Hey, how you guys doing? I do not have the chat up. Let's hope everything's going okay. Been having nothing but tech problems today. really dumb stuff too, you know, mostly on me. Um, but have been really busy. We have been um working on um cleaning out games. We have just too many, you know, uh and you know, it's tough problem to have, right? But it is it is hard. We don't we're terrible about uh getting rid of stuff and um we uh I mean it's I I like games for far too many reasons. I mean I am such a fan of um uh what a lot of these games have to offer.
I am I'm blasting my ears out trying to get the chat going. Um but yeah, it's been, you know, we've been super busy with that. Nikki's got some other projects she's working on. So, um it's been a little challenging, but and I've been working on that computer. So, our computer that we use for our chat, it used to be one of our streaming computers that we took to shows when we were doing PG was doing stuff live. Um, it was awesome. But, uh, we don't have, um, uh, man, my hair's a mess. Um, uh, we don't, it was having some serious issues. It didn't, I think it went through a Windows update and it had problems, so it was a little challenging. Um, interesting.
Okay. Um, one other thing I need to check, but yeah, it's been uh it's also extremely warm here. We are I I was uh Scott in Texas. I'm not sure if their humidity is worse. It probably is, but ours is pretty awful. And um it's just been this way for months now. Really like strong strong warm weather for us. Uh a little challenging, but um hey, I noticed the music or maybe it is continuing. We'll see here. Um, it's another one of the many issues we're having with this stuff. I I don't I don't know if we have an update to the software. I don't know what's going on here, but uh meaning we the software that we use we it had a um it had a uh there you go. music goes. Uh we used to use it with um uh within the the software we had.
There's a browser in there that you can do. I mean clearly you need to have browser access for stuff like that, but we had such issues with it and it was not letting me sign in. Um which was bizarre. So we just ended up um uh command plus. Right. There we go. getting the zooms a little bit bigger here for the chat. Now, let me see if I can get to my photos. But yeah, I have um Wow, this is another tab. Oh, this is the browser.
Software updates. Good gosh, this another browser window. Oh, there we go. Derp. I keep saying that. Need to stop it. So, I'm doing cosmic writer, correct? Yes. Ghost writer. There we go. I called it cosmic writer. Not helpful. Um, what is going on with this stuff? Just reload the page. Oh my gosh, the sign in stuff is insane. I have to sign in so often. Let's just log in.
I It's so ridiculous. Oh my gosh. I cannot stand this stuff. It really is dumb. And it's got updates. So, relaunch the update. Might as well do it. Um hopefully everything will keep working because I just I'm sure this is one reason why I'm having problems logging in. Um everything is so frustrating with this. should load in all the tabs, but I will bet that I will not have my calls.
I have my personal one here. I think I'm back on the call. Boy, this is so annoying. But there I am on that thing. That's great. Let me uh minimize that. Yeah, it's just been crazy and the tech stuff is in insane. Like we have so many problems and it's so frustrating. Um and it's just because we we're doing too many elements, you know what I mean? We're like trying to do a semi-sophisticated I mean, you know, this is real amateur, but a semi-sophisticated setup and it is always a challenge. Um, let me see if I can get the right angle here. There we go. Um, so yeah, I'm I'm going to work on Cosmic Rider. Might as well cut to that right now. Let me double check one other thing. Music seems like it might be loud. Let me know if you're hearing that. Um, I'm not sure anybody's really watching. You know how that is.
Um, but uh but the heat is not fun. And you know, my mom who's 80 is struggling with it and I call her every day and that's all I hear about is how hot it is. I'm like, "Yeah, I know, Mom. Um, but what can you do?" Um, we have had uh what else we got going on? We have uh we've been filming a lot. Um, we played uh a game kind of secretly last week that we're hoping to do on the show. Um, we will see. It's right now we don't even have it. We're trying to get it. Um, and uh, it would be really fun to to do it, but it's going to be comp uh, you know, like a long episode. We already have, so we did Drillers, which will be coming here soon. Um, and it was a long playthrough, which is fine, you know? Um, it's just challenging when you're trying not to um, make it too busy, you know what I mean? Like too intense for people that are most casual watchers. But, you know, there's plenty of people that seem to be happy when we do the longer games. It's just challenging for us to actually make them. Um, I when I'm when we're filming, all I'm thinking about is the amount of effort that Derek is going to have to do to edit it. And it's not all lost, you know, it's not all on him only because I have to deal with lots of stuff, too.
Um, but I have all these Pringles lids that I use as little mixing things. They're pretty great, but they're all over the place. I don't know what happened. Something must have fallen. Um, but yeah, we've been working on pulling games, so it's bad. Now, I have a wall of games right in front of me that, um, you know, it's all mini stuff and 99% Games Workshop. You know what? I need a soda. Let me be right back for that. I am so thirsty. Well, any kind of drink. But yeah, it's uh it's so much Games Workshop stuff. And I'm trying not to buy more. There's actually a few things that I'm interested in getting uh that are not inexpensive, that's for sure.
What is that? And root beer or cream soda. I will take that. But um we've just been so swamped. It's just and that's the downer, you know, I don't want to My mom comes over on the weekends and I like hanging out with her. Uh, you know, we don't have a ton to talk about all the time, but I, you know, she's getting older and I want to be around her and on the weekends if I'm, you know, I I didn't, I don't think I came, I did maybe a little bit of organization out here while she was around. But mostly I just tried to do it when she wasn't here. Um, cuz she came over both days. We often will do that on the weekend because we don't I don't get, you know, we're away enough that I don't get to see her often enough. So, and you know, she's getting older. She doesn't have a lot of friends. So, um you know, they've all passed. It's really kind of a bummer. So, make friends. Make friends and keep in contact. Um so, Cosmic, what is it called? Cosmic Ghost Rider. Or is that what it is? Um Oh, I'm not logged in. Hooray. Hey, I keep forgetting about that. Let me log in. See if I can get logged in.
Um, I have like the longest passwords for things.
I'm also, you know, I mean, the crazy stuff is we all have lots of worries with all this now. They're saying that AI will crack our passwords very easily. Um, so I have no idea how safe anything is anymore. Anyway, if I can only type correctly.
Hey, I didn't get it. It's typing in a weird position on a laptop keyboard, which is not my best. Ah, there we go. Hooray. Hooray. Okay, so now let's see if I can get logged into the um am I even in here? I don't even know. But yeah, it's, you know, I we have so many connections, you know, with BDG stuff and um do this one here. But they sign out so quickly. It's so annoying. There we go.
I have no idea what's going on. There we go. Wow. Let's go. I think I'm in the multiverse now. Here. I don't know. This is terrible. Cosmic Ghost Rider. Is that not what it is, right? Yes, it is. Okay, let's see if it'll let me open it. I think it's the browser like it. Yeah, there we go. It wouldn't open it. It's so silly. And I don't have them. I have them in a server on our cloud server just so I can get at them easily. Um, now I need glasses to be able to see. These glasses let me see far away. These let me see super close. The the joys of getting older. Um, everybody I know is like, "Yeah, I got to wear these glasses." I'm like, "Yeah, I know. It's terrible." Um, it's so funny. Even I mean, you know, I I don't know if there's any truth to like looking at computer monitors and your phone all the time. I mean, I do feel like looking at a phone a lot is not great for your eyes. Um, and I try not to do it, but I still do it. You know what I mean? I'm not as bad as I could be, or others are sometimes. But, um, anyway, so this is uh what I was working on a week and a half ago, I guess. Now, I was supposed to do this on Thursday, but that was when we went and played a game. Um, was an opportunity to do it, so we did it. Uh, but yeah, it's uh he's pretty cool. Now, I don't I don't have his skull together yet. There's they have like a like a
golden hue on him here. And there's nice paint job on him. I don't know that I will go that crazy. Uh but I don't know what his outfit is. It looks like he's got like a bodysuit. Hey game Gama Loft L. Happy Tuesday to you too. And Spider-Man. Awesome. Um, yeah. So, this gu is pretty awesome. I've got two more to do. I used mostly I think everything is still here. So, this is the basilicum gray uh that I used for his body. I was thinking that I I did the chains first. I think I'm going to continue just to do the orange stuff first and then orange and red and then so I did paint the purple rocks that he's standing on which is awesome. Uh I had used it for something else. What did I use it for?
And I'm like oh well I've got this purple. Let's just do this. Wonder what it was must have been somebody I was working on. I don't see it. But I have a lot of mini assembling to do because there's a video that Nikki is working on that will need those minis. So, I'm was gonna maybe do them here, but I don't have approval. Um, it's not like it's not announced, but it's those type of things. Um, but it's not released yet. Uh,
But um man, this is insane. Oh, the heat. It's warm in here already. I do have the AC going, but I don't like it cranked because you can't It gets a little noisy, you know. Anyway, so the way I did this is I applied a yellow first to the body and then uh to the chains and then the the flames and the I don't think I did the shoulder pieces in yellow. I just did the orange that I using. I'm using fire giant orange which is like this amazing color that I love that I discovered here when I was painting um in uh Germany with our friends painting group which is amazing you know I mean I wish we had that kind of thing where it was like they first of all had access to this fantastic old you know like it's a um city building now with a park and it was an old mansion um and so they had access for that and it was it was really fun. And a lady loaned me that orange.
