Diamond Heist - Teach & Playthrough
Hi everyone, my name is Monique. >> And I'm Naveen from Before You Play. >> And today we're going to be playing through a game that is currently on Kickstarter called Diamond Heist. >> Yes, this game is designed by Sylvan Plant as well as Joe Slack and published by Crazy Like a Box who are helping sponsor this play-through.
Now in this game the Hope Diamond has been stolen. We are in a museum and one person's responsible for this theft. >> Mhm. >> They are the thief and the other player is going to be taking on the roles of a detective who is basically trying to be on the trail of the thieves and stop them from getting away.
>> That's right. This is a two-player only cat and mouse deduction style game that plays in about 40 to 60 minutes in which players will be taking turns playing cards from their hand and moving around the board in order to steal the Hope Diamond and escape with it if you are the thief or capture the thieves as well as the diamond if you are the detectives.
And so today as usual we are going to start with a teach of the game and go straight into our two-player play-through. If you'd like to jump around we'll include timestamps in the description below. >> Now we just mentioned this is a prototype copy of the game so things of course are subject to change in the future.
If you are interested in the campaign there's going to be a link in the description which you can check out at your leisure. And lastly if you like these kind of videos and you want to see more please consider subscribing. >> And with that we are ready to begin. So if you'd please direct your attention to the center of the table we're all set up here for a two-player game of Diamond Heist.
Welcome to the museum. >> Scene of the crime. >> Yes, the crime that is about to be committed by the thief because like we're mentioning in this game one player plays as actually a pair of thieves. It's a thief and an accomplice. >> Mhm. >> And the other player plays as a pair of detectives. And so if you're the thief your goal is to sneak the Hope Diamond which is hidden in one of these seven suitcases out of the museum via one of the three different exits around the board.
And of course if you are the detectives your goal is to capture both the thief as well as the accomplice and recover the Hope Diamond. >> Yes, and actually the game is played over the course of two rounds where after the first round you'll switch roles and there is technically a scoring system. >> Yes, so at the end of two rounds whoever has the most points wins.
Now the way that each round works is that during setup the thief is going to secretly draw a scenario card. And scenario cards look like this. Each card shows which numbered suitcase the thief must hide the Hope Diamond in, as well as which lettered suspect is the thief and which one is the accomplice for our specific round.
And so, for our first round Naveen has actually already chosen a scenario card and hidden the Hope Diamond. >> Yes, so it's definitely in one of these seven cases. >> Right. As for the other six suitcases, they will serve as decoys. They'll also be holding a diamond, but they'll be holding just a regular red diamond, whereas the Hope Diamond is white.
>> Now, as you can see, there are seven suspects lettered A through G, one of which will be the accomplice and another one will be the thief. The other five are considered paid actors who are there to distract. >> So then, the way that the round works is that always starting with the thief, players are going to be taking turns playing a card from our hands in order to optionally take a special action as well as move around the board.
>> Mhm. >> Now, each role has their own special deck of cards because I'm going to be playing as the detectives, I have the detectives deck, and Naveen has the thief deck. And at the start of the round, we are going to randomly remove eight of these cards out of the game so that we cannot specifically card count.
Then, we'll draw five cards into our hands to start because we'll always start each round with a five-card hand. >> Mhm. So, as a thief, you would play one of your five cards. So, let's just take a look at this card right here. Now, as an example, a thief card looks basically like this. At the top or in the middle here is an optional action that you can take, and at the bottom indicates how all the other suspects must move.
So, in this example, this quick change card basically says swap any two suspects that are in the same room along with their briefcases. So, one key thing to know about in this game is each suspect can only hold or be in possession of one briefcase at a time. And basically, what you would do there is if they were in the same room, the board is basically broken down into five rooms.
Everybody starts in this central column room right here and basically you could just swap any two. So, if this was my accomplice and I need to keep them safe, I could use a card like this to basically move them out of harm's way. Now, the key with these cards is even though the central action here is optional, if you decide to use it, you must do it first before resolving any movement at the bottom of the card.
And in this example, at the bottom of my card, this basically says that all suspects get to move one space. >> Now, in this game, regardless of whether you're the thieves or the detectives, movement is always in an orthogonal direction, which means you cannot move diagonally. And of course, you have to pay attention to the walls and which spaces actually contain doors.
In addition, when playing as the thieves and moving the suspects, it is recommended that you move them in order from A to G so that you don't give anything away. And when moving, each suspect can carry along one briefcase with them. And all you have to do is enter the space and you can sort of just pick it up and move along with it.
