Our Wildest Dune Imperium Game Yet | Uprising + Bloodlines Expansion!
Transcript
Hello, welcome to Quagal. Thank you for being here. Today we're bringing you a four-player gameplay of Dune Imperium Uprising, specifically with the Bloodlines expansion, which is the newest expansion, arguably the expansion that is uh designed to fit better with Uprising than the other two modules. Uh I have borrowed lovely Corey Adler's game for the last week. I lost theoretically. Hear me out. if you if you lose while playing someone else's game. So like let's let's say let's say I was practicing I was practicing I was playing solo against Bloodlines and I lost. Does that count as a loss against Cory cuz it's his game? Yes. Or is it just like a loss that goes in the books that you don't have to either way. Absolutely. No, it means Cory cheated. I'm pretty sure I've never lost any game of Dune I've ever played period. So, you know, we don't have to worry about it's just a hypothetical question indeed. Not, you know, not legally binding in a court of law. Except it is. We played this for the first time last week. We have some thoughts about it. We'll probably discuss them at the end of the video, but do you want to run through what Bloodlines is adding into the Imperium, you know, the the the Dune Imperium world and uh how it changes or or or might direct the conversation. Sure. So, the first thing obviously to notice here on the board is we have these lovely little plastic figurines here. You can get a nice look at those right there.
They're so cute. Yes. Yes. Adorable and deadly at the same time, especially if you've read the books. Mayor, go read the book. Anyways, these are Sodar Commanders. These are listed. These are placed here in different spots. Boots, can you move that one back over to Yeah, right there. Perfect. So, they're on five places on the board. six if you are playing with four or more players. Um what these guys do is when you go to those spots you may spend two salari these lovely monies and you may purchase them and bring them into your into your garrison right here in the board. When you deploy them you can deploy them as normal. They count as two uh two attack just like any other unit that you have in there because they don't they're not dreadnots in uh in Uprising much to my dismay. Could be. Yeah. I mean, there there are rules for being able to actually merge that. I'm still at Listen, leave a comment down below if you want to see a gameplay of Uprising with every expansion included all at the same time. Oh, dear Lord, that would be ridiculous. Let me know. But yeah, so count me in. But the benefit of having the starter Kart Commanders is these lovely uh little powers that are up here at the top here that that Jesse has so graciously put out. Every time you purchase one of these side car commanders from off of the board, you get to have one of these for free. And these range from things like immediate bonuses, but the tile goes away. They range from uh you know, if you have favor with a certain faction, you get
extra power or even extra buy power at the top of the round, but they don't trigger permanently. They're they only trigger in a very conditional manner. Yes. Specifically, if you happen to have a Sodakar commander in the conflict zone, then on a reveal turn or during combat, that's when that will trigger and all of them will trigger. All of them will trigger. So, if you have bought four solder car commanders, it means you're the only one playing that part of the game, which is a thing that might happen. Yes. Yes. But you will have four of these different tiles and you will have four different powers that all stack together. You don't need to have all four out there in the conflict. You just need one and all of them will trigger. Beyond that, once it is once it is out of the conflict, it returns to your supply. And at any moment on one of your turns, you can decide, okay, well, let's say I played a card and I'm going to go here. I can spend two Solari again and put the guy back into my garrison, which doesn't take away from the two that you could recruit normally from being in there by moving them into the conflict zone. Correct. You could actually pay two salari move three units into the conflict zone. One of which being one that has potential extra power attached to them. Correct. Correct. So we have six on the board currently because we are playing four players.
