0:04 Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the discriminating gamer. You know, I was once addicted to the hokeyp pokei, but I turned myself around. Today, we're taking a look at Eve War for New Eden. Now, this is from Titan Forge games, and this is based on Eve online uh computer game that's out there. I've never played it. I've heard of it, don't know a ton about it, but this game here is basically you are um taking control of an of an interstellar organization and you're basically competing for dominance in the galaxy or your location. Okay, I'm sure you guys already know way more than I do about this particular game. And this is a huge box. Look at the size of this thing. It's a big giant cube. So, I tell you what, let's go down to the table. Let's open this one up. Let's see what's on the inside.

0:55 All right, folks. Here we go. This is Eve War for New Eden. Now, this is a highstakes strategy game of Galactic Conquest. Now, this is done by CCP. That must I'm guessing that's the computer game version of it or Titan Forge. Okay, is who is doing this particular game? And I'll tell you what, man. The artwork on this box all the way around is just really cool looking. I've actually been enjoying just kind of looking at all this art. Okay, now Eve Online, I've never played, but I've always heard was just absolutely gorgeous as far as the art inside that particular game. But when you look at the back right here, oh my gosh, what do we got? Ages 14 and up, you're looking at 90 to 150 minutes at two to four people are going to be able to play this game. Now, this box includes codes for also a starter pack of eight exclusive Eve Online ship skins. So, there you go, a little more, but it just looks like it's just this big galactic domination game. Everyone's going to have their own ships. are going to have their own uh systems uh interstellar empires that they have and they control. There is a ton of miniatures and everything inside this game and I cannot wait to see what it all looks like. So, I'll tell you what, enough of me blabbering about it. Let's just get this thing opened up and let's just see what is on the inside. The other thing I was looking at and I didn't see it is I didn't see who actually designed the game. Um if I saw it on there, I'm a I apologize. Um or if I skipped over it. Sometimes it's easy for me to miss some of that stuff. But let's get this thing cut open. And I know the plastic that they use to actually put this one together is a real heavy duty plastic as well, which is good because this is a heavy box. You

2:29 want to make sure everything's secured in this one. And they definitely took care of that. So, and it looks like it's one of those split boxes, too. So, they're going to have the seam right down the middle of it. Only the top half is going to open up, and it's going to have nice deep well. All righty. So, let's see if we can get this thing open. Little air in there. And there. Oh, there we go. Yeah. Nothing like opening those brand new games, right? Absolutely love it. Okay, now there is a lot going on inside this thing from what I can tell. And this is actually a really big thick book. But this is cool. So, this is going to tell you how everything is going to store all the way from the extra tray up at the very very top all the way to your ship trays and everything down on the bottom. Okay. Very nice. And then how to use the trays, what's going to go in it. Why do more companies not do this? How many times you get these games, you got all these trays, but you don't know what goes where. Okay. All right. Well, kudos to you guys for doing it right. Thank you very much. Now, looks like we're going to have about a 34 page rule book.

So, if you had two and three player games, going to have some modifications to your rules. Look like we got our little empires right there. Here's your game overview. All your components, all the massive amounts of ships. Looks like everybody's going to have their own unique designs for all the ships, which is cool. Okay, got to create your boards. Looks like a bunch of different tiers based on I'm going to guess based on player count. A lot of that's going to change. Of course, faction panel. I think there's a lot going on in this game. All right, let's keep going. Building build. Oh, here we go. You got your new game around. And I like I like it when they do this. Okay, they got this uh little tree that's kind of tell you where you're going and what you're going to be able to do on a particular round.

4:19 Okay, we got our different actions, got our movement. I mean, it's two pages on movement. Oh my gosh. Uh revealing systems. Got to love Forex games, right? You got a trade action, miniatures action. Oh, some research, building structures, upkeep, and uh battling. I'm expecting a few pages on battling. Okay, this one looks like Oh, into combat. Yeah, we're we're a few pages into battling. All right, now your two and three player games, you definitely have different maps. So, yours is going to be your map setup for those. We got your victory right here. Looks like whoever earns the 10th victory point first, that's going to be your winner. And then what do we have? We have Titan expansion. Got a Havoc expansion. Um, oh, just some other different stuff. Very nice. Okay. And there's your rule book. Cool. Looks good. Looks like it shouldn't be too bad to follow. Now, let's take the lid off of this tray right here. And this is actually really heavy stuff, too. This isn't some of the the cheaper plastics that I've seen on some of these. Now, this is going to be, I believe, what that one paper said was going to be our extra tray. Okay. So, here's our extra tray. And all it's doing right now is just holding all of this stuff in it.