Because of course, your goal is to get the suspects and the briefcases out of the museum through one of the three exits. And you can do so even if they are not the thief or the accomplice or they're not even carrying the Hope Diamond. Because as soon as the suspect leaves the board, they're out of the game and you don't actually reveal their identity until the end of the round.
And the last thing about movement is that on the board there are two sets of stairs, one in the central room and one in this lower right corner room. And in order for you to move from staircase to staircase, you don't actually have to spend any movement points. You just have to be on a space that contains the stairs and for free essentially, you can move that suspect or detective to the other staircase.
>> So, in the example of my quick change card, if I was moving F or resolving their movement, I can do the one movement and then instantly go to this end of the stairs over here. >> But that's essentially how movement works. And actually one last thing that is very important since we're in a museum is that there are a number of different obstacles on the board.
They are these boxes as you can see. Our players cannot enter those spaces, but there are cards in each of our decks that allow us to remove them from the board. Now, once the thief has finished resolving their card, they then discard the card to the plan B board. And so, this board actually goes in front of the player who is playing as the thief.
Because each discarded card goes on this board, and once you're finished resolving the card, the thief can choose to discard a number of cards from this board out of the game in order to take one of these three actions. And they're going to be discarding three cards to move all suspects up to one space, or discarding five cards to move one suspect up to two spaces, and finally discarding seven cards to swap two suspects or two briefcases in the same room.
So, this is just another tool in the thief's tool belt. >> And I would always end my turn by drawing back up to five cards. Now, one important thing about the thief that you should be aware of is only the accomplice or the thief is allowed to actually exit the museum with the Hope diamond. The other five actors can be used to actually move the Hope diamond, but they can never exit the museum with it.
>> Now, as for the detectives, similarly, on my turn, I'm just going to play and resolve a card, and my cards look very similar. Each card has an optional action as well as movement points at the bottom, and I have to do them in that order, just like the thief. So, as an example, my card here is another surprise.
I can pick one suspect, and they cannot move on the next turn. And then, I move my detectives up to four spaces. Now, when you're playing as the detectives, you're only going to be moving two pieces that both start off of the board, and you can choose which exits you'd like to start them next to. But, the rule is that each detective must move at least once.
And so, in this example, it says here both detectives together will move a total of four spaces, but I have to divvy them so that at least each detective moves once. So, I can do one movement for her, and then three for him, or vice versa, or whichever way I'd like to divvy that. >> Or you could do two and two.
>> Right. And so, just like the thief, there's a wide variety of cards that you'll see in the game. So, I'll explain them all as we play, but just as another example, we have here working together, which says each detective may move up to two spaces if they're in different rooms or up to four spaces each if they're in the same room.
So, it's not like a separate action for this card, it just sort of modifies the way that the movement works. Now, as the detectives, your goal is to move your detective pawn to the same space as a suspect. Because if you're able to do so, as an example, if E was in the same space as briefcase number two and I was able to make my way over to that same space as a detective, then they can question all suspects on the same space and search all briefcases on that space as well.
Because multiple suspects and briefcases can be on the same space. When searching briefcases, I'm going to physically open them and we're going to see if it is the Hope Diamond or if it's just a regular red diamond. And when questioning suspects, the thief is required to tell me if any of the suspects in the same space are either the thief or the accomplice and you cannot lie, you have to tell the truth.
>> That's the whole game. >> And regardless of the outcome, all of these pieces will come off the board onto my side. Now, if after a search and question, I was unable to find any of the three things I'm looking for, the thief, accomplice and the Hope Diamond, then I can interrogate one of the suspects there by choosing an adjacent room and basically asking the thief if either the thief, accomplice or Hope Diamond are in the same room that we are in or that adjacent room that I chose, but I have to choose one of the three.
So, as an example, I might ask Naveen, is the Hope Diamond in this adjacent room or the room that I'm in and he must answer yes or no. And that's actually it. As soon as I finish resolving my card entirely, then I draw back up to five cards as well. I do not have a fancy plan B board, so that just ends my turn and then it goes back to the thief and we basically continue playing turns like this until either both the thief and accomplice have either exited the building or they've been caught by the detectives or until the thief plays their last card and in that case, the round ends immediately and we go into end of round scoring.
Now at the end of the round a total of seven points can be earned by either player. Four points for the Hope Diamond, two for the Thief, and one for the Accomplice. Now the Thief only earns these points if they are able to escape with any combination of them. So as an example, if the Thief suspect were able to leave the museum with or without the diamond, then the Thief will score two points.
