Today we are going to be taking a look at expansion. Now, my grandson would be here with me doing this, but he got himself in trouble, so he can't film today.
But I need to get this done. So, I have to film without him. And I'm going to tell you something. He is so excited, and he got himself in the trouble, and he can't check this out. But we got in Fins Span Sharks and Reefs. And oh my god, when we started going over the original Fins Span, the first thing out of his mouth was, "Hey Pops, wouldn't it be cool if they did sharks?
Jimmy, put out a thing. What would you guys like to see?" He goes, "Pop, write in. Tell them that we want sharks." Well, we wrote about sharks. We got sharks, and we got a lot of them. And the reefs are just cool into their own right. So, we're going to go down, take a look what you get in the box, and then I'll come back out back on the other side, and we'll talk more about this.
So, we're going to take a look and see what you get inside here. All right. Um you are going to get, of course, the Nautilidae which I I I could barely say. But this is the solo rules, uh so you can do it uh with um adding the sharks and reefs to this already just unbelievable game. Beautiful, beautiful art.
Um you're going to get your uh pages here. I mean, your rulebook here, which is going to give you five player aids, you're going to get 75 fish cards, five starter fish cards, your coral reef overlay, which is very very very cool, and your achievement board, and a new score pad. Uh this is really really cool because of what this does.
Um you're going to have all kinds of different coral tokens and things like that. Uh and you're going to be building up your coral reef, which is really cool, which is going to attract different types of uh as you gain coral, you're going to be able to attract different types of fish. Now, the sharks can can really mess you up here because they can come as hunters and kind of scare away some of your fish.
Uh some of your fish and the schools will scatter elsewhere depen- depending on where the sharks are and how they react, which is really really really kind of neat. Um really really interesting. Again, uh as as we say quite a bit here, you're going to get beautiful top quality coral. You've got purple, blue, and green uh to make and then you're going to have uh your coral reef.
Um uh tiles, which are going to go and you're going to be able to build up certain things uh and new score pad, so you can score, as you can see, and then, of course, um some achievements. Fish in the sun in the sun zone, and of course, the coral and and fish between points one and three, which is really cool.
The star, though, is the absolutely beautiful fish that have been added, and there are a bunch of them. And uh poor little guy, he's got to see certain these he loves tiger sharks. Uh reef triggerfish, uh the snail, the saw sawtail fish. I mean, look at that. Look at that, dude. Really? Just really.
And as you can see the symbol for the you know, the sun coral. In order to have a ribboned sweetlip uh in there. And just beautifully beautiful beautiful reef fish, but of course, mako sharks. The only thing and I know the one thing that he's going to complain about is where's the great white shark?
And I'm kind of thinking and going, "Well, the great white really wouldn't fit this." And I'm that means that they're going to probably going to have another expansion, which will probably be really really cool because then you're going to have some really big predator fish and things like that in there.
Spotted scat. I mean, these are just beautifully beautifully done. The puffer fish, frogfish, you know, everything that you would see. A swell shark, seahorses, scorpion fish. I mean, the clownfish, you know, all these beautiful beautifully done cards and you get 75 new fish in here. And um just beautifully done by a company that just never gets it wrong.
They never do because they just do it with quality and precision. And I'm telling you, if you love fish ban I mean, fish fish ban Fin Span, excuse me. You are going to love this. And this is one of those ones where you know, sometimes some of the bird ones you can get away with and you don't need. But this one I really suggest because I really feel this is a must-have because it just really enhances a great game in Fin Span.
So, Sharks and Reefs, the new expansion for Fin Span. Be sure to get it. Let's go up top and get my final thoughts. You know, just when you when you think you got everything figured out, you know, and and and, you know, all wrapped in a pretty bow and you can't do much more with something, you come out with Sharks and Reefs.
And the one of the things that I really like about this is as much as I love the Sharks, it's the Reefs. Uh how you will grow Reefs, how things will scatter when Sharks come, um how different Reefs will attract different types of fish and things like that. And this is just so brilliant adding to what is already a fantastic game.
Okay. Um my grandson, even though he doesn't understand the game as much, um we try to I try to talk him through it. But when he looks when he you know, he looks at Sharks, he loses his mind. Now, hopefully he get himself out of trouble so he can come take a look at all these wonderful, wonderful cards.
And and we can have a good time doing that. And I think there's another video coming where we're actually playing with the game and and you can see his excitement and how much he loves this game. For him, it's very educational and he loves to learn about Sharks and fish and all kinds of animals and and what little kid doesn't, right?
But um another wonderful job by Jamie and everybody at Stonemaier. A fantastic expansion that is a must-have for Finspans. So, make sure you go out and get it. Until next time, it's your old power up. We'll see you soon, everybody. >> [music]