There's also this lovely seventh guy here because one of the brand new cards that's in this deck also happens to allow you to, you know, purchase another one. So that guy's just hanging out over there. Why not? Indeed. Um so that's the first thing obviously is the are these new soldar commanders. The other thing is over there on the right side here that Jesse is pointing at. So for Bloodlines, they basically uh decided to remake, if you've ever played with uh the main game, the original Dune Imperium with the Rise of X expansion, which is my personal favorite, they basically remade the whole idea of the techiles here. So instead of having the entire separate board with, you know, the ambassadors and and what have you with trying how you would buy it, instead now it's anytime you go to one of these green spots here or the the green pentagons here at the top in case of those who are like my oldest who are color blind, the pentagons, um you may purchase in addition to doing the action that's listed there, you may purchase uh one of those textiles there for its cost in spice as dictated in the upper left hand corner. Um, in addition, if you have a high council seat, uh, those tectiles are at a permanent minus one discount to you. So, um, there those tiles, the Sar commanders. Um, there's also a couple of other uh key things to that have are keywords like um, some of these cards here, none of the ones that are out here currently, but we'll highlight it if it's if they happen to
show up. There's the command keyword. command uh usually at the bottom in the reveal box here of these cards and all it says it basically is hey if you happen to have six or more persuasion you get some extra benefit to it. So that's what that is. And then on top of that, there's some new faction leaders, which I think Well, there's there's more stuff. Well, in my opinion, the best thing is the faction leaders. So, yes. Yes. And we are going to be featuring some of them. What what's the other things? What am I missing something? So, there's uh so along with the spies, there's the deep cover spy. Oh, sure. The icon that I think is ugly and never use. Yes. Okay, good. Yes. Um, but and again, if that shows up, we will point it out for everybody to take a look at, take a gander. But essentially, the deep cover is if I, for example, happen to have a spy over here, Jesse, if Jesse gets to have a deep cover action, he gets to put a spy right there, too. The icon looks like a silver and gold spy kind of next to each other. Yeah.
Essentially, uh, Jesse happened to use this for great effect last game when I used my spy uh, over to get the swordmaster and he had his spy right there. So me using it on my swordmaster made it cost less for him to get his I got it the same round you did by going to the same location you went to even though you had a spy blocking that location. Yes. So it it timed out it timed out very well. Yes. So it can be very useful even if the icon is ugly as heck. I just I just never factor it into at least so far, you know, in in the solo games that I've had and in the the three player that we played. I've never found myself categorizing it as something that I'm adding to my strategy. If it happens, great. I can toss a spy somewhere on the table. But spies are a little convoluted in and of themselves, let alone a spy that can now can go or should go on top of another player's piece that's on the board. It just starts getting like, you know, it's it's layers and layers of baloney, and I don't can only go so deep. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely agree with you here. The last thing on that last statement, I wouldn't agree with statements like that too quickly. Think about it a little bit. You've got children.
I like baloney. Um the last thing is uh especially if anybody's played with the immortality expansion, some of the cards that were introduced there have the combat symbol on the cards, you know, either in the agent box or in the reveal box. Um, that just means that either on your agent action or in the reveal turn, even if you're not going to a specific combat location, you would be able to uh move more people from your garrison into the conflict zone. Yeah. As well. Um, and then I believe the last thing that's different is some of the conflict cards. There are more conflict cards that have a question mark. It's a wild battle. Okay. Cuz in the in Uprising standard, there's only one, but now we've got at least three, I think, here. those and then they add a rule clarification where that wild icon only only takes effect at the end of the game as far as bonus points. So, it's not actively scoring.
Correct. Okay. So, we we're incorporating bloodlines. Let us know if you have any questions. Uh hopefully we'll talk through and showcase this as we we dive into it. But the main objective is for all the guys around the table to lose gracefully and with dignity intact. That's the uh that's really the the lesson learned. So after that, dignity. Sure. Tact is optional. After that shameless uh uh trash talking. Yeah. So Jesse, who do you have? Connie. Shnie. Johnny. Shnie. Johnny. Shnie. Uh I didn't pick this. I had Am I the only one who read the books? Yes. No, I read the first one and then I started the second one not knowing what I was signing up for and noped. Within about a couple like within a chapter or two, I was like, I'm lost and confused and I am intimidated. and I left. I if I go into it knowing what I'm walking into, it might be a little bit more palatable. Second book is essentially just an epilogue to the first book, which I highly recommend. Yeah, but it's layers upon layers upon layers and people upon people upon people and baloney upon baloney upon baloney. I've already addressed this issue earlier in the video. It's a problem. I can only go so deep.
