's under deck the first one on the yellow deck tarant okay and we have another quest oh valiant a warrior such as yourself should relish at the sight of fearsome creatures explore any location that you encounter and come back to me for a reward so that's the quest of exploring any location and what is been the next mod card well this is good this is you know rather than paying three coins then we can just get rid of it for free i guess yes so we haven't uh we haven't come across exploring locations yet that's not a mechanic that we've seen but i'm sure a location will come up at some point soon and yes that will allow us to burn the next one of these which will get us closer to our relic which is certainly something that we want right on to day three of the second week and we have bagna the no master rallies want random monsters throw one cut from the monster's deck and add it to the fight in a secondary slot as our party goes through the jungle onto the plane we encounter buckner trying to ambush us and we are preparing for battle okay so how this happens this is our primary monster bagner is the primary monster that we've met he rallies one monster from the monster deck which you can see over here who goes into a secondary slot we'll have a look we've got zavanu the lord of nightmares nightmares images flow through your mind your damage is half for the reminder of the battle oh no it's going to make it tougher for us so our he and our opponents just summoned another monster and now it's one versus two at the moment so the way it works when we're playing against multiple enemies is that we only fight the primary enemy unless one of the secondary enemies has endurance and this enemy doesn't have endurance so we're going to fight these two in sequence starting with wagner and then zavanol so we will set up the monster dials to match in wagner so that's five health three damage so we're starting to get stronger enemies here and three speed and the effect was to get the rallied monster so that's sitting there and then on our side we'll also reset our stats because we didn't do that when we got in your equipment so we go back up to six our damage is now five because it is our starting one plus two plus two because we're good with the stuff our speed which we lost in the last battle is back up to two and we also have shadira that we can use as a companion if we want with three endurance so let's let's pop shadeera up there like so we'll grab those three endurance in case we need them and now once again we get to attack first so what shall we do we can do five damage all at once and that should be enough to finish this enemy off so that feels like the thing to do we'll just go straight in and defeat bagner i think sure all right so five damage onto wagner defeated great so we gain a coin as reward so back not as scary as they look like we charge a hat and we beat we swing so we use utilize our brand new shiny stuff and we you know defeat the monster straight away in one hit yes for now we good for now okay and now zava null enters the battle so this is going to be a little bit more difficult uh zavanol has seven only does one damage so we're not in too much peril three speed and then one coin is a reward but our damage is halves for the remainder of the battle so now this is in effect so halved rounded down so we're only doing two damage despite our amazing stuff but that's okay we've got our companion as well that helps buff up the damages from the monster yep so we could go with the with the companion or we could i think we've got the numerical edge here to attack ourselves because you see this enemy is only doing one damage to us so i think we can weather the storm and and win the battle so we can always if we miscalculated we can always throw the companion in sure okay so zavanol does one damage like so we do two damage we suffer one we deal two we suffer one that's right numerical advantage there too almost there but then we win he did he did get one coin all right we get a coin as a reward zavanol is vanquished and even though we suffered quite a lot of hits in that we reset now that the battle is over we get our full attack value back and we heal back up to six and we also i think we forgot to do this last time actually our armor also gives us one endurance at the start of each battle so we actually we're a little bit uh safer again because we were meant to start that with an endurance you're just calculating the math there and it's like yeah charge your head we're not going to die anyway and we can also heal as well if we want to with our staff yes on time per battle like so so before we go on to the next day we now have three coins so we could complete the righteous path if we want to spend those coins and then whatever our next quest is because again we have this quest here to burn the next master of dreams card we've got the three coins and i'm pretty happy with our staff and our armor we've got a pretty good setup going here yeah until we encounter very difficult monsters and you're like aha i regretted that so what do you think shall we complete the the righteous path or shall we wait until we can yeah we can we can complete it that's okay we want to see what's happened and then we can start going through the next quest i guess okay so we're going to complete that we will spend those three coins and we shall be told the names of darva's abominations now so we've completed this card it's done it's out then we draw the next one so we're down to two cards in this deck we draw the next card from the deck add it to our collection and we'll see what our next quest is give up your loot after defeating any challenge during your adventure send a potion as a gift to any other hero from your party or in the solo mode discard it so in order to complete this we have to not loot on one occasion and give a potion to a hero so i don't even know if we're going to find a potion so this might