- This game is primarily a drafting game.
- We are going to be moving our traveler figure across the various cards that are on our plan.
- So, for each of those symbols, you're actually going to move your own player tankered that many spaces around the track here.

Quotes (from this video)
- My biggest issue with it is that I thought it would replace the crew for me. Uh, and it doesn't.
- Everyone has to be willing to submit information to the table. if you just hold your cards to yourself the entire time and just watch. Yes, technically it gives you a leg up over other players to a small degree, but also you're just not fun to play with.
- It's basically like card comboing with like fun worker placement vibes. It's like terrifying Mars adjacent.
- It is literally I timed myself multiple times in this. It is 2 minutes to set up a session of Quinnfire Chronicles.
- So Clover has replaced code names.
- Based on the first game alone, I would say do not buy this. Play terrifying Mars as is based on the first game alone.
- Legacy of Mars is a giant scam.
- Small differences between the base Let's Go to Japan and Let's Go to France. Small differences, but those differences make such a huge difference.
- It is well worth the 20-minute setup.
- It feels like the world is constantly against you as you play.

- Now, this is a drafting game and over the course of the game, you're going to be drafting these different journey cards and they're going to have beautiful illustrations of different other critters, different backgrounds, different types of landscapes and things like that.
- So, you're trying to set yourself up for things now, but things that you might want to do in the future as well.
- Well, there is Everdell Journeys. And as I showed in the overview, you don't need any experience with previous Everdell games to play it or enjoy it.

Quotes (from this video)
- My name is Zee Garcia.
- I'm Mike Delisio.
- And I'm Camilla.
- Numero tres.
- Of the summer spectacular and the summer spectacular is sponsored by CGE folks.
- Go back after I'm done here, okay?
- Plus, we'll be playing that later today.
- So, you can check that out as well.
- Right now, we're going to be jumping into Everdell Journeys.
- This is a a spin-off of Everdell set in the world of Everdell, the Everdell cinematic universe, if you would.
- In it, we are going to be drafting cards.
- We're going to be going on a journey, wouldn't you know?
- Collecting adventures, collecting songs from the uh the tavern there, increasing our cheer and our fame, trying to get the most victory points.
- Um So, we're going to go ahead and show you how this works right now.
- There's two ways to play this game. You can do a closed draft. And you can see that right there where each we would each have a hand of eight cards. We would draft one, pass, and so on.
- You've played games like that.
- But you can also play open draft, which is the way we'll do it uh now just for the sake of camera.
- You you can see what's going on.
- So, we're going to be revealing eight cards from that shuffled deck.
- Mike, if you would not mind right here, please.
- And we are going to be drafting these cards.
- Uh every time somebody takes one, we do replenish it, so they still get to pick from eight.
- The cards are going to be legs of our journey basically or legends.
- These are sort of the things we're traveling through and the cards that look like that have some end game scoring and they are called legends.
- And I will show you what's going on as we do it.
- I will be the start player.
- I have a character in front of me and I have some of these campfire tokens which I'll spend to travel.
- We also need to from these three journal tiles we have.
- Now that we've seen the first eight cards, we need to keep two of these three.
- Let me ask you a question. Sorry.
- Yes.
- Does that just go back in?
- I just put it aside.
- Oh, it's out. It's discarded.
- Does this mean three total or three of each of them?
- That's
- It looks like three of each.
- I assume three of each cuz that's seven points and I have three of one type which is only four points.
- Oh.
- So, I assume it's three of each.
- Interesting. Interesting. Okay. I will keep
- There we go.
- Those and this one goes bye-bye.
- Oh, bye-bye Google.
- All right, and I will go ahead and kick it off here.
- So, and I will explain what's going on as I do it.
- You big jerk, you kept the same one I did.
- Yeah, I'm going to rush you.
- Yes, and I like this because in my own life, I do like to score my own journeys.
- I like to compare them to other people who happen to be going on a journey and ask them, 'Well, did you do this?'
- You didn't. What a loser.
- Five points for me.
- I'm going to go ahead and draft this very first card right here.
- Actually, okay.
- Okay.
- to take that.
- It is a true companion, someone who is going on my journey with me.
- I'm going to put that in my area right here.
- And let's see where it can go so that you can see it.
- There you go. Okay.
- So, it's going to go right there.
- I've drafted that card.
- Now I get to decide whether I'm going to travel or I'm going to rest.
- To travel, I would pay this number in campfires and also if I'm going on to a new land type right above that, that costs me one more, which is true for the first card always.
- Uh if I want to rest, I will instead lay down my figure, and I'm going to recover three of these campfires, and I'll draw a new uh journal tile here, of which again the total I can keep is three.
- So, if I go above that, I have to discard one.
- I'm obviously going to travel.
- I'm good to travel.
