0:00 this video is brought to you by the three-minute board game patrons keep us Independent by supporting us on patreon Kia ora koutou and welcome to Clank in space in about 3 minutes it has no solo mode, it's a game for two to four players, playing time is long and it's a moderately complex game you are space pirates and you have the ultimate Heist planned sneak on board Lord Eradicus ship steal his artifacts and Escape, what could possibly go wrong? the game ends once all players have managed to sneak their way to a treasure, claim it and then make it off the ship either that or you run out of health and are eliminated if you at least make it back to this section your points are scored and the winner is the surviving player with the most points deck building: you start the game with a basic deck of cards and can add better ones to it push your luck: the closest Treasures are worth the least amount of points play a turn each player starts by placing their meeples into this space you then shuffle your deck and draw five cards, you may play these cards in any order but you must play them all the top left corner is its faction, blue is its skill value and is used to buy new cards swords are used to defeat enemies and bypass guards and boots are used to move about this card is worth three victory points and cost seven skill to buy when you first acquire the card it also heals you and this symbol activates the bad guys this other card has both an effect when you play it and an effect that triggers when you have another card with the same faction when you're in a market you may spend seven credits to buy an item these items include key cards and teleporter access there are also these green hacking spaces, you'll need to place both of your markers on one of these in two different board sections in in order to access the final board

1:31 boots lets you move a space and you may only move into this space once you have unlocked it as it is red boarded you cannot move any more this turn moving to a space with a reward in it gives you that bonus now this line has the foot marker on it which means it Takes Two Boots to move down now we can either claim this treasure now or move on the next path has the lock icon on it and we will need a key card to get by the key card is not discarded we also claim the reward in that room and the next apce has a guard icon on it which means we need to spend a sword or take a damage this space is a teleporter room and lets us move to another teleporter room on the map if we have the access card for it there's also a tram which can move you around quickly if you enter one of these spaces grab a crystal, there's a limited number of these but they interact with some cards every Clank card you play adds one of your markers here although some cards can remove Clank you can buy cards from the market by spending skill or by spending swords on some cards once you have finished gaining new cards replace them and if any of the new ones have this symbol resolve an attack add all the Clank cubes to the draw bag then draw cubes as shown on this track black ones are discarded and the ones in your color go on your damage track this track here advances each time someone gains their access token and once each player steals a treasure the top of the track has red cubes that damage everyone and this marker which blocks the Tram why would you like this game?

2:45 Clank in space is one of the many Clank games and it's the first and only one I've played I picked it solely because I prefer science fiction to Fantasy in most regards still the theme works here if you don't mind the kind of cringe reference humor in the game because the game play is absolutely killer I've said it before deck builders are at their best when they are a away to do something in game and in Clank the rising power that comes with the mechanic is counterbalanced by the game trying to kill you more and more as it progresses so the game has great pacing starting you off slowly we have the whole ship to explore in tons of time before the ultimate total panic at the end as you try to escape the best thing about this game is that you can have the most points and the best deck and still lose because you got greedy however, some folks will hate the fact they can be eliminated and in general how nasty the game can get at the end there's not much to do once you've escaped or been eliminated either you do get to draw enemy cubes on your turn but that's about it Clank has multiple versions and I'm informed that Clank catacombs might be the best of them and for another deck builder with some action try tyrants of the underdark Clank! in! space! needs more hog throb, gold medal game and you enjoy this video hit the notification button like share and subscribe to the channel