I'm on that note. I'll leave that alone. So, on that note, my faction is coming from the Bloodlines expansion. And I wanted to I wanted to feature a few of them. Yours is as well. Cory, is yours coming from Bloodlines, too? He said so. Boots. Mine is not. Mine is the Christopher Walkan expansion. Yeah, I will not do it. None of us felt like arguing with him. We all thought it was a reasonable reasonable statement to make. Uh Christopher Walkin is awesome. I have tactician. Whenever you re whenever you retreat or lose any number of troops from the conflict, advance your tactician's token that many spaces uh earning rewards as you reach them. reset the token after reaching the end of the track. So, I just have this little cycle here where every time I lose or retreat, I can gain spice and then I can gain water. This is a long track. I'm going to have to have some type of strategy or cards that actually allow me to maneuver and pull troops in and out of combat to make the most of this faction. Uh, so a lot of shifting, a lot of shuffling. I can assume that I'm going to want to be in combat almost every battle or else this really won't move too much. Yeah, but also remember there's a there's plenty of intrigue cards that have that give you benefits for either losing or retreating specific troops. So intrigue cards, some of these tech tiles at times will and sometimes your cards will have manipulation on them as well. Exactly. Specifically with the uh I I think it's the spacing guild um has quite a few uh coming in and coming out of conflict abilities. Um, and then my signate ring ability is uh fedric fed fedric fedric uh fedaken.
Fedaken maneuver. You know, dyslexia and madeup words is a difficult combination. Retreat any number of your troops. Is that a madeup word? Or uh if I have two influence, I'll gain water and I'll be a I'll I'll spend water and I'll be able to draw two cards. So, this is actually kind of nice. it it pairs with the first ability very well. I have the ability to retreat my troops if I'm playing my signate ring, which is something that's always going to be in my deck. And then if I have a deck that's built around retreat or built around manipulation on the board later on in the game, I can just utilize water, which is something I should be getting from my my my track uh to draw extra cards and hopefully get a sequence going. So, it goes very well with your strategy of generally not winning and losing units.
Thank you. It's one of the nicest things that he's ever fired early. I love it. I'm doing boots. It's one of the nicest things he's ever said to me. He said terrible things to me. I did. He says terrible things about you, too. Yeah. All right. Okay. What do you got, Mayor? I've got Duncan Idaho from House of Trades. Uh, he has Guinz Swordmaster. The Swordmaster board space costs two less to cast, which uh that should be fun. You know, get the sword get another agent out really quick. uh into the fray as the ring uh special uh ability to rule them all. Exactly. Wrong wrong wrong IP. Wrong IP. You may take the agent you sent this turn and deploy it to the conflict as a two strength unit that can't be retreated.
If you have your swordmaster, which is a bonus token in the six player game, it has three strength in game in instead. I read that. So, you're going to be discounting my swordmaster quickly is is what I hopefully am reading. potentially. Yeah, that's the hope. And is Idaho a madeup word? It might be. It's definitely a madeup state. I don't know. I don't know. Mayor asked Mayor did ask me before the game because he's in the middle of the reading the first book. I'm not in the middle of reading the first book. You read it? You've read it? You just can't remember it. What? It's been a long time. At least he can't remember if Duncan Idaho dies in the book or not. To which my response was, "Depends on your definition." I didn't say that. No, I said I like Duncan Idaho. And then you said, "Well, that's that's too bad." No, I didn't say, "Well, that's too bad." I said, "That's good. That's cool." Okay. Because Yeah.
Anyways, leave a comment down below if you've read the books and you know exactly what I'm talking about. I haven't read the books and I know exactly what you're talking about. How do you say his name? Per. I'll take it. He has Twisted Genius. Game start. Shuffle the Twisted Intrigue deck and place it face down near you. Round start. draw a Twisted Intrigue card. These count as intrigue cards and can be stolen. So, you have your own custom little deck of uh of intrigues and I get one for free every round. That's terrifying. And then your signate ring is uh you get a cube. You can't deploy this troop to the conflict this turn, but you get involved in battle a little bit easier. I think everyone's getting involved in battle. No, that's custom. It's It's a unique deck for him, but we can steal them from him if I have too many intrigue cards, which he will. Come on. I will. I mean, it's Cory. Yeah, I am very intriguing. Gross. You're playing if you'd like to I am playing Christopher Walkin. Uh can't read it from there, but I was just waiting for you to go for the voice. I saw I saw I saw like a glimmer appear across his face where he was like, I could do it right now. No, nobody will be Christopher Walkin. No. No. Mayor, no.