be a good one to burn that's right um so as we venture on our quest another quest appeal a novel soul secret quest so it tells us all these you know being nice and giving it up our portion so we'll see i'm gonna try to do it or maybe we just bribe it week two day four next card and what we have here is a location the temple of blood oh this is for the quest for the explorer location yes so we wanted to explore locations and you can see here there's some multiplayer components on here that are greyed out what's important here for the solo is that we will be facing bloodlord yadir guardian of this temple with a reward of two gold coins should we choose to explore we should we should so we know we want to explore a location as our next quest so continues our journey we go through the plains and the hill another parish and we reach upon the temple of thank you blood so we decide to enter and see what awaits us inside it okay so we go to the guardians deck and guardians this is the only guardian we have here but there will be of course a deck in the final game and the guardian is fundamentally no different to the monsters we've been facing but stronger and no loot so it's solely the reason there's no loot here is the loot is inside the location correct as we enter the castle of blood blood lord yadir appears the cursed general casts butlers on each hit duration is otp if solo and eob if two players plus which is one time per battle or end of battle righty so we'll set up 12 health tough five damage and six speed six speed and we need to get so blood thirst is this buff here and so when we get hit we're going to get this effect where we become more bloodthirsty in the battle and when we attack one time per battle we heal for the amount that we inflict so that can be helpful to us but this is a very strong enemy so we get to go first as usual and we could either send shadira into the battle or we could go in ourselves we've got a bit of healing capability uh we're going to become bloodthirsty you reckon we just do it go for it if you want let's give it a try worst thing that happens is we lose that's true okay we will attack first so five damage suffered like so then we will suffer five damage back with a hit so that gives us blood thirst and because we have endurance we lose the endurance i'm just going to put it up here to remind ourselves to get that back all right so now we are bloodthirsty we deal five damage back now we've got the bloodthirst effect here only one time we get to heal that so we lose the heal effect for this effectively but we do another five damage that is awesome reduce them to two then blood lord will do five damage back to us so we dropped to one we do have this capability on our staff to heal ourselves as well but this five damage is enough to finish them off let's just hit it yes brutal again we use our new stuff to play against bloodlut yeah dear and it defeat it got defeated by our shiny new staff and our obviously our capable self yes so that is done so there was no reward on the guardian but it means we get to gain the temple guardian sorry the temple reward which is two gold coins so we'll take our two gold coins and discard that just grab one two we'll add that to our collection and we have two coins now we have two coins and we have explored a location so this one is complete as well off it goes and the benefit is we can burn this card so a noble soul we don't have to give up a potion we can use all our potions for ourselves and we draw our last master of dreams card so when we complete this card which is secret quest i've lost a dear old boot in a magical bottle where i put my storm can you help me find my boot and the bottle so another genie type appear and wants us to find output item and find storm in a bottle item okay so hopefully we can find those as we continue exploring and that is that's the last one so once we complete that we'll get our relic oh i can't wait we are not bloodthirsty any longer the battle is done and we move on to the next day oh i know we've got ambush as our party ghost continues leaving the temple of blood and the entrance of it we got ambush draw one card from the monster deck the ambush card goes up here we draw the next monster card and would that be nice elren the peacemaker knight of ellen ambushed us at the entrance of that castle well that's kind of like you know suitable informatic the peacemaker immune to fire and water spells damage each hit does two extra damage to bashari and italian heroes so part of the theme of the game is that each of the heroes that plays belongs to one of these four factions effectively we are what are we we are green so we are not one of those factions we're not going to suffer extra damage we are down here so let's set up we've got 11 health 2 damage two speed and two endurance so i think this is the first time we've faced a monster sorry can't grab that there we go first time we face the monster with endurance so now we're going to have to fight through the monster's endurance the same way that a monster has to fight through ours we don't have any spells at the moment so that last effect doesn't apply then we'll come down to our board we reset ourselves to six we still do five damage to health we gain our endurance back and we've got shadiera as well so what do you think we've got a a high we've got a lot of endurance and uh health on this enemy we should employ adira to help us in our battle what do you think or is it too early because we've got the gods but we might find another companions as well so i think we'll launch into this battle without the companion again that's right you do the math talent yeah so our first hit takes away an endurance the enemy's first hit takes away our endurance our second hit takes away endurance the enemy's second hit does 2 damage our next hit does 5 damage the enemies next hit does 2 damage now our next hit we do five damage but if we suffer one