Everdell Journeys - Teach & Playthrough
Transcript
Hi everyone, my name is Bonnie
and I'm Naveen from Before You Play
and today we are playing Everdell Journeys.
Yes, in this game we are taking on the roles of critters who are trying to plan the finest journey around Everddale. We're trying to pick up experiences and ultimately sing our songs in the inn with the fellow patrons.
Yes, we are going to be choosing and playing journey cards and making a grand plan of sorts. And so this is primarily a drafting style game in which each round we're going to be drafting these journey cards from our hands, playing them to our tableau, and attempting to travel across them. And so this game is all about trying to find the right cards to synergize with one another so that we can score the most amount of points while also being able to return to the end to sing songs about our journeys, tier other patrons, and score more points that way. This game plays one to six players in roughly 30 to 60 minutes. designed by James Wilson as well as Clarissa Wilson and published by Tycoon Games, who are helping sponsor this playthrough.
Now, in addition to the main competitive mode, the game will also come with a couple of other modes, including a solo as well as a two-player cooperative mode. But today, we are going to be playing the two-player competitive mode. And so, today, as usual, we are going to start with the teach of the game and go straight to a two-player playthrough. If you'd like to jump around, we'll include timestamps in the description below.
Now, we do have to mention this is a prototype copy of the game, so things are subject to change. If you're interested in the campaign, it is set to launch in a future date, which you can check out in the description down below. And lastly, if you like these kind of videos and you want to see more in the future, please consider subscribing.
And with that, we are ready to begin. So, if you please direct your attention to the set of the table, we're all set up here for a two-player game of Everdell Journeys. Welcome to the end.
And so, like we're mentioning, in this game, we play as travelers who are setting out on a long journey across Everddale. And so over the course of three rounds, our goal is to draft cards from our hands in order to create a plan and hopefully execute on this plan by traveling across the various cards and returning back to the inn from time to time in order to tell others about our story and gain some cheers along the way. And at the end of the game, the player who is able to score the most amount of points by creating the most decorated story wins the game. Now, Everdell Journeys is primarily a drafting game. And there are actually two ways in which you can choose to play. The primary way is just by playing a standard draft in which each round players will be given a hand of eight cards. And each turn we'll be drafting a card and simultaneously revealing it and taking all of our actions.
So after you draft your card, you're going to be passing your deck to the next player. And over the course of the round, we're going to draft a total of five cards.
Yeah. So this type of draft is a lot faster and a lighter way of playing because we're basically going to be taking all of our actions simultaneously. Now, if you prefer a more competitive game, you can do the open draft in which you'd lay out cards face up, and players will actually take turns taking a card from the open display. This is going to be more strategic, but also a bit of a longer game because players will be taking turns. And so, it is recommended for player counts of four or less. As for our playthrough today, we are going to be doing the standard closed draft. And so, before we talk about what you'll be doing during a turn, let's take a look at a journey card. Journey cards look like this. They each represent a location in Everddale where you are planning to travel to like Stumpy Null.
The Stumpy Null. That's right. We also have the Farhore. So, there's a whole there's a ton of these cards. And each card at the top leftand corner will show one of three different types of terrain. Here we have the mountainous peaks. We also have the green foothills. And there are also ridges which sort of look like canyons right there. So, three different types of terrain. In addition, cards may have one or more stamps. And I believe there are five different stamps in the game. They are the colored squares at the bottom here. As you can see, this card has three of them. And some cards, not all, but some have a way stone. And I believe there are five different types of wayston stones as well. Now, each card will also have a special ability at the top of the card, which you'll be able to activate as you'll see. And so, once all players have drafted their card, then we are going to simultaneously reveal them. And like Nvidita is mentioning, each round we're going to be drafting a total of five cards. So by the end of the game, you will have three rows of five cards each.
After revealing your card, you must then decide if you'd like to either travel or rest this turn. Now, if possible, you will want to travel. And so what that entails is over the course of the game, we are going to be moving our traveler figure across the various cards that are on our plan. It represents us journeying, of course. Yep. Now, if you'd like to travel, you'll need to first pay the cost of the card that you'll be traveling onto. And in this game, we are going to be spending our campfire tokens as currency. Each card has a number in the top lefthand corner, and that is the amount of campfire tokens you'll need to flip over in order to travel to that card. In addition, as you'll see, we are going to be moving our traveler from card to card. And if when moving you move to a new type of terrain, then you must spend an additional campfire. And that includes when moving to the first card of the game.
Yes. So if Monnique wants to travel to this card, she'd have to spend a total of two campfire tokens. One for the card and one because of the new terrain.
That's right. And I would place my traveler on the card like that. And there will be ways for you to flip over uh your campfire tokens again, but when spent, you just flip them over to their extinguish side. Then you always get to activate the card's ability, which again is at the very top of the card. In this example, this Stumpy Null here immediately scores me one point for each peak terrain. And that's going to be for the card itself, as well as all cards that I've already traveled across, which in this case is just one point cuz it's just the first card. But let's just say as an example, this had been the second card I drafted and I had already passed through this one. then I would have scored two points because I would have already traveled through this card which also has that peak type terrain. Then once all players have activated their card abilities and finish taking their turns, we would continue on to the next turn drafting another card and simultaneously revealing it. And each additional card you draft gets placed to the right of the last card that you played. And so again, we are drafting a total of five cards which will form a long row. And if this turn I chose to travel, then I would only have to spend one campfire because this is the same type of terrain as the card that my traveler is currently on.
And as another example, if I were to travel to this card, spending one campfire token, then the ability up here gains me one point for each of these green landscape patches, and I only have one, which is on the previous card. Since I've already traveled on it, then I do score the point for it.
Yeah. And our score tracker is this right here.
Yes. It is a a windy road.
Yeah. Your path. Now, you'll notice that on this card, in addition to that scoring ability, we also have these two tankered symbols. And this represents our traveler going to the inn and telling stories of our travels to the various patrons. Yep.
So, for each of those symbols, you're actually going to move your own player tankered that many spaces around the track here. And each time you meet or exceed the 10 space, which represents the counter, then you actually get to draw a song card. And the thing that's special about these song cards is not only do they score you points at the end of the game, but some of them, not this one, but some of them will also provide you with additional patch symbols, and these are always in play. So unlike cards that you have not traveled across yet, those will not contribute their patch symbols for any of these scoring criteria, but songs that you've acquired will stay in front of you and they will always contribute their patches anytime you activate card abilities that reference them. And these song cards will also help you with the end of round scoring uh competition as you'll see in a second. In addition to patches, some cards also have these waystone symbols.
And just like patches, there are five different types. And the importance of these is that some cards will reference them for scoring. So, as an example, this song and dance card will score you three points for each of those cards that you have that you've traveled across already that have that specific waystone. In addition to waystones, you'll also encounter cards that are specifically they have the specific legend way stone on them. And all of these cards with a scroll basically give you endame scoring points. They'll score you 10 points if the criteria has been met, which is always a competition amongst other players. So in this example, you want to have more cards with the ridge terrain than the player seated to your left or equal to them. And if that is true, then at the end of the game, you'll score 10 points. In addition, some cards will give you the ability to refresh a certain number of your campfire tokens. So, anytime you see the campfire symbol, that allows you to do that. And then anytime you see these book symbols, this allows you to draw a journal token from the bag. And so, each player starts the game with two journal tokens already that are considered to be active. And each journal token has a requirement on the left that you're trying to fulfill. As soon as you fulfill this requirement, then you'll flip over the journal token.