You discussed bad mayor. Yeah. But yeah, I can't drink some more whiskey. Go ahead. Set aside both sedakur contracts. Sardicur contracts. Sardar. Only you can acquire them during the game. Nice. Okay. So, you get your own little private contracts and then emperor of the known universe is your signate ring ability. Units can't be deployed to the conflict this turn. Uh, however, you spend one or you gain one coin and one cube or one salari and one cube or you spend three salari to go up in one of the reputation tracks. You're just buying influence. You're not going to war. You're telling people like, I want peace and then you're buying power. So, this ring really limits me from combat. I can't really use it. So, he's being passive aggressive. But, it really fits in narratively actually with the Doom book. If you bring up the booksive, we're just being aggressive. My god, I love the books. See, don't get me wrong.
I love the books. All right. Shall we check our objective cards and see who is starting off this game? Sure. Three, two, one. I am not. Not me. Who's pulling it? This counts as a conflict card. One. Boot has it. Oh, because of the worm. Got has the worm. You get the worm. You play the game. All right. Hey, pressure's on. Shuffle your cards. Draw your five. All right. And let's play some Doom. All right. Our first conflict card of the game, skirmish. I don't think anybody has that bird icon at the moment. Um, first place in this battle is going to get an entry card and one Solari. Second place is going to get an entry card and two Solari. And because we're playing with four players, there is a third there is third place bonus, which is just an entry card. That is a weird card. I like the fact that they mixed around the the win rewards in this version of of Dune. I don't like the fact that all of the victory points are so heavily weighted at the end. I want a version of this deck where card number one could have a victory point on it like right up there at the top. I understand they have scoring conditions and stuff there. There's there's ones and twos really don't have victory points that appear. There might maybe there's one card out of like the 10 that you draft from, but you only get one one. And I'm not even sure there is one card in there. You can check it. We'll double check later. But I hear what I hear what you're talking about. Although I mean it makes sense because later on in buying you time. Oh, I was just waiting for you to stop talking. Sorry.
Beginning of beginning of the round, I draw an intrigue card from my lovely twisted intrigue deck. So the starter card area is looking pretty tasty for me. Uh, but half of that I need four spice for. So, I might venture on to get some spice. Cory, did you double check that I had them in the right location? Yes. Okay. I didn't check the rule book. I did it by memory. So, and don't we all start with the water or no? Yes. Okay. He says, we do all start with the water. I mean, rubric double check. I'll double check. I'm pretty sure you got it right though. Solder card commanders. So you're playing down a diplomat. Going for my hometown of Sardukar. And I don't have to complete these now, right? So those that's dutiful service. Not sold car.
Sodak car is specifically that spot. Son of a gun. Yeah. But when you when you do go to that location, you will complete those. So it's not it's not a choice. It's when when you go there, you will complete. Good to know. Uh and what is the second? This is a you get one of those two contracts. Hell yeah. Everyone add a cube by the way to our track. It looks like one thing I didn't do on setup. I got it looking so pretty. So pretty. Help me out there. Okay, my turn. Carry on clockwise. I should have thought about my turn at all. So I don't get this guy automatically because I don't have the two. Correct. Yeah. Thinking who would have thought if you had the two you could have bought.
Um, I think I'm going to follow suit. I'm going to play down at the diplomacy service. Okay. Supplies. Close. I was close. Gather. High council. Gather. Okay. So, that one over there on shipping should actually be on gather support. Yeah, I was close. Told you I did it by memory, though. I knew it wasn't right. I'm going to uh our little uh F freckant. Fant. Oh, that card. Yeah. Uh which is going to let me draw up a card, but more importantly, it's going to allow me to go ahead and move troops out into the battle. Do I want to move? I just want to like go aggressive or just start like tiptoeing my way in. I'm going to go in with two. Do it. I I don't mind some intrigue cards. deploy the troops and you retreat by losing, right? Uh I'm going to do a diplomacy also. That's an honest question. I do. I'm going to go on secrets. It does benefit me whether I win or die in secrets. Not that I wanted to go to frame kit, you know. It's not like I didn't want to. Indeed. Indeed.
All right. Um wow. Okay. The three of you. If you're in the battle, you'll you'll die though. New contract. Things like my ability. New contract. Okay. What are you thinking, Corey? I'm thinking about the fact that the three of you took the three spots I wanted to go to. High five. So, that was lovely. Thank you all very much for doing that. Um, that's our should always be our goal in life. Make Corey annoyed. Not annoyed. I'm just now I'm going to take time for the camera. He's disappointed. I'm disappointed in all of you. Uh, making him think. Uh, I'm going to use my Seek Allies card. Try that trash. I'm going to end up going to uh Desert Tactics. Spending a water. So, I'm going to spend the water that you get. Move up here. I'm going to have to trash one of the cards in my hand, which will be one of these doing the desert planets. Um, and then I get a troop here. And then do I want to move all three of these guys? Yeah, I kind of want to move all three of these guys right here into the conflict. Okay, so all right, we're up to a six indeed.
