Transcript
Hello everyone, this is Synne.
And this is Johannes.
And you are watching Board Gaming Rambling.
And welcome to the last day of Spiel. It's Sunday, Sunday morning. We are walking around before the halls open, picking up a couple more games. We're soon done. Yes.
We We are not ready to go. We have We still have a stuff to do for the day. Today is like back-to-back meetings until 1:00 and then we're going to be at the booth area. Booth area, I love the booth area. We're going to do demos for 4 hours. And then we're going to play some games and do some chatting at home. That's the whole That's the whole video basically. That's I just said the whole thing that we're going to do today. Oh, now it starts. Well, usually usually
party. Usually this video ends with us going home because we do that on Sundays. Hello David.
And it's David.
It's David. Have a great day, David. A wild David appeared. Today Yeah, we usually go home today. But this year we're going home tomorrow and we're also doing the live pick up video of all the games that we picked up on the fair. So
Yeah.
please join us for that. That's tomorrow, not today. Tomorrow, yes, I said so. Oh yeah, I know. And so basically we because of the flights changed. So usually we go back like the middle of the day today. Mhm. But most of the Norwegians have already left. Uh because of the flights have changed. But we wanted to stay a bit longer so we're going to stay until tomorrow as you just said. I repeated everything and now let's go.
I am Johannes and I am weird. So far it's been a chill morning. It's uh 12:00 and we've been having some meetings and I've also done some just looking around, not looking for anything in particular, just walking around without a suitcase and chilling, which has been really nice. And I feel like it's your uh typical Sunday plus this year. I don't feel like there's few people but it doesn't feel like super overcrowded either.
So now I'm going to Now I'm going to grab a quick bite to eat before we start demoing at 1:00. Look at all these people leaving the mess. They're leaving Spiel.
I love that you're just standing there with your balloon. It's so that we will find him later.
Yeah, actually just look for the balloon. We are back at the Airbnb playing some board games and we got Taylor Reiner here playing some more games with us. The first game we played was a trick-taking game. It's called On Stage. Do you want to talk about On Stage? What do you think about the game, Martin? You forgot that we played it, right? I I was scared to mess up but yeah, I I forgot we played it. It was a game and am I allowed to say that we didn't finish it? Yes. Yeah. Yeah. We were tired. But we we tried it. It was okay. I had more fun with the other games we played. Mhm. Yeah. Over to you. What do you think? This is the Yeah, mini. Taylor's trick-taking table. If you haven't seen the channel, go check it out.
Yeah, at five it was um there's a lot going on. It was like moving so many pieces every actually like maybe like five times each trick.
Mhm. Especially cuz so many people are off suit and you like move the pieces around so much. Um but yeah, maybe at a different player count it would be so much fun. Well, the next thing we played was One Round. Yeah. Which I didn't feel like lost it one round. I don't don't know why don't still don't know why it's called One Round but it's basically kind of a mix between hard to get kind of and uh Landmarks that's what it reminded me of. I really liked it. What did you think about the game, Steinunn? Well, I did enjoy it and we played for two rounds actually, not just one round. Uh yeah, I I haven't played Landmarks but uh the explanation looks similar so yeah, I I enjoyed it. What did you think about it?
I I liked it. You want to say something more? I'm fine. I liked it. What did you think, Reiner? Yeah. Yeah. Sorry. I I I I liked it. Yeah, it's uh it's interesting how it can get really hard if all the numbers start grouping up. But uh we lost once and then won once so Oh, nice. a good a good mix. Well, we kind of figured it out after the first round and we we tried to be a bit more ready. It was kind of breezy after that actually. That was Oh, yeah. Yeah, breezy. Easy. I don't have a outro to this segment. Here we are at the end of Spiel 2025. We have packed our suitcases, we thrown away the trash, we have made it nice. We're going to leave early tomorrow morning for the airport. But it's been a great week. Yes. I think we all have enjoyed ourselves. We have gotten games, we have met nice people. It's been just like the experience that I want to have.
So I'm going to ask Steinunn a question because this has been your first time in Essen and more specifically at Spiel. So in a couple of sentences or five or maybe 60 sentences, how was your like overall experience of going to Spiel? It's been fantastic. Very weird. I've never been to anything like this before so to see so many people with the same interests as as I have and running around trying to buy some more games even though I have enough already. It's it's kind of strange but also very fun. So I I've enjoyed myself but uh yeah, might not be returning next year. We'll see. It's it's it's it's a long week and there's a lot of things going on. It's expensive. So Martin, it's your second time. Yeah.
Uh was it as good as your first time? Yeah. I would say that. Okay. So that is great, Martin. What was your best experience? Oh. It's hard to choose one.
Mhm. But um like I said, I was all I was almost tired from smiling because people were so happy.
Mhm. So sharing six halls of games together with fellow enthusiasts
Yes. was a very nice experience and also teaching games to people, laughing, playing, just had fun. What about you, Synne? What was your favorite moment of the fair so far?
Mhm. I have several. In general, I've enjoyed myself a bunch. I would highlight the escape room that we did the first day. That was amazing. Uh and it Epicurioso. So check that out. Highly recommended. And also meeting Rado is an obvious highlight. It's like um board gamer's dream come true, I think.
For you, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Also we ended up talking 10 minutes about Vision and Ice because of my profession. So that was kind of cool. And what about you, Johannes? Everything, I would say. Like for me it's the whole thing. Like I I'm thinking about this a couple of times throughout the week when I'm walking through the halls. I feel like I feel at home here. And also I'm starting to feel like not not like this is not like only not only like this is where we belong in here for gamers. It's a great place to be but also because I've been here so many times. So it's like it feels like I know this place. You all know I'm not the best finding directions.
a compass.
But it's interesting when I walk the gallery especially it's like I feel like I've been there so many times throughout many years so it feels like the same each year. And you get a ownership. Yeah, but it kind of feels like the the feelings I have is like this could also have been 5 years ago. Like it's the same thing in a positive way. Uh and now of course the great thing about this is that this is a trip that just keeps on giving. Because we're not going to go home and then it's done. We're going to go home and then we're going to play new games. And luckily we might be able to return as well because we are young. That is true. We're going to go many times and run around with all the energy in the world. It's going to be fantastic. And you know, tomorrow if you want to see it, we are going to do a live video.
These two will not be there sadly. But we're going to go through all the games that we got so you can see what is coming from us on the channel in the coming months. So it's already on the channel. You can go and check it out if you want to see it. But I think that's going to wrap up this last vlog for this year. So thank you so much for watching. You can subscribe to the channel if you want to because it's fun and free and cool. Makes you happy. And that's going to be the end of the video. Thank you so much for watching. I'm Johannes.
I'm Synne. I'm Martin. And I'm Steinunn. And you've been watching Board Gaming Ramblings and bye-bye.