But if for example I as a detective were able to capture the Accomplice and the Hope Diamond, then I would score these five points. So it really just depends on what happens during the round. And that's essentially it. As soon as we finish scoring, then we switch roles and we play a second round. And at the end of the second round, whoever has the most points wins.
So that's essentially how you play Diamond Heist. We're just going to go and get cleaned up and we'll get started with our play through. >> Okay, we are all set up. We are ready to go. We each discarded eight cards from our decks respectively just so we don't know exactly what we're going to draw up.
We each have five cards in hand. Now the Thief will always go first. I'm going to be playing as the Thief today. Monique will be the Detective and then we will switch. Now I'm going to show you my card so you know exactly what I'm up to. You're going to play from my perspective today and you can see if I make any good moves or any mistakes.
I don't know. We'll see. >> And then the second round we'll play with a veil of secrecy. >> Yes, exactly. >> Everything will be from Naveen's perspective. >> So for this first round, this is my scenario card. So this is where the diamond is hidden. This is my Accomplice and this is my Thief. >> All right, and the museum is fully set up.
Now as the detectives, I chose to start both of my detectives at this exit as well as this one. I chose to forego the topmost exit over there. And just so you're aware, all the briefcases and all seven of the suspects will always start in these same spaces every round. All right, Thief, take it away.
>> Okay, so as the Thief, I go first of course. Now I have these five cards in hand and I must play one of them to start taking actions. So I'm going to play this card right here. This one is titled smoke. Now my optional action here is I can swap any two suspects that are in the same room. Fortunately, everybody's in the same room.
Briefcases may not be swapped. So if one was holding another, you cannot just transport the briefcase away. I'm going to swap the position of B and G. >> Oh. >> They are going to be swapped. >> Interesting. >> Just like that. Maybe that tells you something. >> Just a fake. Perhaps, Naveen. >> And then now that I've done my optional action, now I can go into the movement section which is at the bottom here.
Everybody gets to move two spaces. >> Okay. >> And again, movement is always orthogonal being aware of doors and walls. I'm going to move from A through G so that we don't give anything away. A is going to go one, two and bringing this briefcase along. >> Oh, okay. >> Uh B is going to go one, two hanging out with this four briefcase.
>> there's a door right here. >> Yeah, exactly. C is going to just move three with the three. So we're all hanging out here. >> Okay. >> D is going to go one, two. E will go one, two and hang out with briefcase two and F is going to come down one, two and hang out in this doorway. >> Don't forget G.
>> Uh yeah, G. Where are you, G? Oh yeah, I I moved you. Yes. >> That was a fake. >> Maybe. Maybe. Yeah, G will pull and take the briefcase that C was holding. We're going to go one. >> Oops. >> Oops. Two. We're all going to stack up here. >> In that space? >> Yes, but I don't think you >> goodness.
>> Don't hate. >> thief I have ever seen. >> Jeez. Leave me be. There we go. >> Can you imagine? >> ogling over this right here. You can see them. There we go. >> All right. >> Beautiful. So that's going to be it for me. Sorry about that. I will try not to do that. I'm going to discard this card to my plan B board so I have one card on the board drawing up a card.
That is me. >> All right. So now it is to me as the detectives. I hope Diamond >> Don't be so clumsy. It's in good hands right now. >> Museum, all right. >> Maybe. >> All right, I'm going to play a very simple card. This one does not have any actions to it. This is called One More Flat Foot. I can basically move each detective three spaces.
So, three spaces each. >> I think this detective, I'm going to go this way. One, two, three. >> Okay. >> And then this detective, I'll go one, two, three. >> Okay. >> Just kind of keep my options open. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. I see. >> And that is it. Really simple turn. So, now I'm going to draw a card and it is back to the thief.
>> Okay. Okay, I'm going to play this card. This one's called Lights Out. It says, "Choose one room and flip the lights off there. Any detective in that room can only move one space next turn." >> Okay. >> So, I'm going to say in this brown room here. >> the restricted >> Yes. >> movement token. So, I think it's that one.
The one that has a number one on it. >> Oh, yeah, you're right. Okay, thank you. >> So, where is that going to go? >> It's going to go into this room. This Mr. Detective guy. >> So, only one move on their next turn. Interesting. Okay. >> And then now everybody can move two spaces. >> Okay. >> So, A is going to take uh let's take three, why not?
There. B, where are you, B? There you are. We're taking that four and go one, two. >> Okay. >> Uh C is over here. We're going to go one, two and then automatically shoot over here. Remember, that is just the way the staircase functions. >> You don't have to move. >> have to. >> But I'm going to be a shoe in.