more hit we're going to be out so i think we need to heal now use this heel effect so one time per battle yes so we will heal three and deal five damage then we suffer two damage and then we finish him off so that's it it's done we get a reward of one gold from the card we also get a reward of one gold from the ambush so that's two gold one two that's good we've got um how many goals now we can probably go short oh we can probably buy something interesting yes on to day six of the week and we draw what is the last card of the tarkan deck so we've got the next minion of darvel here whom we'll have to fight at the end a little bit stronger than the first one but what we've got right now is a portal to ergnessia so our party after defeating the ambush we continue our journey and we found a portal of ignacia actions step through the portal and go to a nursery market ahead of everyone so well it's almost the end of the market where we go to economy anyway yes so what this means we take this decision card we add that to our collection here and if we ever want to go shopping later on ahead of day seven we can do that very good but it comes with a penalty we get disoriented by the uh by going through the portal and we will be a long way down on health in our next battle so we need to we need to think on that carefully that's true actually okay and then we move on to the next day and it is day seven and we are going shopping i like the look of som in a bottle because i think that's part of our quest to have one of those that was what we needed yes we need the storm in a bottle and if we can get that and an old boot then uh we will be able to get our relics so i think there's there's no real question here we've got to buy this yeah and we have exactly four so just enough four gold is the price four little cone heads there we'll be gone and we shall buy the storm in a bottle oh sure thing go shopping gosh here we go we just bought a lovely storm in a bottle okay so we need the old boot to finish that off uh and that's the end of our trip to ernestia because we are skint so we get rid of all of these we draw another four cards oh let's see what's going on so that's not a boot quilted tunic that's a bit better than a boot more portion these portions uh would be handy all boots oh boot and it's cheap hurray only gonna cost us one okay so all we need is one and then we can use that to purchase that threadway and just go to the market not at the end of day seven with the quest cut we just got recently yep and of course the relic that we're trying to get here will instantly kill any creature or hero except dava so i mean if we take if we lose that five health to go and get this um we may just be using the relic for that okay for that so maybe none the better but if we can send our companion off yeah but we don't know what we're going to say which is like just trial companion nobel here you go you fight them once you fight the monster i'm going to go and buy a boot so the next week and we are onto the lsr deck it's getting stuff for now yes so what have we here i like the look of her silk heel so as we go through again continuing our journey we are going to the coastal area i don't know she like looks a little bit um like you know sea creature-ish we are greeted by silkier defeat a monster during the following three days receive your hero skill is the reward yes so this is not something we've seen yet we've we've grayed out a multiplayer thing here so what we do with this she goes up here to watch over us so we have three days i'm actually going to take one of these things just to remind me where the third day is so one two three by the end of this point we must defeat defeat a monster and if we can do that we get a hero skill and this is our hero skills each of the 18 heroes in the game has a unique skill that makes them stronger and for us it is fire based magic attack the flame of yeah your next attack ignores end one time per battle and is endurance well see what i say about i like the look of her i knew i've got a good vibe about her and you know she's a helper throughout the journey that would possibly grant us our skill hopefully so we need to make sure we've got a companion still so we should be in a good position to win a battle inside the next three days let's do that taran let's do it next day oh no it's not a monster it's not a monster but it's still a handy thing it's chess finding chests is always good as we try to now we're actually looking for monster to battle in order to get our skill so this is a test we stumble upon the chest of sula with the reward of alexa day in the custom reward deck and one reward card okay so we've got the elixir day which is not this one i believe it's that is not it that's the one that we couldn't find earlier here we go elixir day grants maximum hp and heals all the damage that is good excellent so i'll pop that one back in the deck saw it there there it is let's take that here's our patience portion slot and then we get a reward as well what do we get that oh it's broken blade reduced damage of an enemy to one end of battle okay so i believe is this a spell yes it's got the spell icon here let's just take our endurance back for the next battle so we can severely weaken an enemy with this spell this is good so we equip ourselves with portions weapon spells so that we are ready for the last battle excellent but not a monster so bye bye chess we move on to day three two more days to win a battle come on please here we go this is the first time i'm happy to see a monster and finally when we enter the jungle as soon as we enter the jungle we are greeted by murasha the spider's custadium doubles the damage on her second strike and triples the damage on her third strike oh no rattles two guardian sorry rallies two guardians spiderlings but not enough not insulted phew i was like i was happy but hang on it looks so scary so we got um two coins and one rewards