And at the end of the game, you'll score the amount of points to the right. Now, the thing that's important is as soon as you flip it over, it becomes inactive. And that's important because each player can only have at most three active journals at any given time. Yep.
And these journals will typically want you to have a certain combination of either terrain on your cards or in these examples, these are specific waystones. Naveen has two songs, it looks like.
Yeah. So, I want to get myself around this twice.
Yes. And anytime you draw a journal, you're going to draw from the bag. So, we have a whole slew of these. And just like everything else, in order for you to complete these journals, your traveler must have traveled to the card that makes it true.
Yeah. So, you can't just put these two way stone symbols out here and not actually move your traveler onto it. If that's the case, then you will not score them until you actually get them past both of those.
Yes. But those points you'll score at the end of the game. Now, if during a turn you either choose not to travel or if you can't afford to travel because let's just say I play a card like this, which actually requires me to spend three campfire tokens, but I only have two of them.
Again, she would have to spend three because two plus it's now a different terrain.
And instead of traveling, I would have to rest. And taking a rest action allows you to refresh three campfire tokens and draw a journal token from the bag. Now the last thing is going back to taking a travel action when traveling. You can actually rearrange the order of the cards that you have not traveled to yet. So if for example it looked like this and I really wanted to travel to this card before this one because I have not traveled to them yet, I could rearrange them like this so that this is the card that I travel to next. In addition, when traveling, you can go as far as you'd like to go in one turn as long as you're able to pay for each card cost. And the reason this situation may arise is because if you take a rest action, you're not moving your traveler. But as you refresh more of these campfire tokens, you may have enough currency to actually move more than one card,
right? Because again, each turn, we are going to be drafting a card. So players are going to end each round with five cards in each row, regardless of how many times you rested.
But you just can never travel and rest in the same turn. Right
now, once all players have drafted a total of five cards, the round will end. you will discard the rest of the three cards that are still left in your hand. And then all players will move into the in scoring phase where we are going to score for the three different objectives in the end. At the end of the first round, we're only going to be scoring the cheers token that's in the blue glass. At the end of the second round though, we'll be scoring both of these. So, the blue and then the green. And then after the third round, you'll score all three. And each scoring token basically has a specific criteria that you'll need to have amongst your cards in order to move around the tiers track. As an example, at the end of the first round here, players will score one tier point for each of the yellow trail patch that they have on their cards that they've traveled to.
Yeah. So, in Mon'nique's example here, she has not traveled to these two cards. So, she would not get to move,
right? That would be bad. But had I traveled to both of them by the end of the round, then I would have been able to move my tanker two spaces on the tier track. And just like during the round, each time you reach or pass the 10 counter, then you get to draw a song card. This is important because at the end of this in scoring phase, you're going to compare your total number of song cards plus your position on the cheers track with a player seated to your left. And if you have more or equal to them, you score five points. But if you have less, you don't score the five points, but you get to refresh a campfire token. And once all players are finished scoring, then we move on to the next round, and all players get to refresh one campsite. Then we'll deal out a new hand of eight cards to each player and we'll begin again. Once we finished the incororing phase of the third round where again we have to score all three of these tokens, the game will end and we go into final scoring. At that point, all players will score points for all of the songs that we've collected because each song will score a certain number of points. We'll also score our completed journals. And all players who have a legend card as a part of their plan will score 10 points as long as it's true. And again, these are a competition. you have to have more or equal to of a certain thing than the player seated to your left. And just like anything else, you can only count cards that you've at least traveled to with your traveler.
So, this game is really all about drafting the right cards, placing them in the right order so that you can actually be efficient with your campfire tokens, be able to move as far as possible so you can activate as many of your cards as possible and try to score as many points.
Yes. And you're trying to synergize your cards basically. Now, in the final game, there will also be a solo as well as a two-player cooperative mode in which players go up against a rival. But as for today, we are going full competitive, right?
You're going down.
So, for now, we're going to go ahead and get cleaned up and we'll get started with a play through.
Okay, we are all set up. We're ready to go. All the cards have been shuffled. We each drew eight cards from the journey deck. We are going to be doing the clos draft, so turn order technically doesn't matter because it's technically simultaneous.
Yes. But we are going to be kind of discussing the cards that we choose and all that stuff on our turns. Again, the game is played over the course of three rounds. And at the end of each round, we will have an incororing phase. And each time you play the game, you will have different cheer windows, which will be your scoring criteria. So, for our game today, the blue one will award us one cheer point for each of these trail patches that we have on our cards that we've journeyed to.
Two. Yep.
Very important. In the second round, they will be for cards with the peak terrain as well as the trail patch because again, these are cumulative. And then at the end of the game, in addition to these two, we will also score three tier points for each of these caravan waystones we have on our cards. And those, by the way, do not contain terrain. So when we come across them, we will explain how they work. Now, during setup, each player also drew three journal tokens. And we chose which two to keep. So for me, I chose these two. This one wants me to have three of these uh peak terrain that I've at least traveled to, and that's going to award me three points at the end of the game. And then this one wants me to have three landscape patches.
Gotcha. Okay. For me, uh so this one wants me to journey to all three different types of terrain.
Yes.
So, if I can do that, it's going to cost me a lot of fire
to do that. I'm going have to hop around, but that's okay. Uh and then this one over here wants me to have two way stones. Yeah. So, if I do that, any type of way stone. Yeah.
Uh cuz they come in five different varieties. uh then we get three points.
Nice. All right. Otherwise, I think we are ready to begin with round one. Now, again, we're doing the closed drafting game. So, we are simultaneously going to choose a single card from our hand, play it face down, and pass the rest of the deck to our opponent. So, keep that in mind. Are you ready?
I'm ready.
All right. Here we go. Let's go ahead and draft our card. So, I'm going to take this one. Okay.
I'm going to play it face down. We're going to be building out a row of land cards. So, try to play it to the leftmost slot.
Here's the rest of my hand.
And here you go. Thank you. Traffic jam. All right. Shall we reveal? Sure. One, two, three.
Okay. So, now that we revealed our cards, we're technically simultaneously supposed to choose whether to travel or rest. I'm assuming because we are so loaded up on campfire tokens, we are both going to travel.
You got it.
So, this we will do sort of in a turn order. It doesn't really matter, but I guess I'll go first. What do you think?
Sure. You're talking. Why not?
All right. So, I played the bell song card. I guess there's a location called Bellong. It is in the peaks terrain. So I guess this is a mountainous area and there are a couple of things here. First of all, I have a way stone. This is the city way stone and it has two patches. So I went for the patch strat immediately.
Sure.
So the first thing that I have to do if I'd like to travel to this guard is I have to pay. So the amount that I have to pay is two cuz that's a number here plus one because it is technically a different terrain. You basically for the very very first turn in the game, you have to just pay that additional campfire token. So, it's going to cost a total of three campfires. It's kind of expensive because I'm probably going to have to rest soon unless I can find a card that'll allow me to flip over campfires basically.
