SETI: Space Agencies - Tutorial & Playthrough

Gaming Rules! Jan 26, 2026
Transcript 2:45:16

this. And good afternoon everybody. Thank you very much for joining us. Please let us know if you can hear us and you can see us, okay? Because I've been having a number of technical issues this morning that I won't go into details of cuz it would take me an hour. And this is a sponsored playthrough. So, thank you very much to check games editions for sp for sponsoring this playthrough. AV is all good. Thank you very much for letting me know. We are going to be bringing you SETI with the Space Agency's expansion which came out at Essen Spiel last year. Now, we're not going to be teaching you how to play SetI. That has already been done. CG have got their own how to play video for the base game of Seti. And I've actually got a tutorial and play through as well with the lovely Steven who came over

when September 24. Yes.

Yes. So Steven came over September 24. There is a video on my channel of a tutorial and play through with Steven teaching me how to play the game

and that was the first time I played it. That's the first time I've covered it.

I would just say there are a couple of nuances in there that changed.

Did they?

From the playth through. Yeah. So it's the timing of when you close a sector.

Yeah. We were doing it after a turn, not as soon as

Oh, it's immediate. Yeah.

Right. Yeah. Cuz we did that playth through just before the game came out.

And I had the rule book prototype on my phone and that was it.

Yeah.

Um, so yes. So we're going to be showing you what's new in the expansion today, which I've never played.

Stuart's never played. Steven has played once.

You've played SETI a number of times, but you've only played with the expansion.

I probably Yes. I've played 10 times. Yeah.

But I've taught it more than I've played it.

Okay. So, the expansion contains a number of things and the first thing I'm going to tell you about is the actual space agencies, the corporations. Each player has their own corporation, which is a unique asymmetric thing. There are how many of them? 11

11 asymmetric organizations. And what you're supposed to do is you're supposed to shuffle them all together. Everybody gets two and then each player chooses which one they want to play. But you don't have to make that decision right at the start. You actually get some extra cards as well. You look at everything and then you decide which ones you're going to play. For today, I'm going to show you which one I'm going to be playing. So, today, Matthew, I am going to be playing orbital dynamics. So, there's a various bits of information on here. First of all, this is what I start with. So, this replaces the normal start card that you get in the game. So, I'm actually going to start with two probes already. How is that possible, you think? Well, bear with me. I also start with three publicity. That's instead of the normal starting of four that everybody normally starts with. I start with two credits, two energy, and I'm going to be talking two cards. So, in a minute, I'm going to be talking two cards into here, and I'm going to be getting the benefits of them. You also have a permanent ability.

So, my permanent ability for the whole game is I can have one extra probe than normal, which is why I start with two and if I unlock that space on my playerboard, that one, I can have three. Also, each agency has a free action. So, once per round, so not once per turn, but once per round, I can put one of my little tokens on here and do this. So, my special ability is all about probes. I can gain one movement point with up to two of my probes. So, that's one movement point with two different probes. That's me. I am orbital dynamics. Steven, who are you today? Today I shall be for the uh duration Deep Sky Survey. Do you want to see my card?

Cool. Let's have a look.

So Deep Sky Survey is going to start with free publicity, one data, three money, two energy. You're going to took two cards.

Yep.

Analyzing data for you. Doesn't cost energy.

No. So I shall need to be doing a lot of scanning to exploit that.

You're going to be doing that. And as a free action,

you can exchange a card in your hand with one from the card row.

Yes.

That's nice. It is nice.

Also, we've got

situational.

Yeah.

So, what's this?

This is a scan token.

Scan token. So, scan tokens are new with this game. There are various ways in the game that you can get these scan tokens. And Steven is going to get one of these scan tokens every time he takes his income

as income. Yes.

Which is when you pass, isn't it? In a round when you

It's between rounds, but sure.

So, let's talk about the scan tokens now. So, as I mentioned, these scan tokens are new. And whenever you're scanning, you may spend one or more of these tokens.

You can spend up to two.

Up to two. Up to two of these tokens. And each one you spend allows you to discard a card from the card row and scan in the corresponding sector.

Yep. And it's up to two.

Up to two. Because you can normally do one.

You can normally do one. But what happens then is the card is removed and not replaced until you finish your scan action. So that's why you can only use

That's why you can only use an extra an extra two. Uh, okay. People are just we're gonna have just have a pause before we go to Stuart. Apparently, it's only 720p. Yeah, there are very very bad technical issues at the moment. Um, my entire software this morning basically had a had a massive problem. And yeah, it it looks like it is only going out 720p. So, I have two choices here. I could stop the stream temporarily. You you don't need to go anywhere. It will carry on, I think, in the background. Although, actually, it probably won't because just just bear with us a minute. I I there's a thing that I might be able to do. Uh, and literally, we almost weren't able to go live today. I was frantically trying to get this already.

Um, my concern is if I stop the stream now, it's actually going to not carry on in the background. So, just bear with us a minute before we go to Stuart. There might be something that I can do. And I apologize for this. It is one of those things which uh is not great. Okay. Enable auto stop. So I think what we might do is we might go through Stuart's and then I'm going to try something to get it to switch to 1080p. But just bear with the minute. So Stuart,

ready for mic? I've got Benwick Research Center.

Okay, let's show it on the big screen. Okay, we have Is it showing up? It is showing up. So, you're going to start the game with four publicity, three money, one energy. You're going to took three cards at the start of the game. Your permanent ability is that researching a tech only cost you five publicity instead of six. And once per round as a free action, you can spend a publicity to gain one card and you gain the card's free action corner effect immediately. Oh, so you get a card from the deck. Is it a card from the deck? Oh, no. It's one from the display. It's choose a card.

Doesn't have the question mark.

That's right.

Right. So, you take you choose a card from the display and you immediately get the free action corner effect.

Excellent. And your income is slightly different.

Yes. You get more money.

Three credits, one energy.

Oh, you get a publicity instead of a card.

Ah, so me and Steven get a card and you get a publicity instead. Just

which I can spend to get a card.

Just just check this ball. There is a there's a couple of other things on that card. Is there

that would be of interest?

What?

So

there's a rabbit here.

No, no. So this symbol here

Yes. means refresh. This

means refresh your token.

Just as a reminder.

Yeah. And then

you remove that.

Down here. There's a tiny little number.

Yep.

Which indicates how difficult CGE have decided these

Oh, I thought it was just 1 to 11.

Oh, okay.

They they are degrees of difficulty.

Right. So I've got number one.

Okay.

Well, that suits suits me. Yeah,

I've got number two.

It does suggest when you're first playing that you use numbers one to four.

Uh the the other ones are more complicated.

Don't want I don't want to go to the number 11 yet.

Not yet.

And some of the new agencies actually introduce extra um components.

They do that you're going to use.

Right. We're going to take a risk. We're going to stop this stream temporarily. I'm going to switch the resolution to 1080p.

If it works okay, and please cross your fingers, the stream will carry on. there'll be a momentary gap and then the stream will carry on. However, if something does go wrong, there will be a new stream with a new link and I will post that new link in the description of this video. So, this will be the start of the video and the second one will be the second part. But bear with a minute, cross your fingers and we'll see what happens. Okay, so I think it has picked it up.

It stopped refreshing on the phone. Okay, so I think we are back live on the same link. So that bit worked, but let me know if you can now change it to 1080p. If you can't, I apologize profusely. There is nothing I can do. And um yes, but yeah, hopefully we are 1080p, right? What else to tell you about in the expansion? I will tell you about though, we have picked one new alien and one old alien. I agreed this with CG this morning. We agreed to show one of the new aliens. What you're supposed to do is you're supposed to shuffle the three ones with the five original and then pick two at random. So, you might not get one of the new aliens, but we are definitely playing with one of the new ones and one of the old ones. We'll find out what they are, but when we do discover them, we are going to get the sheet and we are going to explain how they work, even if it's an old one for those people who uh who have played.

Okay. So, if you press the if you refresh your page, you will be able to switch to 1080. Excellent. Thank you very much. Right. Other things that are in the new expansion are we mentioned the scanning tokens.

Yes.

Oh, the big one. We're only playing four rounds, but we're not playing round one, two, three, four. Oh, no. We're playing rounds two, three, four, five. So, round one has already happened, and that is because we start with some different stuff, and it's all about the quick start cards. So, what you do is you get two quick start. So you get three quick start cards along with your two corporations and along with four normal cards. So you get all of that stuff and then out of your three quick start card, you choose two of them. And we're now going to go through these because these are played and these simulate what's happened in round one. So, the first thing is you will see the top half of the card is basically me doing something on the board, but I'm not going to get the bonuses for doing so. So, I'm going to be marking without gaining any bonuses the pink discovery space on the right species and I am going to be placing a probe in orbit at Jupiter. So, that's what's the top part of the card is. The bottom part of the card is just again extra stuff that I get. So I'm going to start the game with six points, two publicity, and one data. But what we haven't done is we haven't actually determined turn order. So that we should do that first.

So first player is

that'll be me,

right? So we should probably do your starting cards first.

Okay.

So you start the game with where's it gone?

Where's what gone?

Yeah, there. So you start the game with one point. Stuart's going to start the game with two points. I'm going to start the game with three points.

Happy that second place.

So, we don't need to show yours on camera. Just Just let us know what you've got.

Yeah, sure. So, I'm going to put

Okay. Steven mentioned that resolving a completed sector now happens the moment it is full. Where did this in where did you get this info from? As far as I know, it still happens after the action is complete.

It it is after the action is complete, right? Because you do the action

and then you

and then you do it. Yes.

Okay.

Um,

so what have you got? I have got uh an orbiter at Uranus.

Okay, so that goes there.

So I don't get the three

don't get the three points or the eight or the three cards, none of that stuff.

A lot of the cards actually do give the the awards that you would get for doing that. But in this instance, uh this it doesn't. But I do tuck this card.

Oh,

and immediately take

a card.

A card.

Oh, so you've got a starting card.

Yeah,

that actually took the card for income. Yes. Nice. what I did in the first round.

Okay.

Uh and then handily for me, I get two signals at Proxima Centtory.

Oh, specifically, not just red, but specifically that one.

So again, I don't gain those.

You don't gain the two points.

And you don't gain those.

I don't gain those. I don't get the two points, but then the card says, "And you get two points." And so the same thing.

Yeah.

Two points.

Yep. Please.

Stuart, what's your two starting cards? So, I have got an Orbiter.

No problem here.

Neptune.

Yep.

We did a lot in round one.

Yes.

Uh, increase your income with this card and

immediately get a data.

Data.

There we go.

Then my second one is to scan

two signals in that one. Yeah.

Yeah. And again, you don't get this data, but then you get two points and two data.

Yes.

Right. And then my cards.

What do we do? The

uh dead.

Thank you.

So I get um the discovery the pink discovery space on the right species. So there. And I also got three points in a publicity. So one, two, three, which is

in a publicity. Oh, which is what you would get for the space. Right. Okay. And I also put an orbiter around Jupiter. And I get another three points. One, two, three. One publicity and one data. And that is the game. So I win with nine points.

We have to attack some cards.

I know. I've won.

Too late.

I know you have.

If you want to play again.

I'm feeling bereft of points.

I did come second.

All right. Fine.

So you're talking

I'm going to take two cards.

Two cards. And you get those bonuses immediately. You're talking three

energy.

Wow. Which means you're not going to have many cards in hand to start with.

Credit and an energy, please.

I think you

right. And I'm took two cards as well.

So, I get a credit and two energy.

Did we all get a ton of publicity on our starting cards? Well,

no.

I mean, my corporation was three.

Your corporation was three.

I got four.

And Stuarts was four. So, yeah, our starting corporations did have a lot of publicity on them. Well, I don't know if that is a lot compared to the others, right? I think so. I'm took two of these cards. I think I'm going to took these two. So, that's going to give me a credit. I'm going to put my resources here so people can see them. And it also gives me a card from the deck. Okay. Right. Okay.

And without further ado, I believe

we are starting.

We are starting.

Start.

So Steven is the first player.

Yeah.

In round two.

So I am going to play the first black hole photo for two credits

to gain two data and a mission to discover blue traces, which is handy because I can get them for no energy.

Yeah. So, I will play this card, which lets me spend two credits,

draw three cards from the top in the deck and have no cards in your hand. Yeah.

So, at some point when you have no cards in your hand, no, that is one of the missions.

Oh, that's a mission.

So, that stays in play and as soon as you've got no cards in hand,

you get a card.

Lovely. That's it.

Good luck at getting rid of all of those cards. reactions. I definitely want this. I also definitely want that.

Look at where Earth is in the asteroids. Who did this random board set up?

Well, we knew exactly where your probes wanted to be.

You may need a new tech.

That was me. Okay. So, I think I'm going to play a card. And I'm going to play breakthrough watch. So I get one movement point with one of my probes. So it's going to be this probe. It looks that way and go road's closed.

Sure.