just good yes okay so nine health and two damage and five speed so after her first hit damage is going to become four and after the next one damage is going to become six can we defeat it as soon as possible we should be able to five is our first one so we've got five so it's only going to take us two strikes so that's okay so we should be fine because we have one endurance as well oh that's right so we can weather the first hits that's all right we can win this so we go to our board yes let's reset ourselves as well so we've got six and an endurance and still five five hits yep so we do the first attack which is five five damage so down to down to four then we suffer two damage on her second strike yes so we suffer two damage and then this goes up to four so two damage down and then we deal five damage back and dead she dead vanquished yay two coins so we can afford our boot yeah and one reward so one two coins into our collection and then we've got the reward as well reward card and one reward card flip that over oh if i got the legacy this looks awesome it got seven plus seven plus seven definitely this is a very strong piece of armor and then one speed two endurances but i believe that's one's off uh no these are permanent endurances as well we'll get them at the start of every battle we're going to equip this which i think we should yeah let's do that strong so we'll we'll drop this one off we'll grab this so now our now our health is nine it's our base health of two plus seven we get a second endurance second endurance which we add here and so we're pretty buff majors now major league now tara and an extra speed as well not that the speed mechanic is again it's there's a few things here that we're not seeing in the battle mechanics so you've seen us go in and defeat various enemies in kind of a solo mathematical way when you come in and it's probably a good point here to talk about the multiplayer attack mode the monsters will be stronger in multiplayer and players will take turns in speed order at trying to attack and where where it comes into play is that because they're so much stronger some heroes will be defeated during the battle and some will not and the ones who aren't get to share in the rewards and whoever lands the fight if it's an enemy that you can capture like like our companion down here whoever lands the final blow is the one who gets to do the capturing and so it's not simply a mathematical matter absolutely of working out whether you can defeat it in what certain ways but it's you know there's more i don't know more uncertainty like in a good way because it's other players that we have to play against yeah it's like if i wanted to play the uh the broken blade as my attack for a round um i know that i would be heavily almost defeating the enemy but giving the player to who is next in speed order would have the chance to land that final blow that's why it becomes really useful now as you say earlier this is a demo fashion so um they are actually more i say total of 900 or not if not more than 900 different cards in the game so the different gameplay that you can encounter is you know quite quite a lot okay so we've defeated this enemy we've taken our rewards and we have now defeated a monster during the following three days so thanks to silkyor we receive our hero skill yay and so let's equip that here and remind ourselves again firebase magic attack your next attack ignores endurance one time per battle so that will allow us to essentially ignore one of the enemy's endurances so fireball will come out from our nice shiny stuff it's not new anymore it's been used for a few times yep and it's turned from this um deep cooling blue to a fire blast vicious firing red yeah excellent let's remove this uh temporary counter and we'll move on to day four of the week what do we have what do we have so as we gain our new skill as we continue our journey uh we move along and we found the opolis of victory which bonus is plus defensor plus what is that plus space speed thank you and oh it's an endurance sorry gain and endurance or gain five speed or three health to all heroes if you pay three coins right we don't have three coins no so and speed is not as i said before speed is not a mechanic that is helpful in the solo demo mode so i guess we're gaining an endurance now this is a next battle buff only that's what the nb means so what we will do is place the uh place the obelisk up here until the end of the next battle where we gain one endurance and we'll simply gain a once-off endurance so we're pretty buffed for our next attack so it's better to be a good monster now we uh we fish for battle now we're ready for the next one or we can just throw shira our companion here we go that is true all right three more on this deck that looks toothy no that's got a hand on it oh resurrection bearathon has brought you back to life so this is when we die we can use it yes so this will come down into our collection so we haven't spoken about death we haven't really even lost a battle yet well come but when we you can lose a battle and the penalty for losing a battle normally is that one of dava's minions will get an extra endurance and that's going to make your life harder in the final battle whose choice is that uh it's the player's choice yes so on to day six and we draw the last card from the lsr deck so as we see up here we've got now t the plague minion of dava so another one of the enemies we're going to have to face i'll flip this over so this is the shadow of t it's t's curse and so the curse here it's it's set up like an enemy but how this works is it doesn't come into play until we face our next enemy so we pop this up here in the temporary slot alongside the obelisk that we found earlier and next time we face an enemy this is going to come into play as a secondary enemy so it's got strong endurance it's got an effect where we lose our weapons so it's problematic as usual