Hey everybody, it's your old pal Rob. Now, boy, this is one that really caught me off guard. Um I am a big fan of Plaid Hat Games, and um I was really looking forward to Ashes Ascendancy, which I could not wait to get my hands on. Uh you know, I want to get the red rain and all that other stuff, and I seen it, and it's a beautiful, beautiful game.
Uh I wrote them, and they were very nice, and they sent me a copy of it. And I've got it right here, and I haven't even opened it, and there's a reason for that. Um because also in the box, they sent me a game that um well, um they sent just sent something extra for me to look at. And it's called Super Super Auto Pets Card Battle. And oh my god, we have not stopped playing this. Enough that we haven't even gotten to Ashes Ascendancy yet. This is unbelievable. And and they have a big Kickstarter box. Now I got to try to find a find that box. But I'm going to show you how this is played. Um let's go down to the table, and then we'll come back, and we'll talk more about this.
So, how does this work? I'm going to show you how this works, and why this game so so fun. So, there are six rounds, and each round you're going to be playing for a trophy. You're going to have a shop that you are going to start the game off with, and you're going to turn over four cards. Okay? Now, each person is going to have three gold, and they will be able to buy a card. And when you buy a card, like for instance, I'm going to take this mosquito, and then I would replace this, okay? Then the next person would go, they would take somebody, and then replace that. Now, there's some symbols on here and if you ever get three, at the end you can trade them in for certain things and it and it has a little shop face thing that shows you if you get triple, discard three pets with the same uh hat from hand and draw two cards off the off the top of the next deck. So, you can really end up with some really good powerful cards. Each card has a different ability and you know, we'll we'll we'll talk about that. But, the very first round um is going to go a certain way. And we'll just uh we'll just make a this real quick. And then you would have all your cards out, but the first round you're going to start with three cards, but the maximum that you can have is five cards. So, you're going to keep these cards into the next round and then when you go and play, you're going to uh
have a store and you're going to be able to purchase cards from the next deck to add to your deck, but you can only have five, okay? Five animals in it. What you're going to do is you're going to take your cards and I'm just going to put these like this, okay? And you're going to arrange them in the way that you want to arrange them, okay? Well, [clears throat] let me see. I think I want this guy to go first and then these two guys to go last. And what's going to happen is you're going to turn over your cards, okay? So, one is going to destroy him because this is your health and your attack, this number. And then one is going to destroy him, okay? Well, he's gone, but there's an ability here. When you faint, add an apple to the top of your deck.
So, this apple is going to give you plus one. There's also cards that are going to be able to add bees to it and make a big difference. So, now when I turn this over, they're going to turn their card over and well, when this this cricket faints, add one bee on top of your deck. Okay, so that's going to do one damage here. We're going to turn it over. We have an apple. Okay? The apple goes aside and is going to be attached to the next creature, which is the mosquito. Now, the mosquito has an ability that he can throw a rock before you even fight. And well, he hit that cricket. So, he doesn't take any damage, okay? Because he threw a rock before they could battle.
But, the cricket is gone, but at the bottom, add a bee to your top of the deck. Okay. So, he turns over his card again. Now, it's a bee. He's going to try to hit the bee. Uh he missed this time, okay? So, now they're going to fight. It's going to be one. Well, guess who's going to take the one damage? It's going to be the apple and then the bee's going to be gone. Now, and damage stays. Ant, faint, add an apple. Okay? He does one to him. He does one to him. He would take one. He would faint. You would add an apple, but that's not going to do you any good. You're out of creatures. And guess who won the first trophy? This side. So, they get one trophy.
Now, the person that wins the most trophies wins. And in the sixth round, there are two trophies. Really simple game. Now, you would keep your cards, okay? And you would put your apples back, of course. But now, you start building your deck a different way. We got to put your bee back, okay? And you would take the second deck and deal this out. And as you can see, you have even more powerful different types of things. Like like if he gets hurt, he gets an apple, okay? So if you don't kill him right off, he's going to he's just going to get stronger and stronger as you go. This one uh when he gets um um hit, well, you know, you could buy add two apples to your hand, okay? So, really cool abilities that are going to help you um set your deck up a certain way. And you can only battle with five creatures at a time. And they get crazy, too, because there's going to be there's going to be sharks. And sharks are nasties. And turks the turkeys have four damage. A shark has one, but this pet eats one apple for each friendly fainted pet. So, if you got a bunch of pets and this is your last guy and he they're all knocked out, well, he's going to get a whole bunch of apples, which is going to make him overpowered and tough to beat. So, really unique abilities and a lot of fun, easy-to-learn QC art, which really works. And this was
a real big surprise. So, I didn't explain everything, but I think you get the gist of how the game works. And well, folks, let's go up top and get my final thoughts on this little masterpiece. Super Oops. Super Auto Pets Card Battle. Oh my god, this is so good. This is so good. I want to get the Kickstarter edition of this thing because this thing is glorious. Um my grandkids and I are are are playing this constantly. We haven't had time for anything else. And I think you're going to find that this this little card game is really something special. It's made for two players. It is fun. It is a quick. It is strategic.
