From the introduction:
Sandra Blank is 18 years old. She is close with her family and loves her friends. She graduated from Centerville High School with honors this past June. She was accepted to Mount Briaroke College, a small women’s college nestled in the hills of prestigious, historic Briaroke, with a full scholarship for her first year. Sandra is the first person in her family & the first woman in Centerville to attend college. She’s pursuing a BA in the humanities. All summer she’s been both apprehensive and excited to go. She’s promised to write to you no matter how busy school (and the accompanying social life) keeps her, and begged a similar promise from you.