5:31 Okay, I'm going to kind of slide this off to the side so we can get just a little bit better look. And we'll end up putting all the stuff back in this tray when we're done. Now, there is one token pack in here. There we go. It didn't want to come out. So, we'll go ahead and get that one out. We'll start there. Got your big first player token right there. Okay. There's your front and back of all of your tokens. All right. Let's see. It looks like we have 11 different 11 different sheets. of tokens that we're going to have for this game. So, there is a lot of tokens. All right. And because there's so many, we're just going to kind of flip through them relatively quick. Got a combat token. So, I'm guessing you're going to couple of those because there's one there. So, I'm assuming wherever combat's going to take place, you just kind of put those tokens down to say, "Hey, there's going to be combat in this location." All right. And then we're of course going to have just a bunch of hex's for our different planets. Okay.

6:25 As you can see, your different levels where they're going to go. All right. So, these ones here, we got a lot of level two planets. Okay. Some level threes. Oh, here we got looks like some level ones and some level twos. All right. And I'm assuming there's going to be slots for all of these planets and everything once we get inside and deeper down inside this box. All right. More level ones. There you go. And I'll tell you there there's a lot of little tokens in this game, too. All right. Now, got a another little level one here, but we're going to start getting into some other different size or style of tokens. Oh, that's [clears throat] kind of cool. Excuse me. Kind of give you a closeup of that one right there. Got your build, manufacture, trade. Looks like this is going to be like our little player board. Or maybe you're going to put this by the edge of wherever your home planet's going to be.

7:14 There's a little closeup of those kind of but it's going to give you the little icons that you're going to want to kind of help you out. Okay. So, it looks like we're basically just going to have some more of these home planets right here for all the different factions. And that's what it looks like the main difference is going to be between these is yeah, your different factions planet because this looks like it's one big giant tile right here. And of course, these are okay. In your combat, they're going to clip onto the ends. All right. Okay. We'll take a look at that one. And basically the same thing. All right. Well, there you go. So, that is going to be our extra tray. And this thing here is pretty much going to be empty as soon as everything once you get all these punched, this thing should be, I believe, empty. Okay. So, we're going to come over here.

8:06 What are we going to have? We're just going to start having trays. And you guys can go back and like I said, this is all really thick stuff. So, we got our exclusive ship skins. All right. So, all right. So, there's that. Someone probably just already stole that and nobody's going to have it now. All right. Discovery tokens are going to go there. All right, don't be that person to steal things like online stuff like that because I do know people that play this game and they would actually utilize this. Okay, but all right, I'm just going to kind of put all this stuff back in here. Now, we're also going to have this tray, which is going to see where it goes. And it is going to have in it a little suction cup. Not really sure what the suction cup is for it, but we're going to be able to put our little tokens in here. Looks like we're going to put some cars right there. Suction cup I dropped onto the floor. So, let's go ahead and put him in a spot where he's not going to fall. All right. Now, the fun thing is I got to try to remember how all this stuff goes back in here. So, I'm just going to kind of lay it out behind this where it goes. Now, we have this tray.

9:07 Now, there's nothing to hold the card. So, don't tip this when you got cars in here because they're all going to fall out. But, these are nice and rounded. Okay? So, that way when you're trying to get the tokens out, you can easily slide them out. Now, let's grab this one. Okay, take that lid off. And what do we have? Looks like we're going to have some player boards. All right. I don't know if each if the player factions are any different or anything like that or if they're all identical. Okay, that I do not know. But they're definitely uh dual layered for tokens. And everything I'm seeing on them, these things are looking actually identical to each other. But as you can see, there's all your player boards. Okay. I gave you the close-up of the ones you you saw the rest. Okay. Now, we're going to have these boards as well. And these are all the same. Looks like you got your medium large hole, your warp drive. Okay. Back sides of these just going to be your development panel is basically telling you what this thing is. Okay. We'll put it back in here. I'm guessing these are going to be the trays for all of your player tokens.

10:13 All right. So, we're going to have all four colors [snorts] in there. Oops. We're going to have all of our acrylic cubes. All right. We don't need to open up a bag of acrylic cubes. We all know what acrylic cubes are, right? Okay. But we also know what dice are. But I still like to look at the dice. Okay. Let's get a couple of these guys out cuz these dice Oh, yeah. They feel really good. They look really good, too. Okay. So, there's two different ones that you're going to have right there. I do like them. I like round corners on dices. These look good. All right. All right, put these all back in here. So, we have a nice place to store everything. And the cool thing is is I kind of like how these just kind of sit on top. They're big enough just to kind of fill all that in. You can take your lid, throw it on top, and you're good to go. And that tray is done. Now, when we come in here, this looks like we're going to get this is where we're going to put all of our tokens uh for our individual factions. I don't know if this is where all the different planets are going to go, but looks like we can put a whole bunch of them right there. Okay, so this I'm guessing this is where all of our planet tokens are going to go in this one and this is going to be our home starting factions.

