Cacaocassonne 🍪🍫🌿❤️☺️ #boardgames #tabletopgames #familygames
This is a fun family game where you'll be immersed in the exotic world of the fruit of the gods. As the chief of your tribe, you'll lead your people to prosperity and glory through the cultivation and trade of cacao. This is a tile laying game with a twist. I often like to call this game cacaone cuz it often reminds me of Carcassone, but with a different way of playing it.
Each player in the game is going to have a set of worker tiles that depict different numbers of meeples on the four edges. Each player will have a circular village board that has water fields, some worshipping spaces, and places to store the cocoa fruit after it's harvested. This game is played in checkerboard style fashion.
As you place your worker tiles, the number of workers on the edge of the tiles that touches the jungle tiles will trigger that particular action or resource generation multiple times. It might be getting two cacao. It might be getting gold or movement up the water track around your board. Because if you don't move up the water track further enough, you'll incur a gold penalty at the end of the game.
You can even trade your cacao at different markets for different prices. And there are even temples where you want to have the most number of workers around it. If you acquire a sun token, you'll be able to overbuild on a pre-existing village space that you've placed out. This is a game that benefits from the chocolate expansion, which provides you with maps, allows you to make chocolate bars, and sell them at the chocolate market.
It's cacao and I love