Now, it was the version one and I never really um used it much. I think it was already 2.0 was out, but I didn't know, you know, I mean, I know about the reactivation stuff, but I didn't have a problem with it. I mean, I'm pretty certain I did all of these. Um, and this was three years ago. Oh, maybe it was four years ago. Good gosh. Um, that's horrifying. Um, and uh, it was really good stuff. I'm not I don't have I hadn't had a lot of experience with the um, the speed paints, the Army Painter speed paints. Uh, I didn't love their regular mini paints, but I have been using I bought a set of 50, which, you know, I went against my own thing. don't buy sets.
Even though I just bought the the my latest paint acquisitions were the uh the Proacil OneStep paints and I bought both the original set. Is this set one and set two? Yeah. Um I don't really need them. I just wanted to try them out, but that's likeund $60 worth of trying it out. Um and I really don't need more paint. I have plenty of paint. Um, Games Workshop four years ago or so was kind enough to send me the second wave of their contrast paints and their new shades. And I love that stuff. I mean, contrast paints are truly solid stuff. This is the yellow I'm using, Imperial Fist yellow. It's kind of an orangey yellow.
Some would say this would be called Signal Orange maybe, but it is a yellow. Um, and then I've been using the golden yellow from uh um Monument Hobbies um Proacel. I love it that So, this is standard acrylic and I'm using it to do some touch-ups and bright spots. You know, this is not done. It was just me trying to get that some of those things to work as I was doing. I might have done the dot here in the center of these guns. This one actually looks like it could use it. Maybe I'll do a tiny bit of that right now. I do have my wet pallet next to me. It is one of the um ones that has a sponge in it. It's not very big. I backed this on a Kickstarter. Um this was the um Exemplar from uh I can never remember their new name.
Uh wow. Exemplar from I have their paint brushes right here. I also packed on that same cam game envy. I never remember the name. Uh I b I backed them from the beginning of their stuff. I believe they had these things called the hobby holder which are are great. They're uh miniature holders. You have to use um paint uh you know uh uh poster tape uh putty, you know, and which is good. It works. I use it all the time, but it's sometimes not my favorite. I like you know the Games Workshop clamps are pretty awesome. I saw Adam month or two ago did a video. I should have talked to him about it um on um on uh his um because we went to we had lunch with him at Gen Con. Um Adam from uh Tabletop Minions. He had a video where he showed one he did an event where he used they had provided things.
I don't I think it was a it might have been related to um Army Painter. He's uh on their factory team or something like that. Um and so he was doing some painting stuff and they had everything set up and they had they had these um mini holders that are very similar to these but a thicker head. And he said they also hold square bases. Now square bases are not common. I don't even think I can't remember if uh I'm pretty sure the old world uh set. Hey Proco step one from Mon Hobbies. I'm going to get Jason and Chris to hot from Mon Hobbies. Hey Mele 15. Well I did buy it. I went I ordered it. I told you I didn't pick it up when I went to Gen Con. I didn't I It's funny like it shouldn't be a problem. I mean, I have that stuff shipped to me. I'm always paranoid about having it shipped in um uh our suitcases. And the thing is is I can always we ship stuff back via in boxes, but I always want to get on it right away. So then I I think I end up paying more to buy it uh from the store.
Although I they it is on sale or at least it was on sale for maybe seven or eight dollars off. So it might might be about the same price. But, um, I really do want to use the paints because I think the little tiny bit I've used of them now and what the videos that I've watched of Jason painting it, they look amazing. Um, and you know, it's not, in my opinion, more of these types of paints is not a bad thing um to have on hand, right? Uh, number one, I am not always ecstatic with the color choices. I will say I'm not sure where they're going on these sets. That's one reason why I don't like buying sets, but this is all the colors they have. But they have the new set has like maybe a I don't know, crimson and scarlet red.
They both look good. But they have a great purple, royal purple in the first set and a dark purple. Um, but they I don't know. These actually seem like a better mix of colors. Let me see if you can see the little There's the This is the set two. And um they look pretty good. And then here's set one. Uh and I also bought the medium. Uh they have a I'll show you that in a second. Um a medium that you can use and mix. Uh the onestep special sauce. You can use it to add to your existing paints. I'm pretty sure they mostly want you to use Monument Hobbies, which I have a lot of. Um, and they uh really are solid, you know, their paints are really solid. I probably I mean it's I cannot remember when I bought the first stuff, but the first stuff I bought was from Canada, I think. Really?
It might have been sold here, but they were ma manufacturing in in Canada. I really feel like I ordered from Canada, though. I don't know. But it was Creature Caster that uh used to do that stuff. And I they might have a new paint stuff that they do. I don't really know the story of all all that. Oh, I was going to do this yellow. Um but uh it's really good stuff. Um the only issue I've had and this is just you know uh so you understand the white has uh coagulated. I mean, I've revived it, but it's like it is a color I use pretty solidly. And maybe because I take a break, but I feel like a month off, which is not unheard of, shouldn't be that big of an issue. But this is the one. This is my literally my first bottle of titanium white. Still getting through it because I don't I have other ones now. But yeah, made in Canada. Um, and it's good stuff really, but it got real thick and I think I'm not really certain what the story is, you know. I know that the pigment the pigment is different in white, you know, like it's it's very um Yeah, this stuff is thick. Still works, but it's thick. Um, so I hope I get through this one soon because I have two other bottles of it right now. Um, is that correct? I think so. I think I got a set, a basic set,
and then I ordered another bottle. Is this a titanium one? It is. And this one's made in the USA. So, you know, it's way more fluid. Their metallic medium that I love. Um, they have some pretty great metallics as well. Rich Gold is awesome. Um, yep, it is, isn't it? It's I think it's titanium. I think they actually have titanium and zinc, maybe. Um, I don't know. But it's it's thicker, right? You have to you have to use it. You have to care for it. Um, and this has got to be seven years old. I mean, it's insane. Now, I use another I use other whites. Uh, I use the primer. I have um uh also probably around the same age u maybe a little older. I bought the a bottle and and don't buy huge bottles. I bought a huge bottle. Here it is. I mean, this is a color I use all the time. Stinyl res.
It is massive. I've used an inch of this in years, years, years, years. And I primed hundreds of minis now. You know, I do more black. Let's see. Is the black one here? I don't see it. Um, the black one is probably more used than the others, but I bought black, gray, and white in the primers from Monument Hobbies. I mean, from Badger, and I really like that. I really like their primers. Now, I'm sure there's some other great, especially since this is an old old formula. I'm sure there's some fantastic primers out there. Um, I've heard many great things, but like I want to get through this primer. I have I think these are 16 bottles. It is way too much. Yes, get the four or the eights. You know what I mean? Sure, you'll pay a little more, but number one, it'll take a lot less shelf space, and you won't feel as terrible as you don't get through it quickly enough. Um, and I've got to tell you, I have 4 oz bottles of other things. That is a lot of stuff. So, you don't need to have you don't need to have all that stuff. So, I did the yellow. Let me get this going.
I'm yammering away here. Um, I didn't get this brush very clean here. It is a challenge. Oh, you know what? I haven't used this one that much. This one was the one I pulled out, I think. Uh, let me clean it, though. Um, yeah, it's it I really feel you shouldn't buy paints, a bunch of paints. Um, maybe a small set, you know, maybe a small set of 12. I mean, that's what's in these uh Proacral Ones. Um, you obviously need white, you'll need black, and then that. So, that's 14 paints. And it's a pretty good mix. There's flesh in there. There's greens, there's blue, um, black, dark blue, black. Um, you know, you need black and white. Um, uh, standard acrylics. Um, there's the alcohol. I don't love using alcohol on brushes, but I need it for um the feral. I've got stuff on here that's just not coming off. Ah, it's coming off.
It'll be fine. No alcohol. Um I only use alcohol if I'm really desperate to get something cleaned up and it's not cleaning up. U now I need a drip drop of water. Distilled water is what I use. It's really I don't know that it's that big of a deal. Our water here in Southern California is not bad. At least right now anyway. Who knows if we'll have any water. Um, wow, that too much water. Maybe I didn't mix that enough. It is possible. That sounds pretty good. That's another great thing, though. These guys use glass agitators, which I really prefer. Um, got to get one more droplet here.