>> to. >> Um and there is no exit this way, by the way. >> No. No, yes. It's up there. It's here, here, and here are the exits. So, I left off at C. D is going to come down one, two and hang out with six. E is going to take suitcase two and go one, two. So, they're all hanging out. And then >> G. >> And then uh yeah, there with G.
And then F is going to take uh this five and go one, two, hang out here. And then G is going to take suitcase one and go >> Oh my goodness. >> one, two, just like that. >> Suitcase gymnastics. >> Yes, so who is who, who's going where? You can't interrogate all of them at once. >> That is true. >> Yeah.
Okay, so that's it. This card gets discarded and now it's back to you. Now remember, on this turn you can only move one space with them. >> Okay. >> Yep. >> Mhm. All right, well it's back to me. I'm playing it's a trap. So I place the trap token, which is that square with a bunch of lasers, on any space other than in front of a door, on a staircase, or where a suspect currently is.
And if a suspect enters a trap space with a briefcase, it is searched and the trap is removed. So detectives are not affected by the trap. So I guess I'll just place this here. >> That's a good spot. >> That way you have to go around. Like that. >> take the long scenic route around this thing right here.
>> Okay. >> All right, so as for my movement, um I just have to have a combination of four movements between the two detectives, which is fine because I can only move one with this detective and then this one will move three. Let's go one, two, three. >> Oh, very good. >> Right? It's the only >> So >> thing that makes sense.
>> Light switch is turned back on. >> All right. All right, draw cards. Now it's back to you. >> Okay, I'm going to play probably the most simple card I have. This is get moving. Uh there's nothing special about it other than everybody gets to move three spaces. So let's start with A. We're going to go one, two, three, stacking up there.
Uh B is over here. We're going to go one, two, three, just like that. C is where I see. There you go. We're going to go one, two, three and then bring the seven home with. >> Okay. >> Uh D is over here. We're going to go I want to split I want to make this person a little nervous. We're going to go one, two, three.
Uh E >> you Where did you go? >> Oh, sorry, is that a wall? >> Ah. >> That would be making that detective nervous. >> nervous. That'd be like a ghost. >> Yeah. >> Well, I don't want to stack up. Let's take it the long route then. We're going to go 1 2 3, just like that. >> Okay. >> You know, 1 2 3. >> Oh my goodness.
>> There's a lot of different options. Let's do that. E, we're going to move 1 2 3, so they're unfortunately going to get stacked up over here. >> The same spot? >> Same spot, yeah. That's not good cuz then everybody gets interrogated and searched. >> Very nice. >> Uh F, we're going to go the long way this way, 1 2 3 around.
>> Okay. >> Uh and then G, we're going to go 1 2 3. There we are. That is it. Final answer. All right, perfect. So, now I have three cards here. I do have the right to do this. I can spend all three of these to move all suspects up to one space. I will not do that. I will hold off. >> Okay. >> I'm going to hold off.
So, I'm going to draw a card. >> All right. It's Magnus back to me. All right, desperate times call for desperate measures. I'm going to play hot pursuit. So, this is just a movement card. It's six total movements between both of these detectives. >> Ooh. >> So, the way that I see it, I am 1 2 3 4 5 >> Okay.
>> or 1 2 3 >> 4 5. >> Yeah. >> This one gets me closer to this person and that room. So, maybe I'll move this way. 1 2 3 4 5. >> Mhm. >> So, I've entered a space with both a suspect and a briefcase, so I'm going to question and search both. So, now I am questioning suspect C and I'm going to open this briefcase.
But first, the questioning. Naveen, is suspect C either the thief or the accomplice? You have to answer truthfully. And if so, you have to tell me who. >> They are one of those two. >> Aha! >> I cannot believe >> to Solo. Solo is the >> Yeah, I thought it was going to be like a throwaway character over there.
>> That's amazing. Oh my gosh, I was getting really scared there. >> you want to know who that is? >> Okay, who? >> Let me just guarantee that I'm I'm not going to tell you the wrong thing. >> Thief or accomplice? >> be the accomplice. >> The accomplice, okay. So, the accomplice has been found. >> Has been found.
Now, this also means I will not get to interrogate C because I have found one of the three aspects. >> C is not a snitch. >> Well, let's see if C is holding the Hope Diamond, shall we? >> Oh my god. >> So, now we must open briefcase seven red. Okay, so that is not the Hope Diamond. So, either way, uh both get removed from the board >> Mhm.
>> because they are no longer going to be questioned and interrogated. >> accomplice point right now. >> So, yes, I will take the accomplice point. Let's just take that. >> Didn't think you were going to go for that. >> All right. >> So, that was five movement points out of your six. >> so I have to move my other detective a single movement.