Go that way. Road's closed. I mean, you can go into asteroids, but it's expensive to leave. So I'm just going to go this way.

And I also get to scan yellow.

So yellow could be, and that's any yellow. Doesn't matter where Earth is or anything like that. Could be there or it could be here. Let's go for that one. Let's get some data. Oh, there's always the two for one on things.

Yes.

Yeah. So, as a as a free action, anytime on your turn, it's two for one. And a card could be

one of those things.

Cards can be Well, you need two cards.

Yeah. It's credits, energy, and cards.

Yes.

Are the three different things. And two of them the same could become one of something else.

Two like for one other.

Two cards could be one card though as well.

It could. Yes.

If you really had cards that you didn't want and you really wanted one of those.

Uh so I've done that. I've done that. I've got the data. And that is that card

done. Do we have a discard pile?

Uh I'll put it here.

Sure. Okay. Now I'm torn. Where did you go? Marked yellow. Okay.

I followed uh I followed Stuart. Stuart said there was something here.

Yeah. Okay. Uh so I am going need the publicity but I need I need to scan.

The quality of the stream may still be poor. I apologize for that in advance. There are, as I say, I lost all of the software half an hour before we started the stream. So, I've had to rebuild it as quick as I could and there might still be some settings that are not as good as they were before.

I'm going to spend two energy and a credit. I'll put them up here. And then I've got a supply

on your own little pot.

My own little pot

uh to scan. So, I'll scan here.

Got all that data.

I've got six data. So, before I do my second scan,

Uhhuh.

I will pop one of those there. One of those there for one publicity, please.

Yeah.

One of those. Oh,

cuz you're limited to six in here.

I'm limited to six. Yeah. And then I'll take

um I'll take yellow

cuz Yeah, your default scan is

from Earth.

Yes.

And a card from the display.

Yeah. Uh, do you discard that card? But that card is discarded. Yes,

there you go.

And then having finished my scan action, it turn.

Okay, I will play this.

It's another mission.

Uh, cost me two and I can send to

double scan here. Is that it? It's done. Wow, that quick. Right. So, who's got the most? Uh, that'll be green.

Just about. Yeah.

A pink trace. Yep. You get a pink.

Okay. So, this would just go there. Yeah.

Or there.

Oh, there. Or this one. Yeah, definitely that one.

Five points. Five points and a publicity.

And then this is everybody who was there gets a publicity publicity. So, we all get a publicity. And then whoever was second place, which I believe is me,

which is me.

It's whoever was last.

Yeah,

your information is more recent.

That's the way I describe it. The latest greatest data is what the scientists are interested in.

My data is so yesterday.

It was nice of you to contribute.

Yeah, thank you.

We've learned so much more.

So, what did I get for that? I got the public.

You got the publicity.

Yeah. Okay.

And you've got another mission. Yep. Uh if I have two traces on yellow, I can

two traces or two things.

Yeah. Two of these are they what they called again? Signal

these.

Yes.

Well, they're winning tokens.

Winning tokens. Yeah. Yeah.

So, this is where under the original playthrough that we did,

that would have been the end of the term, but now Stuart could do free actions.

Do free actions and stuff like that. Right. Got it. I see. Right. Well, I've got six publicity, and six publicity is what you need to get a tech. So, I think that's what I'm going to do.

Protect the yellow.

Can you get away from those asteroid fields?

Yeah. So,

right, I might use my free action first. So, if I use my free action first, cuz yellow's rotating, which is

the inner one. So, do you want to go to Mars?

I'm just going to work out where Yeah. Okay.

You want a Mars? Yeah.

So, what will happen is that will go there and then then what will happen?

That will bump

and it'll get bumped

and then it will go

into there.

into there. Right. That's not what I want.

Maybe.

It's not what I want at all.

Yes, you do.

No, I don't.

So, I'm going to do my free action first. So, I get two get one movement point with two different probes. We're going to send one probe to say hello to Mars.

Get one publicity.

And we're going to send the other probe into the asteroid field.

Okay.

Right. Then I'm spending the six publicity to take a tech, which rotates this, which now has no effect on me. And I am going to take the one that allows me to leave asteroid fields for one instead of two. So I get two points. I get this benefit immediately.

One card which is one of those cards or this one

and you get the tech then after it moves. So you couldn't

Yeah. So it does this spend the six publicity system gain the

right.

So which one of those cards do I want?

It's a good one.

I mean it is a good one.

It's basically a take for three money instead of six publicity. Yes,

but money's, as they say, a little bit tight.

Running space agencies is not cheap.

So, I'm going to take this one. Yeah. So, I did my free action, moved my probes around, got some uh got some tech.

Okay,

we're done.

All righty. So I am going to do that. I'm going to do that. Tuck that card.

More income.

That card and then that and then that. And then I'm going to run my computer.

Oh, that.

Yes.

You're putting a thing on there.

So then I'm going to run my computer for zero data. So for zero

zero energy. I was going to say zero data.

Zero data would be amazing. That's all gone.

Data has been analyzed.

It has. And I'm going to go

five points and a publicity.

And one publicity,

right? Uh over to me. Is it?

It is.

Uh play a card for the free thing. That's a free action. Is it

in the top corner?

Yes.

Yeah.

Just just discard it for whatever's in the top left.

Okay.

I'm going to go for a upgrade, I think. Right.

Six publicity.

Uh five.

Five.

Five. Okay. So,

this rotates.

Yes.

Oh, so that just gets bumped into there

and you gain the publicity.

You're welcome.

So, I was going through this asteroid field and then aid came along and I went quick. hardware.

All of this scientific community working together.

Yeah,

it's amazing.

And let's grab an upgrade.

We want some of some cash, but there's none on that cash. Let's go for that. Two points for that one. Got it.

Now this is really interesting.

So I can spend energy as movement

one per Yes.

But I need another money.

You could exchange your two money for one money.

I could and then I would need two money.

Just trying to help.

Yeah. Thank you. Did you get a card when you picked up your tech?

Uh, no. You gain a card, dude.

No, you did.

Whatever's on the back of your

Oh, yeah. Yeah. Thank you for that.

Chat spotted. Spot spotted it. Thank you, chat. So, yeah, but I want the energy to move.

Know what that is? What's that? Is that an action you can launch?

So, pay three credits, rotate the solar system, gain either a probe tech or a scan tech.

Oh, is it? You get an extra tech.

Mhm.

So, as Paul said, for three credits instead of six five publicity.

Can't afford it. So, let's just go for uh this one here.

Okay, I spent the energy. I am going to move this probe to Jupiter because now any shenanigans going on here, I'm fine. I'm at Jupiter. Yes, it's worth pointing out that if you are ever on a planet, you can't be moved off the planet.

No,

with the rotation.

Right. So, that was a free action.

It was. Where is Saturn? Where is Saturn? But if I do that, then I won't be able to do that. But if I do that, I then won't be able to do that. Wow.

Yeah. Can't have everything. So, I'm going to play this card. This is an interesting card. This is strategic planning. So, it does nothing. But I now have these three little missions. When I play a card that costs one, when I play a card that costs two, when I play a card that

spend more.

Yes.

You're working on your credit income, aren't you?

I I am. I might be having a short second round. Okay, that's me done.

Is that you done? Right. I will spend my six publicity. Rotate the blue. You're off, Paul. There you go.

Well, I need to stay at Jupiter.

You're getting around a bit, aren't you?

Yeah.

All right. Uh I will because I think I'm going to have to scan. I'm going to take this one.

Two points.

It's going to be two points. I think I'm going to take this one or another three points, please. It's in the lead.

Woohoo.

And that one's going to slot in there.

Yeah. Thanks to it.

Uh, free play that card to get one data.

Thank you.

Then data. Two points for that one.

Usually later in the game.

One publicity. Get an income. Paul, can you just put me up one publicity and two points?

Two points for green

and then I can spend one energy to scan. No, not scan the analyze.

Analyze data.

You gain a blue trace. Blue

trace. It will go on the three points under publicity. ones go back out bottom here. That in the way at all?

It will be.

Okay.

When we find those pesky aliens.

So, I've got a card that costs three. Can't play. I got a card that costs two. I can't play.

Would you like to pass?

I don't have six. I don't want to pass.

But I think I'm going to. So when when the first player passes in around that moves on, I get one of these and then I get my income. Is that right? Or does income happen?

Income happens between rounds.

Okay. So it's just the taking of the card

just to speed the game up. It's there's no harm in you in me doing it now.

It's not like we can take income away from you.

No. But yeah, you can be taking your turn now.

Yes. And then your liberty to choose those for as long as you as long as Stu and I keep playing.

So I'll pass. Now you have to make a decision.

Okay. I'll take my free action to spend one publicity to gain a card. And I get the cards free corner effect. Free action corner effect, which is going to be gain another card. I haven't got any of those. That one. So no, it's this effect. you're gaining.

Oh, perfect. That's all right.

So, you get you'll get your publicity back.

Yeah,

whichever you choose.

Let's go for that one.

Thank you.

And then just keep playing.

Um, at that point,

uh, don't think Stuart got the credit. He chose not to claim it. What's that about?

I didn't have enough that credit there. I had six data.

Yeah, you wanted. Yes. Yes.

I just got it for the two points.

See, if I'd used the credit, I wouldn't have had anything. So this one gets replenished.

You got more stuff to do.

No pass cards.

Yeah. And then we all get

play my cards.

Well, you get one of them.

You get one of them.

Just checking. Paul, you did discard down to four cars, didn't you?

I had three.

Sure. I had two. I didn't use my scan to I didn't use my freection my free action though.

Uh three credits.

May I have another energy please?

Thank you. Three cars. How many cards did you want from here? Paul,

I've done the chat is saying that when you tugged that card, Brinkham, you maybe didn't get the credit. Do you remember getting the credit?

Attack that for the Oh, was I meant to get a credit?

Yeah, whenever you took a card for in you get the Thank you, Jack.

Thank you.

Uh,

yeah.

I have a scan token now though, please.

Oh, yes.

Thank you.

Start player passes.

It does. I think these a pair of these can't be exchanged.

No, they're not.

No, they're not.

They're not a resource as such.

No.

Yeah. Right. We're just going to pause and we're just going to go through the

Can I have one publicity, please, on mine for my income?

The gold objectives.

Yeah. on data as well please.

Right. So the gold objectives we have in play we have this one which is for each set of tucked credit energy and card incomes not counting your starting ones. So that's interesting because you've got a card that's tucked for data but it doesn't count towards this.

This is just for every two takes number of text divided by two effectively or yeah number of pairs of text. Uh, this is for each set of traces.

Yes.

Yep. Uh, and this one, I've not played with this one before. For every two cards with either a completed mission or a gold end of game scoring box.

Yep.

Right. So, the mission has to be complete. So, a completed mission that's been to.

So, no good. No good.

Not at the moment.

No good.

But

could be.

Could be. Right. Round three.

Oh, am I starting? Oh,

you are the starting player.

That's uh

Come on.

Brilliant. Fast left.

Four. Wow. Okay, that's pretty good.

That's just too many. Get a trace, isn't it?

I pay two money, get a trace. Yes.

Yeah. Uh, seems very good.

But then you you gain a trace and then you get points for the one you have and that one there.

Yeah, seems very good.

Right, I'm gonna spend one credit to mark a trace.

Mark a trace for a species which you've already Well, a blue trace for a species that you've already got a blue trace.

Three points.

Three points.

It's done.

Okay. So, landing. I have this probe

at Jupiter. In order to turn it into a lander, I need to spend three energy. But because there is an orbiter there of any player, yes,

it's only going to cost me two energy.

Yes.

Cheap as chips.

Seems good.

But first,

first you want to move it.

Yeah. Off Jupiter.

Off Jupiter.

So, we're going to play this. So, that's three credit. So, because I've paid for a card with three credits,

Yeah. I get two publicity. We rotate around

orange, please.

So, we're rotating orange.

And then I'm going to get an orange tech. So, if I get the one that allows me to have two probes, that for me is effectively three.

Three probes. Yes.

But I'm going to take the one that makes landing cheaper.

Why not?

Cuz that's what I'm going to take.

How many points would you like?

Five points, please. Right. So that's my card, which means I've already done my action, so I can't do that yet.

Okay, done.

Good. Two credits to play the SETI Institute. So when I scan, I have some missions to complete.

Okay, my turn.

It is.

If I get two points, what happens?

The alien.

Well, the the other player.

Yes. So you finish your turn. You finish your turn completely and then this comes out and that will go there.

It will go there

and that alien will be discovered.

Okay. So, a funny story. I'm just going to interrupt the play through to tell you a funny story. Uh, one of my patron supporters the first time he played this game said that he told he told us this story and I'll try and tell it, but basically he said he didn't like the dummy player rules,

right?

Because they can discover the aliens. And I'm like, well, yes, but without the dummy player rules discovering the aliens, it would be slower than it would be normally. Anyway, it transpires

that when he'd finished his turn, he popped to the L

and while he was at the L, another player moved over that and the dummy player discovered the aliens while he was on the toilet.

