Quotes (from this video)
  • and so in today's video we will be discussing the year of 2024 and we will be doing the 10 best games that I played in 2024
  • everything about forgotten uh depths is novel The exploration is novel the combat the story the way the expansions work it's one of the most novel games that I'm aware of and all of that novelty works together to create a super interesting and engaging game
  • this is basically uh The Legend of Zelda the RPG
  • just a wonderful wonderful beautiful production with some really twisted kind of highdea pixel art
  • if you are looking for you know if you've played Ford against Darkness you've played D100 dungeon and you want something that's just a little bit more in depth a little bit more involved in either of those two games you might want to check out Karalis
  • And that leaves us just with number one my favorite game of the year and I'm surprised guys but that is dragons down from Scott Demers and man what a fantastic game.
  • The kinds of games that I appreciate more now are these kind of sandbox games where the story is created through the actions of the players on the table.
  • Everything is kind of disjointed however the theme is so tightly woven into the mechanisms of the game with the art and the flavor text and just how the game is played that it effortlessly creates interesting uh stories and narrative as you are playing the game and it's very memorable.
  • The game is very hard to learn the rule book isn't very good but the designer has a great uh explainer video on his twitch Channel and I believe that has also been linked to YouTube and that's how I learned the game and that's how I think once you learn the game it plays very very well it's very fast.