But now that I've done that, I get to activate the card itself, which at the very top of the card. Hey, this allows me to draw a journal token and refresh a campfire. I almost forgot, honestly. So, I get to draw a journal token from the bag. And again, each player can only have at most three active journals. So, we each already have two. This is my third one. I Oh, this is hard. Okay,
the blue symbols,
the blue patches, these are dwellings, so I have to have five of these to score six points. So, until I can score them, I really can't hold more than three, but you can always draw more and discard down if necessary,
right?
Uh, and that's essentially it. This is nice because at the end of the round, I will be scoring these cheer points for these patches. But how about you, Naveen?
All right. So, uh, for me, uh, we all know the Stumpy Null. I just happened to to draw it as part of my starting eight. So, the stumping null, which we talked about in the teach, if you're here for that, uh it's going to cost me one to get onto it plus one. So, it's going to be a total of two. Let's just take these top two.
Nice.
Uh then, uh this is going to get me the uh patch, that green patch.
Yeah.
So, that'll be a future me thing. Um and then I get to score one point for every mountain. Yes,
I have one mountain.
The peak.
The peak. Yes.
Well, you're already ahead.
I'm winning. Let go.
Now, that uh that ability
Yeah. uh is only activated when you move on to the card, right? So, we now have these symbols, the patches, the way stones, and the terrain symbols for all future cards that score those things, but the actual top part of the card itself is now done.
Mhm. There is an effect uh in some of these cards that says basically copy uh the ability of another card and that is one way that you can access that top ability.
That is true. So, we will tell you about it if and when we see that if and when.
All right. So, again, we are going to be drafting a total of five cards this round. So, let's go and draft our second card.
Okay.
All right. Ready?
Yes.
All right. So, I'm going to go ahead and draft this. Here is your hand.
There you go.
And let's reveal. One, two, three.
All right. Cheapy for me.
Same.
Oh, yeah. So,
that didn't feel good passing that to you.
This one. So, you knew you saw this one?
Yeah, I saw that one. I knew that.
Okay. So, this is a caravan. We did not explain this during the teach, but basically the caravan cards have the caravan way stone, and they do not have any terrain. So, whenever you move onto a caravan card, you're not paying the extra terrain, but whenever you move off of it, you do have to refer to the last terrain that was on a card.
So, this represents a mountain because the previous one was mountain,
basically. So, the thing that's nice about this card is it's going to allow me to refresh campfire tokens. I'm going to travel.
This doesn't cost me anything because even the number is zero. So, I don't spend any uh campfire tokens. Instead, I get to refresh two of them. And I have my first cheer point. So, I'm I've started the process of talking to these patrons, bothering them basically like, "Hey, listen to my story."
All right, very good. Uh, didn't feel good passing that card, like I said, but uh I am going to be moving on from here to the uh questionable storyteller.
This costs nothing, but because we're changing terrains,
uh, it's going to cost me one.
It costs nothing because it's a questionable storyteller. Who knows?
The ability
come of this.
Exactly. The ability is I get one point plus one point for every brown companion patch. So the card itself has one. So I'm going to get two points out of
the mouse C symbol.
Yeah. So it's going to be one, two.
Oh,
there we go.
Oh, that's awesome.
Yeah, it's it it's good. I I don't really like what you've built here. You You have one, two, three, and you've traveled to all three.
Yeah, but they're just cheer. We'll see. Let's draft our third card, shall we?
Okay.
Ready?
Yes.
All right. This is the card.
Okay, that's my card.
And I'm choosing to draft. Here's the hand.
There you go.
Thank you. All right, let's reveal. One, two, three.
Yep.
I have drafted a legend card. So, this is a very special type of waystone because these cards will score you 10 points at the end of the game if we can make them be true.
So, it's not guaranteed. So, I'm definitely going to travel. Uh, it's going to cost three campfire tokens and no additional token because it is technically the same type of terrain as the last terrain card. So, just three, which is nice because my journal wants me to have three of those mountain peaks. So, I'm one away from completing that journal. But this card will immediately get me four tiers. So, I'm one, two, three, four bothered an additional four tables.
There you go.
And at the end of the game, I will score 10 points if I have more than or equal to Naveen um in these caravan waystones,
which you already doing right now.
Yes. So that's why I decided to play it because I figured, you know, I have one already in the bank if I can try to maintain that or have more. Like the thing that's nice is I can have the same amount as Naveen.
Yep.
Yeah.
Oh, and by the way, this is the path of the beacons. It's why it's a legend. This is the a legend that was told and I have reached it.
All right.
All right.
How about you?
So, I'm going to rest. I played this card so I will not be advancing because I don't want to pay the very expensive fees and I also don't like the ability here. I had to kind of hate draft this from you.
Oh,
if I passed this hand, if I played a different card and gave this to you, you would definitely put this into play. It's your third mountain. Not good.
It gets you two more spins
and it would get you three points because you have Oh, you have all the yellows.
So, I had to kind of just do that for a rest. And then remember, if you if you were here for the rules, just because this card is here in the future, it can move somewhere else as long as I haven't traveled to it. So, I can put I can for free push it where it's more opportunity for me.
Yes. does not have to be the next card that that Naveen travels to.
So, I am going to rest. And uh what that allows me to do is flip over three of these tokens.
And you get a journal.
I do. So, it can kind of get me a decision point that I would prefer. So, let's see what I got.
You're also one away from completing this.
Yeah, I am one away that Yeah, exactly. Uh this one have uh just get one caravan.
Oh, no.
I mean, we were always going to I you know, the caravans are coming.
So, I
Are they Are they Naveen? or you hate.
I don't know. I don't know. I mean, it's a very large deck. It plays like six players or something. So, I don't know what the distribution of these like way stone and patches are, but at least now I know it's coming for me.
I'm coming.
All right. Are you ready to draft card number four?
Uh, yes.
Okay. Ready?
Yes.
All right. I'm choosing this card.
Okay.
Here is the rest of my hand. All right. Thank you. All right. Let's reveal. One, two, three.
Boom. Okay. So, I have played Rams. Ram. Is it Ram?
Okay. Ram's horn pass.
Okay.
I think Ram It sounds like Ram is a is a a being, a person or an animal. This is their horn pass.
Oh, unless it means like the rams, like the animal rams
probably.
Probably. So, this is technically my third.
Actually, definitely. Rams have horns.
This technically my third peak, but because I am not going to be traveling this turn, I do not fulfill this journal. All of those cards were expensive. I only have two campfire tokens, so I cannot travel to this card just yet. But as soon as I do, it's going to score me two points per peak, which will be nice. Just not now.
So, you're resting.
So, I'm resting.
So, one, two, three. I
Yeah,
you still get to draw. And then you can discard the one you don't want,
which is nice because this is not happening.
The blue. Yeah.
Five dwellings. All right. Instead, I can do four.
Four dwellings. Yeah, that's good.
Get rid of it.
Yeah.
Why? Why? Why go for an extra one when you can do one less?
When you can do four.
Yeah.
All right. That one.
Yeah. Maybe you'll make something work.
All right.
Okay. So, for me, uh I played this one here. I had previously rested. I'm going to move it.
Okay.
So, we have the boring scholar. Oh,
is it bor boring?
I think so. That's a B, right?
Boring scholar. What? If possible.
That's okay. Uh it's the same terrain, so we are going to move. Yeah,
it's going to cost two.
One, two. But the benefit is I gain one of my fires back, which is great. I don't want I don't want to rest anymore.
Then I score one point for every uh critter,
the companion.