Oh,

and so he came back to the game and the aliens had been discovered.

I just thought that was a funny story.

It is. Okay, I'm just going to play this card here for one credit, which gets me one publicity.

Oh, starting income cards do count for the Yes. Not what's printed on the card is is what I meant.

Yeah, the card income.

The card. Yeah, what your starting income? Yeah, the top cards.

Stephen, you put me up to five publicity now.

Oh, not again.

Five is all you need.

That's it,

right?

I'm not going to do that. We're landing. So, it's only going to cost me one energy.

Jupiter.

Yeah.

What do I get? Two data.

Two data.

Seven points.

Seven of those Earth points

and a trace.

Yellow trace.

Oh, okay.

Now, that's an interesting timing situation.

I'm pretty sure that's end of turn, isn't it?

No. Well, revealing the alien is end of turn.

Okay. We're just going to double check that in the rule book.

Yes. about the dummy player and when exactly it happens

before or after your choice.

You just gained a yellow tech.

A yellow trace. So both aliens are about to be discovered.

Yeah. But which can pool pick before the

I don't know

that one.

That's an interesting one.

It is an interesting one and I'm sure it's been asked before.

So let's have a look. Discovering alien species. Where is it in the rules?

Somebody tell me where it is in the rules. Uh it's not solo game rules. Oh, we're going to get more car. Oh, some of these some get

Yeah, we are going to get more cards.

Trying to get cards.

We are all

We have like one left.

Milestones. Is it milestones? No, it's not milestones, is it?

No.

Discovering alien species. Try and find where it is. Somebody in the chat will tell me. It's It's the three player game rules.

It is. It is a three-player. Well, it's it's the less than four players.

Yes, the less than four player rules.

And yeah, doesn't matter how well you know the game, every so often something like this is going to happen. Marking signals, completing a sector, resetting the sector, it's not that.

Analyzing data, it's not that. Playing a card, it's not that. Uh, researching a tech, rotating the solar system. It's not that.

Just check. It's not on setup, is it?

Yeah.

I wouldn't have thought it would be on setup.

It It's neutral milestones. It's here in games with fewer than four players. Yes. Non-player markers at the end of a turn in which you reach your So, it's end of turn.

So, I was right. It's end of turn, but

that's end of turn, which means I get

the five

another five points

and the publicity

and this. So, you're going to choose

Have you not already just given me the five points?

No, I gave you seven points for landing on

Oh, right. Okay.

Uh, another publicity.

Another publicity,

right?

Yeah.

And then

is that just the first player going past or everyone gets

everybody that gets that?

The alien species below each border three discovery, right? If it's discovered during your turn, resolve the discovery after you finish your turn. So, that's also end of turn. Yeah.

If there are any milestones, resolve them before resolving the discovery. So, we're going to do we're going to do the milestone first.

Yeah.

Oh, at the end of my turn because I passed there. Yeah.

Then we're going to do the alien.

Then we're going to do that one which is going to do that one. Right.

Put that out because you're not going to discover another yellow trace, are you? Right now. No.

No. We we we have got the timing sorted. We hope that's correct. Thank you for bearing with us.

So, we're going to discover this one.

Yes.

No. Like we just said, um it's going to be this one for me. There you go. Fair enough.

Then what is it? It is It's the one of the new ones. So it's the amiboid thing.

So I've not seen this one.

The amoeba.

Ammo.

So this is one from the new expansion. So and we have a Loki. We We have a greater spotted Loki.

Right. When first appeared, what first appeared to be an ordinary asteroid sample became a discovery of profound significance. A living unicellular organism of alien origin. Resembling terrestrial amiiboids, it has captured global attention. Studied under strict containment, it exhibits adaptive resistance almost as if it were actively sabotaging our efforts to understand it.

Hello. Right. So, what we've got is we have 10 cards as normal. When this species is discovered, shuffle the deck and deal cards to the players who marked the three discovery spaces.

Green.

There's one each.

Thank you very much. As normal, these cards are more powerful

versions of cards. We put the rest of the deck nearby. We get a card and whenever you see that icon, you can draw either that card or that card. Then we've got the organel tokens. So, we've got five organel tokens which get shuffled and these get placed on the starting spaces as you can see here. Right. And how it works is in addition to gaining what is depicted on the space that you are marking,

you also get all of the bonuses in that section. So if you were to go here, you would draw a card and you would get all of the bonuses in the blue section. Okay?

Right? Any of these, all of the bonuses in the yellow section, any of these, all of the bonuses in the in the pink section. Sometimes you will see just one of those icons, which means you get any one of those of your choice. Every time you get a bonus, no matter whether it's from marking a space on the board or from an effect of a card, you must then move all of the organels one space in the direction depicted on the board. So everything moves around. So in the outer ring, everything moves clockwise. On the inner ring, it moves counterclockwise.

So basically, it's changing.

Yeah. Okay,

that's it. It's very amoeba like.

Yeah, that's that's how that works.

And then

and then after my turn, the dummy player comes along. Hang on, I need to pop the loop. And discovers Ah, now this is one from the original game.

The anomalies.

The anomalies, which I've also not played with.

Yeah, I've not seen them before.

Three enormous, highly reflective objects have been discovered in our solar system. These anomalies distort spaceime around them, implying a connection to distant observers. Their discovery has sparked protests, worship, and a newfound sense of global unity. We are watching them, but it's somebody watching back. So, we shuffle the deck. Everybody who helped discover it gets a card. So, that's me and you.

Thank you.

If you want me to be the dummy, I'll take a card as well.

That goes there. That goes there. Okay.

Right. Anomalies. There are three anomaly tokens and we place them random side up in these spaces. One of them goes in a sector with so they go on the outermost ring, one in a sector where Earth is and then one three sectors counterclockwise from Earth and then three sectors clockwise from Earth. Right. If a token is placed in a space with Neptune or Uranus, make sure that you place it so that it doesn't cover the planet.

I did. Right. So, whenever the solar system rotates,

don't cover the comet either.

We check to see if Earth is now in the same sector as an anomaly. And if it is, then you check the anomaly board for whoever has the highest piece in the corresponding column. So, if Earth was to rotate now to here, it's blue. So, we look in the blue column, and whoever has the highest piece on here gets that bonus. Now there is always a space at the top here which is worth fewer points than the rest but there is considered higher than anything here. Yeah.

But then the next player to go would be higher and so on and so forth.

Uh and that's it.

These don't count.

Those I believe do not count.

No, they do not count. There's an example that says it's only ones on the board itself

and they don't like take the bonus off.

That stays there for the rest of the game. stay there. And it's every time the Earth lines up with one of them that whoever's here gets the bonus.

It's easy to miss this one when it happens.

Right. Okay.

So, is any bonus for trying to get multiple traces before the aliens come out? I guess not really. Except points.

Just points. And you can still go on this base.

And also there are there are cards. This is open. Yeah. Any number can go. And there are cards for scoring. So if this were to fill up, but you still need blue and this was filled up. You can still go there.

Well, suddenly.

Have you finished?

I mean, that's three end of turn things.

Yeah, I am finally done.

All right. So, I'm just going to take a quick pause. In fact, I'm not done.

You're not. What are you doing now? Are you free actioning now?

No, I have now done my mission, which is to have an orbiter and a lander at a single planet.

Would you like another three points?

I'd love I'll have another three points and some more data.

Ah, that's another choice. But this is wasted. It's It's just not happening.

And now I'm done. Sorry. That's

I do like big turns.

Right.

So, I forgot what I was going to do an hour ago.

Good.

Uh but I will just pause to tell Marie that we're here with Earthborne Rangers tomorrow.

Yes, tomorrow.

And I'm also Earthborne Rangering tonight, Marie. So, no, I haven't given up. But now I need to do something. If we have multiple conditional cards with the same like bonus. If I had another one.

No, those are triggerable.

A trigger.

So if you were to have two when you launch cuz that's what this one is.

You may only select one. Every piece requires a unique trigger.

Okay. Okay. So, two cards there with both launch. I can only cards.

It's the same trigger, but when I do that thing, I can't get back.

Yeah. I just know like two separate cards only once.

Only once.

Okie dokie. Uh, what was I going to do? Uh, where's Earth now? It's there.

It's here.

Sure. Um, and what's going on there? That's no good. Let's do this. Right. I am going to scan or two energy and one credit and scan here. Two points. Two points. Uh I'm going to scan yellow. It's gone.

Mhm.

So, I'll scan there again. And are you using your scanning token?

Um, not sure

because it's blue.

Blue. Nobody started blue. But I will

this there.

I will play for my tech.

Oh, you can do one from your hand.

This red one. Yeah.

Yeah.

Uh, sorry.

Yes, that red one. Because I'm not moving rogues.

Okay. Scan red.

Scan red. Maybe this one. And then I one, two, three, four, not use my scan token. Okay, thank you sir.

So I will free action as well. Gosh, I'm going to go for a right. I'm just going to play this one for one credit, which gets me a scan token and a publicity. one publicity for green

and

and then a bonus

and one of the bonuses in the pink section

which I will go for the publicity. So that moves everything around does it or is that only when you put them down?

Let's just double check. Each time you gain some organell bonuses, no matter if it's from marking a space or from a card effect, you must move all those organels one space in the direction depicted on the board.

All those. All those

the ones I've

I mean it must be all of them.

Must be all of them.

It must be all of them.

Do you want to describe that up there?

Oh yeah. Uh

oh. With this one.

No. Not sure why the word those is there. That's discarded.

Yeah.

Yep.

Well, it's an alien card.

That's fine.

Oh, okay.

Put it there.

Just to keep them separate.

Yeah.

It's annoying when you you go, I'm missing a card and you search this.

Who put them in there? Am I going?

Yes.

So many things now. This Yeah. Crazy amount of cards. I'm just going to play very simple card. The Galileo mission. Doesn't cost anything.

Sorry. Can I have discarded that one? That's the one I actually meant to discard.

And gives me bonuses if I visit Venus and Jupiter. And that's it.

Is that it?

That's it. My turn's done.

Okay.

Okay. So, Brian has confirmed it is only the organel token that was claimed.

Okay. So, in which case, what happens if it moves? Does it just jump over or does it?

It says, "The outer organels move in a clockwise direction. The inner ones move. If gaining all bonuses from a section, move all organels that were present simultaneously." Oh, thank you. I should have carried on reading. In case the target space is occupied, skip it and move it to the next empty space. Thank you, Brian.

Okay,

that's why it says the word. He jumps over.

Yeah,

I did read that earlier, but yeah, with everything going on today.

Uh, so I'm done. I've just played that card

and that's me for

Oh, hang on. I did I did a scan, didn't I?

I did a scan.

Scan.

So, pop that in for another two data. That's That's what

Okay. And now it's me, is it? Mhm.

Okay. Play another mission for one credit. So when I pass I get a launch.

I'll go for an upgrade. So spend five.

Five. Okay.

Blue. Uh so

that's everything, isn't it?

Yep. I'm going to go for this one. That's me.

Two points for green. Gain a card and two data.

Thank you.

So, there is a little bit of gaming there. So, you can see when it's going to move.

I'm also spending six publicity.

So, yellow. It's nearly there. I'm going to take this one.

Two points.

Two points. And I get an energy and I get to launch probe.

Mhm. And

that's going to go there. So I can now have three probes.

That's just being greedy.

You shouldn't the uh Dr. Evil.

Um cool. Right. I had better one of those. One of those for one publicity, please. One of those. One of those. I am going to tuck another card.

Go for Oh, now if I'm aiming for that, probably want to tuck something else instead. So, let's tuck this one. or a credit. Uh, more data analyze for no cost.

It's another blue trace.

It's another blue trace. Is

it going to be here because Oh, no. That's there. Ah, right. It is. Yeah.

But I think I'm going to go say Jess gain an alien card. It's a point. I think I'll have the point.

So, it's one point.

It's one point.

It's one

one data

me card.

Yeah. I also like

No, it's not data. Oh, it's data because it's everything in here.

Publicity.

So, I get the card.

Yeah. And then those tokens

one data and one publicity.

Yeah.

Because I like data.

My turn. I will spend these two cards for the publicity.

So, you get three publicity.

Yeah. Then,

oh, did one of the big ones go out, did it?

Yeah. Or an anomal. Is that an anomaly? Yeah. So, you want to sort that?

Oh, yeah. Uh, and then I'll use my free action to spend one publicity to gain a card and get the free action, which is a publicity. Um, yeah, let's get that.

Took the card I want. Oh, that's fine.

And then as my action, um, let's grab a upgrade and I'll take

for five.

This one for five points.

Five publicity. Yeah.

Sorry. You doing?

Yeah. So, that rotates.

Rotates again.

That rotates.

Oh, yeah. You did uh

I spent three cards. Did my free action. I bought an upgrade, which is five points for the upgrade. Choose

that goes there.

An end game

milestone.

Milestone.

Oh, I passed that, have I? Okay.