Miss your boots. I believe I'm going for a power play already. Early game power play. Early game power play. Okay, very nice. So going to Raken. Araen. So that'll give me a a cube and draw a card. And draw a card. And then I could throw all the cubes in there. Two plus the one. Pull one up to a six. And that's a contract. That is a contract. So you flip that. You're going to get another cube, which you could actually enter into combat now if you'd like. And you'll get a spy. A cube and a cylinder. You're putting into conflict. Hell yeah. Just so you know, you're fighting for one Salari and an intrigue card. All right. Uh, so I can place a spy in any of the hubs, any of the connected little circles. Yep. And whatever it's connected to, it'll allow you to do one of two things. You could either when you go to one of those locations, recall your your your spy to draw a card or if someone is already at a location that's connected to the hub and you would like to go to that location, you can recall that spy in order to put your person there even though that worker lo worker uh worker placement location was already blocked. So, you have to get the contract and then go to Well, so where do you want to put your spy? We're going to be spying on some I heard uh I heard swordmaster early spy was a good move.
It's not a bad place to have a sword. It's not It's not like I'm going to swordmaster or anything. You're giving Swordmaster vibes. I don't know what about Duncan Idaho gives Swordmaster vibes. Okay, pulling over. I'm going to be playing my Signant Ring. Uh the reason I'm playing this is because of my ability. Retreat any number of your troops. Um I'm going to retreat one of my troops, which will push my cube forward by one. We We're marching forward. I like I like playing the asymmetry in these games even though they distract me from actually winning. That's not foreshadowing at all. Uh I'm going to reduce my power in this conflict by two. And then I actually have to decide where I want to go with my mele because I hadn't thought that part through. I' I'd analyzed the board. I'd thought about all the nice things that I could do, I'd like to do, but I hadn't thought about where I was going to place my person. I either want to draw a card location or I want just an extra buy. I think here. And I'm going to take the Spice Refinery. And I'm going to go ahead and draw a card up into my hand, hoping that I find some extra influence for card purchasing. Indeed. Okay. Okay. Don't forget about the removing the card.
Yeah. Come here. I believe I'm going to go to Imperial Bassin. Get a spice. Spice must flow. Spice must flow, as they say. Do you wish to put anybody into the conflict? Uh, I do. I wish to put both of those. There goes my victory of third place. Third place is almost as good as every other place in this battle. The only place that's not as good is fourth, right? I too am going to be playing my signate ring which gets me a guy into here but I cannot move him into the conflict at all at this turn. Um but not ominous at all indeed. But I am going to send my agent over to the assembly hall here. I'm going to draw an intrigue and I will give myself an extra influence uh when the time comes.
What were these symbols again? Solari. No, the No. So if you have if you have two of them, they score a victory point at the end of the game. No, if they match with the colors, it's immediate. If it's a wild, it's at the end of the game. Gotcha. Y All right. So boots. Yours is green. It's public. It's public. Oh, gotcha. Yep. So they both have green. We both have yellow. There's no blues on the table at the moment. That's how they balance a four player. So I have no agents. So I believe I'm revealing Yep. my cards. Nothing else. Ooh, he has two daggers. two daggers which all two daggers and oh no sorry what do you call strength up by two and that's going to be your influence uh which gives you the ability to buy you could buy prepare the way which is one of the beny Jesuit cards and lets you have some buyability and some draw card ability those are nice okay another if you have the influence to play it though yeah well you only get that benefit if you have the influence but you can play it anyway right so I'm doing a reveal turn this is why I wanted a little bit uh extra on the board I get go up by one, but really I was paying attention to the fact that I've got six total buy power, which is a lot early game. Yeah. Um, my options are really anything. Should I go through these cards for everyone so that we can take a look at them or Sure. It's helpful for everyone to know what cards are here, right? Boots is like, I can't read those cards. I can't read those cards. So, we've got litany against fear. At the start of your turn, put this card into play. So, this immediately comes out of your hand and onto the table. Uh, draw a card and pass your turn. So this is this basically
delays your turn by a whole round which means you're then going behind everyone else. Very not fear. Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the little death that brings we have the sardicore coordination. Reminding me of a clip. You may deploy any troops you recruit from this to the conflict. So this this opens this up across the board which is very powerful. Um and then two influence plus one dagger for each emperor card you revealed including this one. So if you're doing an emperor play, that's pretty powerful. Miss you all emperor. Either put a guy over there. What's the ask the ask the full question so that we're not mumbling. All right. So mayor asked the question about reminding himself about spy the spy mechanic in this game, which is you place a spy down. You can then either choose to recall one of your spies either to put uh one of your agents down on one of the spots attached to the observation post.
