Top 5 Worst Games of 2014

0:08 everyone welcome back tips and today we are doing top five worst games of 2014 which is something new that I've been doing free top ten year list so because it's it's fun to [ __ ] on games that deserve it I wouldn't say all of these deserve it this is personal preference obviously I've made my list on how much I hate the game I think that's pretty much what it was so let's go ahead and get started so my number five is Arcadia quest really yeah it actually did jump on it and I think at the time I made this it was it wasn't it whenever I was bitter about our 80 quest cuz it would have been number one at that time but ultimately I still think it is um there's some flaws within the game it's number five because I can still play it and kind of have fun but like man whenever we were playing maybe because we rushed the campaign and just kept playing like over and over and then it's a very cutthroat game but you know obviously luck with with the dice but I don't know there were there were just times like Katt for example never really got to play cuz she would just run out and just die immediately and just come back and then like I mean I had a fine time because I had Seth who's broken whenever by the end game anyway cuz he all he has are met high-level spell cards it's like what no defense dead never he's never done that for us um of

1:39 course I mean you know my daughter uses them oh yeah no he's so very like he always had a lot of death tokens yeah but like if you just finagle him in such a way that hey I can see you okay I'm gonna hit you ten dice no defense I like it's not just me saying that like no no I just ever but there is just something something about it we felt that like a lot of the like the maps and stuff were also pretty like especially in Inferno we're luck heavy on on who one and like they really tried to emphasize the PvP aspect which if that was the entire game that's fine but it's not you have to do the scenario quest - or yeah the snare a quest and then at least kill someone but there's some where it's like okay I didn't quite kill you and then some of those runs up and his ass somewhere hits them and kills him and it's like okay I got that kill it's like well [ __ ] so I it probably it's it's at five because it's like I do like the game a little bit but like I wouldn't go out of my way to play it in fact I'd probably like play it once and be like ah I'm pretty much done cuz I'm still pretty bitter about just how much luck goes into and you can sometimes get hosed with a crappy guild that you thought was gonna be good but

3:10 they're not which is probably also cats but her only good person was whisk and then diva is like she starts off fine but then no ability sucks yeah and so but sheis officials I'm not really that good and I don't know the campaign was pretty weak cuz yeah I mean you just run through and I want cuz I teleporter then is app Lord Fang 15 damage can't defend it and that's that so that's my number five Arcadia quest my five how many do you think we'll have any crossover my five is Shadowrun crossfire okay I like deck builders you know and stuff like that I saw I was kind of excited for something like this and I never played anything in Shadowrun universe but yeah that's it it's brutal for one thing which this is not the reason I write it's a bad game but it's so finicky and it's so stupid I mean it's it's it's very clunky it's very it's it more than what it needs to be right why don't I stickers down and stuff but you want to know what the worst thing about this devious land not almost say some numbers may not be calculated 50 times to get one experience point to spend I'm stupid sticker bull you're you're you're actually you have to play the entire

4:41 game and win 1520 times before you can level up the first time yeah right no these data's games are hard yeah they are I mean I've played it quite a bit because I was one of my my friends favorite games and we would play with him and we won like me at once yeah and it's just like well no you can get one experience point if you get outta dodge successfully which also has like its own separate weird set of rules like okay I'm down now we need to now we need to leave okay this is weird on how this happened hey we we escaped one experience point how much does this sticker 18 okay yeah and some people just like it will say they start on little - oh okay when they do it sometimes what I heard some people saying bye thank you no I don't understand Raoh loves this game well it's not it's not horrible that's why it's 5 yeah lower my favorite thing going so no no no about you know as you said my favorite thing about the game though is that once whatever you buy goes in your hand yeah and like not enough deck builders do that it's just like why don't you have it just like I bought it why is it not there and so that I did like that words like okay what are we gonna use what would help us kill this guy right now that I'm gonna buy that boom use it just like I what made me know

6:14 that this was not a game for me was whenever I said the game dealt out the monsters and we lost like I just looked at I'm like huh yes we lost and me cat and my friend Luke we were just like huh I'm like I hate this game so yeah that's a good choice alright my number four is evolution actually I have played and I think it's on here because I playtested it that's stupid climate expansion I hate this company too because I play tested your [ __ ] game like 30 times and they still didn't send me a copy like they said the guy actually accused me of lying just for a free copy and I was like are you kidding me like so I hope climate fails I hope that that that game flops forever and he didn't see climate was a standalone it was a standalone but they could be integrated that's why I didn't like could I love evolution and I let you know it was I think you got for us it gets stale really quick because there wasn't enough variety in this you had your fur your intelligence your long neck and your fat tissue and you're like alright these are pretty much it yeah so the fly expansion was was cool you can you know evolved and you know and now I know I have flight so this is this is pretty neat now I can get up to that that reserved but I don't know there was just say it was like until you discard based and I was like that was it and you could have your ecosystem going where it's like I'm gonna have a car born this