Companion. There you go. So, it's going to be one on it two.
So, that that's where now we're looking back now. So,
you're looking across, you know, you
looking back in time.
You're journeying across Everddale. You're becoming wiser. You know, you're learning from your experiences. So, you'll be able to recall the things you've already been through, good or bad. Right,
Naveen?
Exactly.
All right. So, we're going to go ahead and draft our final card for the round, and then we'll go into the end scoring phase. All right. Ready?
I'm ready.
Okay. So, here is our final draft. The last three cards are going to get discarded. So, we're just going to discard them off screen.
Sure.
Let's go ahead and reveal. Ready? One, two, three.
Okay. What do you got?
I have another legend card.
So, um for me,
I'm definitely going to travel now. I could reorder these two, but why do that when I can just fulfill this journal now? Uh, there really is no reason to, frankly. But if you're curious, this is Starfall Lightor Horn. Lighthouse. Starfall Lighthouse. Oh, it's so pretty.
And at the end of the game, I will score 10 points if I have greater than or equal to the amount of way stones as you.
As of right now, I'm only showing one, which is the card I just put into play.
I have four.
Yeah, that's not good.
It's one, two, three, four. So, we'll see if we can make that work. But I am going to travel. So I'm traveling to Rams Horn Pass. It's the same terrain. So it's just going to cost me the base of three camp fire tokens.
Okay.
Now I'm going to activate the card, which is two points per peak terrain. So one, two, three times two. So I go to six.
And then um I also complete my journal. So I have three of those peak terrains. This just becomes inactive. I don't actually score the points of the journals until the end of the game. But now I can hold a third one again. And if I had more campsite tokens, I could continue to travel because I have more cards, but I just I can't afford to do so.
The cost to travel is four. Three plus it's a change in terrain,
right?
Okay. So, for me, uh I have these two. I'm going to swap this.
Which is the new one?
Uh this new one. Silver Frost.
Okay. So, there's a game called Silver Frost.
Silver Frost. That's true.
Um so, this one is going to be quite expensive. It's going to be three plus one because we have a change in terrain.
Okay.
So, we're going to move here. So, everything gets extinguished. So, that's it for me on that.
Okay.
Uh but this gets me uh one of these stones,
which is important for me because I need at least two stones to score this one.
Okay.
Uh then I get one point for every one of these
event. Yes.
Event patches.
This like pinkish red star. So, I get one, two, three right there.
Nice.
I get three points. So, five to eight.
Oh, if you did this one first. The problem with this one first is I get one point for every yellow. I never had an opportunity to draft yellow.
Uh, okay. All right. Well, that is it. That is the end of the round. But before we end, we are going to go into the in scoring phase where we are going to return to the inn and and sing songs hopefully, but really
get people to cheers us enough.
Yeah.
So that they can actually sing songs. I don't know. We'll see if we can make it. So, for our first round, it's going to be one cheer point for each of those yellow patches. the uh the trail patches. I have one, two, three. And it's again, it's as far as you've traveled to. So, I'm going to get one, two, three. I'm short.
Uh zero. So, I will not be moving.
All right. So, then at this point, you would compare the amount of songs and points that you have on this track with a player seated to your left. And if you have more than them, you score five points. So right now neither of us have any songs, but I do have eight cheer points. So I score five points, so I go to 11.
You should probably tell them my score.
No.
Zero.
You're still at the counter.
Eight to zero.
You haven't actually returned to the inn yet, but plenty of time. So the thing with Naveen though is he gets a constellation
flip over.
Flipping over a fire pirate token, which is nice going into the next round. I'll take it. Now we're going to move to the second round and all players get to flip over one.
All right. So, only two going into the next round. Not not not that glorious, but we'll make it work.
Yeah. And at the end of this round, by the way, it's going to be two tier points for each of the peaks in addition to this one. So, let's go ahead and prepare. We're going to go ahead and draw uh eight cards each. We'll see you in a second.
Okay, round two. We have eight new cards. I need to get into the inn. I need to sing some songs.
You're supposed to want to journey Everdell, not go back to the inn.
Well, I want to. Or maybe you're tired.
Yeah, we need a little beverage or something like that.
Okay.
Okay.
All right.
All right.
Let's draft our first card. We're starting a new row.
New row of five. Ready?
Yeah.
All right. I'm going to take this one.
This one over here.
Here is your hand.
Good for you.
The next one. All right.
All right. Let's reveal. One, two, three.
Caravan.
Do you want to go first? Sure. Since I was going first. Okay.
So, caravan card. I am actually going to scoot it. Wait, I I actually moved here. That should be there.
You went there last time?
Yeah. Last time I I did it, but I was like, "Wait, why am I so far behind?"
So, I'm actually going to swap these.
Okay. So, you're traveling.
I'm going to travel.
Uh, so caravan is going to follow what it is. So, it's free.
I'm going to move here. I'm going to turn up two flames. And
turn it up.
We're going to have
a Cheers.
We're going to get a beverage.
Yeah, the caravan is always nice.
Speaking over there. Okay.
It's a nice like rest, but not rest.
Yeah. Need that.
All right. Um, as for me, I played the far city of Ever Blossom. Look how beautiful Ever Blossom is. That's my That's my style of land. So, I am actually going to swap the place of both of these because this is too expensive.
So, I'm traveling.
Okay,
it is going to cost one additional uh campsite token because I'm moving into a new terrain type. This is a ridges. So, it's a total of two. So, one, two. I will probably need to rest soon. But it is now that blue patch the dwelling because I need four. I need four of them. So, the thing that's nice about this card is it gains me two points and three points for each caravan card I've played, which is one.
One, five points.
So, five points.
So, I go to 16.
16. Yeah.
All right.
That is it.
Okay. Very good.
Let's draft our next card. Are you ready?
Yep.
Okay. This is my card. Let's pass our hand.
One, two, three.
Okay. What do you got?
What do you have?
Oh, yeah. Me first. I did the joyful family.
Oh, a little swap. You're traveling.
We're traveling.
All right.
So, uh it's this is caravan.
We look at before
it was peaks.
We're now going to peaks. So, it's going to be just a base value of two.
Okay.
So, two campfires.
Two. The benefits I get is I get one of my campfire tokens back.
And I score one point for every one of my companions companions. Yeah. So, I have one,
two, three. Just three.
Okay.
Yeah. It's not not as good as your six. There you go. Okay.
Yet.
Yet.
All right. Um, as for me, I played the Wanderer's Lookout. I only have one campfire, so I cannot travel. I'm gonna rest.
Okay.
So, one, two, three. I get a journal. May I have a journal?
Yeah.
Token, please. Let's see what I get. I don't think Have Do you know if you've completed yours?
I have actually this one right here. When I play the caravan on the previous one caravan, that should be done.
Okay. Yeah, you have this one.
Uh, what do I got?
There's two way stones. The caravan is a way.
That caravan. Yeah. So, that cleared out two of them. There you go.
Okay. There you go.
Okay. Yeah,
Nine. All right. Yeah, I'm not paying attention.
This is two It's two of the uh foothills and two peaks.
So, you have definitely footoothills of foothills.
So, none of those are complete.
All right. Maybe you can get a foothill with a bunch of blue.
Yeah. We'll see. All right. Uh we're moving on to our third card. It's almost halfway through. Are you ready?
