ah in this video we're going to show you a one-round playthrough for billionaire rumor describing what we're doing to give you a flavor for how this game flows we are using a prototype of the game so the rules and components they see here it may not be final coming up [Music] hi it's time and still are from people University now let's get to our playthrough for billionaire rumor designed by Isaac new manche and Ivan poon and published by headline studios hi everyone and here we are for our one round playthrough for billionaire Barry Mann and we are actually going to play two rounds through for you here I think that will give you a good flow for how this game plays yes what were you going to do eat out so I'm the first player and I'm playing as red and I'm the second player with what and we are both dead unfortunately oh so we are in the afterlife and we're basically in an afterlife Casino trying to win souls to bring ourselves back essentially so each start the game with five souls and a major part of what we're going to try to be doing here is manipulating these three dolls that's these white figures here represented by these boards around Hong Kong to pick up items and you can see there's four different types of items they're all over the place I just put I lay it down as quickly it's a this is represented the creepy clown business represented the creepy girl and this doll what a sense a creepy doll what wait what crazy crazy creepy crazy doll thank you hmm so you'll see how this manipulation happens as we go into the later stages of the round that's right so you are going to explain it more on the second round when it becomes max more sense as well yeah well sort of describe it as we go along and hopefully in the second round will be very clear what we're trying to achieve all right let's do this thanks with the pull letting face planning phase so this is where we can do transaction to buy things so the things we can buy our souls and dice dice help us do actions and I want another action so I'm going to buy one die it's a six now sixes it's not services are more useful later and so I'm going to spend one to re-roll my 6i as well we'll do that the same so pay one to get this up sorry it's a two that's okay yeah that's it there's an option to buy soul but I'm not gonna do this for this round yeah that's a good way of trying to data convert money into souls because there's different ways of getting money because whoever's got the more soul wins the game yes the second phase of each round is the buy-in phase and what happens here is we're going to see which dolls are going to move so in a two-player game first thing that happens is we roll three dice from the supply and whichever dolls these diets correspond to gain a movement die and it's one two three four five six so there's two there's four and there's six each of them gets once there's gonna be movement they may they may still not all move yes because we choose who moves correct but they've each got the chance of moving and we don't know how many they move because just gets wrong this is the other moving one or two this is basically a d2 dies but yeah wait you know half-life wanted to okay now each of us has to spin one of our own dice to give a movement Dyer to another doll so now looking around yeah I'm going to spend this three yep to give the long-haired doll it's this one here another movement died so she will move at least once so I will also do that I'll give this one number six thought these the grim plan the crown was just this last one here yeah that's the buying phase next we come to first betting so each of us has this is this part of the boss with this part here yes so each of us has three betting chips say there's one for each of the dolls they can see yeah get my hand out of the way you can see they match the colors of the dolls thing what we are doing is betting on the outcome of this rounds objective this rounds objective is shown here it's which doll picks up the most sardine tins is it picks up or have the most audience either picks up in this round or in later rounds has picked up through the game correct you'll see how that happens in a little bit but we have to look at how the sardines are laid out on the board look at how the how the dolls are laid out what we think is going to happen so I'm going to and we get a one discount on our steak as well in first betting so I'm gonna place this bit here that spots now occupied the steak is two souls but in first betting I get a discount of one so I have to pay one soul to place that if I'm correct if the doll I put here has the fewest sardine tins then I will get four souls that's my steak back excluding the discount plus what's shown there so that's how I'm gonna get souls mmm interesting count all right so my go I will place I was gonna go they um you have fun you took my spot but that's okay I will do mine I will do this one here over here okay that's so that's also cost me one so that's it okay that's the first bet it was pretty no action starting from you yes so we can each take up to two actions by spending dice and each die number has a different action associated with it see them on these help cards here I won't take you through them all now but these are the different actions here which was why I was reroll in six earlier because I didn't like the action for the six yeah not for this stage of the game I might put it here temporarily alright so my first action I'm gonna spend my four what have you got oh I've got two three and five you have one two and four I'm gonna spend before I'll spend this for the action there is to move a doll one space so I'm going to move this style here the old picks up the golden what's it called the tail yeah and I'm going to place that yeah excellent okay my god I'm going to try my luck with heavy rolling I mean with roll and then get the bonus hopefully I'll get something good so action