Transcript
Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the discriminating gamer. So why didn't the skeleton cross the road? Because he had no guts. Today we're taking a look at Undaunted 2200 Revolution. Now this is a standalone game in the Undaunted 2200 set. So it's not an expansion, okay? But what this is going to do is this is going to give you basically four scenario branching arc. Okay. Okay, so if you want to play like a little campaign for scenario campaign that's going to mod be modified or changed every time you play it, you got that. It's got 15 standalone scenarios. It's got a bunch of new boards. Oh my gosh, folks. This is Undaunted 2200 series game. I love that series. So, I'll tell you what. Let's go down to the table. Let's open this one up. Let's see what's on the inside.
All right, folks. Here we go. This is Undaunted 2200 Revolution. I thought this was an expansion. I did not know this was going to be a standalone game. Oh my gosh. All right, so we got David Thompson and Trevor Benjamin designing this thing. Illustrated by Roland McDonald and published by Osprey Games. Now, love David Thompson's designs. Roland McDonald is a phenomenal artist. I love all the stuff that he's been doing. Just looking at this game is going to look fantastic. But what do we have in this particular one? Asteroid Belt, Rare Metal Ventures Mining Facility. Okay, so definitely going to be some different looking maps on this one. But the cool thing about this one is you can play through branching four scenario long narrative arcs or you can just pick one of the 15 different scenarios and play it. I love the four scenario arc idea. I can't wait to see how that one plays out because then you can just sit there and go through them all and I don't know, figure out who the overall winner is at the end of the four arcs. Okay. Oh, but hey, as I forgot, let's get this off here and then I'll show you. We got ages 14 and up. 45 to 60 minutes. You're looking two or four players can play this game. And it's, of course, a versus game. I've never played this as a team game. Well, actually, no, I'm sorry.
I've played Undaunted as a team game. I've never played Undaunted 2200 as a team game. Um, I really, really like Undaunted as a team game. Curious on this one here. I bet I would like this one just as much. Okay. All right. Oh, yeah. Look at that space. It's purple. See, they always say it's dark and black. It's purple. It says right there. Okay. Now, we're gonna have our core rules. Let's start off with that. Okay. And you know what? Let's I'm going to do it this way. I'm going to slide this off to the side. It's just easier for me to do these rule books when they're sitting on my table because then [snorts] I can kind of lean on them and whatnot. All right. Nice little table of contents. 34 page rule book. All right. And the rule books for a Dante I've never really had a problem with. I've always been pretty good. Okay. All your components you're going to get. And I do like how it has like a little index thing down the side so you can know where what section you're in. You got your component breakdown.
All right. So, hey, I mean, look at this. Just go over to setup section if you just want to skip all that. Some people like setup beginning. There's a setup section. You can just go right to it. Makes it easy. And there we are. Setup. Okay. Got a round structure. Player turns. I'm sure this is going to play very similar to Undaunted, but it looks like we're definitely going to be doing some different different unique stuff with every game they come out with in these series. And that's the beauty about Undaunted. Once you know how to play the game, you can pick up the other ones and there's not a lot of modifications and changes to them. You just have you learn those, but they all man, they kind of have that same feel. Um, but massively different play ability and there that's why you can put every one of these in your collection and you're good to go. All right. And you got your game end right there.
Rules for four players. Oh yeah. Commander markers. I four players. I really want to play this four player. All right. Quick reference. Okay. So you got your round structure. You got, of course, your different train. And you got your combat. All that information right on the back for you right there. Now, the game says it's going to come with uh an introductory rule book. 15 scenarios, if I remember right, is what it's going to come with. This I'm just going to go ahead and leave up here. All right, we got scenarios and campaign play. Okay, so I'm curious. Campaign play is one of the things I'm really curious. I'd love to sit down and just play just bash out four games in a row this on a on a Saturday or something like that and just have a whole lot of fun. Okay, so scenario zero, we got one A, one B, and I don't know if there's I'm I'm sure on the the scenario it's like, hey, you're going to play 1A and then 5B or I don't know what it's going to be. Okay, high orbital gambit, but yeah, all your scenario breakdown.
Every scenario is just on one page, which is really cool. So, you just flip to that. All the stuff's open right there. Very nice. You're not going through multiple pages. You can just open it and you're good to go. Okay, scenario three. Oh, I bet that's what it is. You're going through a I bet there's four different sets. I'm is going to be my guessing. You're doing one of every one when you're doing the campaign. No Mercy. Or maybe maybe there's one final four. Maybe there is no four. I don't know. We got three G. I figured there'd be a four by now. There is no four. So, it's just going to be three. So, all right. But there you go. So, we're going to get to our of course our last page. Okay. Game design, everything else. and nothing on the back. So, see, I was wrong. Now, introductory rules. Read this uh for your first game. So, when you're ready to play the game, this is what you want to go through because this is going to basically get you going on this game.