but it brings us to the end of day six and so we go straight on to day seven which takes us back to the market sunday market is a fun day so we are going to i assume get the old booth so if we look at our money we have two money we need one to buy the boot so we will spend that one coin head back to the market by the boot that comes into our collection and now we've got the two items we need for the scavenger yay so we've uh reunited the scavenger with the precious storm in a bottle and all boot items boot which i'm sure has some sentimental value i'm sure or it might be a magical boots that only um they can have the they know how to use it properly so we discard those two items and the scavenger and that grants us this relic so we now have the relic that we've been seeking all along the morad destroyer will instantly kill any creature or hero except java and ignores endurance one time use so i think that's going to be pretty handy in our it looks so magical yeah it really does and part of the part of the mechanic of this game so you can see if you're playing with multiple players each player will have four of these master of dream quests and there are two relics and the players are racing the first two players who complete their four uh will get the relics and the others will miss out right so it becomes quite important there so that's good we've got our relic we don't really have enough money to buy any of these other things so we'll just discard them and set up the new ergncea market for next round like so and we move on to the next week no the strongest staff there so that's okay yep it's okay we've got some pretty good stuff now okay so let's see what we've got here akindu the god of pain that sounds very painful you cannot withdraw for three turns drain life damage dealt is added to hp for the same amounts immune to magic as well oh gosh god damage causes elimination this is i don't think we can bit disk this is pretty brutal so this is uh this is one of the vengeful gods in the game some of the gods are fighting against us and this is one of them and so a few things we need to know when you're defeated by eventual god it eliminates you from the game we spoke about that before when we picked up that resurrection card this one is immune to magic so all of our good magical that spell that breaks the power of the hit points down to one that's not valid here no every time the god of pain attacks us any damage is then added to the already extremely high health so this is going to be very difficult to beat and we haven't spoken a lot about withdrawing because we've been doing quite well in the battles so anytime you're in a battle you can at any point withdraw on your turn uh and in a in a solo game that just means you lose the battle but live to fight another day and you won't get eliminated by this god looks like we just have to survive for three turns because we can't kill akindu can we i mean mathematically it's not possible too i don't think it looks pretty tough we also bring the uh the t curse back in as well so we need three endurance for the t-curse has its own effect but the so t-cursor's effects are active as long as it has endurance so we lose our weapons as well so we come down let's flip our weapons over so we're back down to one attack let's throw our follower to the battle probably i think that might be the way to survive here yeah let's see so 16 16 4 damage two retaliation as well and one for the t kiss oh no um curse has five speed so we will still go and make hindu has seven so we will still go in the order that we have been it will be us first then a kindu and then the the t curse as long as the t curse has endurance basically i don't think we can defeat this combination of monsters i think we have to survive three turns and then escape and i think one of the the best thing that's going to help us here is this skill because if we attack the secondary monster with this um remember that that curse only has one health and three endurance so we can defeat it without you know going past the endurance with the skill yes we just skipped the endurance so i think that's what we do first we do one damage which is enough to finish this off ignoring the endurance it does retaliate by one so we lose one well we actually lose one of our endurances for that which is a little bit of a waste of endurance but that's them's the brakes i guess uh then that finishes off the curse which is good we can take these off the board take these off the board like so and we get our weapons back so that's our turn so a kin dude then does 4 damage to us or at least attempts to do 4 damage to us but we have endurance so we lose an endurance then we go into our second turn we've got our attack back because the curse is gone so we now deal five damage back to the god i have damage but we get a retaliation of two so we lose our last endurance now it is a kindest turn does 4 damage to us and this time so we do lose the 4 damage um and akindu will gain 4 hit points back so bad right now it's our third turn we do five damage again and then get to retaliation again so we'll do that in order we do five damage and suffer two damage and uh things are looking bad for us now that we're out of endurance so i suggest we also heal three damage right now yep just to get through this and then akindu's third turn he'll do four damage to us and heal four so we've only done two hit points worth of damage um but now three turns are done so we can run away yeah let's do that yeah so one more hit and we would have been eliminated we do have this card to bring ourselves back but we would have been eliminated we've withdrawn so we've lost the battle so the next that that next battle is over so the buff that we got from this obelisk is gone when we lose a battle one of these four well one of the three that we can see and the one we can't see will gain an extra endurance so probably put it there or unless if we want