11:21 All right, now here we are going to have our ships. Let's take a look at these ships. And this is what I'm really curious of to see what these ships look like, okay? Because we have a whole bunch of different types. So let's take a look at them. You know, there's nothing like super super detail on them, but for what you get and their size and they're small, I mean, they're they're actually really small because you're gonna have a lot of them on the board, okay? You got to take that into consideration. They do look good. Okay. I I like them. Oops. Get that back on the screen so you can see it. All right. So, got this little guy here. All right. This is one of those games where basically you're going to take a picture of it because you got to figure how to put all the stuff back in. All right. Very nice. And then here's one of our big monster ships.

12:08 Yeah, I could be staring down the guns of that thing. It's kind of cool. Looks like a wolf head. That's really cool. And then we got this guy right here. Very nice. I do like these. Okay. And get him right there. And that is going to be that faction chip. All right. Or that faction ship. That faction tray. And looks like there's only one way that lead goes on. Put him off to the side. Now, this is a nice lid that's going to go over everything else down in the bottom. And let's see what we have. So, let me look underneath this thing. Oh, yeah. We got a bunch more down there in the bottom. Okay. I was just kind of curious now. We got this piece of foam here, which I'm going to get rid of because it's kind of impeding us from be able to set this back in there. But, we're just going to kind of work our way down. So, we got our blue faction. So, we take a look at a couple of his ships.

13:05 All right. The fun part is I got to figure out how in the world I'm even going to show you all this stuff because I got to remember how all this stuff goes back in the box. But these are just really cool. Looks like a scorpion little stinger right there. Wow. That thing is just fantastic. All right, I'll give you a couple more. Let's look at these. I'm pretty sure that you can go out to the BG page and you're going to see some really close-ups of these ships and I'll bet you anything you're going to just find a whole bunch of them painted as well. Okay, I just wanted to give you an idea of what some of these are going to look like. We'll take this little guy right here. All right, and there you go. Just your small little fighter. That's what I'm kind of guessing he is. All right, now we got more ships down in the bottom, but we'll go through all the cards and everything that we're going to get first, and then we'll go down and we'll look at the rest of those ships. All right. If I can figure out how to get this thing opened up, which I'm not really seeing the little end piece on it. So, let's just kind of do it this way. All right.

14:03 Slide this down now. All right. There. These cards are definitely they're d Some of these are going to be double-sided. And I'm going to do the best I can to show you as much as possible on these. All right. Because it looks like Yeah, it looks like we have three different cards here. Okay. So, we're have th that side looks like pre-combat. There's going to be your combat round. And that is that is some really really small text, folks. That is really small text. All right. But we're going to take a look at this one here. Okay. And there's your front side. Here's your exploration phase. This is definitely going to be a game that's going to take a little bit to learn. All right. And your front side. And there's your going to be your game round. And I need a magnifying glass to read that. I holy crimey. Okay, so here's your Minmar ship. Okay, there your there's your galliant. Okay, this looks like it's going to be your different factions. All right, so it looks like we're going to have our different ships and all the different capabilities of them. Got a little picture of what it's going to look like right there. All right, so we just kind of flip through these. Pause if you want to take a closer look at any of this stuff.

15:13 All right, we'll get in this other faction. I do like the fact that they do have all the different ships on these little cards. You know, I like having cards because sometimes you don't always need the information. So, having cards, you can just have a stack of them and you just pull one or two out that you need at that particular point in time. You can lay them out, but you can lay them out however you want, but you don't have this big sheet of paper that kind of gets in the way. All right. And that's kind of one of the cool things about having having cards. I do like it when they do cards for that kind of stuff. Now, there is Oh my gosh, there is a ton of cards that come in this game. So, let's just start going through them. Okay, I might be going through some of these a little faster than normal because like I said, I mean, we're going to be here all night if we're looking at all these different cards. Okay, so what are we going to have? We got our faction development cards. Okay, so it looks like we're going to have a couple different factions there. I'm just going to grab this one for now. Kind of curious though because it looks like we're still doing faction development on that one. Cool.