Um, now I have way more yellow than I need. What was the purple that I used for that? I don't even remember what I was doing. Um, but yeah, I really love their paints. I've used them for long time now. I've had the standard a bunch of their standard acrylics for a long time. I also loved uh that I also discovered like five or six years ago. I'm getting the yellow and the white here. um was their transparent paints. So, I have I believe the full set of those. The reason why I I think I bought some already, including the transparent white, but I bought this transparent yellow as a uh interesting. It had an agitator in there. Why would it have had an agitator? Because I could see one of my green ones in there. Wonder if they have two in there. Anyway, um I use this to reinforce like to uh improve the yellow from the original set of um contrast paints. Uh so it was my it was my yellow really and it was pretty good. It's not the same as the contrast paints or their one steps. Um this was the Were these the yellows? Yeah. I mean I don't know. There might have been more, but these were the yellows from uh Citadel that first came out. They are um I mean this one you can tell it's actually kind of yellow, but it's really orange, too. You have to really uh use the contrast medium to lighten it up to
make it more yellow. And it's pretty good. I have Captain Marvel over here somewhere. That was the original go with that paint. Let me see if I can find her real quick. I need to uh categor put these things away. I don't see it here. Um but uh I thought it was there. I I know that I must have put all the other ones away. Uh too much stuff. But um uh it was a great uh solution. And I bought all of them. I bought their blue and it was like 10 colors or something. One, two, three, four, eight. looks like. Um, but uh they're good stuff. The the Games Workshop stuff, it just wasn't wasn't yellow enough and they saw that. This one is really kind of a weird one. I I should actually experiment with it. I only used it a couple times and it was not what I wanted. Um, but yeah, that's that's a yellow. Uh, but you can see some yellow pigment in there and stuff. So, it probably looks better once it's diluted a bit. You know, it's not diluting it. It's using the contrast medium to reduce the intensity. It keeps the paint um strong uh works like continues to work like the paint. It doesn't necessarily have I it's more of a I use it kind of more of as a wash in that regard, but I also build to the color that I'm going to
use. Um, often I will start with stuff lighter than I want and build to that. Um, you know, the the intensity that I'm thinking I might want to use. I'm going to I'm going to open this up. Really shouldn't, but it is very brown, but I really want to find out because I'll tell you, initially I didn't get it. I mean, I love the contrast paints, but I did not get like I'm like, "This is a they don't have a good flesh color." And that was the color that pushed me over the edge. I'm like, "Oh, okay. I get it now." You have to use the contrast medium to get the rain. I What happened was I went to We used to have a Games Workshop store, a war a Warhammer store near us. Um, no longer unfortunately, and they show this range of the the color on their swatch on the the rack. I'm like, "What is the deal here?" And um as soon as I realized that, I'm like, "Oh, you got to use the contrast medium." I mean, you could probably use water, but it's not going to flow the same. And as soon as I started putting contrast medium in, I'm like, "Oh, this makes total sense now." Um, so this is an orange. I mean, here you go. That is the Nazdragreg y. Is it what it's called? Nasdrag yellow. Um, and it uh but let's see what it looks like on white.
Uh, do I have anything primed that I can I don't mind painting on right now because let me just put it on here and see what it looks like. Okay, it's a yellow. It's not bad. It's It's brownish.
So that's not bad. I mean, it probably would give you what you want on some stuff. I mean, you know, a lot of their colors are tied into armies. That's one of the things that's why they have like a billion blues. And, you know, that's part of the problem I feel with their paints. Um, too many of the of of a color type. It may not be that. Um,
there you go. So, if you want to just make that a little brighter. Um, blue and green are bad. There's a few red. I don't know how much you need, but like I'm looking at the bulk of the the palette, color palette they have there, and it's a tremendous amount of blue and green, and that's unfortunate. Uh, now I don't have all of the uh speed paints, but I have some and they're kind of a better mix maybe. I don't know. I have their color I have their color wheel or their uh chart that shows it. I should look. Also, there's a great YouTuber um Staly Taylor Painters. He has a uh um he has swatches, color swatches um that you can then number one you can figure out uh another brand paint color that will work for you, but it also gives you it's all photograph uh photographed, right?
He color corrects it and everything. So, it's you're going to have I mean I think he's pretty particular about it. Oops, I'm not painting this on camera. Um, but uh he's pretty good and if you really want to know more about paints, he covers he reviews most every one. It's kind of like his thing now, which I think is great. Um,
but yeah, I don't I feel like you really should start with a small set and then add colors as you need them. Um, and you know, which makes it complicated, you know, I'm I'm of the same mind where it's like, well, I've got this. I want to go do this now. Uh, you know, but and you know, we don't have a lot of choices. I guess that's part of it. If you don't have anything nearby cuz waiting days or a week for paints is not great, but really it's not worth I I don't I feel it's just too much um to have have everything every color and you may not even like them. So, in the first wave, I wonder if this is this loud. Let me see what this sounds like on the stream.
Or I just maybe have this mix too loud in here. My mix, but I don't know why it should be exactly the same. That doesn't sound too bad. I think I just have the tab too loud. Um, and it sounds like everything's too loud. So, let me turn it down a little bit. Okay. Um, but yeah, having a bunch of colors you don't use is uh not great. I so in the initial wave I read a lot of views and people were uh not happy with some of the colors and I totally get it but ultimately it turned out I don't think people knew how to use um the colors yet uh completely uh now I have almost I think now because Scott gave me his paints I have basically um 99% of that first wave I might be missing one bottle of color. Uh, but of course I have two of many now. Um, which is not great either because I'm not I've only refill I've only bought Basilic and gray, this color, which I showed earlier, the yellow, the only yellow I had. I bought another one of these cuz I spilled and lost a good chunk, but not everything, but I it is a color I use all the time. Um and uh
um but initially I didn't buy ultramarine blue uh dark angel's green um and I like all of those now. Um they're not the greatest. There are better blues I think. But ultramarine blue is pretty good. Ultramarines blue is good especially when you use it in my opinion with um the contrast medium. But, you know, there's they all have different they're they're in, uh, I feel like Games Workshop maybe not necessarily all of them in particular have issues. They should be on a a paint handle. Um, uh, hey Goose Goose, how you doing? Send some love. Thanks so much. Um,
you know, you're only going to figure out what really works for you if you get it. So, that's part of the problem. Um,
I am looking at the forecast of next week and it looks like it's supposed to cool down by about 20°. So, I'm hoping that's true. Would be nice. Usually what happens is we get it stays warm even into October for us and then it gets cool right as we're going to go to to Europe and this year we are going to spiel. So, we'll see how that goes. I'm looking forward to it. We didn't go last year. Um, and it's going to be a challenge. We are still going to be gone nearly two weeks, I think. Um, my mom, you know, and Nikki's parents, they really do don't do well when we're gone. Um, and Nikki's parents, she is I mean, I'm going to have to be doing the same thing, but Nikki is helping helps them.
she goes over and um helps them with projects and her brother like I don't know what's going on but they have all kinds of things that she needs to help with and I'm thinking she might have to go she goes mostly on Fridays um but she might have to go another day here in addition because of they have like an alarm chirping and I would go insane that would have been fixed already. Um,
okay. So, now I'm cleaning up that yellow, but it may not be necessary, right? I'm going to be putting a a dark gray on it, and it probably won't matter, but
So you can see what I'm doing here. And it'll get I'll do the orange on the um Did I lose the thing here? I don't get this. I feel like I lost I signed out. What is going on?
Huh? Let me look. I don't have the picture up anymore. There's that.
H
I think I got logged out. Oh my gosh, this is insane.
I I literally resigned in Man, having multiple accounts is just not great. I mean, I I understand it's necessary, but this is really a terrible
I'm going to suspend the whole episode doing this resigning into everything. I mean, I had to rebuilt that machine going and I got it working. So, I have my personal email address. Um, I have my business, my work email address. Um, I have access to our some of our BG media addresses. So, I have like three or four different signins and uh it's doing a pass key. So, I have pass keys, which is great, but they are clearly don't have it figured out yet. Um, do they make all those color choices?
So, so if you use royal purple, it it is the same color. Oh, I don't know. Um, it might be similar to the royal purple. I I can't remember. I think um to their standard of paint range cuz you know their colors their colors are more traditional color names at Monument Hobbies unlike Games Workshops or for example um these here. Here's Wyvern Purple Fury. It's called deep purplish red. Having real names, even though they don't still really mean anything, um is more accurate. Um, but yeah, I have way too many accounts. Let me think. Let me see if I have here. Uh, oh, I have my mom's. So, there's the fifth account.
Um, it's a little frustrating, but you know, they're necessary. I I you have to silo all that information. It supposedly I don't even do it enough. I will tell you there's recommendations that you go even more isolated with your emails so that you have you keep sensitive information away from um your standard account that you use like all over the web. Um I don't do that and I probably should but I try to solve that problem by having crazy passwords. I don't, as I say, I don't know if that's going to be successful anymore. We'll see. Like, they're talking about brute forcing in no time at all with AI.
Um, I don't know. It's pretty terrifying. But yeah, I and I, you know, I have also older email addresses, too. I have I'm on Google for years now, but I also have others from other places um that I use, not as often cuz like I have one with our cable company that they make you have and I don't use it a ton, but I use it. But the stuff here that I'm signing in, it's just basically between three accounts that just makes it terrible.
I think I'm going to need more of this paint.