>> Yes. >> Uh, is that the thief? Is that person the thief? Cuz you're trying to do this. >> What percentage did you think that was anything? >> No, nothing. I don't know. I have no idea. >> a throwaway one? >> I'm going to go I'm just going to go that way. What is that? >> I'm just going to head down that way.
I don't know. >> Okay. >> At least got one point. >> All right. Yeah, that's good. >> All right, that's me. So, that goes to you. Oh, I have to go. >> That was pretty good. >> Now, how exactly does your trap work again? Cuz I need to know what's going on over there. >> Oh, uh you >> This is why I keep that card out just until we resolve it.
>> Enter the trap space with a briefcase, then the briefcase is searched and the trap is removed. >> Okay. >> That's it. >> Okay, I'll play another get moving. So, this is the same very similar one that I did last time. So, it gives me three spaces. So, uh we're going to take A and A is going to move we're going to take A and move one, two.
So, they have to stop here at the trap? >> Um, if a suspect enters the trap space with a briefcase, it is searched. >> So, I would imagine they have to stop there. >> Okay. >> Yeah. So, it's searched. The briefcase is searched, not the suspect, right? >> Okay. So, would you like to search two? >> I'm I'm assuming it's going to not be the Hope Diamond cuz why would you just give it to me?
>> That would be a big blunder. >> Two out of the seven out. >> Frankly, so now the trap is done. >> Yeah. >> So, now I've cleared passage. >> Correct. >> That is done. So A is done. B we're going to go up 1 2 3. So I These these things are really obstacles here. So C has been caught unfortunately. So C is gone.
We're going to go D 1 2 3 3. >> Oh. >> Okay. E is going to go 1 2 3. So we're all going to hang out here. >> Okay. >> F we're going to go 1 2 3. >> Mhm. >> And G where are you? We're going to go 1 2 3 and hang out where E is also. So they're all going to be kind of stacked here. It's just far for me to reach but I'm just going to put this right there.
They're going to hang out. And this obstacle was not movable. >> No. >> That just helped me out. >> Very nice. >> There we are. >> All right. So finished? >> Yep. I got to put this card here. I will. >> You can try three of those. >> I'm going to try three of these out. So 1 2 3 these are going to go out.
I'll just toss it over here. And basically what this says is move all suspects up to one space away. So A will come into this space. Now they're all here. >> Mhm. >> They're all hanging out. B B will also technically be all together. So that everybody is stacked up at this door. Okay? I don't want to have to manipulate that like that.
C has been caught. D is going to go >> Oh wait no you have to actually move that. >> Okay yeah. >> So >> Sure. >> There's B. >> Yep. >> There's the suitcase. >> Okay thank you. >> Okay. >> D will go ahead and move up. >> Okay. >> E >> E is there. >> E is there. Now E is going to take briefcase number one out.
>> Okay. >> So E out and I believe briefcase number one is this one. >> Okay. So they both go in front of you. >> Yeah. So then they're out. >> Very nice. Congratulations. >> Thank you. So >> Paid actor E. >> Yeah. F we're going to move uh like this over here. >> Okay. >> And then G, we are going to just take G out with the four.
>> With the four. >> Yeah. >> All right. >> There we are. >> Everyone's coming out. >> They're all coming out. And actually Monique, the round is over right now. I got the E's and the diamond out in that last move. Yeah. >> I was hoping that it was maybe this one because I had a card that would allow me to um >> block the exit.
>> Yeah, I have a card called Barricade which lets me block one interior door for one turn and I could have blocked like this one if I was suspecting a briefcase number six, yeah, D. And then this detective could have come closer because the other suspects were able to move around really quickly this time.
>> able to like squirt out that way to the north. >> Mhm. There are other cards such as Topple which allow you to remove one of the displays from the board. I had another card in my hand called Taking the High Road which allows one detective to jump a display and land on the other side exactly two spaces away but I couldn't I just couldn't figure out the exact timing to use that.
>> Yeah. >> But like David said, the round is over because basically the thief and the accomplice and the Hope Diamond have all been accounted for. They've either left the museum or they've been caught. >> So I can I can show you right now. So my thief was E. >> Okay. >> They are the ones that actually brought out briefcase one.
So briefcase one. >> So two points for you. >> We got the clear diamond. >> Ah, you have the Hope >> The Hope Diamond. There we are. >> So there you go. So David scored six points. >> Six to your one, yeah. I'm I'm surprised you actually got that one. That was pretty good. >> It's rude. >> Well, I was trying I was trying to like be like, "Ah, you don't mind this person over here." and you came in and got him.
