at the very moment has been replaced by the box of the game that we will be playing the Lord of the Rings Adventure book game hello everyone wherever you are morning afternoon evening Taren will be joining me very shortly he's just caught up a little bit in Eurovision so he's been watching Eurovision has like the last 20 years 15 years so please let me know in the comments if you also watch Eurovision it's very very tense looking for who's gonna win this year's Eurovision um and saying hello first to Mark Al and alas hi boxing Stella so we are playing yes indeed a lot of rings Adventure book game so this game is by reference burger and this is a Cooperative game and this is like the princess bride's Adventure bouquets which I have live streamed previously with Joyce uh maybe last year sometimes and this is basically follows almost the same principle almost the same mechanics and this is It's you know you don't have to be the fan of Lords of the Ring although it helps um Todd May the blessing of Elf dwells humans and all free Fork be with you all thank you so much thank you very much and hopefully that blessing will help us in Journey to Middle Earth so hello Rachel so uh for you who just join us tan will
be joining me soon after Eurovision finished now let's go to the book so this book is looking really fancy so this is the first scenario I'm going to show you quickly that we actually uh I have to remember where everything is I will and this is actually a book an adventure book and each scenario is one page so once you succeed the first chapter you move on to the second chapter there might be slightly different mechanic the it's a storyline obviously for those who are fans of Lord of the Rings you'll be like oh this and all the way to step to six Battle of the Helms there deep obviously and last but not least the final battle so this is obviously based on the movie a lot you see Kate Blanchard's and Elijah Wood there as The Hobbit and The the elf now who has watched lots of the Rings and The Hobbit and rings of power I am watching rings of power at the moment and it is a very very I really really enjoy it uh it's a bit slower at the start but then it's getting a little bit more interesting and I do love newer technology I mean I know somebody was
gonna oh Lord of the Rings classic but this is with Newton technology it feels beta somehow uh and we say hello also to David better replacement by a box than one of the plants in the background or not for the meatball anyways he'll be here soon uh hello Dr Nate from twitch uh how many pages are you playing today where is there all great questions so we'll have to see how we go so the first page is kind of like the introductory mechanics this tend to be a little bit easier than the rest so we'll see we might play two pages we might be one page but you know there is no spoiler all the mechanics are con similar the only spoilers are the probably the story was even that it's not really that spoiling ish Richard hello mips uh Rachel said I prefer The Hobbit love the book I guess I did a lot of the Rings gets too complex for me uh I guess that is like game Game of Thrones I watched the first season and then I didn't watch it for the second one and then the second one comes I forget what happened in the first one it's very complex and I forgot everything so uh I decided not to watch the rest of the Game of Thrones and then my plan was to watch from season one until the end and then

do there so we start with brother Samwise Mary and Pippin basically all the hobbits and we've got the scandalf paper token oops sorry it's getting off not the other one and this is the the bad people there that we can try to avoid now may I say thanks to Henry so I don't know if you have seen Henry here in this channel thanks to Henry so we did a paintings video for some of the characters so we've got further obviously that we are using in this game and we have Gimli I'm gonna bring it a little bit closer so you can see so he's further me and Henry did a painting video and it is somewhere in our Channel and then there is Gimli so Gimli The Duel of Allah Gimli Gimli is probably my favorite character uh I love dwarf in general they're grumpy but they're soft the tough they're grumpy but they're really soft in the on the inside I think in the inside um and this is obviously our beloved Orlando Bloom elf Lagos very good so we all make painted three of these and this is obviously has not been printed this is Aragon so Aragon is on the side as part of request at the moment and in today's game we are only using throtto
all right the chat says now uh Dr Knights nowadays it's hard to convince me to watch a show that isn't finished yeah yeah because it's kind of like you never know if they are going to be the next season right and then you'll be like oh what happened at the last of the the last the last episode of the first season and like oh no they're not making it anymore oh no it's like Cowboy Bebop I think it was in Netflix I was like oh we quite enjoyed and then we found out that they're not making it anymore I'm like oh so and then if especially the complex one you kind of like wanna watch the whole things at once or if you really like it and you just watch again so season two comes out and then you watch season one and two like Mandalorian maybe maybe not anyways uh spread me hello chat uh David uh Game of Thrones has nudity sex and violence sort of brutal love fantasy and more of a lot a lot of the Ring fans RC okay that's fair thanks for the um thanks for the warning there all right so what do we do in this one in this game check the rules Shaya beggins so Black Riders here move clockwise on the black smoke path Black Riders cannot share a space um with or move into another black rather space characters move along the white path either directions Hobbits cannot enter them or move through a space with a Black Rider but arrogant can so if a Black Rider hangs on Hobbit and they might The Hobbit must go to the hiding spot now what do we actually do
what do you do on your turn so on your turn there's this handy dandy reference gun you first you move you move zero one or two spaces now you don't own any one character you can move any characters same character up to two moves along the dotted line or another character so one character so two characters one move each so I move first and then you can do storytelling now in any order you can discard any number of cards on top of the move to move extra so you can say this card not a three car uh another three cards to move another three of any characters that is you can complete challenges and I'll talk about challenges later you can then play special cards so a special card for example this one one ring ability so there's a card that is that has the ring move a Black Rider one space so this will help us to kind of like help them not block um our ways basically and try a single card with any other player so and then after that you draw two cards from the story date and then you draw the bad card which is the game fights back this one it will give you a number from 1 to 15 and it will tell you what happens most ly is when the Black Rider moves around
so then one or two space which one it is and they are moving clockwise now the as one here number one two three move any Hobbits to the hiding spot if it's already occupied you lose this chapter so that is really vital we've lost our game because of that so if card number one two or three comes out and somebody one of the one of the four Hobbits is in there then you lose it yeah so it's very important if the start of the round you have a hobbit in there most probably you will need to move it out unless all of the one to three cards already been used by uh from this deck obviously um that is basically the mechanic of the game so a place goes one and then the next player and then the next player again until we win or we lose let's have a look at chat quickly uh shrap me high chat David uh got it David say use different characters in different chapters that is a great question and yes using different characters different chapters so there are other other characters as well that will probably show it later agreed David GRT is very low fantasy okay all right so it's I think it's more backstabbing in politics and that so that's probably why I haven't actually watched Game of Thrones as well anyways what do we do in this game what do we need to accomplish