Yeah.

What do you go for the currently?

Yeah. Take one.

Yeah.

Right. I go

I'm going to play I'm going to flood the media space.

Oh no.

I'm going to spend a credit. And because I've spent a credit

is this a YouTube thing?

Yeah. I get two points and I draw all three cards from the card row. Give me give me give me give me give me. Oh, nice. And then I'm going to go data data publicity data data. Took that to get an energy. Okay. Nope. Still haven't used my ability yet. Uh, but where's Earth now?

Oh, yeah. Earth's here.

So, this triggers all but Well, there's nobody here. So, there is nobody there. Nobody gets a bonus.

That's fine. But I can probably close the sector.

Yeah.

Yeah.

If I were to uh And it's red. Lovely. So, um, two energy, one credit. Scan again. Scan here. I will take red scan here again. Wow,

so much scanning.

So much scanning. Um, I will use my scan token this time and I'll scan yellow over here. That's how you're doing it all on your own.

He's monopolizing the scanning.

Got to do the detailing.

Um, okay. So, we'll close this one. I get one publicity. Pink trace. What's pink doing? It's just two points.

So, are you still classed as second? I am not. It's

It's got to be another player, hasn't it? Um, okay. Let's go. Four points

and a card.

And a card. But I'll take this one.

Oh, yes. You can take that one, can't you? Yeah. Um, okay. Uh, sure. I'll just take a publicity for the time being. Thank you. Oh, another scam. Um, I'll Oh, we want cards.

So, do I want four points or

I'll take a card.

Mhm.

My turn. I will spend two credits to play that card. Let's go. Time allocation

things along a bit. You got all these missions to do, Stuart.

Yeah. Oh, yeah. I'm just trying to overwork all the stuff.

Almost there.

One guy left.

I'm going to throw it away as a free action. Unless you want it.

Is there a card there? I want No. No. Oh, wait. I've got two of them already. Uh, that's right. You don't.

All done. Okay.

Sorry. Was that a pass or you?

Not. Not a pass. Sorry. Play a card. Yeah.

I didn't do any free action.

Okay.

So,

I've done that as well, haven't I? I've done a blue trace.

I have some publicity.

Yeah, I'll take two publicity. Keep up with this stuff. Okay. So, this kind of Well, does it? So, this card combos quite well with my thing because this card gives me two moves and says that each time I visit a planet this turn

Yes.

So, I could combo that with my free action getting movement points. Visiting more planets

this turn.

Nice.

Getting more movement points. It's a slingshot, so it allows me to get out to the far reaches of space

where all the base points are. But the things are not aligned as much as I'd want them to be at the moment. So I I've talked to that that got me the energy. I've got the energy to be able to move things around.

I've also got I could scan, but my my scanning is a bit rubbish, isn't it? It's one card. It's Earth, which is here.

Yes. And also one card from there.

Yes. And there is a red

now. Two reds.

Yeah. I just don't know what I mean. Scanning gets data. Scanning gets me the data. I need the data. Okay, maybe I will.

I'm going to do it.

I'm going to scan. I'm not very good at scanning, but I call Steven up and I say, "How do you do this?"

Well,

press those buttons.

Let me tell you, I've done a paper on it. So, I'm going to scan.

So, I'm scanning where Earth is D, which is that get me that. And then I'm going to scan from my card in here. And we're going to scan.

We're going to get rid of that one.

Yeah.

The scan red, which is here.

Two points.

Which gets me two points. That gets me two data. Um Oh, I only needed one, but that's that's fine. Uh, and that's my action, I believe. Scanning. Yep. Okie dokie.

I had

good good point chat.

Paul is sending out probes.

Yes,

Steven is doing lots of scanning,

but we can work together.

What's Stuart doing?

That's what the chat he's asking.

I'm just allocating missions for the staff and not doing any of them.

Yeah, that's it.

Stuart Stuart's deciding to go on to missions, but not doing any of those missions.

But he will.

Maybe. You know, he's going to win. Maybe.

So, I think Well,

uh, six publicity.

Yeah.

Everything. Yes.

Has Earth reached?

It has not.

Anomaly? Nope.

Um, I'd like a blue, I think, because because Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

I've got to play some of these cards, haven't I?

I'm going Oh, how many cards have I got? Loads. But I'm going to take this one for two points. uh one publicity and slot that just there and then I'll take another two points.

Just want to just double check that means I've got to get both the separate yellows. I can't get two on one yellow, can I?

No. No, you can. It's It's win two yellow sectors. So you can win this one and this one or you can win this one, this one, this one, this one.

Okay. All right. Cool.

Right.

And a win is when you get the thing at the top.

Yes.

So it could be two tokens there.

Yes.

It's a win in a yellow sector. Not

not a yellow dress. It's a yellow sector. It's to have a token in these spots here. So say you can do

either or two wins in yellow sector or sector. Um,

but you're not winning this one.

No, no, I'm not.

Right. Uh, I'm going to go for a scan. So, one credit, two energy. So, I can scan anywhere.

You scan Earth.

Well, Earth or within

within one of Earth.

Yeah, you can scan there, there, or there.

Yeah. So, I don't know if you know this, Stuart, but the black sectors are very dark, very far away. These are the hardest ones to find in the deck.

Oh, are they?

Cuz the yellow, red, and blue are either five or six signals. These are four and five.

Okay. All right. That's good. But we've only got blue and red out here. This is what I'll go for. Red.

Definitely get a second one in there.

So, your first one is the earth one.

Yep. which is that

and this one. Uh and then yeah, do that. Uh

is a red card.

This one.

You want to use your scan token?

Um got blue and there's no blues going on at the moment. So I won't start. I may come and join you.

Uh I'd like to go second and get more points in you. But this one I can spend one energy to launch. Is that right

now? Yes.

Or move a probe.

Got a probe. Yeah, that's the first one I've launched. So that one.

Oh, so when you do a scan,

you can spend one energy to do a probe or something.

Yes.

When I do a scan, I can

Oh, yes. So,

I'll do an extra one.

So, I could get

So, might one of those

and then is that scan

and then Yes. So, then you said have a red one.

It's another one of those.

I guarantee you get that one.

Not yet cuz there's an overflow space here. Oh, you could get the last one.

Well, Paul could put

Oh, sorry. It's Paul that one.

Yeah,

but I could jump in as well just to close it, but I wouldn't go for the

And does this count at the launch for that?

Yeah, you launch.

Have a card. Random card. So, here's what we're going to do. No, we're not. Oh, go on.

Got so many cards in hand and it's it's deciding which ones

remember you're going to loot.

I know which ones I want to keep,

which ones I want to throw away to get stuff. I'm not going to be able to get to the six publicity. Oh, well, actually Possibly, very possibly maybe.

Okay. And the anomaly is about to move here, which is pink. So that's you a bonus. And the way to get pink traces

is scanning.

Is scanning.

Remember, everything is is colorcoded. Yeah,

pink scanning gets you pink traces.

Which is filling a sector and winning a sector.

Winning a sector gets you a pink trace. So that's probably not going to happen. But I've got this.

Have you?

I do. So I'm going to do it. I need two money. I have no money. So that means I've got to throw away four cards. Four cards for the two money. Is that worth it? Well, you're going to lose the cards in a minute if you pass.

Oh, but

Oh, but

these are so good.

So, when you discard your hand, I'll do it. Okay.

So, it hasn't been a problem.

No, I'm not I'm not going to do that. That's crazy.

I've seen hands of 11 cards and you know, pass and

but when you pass, you can still do the free actions.

Yeah.

So, you don't lose the cards as such. So, I'm I'm going to throw that away for a publicity as a free action. I'm also going to throw that away for a data.

I am then going to put two data into there. And then as my actual action, I'm going to spend an energy and analyze this data.

Right.

Have a blue trace,

which gets me a blue trace.

So that's not looking particularly good.

It's not overly enticing. Although it is a card. Does that card make sense for you?

No, this one does. So I'll go here and I'll have four points. Four points.

Four points. Put me on 41. And I'm going to take that guy.

Oh, launchy Mclaunch. Launch.

Yeah.

Oh, nice. Done.

Okay.

Did I do that? Did I do that? Uh, I think what I am going to do is now do that.

Swap that one for that one.

Oh, doing your free action.

Yeah.

Yes.

Uh, when you're scanning, can you put more than one marker in the overflow space or just one? I think you can put any number.

As many as you like.

Yeah.

Usually one is sufficient. Usually. Um then I'm going to suck that credit

and then that with that one credit I'm going to play that card and show you three energy cards.

Yep.

And gain three energy.

Nice.

Okay. Yep. All finished.

Mhm.

I will use two of my data. Go on here. Get two points and one income.

Two points in earth credit.

And then I will do a scan. That's two energy and a credit.

Where's your first scan going?

First scan. I will finish this one

there. Okay. So,

second scan.

Second scan will be yellow or blue.

Let's get rid of that yellow.

Do you want this one, Stu?

Yes, please.

And then scan again with your scan token.

Scan token. Yeah. Scan yellow.

Another yellow. Uh, can I use a free action in the middle of scanning?

Yes.

Okay, that one goes there.

Yeah, free actions.

Place that for one publicity. And I've done the scan here. So, I can scan another yellow. And two points for that one as well.

I got you two points.

Two points are done.

Okay.

Yes. So, three actions can be before, during, or after.

And you've also got this.

Oh, yeah. Move. Ah,

move or look. Oh, no. Can't have a sake probe.

Move. But

into the asteroids or here.

Yeah. Um

so yellow rotates next,

right? Okay.

Which argument about this people say you should

shouldn't do this, but there's no harm. So there's there's nothing there. So if it wrote on a rotation

Oh, right. See what's there.

See what's there. Yes. But you can always look in the rule book.

Yeah. Exactly.

Oh, you're moving there. He is moving. You are moving there. Right. Oh, I could move one more, couldn't I? If I got rid of a card.

You can,

but that will cost you two to leave the office. Wait till next time.

All done.

All done.

So, this is fully scanned.

Yep.

Oh, yeah.

So, green and purple get publicity. Yeah.

Green wins the sector.

Yes. Purple is second.

Win with a pink trace.

Uh, so go here or here. That gives me two points. That one. Oh, it's moving there. Next. Just sneak in the top.

Pink. Yes.

Publicity. I do like publicity. That one. Oh, scan in any sec though. I'll go for that.

Two points. Two points, please. I go. Yep.

I think I might be discarding a card for stuff and passing because I've got no no thing left. Haven't got the data. Haven't got the thing to do with scan. Haven't got the publicity. So, it's which one of these do I want to throw away because I want all of them

where you can't have them.

So, I'm going to ditch this one which gets me one point and one data. at one point one data

pass

pass

rotate

rotate yellow so what happens here

just moves

it

it just it stays there

and I get one of these and then I'll do my income

okay

OMG that's amazing that's also amazing oh Oh, this is the promo. I've forgotten I'd got the promo. Pluto.

It's the Pluto promo.

There are another two promos as well. Yes. Gateway to Mars.

CG. Please can I have the promos?

Gateway to Mars, I think, was a Dice Tower exclusive. So, only it only came available at Essen this year.

Oh, okay.

So, it is available. Oh,

okay.

And I can't remember.

Yeah. Really nice. That's a bit rubbish. So

it's cool thing.

I think I will also a pass. So when I pass I get a launch and that completes that mission.

Okay. And does that spin it around again if you

No, no, no. It's only the first Oh, is it?

Oh, sorry. Yes, first player. So, the next move is over here.

All right. Right on to me. Right.

Two. Three.

Okay. I have chosen a card.

And I'll do my income. Oh, did I I forgot to do my free action.

Do it.

Yeah, I'll do my free action first. It would have been before

yellow rotated, it was going to be into there and it was going to be to there. Right. And then yellow rotated.

Yeah. Okay.

Right. Yeah.

You don't have to move both of them.

No, I wanted to.

You wanted to.

I did want to. Yeah.

Um Yeah, sure.

Right. Uh,

do I want to? It's when you first pass, that's when you discount.

Pink anomaly bonus taken or not? No, we forgot. Pink anomaly bonus.

Stuart.

Stuart gets it.

I told you get four points. Told you the easiest one to remember to forget.

Yes. And I can wait until everybody else passes to choose your card. Yes, I could have done, but you

I was hassling you. Yeah,

but use that card for a movement. Move onto there and get one publicity.

You can one discarded three. I don't know whether to use that or not. Yeah, I'm going to use that one for Oh, that's one of these guys there for two publicity. That one. He likes his publicity.

Mhm.

I wonder.

These are your cards, aren't they? These are my cards there.

I got

Right. And then I can do an upgrade. So, let's go for

spend five.

Spend five.

Rotate orange.

Oh, we're off again.

Oh, rats.

Well, that means this card that I was about to like Yeah.

Uh, that one I haven't got yet. So, I'm just looking which ones have Let's go for this one. Take that because it gets me one energy.

Get you an energy.