I was like, "Oh, shoot." >> Well, I got a point. >> did. That was good. >> So now we are going to switch roles. So we're going to clean up and we'll see you in a second. All right, we are all set up for round two. We have now switched roles so I'm going to be the thief. This is my card which I will not reveal this time.
>> Yes, okay. we've also removed the eight cards from each of our decks. So, I'm going to be going first this time, so let me just take one last quick look at this. Okay. >> Okay. >> All right, I'm going to go ahead and start by doing something really simple. I'm just going to get moving. >> Okay. >> So, everyone's going to move three spaces each.
So, A is going to go 1 2 3. >> Really? >> up suitcase one along the way. B, let's have B go through the stairs. So, B will pick up three. So, it's 1 2 >> Teleportation. >> Teleportation. Oh, this is kind of an important decision because of this thing. Let's go three in there. >> Okay. >> C will also join B.
So, 1 2 3. >> Okay. >> Right? >> Yep. >> D will go 1 2 3. E 1 2 3. >> Okay. >> Moving over here. We have F, who of course will go 1 2 3. And G, who's going to go to the last suitcase in 1 2 3. >> This This does not feel good. >> So, everyone has >> Everybody's like, yeah, paired up. >> Everyone's acting >> at their best >> best behavior.
>> Yeah. >> All right, that's it for me. Naveen, please take it away. >> All right, I will. Okay, I will play this card. It's called surprise. >> Okay. >> Pick one suspect. They cannot move on the next turn. >> Oh, okay. >> So, I am going to So, I'm going to take one of these tokens and I'm going to say suspect uh Do I really think A1 is Out of all options that you could have accidentally drawn >> Uh-huh.
>> A1 is like thief with diamond. >> Is A1 thief with diamond? >> A1, Naveen. Accomplice with diamond. It could be just an actor. It could be just a sham. Sham, I tell you. >> Sham, I say. >> Who are you the most giddy about moving? I'm trying to read body language here. >> I mean, there's seven. So, there were seven combinations.
Giddy would probably not be the word. >> Not the word, Okay. Uh I'm going to take a chance >> Okay. >> and say F shall not move >> Okay. >> on the next turn. >> F shall not move? >> Um So they they cannot move on the next turn. >> Yeah. >> Uh now each detective. So I started my detective here and then also the one that where I escaped last time.
So two and two. So we're going to go one two >> Okay. >> Okay. And then oh boy. Let's just do one two. >> I see one detective is laying down. And the other is standing. Is there a reason? >> No no. All right, for consistency let's just have them both stand up. Fine. >> Okay. >> Fine. >> Very nice. >> That's me.
Okay. >> you. So that goes back to me? >> All right, well it's back to me and I'm going to play barricade. So this is the one that allows me to use a blocked door marker. May I please have one of those, please? >> have blocked door markers? Yep. >> And I have to block a door anywhere on an interior wall temporarily for one turn.
So it cannot be an exit. So I'm going to block a block this door. So just for one turn. Come on guys. Make them run for it. And then um all Everybody else everybody every suspect can move two spaces. >> Okay. >> So starting with A. So let's just go let's faster. One two three four five six. >> Yeah.
>> Oh definitely that way, right? >> So one two. >> Okay. One is a decoy. Come on. >> That's A. >> You can't be it. >> B is actually going to go one two taking seven. So I dropped suitcase three to take suitcase seven. >> We're playing >> with the Raven's mind. >> Okay. >> C is actually going to run back with suitcase three.
So one And then I can move one more space, right? >> Yep. >> Let's just go two. >> Okay. >> D can go one two. E of course will go one two. F cannot move. And then G will go one two. So that's everyone. Now this gets removed cuz that's the one turn. And that's it for my turn. >> All right, very good.
>> And then I have two cards uh discarded here. And now it is to you. >> I'm hoping for the best with hot pursuit. So, hot pursuit. So, this is this is barred. >> Yeah. >> So, hot pursuit is nothing special, but I get six movement points. >> Yes. >> So, and I have to split them up. So, I'm going to go 1 2 3 4 5.
>> All right. >> And then we're also going to just do Let me just do this one. >> know, you entered here. >> Sure. >> So, it's actually probably at your advantage to question and search first. >> and yeah. So, question first, right? Uh question / search. So, um Monique >> Yes. >> Do we have an accomplice?
Do we have a thief? >> Negative. >> Neither. >> No accomplice, no thief. >> Show me the Show me the hope. >> In five? >> the hope diamond. >> Briefcase five? >> Of course not. >> Of course not. >> So, these come off the board. >> Correct. But >> But >> because those were um neither the thief the accomplice, you can interrogate that suspect.