- I'm spending two campfires, one for this, one for the land type.
- I go on to that card, I get two tankards, which move me around the cheer track on the board.
- So, the board goes one, two.
- Every time we make it all the way around the board back to 10, you draw one of these songs uh the cards that are called songs, and they give you a symbol to help you feed your scoring engine.
- Plus, they have some victory points uh in and of themselves.
- Oh my goodness. The cards match the board, so you can line up the artwork.
- You know you can.
- I I understand.
- so I got two tankards, and I'm going to get two victory points.
- Hold on. This is important stuff.
- It's not quite lined up.
- Oh my gosh. Okay, hold on.
- Oh uh oh a perfect uh Everdell OCD.
- A oh, cheers. Oh.
- That's That's yeah, that's close enough.
- Um I'm going to get two victory points for every campfire I have.
- That is six.
- So, I'm going to go around again.
- That was an insane turn.
- Who shuffled the deck?
- I'm unrelated, of course.
- Um Mike.
- Uh I don't think it was me.
- No, we do we do we feel so you have a full eight, right?
- We do.
- And that is my turn.
- Oh, that's interesting. That would still cost me one, however.
- One, yes.
- Um
- It still costs one.
- Also, I should mention the uh leg
- going on to a new
- I see.
- Yeah, the land type is always something new.
- Uh at the end of this leg, which is five cards drafted, we are going to be going over here and scoring uh this token
- Mhm.
- based on everything you've traveled through.
- It is possible you'll fall behind your front card.
- You only score up to where you actually are.
- And so every or every one of these symbols you have in your journey gets you one tankard.
- For the second round, we'll move this token along and then we'll score this and this.
- I should also mention this is all prototype, of course.
- This game is not out, but the campaign will be going live in September and it will be playable at Gen Con.
- So, if you go to Gen Con, you can demo it yourself.
- Love it. Um
- Mike, what you got?
- I want to wait till she's got her question.
- What is What What this doesn't have a land type?
- So, what does it cost to go onto that one?
- Oh, that's interesting.
- I guess you don't pay for the land on that one.
- Was that your question, too?
- No, but it is a good question cuz it still has a one there.
- So, you still have to pay a campfire?
- what?
- You're paying an additional one for land type.
- It counts as the same land you are in.
- It looks more like like an opportunity like an adventure.
- What's it called?
- piece of travel.
- Yeah, so it's like it's like an encounter.
- All right, well, that's uh uh
- types. Those are the little waystones.
- Okay, yeah.
- Whereas terrain types are like the big pieces of traveling, I think.
- I see. Okay. Then what I'm going to do is I'm going to draft what just came up, this found gold.
- Guys, you don't even need that land type.
- Oh, but I like it.
- don't need that land type.
- That's a shame.
- with you guys?
- I'm spending a campfire.
- today?
- Okay, here we go.
- coffee?
- Here we go. Oh oh oh, look at that. All right. Oh
- Yeah.
- Okay. Yeah, there's definitely an auto focus lock in there, but I don't know if we can get to it. Anyway, um I am going
- journ
- Just do it.
- my journey. First of all, let me get my three.
- Cheers. Cheers. Cheers. I have spent my one campfire.
- And so that's that.
- If this isn't what I want. Oh.
- It's only one. Okay, but it's still
- There's three different land type of
- this But look at this little face. How do I even leave him out there?
- He's fine. Trust me.
- cutie. Speaking of a cutie, did you see that I am playing a capybara, which I love and adore? He's so curious. Okay, well,
- my capybara has found a a lost traveler here. So, I will tra- travel on to that.
- So, it's going to cost me one for the new land type and then one for this.
- And then I get one cheers here and one point per that symbol, which this has that symbol, so that'll be one point.
- And I am brown for capybara.
- There you go.
- There's a new card. Oh, look at that. It comes back to me. Um, we're going to be scoring off of those, all of which there are none right now. None right now.
- Technically, there's one right there.
- to read who is the artist on this. It's really pretty.
- Oh, this is the same artist as the one who did uh Luke Lucas um I don't remember, but
- Look at I see G I mean I it's a little too far for me to read, but it's really pretty.
- He's the one who did the
- I think the one who did uh Everdell fro- Frosty Mountain.
- Fro- Okay, I got it. Frost Punk
- No.
- Haven of Punk?
- Definitely not.
- You're not getting any closer here.
- Silver Silver Frost? [clears throat]
- No, the the most recent one is Winter Winter Haven Frost of Haven Winter.
- Yeah. Okay. I'm going to go ahead and draft this caravan right here. I'm going to put that into play. I am going to move on to that. I pay just the one cuz it counts as being in this land, and then I get two campfires back.
- Weak.
- And one tankard movement, please, for green.
- Thank you very much.
- Wow, look at all those tankards.