You can grab them to gather intelligence, which is just a fancy way of saying draw a card. Um, so it lets you, if someone already has a person there, it lets you break worker placement rules by putting your person there. Or if you go to location attach, you can recall it to draw a card. Those are the two main things. Some things will manipulate it in other ways. Exactly. Rebel Supplier. Uh, if you recall the spy this turn, go ahead and get two cubes and then you gain a spice and a dagger. We have covert operation. This has the spy symbol here, meaning this symbol is as if it was any location where you have a spy. So for you boots, that would be any of these green locations up there, the three that you're connected to, this card would allow you to place at each opponent discards a card and you get two spies. On a reveal. Yeah, that's on a reveal.
You could place two two spies. Is that saying? Yeah. That's terrifying. The reason it has two spies at the bottom there is cuz the other p the other ability is so powerful they want to discourage you from using that. Yeah, that's a horrible card. I don't want anyone to own that card, including myself. We have leadership. Too much power for one man. For each sandworm you have in the conflict, go ahead and draw a card which could be powerful for drawing daggers and then two bypower and a dagger plus one dagger for each other revealed card that provides one or more daggers this turn. So that just has a compounding effect. I really like this card. This This card that has a reveal turn is super powerful, but it it doesn't match up well with buying covert operations, I don't think. And so I think I'm just going to do Do I do I think I'm just going to do the heavy play. I think I'm just going to go ahead and grab the Fman leadership. I think it's a smart move. New card out is reliable informant. This has a spy on any of these three factions. Anything but the but the spacing guild. But the spacing guild. Um it goes to the spacing guild. So he's he's working with them but spying on everyone else. And then you're you're going to go ahead and get one influence and one solar when you play him down. So pretty affordable. And there's nothing for one out there in the market. So that'll be my turn. Okay.
There. Uh so I've got a dagger and I've got three uh what was it called again? uh in influence, right? I've got three. So, or persuasion or Yeah, persuasion. Uh I think I'm going to get this. This goes to my discard. Yeah, it does indeed. Yeah, it's a scary card. New card out here is guild spy, which automatically gives a spy, it looks like. Yeah. So, when you get this, you'll immediately get a spy down onto the table wherever you'd like. Has that same spy icon. If you discard a spacing guild card, go ahead and draw an influence. So, this pairs well in intrigue. This pairs well with spacing guild to uh buy power to influence. Uh if you acquire the spice must flow this turn, gain one influence with each faction you are spying on.
Pretty good. That's where the doubling up on influence could actually really come into play. Yeah. Cool. Indeed. There's lots of neat connections here. Indeed. Speaking of which, you can reveal in front of you until we have bigger things. Uh I get three. the card I just got. I get three. And actually, you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to grab this guy. That is totally It paires really well with the card I just with me. Yep. And this is going to give me a spy. And where would I like to put Where would I like to spy? My spy. My spy. You can't do the Well, no, I can't do that. I mean, if it was deep cover, I could do that. But what do you mean instead of revealing? Um, I mean, you might as well put a worker at a location connected with your spine.
It's like you're you're they're handing you the intelligence report. I think I'll put him on the Fman. Fman seems very good early game. It can be definitely card coming out. Overthrow. This is an eight cost card. Goes ahead and gives you an intrigue right off the bat. Can go to any of the uh political factions. Gain two influence instead of one when you go to them. And you get two by power, two swords, and a cube. Gross. That card's one one step away from from being valued as a victory point. And I think that's accurate. In fact, if you get it early enough in the game, I think it's probably way more valuable than a victory point. Yep. Yep. All right. So, I believe we've all revealed cycle around. So, we have conflict. Do you have an entry card that you wish to play? No. Jesse, do you have an entry card you wish to play? No sir.
