Ryan & Chris talk about CarmaRace!
Transcript
Hey, how's it going? I'm Ryan. I'm Chris. And we just got done demanding Karma Race here at Gen Con 2013. Um, developed by board a board to death. And I had a blast playing the game. It was a lot of fun. It was. It was super fun. Um, it's a pretty light, casual, kind of a cutthroat game. I would I would throw your neighbor game definitely. Um, it has roads, trains, and planes in it. So, it has all sorts of transportation and the object is to get to a convention center to be the first one there seeing the only item that everybody wants. But it it was really interesting just um how part of the strategies interplay in the game because you get to draw from different decks while you're going through a turn. So, pretty much there's a vehicle deck that you draw cards in. So, you can get vehicles for transportation to go where you want to go. And then there's the karma cards that actually affect what vehicle you got. So the vehicle cards will have different vehicles like oh that's the bike which is hilarious but like a car. So car is good and it can be affected by these cards and so train cars can be affected by these. Plane cards can be affected by these. I thought one of the interesting things was is that you got to draw your cards one at a time. So you can kind of build your strategy as you're drawing your cards which is really intriguing. Not too many games do that at all, which is really cool. And the karma was the cards were positive and negative
and neutral. Neutral, which is either going to be good or bad. And based on that is you can either screw someone or help someone out. And it also helps you out cuz you get to move, which is really sweet. So that is really unique. It's actually how he won, which was if you play a good karma on someone else, they get a benefit. But you immediately get to move your piece two spaces, which got me to the finish line. But um overall had a a lot of really cool neat mechanics, some familiar stuff, and some really fresh things. I think it's really going to do something different. It's good stuff. Check it out. Check it out. It's on Kickstarter right now. Kick it.