number five is to roll a die and Tector action one east plus three money three money so number five is basically playing for money we had a diet with a die roll yes okay back to me I'm gonna play my one which lets me bet again so I'm gonna have to get all three of my bits out hmm now looking around what I want to do let's look at the colors I've got left yeah when I look at mine as well I am going to bet yeah so that is gonna cost me one and if I get it right I'll get back to okay my second action I choose to do actually number three which is to reroll and get what of action that I roll on something good one so that's the bet again so yeah you can bet again and when you do this bit once again you pay the full stage but you can go on a space that's already occupied oh I can't okay so I can go to wherever you are but there's no discount correct okay I will do this one and pay to solve okay all right so we're done with our actions now we move to step five which is last betting we can each bet our remaining disk which will be at full stake once again so looking at what I've got here I'm going to bet two souls on this space Wow very good all right I'm going to bed I'm going to look bet money just get the one money here I'm going to put it here okay okay so remember that the ties in this are unfriendly mm-hmm so it's not possible for two dolls to get one but you are hedging that one of those two will get one like Karen yeah I'm answering that both of them will get two yes okay okay and these numbers up the top here those are important but you will see that shortly okay next step is movement so in the movement step we go back and forth choosing these dice rolling them and then moving the dolls around I'm going to begin by rolling for the clown to see so I can move two spaces with the clown mmm 1 2 then I pick up these 2 items I can put them wherever I want and again the position they're in it's actually you'll see it's not going to matter in this round but it will impact our number of souls and so I'm gonna put them there for reasons I'll explain later the other thing is in two players we've only got the left two spots on these tracks available so 3 and above not in this game ok my go yoga roll this one one moving right here this one picks up a tin of sardines yes inside in what it's cost is actually I'm printed it's the rules has been updated since the bots been printed so the solder is actually minus 1 and the who is minus 2 yeah but we'll see that in a sec yes you going light my second action I'm going to take this one so that's a one so with one I'm going to go up there mmm not picking up any items no I'm just gonna quickly look what I have put in there okay I will choose this one one unfortunately not going anyway teleport to a phone booth what doesn't go anyway yeah yep okay and then this one is not used okay that's the end of movement now we go to rewarding and so this is a two-step process this is where we're going to get souls for the goods that are in the column of each doll where our meeple is located we haven't really spoken about our meeples at the moment they're down here at one hunts but we're going to move them based on this track so we flip all of these over so Stella moves up one on the track moves up in theory three on the crazy doll track but remember we're only using the first two spaces on each row so she can't go any further yes and yeah I could go through this step by step but the fact is that we're all on the positive side and so we're all going to move that one step so we had to just jump ahead and do that but essentially that's what we were that's why we were doing there we were moving up one step for being on the right hand side if you're playing with a fight with more players especially up to five you'll like this full track to play with and that'll be the number of steps you move yes all right let's purchase office so then then we score souls based on all the items in the column of our meeple and this isn't going to influence the game because we're in the same column essentially up here nothing happens here we've got one golden tail so we each get two souls for that thank you and here there's a golden tail worth two souls and with negative one so we each get one so yes okay that's step 7 finally we have step 8 so what will happen there is that first we move all the items that were picked up on the bottom row up to these item tracks so these will accumulate throughout the game then we look at this rounds objective so this this one here on the top row not that any of us were in the column it counts for step 7 but a doesn't count in step 8 so now we look at our objectives these two both have one tin of sardines they have the most Wow you're so glad you won that one yeah so each of them counts as being second well done and I bet on that happening in both cases so I get double that steak which is four souls yes and I get double that steak which is two money well damn can't can't you down well fellas bets were wrong they're nothing for me unfortunately and we've got this we both were right so forth so leach yes or Salvage for that well does that okay let me get our tokens back and that's the end of the round so hopefully you can now see how moving these dolls around is targeting these objectives and how sort of the early phase placements will impact the later the later phase placements so we're going to play a second round for you and you know I'm the first layer now still is the first player now we would we would refill the board with items if it were close to empty which it clearly isn't at this point these tokens on the top row moved one step to the right so that keeps that bit active and we flip the new objective so this time we've got a reverse objective oh so you can see it's fewer on top so this is mobile phones whichever doll has the fewest mobile phone we'll be first second Pierce will be second third first almost will be