to use our relic and put it the strongest one and we kill it instantly that is probably a good idea this one heals uh whoever kills it so that's good we want to suffer some damage and then and then heal that so we don't want that immune to blind petrified regenerates one endurance point each turn that's that's tough i don't like that and heals dava upon death so the sooner we can finish that one off the better the plague upon death all companions take two endurance point damages uh so that's that's not the that's not the worst this regenerates three hit points each turn that's pretty bad yeah maybe let's load up on this one yeah and then we'll give this one an endurance and then it's not dava so we can kill it with our magic really yep all right and then this one is done we have escaped escaped and uh clung onto our lives so finally we go on to day two hopefully uh hopefully a nicer day ahead it looks much friendlier than the god of pain that we just defeated we now stumble upon the chest of tetras which gives us a ballad of light in the custom report thing and one reward card that's helpful all right so we've got we need to search through here uh there we have it the ballad of light so this is a spell that comes into our collection restore full hit points that's good that is good and we also get uh one of the remaining rewards all right taran what is it this is uh the silver scroll oh explore find all the missing scrolls the map maker in wake things it leads to an ancient exploration site so this is uh number one of three i think this is more this is more of a quest style of thing as you get into the uh the deeper the deeper game you'll get these sorts of fantasy games so which of these spells do we prefer we've got uh restore full health we've got reduce the damage of an enemy to one so i think reduce the damage of enemy to one is powerful against the powerful gods i don't know what do you think yeah i think so we can handle we can endure more turns if they can only hit us once okay so that's the end of that day much nicer day we'll discard the chest and go to day three not that's the reward deck oops my apologies we'll go to day three uh-oh we have a name what is that oh no so this is an ambush of two cards from the monster deck so once again we'll pop our ambush on everyone there's two coins i believe yes so we've got our monsters oh no so what do we have here vladimir first vladimir steals two hit points from each hero before the battle commences and is immune to magic right and then jenna steals your weapon and adds its damage to its total damage each hit does three extra damage to elisa's so the lsrs is the blue the blue monster the blue player which we are not wear green so do we get our weapon back uh we will afterwards we will afterwards all right so we start with vladimir does three damage has nine health but then steals two hit points from us and even to magic it goes up to eleven and then we're down we are down to seven we still have five he's immune to magic and this is magical so it makes sense to swap this into an axe um how do you know it is magical it says magical down the bottom right of course we still have our companion shadyra we do i wonder if we should withdraw again maybe we should is that enough good enough rewards the rewards there's one card from the reward deck there's a bit of gold but if we look up this deck there's only two cards left darva is coming yeah um and yeah these are these are quite strong enemies and i think they're going i think we should try to enter the final battle with as much and we don't want to expend our companion here if we don't have to right rather than trying to see what we'll get next if we win this battle and i mean we can use our original plan to just uh stack endurance up on the one that we're going to going to kill here so i think that's what we'll do okay all right so we withdraw so we're going to add another endurance to this minion here these two cards are gone and we we thought better of the fight sometimes when you're adventuring yeah discretion is the better part of valor in this case that is what we're employing okay so goodbye amber oh sorry goodbye ambush card as well and now we move on to oh what's this well we've got one more here so we have it is a blizzard two days debuff oh so for the next two days we're going to get less three speed five hit points and their armor oh no well that's a problem that is a problem what are we going to do taran i don't know that's a lot of days so let's just put another reminder here for when that ends so for the blizzard we lose three speed which takes us down to a minimum of one because we can't debuff below one we lose our armor so we'll flip this over so that was going to be that's going to be a big loss we're going to essentially go back down to our basic health of two and the endurance buff that we were getting off this armor doesn't help us either and then we lose even more health but that's only going to take us down to our minimum of one once again so we can only get debuffed down to there so that is very much a problem very problematic so that brings us on to day five and we flip this card here and it's darva [Music] so we have reached we have reached the end we're going into this final battle with uh a pretty significant debuff erin look at her dava the almost final battle or pretty much the final battle death itself immune to fear and paralyze revives arkell and zarat upon death to full health um deals two damage upon death to all heroes and appears out of nowhere upon our party okay and then on top of that we've got zarat up here who has massacre effect first hit inflicts dire wounds you cannot heal your hit points this turn all right so we have to we have to come up with a game plan for defeating all five of these monsters yeah so we'll start by setting up darva stats so dava has 20 does 7 damage has 7 speed um the speed here will be important so i'll it'll be us