One goes there and one energy. And then I can there that there income goes in there. One credit. Spend these two.

I'm sure I've just got say Oh, yeah. If I have no cards in my hand, y

mission is complete.

Mission is complete. Yeah.

So, that just gets tucked.

Even though there's no question mark, you can still have that one if you wish.

Okay. I think this one right now. I can do a scan.

It is. So, how's your week?

It's not got a few good stuff.

What's that one doing there? That was from the the card that just came off. So, those are all returned. Going for one energy. I do a blue scan. It gets me a card. Let's What's this one? Yeah, let's go for that. two points

and I just

you can have that card or that card.

Gain the rule point that normally which is to be triggered next. Uh so that one which get me data what I'm going to do.

Yep.

I'm going to put that there

just to remind us. So when we move So when we do that rotation, we're going to trigger an anomaly.

Lastly, I will play that card.

We're not

cuz it'll move here.

So it's the next that rotation.

Oh, when you do that rotation.

Sorry. Oh, put it here.

Yeah.

So that's not going to trigger it, but that is going to trigger it.

Yes. Yeah, that seems like

that might help us.

It might do. This is the most difficult one to remember, I find.

Are you still going, Stuart?

I've just played this card for one credit. Gain the reward from the anomaly, which is going to be triggered. Next, I get one data.

Yep.

And then I will

And then you need to have one of each type of trace. So, you need a yellow

for that species.

Yes. You need to land somewhere. And he's got a probe.

He does.

I do have a probe. I just

pass the right pass.

Thank you. Just keep one. Get rid of one. That's really good.

Um, can I have another credit, please? Thank you. And

another two energy. Have you had your cards in comfortable?

I have. Yeah, I'm all done. I've been a planning.

And I get my scan token back. Can you put me up for one publicity, please?

Right. Well, I need to do that before that,

but I can't. Right.

And I had data. I have one more.

Thank you.

Right, Paul, you've got the first player marker

and we are ready to start for round four. Yes. Oh boy. Oh boy. Oh boy. All right. Where's Neptune? Neptune's miles. Wow. More than miles, isn't it?

It's a few miles. Where else should I land?

Right. Well, I'm never going to use that cup. Okay. So, here's what we're gonna do.

New card for this one. Oh yeah. Right. I'm going to play. I'm going to do my free action first before I forget. So free action is I'm going to move that to here. Gets me a publicity. It does. And we're going to move that to there.

Uh also for a publicity

because of your technology.

Oh, I forgot about that. So every time I

go into an asteroid

go into an asteroid field, I get a publicity. find them extremely

I think I may have forgotten that earlier. I'm going to have another one because I did go into one and yeah, completely forgot that.

Then for two credits, I'm going to play the Great Observations Project. Sorry, the Great Observatories Project. And because I've played a card that costs two credits.

Oh, we can take your card.

Have a card.

That is a mission. Oh,

you can have these.

And that mission is done.

Oh, get off.

Wow. Three scab. Yeah. Nice.

Just bear in mind you can only use two maximum.

Right. So I'm choosing up to three probes. Yours or other players is

I have one.

For each probe, mark a thing in its sector.

How many? Three. How many are you marking?

Marking. Choose up to three probes.

Three. So one, two, three. Let's say one, two, three. Yes. So, I will choose that one. And I'll choose this one

cuz it's coming up.

And I'll choose that one. Spread it out a bit.

Okay. Right. So, that's the card done. And I did my free action. And that's Yeah.

Happy. Uh, might not go that far, but Yeah. Yeah. Okay.

All right. So, I ought to go scanning again because that's what we do.

That's what you do.

Uh, so

the chat's gone quiet, which means we've not made any mistakes for

Oh, throwing it on the floor. Sorry.

Throwing your data on the floor.

Well, there's one energy. One credit.

There you go.

There's another energy. Found that one.

Uh, we will scan. Earth is here.

Earth is here. Yeah. So,

two points.

Two points.

Milestone at the end of your turn.

Um, what else? We want yellow to do this one. Do I want anything else?

There is a black sector. So I will use that.

Another two points.

Another two points. Then I'm going to discard this alien card for its black sectorness to go here. More data.

All done.

Yes. So we'll close this one off. So

Oh yeah.

Publicity. publicity win.

Oh, yes. So, keep one there in second.

I'm second again.

You are.

Steven, you get to put

But I think in our play through you were second a lot.

Was I?

Yes. But you um

won.

He did win. Yeah.

Okay.

He did what you just did on the very last row round and scored 50 points or something. Did we get the publicity for this?

Yes, we did. Uh, and what am I getting? Uh, pink trace.

Pink trace.

Pink trace. What's going on with pink? Two points.

There's two points there and a publicity. So, I'll have the two points.

Oh, and you stole into spot.

And the public was the publicity is more important right now. Uh, but I did a scan. So that's another completed mission

uh which is four points and I will select that one.

Just beat me to it.

Good.

Yeah,

cuz I need to tuck an energy and that's 22 points.

Yeah. Yeah. Nice. Sure.

Right. I'm going to go for the land. Send a land out for two energy.

Whereabouts?

Uh I've only got one out Venus.

Yeah. So you land on Venus. You get five points. You get two data. I'll do your points. And you get a yellow trace.

Yellow trace. And then also that one's triggered

because you've landed. So another three points

in the lead.

And I put this one. Yeah. I'm going to take four points. Another four points

and this card.

Yeah.

And then

and you now have a trace of each color on that species for another three points.

And two publicity.

Two publicity. Milestone time.

Oh, another milestone. So, that one can go.

Uh, I mean, you've got that

traces. Yeah,

you've also got that. You've got this once and you've got that once.

Get another But you're probably going to get that more.

In fact, that that's complete.

Yeah,

go for the mark conditionals, whatever they are, the

missions and end game

missions.

So, if you've got ones with gold banners, they can

like this.

All done.

Yes.

Right. So, I'm spending six publicity. Going to move that to

tell you what. Sorry, keep forgetting this. Can I do that and grab that card? Yeah,

cuz I want the scan tokens.

Can I place this one?

No, no, no, no, no. One of these is coming over.

Oh, it's your Sorry. Yeah,

that's from before.

So, because I can't

Sorry, Paul. What did you do on your turn?

I'm getting some more

upgrade. Okay. Yeah.

Which of those cards do I want? Need

two more if any. Oh. Hello.

Yours?

Yeah. Right. Done. Back to you.

Back to me already.

Mhm.

Wait a second. What are we going to do now? We better do that. And then for no credits or no energy analyze for a blue trace. Oh, that's hilarious.

So, I can go here or a card and a but I might as well go there for two points.

Two points and a

and a publicity.

The poor amoeba. Nobody's interested in amoeba. But if you get a yellow on ammo amoeba that's amazing.

I'm not landing though.

Oh yeah, me.

Uh hang on. Sorry.

Sorry. Yeah, you carry on.

A blue trace. Another completed mission. Another four points. Um,

chat is still quiet.

Yeah.

Let us know if you're still here and watching just just because I'm nervous about whether we're actually still live or not.

Yes, sure.

Maybe they've all been abducted by aliens. Maybe we're the only humans left on the planet.

Maybe they've been

for that one.

Uh, two points. One credit.

One publicity. Table. Can you just put my green publicity up one? Oh, actually, never mind. Put it back down because I'll spend it to gain a card. Um, which pop it back up.

Yeah, cuz you're taking a card. He's up. He's down.

All right. And then let's

The cat is working. Yes. Excellent.

Two more in. Get my upgrade. I can tuck a card. That one's quite good. I want all these cards now. Maybe I won't do that big yet. Hopefully get another card in a bit. Uh, so I'm going to go and play this card, which is cost of two, which is a scan action. So I do the scan and then in addition, I can mark a sector with the anomaly which is being triggered next, which would be this one.

Yes. Yes. Do that first. Just get that done last. So that one goes in. You get two points for that. All right. And then the scan. So I can scan where Earth is.

Any of these three.

Let's let's get involved in all of them. I think join in with everyone else.

And then you can scan either yellow, black, or red.

Black.

Black. Finish it off.

Black.

Well, yeah, but I

would win. Yeah, I get second place.

But you get publicity. You would get second place and you would get the you we all get the publicity for it. So that's an option.

Otherwise, it's

yellow or red.

Yellow.

Yellow.

Yeah, I do want to finish yellow.

Red.

You do need to finish yellow.

Uh, no, that's all right. I will go for Let's go for black.

Black. Yeah.

Data for you. Let's use data in there. And then uh which ones? Oh, this one. I can do a blue. Complete that one. Do a blue. Um

so to take control of that one.

Yeah, let's do this one. Oh, I couldn't finish. No, there wasn't a blue there. Thank you.

All right. Uh last thing is I can then launch. Spend more energy to launch. Yeah, because you currently don't have a probe on the bottom. Need it. And that's done. That one can go.

Done.

Done.

So, publicity for everybody. Put that back. You will be in second place. I will get two points. Pink trace.

Pink trace.

I mean, it's not bad.

It's not bad.

It's Well, the only thing is you just somebody has got to go up here to beat me on pink.

So, I will go for this one.

So, it's a it's a net three points.

Yeah.

And then that rotates to there

and a card. And

and a card. Right, Margo.

Yep.

So, I was going to have an awesome turn

and now you're not.

I think I might still have an awesome turn.

Okay.

But there's there's different options. There's there's a lot of different options now. So, here's what here's what I think I'm going to do

and then we'll go through a bit and I might change my mind.

Okay,

I just need to make sure I got these mission cards correct. So I am going to spend an energy to move out of here cuz I can to here to Saturn publicity

which gets me publicity cuz I take a photo of Saturn.

Yep.

Then my action is going to be doesn't work.

Oh wow. Your whole like launching platform completely.

I was going to land on Titan but there isn't an orbiter there so it's going to cost two energy and I don't have two energy.

You can spend the cards. I could throw cards away.

You got any that give you energy?

I got No, but I got two cards. So, I throw away two cards that I don't want.

Uh, where are you landing?

Saturn.

So, Titan,

right? So, you'll need two energy. So, four cards. No, no,

you've got one there. Sorry.

So, I throw those two cards away for an energy. I then land on the moon of Titan, which I'm allowed to do because of this

seven points.

So, it gets me seven points, but it gets me

any two traces and I'll be doing a milestone at the end of my turn.

Very good.

The milestone is going to be that.

Yeah.

No, it's not.

It It might not be. It might not be. Right. Two traces. So, I'm going to have yellow here.

Uhhuh. So that's

So one point,

five points.

You're going for that as well. Yeah, sure.

So five points,

one card,

one

and a card.

And another card.

And another card

and a data.

Yep.

Right.

So that one's fine. That goes there.

Yeah.

Does that one jump

jumps to there?

And then this one there. And then that goes to there.

Or does that one jump there?

Because you do them. It says if you do um if gaining all of the bonuses from a section move all organels that were present simultaneously. Yeah. Um and there's an example. And yeah, that's right. Cool. Okay. And then my second trace

is going to be so it could be anywhere. It's literally just any two traces anywhere I want. But I'm thinking pink is looking good. So I'm going to go pink here.

Rard,

which is four points.

Yep. One, two, three, four, and a data, which goes in there, which gets me a publicity, and a card, which is going to be this one. And then that goes there, and that goes there. Right. And I think that's it.

You think that's it?

I think that's it.

Okay. These cards. How many cards did you say was the most you've seen in somebody's hand?

I think I think I've had 11 at one point. Um,

nine.

Um, I don't think I won that game though,

right? I will.

Pink traces you get from scanning.

Yes. So, I think I need to close this one off. So, it's scanning again. Two and one. So, Earth is here. So, I get to scan this one.

Was that two traces? It was two traces. Yeah. On Titan, it's only seven points, but any two traces. Um, one of these. We got red, red, yellow, and black.

milestone.

Yes, milestone.

I forgot to do my milestone. Um I was thinking of this one because I've got that once.

Yep.

But I've actually also got that once.

Almost close to having that twice. So, we go with that one.

You got it once.

So, I've got pink, yellow, blue, and extra pink and then extra blue. Extra pink and extra yellow. If I get one more blue, which I'm about to do from this.

And I'm going to have to play this one. Nice alien card for a blue signal. Go there. Apparently, there are yellow traces to be had in this game. I

They're on the planets.

Where?

Come here. It's lovely.

Okay. Um, cool. Done. Publicity for everybody.

Yeah,

you've got too much now, Stuart.

Nice. I like that.

Sorry, Paul. What was that? Was that on for?

I'm not sure.

It's there now.

Um, yep. And then Paul, you going to have that back

for nothing? Yep. Well, for the publicity, you win it. I get a pink trace in a second. Pink trace. What do we like now? Pink. What's that? Honestly,

but it is.

Is that five points?

It is five points.

It's five points.

So, we'll take five

milestone

and no missions, but Oh, you're not going to do that? Oh, yeah.

I'm going to do that.

Going to do that for a publicity.

Yeah, I think you might do something that I want to do.

