Hi guys, welcome back to my channel on table board game. I'm Janna and I haven't been here for a while, but today I'm back with a new project, a new board game, Opera Magna from Italian publisher Ludus Magnus Studio. If you are familiar with the board games like barash or di divided at empera those you should know that opera magna is a new project new board game by the creator of those games. So maybe uh this will interest you. In a moment I will show you and tell you how to rebuild the cathedral in Florence and how earn the most victory point for that. So enjoy the video and be sure to let me know if you like it.

In Opera Magna, the central part of the game consists of the three city boards. Above and below each board, there are cards. At the top, we have cards showing costs, while at the bottom, there are profit cards. And in these two areas on the city boards that we will be sent our merchants in order to play cost and gain profits. We will need them to construct buildings as well as to expand the titular opera Magna Cathedral, earning victory points in the process. But now let's organize this a little. Each player's turn begins with the merchant step during which we move our merchant to the different areas on the city boards. You can send a merchant to any city board either to the cost area located at the top of the city board or to the profit area located at the bottom. But what's very important, you can only move your merchant to an area where there is no merchant of your color. In other words, you cannot have two of your merchants in the same area. So when we move a merchant to an area, in this case the profit area, we discard the leftmost card from the row. The remaining cards are shift to the left and in the empty space that has been created, meaning the rightmost slot, we added a card from your hand. The card

must be placed in such a way that either is cost or profit section is visible. In my example, it's the bottom part of the card, meaning the profit. The cost area of the top of the city board works in the same way. So, we also discard the leftmost card and add a new card on the right. In this case, making sure that the top part of the card is visible. After a player moves the merchant to the cost area, meaning the area the top of the city board, once per turn, they may use that city's special effect. The effect token is asigned randomly during setup. So the effects on the different city board will change from game to game. The second step of the player's turn after moving a merchant to one of the city boards and playing trade cards into the appropriate areas is the city activation step. Activating a city means paying a cost according to all the visible icons on the trade cards in the cost area.

Then you can collect the profits according to the icons on the trade cards located below the city board. In the example I'm showing, we need to pay scent and wood as the cost. This is done by moving the markers on the appropriate tracks on each player's shop board. Okay, so now we move on the profit area, meaning the trade cards located below the city board. Here in the same way we move the markers on the marble and wood tracks to indicate the profits we have gained. In the case of refined materials such as the glass we have gain as a profit in this example. We place the appropriate number of player markers above the player board in the designated space. In this case next to the glass symbol. In the case of refined materials such as the glass we have gained as a profit in this case we place the appropriate number of player markers above the player board in the designated space. All of these refined resources will be needed to construct buildings.

And this brings us to the buildings. You have to know that there are three categories of buildings small, medium and large. So when we are able to pay the construction cost shown in the middle section of a card, we take that building card and place it in one of the matching spaces on either the left or right side of our player shop board. The first building card tracked underneath the player board immediately unlock the corresponding consequences of the left side of the board or a special effect on the right side.

In addition, each building provides victory points at the end of the game depending on its size. But the most important thing to remember about refined goods is that all of the ones gained during a turn must be spent during the same turn. They do not carry over to future turns and cannot be stored. If you have any left at the end of your turn, they are lost. So, what do we use them for? We spend them on constructing buildings, but we can also use them to expand, that is upgrade the cathedral or to convert refined goods. During setup, we place 12 workplace tokens on the cathedral board. This is where refined goods can be placed in order to contribute to the expansion and improvement to the cathedral and therefore of course to gain bonuses and victory points. In order to place one of your marker on the cathedral board, you must first have the required refined good and the certificate marker for that particular good must also be at the required level. Keeping in mind that all refined goods are lost at the end of the turn. It may be worth converting them.

Each refined good can be converted into its corresponding raw material. For example, glass can be converted into sand, a column into marble, planks into raw wood, and the bell into lead. All of this is, of course, recorder by moving the appropriate markers on the tracks of the shopboard belonging to the player who's converting those resources. During the final fourth step of the turn, the end of turn step, we refresh the building cards and each player may purchase new trade cards. These are the cards that player will use to influence the markets on the city boards. As you can see, the cards in first column is always free, while the cards in the following columns require you to pay the cost shown above them. In addition, the trade cards on the market board also determine when the game ends. Once this card run out, which happens after nine runs, all players calculate their scores. And of course, the players with the most points win this game. Guys, it's all for me today. Thank you very much for watching. I will leave uh a link to the game campaign in the description below and see you soon in next video. Bye.

You're my music, but you tear me to pieces. So, where does it come from? The scene that keeps playing on repeat, ignores the rule of thumb. Oh, where does it come from? Oh, where does it come from? All your emotions with your heart on your sleeve. It won't fade until you paint it black. I let it burn. You call the fire bouquet, but I feel [singing] that it will come back. Oh, where does it come from?