Now, again, when interrogating, you're going to choose either the thief the accomplice or the hope diamond. And you're also going to choose an adjacent room. So, you're here, right? >> Yes. >> So, you're going to choose either this room or this room. >> Right. >> And basically ask >> Technically this room also.
This is This is technically part of it. >> Yeah. And you're basically going to ask if that choice is in either that room or the room that you're in. >> So, the hope diamond has the most amount of points. So, I'm going to ask, is the hope diamond in this room, Monique? >> Or this room? >> Or that room.
Yes. But there's Well, there's no Oh, briefcase obviously. So, is the hope diamond in this room? >> In that room? >> Yes. >> You want to know if the hope diamond is in either those rooms? >> Basically, is it in briefcase one or two, Monique? >> Yes. >> Yes. It's barricaded, I tell you. >> It's in there.
It's all All yours, Naveed. It's all yours. >> That means this is going to be one movement. So, I can just say forget these briefcases are here. >> Maybe. >> Was it really A1? Did you really draw A1? Come on. >> All right, so this gets removed cuz that was the one turn. >> Thank you. >> Right? >> Yes.
>> All right, so now it goes um back to me. All right, let's go double time. So it's double and one suspect may move up to four spaces. All others move one. >> The Hope Diamond is Okay, A. >> Let's move A1 out of here. One, two, three, exit. Four. So, coming over here. Everybody else moves uh one space each.
So, let's go >> Is B going to tease me with the >> I don't want to go closer to you. >> Okay. >> Let's go B. >> Yeah. >> Right? >> Yeah. >> Should I just >> Did everybody run for the hills? >> B, C. It's only one space. >> Yeah. >> D. Oops. >> No problem. >> Um E is going to move in here. >> Uh-huh.
>> We also have Where's F? >> Uh F was caught. >> Oh, F was caught. And then G will just move up one. >> Okay. >> All right. >> I see you. >> That is >> Are you That's your third card. Are you going to continue to to move? Should I move all suspects? >> one space. Now. >> Okay. >> I'll leave them. All right, that's it for me.
So now it goes to you. I mean >> All right, I'm going to play this one another surprise. I said I played with one surprise. Here's another surprise. >> Okay. >> Pick one suspect. They cannot move on the next turn. I It's got to be this one. The Hope Diamond was either one. >> Uh-huh. >> Which clearly you moved it four.
So, I'm assuming the Hope Diamond was A1, unfortunately. But E. >> Okay. >> You will stop just in case. >> Okay. >> All right, so they're not allowed to move and now I get four movements. >> Yeah. >> So, I'm going to move her. We're going to go one, two, three. >> Okay. >> And then this one I'm just going to move one.
>> One. >> Yeah. >> All right. Oh boy. That's why I have three cards here. >> You do. >> So I could I guess I guess I I could wait cuz you have to do this after you finish your >> Yeah. Mhm. >> All right, it's time to just get moving. So, we're going to run. Um B is awfully close. Awfully close to this detective.
So, >> You don't have to protect B. >> Going to go one, two, and three. You don't Oh, you don't know You don't know if anything escaped. >> My hope is it one is the Hope Diamond. >> Uh-huh. >> Probably is cuz you would use four. I mean, come on. I'm hoping the accomplice did it and I can catch the thief and win on points.
>> Like even if one were the Hope Diamond, which we don't know, >> It's either one or two. >> That That means one of them is still definitely in the museum. You know what I mean? >> Yes. >> So, all right. That was B. So, C is going to go one, two, three. >> Okay. >> Right? We have D. One, two, three.
E. Oh. >> Cannot move. >> Cannot move. >> Yes. >> Uh F, you have Oh, gee, where does G go? >> Everybody knows G is just an actor. Come on. >> One, two, three. >> Nobody's falling for G over there. >> All right. G is still a person. All right, that's it. >> You You could do this. >> Back to you. Up to one.
>> You've already drawn. It's over. >> I do. It's true. >> Well, all right, this is gone. This little stop footprints. Oh gosh. All right, I got to go for it. I mean, I got to I got to hope for the best. Hot pursuit six. >> Okay. >> So, if I go one, two, three, four, five. >> can get there. >> I'm going to I'm going to do it.
Five. All right, interrogation time. >> Interrogation time. >> Monique. >> Yes. >> That's your real name. All right. So, >> Um let's find out about this Hope Diamond you've left in two with your decoy four move on the one. Yes. So, the Hope Diamond is in Monique's possession, clearly. >> Uh-huh. >> As evidenced by the deductive reasoning.