Probably not.

Oh, good.

I'm going for

I will take all good.

Two points. Ben, do I want to tuck a card? I kind of do. I

have no energy. So, I'm going to tuck a card or an energy, which just got me another 11 points at the end of the game.

Yeah. Nice.

Energy.

Energy.

Okay. Well done.

Done.

Just pop these here because we can't see anything. There you go.

So, you

uh I'm going for an upgrade.

You spend five.

Spend five. And because of that, we now know

that's going to trigger a

an anomaly,

which was me at some point, but somebody's still

too far. Too far. There you go.

So, it's the blue anomaly. So, whoever's the highest on the blue,

Steven.

Steven

data. You get a data.

I'm going to add that data.

All right. And then one, two, three away. There we can.

There you go. That works.

All right. Uh I need Oh, we need a new card here. We do. So that's why that's why it wasn't

Oh, there's fine. Yeah, there's fine. As long as it's not below there.

Okay,

that's good.

All right. So, do need an energy, which gets me. This one gets me an energy or that one.

So, that's the publicity for going into asteroids.

Yeah, which is quite good.

And we got your your milestone.

Oh, my milestone. Uh, it's going to be this one, I think, because I'm not doing that because I can't do yellow.

Yeah.

And I'm now down to three. It's probably going to be three points. That's it.

And the other one is pay one publicly and you scan where Mercury.

Okay.

And just so you know, Mercury is always opposite Earth.

Mhm.

Are they okay? Yeah. Okay, that's good.

Um, publicity is really good for me. Go for that upgrade. And

was that gaining a publicity?

No, that's if I go for the

gain that one energy.

Okay,

I've got my one energy and that's me done.

Right, I am going to put some data into the computer.

That goes on there. That goes on there. That gets me an energy. Then I'm going to put some more data into the computer.

And then we're going to spend that energy to run the computer.

Oh, look at this. I'll get a blue trace and it'll be there.

Nice. Should go here.

Yeah. So, that's going to get me all of this.

So, it's two points, a publicity

and a data. And then that goes to there. Those go to there

and a card.

And a card, which is going to be that one. So, that was my actual action which didn't do any of that stuff or didn't do any of that stuff. That's fine. Yep. We're all good, are we?

Yeah. Castle in hand. Okay. Uh, six publicity rotate orange, which is that one. Sure. and then

can't have that one. Well, I guess I can. Just gets me a card. Energy. Pretty rubbish at publicity. So, maybe I'll take this one. Five points. That can go there. Two points. Uh, yes. Thank you, Stuart.

Okay. Um, oh, sorry. No, no, no. I won't I will Sorry. I beg your pardon. No, you carry on. You carry on. Just ignore me. Yes.

So, if I do the upgrade here, do I have to tuck a card or is it optional?

You do not.

No, it's all optional.

I think it's the only thing in the game.

You can just You can just put a data on there and choose not to do it cuz everything else you would want to do because it's gaining something. It is. But that is costing you a card. The

card you want is the one you want to play.

Yeah. Okay. Um, right. So, I'm going to spend two credits to play this one. Scan in a sector with Mercury and use two data first since I get two back. Two. I'm not going to tap one of those. Maybe I should.

Yeah, why not? Cuz I'm not going to have any money left anyway.

Yeah. Uh, and then scan to uh tra gets me two points. I go. Yeah. Right. I'm going to spend all of that lovely publicity

again.

Rotate the galaxy or the solar system. And I'm going to take this one. Two points. So that gets me two points. It gets me a card.

take that card. Now that goes in wherever I want it to go.

Mhm.

I'm actually going to put it in there. And that was my action.

Okay. So

yeah,

10 cards in hand.

One credit

almost at 11.

One credit, two movement, which is simply going to be And then if I visit Mercury,

if you visited Mercury, which you didn't,

which I didn't.

Yeah.

And then I'll spend

You went in the opposite direction to Mercury.

One energy to go there. Mercury. I It's around here somewhere. I'm fine.

He's off.

Yeah.

You finding planet 10?

No. Planet. Planet Pluto.

Oh, you got the Pluto card.

No, it's not a planet.

I was going to say I had a I had the Pluto card.

Yes. No, you chose not to take it. You gave it to me,

did I? Oh, it was in the thing, was it? Ah, right. Okay. I was going to say unless I've got multiple Pluto cards,

right? So, Pluto is that little white. Oh, no. That's That's a bit of dandruff. Uh, it's there.

Yeah. Okay. So, I'm going to use data there and do the analyze.

Okay.

Have a blue trace. Uh, blue trace. So, three points or three points.

It is three points or three points. However,

that one's at the top.

That's the top.

Three points there.

Three points. That's it.

I have big decision time. Go on.

Sure. Typically, when I teach this game

and somebody's here

on score track and somebody's down here, I always say, "Don't worry.

Don't worry about it.

These gaps are insignificant." And yet, look where we are.

Look where we are.

Well, yes. But here's here's my big decision.

But you're going to get the 25 26 for landing.

Well, that that's the big decision.

Yes. So, I am somehow about to get an energy. I can't remember how. I'm then going to use that energy to land this because thankfully in the round one pregame setup, you've put an orbiter around Uranus.

I told you we're working together. You and me versus Stuart.

So, I could land on 25 points, right? Nice and easy.

Take your final one. One energy for me. Or I could land here. It's only nine points.

Red data data.

It's also a yellow trace. A yellow trace here would be all of this.

Another four points there as well.

I'm tempted to go for that. Even though I took the tech to land on moons,

but I just

I'll do it later.

You and all your pros.

I just don't know if it it is a tricky decision. But the first thing is how do I get that energy?

And I don't have un Oh no. Ah, there. That's what I did. So I put the data in there. Put the data in there. Gets me two points and the energy. Right. So I'm going to use the energy. Now I need to make the decision. What would you do chat?

Oh no. You can't have a play.

No, I am going to ask the chat. I'm going to make my own decision, but I want to know what the chat would do because of this situation. Landing on here is a straight 25 points. That's nice and easy. Here is nine. It's effectively

13.

Call it Call it 14 points.

14 points. Sure.

But it's also four data in a card.

Can I do both?

Just get another pro out. Send it up.

Yeah. I don't think I'll have time. So the question is, do I go for 25 points or do I go for 14 points and four data in a card? Is four data for me worth that many more points? And I'm not sure it is. The chat's gone quiet.

Well done, chat.

Right. I'm gonna go for the stuff.

This stuff.

This This stuff.

Okay.

Not the points.

Not points.

So, I'll go on I'll go on here. So, I get three data.

One, two, three. Right. I get the nine points,

which is a milestone.

I'm going to do the milestone now before I forget.

So, missions or tucks.

Yeah.

Then it's a yellow trace. The yellow trace is going to be here

card

which is going to be the card and all of this which is four points

a data

and a card

and a card and then that goes to there goes to there

and then can we have the final medium? Oh, last one.

Right. Okay. There you go. Decision made. Consider your trace milestone.

That's not

Oh, yes. My trace milestone. Yeah. Yeah. No, that's fine. I've got two of each.

I've got I've got two of each for that. I doubt I'll get three of each, but I might because I'm going to get another blue one for definite. And if it's if I can get another pink one. Okay.

Happy.

Yeah. Happy. I feel I made the right decision.

Okay. So, just put you adding there.

I've also got 12 cards in hand, so I win.

Oh,

I win the game of what's the maximum number of cards you can have in your hand.

All right. So, play Pluto for no credits.

All right. My turn.

Yes.

Um.

All right. I'm just going to play. Let's play put that out for two points, one publicity. Pop me up to

sorry

two on there. And then I'll play the Kepler space telescope for two credits. And I got one movement and I can scan in a sector with one of my probes. So let's move to here, which gets me one more publicity being in there. And then I can scan twice here which is another two points.

Done. That one's done. Oh

yeah. So I got I got no probes on the board.

Well, whose fault is that? You've got your two credits.

I have two credits is a probe.

I've used my special ability though. So even if I get a probe, I don't have the the energy to move it round much.

There's another round coming up.

There is another round.

Oh, there's that. Oh, that's interesting. Oh, okay. Maybe not. Yes, that's getting thrown away. Is that good? Oh, that's amazing. Right, I'm going to play that card. So, it's one credit uh physical characterization of the amoeba. So, I get a card which is going to be that one. And I do a just a yellow amoeba thing which is four points.

Nice.

One, two, three, four. And then that one goes to there.

To there. Oh,

and that's an end of game card. So, I'm going to get two points for each of those.

Oh, wow. That's well

the end of the game.

Very good.

So, I like that.

But nothing for this.

That's me done.

Okay. I think Yeah. Two credits. to have some automated analysis.

So I get three data and the blue which is two points and a mystery card.

Just one. I think you picked one of them.

Oh, it's just one.

So you pick the card.

I'll have the mystery card, please.

There we go.

My turn. I like

you carry on. I'll pass.

Okay. So it rotates which means we've got a

So that gets moved to there.

Uh yellow is Stewart.

So you get

Oh your choice.

Oh, I've just passed about it earlier.

Going on. Yeah. So you would go down to four.

Get attack. I'll go down to

Wait, no, you would go down to four. Yeah. And then guess would happen. So you'd get an extra card.

Five sets of alien races. Wow. What's that?

Have two probes in space. Uh, two different planets except Earth. What's that?

Two credits. Two credits.

Oh, yeah. Obviously, we're just looking upside down.

Yeah, my my mission is Venus. Jupiter. You mean my mission?

I'm a probe. These five spaces from Earth. No good. I'll go for that one. One of these.

I'm going to play on my turn. Breakthrough theory. So, I get three publicity and it's a mission. If I've got one of each trace for this species except for discovery spaces, well, I do have.

Yep.

Then I get one point for each empty space on this species board, which I think is just 1 2 3 4 five.

That will do.

Five is nice.

And that's another card done. Yep. Uh data analyze no energy. I'm going to pop those back up there. Ready for the next round.

Then I'll do my Inca.

That's three points.

Now we are going to have to play quick in the last round cuz Stuart needs to go up four.

That's I'll I'll take

I need to play quick as long as I take pass.

That's true.

Stuart might need to disappear before the game's over. tracker play.

Yeah,

that'll be entertaining. Um,

I know I've been playing a bit slow because there's so many amazing cards and I've had so many of them,

but I'm now running out of stuff.

Uh, Paul, up to you.

Yeah. So, I'm I'm keeping that one. I'm keeping that one. I'm keeping that one. This is so good.

Ste, can you pop me up one publicity, please?

I think I'm going to play that. Yeah. Okay. So, I'm going to play that. I need a money and I'm throwing away those two cards or a money to be able to play this, which allows me to launch a probe. And if it was launched a probe in a sector with an anomaly, it is. Yep.

I get a movement point.

Nice.

So, we'll have a movement point

into the sun

and we will go.

Watch out for my probe. It's the only one I've got.

We'll go here.

Right. Done.

Okay. I am going to scan yet again. So, two energy, two cards. Throwing away an alien card. with the Oh, where are they all gone?

Yeah, they're all gone. That's guarded.

Oh, you've got over there. Yeah.

Uh, so scan with Earth.

Are we doing that right? If the alien cards run out, they run out. You don't reshuffle them.

That's only sufficient.

Yeah.

For the um marks on this on the board. Um, what else have I got?

Uh, oh, yellow, I guess.

Where's yellow?

I'm going to do some stuff just to save time. We'll close that.

Closing mine. Woohoo.

Hang on. Cuz I can get in the overflow space.

Oh, really? I didn't realize you get in the overflow.

Yeah, cuz I can play a card from my hand, which is a yellow card.

And I want this card.

That's cool. I didn't realize about playing spaces. That makes it a lot.

So, I am going to discard that card.

Go there.

I'm going to have to work on another yellow one.

Go there.

I'll take a publicity.

So, I get one publicity.

Yeah. Sorry. Sorry. Forget the So, you get a publicity. I get a publicity for this.

I get pink trace. You get second place.

Thank you. Another pink trace. What all pink's doing? All right. Over here.

Oh, nice.

So, we'll go here for four points, one data, one publicity. You gave me the publicity. I take it all, did you?

I didn't.

For this? Nope. I can't. There you go. And then that that and that. Um and then two points.

Take a card. tuck a card to draw a card and then two points gold now. We'll take that one because I've just got my

Mhm.

Oh, no I haven't. But I will do because all right passed my go. Yep. I've done all sorts of stuff. I' I've put stuff on here. I've got publicity. I've tucked a card. I've gained a card. I've done other stuff. And now I've exchanged cards for money. And now I'm spending the money to play gravitational slingshot. Two movement. And each time you visit a planet this turn, you may gain a movement instead of a publicity. I'm just going to go one, two, and have the publicity.

Sure. I'll pass. I mean, am I in any rush to land on Jupiter now or one of the moons of Jupiter? Probably not. Can do it next turn. Although, get more energy. Wow, it's amazing. Life publicity. It's amazing. There's so many good things on here, isn't there? No, I think I think we're done because I've got four cards. So, I'm okay.