I really feel like this should not be logged out, but I do have also I cannot I have Apple here uh MacBook and Pro and I don't like it. I don't like all the things that automatically boot up when I turn on the computer every time and I close them out. Um, you know, Windows can do that, too. Um, the other crazy thing is I have tabs that are closed. Like, what happened here? Yeah. I don't know. So, I was saying on the purple, I think Royal Purple, I can't remember for sure, but I think um Vincent Venturella has a a purple. It might be the royal purple, which I don't own from I only have one of the um uh signature series paints from them uh sets, and that's the uh um Rogue Hobbies because they're super intense uh pigment colors that she makes a case that you can mix any color from, which there's another example. So, if you are good and you know your color theory and well enough, you could potentially um just mix your colors. I mean, I mix colors all the time.
Um it's not a bad thing at all. It's really wonderful. But if you're just trying to do things quickly and you don't have that skill, just um just uh let's see here. This thing is silly. This thing is silly. It's playing something very quiet, I guess. So, I have a like a because I have this in another browser. I mean, I have the to do the audio the music because we have a music service which I really like. Um, we use it for all of our non-game night videos. Um, and the live streams, uh, they
can allow you to. So, I have like a playlist that I built that's like eight hours worth of music. And I'd love to have time to do more uh sit down and pick some other things and I will one of these days, but um you can use it. I have a separate browser window now with it uh of just this because it feel it felt like you needed to have that going if um it would pause the audio would pause if I didn't do that. And it's also just easier to control and it's just a single window without other tabs in it.
But yeah, this is a great yellow. This is the um Imperial Fist. It's intense. Yeah, there's so much I didn't buy. I went by the um I went by the game envy and I thought about you know like I don't need any more supplies. Um went by game envy, went by monument, went by um Artist Opus. I really contemplated buying their dry brushes. Um I don't know that it's I don't think it's going to make me any better of a dry brusher. Maybe. I don't know. But I might buy one when I go to Shiel. We'll see.
Um I almost bought a set, you know, and that's like $200 or 150 or something and I don't need that. I have decent um dry brushes. Um, I do really really like Byron's videos and I think he is an amazing dry brusher, but I'm sure a good chunk of that is his skill. Um, he does a there's a great um I can't remember exactly what he was painting, but it was a flame dry brushing thing that he did that was flames and it was incredible. Just incredible. Um,
It's got these little spots here that I'm seeing from another angle that I have not covered. Now, they're going to go to red. The tips will be red or orish red. But I am going to focus on doing both of these at the same the remaining two at the same time here. I'm not done with the other one, but I'm closer than these. So, this is drying quickly. I'm using a very fine not very very fine, but a pretty fine brush. Um and uh
it's an okay brush. You really shouldn't use really good brushes with um contrast paints. Um the issue with contrast paints is they flow very very well and they get into your fereral. The fereral is this metal part that holds the bristles. And if the paint gets in there, it spreads the bristles apart and they're no longer effectively keeping a point. And you want to have a point. This is an okay brush. Um, this is Army Painter one that I who knows when I got this one. Um, it's reasonable size-wise. It might have been part of one of those sets I got. I feel like I got a creature brush. Um, I almost feel like I never bought any. Well, that's not true. I bought some of their brushes. Um I hadn't bought many of them. Um and they're okay. They're not made by I don't know what all of the ones from um Games Workshop are made by, but some of them are made at least they were made by um uh Windsor Newton. And I I like Windsor Newton brushes. They're what I've used the most in my life. I've had many many Windsor Newton brushes over the year. I your ears. I don't use them very often for painting. I do have some right here.
Do I have one out? I do not. But they're all natural hair bristles. And I don't I mean I have some Here's one that I've never used. Um short. I don't know if you can't really see it there. See if it will focus. But yeah, it's relatively short. I'm used to using larger longer bristles now. I don't believe I've ever used this one. 37 years ago, but they're fantastic brushes. Um, I have four or five of them over here. Four of them. But I did purchase one of the new uh these are synthetics, but this is the new ones from um Army Painter that use a new synthetic bristle.
And uh Adam has been singing his praises since they were testing it. He's like, "It's going to be expensive." Now, it's not probably as expensive as um as a actual uh Kolinsky, you know, natural hair. Um but he was prais singing their praises and others in his group um that are standard you know regular painters and users of uh natural hair bristles um were singing his praises. They did blind testing where they changed the handles to different colors so you wouldn't know that you were using the same one. And everybody was really really uh appreciating the brushes. I would like to use them, but I again once was like $15 at I I think that's what I paid at um uh Geeky Te's which is you know in Burbank.
Um and I don't think I've used it at all but let's let's well I don't want to I'm poking it's not the type of brush thing to use it for. Um but supposed to be really good but it's a little expensive. Now, that may not be the 100% accurate price. You know, retailers uh have to charge what they need to charge to stay in business. So, I respect that. But, and I generally go to any hobby store I go to, I'm buying something because uh I want them to stick around. We don't have a ton here in Southern California and um I would really really like them to stick around. Um, I've been there several times and with the intention of buying specific paints, I went to buy some Duncan Roads uh, a few colors. Um, most of them I mean I feel that they're just um, you know, trying to be like the Games Workshop colors. Um, but they he has a yellow. I mean, yellow is all you can tell I've talked a lot about yellow. Yellow and pink are the two colors I feel that we get the I get the worst. um uh colors and you know they my favorite yellow which I found the other day. Um did I say yellow? My favorite pink purple is warlock warlock purple or something like that from old games workshop. Where did I find that?
I pulled a bunch of stuff out so who knows. But anyway, I still have a bottle of it that's just, you know, decanted cuz it the was in one of those terrible I can't even believe it still was working. It's probably not good now and it's not available so I don't know where it's at, so it'll never get used. Um, I actually used when I painted a um I painted a car for uh Gas Lands and uh I used Sebastian's recovered. He's very good about recovering paints. Um cuz you know if they're not used they often are they're not completely dried up. you know, like if the bottle's sealed enough, you can bring it back to life. And he was really good about it. But he was also, you know, I don't know how easy it is to get that. He was buying a lot of that stuff on lots on eBay and stuff. Um, like somebody's full collection, but when I was last there, I believe he was moving on to VJO. Uh, and I like their paints, too. Um, I'm sure the new ones are I have a little bit of stuff actually. Do I even have any? I think I might only have contrast paints uh or uh quick quick gen. What are they called? Um, express paints.
I don't think I have any modern of their paints. Doesn't No, that's not true. I have the white. Where is it? And I like it. Um, it's also probably another great white that I see. So, I have too many different colors. I'm buying other things I don't need. But, um, oh, here it is. So, yeah, they're game color. Um, they're pretty great. Don't come with an agitator though.
But I used that one. I was using it through an airbrush and I thought it did a great job. Okay, do I have most everything painted on him? Looks pretty good. Next one. Oh, wait. There's more. Uh, I think I need to paint that interior white, though.
I actually have a bunch of stuff I want to still paint on here before I move on to the next mini. Okay.
But yeah, we do have a um back to uh Gam Gamma Lot Fay was asking about accounts. I we you know we have some shared accounts that we use for the business. Um, and that's important because others need to be able to sign in. Derek, um, will run stuff for me. Uh, you know, he'll run our live streams and that's t signing into our, um, signing into our, uh, Twitch and YouTube and stuff like that.
These things that keep opening. Wow. Oh, I'm on that. But here, there it is.
Okay.
Okay, I think I've got everything. Oh no, there's another thing right here that should be white to help it. Not really sure what it is.
So, let me paint the white real quick here so that maybe it'll be ready by the time I get to the um to this part on this mini. It'll be ready to go because I'm still not done with this one. But we'll let that dry.
I was watching somebody on YouTube talk about white. It might have been Miniac. And he's like, "Just put it on and then don't touch it." Um maybe it was just even light colors, but I'm pretty sure he was talking about white. Like it is really you do not want to. It's such a strange formulation. It behaves differently than all the other paint you have basically.
Yipes just popped it off the base. Now I'm going to paint another color. a bubble in there, I think. No, that's something in there. Um, I'll do the guns with a dark.
Okay. But what happens is it starts to get lumpy. You have to be really cautious with white. Um I mean if you thin it well and do more coats,
you're probably okay. Okay. So let's go back to this other one. and see if it's dry enough. It should be. They dry pretty quickly here on this. Clean the brush. It's going to have white in it.
That's really cool looking yellow. I watched a Netflix documentary called The Secret um Mall Apartments uh this group took a space that they noticed when the building was going up that seemed like it wasn't going to be anything, like it was in a very weird spot. and they tracked it down and then basically put together an apartment in there. And some people slept there some, but I don't think they were there all the time.
But when I heard about it, I heard about this on the news or something, you know, online or something. I don't remember when. I don't think it was that long ago, but it must have been a while ago. Um but they were, it turns out that they were an art kind of an art collective. He was a teacher and they were getting bumped of their out of their um neighborhood. They were going to just raise the neighborhood for more shopping. And um so he thought, you know, like, well, let's just try to do this. And they were they were documenting it. He said they got the somebody was saying they got to the point where they were just so kind of like there it was a meeting place. They'd plan some of the they did some pretty interesting community art stuff that was really amazing. Um and they would do plan those projects and hang out and play video games and whatever.