to the shutter yes so we complete okay we're a third of the way there half a minute and that's the the each scenario is not that long or that difficult it's the fact that you've got to do eight of them within this track correct correct so uh I mean if we don't care about the rest of it we'll be like okay let's just keep going but then it's it's important if you want to finish until the end to not you know use that if you don't need to if possible all right so the reward we each draw one card from the story deck yeah is actually also draw card 2 and the other thing that happens now is Gandalf goes away yeah like in the movie he gives the ring and then goes off to come back white later on you know what's his what's his name anyone this is Gandalf the White the gray No Gray is this side yeah okay this is Governor Graves it's just kind of what that evil noise Gandalf anyways anyways well because right the move has been out for what 20 years and the book's been out for longer okay 80 years hi from hobison wow I really want to go up the room reminds me I really want to go to New Zealand where The Hobbit was filmed there's this thing that you can go and visit there is a savior progress option for this game the question came through so
uh some special cards get added to the story deck as the game goes on and you uh keep you keep those from sorry sorry quick question you just have to remember where you're at all right so you've drawn two cards now it's time to do the um bad things happen part yep so just quickly they would say seems like a bit like so it seems a bit like that or this year a lot of marine scheme corruption track at the bottom yeah I haven't actually played the this year's Lutheran games yeah it's kind of like yeah I'm sure Nissan has got every single games here type of game I don't know he does have rather a large catalog yes so number nine to twelve is move either Black Rider to space so one of these two two spaces so well we don't want to clog that one out so what do we let's let's talk about what's the next one we need to do first so all four Hobbits must be on orange spacing Bridge so all four must be in here in here or here so in this area um is it yeah Aubry and rewards draw a card from the special deck place aragons on the Francine Pony which is this Pub here and then we have to discard these three cards of which we have none at the moment yeah we still have time okay all right well I think uh so we have to move one of the Black Riders to spaces we obviously don't want this one well so that's not true because we need to
get them all over there so if we move this one and then it's oh you're right and then we need to get this out of the way yeah or we get this one out of the way for these two and start to snake them across oh that either way I feel like it's a quicker movement path to move them along we just have to be wary of this guy moving and sometimes explain how we lose because it's very important to remember not due to town yeah that story's been told yeah cool not all of them I only lost Ones yeah all right uh some of those black minis are hard to see yeah it is not being painted yet so we haven't actually painted that one yet the Plaid yeah so it's actually comes with colors so you can actually see but Henry has spray paint black now ready to be dry brushed with white to this stage and to be colored but haven't got the time yet to do that unfortunately so everyone I think the comment from over here that's not that clear where they are okay especially with these uh darker all right let's do this I'm Gonna Roll around okay all right all right time for the second turn so I will take my two free moves just to go and I have to see what it is what I want to be careful like this one at least one of these free

um what's the ideal Play account what is the Play account for this game one to four players so it's one to four players technically you can play solo we like playing through because there are two of us because like we we because we're reading this from this side and then there's only two heads like too much too many heads sometimes like maybe three I feel it's easier to manage the cards if you're playing with two because yeah right now I'm gonna essentially I've got two of the ones that we need so we have to do the next mission on my turn which kind of influences what I choose to do here yeah because I do my two free movements to go there I could play this one to go here and then we're just kind of hoping not to get a 13 or 15.
um and then that would give us both of our turns to to get him there but I think you should move it if I go here it's more of a safe yeah option I think so yeah just means that if this one moves here we're gonna have to retreat and it cost us a turn can you just move to okay um do you want I'll swap this for rings so that you can do a whole lot of movement on your turn so you will probably why do you want to ring I thought you wanted to move to you need to discuss two no I was going to let you do all the movement I actually know you're right we probably want to uh yeah your way makes more sense

you get to the final challenge then the challenge is just basically getting everyone on board so you've got to get Aragon to the Man anger counter uh you've got to get Gimli to dwarf anger you've got to get Legolas to elf anger uh you have to get Aragon to boromia and then once everything else is done they all come together into the One Ring space talking about this corruption or the ring space there are cards in the special reward cast is it's not really um rescinding the corruption track but can play The Challenge using one or more rain cards without advising the corruption track so the cards that I used before also about to do with not advancing so I'm hoping that some of the rewards in the later story book chapter would have Okay um you don't understand you actually retract it ah there you go this continue to go through the story we've got the minds of Moria in here Fellowship splits yep oh yeah last March of the ends is that another subscribers oh sorry yeah Battle of Helms Deep here see some different colors and there's all other tokens that work for these uh scenarios as well and