You've done your income, Stuart.

Yep. All done.

These cards.

Oh, you kidding.

What?

Oh, thank you. The card that gives me points for having things at Jupiter.

Okay.

I love that one. Thank you. Please.

There's no hate. I told you the scientific community. We work together.

I'll do my income. One, two, three, four,

two, four, five,

three. Remove that. Three cards and we start the last round and we'll play as quick as we can.

Two.

Apparently, you're not really supposed to get be able to get all of the alien cards. Oh,

no. So, there's a bit of a shuffle. And

how how have we been?

No, no, we haven't got this one. This one's not coming out.

Oh, right. Okay.

There's one left.

Ah, I say. Right. Right, Stephen is your go

seven cards in

third milestone yet.

Not yet.

Uh, okay. Right. Let's have a look at the new cards. Sorry, Stuart. I've got to have these new cards now.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No worries.

Where's Mars? Cool. I need yellow traces for points, but I also need more card tucks for points. I also need more scanning.

Right. First things first, let's I need two publicity. There's two publicity. Yep. Spend six, please. Rotate orange. Um, spend the six. Do that. Let's have the cheaper landing, which is which one?

This one.

Getting you a publicity.

Yep.

All done.

Yep.

Cheers. Go.

And I'm going to play James Web Space Telescope for two credits.

One movement.

One movement which I'm going to move Yeah.

Getting your publicity

and then I scan in sectors with one of your probes and in neighboring sectors

and in both neighboring sectors.

Use that credit that one in there.

Good old James Web.

That one in there.

So you get these three.

Yes. Two points there.

Two points.

Two points there.

Two points.

And then that one's complete. Sorry. Throw more at you. There you go.

Which gets you a blue one.

No second place though.

But you get five points.

But you do get a a blue

five points and a pink

pink trace. So no, you get five points.

It's just five points.

It's just five points.

Ah.

So I'll take one of your markers back.

Thank you.

Yeah, the trace has been found in that far away.

Uh, which milestones left? Don't want the cards one. So, I will go for third place on the traces one, please. Okay, I go.

Yep. Going to throw that away for one publicity, which gives me six. So, they spend that publicity. We rotate round, which is going to trigger an anomaly. Yeah, that token is working. Um, we're rotating blue. Blue rotate round. We trigger the anomaly. It's pink.

You're highest on the pink.

Uh, I've got four points.

Four points. Nice. Uh, right. And then it is now one, two, three away. So, one, two, three away. And the tech that I'm taking is this one,

which gets me three points. One, two, three. And I'm going to put it in there. And then I'm going to put a data on it for another two points. And that's my go dump. Okay. I would like to land, please. on Pluto.

Where is it?

Here it is.

All right. Okay. It's

quite small. Yeah.

Um

11 points.

So 11 points, four data,

and three publicity.

No, no, that's orbiting.

All right. Okay.

Uh but I do get a yellow trace.

Ah, he's got a yellow trace.

I've got a yellow trace,

which is another points, just six points. Yeah.

Uh three. Yeah, it's one there

and you get a card.

And I get a card

and then that goes Ah, so these move simultaneously.

Okay.

So I think that what that means is that goes to there and that goes to there.

Yeah,

because they move simultaneously.

Okay.

I think the question then would be does that

go first and then that one jumps over.

Sure.

Yes, you're right. I did visit Jupiter. Thank you very much. I'm over data.

Oh, and I've got a yellow trace. Yeah.

Another data.

Thank you for spotting it. It's my turn. Yep. I I'm going to go for scan.

Okay. So, one point, two energy.

So, scan. Let's put these down as well.

So, your your scan is

Yeah, these are here. Then I can get rid of this yellow. Let's scan here again. Then I can move move my probe. Let's move it to there. Actually, maybe move ahead. What's moving next? Yellow. This one's moving next.

Yes.

Go there.

No. Done. Done. I'm going to spend one energy and I'm going to land this probe on Jupiter. But we're not going to land on Jupiter. We're going to land on Ganymede. Ganymede is worth 12 points.

Five publicity.

And five publicity.

Done.

Just so you know, Stuart, um if you gain more publicity than 10, you you lose the excess. Yeah.

But there's always this free action here, which is spend three to pick up a card.

That was you, Paul.

Okay. I probably need to scan somehow. It's here. I can't close a section, which is disappointing.

So, I think we will just fill that We just do that for the moment. I'll spend zero energy or a blue trace, which is probably this one.

Nice.

For four points.

Big mistake. Oh, yeah.

One publicity.

Yes, Paul. One data.

I'll tell you what I've done. Okay. Okay. When it's my turn.

Uh, rotate. And then we think these go.

Yeah. And then onto there.

I have my turn.

So, just quickly, I undid my turn. Instead of spending one energy to land.

Yep.

I played Europa Clipper. Spent two money to land instead.

Yes.

Cuz that's the end of game.

Yes. Yes. That's all fine and dandy.

Uh, what was I doing again? It's my turn, isn't it? Yeah.

Yeah. Do a scan one energy. Oh, no. An upgrade. That's what I was meant to be doing. Um, um, just trying to figure out I need an upgrade with an energy. That's that one here.

It's that one energy. Do that. The second energy. All done.

All done. Two energy to play the Jupiter exploration program. Scan twice in the sector with Jupiter.

Oh, wait. Did we move the

I did.

Yeah.

Yeah, that one got done. Gets me two points and

two marks,

two things, and that gets me another game scoring. Oh, no, it's not. It's just a mission that if I have something at Jupiter, I get four points.

Okay.

All right. So this time I will scan for two energy, one credit, one credit. Scan from Earth. There's an air. Oh no, it doesn't do what I want it to do. How annoying.

done.

No,

no, sorry.

Because I was looking for a pink trace to finish this one off and that's not going to cut it. And I can't close that. Oh, blast. All right, let's not do that. I'll have my energy back and my credit. Sorry, Stuart.

It's all right. No worries.

That can go back there. That can go back there. Um,

I need to launch a probe maybe. I will spend two credits, launch a probe. Late in the game, I know

it is.

Uh, and then I will. Yeah. One energy to move.

one card to move. One publicity, right? Uh I will spend one energy to do um data analysis. Uh put a trace out on a blue. So two or three.

Yeah. Yeah. So, you're down to this now.

Yeah.

But do you want to stay top?

Let's stay top.

Three points.

Three points.

One, two, three.

I'm also spending one of those to analyze this data and it's going to be a blue trace. So, it's going to be here.

Two points.

Can you pop me one publicity, please?

I can do my

All right. I am going to land on Mars. First one there. Two energy.

We've ignored Mars.

Yeah,

there's other games about Mars.

Sure. So, I'm going to land on Mars, which is two data, one there, one there. Um, six points. Yellow trace. What have we got left? Oh, we'll take that one. So it's all of that

four points.

Yeah, we planned that very well very well.

Four points for publicity under data.

Data can go there for another public. So that's two publicity in all. Okay, I'll just take another two points. 100

That one ticket, right? I'm going to play Twin Probes, which cost me three credits. Rotates the board. Uh, rotates. Yeah.

Yeah. Orange.

And then I get to pick a tag, which Let's grab that one, which gets me one publicity

and a probe.

Two probes.

It launches a probe as well.

Oh, does it? Great.

Didn't you realize that?

Oh, and then I can spend an energy to move it

onto Mars.

Yeah. So, the fact you've got one here.

Yeah.

The two thing automatically kicks in even though it's you haven't turned the tile over.

Yeah. Just think so. Pay one energy. If I go to Mars. Um, yeah, let's do that. And that gets me one publicity. I think this is have two probes in space. Two different planets.

Right. So, one energy. And can you pop me up one more publicity, please, Stephen? And that's my turn. Done. So, I'm throwing two cards away to get a credit and then playing that card for a credit,

which gets me something in pink. One thing is it?

Yeah, one thing in pink. I'm going to take the data from pink. I got some data. Then it's an end game card that gets me two points for every pink trace on that species. But that's only two points. But then I've got the data. Go on. I can do that on my next turn. Well, I'll do it while you're doing your things.

Sure.

Took a card for income. Get me the thing. give me six, right? Okay. Three credits remaining. Let's go suck a card.

Take the one for a credit. Two points. I want the two publicity data despair. Two publicity.

one of those and then analyze the data.

Add another blue trace.

Only there was a endgame scoring for blue traces.

Um, so all I've got left is

I'll go two points, but I'll go to the top. Uh, two points. My turn. Uh, let's go do my free action to spend one publicity to gain a card, which

spend. Oh, yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. This one.

Is that a publicity back chance? No.

That gets me a movement. No.

Yeah. Gets you a movement.

Movement. And

have you got the Yeah. So, you can get your publicity back by going there

if you want to go to the asteroids.

What's moving next? blue this one. Okay, let's move I think. Yeah, that's it. Okay. Um then do a card for my free action and then I will do a scan action. So that one to get an energy and then I spend one coin, two energy, do scan. So I can scan one and let's go

earth or either side.

That one for the two coins

and card yellow.

So three points. Oh, then I can move again. Okay. So, if I move this one to here, that gets me one publicity.

Uh, and that's it. And then I've just got to do the trace. Yeah.

You've also now done that.

I've done that one. So, that's four points. Four points. Publicity

and a publicity. You're green. Yeah. Done.

Okay. So, not long left.

No,

literally Stuart needs to be disappearing any minute now.

We're getting there.

I have six publicity. So, I spend the six publicity that rotates, which rotates blue, which triggers this anomaly. You're the highest on the track. So, you get a data. Now techwise I'm going to take I think so that one is the second one which allows me to spend publicity

to scan where Mercury is.

Yeah. So I'll do that wherever Mercy is.

You one energy.

So I get one energy.

Two points.

I get two points and that goes in there. And that is my turn. I will also spend six to rotate yellow.

You did want to head back that way, did you?

I just want I just want points now. I think I'll take three points. Tuck that there. Tuck that there. Two points.

Just realized I need an orbit or a lander there. Two left. Okay. Um, one move to Mercury. Um, oh, what have we got? Data. Uh, so if I go for an upgrade, it cost you five.

Yeah.

Orange.

And I get this one here. Gets me one energy. One energy.

You done?

Done.

Right. I'm going to scan. Cost one credit. Cost two energy. First of all, I sc Oh, no. It doesn't work. I I took the wrong upgrade. Grommet.

It's just science.

I took the wrong upgrade. Just science.

Meant to take that one. Oh, it doesn't work. Right. So, I'm throwing a card away for one publicity and then spending that one publicity to scan where Mercury is. Using my thing, right, which then goes on there for two points, I then scan where Earth is. And unfortunately, I Yeah.

Right. I need to complete something.

Yeah. I've been trying to do this.

I've been trying to do that, which I can get one on.

Yeah.

But that's not going to be enough.

No.

So,

cuz Earth isn't playing ball.

No. Is it?

Nope.

So, I'll just

Stuart with his wide radio telescope.

I'll just take that for that for another another data

in a sec sector with one of your I don't have any probes. Probes are so pass.

Um, cool.

Fine. Yeah, I'll spend that.

No.

Yeah, I did have to take a card.

Okay. I because I can't Well, I could do the scanning. Would that annoy Stuart?

No.

No,

I'm not scanning.

But I could play this one. I kind of want to play this one because I' I've never seen it played.

Okay.

Previously. So, I'm going to play this one. It's going to cost me four credits.

Four credits?

I'm afraid so,

Spencer.

It is the first human in space. It is Mr. Gagarin.

All right. So, I get 10 publicity. So, I lose that one. But then I get one point for each publicity remaining.

Oh, at the end of the game.

At the end of the game. So it does. So I've got three completed missions here plus that one. So that's

Yeah,

some points.

Nicely done.

All right, I'm going to play that to move and move to Mercury there gets me one publicity. I've got two probes in space on two different planets. Yep.

Gets me two credits. That one's complete. Uh, and then I'm going to land. Well, do an orbiter.

Mhm.

Because I got one energy left.

Well, orbiter is this one.

Oh, yeah.

Putting something in orbit.

That's it.

Around Mercury or Mars?

Around Mercury.

So, orbiter around Mercury

goes here.

Yeah.

Gets you three points.

And another four for that.

Seven points.

Nice. Seven points. and gets you two traces where Mercury two scans where Mercury is

here

and a card and took a card for income.

So that one. So you're here and here.

Sorry, Paul. But I didn't do it.

I know.

Sorry. Here and

and the Yeah.

Nice.

Okay. And you took a card. Bring them if you want to.

Done Stewart. Uh

yeah. Done. You get publicity. I get publicity. You get

three points.

Paul gets second.

Right. I'm going to have to go.

Yeah.

But can you just play that card for me at the end?

Stu's got to disappear. Thank you very much, Stuart.

Yeah. Very sorry I can't stay for the end.

No, no, no. We we Yeah, there's a lot going on.