And um they finally got caught though and uh the guy was just being silly, stupid. He was in there when he should not have been cuz they probably wouldn't have found them. But um they had like security had found them finally like some new security people were digging, you know, digging through and uh look checking all the doors in the facility. Um and they caught him. He went in there during the day with a friend that he was showing the place which you know you weren't an artist, you want to show your stuff. And it is like an artist thing. I mean, they brought furniture in there. They built a new wall. Lots of crazy stuff and uh they arrested him and charged him with a felony, I think, of trespassing or something like that. But the other people did, he didn't uh turn them in. I mean, you know, he was the ring leader,
but he did some really cool stuff. One of the things that he does or and did at least um was this temporary art murals made out of tape, painters tape. And he would do them, he was doing them in a children's hospital ward in Providence, Rhode Island where they were at. And it was just neat stuff. and he would get the if the kids were capable, you know, like interested or healthy enough to do because he'd ask him what they wanted and they would sometimes work with him on it. It was really neat. Um, and I guess he did that for like 10 years at least. I don't know. It was crazy. Um, but uh yeah, but the the thing was he's he's banned from the the mall and it you know, I guess I shouldn't tell you might want to watch it, but uh it was cool.
But it was funny too because it basically when I heard about it I thought it was just kids like you know guys making a little hangout space and it really was that but you know they were there was a statement going on there as well which was fun and interesting you know I mean it is kind of bad they really obliterated neighborhood and you get it like it's not you know it's a warehouse district that I don't know. What are you going to do? They price all this stuff out so people can't afford to live anywhere. It's really terrible here in Los Angeles. they are now doing more what they call ADUs and um where you build a space that like you convert your garage or something like that because they're just desperate for housing and there's a lot going in near us in our area which is um I'm worried about the load you know like how crazy it's going to be. Um there's a new um place that's being put in by the guy who owns the Rams.
It's not that close to us, but it's close. And they already have their training um facility there and across the street from but they completely raised the mall. Um and uh it took a long time though. I mean that mall was hobbled when the other mall that they're both owned by Westfield new one it's not anymore obviously the football guy owns it but um they took all the good stores and put them in the other mall you know I mean like it was the mall that was left was sort of the high-end mall it was a not as busy or anything like that mall um and Uh,
it really hurt that mall. There was a movie theater there until 2023, I think. It I read I thought it went in in 20 uh 2004. Um, that theater because it took I Nikki thinks there must have been they must have built it purpose built, but I thought that there was something else there, but maybe that was the plan. Something was going to go in there at some point in time. there was a big theater and we used to go there. Um, but we just witnessed it all just get completely mowed over. Um, and you know it it's not the mall was not was standing unused. It's was ridiculous. Um, but now they're talking about putting an arena in there. Um, I'm not really certain it was the city not the city. owners of that property were planning that, you know, getting permitting to do a an arena. And I honestly feel they did that to sell like they probably had the discussion with the um the owner of the Rams um if he's like, "If you can get it permitted, I'll buy it." you know, like instead of him trying to permit it, which would be probably much more challenging. Um, because I could not figure out why they wanted an arena. I'm like, what is going to happen here? Um, you know, there there's been years and years ago before
I was ever here, there was like a theater that had concerts and stuff like that, but I can't even imagine like LA has enough of venues of that type and we keep building them. You know, there's they took down the sports arena, which was a terrible old facility, um, and put in a new stadium, I think, but I don't know if it's outdoors or not. Probably is um down in uh in Exposition Park. So, it's much bigger, I'm sure, than the original sta uh the arena was.
And then they have, you know, there used to be the forum forum's still there, but they took and put in the Rams um Sofi stadium there, right adjacent. Then they also have a new into it has a stadium there that the Clippers are in now. They were they used to be at the um sports arena which is gone. Um and then they were sharing the for uh the um crypto arena is what it's called now. I was going to call it staple center which it is not that anymore. Um, it's funny. I think Staples is I mean they probably don't have the money to sponsor something like that, but I think they are in better shape than Crypto.com, but I don't know. Um, maybe not now.
But, uh, dried paint. Um, it's just crazy. And then, you know, there's other stadiums elsewhere here in that there's obviously down south.
I did not get all the paint out of there. Dried paint. That'll be fine. Where's my phone? Let me check something.
Okay, that's good. Staying in range. Okay, paint the third crouch. How you doing? Hey, time roller. It is our streamversary. Uh, we started the funny thing was that I don't know when we started using Twitch, but we were streaming um, we really started streaming in 2020 um, seriously where we we were with Dave and Deborah. We were going to do stuff and we did. We streamed for two months and then the pandemic hit and Dave moved away and we didn't know what the heck we were doing and we missed out on it. It would have been fun to have done more, especially I mean Dave's moving back in the area, but Deborah's moved out. Um, so it's going to be challenging. Um, we'll still see Deborah, but not nearly.
I mean, you we didn't really see her that often, you know, she was filming. They um she just recently wrapped up season three of Daredevil. But um but Dave was taking care of his parents like immediately. We were going to start doing uh Clank Legacy. We thought that would be fun to do as a a different kind of thing because we did some puzzle stuff that was amazing. Uh that I'm still contemping that these guys would do something new. I'm sure they spent forever on this the one that we have and I don't know if it made them a a lot of money. I don't know. It was a really intense crazy production and really really fun. We had so much fun.
Um and you know Nikki and I were only semihelpful like you know Dave and Deborah were really good at it. Um, but yeah, so we did that and then we we did continue streaming. It was just mostly Nikki and I. Um, and then um, you know, Derek would join us and Scott would join us on the call, which was fun. We played plenty of games that way. It was great. But it's obviously more fun to be doing in person. And we've had some luck. You know, we had Kristoff in town, so he was on a couple streams here um both after BGG Spring and after Gen Con, which was great.
We've had Daryl join us. Dave actually and Daryl joined us for the um we did a sponsored stream for uh Zombide um Dead Men Tales, which was really cool. I did not back it and I'm regretting it. I mean, we really kind of got into it there. We did. It was just before we went to Gen Con and we went to Scots and just played all the stuff we had played um things we hadn't played from the zombide and just got really into it. I have mar not all of it, but I have some of Marble Zombies. Um and uh I wish I had it all. Um, I do have I could get it. I have the um Galactus that I'm gonna paint for Scott.
That one is going to have to be off a stream, unfortunately. I mean, I might film it so you could see some of it or something. I don't know. But, um, I can buy one of them. It's not terribly expensive, but it's still a lot of money for, you know, one game expansion, which is silly. So, what I'll probably do is paint Scots and then send it off. Play it and then send it off.
Sorry, it's not on camera here. Oops. It doesn't matter. That is going to be an orange spike soon.
Yeah, you can see it's kind of splotchy in here that where I put the white and that was the one I kept working on. You know, I mean it is not good.
So, there's one other ghost rider. There's a motorcycle one on a motorcycle, which is really cool. And then there's the uh two two one that I did before. That I really got that y'all all over here. probably does not matter, but
cool. Okay, back to the other. I think I got everything on here. Double check. Okay, I do kind of like to wet blend a little bit and I can always go back and do that with some more yellow. Um, wet blending is where you're you're doing the blending on the painting surface. Hey Stewie, dark invisible, how you doing? Um, so yeah, you can you you blend the paint on the surface of the mini, which you know is like really like artists.
Um, when you're doing oils, acrylics, you need to have your paints be more fluid. And some of the ways that you do that is you add a retarder, which will slow down the drying. I think I have a bottle retarder here. um slows down the drying of standard acrylics. Does not work for these contrast paints. Contrast paints are very fluid. So, if you can work on them while it's um while you've got that going on, then you can you can actually do some pretty pretty great blending. I did back in the day I did blending of this. It's not very good actually now that I'm looking at it. I was like always like, "Oh, that's so nice. It's actually better on the back side." So, I probably worked on it too much on the front side. Um, but uh that was using I didn't actually well it wasn't primed white so I painted it white then put the blue on it. Um and I let the white dry before I did that cuz the white would pollute the color definitely. And so um uh
I used contrast medium as the other mixing me uh blending medium. So, I started, you know, I I put um contrast medium over the um the white and then blended the two colors and then tried to bring them back and forth uh a little bit and it turned out pretty good. Again, this side looks pretty good here. It's not in focus. You can see I've done it on some others. Um it definitely helps for things like doing the flames. Hey, Dutch Yoda.
Dick, are you going to be at Spiel this year? So, you can see here this dried inside the bottle. This has been sitting upright. I believe this stuff just keeps, you know, the I don't know. So, it looks like it's okay, but I'm going to poke it. I do not want to press the paint out for fear of pushing the um uh the nozzle out. So, it's it's clear. Um but I've had such bad experiences. I actually was looking at I'm not going to decant the bottles, but I was looking at another brand of bottles that looked more like these. So, I believe this is PET plastic. It's clear. Um it still squeezes. I don't know what people are talking about, but anyway, um they um they were too large. They were at least a third too large. I think they were 30 milliliters. Um and there's just no way.