It's only a 24 page rule book, but this is going to cover everything for you. So, components using this is going to be a little more minimal. All right? But this is going to teach you how to play the game right out the get-go. Okay? Okay, so if you're not familiar with the Undaunted series, even if you're familiar, sometimes going through these is very helpful just as a reminder. Okay, maybe you forgot something in the game. Maybe it's been a long time since you played it. Okay, this is just going to kind of give you that refresher. [snorts] So, I do like that they do these introduc. Okay, game in. You got a sample round so you can see what everybody's doing on their sample round. And another quick reference right there on the back of this. Very cool. All right. Now, looks like we got one of our little player boards. Okay, let's turn it this way so we can actually read everything. And it's not all just sideways.
Flip it over. And what do we got? Half of it's upside down. But you know what? We're okay. Oh, wow. And that's all you get. You get one board of tokens. Now, we're going to get several boards, but like I said, I do like how they put these corners in here like this. So, I'm going to get try to get one of these out. push this off to the side. Now, this is A01. That's what this board's going to be. Let's get this guy opened up. And it looks like it. Oh, they are two-sided. Okay, so we got A01. I'm going to have to be creative here. But yeah, this is like a whole mining. Oh, this is Boy, this just totally changes this game up. This is your asteroid belt. All right. Very nice. Very nice. Oh, I do love the look of these. And I like how all the corners aren't even squared. Look at that. Okay, they're all angled up. Very nice. Okay, this is EU01.
This is Euphora's orbit. So, it looks like the different scenarios are totally going to be changing everything up. Each scenario is going to have different gameplay. Oh, man. I am digging on this so far. All right, so that's that board. We got C24 is what we're going to look at now. Okay. All right. See if we can get this one opened up. And as you can see, this one's definitely totally different. Okay. There it is. Got your C24. Okay. And this is Kalisto. Oh, there it is. Kalisto Crater Hills. Okay. Very nice. I'm not sure 100% what these icons are down here.
[snorts] Okay. But yeah, I can't wait to learn the differences between this map compared to some of the other ones or how each one of these maps play differently is what I mean. Okay, L29. Okay, take a look at that. Oh, really cool. Now, this is just the moon. This is the NIH [snorts] Reserve Shipyard Echo 2 right there. Okay, now there you go. There's your little icons down there. So, something about that. Okay. But oh, look at I mean, look at the craters on this thing. Got a couple facilities right there. Got a facility right there. You know, I'm sure coming over this section right here is going to be a little bit different. Oh, man. Very cool. I do like it. Okay, get him off to the side. All right, now this is going to be M67.
Oh, and this one definitely has a different feel. Okay, got M67. Look like we got a couple of some facilities here. Another one right here. This is in fact well Mars. Okay, this is the Titan Tech assembly yard. Okay, got our key right there. Very cool. I do like this. Very nice. All right, and let's flip this guy over. And what do we have? We're going to have E83. All right, looks like we got a nice little road going on right there. Oh, okay. This is going to be Earth New Tokyo. See, I can see it starting here, going to Mars, hitting some mining colonies. You got your key down here for everything. Very cool. I do. This is really, really nice. It's like a little river running right through here. Okay.
And that is going to be that map right there. [snorts] That's a cool thing I like about the uh this set. And Dant says, I like how it has all these different um the different maps. I think all the different maps are really cool. Now, we're also going to have looks like a bunch of tile tokens. Okay. Okay. And these are all double-sided as well. So, your scenarios are probably going to have you place some of these on the board. Definitely looks like our Tokyo board there. But in the backside, you can use it for deep space. Hey, we're back to black. So, maybe space is black. All right. There's your double-sided on that guy. All right. Okay. And we're having a bunch of these. Oh, wow. We got a bunch of Holy crud. Okay. I'm gonna figure how to put all this back in there. Got your double-sided there. I think these are actually going to be close to the same but a little bit different artwork. So, we're going to take a look at it. Now, we're going to have some doubles. Okay.
So, let's take a look at our double tiles. Okay. Looks like there's nothing on the back sides of these. All righty. Nothing there. Nothing up my sleeve. All right. And then we're going to have these all look to be the same. Back side of these is going to be the same as well. So, let's get this out. Let's just drop those in place. And I'm sure Oh, one more of those. Okay. Plus, we have that guy. And what's on the backside? More of those. More of these little mining colonies. Okay. So, let's get that in there. Now, it looks like this is going to fit here. We'll take all these little threes. And the little threes are going to fit right here.
Okay. Then we're going to have this guy which is going to fit upside down like right here. But we have stuff that we can probably put right there later on. And this guy here, he's just going to float on top. Okay, let's leave him off to the side for right now. So, let's just start going through everything. Let's go with the non-cards. We'll do the cards last. I like to do the cards last. All right, so we're going to have just some regular dice. Okay, nice little 10-sided dice. If you want to use your own, you can. If you want to use these, use whatever you want to do. But the cool thing about 10 regular 10-sided dice. Everybody can have their own. Really, really nice. Acrylic cubes just going to be used for tracking stuff. We don't need to pull acrylic cubes out of bags. You guys know what they look like. Now, we're going to have our cards. Okay, let's take a look at our cards. So, the backs are all going to be the same on these. Now, what do we have?
