Description

There's gold in them thar hills!

In Boomtown — a game with auctions, dice, and fun/nasty action cards to play on opponents — you start as a gold digger and try to end as a tycoon. To do this, you must first buy the best mining concessions, hoping to find gold veins. You can also try to become the Mayor of Whiskey River or San Narciso, in order to get a small cut on concessions sales, or build a saloon where lucky prospectors will spend their nuggets in moonshine whiskey. If business is really bad, you can still rely on bank or stagecoach hold-ups to reestablish you. A well placed stick of dynamite can also solve some minor problems.

Piraci features the same gameplay as Boomtown, but with the players now sailing the waters instead of panning them.

Quotes (from this video)
  • it just caught on like crazy and the whole concept of gen Camp was you know for those of us who didn't get to go to that other con uh one to still sharing all the excitement of playing games and hanging out with people and so we said hey whatever you're doing just post a picture to Twitter and with the hash jant 2014 just just have some fun with it
  • it just went insane with the number of prizes that were contributed so we really started pushing the contest and the contest was basically that was where I was talking about submitting a picture and with the uh the picture you would submit it with a hasht jant contest and with the ability to win some of these great prizes and and prize packages but but it's just been amazing how the Gaming Community has embraced this and has really pushed and promoted this little thing that started
  • it wasn't like anything like this was a a competition uh for that that that other convention um what it was was just like you know we kind of wanted to be there too and we couldn't so we kind of wanted to have our own fun with it and I think we did uh it was it was a blast just uh seeing all the pictures and some of them are just hilarious some of the stuff that everybody committed and sent in and it was it was just fantastic just to be just to be a part of it
  • I have never been a part of anything that was got so big uh on the internet I we've had this show now for one and a half years and and uh and again I just never seen anything or I've never been a part of anything on the internet that that just blew up something like that so that was really cool
  • but this was kind of our little thing and it kind of brought us all together

Quotes (from this video)
  • we're logisticating which is a fantastic word you need to use that for phantomax
  • It is an awesome game I know many people have been really looking forward to this it's another game of the Legacy system it's one of those games that you're going to play and get to the stickers on mark up language some people don't like and get over it that's why you buy this game because you're going to play for many hours like you said 12 to 15 campaigns 12 to 15 games in a campaign and the whole idea is you're exploring Islands you're trying to get Goods you may be ready people and as you do you explore islands and see what goods are going to be available over the course of the game you can upgrade your ships and build some advisors and buildings I mean there's a lot going on but the structure I really like now as opposed to making three times per action you just get one one action each turn and it kind of makes the game I wish everyone was at a turn like every minute at least or less you know so it was like it was kind of risk I liked it yep that's great
  • the early version of hostile takeover from countless games labs this is a board game that takes place in the Shadowrun Universe they're also going to do a miniatures game called sprawl gangers but I got to sit down with the some people from countless games and Play Hustle takeover um it's a game that's still in development it's funny when we sat down they said it was 90 95 percent done but by the time we were done myself another gentleman who played never played started giving all these suggestions and gave like 15 to 20 suggestions and they were very receptive to it um I think there's some tweaking that could be done shorten the game a little bit and make the game a little more simple and a little more coherent
  • the diamonds tournament we didn't get any clips of that because we were so into the diamonds game and actually shooting it we um made lots of videos of it and we're going to put it all together into one thing but the reason why we're standing is called our buns are still store from the whooping that they gave us yesterday that was brutal yeah that was uh we were it was not pretty and Suzanne is saying enough about it I mean all night long she just kept oh did you hear we beat them yeah whatever okay thank you that's okay yeah yeah

Quotes (from this video)
  • This is just my opinion, right? Yours may very well differ, so let me know in the comments what you think about the games that I will be talking about today.
  • It's possible that I will rank a game differently next month.
  • So usually my rankings seem to be a little bit more on the more positive side.
  • It's not really a game. It's more like an activity, so I would give it a good C.
  • This is an amazing small box cooperative game where you like play cooperative poker.
  • I urge you if you play this, you should play real time.
  • Um it works turn-based, but it's much better real time and it's even better when you speak with a few people with people somehow.
  • It's like really great in person, right?
  • Wingspan is a number one game.
  • It's a good social deduction game that is a kind of um that is like paired with Who Am I?
  • Similar to a fake artist goes to New York, just with words instead of drawing.
  • It's a very solid game.