- I shouldn't have asked you what that question did.
- Ooh, that's a
- like your tankard.
- Yeah, and if I have more at the end of the game if I have more journals than you, I'll get 10 fat points.
- both know that's not happening.
- I got to tell you I think it's happening.
- You think so? You think you're going to out journal me?
- I do.
- Dear journal.
- Silver frost, that's exactly what I said.
- All right.
- Let's go and
- Silver funk, I think you said.
- Let's draft of this one. The Ripple Bend Harbor will cost me one because it's the same land type. I will be journeying. Oh, I will be journeying and that's going to give me two points plus one for every tree which I don't think I have that doesn't count these, right?
- No, no, it's the little patch.
- Okay, so
- in a square. I I've noticed that. I'm trying to be helpful.
- I don't believe in those things.
- A square? That's a good choice.
- I don't believe in the square.
- Yeah, geometry is a myth.
- It's a square with like a little patchwork around.
- Yeah, yeah, it's a it's a patch. It's the Everdell patchwork.
- time I help you.
- Okay, so that was it, right? I've done my thing, I got my points.
- You're doing great.
- You don't have to tell me twice.
- really going for that land type. It's going to get you points. You're going to out journal me.
- That called out for being a woof.
- You did kill one, didn't you?
- Yeah, no, I'm [laughter] I'm good. Don't you worry about me.
- feeling a little intimidated by you. You guys are a little happy on the track over here, I think. I don't know if I can out journal Z.
- I'm cheering myself.
- Don't worry about that.
- You love your end game points. So I am a little but I also like collection on this. So I'm going to go here.
- Wow, you're going to have two fires.
- just like anytime I can, right?
- It copies one you've already had. You've already played, right?
- I need to get more fire back, though.
- It is at the top so you copy one, I think, at that point.
- At what point?
- Right when you do
- across the top or when you journey it does something now.
- It does something when you journey onto it.
- Yes, so that would copy one then.
- I think it's time to wrap.
- [clears throat]
- So what would I be copying it for?
- Any further cards then counts that one.
- How do you remember what that is then?
- I don't know.
- Then I will go with this one cuz I understand it.
- And I'm going to use all my fires, and I feel good about this choice. So, here we go. Waka waka waka. And that takes me to five.
- Oh my goodness.
- take you to five. I think it's time to rest.
- All right. All right. I don't love that.
- You guys are the worst.
- Thank you.
- I'm [clears throat] going to take this one.
- Right here.
- What a jerk.
- Holy smokes.
- It is Dune Waste Desert. Dune Waste Desert.
- You're going to the desert?
- to the desert, I think, you guys. So, yeah, I'm going to go ahead and journey onto it.
- It's going to cost me two, plus some changing land types here from the uh the the sort of swampy ones or or what is that? Forest onto the desert.
- That's going to be three campfires for me.
- And I get one point for every Dune type area that Mike has, of which he has none. Yes!
- What a bummer.
- I love to make your life miserable.
- All right. So, there's some end game scoring cards out here, but I think it behooves me to instead
- A behooves you?
- switch. Yeah.
- It's only going to cost me one, because I am changing land types, but it's a zero there. So, we do this. We do this. Now, what's the order of operations here? Because I can now
- do that, but does this happen before?
- It won't matter. You can have three, but you can you can complete it as soon as you are able to.
- Okay. So, that's
- You can take that, flip it face down, put it somewhere.
- That's three points for yours truly.
- Yeah, you'll score it later, actually.
- On those, I believe you score at the end of the game.
- Strongly disagree.
- And then draw a new one, yeah.
- You got something new to work with.
- Ooh.
- Oh, you're all up in my stuff.
- this for both?
- Yeah, if you have it.
- Yeah. Oh, that is so good.
- Combo.
- Refill me.
- Cook cook combo.
- Oh. Oh. Oh.
- good. You could just travel on that free, right?
- And I get two back.
- [gasps]
- Yeah, it's pretty good. That's a good one. That's a caravan. So, I get
- have had to rest normally.
- Yeah. I'm going to go here. I get two back and I say cheers, y'all. That was a good turn.
- I don't love it.
- I don't love it, either.
- That's the opposite
- of what it is.
- You guys can cry about it later together.
- That one and that one's good.
- And now I'm on the mountain.
- Can I touch it?
- You'll be touching it you soon cuz you'll be in last place and you'll get it.
- [laughter]
- I don't think that's how it works.
- No, we just pass it around. That's okay, too.
- You tried. You tried. That was a worthy effort to get
- best to get in your head.
- I like that. It's Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and
- sir.
- Yeah, I am. I'm going to take this. This is Honey Paw is his name. Look at him. He's chilling. He's dancing. He dances with the mice. Look.
- I love that so much.
- See?
