Sand Art Board Game Unboxing | DaniCha
Hi everyone, Danielle here. I'm doing an unboxing of Sand Art. This is a game published by 25th Century Games who sent me this review copy to cover on my channel. This is designed by Corey Jordan. Um, very minimalistic uh cover art here. Um, but this is a game for two to five players, 25 to 45 minutes long, ages 10 and up.
Um, I am very interested to see how uh there could be a solo mode for this. Um, I believe that somebody is currently working on an unofficial solo mode. So, excited to check that out. But also, I might just give it a try just for a um, you know, a very basic solo mode that I typically try to make for myself so I can play solo.
But, um, yeah. So, I I might also do a two-player video as well at some point. And if you're not already subscribed, please consider subscribing so that you don't miss out on any of my future unboxings or playthroughs or even live streams, which I occasionally do. All right, so let's uh get to unboxing this.
All right, so we have the rule book. Um, actually not very thick. Flip through a few pages. Okay, we have this really thick Wow, look at that. Pretty thick uh stack of paper. Um it looks like this. Just a bunch of different sheets cuz you are going to be using these. We have plenty of colored pencils.
So, we'll open one of the packs. Um, looks like this one is missing a point. So, that's okay. We'll just have to sharpen it. But uh yeah, looks like a bunch of them may have just on shipment, lost its uh its tips, but that's okay. So, there's a total of six different colors. Um, yellow, blue, red, orange, green, and purple.
There's four sets of those. And I had to decide if I might try to print or 3D print some holders for these pencils so that it's a little bit more uh protected and also just able to be organized a little more nicely. Been getting into 3D printing lately. And if you're a subscriber on my channel, you probably have seen some of those videos.
So yeah, you get four packs. Um it does come with a sharpener which is helpful. Just have to do that over a garbage can. An extra baggie I see. And then these thick wooden hand symbols. One in each of the player colors. And then you just see how thick they are. Yeah. And um I believe you'll be using these to identify or mark which actions you take.
And then here we have a wooden sand art bottle. It's been so long since I've done a sand art activity. This is really pretty and uh fairly large, I would say. And then we have two decks of cards here. So, um let me see if there's a way to open this easily. Does not look like there is. So, we'll grab our knife and we'll just flip through some other cards.
Okay. Well, that was a little bit of a fail because it looks like I didn't open it much. Okay. There we go. So, this is pattern objectives, a color objective, fivepoint layers, and then let's open this other deck of cards just to make sure we're covering all of them off. Five point layers, threepoint layers, and then uh looks like we have workbench cards.
So, let's start start with workbench cards. So, lots of iconography here, but looks like these will be uh just kind of taking colored sand. Um, and we'll take a closer look at the um at the sheet after after going through the cards. Let's look at the pattern objectives. We also have this first finished card which gives you five points.
So, if you finish your guess your your your sheet first, you win or you know win, you get five points. Um, apologies. so bright in this this room. Throwing off some of the color. There we go. Like that should help a little bit. Um these are the pattern cards that you'll get points for if you fulfill them.
Very creative. We have the fivepoint layer cards. threepoint layer cards and lastly color objective cards. So a total total of six. So most colors you'll get points for. Okay. All right. So yeah, looking more closely at this sheet here. Um I guess this is kind of like a flip and right, uh you you're going to total your points for layer points and pattern points, which is, you know, related to the cards we just saw.
You get to have a shop name and logo written here, your final score written there, and this is your sand art bottle. You'll be using your colored pencils to color in or shade in these little spaces um depending on the uh sand that you're collecting throughout the game. So, um yeah, that'll be pretty interesting to to play and and uh develop some really cool looking sand art.
All right. Well, that is all there is for sand art unboxing. Um let me know if you've played this one before. I believe it is currently shipping to backers right now. This is a 2025 release. Um, and depending on when you're watching it, uh, people are still receiving the game. So, very excited to cover this on my channel.
Um, I'll try my best to do a really basic solo playrough just so that I can play the game for you guys on video. And yeah, um, thanks so much for watching. Bye.