They're too big, too. Too wide, too tall. Um let's see. Do I have a me ruler here? I do. somewhere. I have these silly um katan one. It is not here. Um but it was 10 cm too tall. The bottle is too tall. Now it was a twist top which I like. I don't love but I I like more than these. I mean I love the eyropper bottles but these nozzles on Did we do this on this one? I think we did. Yeah. It's It's too loose. like this one probably sticks around a little bit better, but um maybe I don't know. Um so I just put in the red or the orange that I'm using, which is Did I just put it away? No, I did not. It's the fire giant orange. I'm going to put that on um the top parts of the chain. I have the airbrush thinner on my fingers and it's smelly. Where is that? I have a bottle of that. Like a big bottle. I have like three sizes of bottles of airbrush thinner and I only ever see the small one here.
I must have put it someplace, tucked it away like, oh, this is clever. No, it's not. Um, but I do need medium. So, I'm using the speed paint medium. That is not it. There it is. This is the one that I absolutely squirted the the nozzle out. Uh, I didn't get a press pass here. Ah. practically in your backyard. I wonder why you didn't get a press pass. We will be there this year. At least that's the plans. We've already got tickets. Have a hotel. All we got to do is get there. Tickets for the airfare and tickets to get in.
It's expensive though. It's not cheap to go to that show. So, I can see why you might consider not going, especially if you buy things like we will be doing. Um, I'm going to try to be good. I have things I want, though. I'll tell you that. I'm going to clean this paint out of here. Why? I don't know. Because it will just be on here again the next time. It's crazy how much paint is wasted just in the lids of these things. I mean, it really probably isn't a lot when you consider how long this stuff. Now, I believe I refilled this. Um, so I have a large bottle of the speed paint medium that is probably 3.3 fluid ounces. So, I'm pretty sure I used refilled that one. Needs to stir up, shake up anyway.
Don't need it again. Buying a large bottle. I should get a big bottle. It'll be I'll use it. And I have, especially since I spilled it. Um, but I we don't have very good um uh
hobby shops near us. They don't carry a lot and and it's fine, you know, they cover what they need.
H
So your top three favorite bands, what are yours? I like a lot of different stuff. Um I'm definitely still a Beatles fan. Grew up listening to them. Um, very excited about the rubber soul uh remaster they've got coming. Um, I uh have been got back into the strokes this year. I mean, I've been buying their stuff forever, but they were doing stuff and I was um excited about that. Uh, I love XTC, another band that's no longer around. Um, I love the Lemon Twigs. They're a modern uh kind of retro sounding brother duo that they have a full-on band now. We've seen them like four times, I believe, live. Really like them. Um, I love uh I mean, you know, I'm crazy. I have a big fan of like older stuff too.
I um recently got um some Brian Ferry Roxy music stuff. So, I'm into um surround mixes of CDs for 20s something years now. Uh 25 years. Uh, wow, that looks terrible. Um, I um really really um that looks really bad. Um, maybe it's too dark on the other side. Anyway, um, I used to buy the DVD audios and they still sometimes make them, but they're mostly now Blu-ray audio and they're great. Um, one of my favorites was the uh it's not a Blu-ray one, it's a DVD um was Queen's Night at the Opera and they have or Day is it Day at the Races. Um that's now available in a Blu-ray audio.
I'm contemplating why. I don't know. Uh so you do need a specific player to play it. A DVD player has to be able to play DVD audio. Um you know, those are all becoming harder to get. So, I may buy the Blu-ray audio because you don't need a special Blu-ray audio player for it. You just need the stereo system that would support it. Um, I'm always looking for new stuff. We love Ghost. We've seen them a couple times live, too. Um, they're very fun. But, uh, Beatles are in the top three. Gosh, I don't know. Um,
the Pesh Mode, they're still doing stuff. We went to go see them. I've seen them a bunch of times. It was one of the earliest concerts, if not the earliest concert Nicki and I went to together. I can't remember for sure because we also went to see went to see Suede and oh my gosh I think it was the Cranberries maybe were on that show. She's gone. Um Dolores or Ruden. Um I love They Might Be Giants. I mean, I've seen them live a bunch of times,
but I have lots for me. It's Beatles Lennon. I love that, too. Rush is great. King Crimson's amazing. Totally awesome stuff. Um, I'm not as crazy about I don't dislike Rush. I just don't know as much about them. Um, I have some of their stuff and they're really great. Um,
my brother went to there two or 10 years ago. Was very excited about that. I never saw Queen live. My brother did. That was 40ome years ago.
Um, but yeah, I love a lot of music and I'm always trying to find more new stuff. It's hard. We just don't have We do have a reasonable station here now. We uh the stations we listen to all just basically fade. Um, I actually grew tired of, so the big station here was that was in, you know, type of music we were into is was K-Rock. And, um, I just got tired of their playlist thing. And so I, this is when I was in high school. Heard one song like the third or fourth time in an afternoon. I'm like, I'm done. And uh, stop listening to them.
Okay. Well, that's messy. Those does not look like flames when you have it coming out or glowing. But I will probably put a little bit of gray on it and then put the regular I'm miss seeing Queen Floyd Kansas. Yeah. So, I didn't I was very young. My dad uh was in the music business and his friend worked on the um Pink Floyd wall tour uh concert here. I mean, I don't know how much of that I should He's still around. I should write him and ask him, but he worked on it here in LA. I don't know if he did others. Um but this was like 1980 or something, 81.
you know, I'm too little to really have an opinion. Um, but I wished we had gone because we actually had the opportunity to go and I think my dad did not want to do it for whatever reason, probably because of when it was happening and stuff, but that would have been cool to see for sure. Um,
I have friends that went to some of their other tours, you know. I did not. I was really a fan of Dark Side of the Moon and still am. And um uh The Wall was pretty good. Pretty good, too. I mean, it's really good. And then I didn't, you know, I moved on to different music. Uh basically, at that point, DVO, another one of my favorite bands from particularly back then.
I really love John Lennon, too. And I love George Harrison. And Paul was pretty good, too. We've seen him. We actually got really lucky and went to go see uh 12 13 years ago now. Had a friend contact us like, "Hey, go buy tickets right now um for Jimmy Kimmel." Uh and I'll tell you why later. And so we It was free. You didn't have to pay for them, but you had to you had to get him in. and it was we got them before it was announced, but Paul McCartney did a a live thing there and it was amazing. And um she knew we would really appreciate it.
And we had another friend that worked on the show and he was like, "How did you know?" I'm like, "We we found out." But because you know they could lose their job. Um but we were so fortunate. I um it was interesting for me because I had um never met anybody named Lincoln. I had somebody ahead of me in in school that was called Lincoln. Uh but I'd never met anybody else. And um so we're standing in line and the guy that so he calls out to this guy. He's like, "Wait." And and I'm like I'm like what? So I went and I introduced myself. I'm like, "Hey, is your name really Lincoln?" And he's like, "Yeah." He's like, you know, he was the audience producer for the show. He's also an actor. Um, and he put us up close. I mean, it was pretty amazing. You know, we're not Nick.
Uh, I mean, we were already doing game night at that time. Um, but we were just not those kinds of people, you know, we're like have to be excited and stuff, but we did it. And, uh, it was great. It was a really amazing experience. and you got to see them him play live. So, while we were waiting in line, we heard for an hour him rehearsing and playing songs he did not play on the um uh in the show after the show because what happens is, you know, they do an interview and all kinds of stuff. It was really amazing. And um because it's a very small theater and then they you go out to the street and on Sunset on Hollywood Boulevard They did the concert and he was um just truly amazing. But yeah, he played stuff that I had um hadn't heard, you know, I I would love to have seen, you know, more of his stuff, but I just wasn't that wasn't us.
Um my dad I don't think my dad was as into him as I was at that time when I was young.
But yeah, I would have loved to have seen Lennon, but he, you know, he didn't tour when I was would have been too little for that.
I have like over 7,000 CDs, so I really don't have a real idea of what I would pick. But I have the most of I have the most a lot of Depesma, a lot of Beatles. A lot of Paul McCartney, a lot of John Lennon, a good amount of George Harrison, a little bit of Ringo. Um, but I mean there's so many bands. I I was crazy crazy. It's still I mean I was looking at the uh new pornographers which is a kind of a Korean Korean Canadian super group um hey Amanda um press this year they were more strict with their accreditation. Oh well that's too bad. Um but yeah I I still buy CDs. I'm really, even though I I pay for a service, I'm on Apple Music because of um their uh um uh spatial audio, which is uh you know, surround music. Um they uh have um um their service is pretty good. I tried to use a Amazon Amazon's I had Amazon Music for years. Um and uh
um the you had to like use echo speakers. Like I have a Fire TV. Let me just run it through this. But they would not let you do it. So I wasn't going to I have like a couple Echo speakers but not to do surround music in it. So I just switched to Apple and Apple works perfectly well with the Fire with the Apple TV which I use. It's really great. Um, yeah, I would like to seen I don't know. There's a lot. That's the other thing where Who was the band we were talking about? Oh, somebody had posted on Reddit that they were talking about the Buzzcocks and they were saying how, you know, great that they were coming to town. I'm like, well, it's not Pete Shelly anymore. I mean, why would you? I mean, not to say you shouldn't go, but like it's not going to be the same for me, especially.