We're going to have our supervisor. So this is going to be we got of course our numbers for your turn order bids and all that other stuff like that. But you can have your A's and B's squad leaders, your transports. Okay. Oh, wait a minute. I had transport A's, transport B's. Got to make sure I'm paying attention here, folks. Transport Bes. All right. There's your bomber A's. Your bomber B's. Looks like you're getting three cards every set. Of course, you're going to have your fighters. And then we got our fighter B's, our ground shot A's, four of these ones, and our ground shot B's. And then, of course, our sky shots. Looks like there's four of these ones as well.
All right. And now we got supervisor squad leader A and B. All right. Now, our discord. Okay. And that is what the last of this is going to be. Just the Discord cards. Okay, let's put these right here. Now, what do we have over here? Okay, we have that little tag. It's about ready to fall off. Back to the cards. These ones all still look the same. We're going to have our captain. Okay, squad leaders for A and B. And then, of course, we're going to have our transport A's, transport B's. Okay, bomber A's. Don't know if these are 100% the same as the other ones, but you know what? I'm just going to show you all of them. Fighter B's, of course, all the different actions you can take with them. Your ground shot, ground shot B, of course, your sky shot.
And they all have different artwork anyway, so you know you want to look at them. Your sky shot B's, squad leader A, and squad leader B. Okay. Okay, now you got your tactical officer B, shotgunner B, ground shot mod B, and then all of your blue Discords are all going to be right there. Okay, so you got your yellow and you got your blue. Now, what do we have over here? We have two different sets of cards. Okay, get this off of here. I'm going to slide this up a little bit so we can put these down because these are a lot harder to hold on to and maneuver around. All right. And let's actually let's see these all. Okay. So, we got our yellows and we got our blues. Let's start with this group right here. So, we got our A transport and our Yeah. Okay. So, these are cargo. So, you know what? Let's do this.
Let's flip through all these real fast. So, this is going to be like all of our scenarios. Okay. So, this is going to be your cargo. All right. All right. You got your pilots, got your disembark, A transport, B transport. Oh, there's your blues. Okay, so we have those. I I feel like I missed one in there. I don't think I did. Okay, now these, what do we have? So, these are going to be like Okay, so these are your zero. So, these are your rivalries renewed, rivalries renewed, breaker, victory, and there's if you're defeat, and then there's your backside there. Okay, for the zero. Now, looks like we're going to have all the like victory conditions, everything else. Okay, so you're going to have your front and back of all of these. Now, I'm not going to show you all of these because you're just going to have to go get this game and you're going to have to experience this or I'm sure somebody else is going to have it. But there you go. Okay, but you're going to have these are all your different scenario cards. So, you have all these different scenario cards you're going to get for this game, which is really cool.
Now, what do we have here? Oh, let's see. Looks like we're going to get the same. We're going to get the scenarios for A and B as well. So, I'm tell you what, I showed you all of yellow. Okay, rivalries renewed. Okay, I'm now going to show you all the blues because I'm pretty sure each one's going to be different. Okay, yellow, yellow, and blue are definitely going to have Oh, yeah. So, next scenario is going to be based on whether it's a victory or defeat is what it looks like. Okay. All right. Yeah. So, like 2C here, but 2D here. So, that's probably how it's going to bounce. All right. So, there you go. I showed you zero and ones for both yellow and blue. And that's how you get to look on scenarios for me. Go experience scenarios by getting the game and playing it. That's the best way to do it in my book. I like to I like I don't like to know what's going to happen all the time. Now, this is our last deck of cards we have in here. Let's see what we have.
Electroshot. Okay, these look like they're almost neutral cards. Okay, so these are probably I'm guessing these are ones that one side or the other may be adding to their deck per the different scenarios. Or these are Oh, these might be the mechs, too. But these are the different mechs you can get because I do remember they had mechs and it's been a long time since I played the original 2200. All right, there we go, folks. That's everything in this game. This actually looks like it goes right there. Check that out. Okay, it just slid out. Too much too much movement. Okay, in this particular box when it's on its side, apparently, but to get everything back in this, you're just going to put all your boards on top. Okay, this punch board, which this is probably going to go on the very very bottom. And there is a little bit of lip, a little bit of room right there, and I so I can understand how things are moving around.
Okay, but we're going to get our three rule books in there. Let's get our lid put on. Oh, Undanted 2200 Revolution. Folks, this game looks amazing. I love Undaunted 2200 and I can't wait to play this one here as well. I want to go through these scenarios. I want to see how that four game campaign plays out. Okay. How does it go between all the different missions? Really looking forward to this one. All right, let's head up top and close this out. All right, folks. There you go. That is Daunted 2200 Revolution. And oh my, I mean, this just looks like more great goodness in the Undaunted Line. Everything I've ever played on the Undaunted Line has always been just fun and phenomenal. I really, really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the Undaunted series because I like that science fiction, but then again, I do like the the historical piece from the regular Undaunted series. Revolution being standalone with the new maps and everything else. 15 different scenarios.
There is so much gameplay in this box. Cannot wait to get this one played. Just looks fantastic. Well, thank you once again for joining us today.