first then dava then all four of these have uh have endurance so they're all going to take a shot at us before that's a real problem us is going to go next as the next fastest so remember immune to all debuffs casts fear on every attacker so this is the fear debuff fear has taken over your mind for the next two turns you cannot cast spells or use normal attacks so that's a debuff that we're going to begin this battle with so i'll just pop that here as our personal debuff so that's a problem alkyl if we remember immune to blind and petrify we don't have that regenerates one endurance point each turn that's going to make him difficult might have to face him early but then we know he'll come back when darva's killed as well so i think we're gonna at least he doesn't do that much damage yeah and he does two damage and then heals dava5 upon death okay okay uh and then we've got t and we buffed up i think i think our strategy still will be good here if we can just kill t right away um as long as it's not a magical item we should be okay because there's a lot of regeneration and a lot of strength here yeah and a lot of damage and then zarat oh gosh nine does nine damage so that's the sort of one where we want to play that that one that reduces damage to one yep um but then dava also does seven so let's plan our attack so we've only got one health we've got there's no reason we can't use our preferred stuff right nothing's immune to magic outright so we can put that there so we're back up to five damage which is good for sure um unfortunately it'll be good if our star for a one-handed weapon because then we'd be able to put in this axe and go in blazing with with both things but that's right wasn't to be so we're just left with an empty slot unfortunately we do let's see firebase magic is it where to go to the shop to buy something well that's uh that's an interesting point because the next battle is minus five that's right we only have one coin yeah that's not a lot isn't it yeah heavy claymore yeah unfortunately no but if we have more than one coins then we can't remove ourselves less than one for because of debuff so you know a potential option um so we've got our our destroyer that we can still use the only other decision that we have to make is which spell we can only go in with one spell we've got reduce the damage of an enemy to one until the end of the battle or we've got restore full hit points um which takes us up to 15.
i think this one's going to be better for us and then another one the grants maximum hp yes then we've got this potion that we can take in as well grants max hp and heals all the damage so we're going to have to use that basically before we get hit for the first time sure otherwise we're uh we're going to the look of it the artwork looks really beautiful yes yes that is quite nice legendary yeah but we cannot cast spells or use normal attacks for the first two turns so the spell can't be used normal attacks can't be used this is not a normal attack so we could use this straight up but then we're going to be hit three times with no endurance or we could throw shadeera in almost forgot about shadira we could throw shadira in to take the first three hits yep throw her in so and that might be worthwhile so maybe that's that's how we start all right so final battle let's see how we go first things first we've got almost no health here we need to drink this potion we can do that as a free action so grants maximum hit points heals all damage we're up to 15 we've got our best possible start so we um taken a bottle a legendary portion we cut it down it doesn't taste that good but somehow we our health is maxed out it looked raspberry flavored but i know i know luke can be deceiving yes while we're drinking it down we are going to push shadira into the battle really heroic not shadira is helping us in this battle so we will because zarat does so much damage we're going to start by taking zaret out of the battle at least initially so as long as these have endurance they're going to hit us back so shadira is going to attack zarrat and remove this endurance so now zara is not going to attack us back so that's good that is good okay next dava is the fastest enemy and will deal seven damage back at shadera so shudira has three endurance one of those goes away okay the next fastest is oz doesn't do very much damage but is very quick so that one incoming damage will once again be taken up in shadira's endurance right and then the next fastest is t with three uh four incoming damage is once again taken up by shadiro's endurance so shadira has fought valiantly but he is done and just to to clarify there while a companion uh shadira only has the endurance to rely on not this eight health that i um attacked earlier on in the game as companion that is yes yes okay next on the order is arcal so alcohol does two damage looks so scary yeah and i've got no one to shield me any longer so that is two damage for us yeah that's okay let's still have plenty for now yes and because of arcola's ability regenerates one endurance point each turn so arcol gains another endurance that's going to make it very difficult to get arcola out of this battle okay and then the slowest is uh zarat but zarat has no endurance left so is not not in the battle actively right now we still have to come back and fight him but we his at least not going to be hitting us right now okay that takes us to our second turn and as we had planned this is the time to use the relic so this really beautiful shiny sword and also functional yes we are going to go straight in and use it one's off only once off to finish off t borrowing all the endurance all 18 of these um upon death all companions take two endurance points where we don't have any companions anymore and it was legendary not magical so tea is out bye bye bye so that's good we've got uh we've got fewer of them attacking us now oops let's remove these endurance also