third once again ties are unfriendly so if there are multiple that have the most there will be there all right so now we go to planning I would like to buy at two dice this time place so that cost me three hmm rolled is now three and six okay very good do you want to re-roll this um I would not like we're all that thank you okay now I've got seven I think I need dice more than souls so I'm also going to spend sorry copying you again I got me the first round dude I'll buy to us two and four I can deal with that hmm that case the plenty face now bye-bye and so we roll the three communal dice first to see which dolls will move so crazy doll gets to dice and the clown gets one and then we each give up one of our bus I will give and die to their creepy doll you go crazy what's the crazy dog sorry okay so I can completely robbed this one of movement with that adds a little bit of certainty turn around yeah you have you had the forward die there if you want to use it force balls are pretty handy as actions as well let you move or die so I'm gonna spend this to its give a Fourth Movement thigh Wow to the crazy doll so even though there's three spaces if there's no limit on how many dice a doll can have okay first betting so I think I will pay you one soul and put it yeah so that's the one you think you'll have the fewest and you think it will be the outright fewest all right I'm going to bet here so it's a one discount which means I don't have to spin any Souls and I'll get two back if I rise very good all right and next it's action factions I have a six which lets me to discard an item it's not very helpful at the moment I don't really think I need to discount anything yeah it's not gonna it's not gonna impact this round yes so I will do now that's up to two so I can just to pass if I want to write but I will do this yep so I will do this again like my face action don't have a low five five is the so you roll again and you get some money whatever a defense six you lose some money six is the bad result it costs you one I know one money can't me all right I have two and a four so I'm going to move my white doll it's gonna go straight there and grab that phone okay yeah that's on the crazy doll mm-hmm here yeah and oh yeah I do that because now now I know there's only one doll that can get phones so that's actually pretty helpful now only half one died I not gonna do my second action although my first action was not the best so it's spectra turned do you want to do your second action okay so my second action it's a two legs it without theis so hopefully I'm gonna get some money with my two I can move Stella on one of these dolls try and I think this is the if I move her there and she doesn't move back she loses misses out on the souls that I'm getting from that item hmm very interesting okay so that's the action phase now the last betting yep all right I will try to put my bet on this one cost me one soul I'm quite short on money and I have no dice so I really want to get in on some money I think so I'm going to yeah yep cost me Tony yeah hopefully that's a safe bet okay so that is the last betting now movement try to move some things so I'll take this one one okay and all you have there there's no other choice but to take that one you have to write you yes I will have to choose that one all right for the crease you do lose one we'll move on to the fundus okay okay my last one nice this one yep one Gracie doll warm in here okay okay - - with my - I'm gonna go one to the space for the phone booth oops so sort of data back and forth there a bit and then jump down here you know you're golden tail and a poo and then I'm going to distribute them like so and because of course what I'm hoping here is that I know where I've moves all this if Stella has not spent a negative one there she's gonna lose a lot of souls from being okay it's not this rewarding okay so let's build the tension so I don't move on the red track I move backwards on the purple track of course Stella moves forward I was like oh and then you had that dies what was that yeah number two it was like you gonna do something here mm-hmm and I'm back there yeah unfortunately I didn't I so that one is gonna hurt so I get to for the tails and one for the one for the phone yeah I got three souls you lose four souls for the two through so that's that could be a gamebreaking moment that's good we both get two souls here for the golden tail and then down here I lose one soul for the tin of sardines then all these items these parents and the really strong position - yeah this game it looks it looks really cute but it's a lot of thinking here you know you have to connect that and then what do you think people is your opponent is bluffing it's very interesting um gameplay here yeah you've got a lot of dimensions to play with across them down alright then we do the the results of the bets so second second because again ties are unfriendly so because this is going from fewest to most so these two both have the first or second second third sir yep okay so there's no number three rather than the third the third and first there's no so because this is reverse order in this round fewest phones is these two that's correct and ties are unfriendly so they both count as if they're second okay and then as long as the most phones so it counts as third so there was no first losing so badly this one was seconds so I get four well done Mary for that yes this one was third so again two souls for that well we know how this game is going to end although we're not going to play the full game in this light fruit yes I I mean anything can happen here right you saw how quickly one round of being on the wrong position here that was a seven Souls swing in its own right so that could easily happen as this game moves on yeah the number of rounds will depend on the number of players we would have two more rounds but we're gonna stop there