I'm ready.
All right. I'm going to take this card. Let's pass our hands.
Okay. Oh, yeah. Sorry. What are you doing?
Well, I I already know I'm going to move it. So, let me just do that just to because I keep doing this in front of you.
Do some funny business.
I'm constantly moving this thing down. So, it just makes life easier, I think, if I do that.
Okay. Are you ready?
Yep.
Let's flip.
All right. Flip.
So, what do you got?
Okay, we found our first yellow. Uh, so this is an ever blossom trail. So, this one is going to it's it's going to be uh a couple things. So, it's going to cost me one because I'm changing plus another one. So, that's two.
Two.
So, it leaves me with just one left.
Uh, what's nice about this is it says I get to copy one of the uh way stones that I have out there. I'm going to copy this one.
Yeah. So with those abilities, you can choose a card that you've already traveled to that has a way stone and basically take its action again.
So if I take this action, it's one point for every uh one of these like red one two three four or I can do a caravan and get more stuff. So I'll take the four points. Like I said, I I was debating, do I want to take two two of the campfires and another uh mug?
You can always rest. That gets you another journal.
Yeah,
right. Cuz you've already completed two of them.
I'm actually going to complete a third one right now. So it's going to be four points. four. So you go to 15. So that helps you also catch up a little bit.
And so I have completed uh this one. So it's one.
Yeah.
Mountain is two and then a ridge three. So I've done all of them.
Yeah. There. There you go. So now I definitely need is nice for you
at this point. Yeah. And now I can justify this one here
cuz I actually have a yellow,
right?
And we've seen all the cards. I don't think there's much more yellow coming this round.
Yeah, I don't think so.
So I should probably just just move on from this and just kind of
get it done. Yeah.
Okay. Um as for me, I played Starlight Stories. Now I am going to travel and I think I'm going to keep the order that my cards are in right now because if I can travel to this one next or at least before this card, it scores me four points for each of those legends.
So that'll be eight points. You know what I mean? So I'm going to travel here. This is going to cost three campfire tokens. It's the same terrain, so just a total of three.
And this is my legend card. So at the end of the game, if I have at least the same amount of way stones as Naveen, Naveen is now acquiring more of them. So we'll see how that works. You have to score 10 now that I've traveled to. One, two, three, four.
Oh, to my too. You're you're in good shape.
We have a whole other round. I do get three tiers. So, one, two. Each time you reach the counter, you slide over your tankered and you get a song card. I'm going to just take my third now before I forget.
And then song cards will score you points. This is the I'm singing the song of Where We're Going.
That's such a good one.
Wow. There's a whole song here. Um, but at the end of the game, it scores me three points. And it also is just forever. I have one of these patches in the bank at the trail patch.
So that's nice. Sang the song of where we're going.
Good for you.
All right. Shall we draft our penultimate card? Yeah.
Are you ready?
I'm ready.
Okay, go.
Here we go.
Let's swap hands.
Okay, that's for me.
One, two, three.
Reveal.
Reveal. All right. What are you going to do?
Uh, I am actually going to swap this caravan. So, I I took up another caravan because I know you have that thing that says most caravans.
Oh, yeah.
How many do you have total?
One.
I have two now. So,
and it this is another stone. I know you need the most stones. So, like
yeah,
if I'm not getting endame scoring, maybe I can just drag down your endame scoring. The way that's the that's the only way. Yeah.
Chaotic evil.
Just the way it's working. So, okay. So, caravan, I'm going to move on to it. It's going to cost me nothing because it represents this, right?
I'm going to get two of these tokens. I am going to move. Cheers. one ahead.
Nice.
Uh then I am going to continue moving because I want to visit this one.
Yeah.
If I want to get the two uh cheers over there. So I'm going to move.
So this is going to cost me two unfortunately
because it's a new type of terrain.
It's a new type of terrain. Yeah. So it's going to be uh it's going to be one two.
Where is this place?
This happens to be a wrong turn.
Oh no.
I know.
That's okay. It's part of the journey.
It's part of the journey. I get two of these. One, two. That's good for me. And then I'm gonna get one point
for each trail
because I have one trail. Okay.
So, I'll take a point. Yeah. All right. There we go.
There we go.
Look at us. We're tied.
There we are.
All right. Um I played the a true companion. I have had a true companion. Looks like this companion is saving my life, actually. But I only have one campfire token. It's not enough to travel to any of these locations. So, I have to rest.
H. That's unfortunate because I have to Well, I guess this can this isn't my chance to savor that. Yeah.
One, two, three. All right. I need to draw a journal. And hopefully it's something that is easy to complete. What is this? Oh, these are two specific waystones. Do I have it? Do I have it? So, it's this and a legend. I do. But I do have to boot out one of these. So, I will kick this one out first. And then now I'm taking this and I've completed it because you can complete these at any time on your turn as long as they're true. All right, let us move into the final draft of the round. Then we'll go into some in scoring, sing some songs, take a break.
Okay.
Are you ready?
Yes.
Here we go.
Uh and then let's discard our house.
These are all trash.
Yep.
All right. Ready? One, two, three, reveal. What would you like to do?
All right. So, I am going to be resting. Uh I put Honeypaw in play. This one would cost me four total. Three for the base. Plus, we're switching terrains, so that's probably going to be uh move it around. But at the end of the game, if I've visited it, as long as I have equal to or greater uh events than Mon'nique, which I think I have a ton.
I only have two.
Yeah, I have three, four, five.
Oh, no. That's good.
So, yeah. So, then score 10 points. So, I need to get one of these endame scorings and it gets me four of these cheers movements.
Get there.
When I get there. Yeah. So, I'm resting. Okay.
So, that means one, two, three,
and a journal.
And a journal. This is going to be a little overkill. Unfortunately, I'm not going to I'm going to You'll see. I'm going to go to You'll see.
You'll see. I'm I'm going to not be able to flip up a a flame
because you get to ref. So you're you're basically saying you're not going to win the in.
I'm not winning the in. So like that's one is my consolation. And then as we move into the next round, I would get another one. So
okay,
that's too bad. But we have Oh, this one's not bad. I am one away from this. So if I can get one more companion cuz I have three total. I have one, two, three, then I can score four points. Nice. That's good for me.
Yeah, that is good. All right. Oh, I thought it was over. Wait, no, I didn't take my train yet. Do
your thing. Yeah.
Okay, so I played the Toad and Stool.
Um, I am going to travel. Oh, do I travel to this now to gain
move it around
a journal? Yes, probably because I'm still on the ridge terrain. I want to stay on the ridge terrain. So, I'm going to do this. I'm going to move this here because it's going to cost me zero.
Yeah, it's good.
So, I'm moving on here and it get gets me a journal token. So, h please be good to me. My journal fate.
What is that?
Four. Four yellow. Each
one short. These yellow things.
No, you have four. One, two, three, four.
Oh, yeah. My song. All right. Done. Five points. End of the game. That's nice.
All right. Um, I could continue moving, which I think I will do because time is of the essence. Or hold on. Do I need to? Because what if I play another ridge card
before that?
Before that.
Yeah, that's true.
You know what I mean? Because it scores me two points for those ridge symbols. I don't think there's a rush because I don't need them for the incororing. So I won't continue moving. I will just I'll stay.
Okay.
You know what I mean?
Mhm.