>> Uh-huh. Uh-huh. >> Well, that's bad. >> Okay. >> But, E, >> Mhm. >> are you a thief or an accomplice, E? >> I'm not. >> You're neither. >> is not >> Don't, don't, don't. >> has been handsomely >> handsomely. >> So, >> Well, >> interrogation time. >> I'm going to I'm going to ask, is Well, I know the Hope Diamond's gone.
So, >> So, you're going to choose 50/50. >> or accomplice. >> Mhm. >> Monique, is the thief present in this room over here, this grayish one? Thief? >> Yes. >> I'm on the trail, but I'm just like >> been yours, maybe. >> Oh, boy. >> Could have been yours. You went that way. Could have gone that way.
>> I had to take the chance at the Hope Diamond. I We all knew you'd left with the Hope Diamond, A1. >> movement with this detective, just so you're aware. >> We're going to go one. We're going to get there. >> All right. >> All right. Well, >> Well, it is >> good knowing you. >> All right. Well, I'm going to play slow and steady.
So, each suspect can toss a briefcase up to two orthogonal spaces away, not through walls, and destroy them. >> that in my hand during our last play. Yeah. >> all move two spaces. So, A is out. B, let's just have them toss them all. >> tossing suitcases. >> toss. Toss the suitcases. >> Even though we know the Hope Hope Diamond is gone?
>> Yeah. >> You're just going to create a mess? >> We're just going to create a mess. Toss. >> Toss. >> Toss. Just to show what it would look like. >> angry you are. >> Yeah, we're just tossing them. The jig is up. The gigs The gig is up. All right. So, now the important part is everybody can move two spaces.
So, B, let's just go. Um let's just go right away. Actually, one, two. C, one, two. D, one, two. E and F are out, right? So, then just G. Was G here? One, two. We'll just do that. All right. Now, this is my fifth card. I'm going to discard one two three four five of them to move one suspect up to two spaces.
So, truly >> Is D going to move two spaces? >> D tosses the suitcase away. It says, "Haha." And runs >> Thief D >> out the door. >> That was where I started. I could have just stood there the whole time. >> I know. The game >> Dang it. >> has ended because >> Let me guess. >> Diamond location. One. >> A1.
Dang it. >> Thief, it was A1. >> There's no way you drew A1. >> Thief was D. You could have had the the sweet sweet two points. And A was you. >> to get to there. >> What is funny is had you captured D, you would have won. >> I know. >> You would have won because the thief is worth more points. >> When I When I had the When I played the hot pursuit just on this last turn and went five Was I within five of D?
>> I'm not I I feel like no. I I don't think it was that simple. You would have had to purposely said, "I'm going for D." and gone this way and abandoned that other room. You know what I mean? >> Yeah. I I had I knew that diamond was out. I knew that suitcase one. Why did I go for it? >> You would You proclaimed it.
You proclaimed it in the very beginning. >> The first movie you did, I'm like, "Oh, She's got A1, doesn't she?" >> So, I have the accomplice. >> points. >> The thief and the hope diamond. >> What's your total score? >> That's it. That's the end of the game. So, I have four five six seven eight. >> Eight to my six.
>> Eight to six. >> You know, that's not that bad. I didn't get walloped. >> Yeah, you didn't get walloped. It was hard to get >> You did play You You do make a good thief, yeah. >> the detective, yeah. It was It was on the on the tougher side. Now, um let's just see if there were any cards that evaded us because again, you remove eight cards at the start of the game.
Like, we didn't have access to the secret door. I think I did as the detective, but I never got to play it. >> Yep. >> Um this lets you place a new door anywhere on an interior wall. Um this one lets you swap any number of briefcases that are in the same room. So, if you have like several uh suspects in the same room then then you can sort of swap them.
You did lights out, false alarm, up to two suspects may move up to four spaces each. Uh, there's a lot of like swapping of stuff as the thief. And I know there was one, this one, the scene of the crime, one suspect can run back to the center room and stop anywhere inside. >> Yeah. >> Uh, similar to the deductive, there's their cards that let you jump over these obstacles.
>> them, yeah. >> Or remove one of the the displays, exactly. I know as a detective you have a card that lets you move through >> Yeah, there's that. There's the trap one that you played out. There's like one that says like sound the alarm, yeah. >> But again, because you remove those eight cards each time you play you don't know which combination of cards will actually be in your deck.
>> Right. Well, there you have it. That is Diamond Heist. Now, if you have any questions about the gameplay you saw here, feel free to leave them in the comments down below.