Tune in when I get back.

Apparently, there's a YouTube channel you can catch up with.

Yeah, I'm going to jump on that soon. So, should be able to play that, I think.

Right. You're going to play that. Cheers then, Stuart.

That'll be it for me.

Thanks, Stuart.

Thank you very much. Right. Good luck. I'm running my computer, which gets me a blue trace, which uh at this stage is not worth going for the two points here. So, I will just go for the the three points here. One, two, three.

Where's Mars gone? It's over there. Okay.

All right. I keep it. And then I'll I'll I'll discard that card for a data, which I will then put onto there for two points.

Okay.

Yeah, I'm at the point where I

All right. So, I'm going to spend three of my precious points.

Uh

Oh, yeah.

to take a card. I I don't care what it is

because I'm going to Oh, hang on.

I do care.

You do care what it is.

Yeah, because Oh, I've seen this one now, so I'll take it. So, just realized I still I'm gonna have to spend another three ball.

That's three points.

Six points. That is

take this one. And then I'm going to spend one, two, three, four,

four,

coins. Uh, you get too many.

So, I play this card,

right?

Which marks two

two traces in the Mars, which is here, which is two points. So, you get two points back.

Two points back. Oh, there. Yeah, lovely. Thank you. Um, but then I've got a lander at Mars, so I get four points.

Oh, so you're broken even on the points.

Hang on.

Yeah.

Uh, four points gets me there.

Yeah.

So, that's another mission, but I can't get another mission to double it up.

Then I can do one publicity.

Yeah.

Which is a point.

Two points.

Which is points.

Which is points. Yeah,

which is points and then nothing else h happens. I have got no cards to tuck.

So there Stuart wanted to

I think Stuart had dropped out. I think Stuart No, he he he concedes.

Well, here's here's a big comeback. So he's playing that one for one publicity

and puts something into orbit, which will be this one.

Mars goes into orbit. Three points.

Three points. One, two, three. He gets a card.

He chooses a card.

We'll just give him

What does he want?

I don't know.

Give him a card that gives Yeah, fine.

Maybe

that gives him data. Maybe

maybe you can do missions.

He scans Mercury. Sorry. Scans Mars.

Then gain one data for every

Hang on. We got sorry the bonuses for

Mars

going into orbit around Mars which is that

sucks a card for income which he doesn't well he does have because he's just picked this up. So he could tuck this one

is he he's not here.

He's not there.

So he doesn't need to Yeah.

Okay. Um and then he gains one token for each blue tech. One, two, three.

Oh, three more data.

Yep. Three more data.

Right. Okay. Yes,

he can't have. So, he puts one here to tuck a card. So, that's the one he played. He did have this one. So, he could tuck this one to draw a card.

Not a lot of point really.

I mean, he's got two credits.

So, he draws a card. There goes that there.

I'm I'm done.

Yeah. He gets another two points.

Yeah.

Yeah. He'll

So, he's fine. He He'll want to play that one,

will he?

Yeah. Yeah, he'll want to because he can play it and then he gets another publicity. Draw two cards and then maybe the card he gets here.

Well, he needs energy cuz then he can run and do another blue trace.

Sure.

So, I'm I'm I'm done. I'm out.

Okay.

I'm pretty sure I'm I'm done. I've got nothing left. I've got no cards in hand.

Got no data. So, I pass.

Uh you pass. So, we do rotate the solar system.

Do you?

Yes. On the last one. So, go to blue. So, it's reached this anomaly,

which is

which is Stuart.

Which is Stuart. What does he get for that?

He gets another card.

He gets another card. Well, he can choose a card.

We'll give him another card. Yeah,

sure. He'll just take that one,

right? And then

What else have you got to do?

No, I'm I'm done.

Oh, you're done as well.

I am done now.

Right. So, what can we do for Stuart?

What can we do for Stuart?

Well, he can put the data in.

Oh, yeah. Hang on. He has five publicity. So he can spend his five publicity

to get a tech.

What does he want though?

Well,

has he has he got this? He has.

Which of the blue text does he not have?

So he will take that for two points. Whatever it is, he does he doesn't have the publicity one.

Okay. So that goes in there.

That goes in there. So he's gain the that he can then gain two points.

Two points. Yeah. Then he could spend these to clear this.

Yeah.

So that's his

two credits.

Unless these are He doesn't need the movement. He doesn't need another two cards.

So spend these.

Yeah. As an energy.

Spend that.

It doesn't need both, does he?

Yeah. Two. Oh, sorry. It's No, it's just energy.

Yeah.

And he does need to spend the cards.

Yeah. So, two cards as an energy.

As an energy to run that

run that gets a blue trace. Blue trace.

Blue trace is going to be three points for him.

Three points.

Okay. So, all of them comes off.

Yeah.

And he's got how much?

And then he can do another two points.

Two points.

Another publicity.

Yeah.

Another two points.

Yeah.

He has no card to tuck. He doesn't need anything here.

I think he's going to be done.

Yep. We've done the best we can for Stuart. I think so.

Right.

Right.

Do you do income in the last round?

You do not

because it's all leftover stuff.

It's all left over. Yeah. That's it's irrelevant.

So, end of the round.

What we do do is the is uh any card, any gold card in front of you.

Yep.

So, you're in the lead. What have you got?

So, I have two points for each pink trace in the amoeba, which is one. So, two points.

Two points. I also have three points for each orbiter or lander at Jupiter, including the moons. That's nine points.

Uh 35.

I also have two points for each yellow trace on the amoeba,

which is three. So that's another six

yellow. Yes.

Yeah.

41.

Okay.

Uh

your gold cards. Uh so

got five.

Five points. 22.

Shows gold cards. He doesn't have any. Right. Okay. Milestones.

Yeah.

You get 11%.

So I have

one one two.

So you get 22.

22 points.

I get 16.

44.

So I got two sets. Right. Then for every two takes, one, two, three. So I got that three times. So I get 21.

Yep. and Stuart. So, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine. So, he's got it four times. He gets 20 points.

20 points.

Yeah.

33.

Okay. Each set of traces. Pink is my weakest one. I've got two pink. I've got like four blue and two lot. So,

16.

So, one, two, three, four, 94.

And I have two yellows. I've got loads of the other ones. So, 12 points.

12 points.

Uh 56.

Stuart's weakest is pink. No, Stuart's weakest is yellow. He's only got one yellow.

He has.

So, you're going to get four points.

Four points. 37.

And then finally, Stuart's going to get eight points for every two completed cards.

So, he has one

completed missions.

Two, three.

Three completed missions is 20.

2461. And you get six points for every two completed missions and or gold cards.

One, one, two.

That's it. Four points.

12 points.

Uh 68.

There we go. So, winning score 194 168 161.

It's not unusual to get gaps.

Yeah.

Should try harder.

I will.

200 points. 200 is my is my is my total. Um, so before we wrap things up, first of all, thank you very much to Stephen and Stuart for joining me this afternoon. Thank you to everybody for watching us live and spotting the couple of things that we missed. Apologies for the technical issues at the start and apologies for the potentially low quality stream. I have been getting error messages popping up on my stream uh stream. Something to do with the key frame frequency is set incorrectly, but I have no idea what that is. But yes, apologies for the technical issues. Who publishes that game?

What? Key frame. Key frame.

Whatever it was.

Yeah, it sounds sounds fun. Um, a big thank you to Czech Games Editions for supporting the channel and sponsoring this playthrough. Our objective here today was to show you how the expansion played. Now, because this is a sponsored playthrough, we can't give you our opinions on the game or the expansion. However, I have done multiple games of this where I have given my opinion on it. So, check those out. But what we will now give you is a very quick summary of how we feel the expansion changes the game. And the first thing I want to mention is the first thing that Elini mentioned in the CGE video that introduces this is you will get to do more. And I felt that I did more there. There was so the corporations and the quick start rules mean that you play one round fewer. Yes.

And it I thought it tries to simulate the first round of the game, but actually the stuff that we had from the startup cards is more than I would ever be able to do in round one. I although you didn't get the bonus for it. So you being able to put an orbiter around Uranus in round one of the game, is that possible?

Yes,

maybe. Oh, right. Okay. So it does simulate round one.

Yeah, it does. Okay.

It does. Everything I think everything on the quick start cards can be achieved in round one.

Okay. Right. I stand correctly. It

depends what you want to do.

Whether you would do that or not,

I don't know because it's a long way to go with limited energy. Yeah. Um if you've got the good cards, I when we when we demo this um

I've seen threads about people not discovering both aliens through an entire game.

En yeah,

just by not

which that's that must be so bizarre as to what's happening. I guess if you focus, let's say for example, I decided I wanted to get the the 25 and the 26 points. And my entire game plan was get probes, get this tech, and land on these two moons. I'm not doing traces.

No.

So, the players could choose strategies that don't get them the traces. Yeah. But

that would be quite rare.

Sure. It would be quite rare

because the quick starts they push me toward um uh scanning clearly

with the scan token. Yeah,

which I don't think I got in the last one, but I didn't scan because I couldn't get that one.

Um but then struggling to get these two just to get these points here.

Yeah,

that was I had to do the two probes only for the entire game, which I feel is unusual for me.

Yeah.

Um

but yeah,

I think it does a good job at simulating the first. So the quick start simulates the first round and therefore should shorten the game. Y

a little bit.

No, not really because you get so much more to do.

Because you get more to do.

I don't know what time we started at 35.

But generally 50 minutes per player is where it is.

So it might not shorten the game.

So it's four rounds instead of five, but you you get to do more.

Do more.

I've never had 10 or 11 12 cards in hand. and and at one point my options were

Yeah. Yeah. So I I I feel that you do get to do more. I do like the quick start. I like any game that gives you a little bit more of an asymmetric start. We've played with the corporations for the first time. And just as a reminder, there are 11 of them of different difficulty levels and some of them use extra components in the game. And the official rules are you're supposed to shuffle these, deal each player two, and then you choose which one you want to take. put you choose which one of these you want to take at the same time as you're choosing which two of the three startup cards and you've seen your four starting cards. So you don't get more than four, you only get four, but you see those before you make your decision of corporation and starting cards. So there might be some some synergies there.

Other than that, we've seen one of the new aliens today. So we've seen the amoeba.

First time I've seen it.

Yeah, it it's not it's quite simple. Yes,

but I like the way that the bonuses are rotating round and the cards were quite interesting as well for the ammo. So, I've not seen the other ones yet. I don't know how complicated the other ones are compared to the ammo.

The There's Yeah, there's one that's more complicated than this. One one I would say slightly more complex, but one is quite a bit different. Yeah.

Okay. Um, Michael says he read somewhere that encourages scanning was something the expansion was meant to do. So, there's two things. There's the scanning tokens which you can get. So there are ve so Steven was getting them himself but you can get these scanning tokens at various other times in the game and these allow you whenever you scan to scan more. So that kind of encourages scanning and there is also for those people who

I don't think it encourages scanning it more enables it.

Yes.

Because if you don't scan you still don't scan.

There are also adjustments for one to two players. So if you are playing a one to two player game and you feel that you want more stuff only Oh, is that Oh, no. This is

That's only optional.

That's optional. Yeah. But there's neutral signals.

So when resolving a completed sector that includes neutral markers, so you can have neutral markers in a two-player game.

Yes.

What you do is you treat these markers as if if as if they belong to another player. So yes. So there is a variant now with two players that you can put neutral signals in some of these areas which I think a lot of people did as a kind of

a lot of people were doing anyway. There's been a lot of debate about it online.

Yeah.

Um I think a well-known YouTuber berated the two-player

right

uh experience. Um but I think SETI is a game that gives you more the more you play it.

Yes, definitely. Um so typically I will say expect to score 140 160 points.

Yes.

Um but when you know how to play the game you can consistently score 200 points.

Right.

And then there are experts out there of which I am not who score over 300.

Over 300.

Over 300 points.

Are you one of those players? Let us know in the comments what is your highest score at this game.

300.

Yeah. Mine my highest is 248.

Okay. That's still pretty good. It's

it's not bad. Pretty good. And for those people wanting to know whether the solo mode is compatible with the expansion or the expansion is compatible with the solo mode. Yes. And there's more stuff. There's now longterm objective cards, but there's all sorts of extra stuff as well. So yes, it is it is all in there. And that's it. We are done for today. So again, thank you very much to everybody for joining us live. Thank you very much to everybody who leaves me a comment. Thank you very much to all of my patron supporters for helping fun the channel. And thank you Stephen and Stuart for joining us this afternoon. Thanks. Um, we'll be back tomorrow afternoon with Earthbound Rangers.

The adventure continues.

And then for keeping on a CGE theme, tomorrow evening is our third session of the Lost Runes of Arnite campaign. So, if you're interested in watching me and Rick wear silly hats and play Lost Runes of Our Night. That's happening tomorrow night. Both of those videos are on the channel now if you want to set your reminders, but that's happening tomorrow. Cheers everybody. Bye. Bye. Bye.
