God's Will Social Deduction Game Quick Overview
Transcript
God's Will is a social deduction game where divine destiny meets human deception. The gods of Olympus have turned on each other, torn between pride, jealousy, and ambition, they have fractured into two warring alignments, light and darkness. While a few remain loners, loyal only to themselves. You'll become a god or goddess wielding a unique ability and you'll be secretly assigned a role determining your alignment. Through deduction, strategy, arguments, deception, and influence, you must bend fate to your will, swaying ventures to your favor, and bring about the downfall of the opposing leaders. At the beginning of the game, the roles within darkness will secretly get to know each other, but most of the roles within light won't know anything except the Lord of Light, who will secretly get to see the roles within darkness except its Lord. Through multiple rounds, players will debate and vote on a leader, assemble a team, and that team will secretly play destiny cards which will affect the light or darkness markers moving towards Olympus. Then all players individually get to vote and move a god away from Olympus, which might have them reach a light or darkness marker, possibly ending the game. If the Lord of Darkness reaches or passes the light marker, the alignment of light wins. But if the Lord of Light reaches or passes the darkness marker, the darkness alignment wins. But both alignments need to be careful because some loners may steal the victory. For example, if the Hermit is the first to get expelled by reaching either the light or darkness marker, they win all by themselves. God's Will improves upon the social deduction genre with streamlined team selection, removing
repetitive rejections, providing cleaner, faster rounds that keep everyone engaged. Both sides have the intriguing option of fate whenever participating in ventures. There's increased depth with unpredictable roles like loners that disrupt standard strategies and naturally balance the game. It's deeply thematic with variable powers for each god and ventures stemming from real mythology, giving every game a unique narrative arc. It has has table presence with functional dual-sided standing gods with their light or darkness side working as a reminder of their actions with historic and iconic paintings woven into the experience for a gallery-worthy aesthetic.