Okay. So that is it. That is the end of the round. Let's go into the incororing phase. Now again we are scoring both of these windows. So the first one is going to be one point for each of those. I have one, two, three, four.
Okay.
So one, two, three, four.
I have one. So me one. So you're a full 10 ahead of me.
I'm full 10. Yes. And now it's two cheers for each of those peaks. So I have one, two, three.
Three.
Three. So six.
Six. Yep.
So I go to 10, 11, and I get to draw a song. What am I singing about?
A wild.
I tried.
Yeah. It's a wild symbol.
Oh, it's a wild patch. That's specifically a patch.
Really good. Yeah.
So anytime I score those, I have a wild patch. It's only one point at the end of the game because it doesn't sound like I succeeded in whatever I'm singing about. It's I tried.
Okay.
All right.
All right. So for me it's 1 2 3 4 * 2 is eight. So I'm going to go uh to 13 going around.
Pick this up.
And I I also got a wild.
Okay.
Wild's good. Oh, wild's very nice.
What is the name of your song?
Oh, sorry. My song is Born to Run.
Ah,
for one point.
Maybe you're not a very fast runner
cuz we're not I don't know. They're not scoring us very many points.
It's just a song.
All right. Well, we are now going to compare the number of songs with where we are on the track. So even though Naveen is further than me up on the tears track, I have one more song.
So hers represents 21, right? Each one is 10 plus one and me it's 10 plus three. So I'm 13.
13. So I'm going to get the uh five points.
So I go up to
21 and Nine gets to
I get the console. This is what I was talking about. So I refresh. I'm maxed and as we go into the next round I would be refreshing but I'm already maxed
right now. Yeah.
So I'm going to refresh one.
Not good. All right. Well, we are moving into the final round. Let's go ahead and deal eight cards. We'll see you in a second.
Okay. Final round. We have our last eight cards we've each drawn. So, good luck to you.
Thank you. Thank you.
I think you're doing pretty well.
Good luck to you. Cheers, Naveen.
Thanks.
All right. Draft one. Ready?
Got mine.
Yeah, me too. This one. So, new row. Final row. Here's your card.
Thank you.
Or your deck. One, two, three. Reveal. All right. Uh, what's that?
Shall I go first or do you want to go first? Uh, go ahead.
All right. This is the new berry fields. Cool.
It's a field of berries. So, it it costs zero. I I All it's going to do for me is give me three campfire tokens.
Tuck it whenever the time is right.
Yeah. If I can kind of do some finagling over here, then it could help a lot.
Yeah.
But I am going to travel. I'm not moving any cards around. I'm just going to move to the wanderer's lookout. So, it's going to cost three because I'm coming from ridge. So, just a three. One, two, three. And um it'll score me two points for each of those ridge symbols. Ridge terrain. So I have 1, two, three, four.
Gotcha.
So eight points. So I go to 29.
All right. That's me.
All right. Did you Did you want to tuck this in now?
Then use it.
Do I want to?
Because your next your next couple are exactly it. It's the same terrain. One, two, three. So are you going to start moving on from this train?
If I move on to this terrain, it's going to cost me one. But then you gain three back.
I get one, two, three back.
That's what I thought you That's why I thought you did it.
Cuz this is going to score me two points for each of those for each lit
campfire. So this is going to be maximum eight points, I think.
Yeah, maybe I'll do that. Maybe I'll continue to travel.
It it it saves you a whole rest and like I think you're doing pretty well.
Let's do this.
There you go.
Let's do this.
So I'm going to move on to it now.
So you're changing terrain.
So I'm changing terrain. So, it's one, but it gains me three,
right?
So, one, two, three, and then I think I'm just going to keep moving. So, I move on to here. Same terrain, but cost me two. One, two. So, next turn, if I choose to rest, then I'll be maxed in time for this.
You know what I mean?
Yep.
Um, this card though also gains me two tiers. One, two, and it's going to score me the four points right now.
Okay.
Right. It's four points for each of those. uh legend cards. I have two of them. So, it's eight.
Oh my gosh.
So, eight. So, 37.
Oops. 37.
Look at that.
And then, um I think I completed a journal. I think I did I do both. So, this requires two of both types of terrain. So, two of these two. I think I just did it.
You just did it. Yeah.
Yeah. I have two foothills and two peaks. So, this is done. It'll be five points at the end. And this wants me to have three of those green patches, which I have. One, two, three. So, those are landscapes. Yep.
So, I've completed both of these.
Yikes.
All right. Now, it's on to you.
Okay. So, for me, uh I put a caravan in play.
Yeah.
And so, first things first, I've completed this.
Okay.
And I've completed it because of the draw of my song card.
So, I have one, two, three critters or companions.
Yeah.
Plus, this one will represent the fourth one. Wild. So, that's the four right there. So, I just want to make sure that's just done.
Okay.
Okay. Next, uh I am going to move on. So, it's going to be three plus one for the change. So, it's four of these are going to go face down.
Three, four, and just make a mess.
You're just stepping all over your camp.
Uh, this gets me one of those endame scoring, which is good. So, I'm going to, if I can have the most of these events, then also get 10 points. So, uh, we're going to move up now. 1 2 3 four. So, I go to seven.
Nice.
Okay, that's good for me.
Yeah, you're catching up there.
Uh, and then I'm going to continue moving on. So, we have a caravan.
That's what you played this turn.
Yeah. Cost me nothing. So, it's going to get me two more back. One, two, and then another move.
That's great.
So, I got I got to work this. I cannot let you get 15 points. You know,
I think you're doing pretty well cuz you have how many caravans?
I have three, I believe.
I have three. That's going to be nine.
Nine. Yeah. And then you you have one of your endgame scoring is have equal to or less than or equal to or equal or sorry, two or greater than. And you have how many?
I have one.
One.
So, you're trying to nullify all.
I'm trying to nullify that one. Yeah. I'm trying to nullify the 10.
It's bad. It's bad. All right. Especially in a two-player game. Like
Especially in a two-player game.
Yeah, cuz like if you're scoring the 10,
me taking away 10 is like
feels good, you know?
It's true. I should have focused it on that a little bit more. But we'll see what happens. Now, in lower player counts, you can do the open draft. So, a lot of these like being uh dependent on the the deal of the cards will be pretty much eliminated with that open draft. It does just take a little bit longer to crunch your experience.
Sure.
All right, let's draft our second card. Yep.
Ready?
I'm ready.
Here we go.
And pass.
Okay. Oh, sorry. I revealed I get excited.
All right. Well, I have uh played a legend. The legend of King North.
Okay.
Look at him. He's looking stash. All right. I'm going to travel.
Um Oh, no. I'm not. No, I'm not.
I'm going to rest
because I want the the most bang for my buck when it comes to the companion. So, I'm resting
so that I can draw a journal. So, the resting does take uh time. does,
you know, it does take up valuable turn
turn time.
All right, so this one's going to have two of the
I think you did it.
Two foothills and two ridges, which this at this point in the game
probably Well, I guess I just did it,
but it's five points at the end. All right, how about you?
All right, so for me, uh we have New Leaf.
Uh I am on a caravan, which pref before that was on the green foothills. So we're just going to move over. It's going to cost me just the base two.