That's one of the early things I really got into was Pete Shelly. So, what I'm doing is I'm trying to reduce the harsh edge of some of this. It's not really, you don't have to go crazy on it, but it it just softens the edge. Yellow is a very thin color. I think the wet palette is not wet enough here. Um,
it just softens that edge a little bit. You know, you can easily It's kind of great. I mean the use of contrast paint, speed paints, all these is so amazing like what you can do with them and you get pretty great results, you know, quickly. It's not the greatest. I've definitely painted, you know, more detailed and stuff, but
it really depends on what you're trying to do. I'm trying to paint a lot of these minis, so I don't want to spend too long on them. I'm already spending more than I probably should. Okay, so now let's go do the shoulder pads.
Okay. O, my ears itch itch itch itch.
But yeah, it's kind of weird like some of the publishers are moving away from the strategy games, which I get it. It's not a real huge um opportunity to um sell a lot, right? That's kind of the issue with it. But it's a bummer the OP moving away from that. I just was looking at email. I'm sorry. Uh and them just promoting another um Flip Seven, which you know, you you can't blame them. It's such a amazing success. Every publisher wants that, but it's unfortunate.
We had a couple of really favorite games from them. And then, you know, another one of them in that kind of vein was um uh was um Funko, you know, they they didn't do super deep strategy games necessarily, but they did some really great games and their selling off was just terrible. Really not good. Hey, you know what? There's some stuff I see right there. That's not good.
Okay.
Yikes. I don't know if I like this one as much as the old one. Old one seems they're roughly similar. The elevation of the angle there. I'm wondering if this is just getting tired. This I It shouldn't be. I only have one of these. I only bought one of the new ones which doesn't even have the logo on anymore. It's worn off. Um, but I have a fistful of the uh couple fistfuls of these. These are the original ones. Hey, this logo is not on here either. Um,
All right.
You know, I was going to do the shoulder pads. Let's see if I can do that quickly. It should be a better brush than this, but it'll be fine
on the gun. It's not focusing here.
Some fiber here hanging around.
H. Ouch. Did I clean this brush? I feel like I did. That's pretty bad. Now, this is a synthetic brush. It's not really that terrible, but should always clean them all. Let me clean it right now. Let me clean this brush too while I'm at it. It doesn't hurt to clean mid project, especially since I really need to organize here. There's too many bits of things here. It's bad.
I clearly didn't do it. I think I was painting this stuff and then switched to a smaller brush. I don't know. That seems more red purple.
I was trying to use it to wick up some paint and I wasn't soaking anything because the bristles were kind of funky.
It definitely looks cleaner. You can mostly bring as long as you don't destroy them too much. Bring brushes back. Um, again, this is synthetic. So, one of the ways you could do it is if you needed to, you could use some acrylic uh some um alcohol.
I like this brush cleaner. It's just the Masters. It's pretty good. I also have the um Jen's Brushtastic stuff from um Monument Hobbies. I have the older version though. I think it's in a new tin. Where is it at here? I have used it, but I'm kind of like working through my years of supply of uh of Masters uh brush cleaner. Is it Masters? Yeah, the Masters brush cleaner preserver. They've changed the pots. This is an older one still. It has barcode, which I do not believe that the very oldest one I have does not have a barcode on it. So, I bought it at an arts play place that did not have that kind of Oh, there it is. Gentastic drunken brush goop.
Yeah, they've changed it. It's in I don't think it's in a little tin anymore. Or maybe it's different shaped tin. Let me actually just do a little bit here. It's the final bit.
really need to organize again. Has pretty great stuff, too. So, it's a little less gritty. The Masters has a small grit to it that might be better for synthetics than I mean, I don't know. It's been stuff. This was the stuff my teacher Well, actually my teacher recommended when I was in high school. Um, we would get I don't know if he he must have bought it. I don't recall going to a army surplus, but he'd get the army surplus soap and he was in the military so he might have just but it was like a brown bar of soap and this was the late 80s. Um, and it was pretty great stuff. I have it. I bet I I bet I still have that bar of soap somewhere in a in a um one of those. What was the brand? Um art bin.
Those are now owned by um um Flambo or whatever. So, I just put a little bit of the medium that has a little bit of color in it to like smooth out. And I'll probably do a little bit of yellow on it later, but we shall see.
I need more paint. Bit of both. Contrast medium or speed paint medium.
Too many drops.
This brush is too small to do this. Of course, this is theoretically clean, too, but I don't know. I don't think it got cleaned, either. Yipes. Okay. Well, another brush to clean. Wow. What did I do? Do I have any others over here that I didn't do? I will tell you when I'm done. I'm very hungry. I'm very hungry now. I'm getting close to being done. Um, and I try to clean up stuff, but I don't remember if the last time I painted was an evening and I might have been calling my mom. Last time I was watching last Tuesday, I was on a plane coming back from Chicago.
Wow, how that's cool. Sir, how you doing? I would like to go to Chicago again. We were there last summer. It was great. Um, although it was hot, we were there around Fourth of July weekend, so and rainy. It was fun. Um, we had a great time.
It is pretty crazy what the entertainment stuff you can you can stream now on like American if you're a advantage member or whatever. It's free. Um, internet used to be like a little bit of time and I would do my work that I needed to do. It's usually what I would be getting internet for and I've paid. Scott's always like, "You can you can do it." I'm like, "Yeah, I don't I don't want to be doing it on the plane.
getting it on that dang collar thing. I don't want to do that. It's not focusing. Focus.
Oh, so great. Definitely hot and humid and rainy. Yeah, it's neat though. It's a neat town. Frank Sonas said it was Sinatra said it was his my kind of tent. Chicago. I'm an architecture nerd and so we've always had a lot of fun seeing the stuff there. My dad took me back when I was young. Nikki and I went on our started our honeymoon there. And then um went into Canada and stuff. That was great.
Art and the best art museum I've ever been to. I agree with you 100%. We did not go there on our honeymoon and I don't remember why. Um, plus we also had it in the wrong place. It was over, you know, we went there this last time. It was amazing. Um really amazing. Now we've been to a bunch. We went to the Prada and we've been to My favorite museum probably of all time is um uh it's Garrett Nord is the old it was a train station, but in Paris it was the I don't remember the name. Um it's amazing. Uh it's mostly impressionist. There's a name for it. Uh,
I don't recall. Amazing, amazing museum. Um, but yeah, we had an incredible time at and it was blazing hot uh when we went to see um the um art institute. I really wish we'd gone previously. Um I do not remember what the deal was. Maybe we couldn't afford it. I don't know. It was when we were young and crazy. Although I don't know. I mean, we definitely did stuff.
There was another museum we were going to go to, the Gage or something like that. We did not go this last time. Um, but we stayed near Millennium Park at a place called the Silverton, I think, or whatever it was in the jewelry district. It was pretty awesome. really like that hotel and we were very happy with its location because we were right by the art institute and other things that we were doing there. Went on one of the architectural tours, you know, which we don't normally do kind of a thing where when a boat and it was a day that we lucked out. It did not rain on us while we were there, but it rained as soon as we got off the boat basically. And then we went to um Petria Uno, which we really love. And um while we were in there, it poured. So, we had the perfect timing, but it was great.
Oh, you did the boat architectural tour. That's awesome. We did that one. Ours was like an hour long. It was great. was really great. Nikki really wanted to do it and I'm really glad we did. It's not something I would normally do necessarily, but like how are you going to see all that stuff, you know? That was what was cool about it is a lot of buildings that you're going to hoof it around and see, you know, and it's too difficult to drive around. Did we have a car? Yes, we had a car because we rented a car. Um, we needed to go and do other things outside of the downtown area. Um, but it was great.
Plus, we did a lot more pinball this last time. Well, we did none the first time. Uh, we did a lot of pinball this time and it was great. Um, went to a couple really amazing arcades. It was really cool.
The chains look pretty good on that one as it's dried. The first one looks a little better. And you know, the the darker contrast will knock it down, you know, like bring it out a little bit.
I don't think we went to the Navy Pier again. We thought about it. There's a museum out there, too, but I don't remember what happened. We walked all over the place. We were pretty beat. Um, but had a really fantastic time.
Plus, I'm a comedy guy. Would love to do more do some of the comedy stuff there, but we didn't do that.
