I'm here at the Gen Con 2026 press room. Thanks in part to omiro.com who helped send us here. They do some amazing Kickstarter work. Check them out on the link down below. But right now, I'm excited to check out one of my most anticipated games of Gen Con 2026, Sonic Knock. This is a big box flicking game with a whole bunch of cool little plastic pieces where you're going to be flicking Sonic and the big players around. Let's open it up and check this one out. Let's unbox this bad boy. We got some cardboard, some coins. Oh, these are I believe what we're going to assemble. Oh, that's the board. That's a big old board right there. Yeah. Oh, and it's got edges that fold up. Oh, really nice. Yeah, let's put this together and see how this looks. So, when you assemble the board, you keep it together with these plastic pieces that are pretty easy to install and work really stinking well.
So, when you first start the game, you're going to get one of these little pucks you're going to be flicking around. That's your character. And then you're going to get your deck of cards. You're going to shuffle them up and you're going to reveal one and that's going to be a target around the board that you need to hit on your turn. And on your turn, it's really quite simple what you're going to do. Flick your puck. If you hit something, you complete your target, you put it face up to show that you're one step closer to winning the game. You collect rewards cuz there's rewards. So, for instance, you land here, you land here, over here you get a coin and a coin. If you land right on top of it, you get coins and there's different colored coins. Uh this little contraption to hold them isn't the best for larger fingers, but it's it's serviceable enough. You can also get power-ups. Uh you can you can lose coins. You go over like the spikes right here. And the cards are going to have you hit other people or they're going to have you do cool little objectives like this little spinny spin right here.
See how it Well, it works. Oh, I I think it went through. I think it went through. Let's try it again. I I don't I'm going to try it again. There's like no good angle. There we go. Let's see if it's going to go. Come on, get in there, robot. That's I think that's it. I'm really trying to see. Yeah, you got the best angle over here. Yeah, that was So, it goes around. It's not as satisfying as what, but it's still really cool. Uh so, that would mean that I would have completed that card right there.
this year until I
And when you complete a card, you get another flick of your puck. Also, if you don't have any cards in your hand, you draw a new card into your hand. Once you have completed all of your objective cards, you start getting two flicks automatically per turn, and you can reach the end game condition, which is to have two coins exactly of each type, which means you're going to have to like potentially be intentionally running yourself over spikes or something to lose coins and then gain coins at different spots. So it's a weird ending. Another cool aspect of the game to really note are these power-up cards right here, which you'll earn by landing on that spot or that spot right there. Also floating around is Dr. Robotnik, the yellow guy. And if you ever hit Dr. Robotnik, you get to flick him, and then he can try and hit somebody else, and then he takes a coin away from them. You pick which coin.
Coins, and you complete all your cards, and try and flick yourself out using the exit ramp, and then you have won. Sonic Knockout