It's another one of those way stones because I think how many way stones do you have total in play? I have uh one oh that I reached already or just total
total just go ahead
one two three four five
and you've reached four
so I have uh one two three four five six
cuz you have one of those that's
Yeah you're taking that away
I have to So this what this gets me is two more of those critter symbols or um companions so I can critter uh I get one of my flame tokens back and I get to Draw a journey journal card.
Oh, you get a journal.
There you go. All right, let's see what I got. So, oh, this is perfect. Okay, so this is have those events. I have five of them. One, two, three, four, five.
Wow. Oh, it's six points. Amazing.
Need that.
All right, let's go ahead and draft our third card for the round. We are almost at the end of the game here.
Close.
All right. Ready?
Yes.
One, two, three.
This one.
Oh, pass.
There you go.
We always forget what we're doing.
All right. Reveal.
Flip.
Flip. Okay. So, I played the Mircat Canyon.
So, this is a ridge card that'll score me a point per ridge. But for now, I'm just going to continue my travels to this card because I think I did this whole thing with trying to get like max lit campfires. Right. Y
So, I am going to travel, but it'll be to the true companion. Please save my life.
So, one campfire. It's the same terrain. Now, I get two uh cheers. So, one, two, and I get two points per lit campfire token. So, there's four of them for eight. So, I go up to 45.
Oh my gosh, Monique.
And do I Oh, do I want to keep going? I can. I technically can. Yes, let's do it. How many of these blue symbols do you have? The blue patch.
Technically, two. I have one here. And then I can say my wild is one.
Oh, but I have a wild also. One, two, three. Okay, so we're still good. That's what this King North, the legend, the legend, the man himself.
There you go.
All right. So, I'm going to move on to this card here for a total of four.
Everything.
I'm now on my ridge. That way, if I need to rest, I can do it next turn.
Yeah.
So, this gets me four of these. One, two, three, four. Well, short.
One short.
All right.
You are so good right there. This wheel thing. Okay. Uh, so for me, this is a four. I'm on the same type, but I only have two. So, I'll be resting here.
So, let's flip these up. Oh, you get a journal.
Hopefully, I can get something I really like
because you have none that are active right now, right?
I have nothing active.
See, what are you going to write in the pages of your journal? What do you think?
I don't know. Hopefully, something very easy.
What do you desire? I think that's a thematically.
Something very doable. How about that?
Okay.
Oh, no.
The most adventurous. Are we?
This is not Well, this is this is three. I get three points right here. It's going to score right away. I have a one of these uh songs.
I have one song. So, there you go.
You got that. You got one.
You know, I was hoping to pull a six-pointer, but you know, that's okay. At least you got something that you were able to score.
Yes.
So, now we're going to move on to the penultimate turn. Let's go ahead and draft our fourth card. Ready?
I am ready. I'm have to use my knowledge of what I passed you.
Oh, wow. I'm definitely not thinking that far. Here you go.
Because of the terrain.
I guess it's just one last.
Yeah. Ready?
Okay. So, I had to switch terrain. I was forced to. Uh, it's not ideal, but I played the Spire Crest Mountains.
Cool.
Uh, but I don't have any um I don't have any campfires. I have to rest.
I'm resting for my pen pen ultimate turn. It's better than resting on your last turn. You know what I mean? We have the journal bag.
Worried about doing that on my last turn.
You think you're going to rest?
I don't know. I'm trying to do the math in my head like the
But the power is in your hands.
Well, the power
You don't have to do that.
The next thing is four.
We planned that now.
I know. No, I know. I'm I'm thinking. I'm hoping not.
All right. This is my journal. Two of each. So when there's several of them, it's two of each.
Okay.
So two I think I have two of each. Yeah, I have one, two, one, two. Yeah, this far in the game, definitely. So I score that. Yeah, seven points. Nice.
All right, Naveen, what would you like to do?
Well, I'm going to do this. So I'm moving on to the same one. This is going to score me pretty well here. So it's the same one. It's going to cost me four, though. What is it? This is a royal king's guard. You see it?
Oh, hello. standing guard.
Okay.
Okay. One, two, three, four. Really extinguished there, unfortunately. But I get two points for every companion. So I have one, two, three, uh, four, five, six. Wild makes it seven times two for 14.
Whoa.
Yeah. So that that was good. So I go to 30 though. I mean, I'm still behind you.
Yeah. You go to 30. Yeah.
Right there.
Wow. Anything else?
Uh, no. I can't move on to here cuz this this would cost me three to move. I only have one flame. So, you're looking for something that costs you one campfire token if
you don't want to have to rest. I guess it's not all bad because you can hopefully get a journal token in the last round, right? It's always like
six or seven points. It's not bad.
Mhm.
So, it's just kind of the luck of the draw.
Yeah.
So, let's go ahead and draw our final one.
Final. This is the final draft.
Make it count. Complete your journey strong.
Make yourself a legend. This is bad.
No.
All right. Ready?
I'm ready.
Okay. Final card. Here we go.
Okay,
so these go out.
These are out. Yep.
These are discarded. Let's reveal. One, two, three.
Caravan.
All right, so I'm going with the a sailboat ride.
Oh, that is adventure.
Okay, but before I travel, I am going to reorder these cards. I'm going to move these down.
What do you got going on over here?
Move that there because I think with the amount of campfire tokens I have, I can do both of these.
Really?
I won't be able to visit these Spirrest Mountains. That was a very lofty plan.
Yeah. I was never going to make it there. But let's go ahead and do the sailboat ride first. So that's two.
Okay.
Two campfire.
Yeah. Same terrain.
Man, you're moving on this thing.
Three. Cheers. So one song.
What do you got?
Uh like you. It's three points, but it's also a companion patch. It's actually good for you, but yeah, I got it.
Uh two, three.
Okay.
And then I get one point for every way stone
that I've crossed. So I have one. What is it? two.
Okay.
Three, four, five.
Five.
Yeah, I don't think they No, these are all patches. So, five, five points.
Okay.
So, I go to 50.
There are some uh 50 and 100 point tokens offcreen. So, if we need to take these, we can.
Okay.
Then I'm going to spend my last token to visit the Mircat Canyon. And I wanted it to be in this order because there's one point per ridge. Yeah.
And this is a ridge. So, one, two, three, uh, four, five, six. Wow. Seven.
Wow. We really picked those ones up at the end there.
Seven. So 50
57
seven. So now I do get a 50
50 token
token. That's it. I cannot I cannot cross into the spire crest.
That's pretty good though.
That is the end of my journey. That is my story.
So I am going to have to do caravan. So I will go like this. I'm going to switch it because the caravan actually gets me to reignite some of my campfires. Yeah.
So we're going to move here for free because it represents that.
Yeah.
Uh then I'm going to go one, two, up one. Cheers.
Then now I'm switching from the U green uh terrain type
the foothills.
Yep. The foothills into the peaks. And so now it's going to be two plus one. So makes it three. One, two. Oops, I accidentally flipped that over. Three.
That's going to go here. That's going to get me a flip over. That's okay.
Uh and then a journal. So come on.
Oh, here.
You got it. Come on. I I there's no more game left. So like it has to be true now.
Well, it's literally in your hand. There's a lot in my hand right now.
You've done a lot already.
I have.
So, Jets says are highish unless it's like five.
B four points. Come on. Four points.
Five mountains. Five mountains. Okay. Wait. Peaks. One, two, three, four,
five.
Oh, you just
just on my last card
for six points.