7:45 week thing to keep him alive I'll eat my own and get the points for that but a carnivore was never as threatening as they should have been because it whenever it's like because what I didn't like was there was no like I guess there maybe was there a card like pack hunt that your body size was increased higher I think there was yeah but if you didn't have that for whatever reason you could if I was a body size 5 as a carnivore and you were I couldn't kill you so that was just for herbivores like all just be big and you can't your cardboard gonna die off just cuz of that I don't know there wasn't enough variety to get around and be unique enough and then I was like climate ok weather climate sucked it really did and I remember we tried at GenCon I was like they were demoing it there and there was me Robert Randall and and the guy who was boring as hell to play with probably I don't think he worked for the company he was probably like it roped me into playing the shitty King nothing to do this is this weekend so we go and whenever we how do you how you play is you draw you drop these cards you into the food thing and then they have icons and the number of icons it's not how far it they move it's okay if I have five winter and three summer it's not the difference that I moved to winter it's whichever one's higher moves one space so it only almost ever this goes back and forth and I think they tried doing that because if it ever gets you know all the way to the end there's

9:15 never any food left because it's like Armageddon like meteor hits and so it's like everything is dying or if it gets to the very end it's like an ice age everything is dead so it's pretty much everyone's going to keep dying if it gets that far which is why I probably move so slow but what I found was there wasn't it it didn't move enough for it to even be an expansion because the expansion never showed up and it never presented itself you just had okay now I have fur so now I can handle cold weather better oh it's never cold it's always neutral okay so I why am i building this ultimately it's still at number four because I think it's a neat concept especially I think if you're a teacher you can teach evolution you can make it a game well I have my first oh and yeah yeah talk it wondering and or stuff like that that you can you can bring it into a classroom setting and be like okay well here's a fun game that I can also incorporate into teaching science but for me and it was there was

10:15 it was so boring and I hate climate now I played it like 30 times multiple different yeah I like I was trying to do him a favor by getting them or their information quick so I set up times to play with people a that a lot that if they did send me their copy I'd burn it and just pray like you'd here's your [ __ ] game but they never did so that's pretty neat yeah evolution my a number player is I again with an IEP okay animated IP tries new looper no okay although only known ignore the danger zone no way that's so weird have you play yes I have cuz I love Archer Archer is great in this game I mean this game is not a mission it's like if your is this like drinking yeah like if you were drunk and playing this guy alright were you drunk and playing I know well that's what I mean another word sometimes they would be good but it's a game oh okay you know and there's if you watch the show it's even it would be a little another little fellowship because there's a lot of cards have the you know little sayings and stuff yeah yeah kinda like fall over you're like oh yeah I mean gets old one time pretty much you are depending on number of players will depend on how many places in the Isis

11:46 building which still cracks me up that they were named Isis well they were named Isis before I find out okay they think that backs me up yes you know you hear that now it's and you're like oh god anyway so there's like the you know that his mom's office is a top the Mallory Bert rooms right yeah I mean she has her own little deck and then when you had each character they have like five or six different of the characters has their own deck of cards plus they have their own little these little disks that just has their face shot on one side okay but on the other side it has the name of one of the rooms okay and their face of course so you want to figure out where you want to go so you put it face it sorry sounds awful and it's something I'm sober and you go to that place the edge of location has an ability so if you're the only one to go there then you get to do the ability and you're getting victory points there's a victory point track and there's challenges like there's sex challenges hmm something to use sex challenges you move up a little bit and if you have a certain number of seconds they all [ __ ] each other like that go or there's there's drug I was hurt during challenge I it's been probably I played it like well it was when it came out I thought better of these Oh in case he had a demo copy out it was like oh my god yes that sounds doesn't pretty bad yeah sigh yeah I wouldn't never touch it okay so when number 3 is a game I've