but now it's the enemy's turn to attack us again so darva's next in the queue and this is going to hurt uh seven damage we don't really have any other way around that we don't have no we don't have enough magic so we're going to suffer seven damage here drops us down to six so things are tough right now okay next up is oz next fastest does one damage to us so we'll just wear that damage like so and after that comes alcohol so arcol once again does two damage to us and heals an endurance so fully endured that is that's a real problem because ultimately when you're taking this sort of battle you want to knock out all of the secondaries endurance first then focus on data right all right so we all suffer two hits there but that is the end of their wave of attacks and it's also the end of the fear debuff so this only lasted for two turns so now we can use normal attacks and spells again that's good although i'm not too sure about this still well it can i it can only help help all right so now it's time to cast the broken blade on dava so if we come up here to dava not immune to broken blades which is what we'd be most fearful of so this is gone and we can now drop darva's attack strength to one so we're going to be able to weather the storm a little bit more here yes now i think what we want to do next is attack oz uh get rid of this endurance we just want to isolate dava from all the other enemies good idea so we have got an attack of five let's use this heal this one time for battle heal right away there's no reason to hang on to that absolutely so we heal three steps uh we can do five damage to oz but that volume of damage doesn't matter because it will be taken up in this endurance however unfortunately oz has a retaliation so we're going to have to take one additional damage and we're down to five so now it's dava's turn again dava only does one damage to us which is very helpful very helpful at this point because a full blow would have wiped us out and then it's followed by arcol who does two damage so we suffer another two and we're down to only two hit points so now it's our turn again so we've got a couple of options we could either i mean ultimately we would want to try to get rid of alcohol's endurance but because archives healing one endurance every turn that's not going to be helpful no um the other way we could try to get around it would be to use our flame of yaya and ignore endurance but that's really only going to work if we can wipe arcol out in a single turn and with 11 health that's just not going to happen so i think i think it's coming to an end unfortunately yeah um i suggest we just get a good hit on dava that's just she's the primary enemy we want to at least strike a blow so here we are oh normal companion here where arkansas with his stuff and the fire blasting from the staff and his eyes charging through java unfortunately death is not something that any mortal being can afford so hence trying our best we defeat some monsters and we go down java attack dava and town go ahead so we we launch in we suffer one retaliation which drops us down to one health and then dava's little broken blade with that one damage that it does is enough to end it and that's it and hence you know we are passing this world and then dava is ready to fight for another battle with another brave warriors or wizards or whatever you are indeed so we couldn't use this second spell because you can only use one spell per battle well we could resurrect ourselves i suppose but when we do resurrect ourselves it'll be with all of our starting statistics which means only two health points it's not going to prolong the battle very much so i think we'll just end it there you know i believe some of them are being stacked just to show you how things works how the mechanics work yeah so i mean particularly in this demo mode it's set up to be not impossible to defeat this final battle but extremely difficult so yeah i think we did a reasonably good job he's not too bad i think we did some good tactics but yeah there it is that's the solo demo we'll just quickly talk about how the the full game works because the game is you know what we've shown you here is kind of an adventuring almost mathematical approach to the game but when you're playing with multiple players it's meant to be a semi-co-operative game you're you're all from these four different factions or these four different houses and you want to you need to face the threat of dava but you need to survive and bring that glory back to your house and ultimately what's going to happen in the in the game is everyone will come into this final battle and as long as you win whoever survives wins or jointly wins the game so yeah you will you want to be strong enough when you get into this final battle that your team is collectively good enough to defeat the dava and all the minions but you also need to stay alive you can't you don't want to position yourself in a situation where you die heroically because that doesn't win you the game no you don't you have to be strategic about things and that's where some of the mechanics that we've mentioned as we went through like bidding on equipment if you want it over an opponent and racing to complete the relics because the relics help to keep you going in that final battle and then even in the battles with the lesser monsters everyone is in there fighting but only those who survive the battle will claim any part of the rewards and so you're trying to position yourself in the critical battles where there's good uh good rewards to be won and for the most part the rewards and the strengths of the monsters are higher than we've shown you in this solo demo because this has been modified to allow a single player to go through and manage it so there you have it that is heroes and gods the master of dreams and that's our playthrough of heroes and gods the master of dreams we hope you enjoyed this video if you enjoyed