- Yeah, it's adorable. All right. So, I will not be traveling onto that because it would take me four campfires to do that of which I obviously don't have. So, instead on my turn I will lay down. I will rest. I reveal or gain my stack of three of these campfires and I get one journal tile from the bag.
- Wow.
- And again, this is all right here when you rest.
- Oh, okay.
- Question. If you When you get your next card, I know we talked about you can go and you would get benefits both as far as you want to go. Can you choose to skip one?
- But I can rearrange any cards I haven't yet gotten to.
- Got it.
- Let me ask you a follow-up question not related to that one at all. When when we end the round, which will be after we've all played five cards, yes, do your campfires refresh automatically, or do you still carry over with your fire?
- refresh automatically. That's a good question, but I don't think so, Mike.
- fairies that come out at night?
- I would like for it to be free refresh.
- We are on the same page.
- my I don't believe so, Mike.
- Mike and I are vibing on this one.
- Wow. No, you guys are both vibing wrong.
- I I don't like it. I don't. I don't. I'm going to take the far city of Mistrise. Oh, yes, I will.
- And I'm going to spend one of my fires to do that, cuz it's the same land type.
- forgot at the beginning of the game with the open draft, there's a slight difference which in which you guys each second and third player, you began with one more tankard, so just give yourselves one.
- Hola. By Z.
- There you go. This is not a thing in the normal draft.
- Cheers to you, sir. Okay, so I get
- cuz you can see them all, and so it's a
- Yeah, I have a slight advantage, I guess.
- And then, I would get three for every wagon, but unfortunately, I do not have
- You sad.
- Look at this.
- Wagonless, y'all.
- You wagonless. You you you wagonless.
- book. I get another fire. I don't need that land type, though.
- I'm really into this drinking game here, I think. [laughter]
- I'm liking it.
- taking all of the end game scoring cards.
- Yeah, that's powerful.
- I'm staying in the same land type, cuz I have very little campfire.
- You do, but you can't you still can't pay for that, so
- you got to Oh, I can't.
- Or you could just rest.
- I was thinking that. I [clears throat] was like, I don't want to rest.
- Oh, that's a shame. You have to rest.
- Sometimes you have to rest.
- Somebody's asking how you got the campfires back. When you rest, you'll lay down your character instead of traveling, which I'm guessing you have to do here.
- You're You're
- Oh, yeah, instead of traveling, I'm going to do that.
- And then, you gain back three.
- And then, you get yourself
- And I get another end game scoring. I get to draw five and choose two, right?
- one.
- Fine.
- That's how you negotiate, folks.
- Copy one.
- Why is that? Why would that not just not just be listed there? Um
- Cuz you have to have one. It's not a free one.
- Sure, let's go with that.
- I
- lost
- She's clearly correct.
- Definitely not right.
- Yeah, probably [laughter] not.
- I have no idea why it would be.
- I love it. Yeah. No, that's got to be it.
- I'm going to
- I'm going to take this card here, uh the Burrow Dale.
- I thought for sure Z was going with the Quiet Hermit.
- It's going to go there.
- And I am going to So, here's one thing you can do is when since you have not I have not traveled to these cards yet, I'm allowed to rearrange them. And I will do that. I'm going to actually do this.
- And then I'm going to travel onto this one, which is going to cost me two.
- And I cannot right now travel onto the other one because I don't have the campfires, but if I could, I would.
- get it right here after you travel.
- Yeah, and it would cost me four then.
- Oh, cuz it's a new land type. Now, do you get one of these since you have three?
- I hit the roll on away. Pick one of the top.
- Toss it in the trash.
- The ever trash.
- Mhm. Corn.
- There you go. It is
- if I'll be taking that one.
- one I just pulled is really, really hard for me. I will not do that.
- You're going to the Corn's path?
- Oh, I'm going on Corn's path, but I don't have path. Yes. I don't have the fires to pay for it. So, instead, I will lay down
- three of my fires, and I will take a journal.
- That will be one for the ages.
- Do it.
- This journal will be one for the ages. Wow.
- It's got a lot of points, but it's probably very hard to pull off.
- Those are very How many different What were these called? Um events kind of things? What are the wayside? How many are there? Five?
- And you have three of them.
- I have the other one, yeah. Is there There's five of these total, and you have to have three of the five of those.
- Symbols and they'll be on the cards, I assume.
- Right, like um
- Like there's one right there.
- You actually have No, you don't.
- No, I got nothing.
- He has one, but it doesn't match, yeah.
- Okie dokie. Uh well, I'm going
- to not change land types, which means I'm taking fella here.
- Fella? Is that all it says on
- We're going to be drafting cards. We're going to be going on a journey, wouldn't you know?
- This is all prototype, of course. This game is not out, but the campaign will be going live in September and it will be playable at Gen Con.