16:13 We'll put these ones down in the bottom. Okay. Now, I don't I'm just going to go through these relatively fast. And like I said, this is really small print. I'm kind of really hoping you guys can see. I'll try to hold them up a little bit. The camera doesn't seem to focus 100% super good when I get really close to it, though. Too far away. And man, you won't be able to read this stuff either. All right. If there's duplicates, I'm sorry about that. We'll go through. We're going through them relatively fast enough to where hopefully it won't matter too much. But I don't think I've run into any duplicates. I think every card I found is its own card. All right. And this should be the last one for this faction. All right. Get him down in there. And it does look like if you want to sleeve these cards, you're going to have plenty of room. All right. So, we'll take a look at this blue faction right here.

17:05 All right. Take a look at the different cards we're gonna have for him right now. There's a lot going on. Looks like these ones here are all going to be for combat. All right, and that's going to be all we have for that. I'm assuming we're going to find more of those uh that blue faction card in this pack right here. Hopefully on this top, maybe. I don't know. Otherwise, these cards are going to be just all scattered all over the place. But let's see. So, we're going to have the red ones and then we're going to have Oh, more of that other one. So, I don't know where the blue ones are. So, actually, let's let's do this. What do we just out of curiosity, what do we have here? Oh, so like there's your blue faction cards. And then we're going to start getting into some other stuff right there. So, if we take these.

Okay, these are the ones for that faction that we haven't looked at. Let's see if we can keep these together. Man, sometimes sometimes I'll be doing these games. I'll be unboxing these and everything just gets scattered all over the place. All right, so now let's take a look at this red one and we'll just stack these ones right on top. Okay, so we got our spaceships. Let's get him up here so you can read those, too. Yeah, so it looks like we're definitely on some of these we're definitely going to have some duplicates there. Okay, try to keep that glare out for you folks. I'm sorry. All right, I got my camera up so high that I'm trying to keep the cards up high to the camera. I was like, "Ah, this is not doing good for me."

I already showed you these. So, we're going to put those back down the bottom, but that's where we have more of them right there. Okay, so we're going to try something. We're going to see if we can make this a little easier. Maybe this works a little better. I don't know. So, let's grab these cards. Get them out of here. And we know we have four factions and we've already looked at two. This blue one's going to be our third. This will be our third faction. So hopefully we have no more of those yellow ones. But if we let's see we zoom in a little bit. Oh, there we go. That's actually going to help me out a lot. That might help you out too. Okay. Yeah, I think that's going to be better.

19:45 Okay. So, take a look at all these. This is going to help you see inside this box just a little bit more, too. All right. We got structures. Yeah, this is definitely I mean this is as far as I can tell. I mean I didn't look a ton up on this game at all. I basically just looked at whatever I saw in the back of this box and this just looks like a Forex game at heart other than I think I think all of the maps are already set up. So you pretty much already see everything. All right, so let's look at this last faction right here. And I'm pretty sure we're going to have some more cards. I'm guessing they're going to be in that other deck. We'll try to find those first and we'll go through those and put them on top of this one. So, at least we keep all the faction stuff together.

20:34 But I will say I mean those faction boards are the they're all the same, but as far as I can tell, a lot of these cards are not. So, my guess is each one of these factions is going to play a little bit different. I don't know. I you guys might be able to tell me in the comments if you can see if all of these faction cards are the same or not. Let me know if the factions I mean if there's some uh asymmetry in these different factions we're all playing a little bit different. I do want to know that. I am really curious in that. It does look like it for me, but then again when I'm going through all these cards, it's really hard for me to tell. Okay, so this should be the last of these cards for this faction. Okay. Yeah, here's all our spaceship cards. We'll take a look at those. At least they keep them relatively grouped together. I understand splitting them up over different packs because it's just easier for the machines to have only x number of cards in each particular pack when they when they're manufacturing them. Okay, so that's going to be that. Now, what are we going to have? We're going to have some strategy cards. Okay, it looks like every faction is going to have their own set of strategy cards as well. Oh my gosh. All right, so let's just kind of fly through these.

I could be wrong, but I'm just looking at the pictures and I think they are. I think they're all the same. Okay. So, we have this deck of cards here or section of cards, which is also going to be the follow on to those. So, it looks like the backs of those are minerals. So, all of these may be the same or we might be splitting them up into different ones.

So, let's kind of just throw these down here. Oh, yeah. So, it looks like here too, we had like one mineral card right there as well. And then we had our strategy. So, put those back in there. Yeah. So, it looks like you're just when you're getting your min minerals rather than having tokens or something like that, you're grabbing a card. And that card is going to give you your minerals that you're that you're going to get. Okay.