O got it on his chest plate there. Not good. I got to go to in U505 submarine neato. It was funny. I watched I know I didn't go to Navy Pier. I watched uh I don't remember what event they were going to um but it was folks from um UK that were uh former GW people. So it was um Peach Peachy and um Louise Sudan uh Rogue Hobbies. Um they for some reason and then uh her boyfriend, what is his name? Um he's an honest war gamer. Um and uh they were they went to the army pier or navy pier, army pier. And uh I was like, "Oh, I've never been there."
I feel like that was before I went to that. Wow, that's got a mess there.
Cool. It looks neat. I don't think I've ever been in a I feel like I've been in a real submarine once. It is absolutely the kind of thing we would have done when I was young. My dad was uh we there's one thing I miss. My dad My mom and her sister have done a lot of stuff. They plan like my dad. My dad would have the full itinerary. They used to have um I mean you can do things online now, but Triple A would have these tours and they knew like what to um uh they knew like where you should go, like things you see. And so that would be the whole we'd have the whole thing uh laid out. And it was amazing. Um, and uh, you know, I went on some intense long family vacations and I even went on one after I got out of the house, I believe. Yeah, I was out of the house and they were doing a family trip and they asked if I wanted to go. I'm like, "Yep." I took, you know, I took off from work and went I don't remember exactly where we went.
I remember we picked up my aunt. I think we flew into maybe it was Chicago. I don't remember what that trip was. And we picked up my grandmother at one point, but I was in the back. You know, I had grown to appreciate the even more so the family vacation was just back there. You know, somebody else was running the show and that was like was it during college? Might have been just after college. I don't know. It was amazing. I was so It was wonderful. I would would have continued to do that had my dad continued to do those types of things. It was amazing. Um it was a captured sub from World War II. I bet you that's tiny. Um my recollection of the sub was small so I'm pretty sure I went in one and I don't think it was there.
But yeah, we went to museums, went to amusement parks, we did it all. It was really fun. So you see here this paint is dry and it's kind of it's just it'll peel off. I don't know if it'll all go. Yeah, it mostly went there. It's nice to be able to, you know, clean it up pretty easily now. There is a little bit of let paint left, but it's a lot easier than cleaning it out when it is dry. I mean, completely dry because it gets flaky uh and it kind of is everywhere. I mean, you can see I didn't clean this one over here, and it's still a little bone dry, but it can be peeled. Let's see. I have the Let's see if I can clean it.
Yeah, it comes off. It's not as It's better when it's like a big solid glob. Um, not solid. You don't want to be too much wasted paint. But but yeah, there's there's that yellow drying up, right? It's turning into gel. It's the these paints don't um they don't last long. See what I can get out of that one. But you can see this one's drying. It's got like a weird Now, that's a different brand. Well, this is still kind of wet, but there's a whole big film, right? And it would still be usable. It's not the gel. The gelatinous part is on the top. I just dropped it on the floor. Yuck.
Well, it's awesome you went to Chicago. I would love to go again. We will probably go sometime. We had a really good time at we went on to um Cedar Point after that. That was awesome. And then into New England in Boston. Went to Salem. Nikki wanted to go to Salem and that was awesome. I'm glad we went. Other than it's touristy, but it was still fun.
And Nikki got some cute clothes. Okay, I think it's nearly 1, right? It is exactly just after 1. I will probably be wrapping it up here. Thanks for joining me. Thanks for the chat. I'm glad you guys were here. It is fun when others are here. Man, this software things that want you to update. I wonder if I can tell that to not do it. I don't ever want that software to update. Um I only generally I want your soft my software to update but like we have issues. We had to go back on Premiere Pro which we use. Derek had issues with it and I didn't have those issues but I'm not doing the same thing he's doing and um I mean I am reviewing his edits but it was just terrible. So once again, we had to go back and we had stayed on the 23 through the entirety of 24 and then he figured out that it was in uh version 25 um had solved problems and so we went to that and then we went to I had to I don't remember what happened but I had to run 26 for something maybe a plugin or who knows and it was just a nightmare and so he's like it took me for I'm like Yeah, we can change back do it now while it's easy to get. Um, so I'll make sure that that version is fully up to date as it can be and then I'll leave it in case,
you know, maybe 26 will solve the problem. But man, it was a pain in the butt. Uh, you guys take care. Thanks so much for being in here. Um, I Let's see if there's somebody we can raid. Uh, there we go. Man, this is streaming. I should not have it running on the other machines.
Why is it not doing it? Oh, there it is.
Hey, I'm playing again. I can hear myself now. Stream manage creator dashboard. I I don't like that you have to go through so many layers. It's ridiculous. Stream manager. I mean, I used to be a little frustrated with people complaining about the uh about the um number of clicks. But when you when it's like not it's clear that it's not great, it's no fun. Wow. I'm surprised. What's it? Why is um I mean Amanda should be Oh, she's probably a little later.
Huh. Is there no gamers? Let me look up. Uh time roller. He He usually comes in as he's getting ready to go. Tim the Tapman. I think that's something Scott follows. Time roller. Nope. Time killer. I'm not I must not be. Hey, you know what? I can look back in the chat and see what his handle is. I thought that was it. It's probably one L. I should check. It is one L. I should also check um time roller. That could be that could be not what it actually is. Hey, is he going? Come on.
just playing some recent games. Well, let's join time roller. He's Oh, he's getting ready to start soon. Ah, let me just We'll sit here and chat for a few minutes, I guess. Um ah well, if you want to join in, he looks like he's got rocking raft he's going to play. I guess I'm jumping off early. I don't know. I feel maybe he's just starting late. Um, that's still five minutes away. Well, I'm gonna chat for a few minutes. Let me cut to the Ah, we can sit down and look at the the minis here. Of course, it's I'm noticing that my head is in the way of this one. Um, yeah, these are great.
I do have to paint his boots a different color. I did paint them the whole the gray. Um, these are really nice. Fun stuff. I do I'm hoping I can I have to write and see if I can actually build those minis. Um I do want to do some other stuff. I I'm trying to figure out what to do. I need to paint these. I want to get these all done so I can move on uh and give them to others. Um I'm going to focus on the remainder of wave one, which is not a lot, but I have a good amount because Scott, he had done more than me at one point, but he stopped painting and and you know, he doesn't he's not even really concerned about it. He's like, I don't, you know, but I want him to have them back. It's a fun game to play. So, I will get him those and um and then finish the few that wave one that I haven't done for uh my other friend. Um and then I'm going to try to do that off stream.
I don't know. And then uh um but I'm trying to figure out what to paint. like I I I love Warhammer stuff, but I also am not really excited to paint that. Um, and I was putting together some Marvel uh Crisis Protocol, which I will finish. Wow, I got yellow paint on him. Um, when did I do that? Uh, clearly when I was doing this other thing. Let me see if I can clean that off. Um, I'd like to do that, but I mean it's more Marvel. I I I don't know. I saw um Maniac was painting um Star Wars Legion stuff, I think. And it was pretty cool. But again, I don't know. Is it what I want to do?
Came right off. Now, I haven't primed this, so I really shouldn't worry about it. Um, but yeah, I was starting to do these and um, it really looks like that is falling off. I guess it's just the appearance of it, but um, they're pretty nice. I really should save the cape for later, but he's got like bolts of lightning that he's on and stuff, you know, his sparkles. Um, so I need to I need to work on that. There's the stone. Where's his head? Where's his gargantuan cranium?
There it is. Did they have one where he's just got his hair? That's probably not right. He should be wearing his helmet. Huh. I felt like there were two heads. I might have I I have little bits of stuff that has to go. have to clear this stuff off. But it looks cool. I mean, it would be fun. I just I'm kind of burnt out on painting superheroes. Uh, so I want to paint something else in addition to so that I don't feel so completely wasted. But I don't know if you have any suggestions. I mean, I do have some Marvel's not Marvel. I do have Marvel Zombite, but I do have some Zombaside that might be fun. Hey, the time roll is going to start in about two minutes.
But yeah, it's been I mean I love these. They're fun. I just want to paint something else different color-wise, you know? It's the comic book stuff is so similar. Uh the stuff I'm talking about doing, I won't be um I won't um I won't be painting them, at least at this point in time. I'm just going to be assembling them if I can if I'm allowed. I mean, I'll probably do it on my own, too. It' be fun. Um,
but yeah. Okay. Well, still 46 seconds. Hopefully, it'll go live. I am super I mean, I have so much stuff. I haven't done really any fantasy for a while. I did do um these which were fun. These were a few years back, but they're great. This is for Warhammer Underworlds, which I really love because they're small. Oh, I also painted these two years ago, which were great. Um love doing those. So, maybe I'll move to doing some of that.
Anywh who, guys, well, let's uh start the raid. says starting soon and I don't know. Hope he goes on. Anyway, if you want to join in, if you're on Twitch, go ahead and click through. Um, we got a few people jumping on. Thanks so much. Say hello for me. You guys have a great week. We'll probably be back on Thursday with a regular game night stream. And hopefully it's not crazy hot where you're at. If not, if it is, try to keep cool. You guys take care and I will talk to you later. Bye everybody. Bye YouTubers. Thank you so much. Take care.
Is it going to stop?
