[Music] [Music] strategically place your troops to simulate the struggle between north and south lien and more from salmon 1973 to spring in 1975 this is saigon 75 what is it about in this video we'll give you a preview for this game and if you stay tuned till the end you should be able to get a pretty good feel of how it plays coming up hi it's Tareq and Stella from eople University we'll bring you a variety of quality about your videos in this video we're going to show you a Kickstarter preview for Saigon 75 again from jean-denis Park you and Pascal 2p and published by nuts publishing let's get to the table to be released in 2019 via Kickstarter Saigon 75 is a historical war game set over the final two years of the Vietnam War the game was designed by Jean Philippe Baku and Pascal 2p and published by nuts publishing the game plays two players competitively in 60 minutes and is of light to medium complexity in this video we're showing you a prototype copy of the game so the art rules and components may not be final Saigon 75 is an asymmetrical war game set in South Vietnam during the final two years of the Vietnam War to start the game the Paris Peace Accords are infect and the US has withdrawn troops from the war the South Vietnamese forces are spread throughout South Vietnam and in control of the country and the North Vietnamese forces and Viet Cong are off the main map in Cambodia and Laos ready to invade the North Vietnamese player will attempt to recreate history by invading capturing and holding Saigon and if this can be achieved within eight rounds of play the North Vietnamese player wins the game if not South Vietnam win in the game South Vietnam controls a wide range of different types of Units from the army of the Republic of Vietnam standard infantry mechanized regiments Marines paratroopers Rangers and River patrol all are equally proficient in battle but some are more mobile than others South Vietnam also has an Air Force and air support tokens can be used to add extra dice in battle each time one is used there is a four in six chance that it will be lost North Vietnam controls two different types of military units divisions from the Vietnamese People's Army and Vietcong the more guerrilla style Vietcong have the advantage that only River patrol and Raiders can attack them making an important for South Vietnam to manage these unit types North Vietnamese units can enter South Vietnam from Cambodia or Laos and five times per game can spend an infiltration token to roll an extra die in attack in a border province battles are resolved with a roll of one die per unit by each side up to a maximum of five an ex weakens an opponent's unit turning a full division into a cube sized one or removing any cube sized unit from the game and the net balance of our results forces the retreat of an opposing unit to a neighboring friendly province control of a province does not change until its new owner has completely emptied it of opposing units when North Vietnam claims a province it adds a yet dang token to the province which signifies its control and provides one extra battle die in defense Saigon 75 is set up asymmetrically with this South Vietnamese player getting weaker by design as the game wears on in particular South Vietnam must roll the die for desertions at the end of each round once North Vietnam holds at least five provinces South Vietnam gets increasingly fewer actions as the game goes on while North Vietnam gets more and the event cards played each round will on the balance of probabilities favor North Vietnam so while North Vietnam will always win the war itself in the game the North Vietnamese player is restricted by the time limit of the game and the South Vietnamese players aim is to hold on for as long as possible regardless of the bleakness of the strategic position North Vietnam's aim is to claim Saigon if it can do that inside eight rounds and hold it until the end of the next South Vietnamese turn then North Vietnam wins if not then South Vietnam wins and that's the overview of Saigon 75 we hope that you enjoy the video and we hope that it helps you at the time of filming Saigon 75 is about to be launched on Kickstarter so we'll put a link in the description below when it's live so you can check it out if you're interested if you enjoy this video please let us know by hitting the like button for ask your questions or feedback in the comment sections below you can also follow us on Instagram for board games photos and review and finally if you'd like to be among the first ones notified of what's new from us please consider subscribing to me ville University you can click on the maple up in the corner to do so and do hit the bell to be notified of our new videos I do next time [Music]