13:16 actually mentioned on another top 10 called redacted now unlike evolution in Arcadia quest redacted I liked the first time and actually really don't like it now because more redacted is it has its idea of okay let's say in a four player game you and I are on the team we're American than the other two people are Russian know what you only know what your affection is you don't know even who your teammate is so you're moving around this this spot which is very loosely based you can just kind of just go places which I guess is neat in theory because you couldn't real-life just I'm gonna go down to the basement not all right I'm stuck here for a while but anyway you um so the entire time is you trying to and they have a bunch of different variants which already you bothers me where you don't really have a game you just have a bunch of different ideas so it's like hey how about you figure out how to play our game but the the general one is you're trying to figure out who your ally is get a briefcase which has Intel in it or or get Intel I guess technically the briefcase you don't know what it's in there or not and then some in your helicopter and and leave that's one of the way it wins now where the game is cool as an idea is the fact they you know we're beating each other up we're interrogating each other and if I if I fight you and I win which is basically the rock-paper-scissors thing which is

14:46 also boring because it's a Groot brass knuckles and a knife and one of them beats each other right anyway so I played my brass knuckles and you play your knife okay you win I have to take my Ally card my American card a neutral card and the random card shuffled up and you pick one and you look at it you put it back shuffle them up hand it back so I don't know if you know anything right you don't know like you could have grabbed it was confusing yeah well it's it's super dumb cuz it's like the hope if the game is way longer than it needs to be because the entire time if you don't know who's ooh it's like okay cuz you can't tell me oh by the way American because you may be Russian I don't know that so I'm beating you up like we could be Americans the entire time just fighting each other it's like stabbing you and I'm like who are you and not finding your American on the coast yeah and I really kicked your ass so that is where the idea like flopped immediately and then not only that I if so if you summoned your helicopter if someone had a bomb they can just blow it up and like all that also has to do is sit on the helicopter spot and then just wait for pay and just blow it up and be like okay hey you have no because you only have like I think two helicopters of your side you can summon and it's like okay well it's you're gone now so I guess you lose then add on that half the spaces on the board didn't even do anything they had icons on it and you're looking through the rulebook in your likeness set up for next I think so a bunch of expansions that never came out and so you're like okay well what is this but

16:17 do nothing all right then there's another spot it's like the ballroom where you can go there and then like something everyone to you and like now it's kind of a safe spot but you kind of pull everyone but then it can never be used again and since movements lose all they do is like okay I'm just gonna go back to where it was and do that action it was just there was no execution to all that all the actions and I guess theme-wise it kind of worked like if you went to the basement you can shut the breaker off which means all the lights are empty or off and then you can be in the same spot as people and they can't but they if they have night-vision goggles they can turn them on that now fight you it was just it was just weird they had an x-ray room that you can go and there are certain doorways that if you went through they get to look at your items and that was that like nothing it was just you use did stuff for the sake of doing stuff and then hope that hey I know you're an American okay I'm also American but you don't know that so you're still fighting me and I can't tell you it's just it was just dumb it's so dumb so it's redacted my number three my number three is a game I actually have a play test copy of it because I play tested for it okay and there's an evolution climate no no you have my copy um it is called incredible oh my god alright so what it is is

17:50 everybody is going to get roughly the same deck of cards all right I think they go from play it but anyway um anyway I quit getting emails back from the guy because it was on Kickstarter oh my play tested it I gave him a bad feedback and I was any so release did it anyway um what'd you do on your turn you're gonna have your in dropped five cards okay you are going to play four guys down along with everybody else and then you flip the card over and then there's some every card will have an ability all right some sort so you do the ability first and they're like stupid creatures is like okay there's a stupid alright enough it's like animated cards then they have a symbol on the top and then there is the victory point count on it and then it turns into its paper-rock-scissors its paper-rock-scissors the card game okay pretty much because you play you play when you flip the card over you do your abilities whatever it may be and then you look at the symbols and see who wins paper rock scissors okay and then some cards have a winning ability alright and then that you get the victory points as the first person the ten wins alright that's its

20:56 five armies is basically war the ring but it's it's the Battle of five armies so it's from the Hobbit um completely unbalanced gameplay like that's that's really what kicked it off you know Adam off my shelf for that because as shadow people still same thing as fourth ring where shout out what they have unlimited so like I guess supply of people reinforcements and for people whenever they die they're gone war rings is the same thing except in Bala five armies it's completely its thematic I guess because you know it's it's supposed to be like hey we're outnumbered here but really the at the big top at the top of the map there's a bunch of warps and [ __ ] and they just can sweep around and immediately take over this spot which so are the points that they need and because there's like one person there the fight and you just sweep around immediately kill them and you have it's so dumb it's so that it like I hate how this is that balance because there's so little people in the free end I could get reinforcements it is wickedly hard to actually get and then they can only come in certain spots well what happens is the the shadow player wins if they get enough you know strong rolls because they're worth a certain amount of points and the free peoples win if they actually won they can actually kill bold not bold no I think it was bulk actually

