Krosmaster Arena Game Overview - Gen Con 2013
Transcript
Hi, I'm Eric Price with Japanime Games and we're premiering the release of Crossmaster Arena here at Gen Con. Uh, this game is a miniatures board game that uh you get all these little anime figures and you're trying to attack your opponent's characters. When you knock out their their characters, you get these victory points. And the object of the game is to win all the victory points. Every character has different stats. This is the queen of the tofus. She's right here. And her stats, uh, she has movement points. She can move four squares. She's got, uh, hit points, meaning she can take eight points of damage, and six action points. The action points are used for her spells. So, she could do each one of these spells once or one of them twice. One of her spells is to summon the tofus. The tofus are these little bird creatures that also have their own stats, and they can, in turn, attack other characters.
She gets bonuses if she's attacking another character. So, if she were here attacking this character, she would get plus one for each adjacent tofu. So, there's many things like that that add to the game, the strategy. Uh, this is the king of the king of the gobbles here. The king of the gobbles summons the gobble token right here, which again has his own stats. So, in the game, you get these eight base figures. And the figures generally you're going to play, if you're playing a two-player game, four on four. And the characters uh would be these four here. You'd have your stats. You can build your armies however you like by draft or choosing which ones you want. And different ones can summon different things. This this character here, Badaboom, can summon these water bombs, which would explode next turn and do damage. Um you can also pick up these coins. When you pick up the coins, they're called comma coins. Uh you you collect them. Once you have 10 of them, you can trade them in for victory points as well. Uh just like if you were to knock somebody out, the uh different characters have unique attacks. Anatomy has this attack called uh transposition. Um or actually, I'm sorry, that's for the targeted ally assault. So, she has this target attack.
If she were to attack Lil Healey here, when she did the attack, they would change spots. And that can be useful if you have some other characters over here, then they could do an attack because you're bringing her in. Um, there's line of sight rules. You can't shoot through trees. Uh, you can go on crates, which gives you plus one to a range attack. Um, you can shoot over bushes and then you can't move through other figures. So, basics that are similar to many miniatures games. On top of that, we also have special items available at conventions. These are crates that are resin. Um, these are resin trees you can get and they would replace the cardboard trees that you get in the game like that. These are also metal victory points that stack up. They're very cool. Have a nice clinking sound to them. Um, and then we've got uh these resin bushes as well. Um, that's the basics. Um, it's out now. The game retails for $80. And, uh, there's also expansions which, uh, have four figures each. There's going to be 42 total figures available from the base game and all the expansions this year. Uh that's that's pretty much it. You can see it at anime games.com.
