Woof Days & Cat Days
Transcript
Hello. So, I am back today to talk about another two games from 25th Century's import collection that they sent to me, and that is Woof Days and Cat Days. So, this one's all about dogs, and this one's all about cats. Each one plays two players, but if you were to have two copies of one or the other, you could then play with three or four players, but mixing the two probably wouldn't work because the cards do play differently. And the games really are essentially the same except in cat days you have a cat tree card. So in this game you are trying to get the most points and the end game is triggered by whoever fills up their week first with dogs. So out on the table you will have Monday through Sunday. That is not how I consider a week to work. I think it goes Sunday to Monday, but that is neither here nor there. So you have this would be my week. This would be my opponent's week. And then we each are going to get five cards from the deck and they are going to have different adorable dogs on them that all can be placed in different ways. And if they don't have dogs on them, then they are an ability card. So on my turn, I simply get to play out a card from my hand. If I can't or don't want to, then I draw a card from the deck and play goes to the next person. So, like this one, the mixed breed, says play on any day in any play area, and it's worth five points, which is great.
Then we have the German Shepherd, which lets me have a great ability that I can play it on top of anything, but it's only worth zero points. Then there are abilities like stuffed toys. Swap any dogs in any play area with any dogs on the same day in another play area. So, essentially, I could swap my cards for my opponents. So, as we're going along, we're filling up our different days of the week. And then this turn maybe I draw and then they go, "Oh, I'm looking like you dash. I love it." And this one says, "Play to the immediate right of any dog in any play area on any day." So, it would have to go next to an existing dog. So, you can see that as your week fills up, it gets a little bit trickier to place some of the dogs because they have, you know, restrictions and requirements on them, but nothing that makes it super difficult. I think this is a great game to play with kids. I think this game makes a great gift. I love that you can have multiple copies and play with more people. It looks fantastic. It's really straightforward, really simple. Pull it out, play a 10 to 15 minutee game. I think both of these are a lot of fun.
So, that is Woof Days and Cat Days. Let me know if you've played these, what you think of them. Give me a like and a follow, and I'll keep bringing you more board game content. Thanks. Bye.