22:30 in the in the game it wasn't the wife or whatever just adds on and I don't think he was in it and they could kill bold well he's he comes in later on right but they could also win if they get like their morale thing which it moves up over time and that's how they can get you know bait woods name Volvo ball the bear the bear the bear guy oh I can't remember his name yell BAE BAE BAE old yeah anyway something like that he comes at he can come in later and the Eagles can come in later and eventually if that racket sign up then they win but I heart that's and then Thorin can come in later he's one of the first ones that that joins but he shows up in you know the mountain and he could hold that spot and it's worth a lot of points if he ever leaves to go help he can't go back and reestablish it it actually like breaks down the door because they have like a like a gate pretty much they've got the chat people have to break before they can hear him jump in if he leaves it's like okay I guess like kick you know the door down so all I did was once he left to go help because he needs to cuz they're good in battle all I did was to swing up there and just take it because I'd say I can just walk right in it was just like I don't understand how people say this is better than the War of the Ring because there's no political track which is like which is thematic and ties into the game and it's not just straight complexes it's the same feeling I would

31:38 separate colors so you have more control but if you're in a three-player game you don't have that option it's like oh we don't really have we don't have any Reds all right guys I need to buy these that I don't want to buy it's which I'll get my emphasis on Mike humored dragon fire I've thought about it because I was likes like the same it does but I've heard it's easier but I think they and they have a caster you could level up faster if you bore XP it's easier but still challenging like it should be and it's dandy and there's a campaign so I was like okay maybe that sounds something that could be but even then like Shadowrun just pissed me off like I said earlier is that when you can set up a game and lose that's not a balanced game that makes no sense at all the theme was cool like sci-fi fantasy that sounds awesome but and then that stupid like mini game of trying to leave it's just like okay we're gonna do this you know Dec really and then it like screeches to a halt and you're like okay so now we're doing this what what okay I yes oh you died all right never mind why do we even bother if you're down just be like don't even bother like I'd started in like I the the first scenario because there's not a campaign use a bunch of different scenarios the first snare is already so hard that it's like okay maybe not do that one maybe maybe there's easier ones I don't know I

33:09 didn't try it because I was like I can't do this the only redeemable thing is the fact that you buy a card goes to your hand that's it right other than that I have fluid despise this game oh I remember because the first time I ever spoke to Bravo I asked him found it I was like really like you'd like this game how this has I don't understand it and he's like well you don't really buy cards to survive like those health cards you you're wasting your time and I'm like huh that's even more stupid not that he said that the fact that that's part of the game right where you don't buy cards didn't look because you're gonna take damage and it's like oh look I have ten oh no I don't you buy cards to kill them because who cares if you survive or not each other on crossfire is is an awful game I absolutely hate it so show me crossfire is is my number one worst game of 2014 okay so my number one is it entrepreneurship no okay that was my only wild guess I don't even know when that game came out no this is it was a Kickstarter and it raised a lot of money in the first couple of days okay and then everybody ditched their money out oh [ __ ] because I still can't put my finger on I think it's joke I relate the game as the gear as a joke if you watch you know the end of a game Lance I know his channel I've never watched it if you type in the name of this game and

36:11 you get one a free extra move it's like what doesn't it wait you don't believe [ __ ] you I mean the boxes even play the others then and a lot of people use I think the ones that backed it are used it as like a pro to you know use it as mmm yeah doing stuff like that I think that's the people that kept it in it made like I don't know I mean I'm just throwing out never I think I mean like forty thousand dollars the first day but then and it was a joke I mean doing everything and then you start going down and just barely find it it they don't know what like by thumb so that's why they made this is the actual finished product that's what they put this video up but or you know a picture yeah this is the eighth this is the eighth player version but I'm telling you that it I was looking at these games and I remembered this last year did this come out and it was this year and I was like oh that's number one oh my hands down because it's not even today I'm game and then what and then I was like well I'm gonna watch a video just to see and I started watching his video and he's sitting there talking like there's stuff there and I'm like I'm this like and and the creator of the game has a video out too and he said they're doing the exact same thing I'm just like oh my god I you know I mean it was and then people if you look at the threads on the game on bgg there's people and I actually are talking like having conversations about what does this card do again oh definitely missed like and but you know
