Here are my top five board games of the month. I played 22 new board games in the month of August, and these are my favorite of them. Pirate King is a little push your luck deck building game. You'll buy cards and then flip out cards from your deck. You're trying to get swords to fight monsters and coins to buy more cards, but if you get too many curses, you bust. Cattywampus is a very silly cooperative drawing party game. Two players will be drawing a couple of words, but they're only drawing half of those things, and then you have to mash the two halves together, and it's very ridiculous. Oasis: New Life on a Distant World is all about card combos. You are trying to play cards that synergize well together. You have a bottom row and a top row, and every once in a while during the game, a flood will happen and will wash away your bottom row. So, it's interesting trying to manage that. Stug landed has been my top pleasant surprise of the year. You roll little cabins as if you're rolling pigs in pass the pigs and however the cabins land it will give you actions and then you're fighting for control of the board swapping people's houses out things like that. And my number one game of the month, and I feel slightly bad saying this because it's sold out everywhere right now, is the game Drillers. You should definitely check it out when it comes back in stock. It's a deck building mediumweight strategy game, but there's this really interesting aspect. You're trying to drill down to lower and lower levels and

get better resources, but you can't do that much with it with the resources until you get back to the surface. So, it's a little bit of like push your luck. How far down can you go and still get back