23:19 And this whole thing is going to be minerals as well. Well, that makes it a lot easier and faster to go through everything. So, we got more pyite. And then we're going to have all this morphite. Okay. Those are going to be easy to separate. I don't really care about those. So, we're just going to stack those right here. Now, we have three more decks of cards to go through. And looks like two of them are basically minerals. And one of them is going to be these events. Okay. So, let's see what our minerals are going to look like first. See if we have any new minerals that we haven't discovered yet. All right, we know what these are going to look like, right? Okay, now we're going to get this Maxilla Mexilian, something like that. I mean, the cards look really, really cool. Ah, more titanium. Okay, very nice. So, let's just shove those right there.

24:06 All right, we're going to have this one. You know, it makes it a lot easier to go through all the cards when all the cards are mostly the same. All right. See if we have any anything new. Well, looks Hold on. Looks like we're going to run out of minerals. Oh, we are. Okay. So, the last of the mineral cards right there is going to be more that messilian. Okay. So, let's just put that right there. Now, we're just going to have nothing but events. And I don't know if we're Yeah, we're going to get duplicates on the events. So, I'm going to I'll try to go through those. Okay. Lost Research Lab. Got Talented Pilot. Okay. So, I definitely try to fly through those as much as I can. Looks like there's going to be about four of every one of these. Opportunist. And the cool thing is they're colorcoded, so it makes it a little easier for me to find.

Now we have this last one which I believe is all events as well or at least part of it's events because it looks like there's different card right there. So it may be some more some events some other things. So we'll find out. But I will tell you what man the production of this game oh man the production of some of these games this year has just been outstanding. Okay so we got missions and we're going to have these events. So let's look at the events first so we can at least keep them stacked together. Okay so we got our false orders.

25:59 There's our mining crew. strategic planning and then oh see there's that gate camp again okay which we had already seen that was the first the other one all right so now we're going to have our missions now missions I can imagine each one of these is going to be a little bit different okay um controlling at least three systems with at least two structures and each going to get two victory point reward and what are we going for like 10 victory points yeah old grudge so we are going to get some duplicates on these all right So, I'll just kind of flip through these. Give it a second. If I see it's a duplicate, I'll I'll kind of try to go through real fast. The Moon Harvester. Yeah, as you can see, each one of these. So, basically, in this game, yeah, you're definitely picking up missions. You're trying to complete these missions. I don't know if missions are the only way you get victory points. Um, or not. Um, but missions is definitely one of the ways you're going to be able to need to get your victory points. So, and there's plenty of missions to go through in this game. All right. All right. And we got two more. That one.

Okay. Now, let's go ahead and get this out of here because once this comes out, now we're going to get to our very last tray. Okay. And this is going to be the last two factions ships. It almost been cool if that each faction had their own tray so that way you can just hand them a tray. But they didn't do it that way and they probably did it because the box is already super giant. But I'm just going to leave it zoomed in. You're not going to be able to see me take them in and out. I'll remember to zoom it back out here in a little bit. Okay. Try to slide it over so you can see where I'm pulling from. But yeah, right now I'm trying to grab this upper corner one. It looks like zoomed in you guys can see just a little bit better. Okay. All right, take a look at that guy. Yeah, like I said, I mean, the detail on these isn't I mean, it's not the most detailed, but I'll tell you what, I think these are just really cool looking. Little teeny tiny X-wing guy right there. I like it. Yeah, I I think the detail on these plenty good for what this what this game is and needs. Yeah, they can actually have the same models for everyone, just different color. And I'd have been happy with the quality of these, but Oh, they're fantastic. All right. Well, there you go. That's pretty much everything you're going to get in this box. So, to put all this together, as you can see, nothing in the bottom.

Okay, now this is where hopefully I remembered how to do all this correct. Looks like this tray is going to go on top of that. This tray is going to go on top of that one. It's why I stacked these the way I did so I can remember how it goes back together. We'll put that one in. Okay. Now, we're going to have these three boxes. All right. And these are going to hold I'm guessing some of those cards are going to come out and they're going to go in here. Like I can see all the minerals and stuff maybe going in those right there. Um plus maybe this tray right here. Okay. Plus our other tokens. We're going to take this. This is our extra tray. This is where all the rule books probably everything's going to go once we get all this stuff punched out.

Titan Forge. This game looks production absolutely fantastic. Cannot wait to give this one a try. I heard the online is super super good. So yeah. All right, let's head up top and close this out. 30:40 There is a lot in here. There's a lot of weight to this game, but honestly, it looks really good. Looking at the rule book, looking at the way everything's lined out and whatnot, it looks like it's going to be really fun. My only problem that I'm worried about is the font size is so tiny on this one. I got to be prepared for that going in. Contacts are coming out, glasses coming on probably, and a magnifying glass is coming out because oh my gosh, that text is uber tiny. But the game looks fun.