For six points. Hey, I'll take that. That Okay, that was good. That was
not bad. That's not bad.
That is it.
That is almost the end of the game. We do have one final inscoring phase, so let's go ahead and do that now. Okay.
Now, again, it's going to be all three of these. So, starting with this one, did you end up getting the yellow?
I got the the one plus the wild here. So, I got two of them.
Two. Oh, you draw a song. One, two. Come on. Be a big big hitter.
Big hitter.
Three points. And it's another one of those reds. Oh, that's good.
Event patch. Okay. So, I have one, two, three, uh, three, four, five.
So, one, two, three, four, five. Okay. Two tiers for each, uh, peak. How many do you have?
Yeah, I got five, right? We just We just went over it.
Oh, yeah. So, 10. So, you basically just take another
make a big circle. Yeah, you take another song.
Come on. Just five points. I'll take This is the Ever Tree.
Ever.
Everybody knows the song of the Ever.
Everyone knows it.
Let's put these up here. Make it a little nicer.
Okay. What is the red one?
Oh, the red one. This was the the ball.
The ball.
The ball.
The ball. Everybody knows. This would be Dexter's song if Dexter were to write one.
Okay. So, I'm going to count mine. Yep.
Peak. So I have one, two, three. Uh
you went ridge heavy afterwards.
Four.
Uh but that fourth never reach.
I didn't reach it. Uh six. One, two, three, four, five, six. Okay.
Let's see what my song is about. This is a wayfairer's fire. So it's one of those companion
three points.
Yeah, three points. All right. And finally, the newest uh window here is three cheer points per caravan. I think I have a lot of caravans. So, it's one,
two, three, four, four.
Four.
Four times straight for 12.
For 12. So, it's a spin
and two
and take a song.
Oh, Mon'nique, are you going to beat me on this? Also, I get this right.
Yes. What is it?
Uh oh. Sorry.
I like the names of the songs.
Yeah. It's a whiffweed.
Whiffwed.
Whiffwed.
Yeah. Everybody knows that one.
Everybody knows whiffweed.
Yeah.
All right. So, I have
It's a coming of age song. One. Um, this one.
Oh my gosh. Are you going to beat me on this thing by then?
Yeah. By one. By one. Stinky character. Five points. So funny.
Oh, you got theif You got 15 points in this thing.
One, two, three.
I didn't get another song, but I did just just sneak the five points on this.
I hate that. I hate that for me.
I go up to 12. I I also hate that for you. I'm so sorry. You do get to
You get to light a fire. Why not? in your name.
There you go.
All right. So, now we have officially reached the end of the game. So, we're going to go into endame scoring. It is fairly simple. It's just three different things. And we are also going to find out if we score our legends.
Yes.
Let's see who made it through in those competitions. But first things first, let's score our songs. So, we each have four of them.
Yep.
So, just add up the point values that are on the right. I have three, six, seven, eight, nine, 10.
Uh, so I have 3, six, seven plus another five for 12.
For 12. Okay. So you go to 42.
So you're there. All right. Next we have our journals. So all the completed journals.
Okay.
Uh so I have three + 6 is 9 + 5 is 14. 19. 20 22. Uh 27 34. So a total of 34 points in journals. So I'm here at 22. What is that? 56.
Uh yeah.
Okay. So I go to 56. So, I'm going to put this to the 100. Yeah,
definitely your higher scoring game. Okay, so uh we got three, six, four. That makes a 10.
Mhm.
Plus 5 is 15. Uh two sixes. So that's 15 + 12
+ 12 is 27.
Uh 20 30. Big blow
30.
All right. So what do we got? 42 + 30 that makes me 72.
Yeah.
So we got
So 22.
Yes. And you get your own.
I got a little 50 marker each.
There you go. Uh
oh.
All right. It's legends time. So, how many legend cards do you have? I have I have three. One, two, and three. You only have one.
I only have one. Yeah.
Okay. Do you want to do yours first?
Uh, sure. So, it's having greater than or equal to the most events. So, which is the red symbol. I have 1 2 3 4 five.
Oh, you got it.
I have five plus technically my six and then make that wild seven.
Wow. Yeah, you definitely got I have one, two, three, four.
Okay.
So, you get 10 points for that.
Y.
So, you go to 32, which is 82 really. And there you are.
There. 32. So, I have three of them. This one was for having at least the same amount of caravans as you. We know it's not true.
I had to stop that. Yeah.
So, you had more than me. How many waiststones do you have?
Waiststones. I have quite a few. It's one, two, uh, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
Oh, you you reached the end of your plan.
I I did reach the end.
One, two, three, four, five. So, I don't scare that score that either. But this one, do you have the blue patches of dwellings?
I have one, two, plus the wild makes it three. I have one two plus the wild.
So equal two is fine for that.
I mean I wasn't going to win on you not scoring or not. You already
it was already it was already but that's it.
These are the final scores. It looks like Naveen with 82
to me with 116.
You got ahead. Stayed ahead.
Yeah.
Yeah. It was hard. It was
I think just like finding the first maybe first half of the game.
You had the three yellows early on.
Yeah. uh in the first round when we uh when during the draft uh there wasn't too many yellow,
but that's just what what's going to happen in the game. So, you were able to take advantage of it.
Yes. So, with the yellows because it was the first scoring window, it scores three times throughout the game.
So, it's kind of interesting because in the beginning it's not worth as much. These are only cheer points. It's not necessarily like point points. Like you can definitely score more uh doing other things like getting journals or like specializing in something and then getting a card that like scores that one thing really big.
Technically, mathematically, the second one is the one that's going to score the most. You're going to get the most bang for your buck on the second one.
Yeah. Yes.
Because the caravan, which was our third one, gets you three cheers.
The yellow gets you one cheers, but the one cheers spread out over one cheer.
Threex in total.
Or you caravan at the end. But the mountains can go two to
Yeah.
So that's four total.
Yeah, that's four total. So
technically the mountains was the most. That's I was trying to focus on the mountains, but he still edged me out there. But even a plus minus a five, you're still you're still way ahead.
Yeah. And again, it's just for cheers. So those song cards are really going to score you like they really are on average are like three points on a higher five, you know, one to five really. The thing that's nice about them is that they give you patches. But the thing that was kind of a kicker though was that I edged you out on the five points scoring every single time. So that was 15 points.
Yeah. But that's what I was saying. Even if even if I got the extra five, like I'm up to,
you know, 87, you're going down by five, you're still way over 100.
So even on that last one, it didn't really matter. Um, you had good like
synergy synergy with a lot went Yeah. into drafting those cards. Now again, of course, we were playing the closed draft and in a two-player game, a lot more is sort of up to the luck of the draw. You know, there are other things that are up to that as well, the journals and the songs, but but really with lura player counts, if you want a more strategic game, you could go for the open draft where you actually lay out uh the cards face up.
Yeah. You lay out eight cards. Yeah. And then on your turn, you draft one of the eight cards and fill it in.
And you fill it. So, you're always choosing from the same display basically that all players can see. So you're truly synthesizing like the different synergies in the cards and specifically choosing cards rather than just kind of choosing what is in your hand, right? But again, that version of the game is going to be a little bit lengthier because there is no simultaneous play. You are going to be taking turns.
Well, there you have it. That is Everddale Journeys. Now, this game is coming to Kickstarter soon.