Mayor, do you wish to play your entry card? I do not. Okay. Um, I guess I will not be playing my entry card because was I mean this entry card would not give me as much as what I'm getting already. So, all right. So, Boots is going to win the conflict. Boots, all your people come home. Hell yeah. You have won the conflict. You are going to be getting the conflict card. Go ahead and draw a entry card and gain one Salari. Uh, you also gain this Cory. You're going to be coming in second place. You're going to be getting two Salari and one intrigue card. And mayor, you're going to be coming in third place. You're going to get one intrigue card. Boots, if you could hand mayor an intrigue card. Everyone else comes back down. The people are dead. And just so you all can admire my professionalism. As I come home, I'll slide my little dial forward. Yoo. How do you, boys?
Well done. The game said press this button. I'm doing it. I'm pressing it. All right. Last phase is makers. So, bless the maker and his water. Bless the coming and going of him. May his passage cleanse the world. May keep the world for his people. I'm a little obsessed with the books. I don't know if you've noticed. Good pieces back. I haven't noticed. I don't know what you're talking about. And first player rotates my way. Draw back up to five cards, which means I'm shuffling. Take my day. Every day. All right. What are we trying to do? Play a game. Get your head in the game. Mhm. I don't know about you.
Did not draw what I was looking for. All right. I'm going to start off with a solid found. Seek allies. Uh, which is really just a get uh, you know, get your stuff out of the game as quick as possible type of play. Do I want to draw a card or do I want to spend my water to go ahead and get an additional cube and trash something from my hand? You should get an intrigue card. This comes up. Yeah. Oh, yes. Uh, another bird icon. So, if Boots wins this one, he's going to get a point for it. Winner also gets to move up one on the Benessa track and get an intrigue. Second place gets an intrigue. One spice, one and one troop. And third place gets one spice, one troop. pretty good. I am going to pop myself right here. Yep. I'm going to draw up a card. You get a point. I'm going to gain a point from moving up on FMAN. And I'm going to choose to put someone out in the conflict cuz I want He likes conflict. He's a brinker of conflict. He is married. So, I'm a peaceful man.
I didn't mean it. Are you dying? Yes, sir. I'm going to play Sea Galls also. All right. Yeah, you take it away. Trash. Uh I'm going to have to pay a water though. Do this. Play this and deploy it. And uh you have to trash one of your cards. You can be the you can be from those as well. I think I think I'm going to trash this. Very nice. And then I'm done. All right. Let me see here. I don't love the amount of cards you have currently in your hand, Cory. Oh, you mean these? I'm not I'm not thrilled about it. Yeah. Four entry cards is too many. Yeah, guys, just I just want to point out um Oh, I should have stolen an entry card. That's too many intrigue cards. And this location right here, this lovely spot right here.
If anyone has more than three, fair game to steal. So, you know those special customized like really nice intrigue cards Cory has for his faction ability and powers? Yeah. Yes. Well, don't look at me. I'm behind the curtain. Pay attention to the man with all the power. Well, I'm actually going to be using one of these lovely cards right now. Also, to prevent somebody from trying to steal my stuff, I'm going to play insidious here. I am going to give one of you lucky folks one of my entry cards to get at least one spice and I'm gonna give you somebody that person is going to get a non-twisted one. So not one with pder. I've only ever meant the best for you. Yes. I've only ever I've never said I've never drawn attention to your power.
I've never I've only reinforced your authority in the galaxy. I was totally against the play. I wouldn't even dream of stealing intrigue cards from you cuz you're so generous with them and you would give them to me freely. So, sure. How about we roll for it? Um, definitely not definitely not boots. He's winning. Yeah. And I think considering the card that I'm going to be giving, I think it actually is going to go to Jesse. So, you're going to get that, Jesse. You can confirm that it is not a twisted It isn't twisted. So, they're both cheating. They're in cahoots with each other. Two spice here. I mean, this could be a 2v2 game. Yeah. Which is lovely. Uh I I see why you gave me this one.
It's fine. It It doesn't help It doesn't help me as much as it has to do with conflict. It doesn't at all. It doesn't. The one thing I'm doing is the thing it doesn't deal with. Okay. Okay. Yeah. So, that's why Yeah. That's why I kind of gave it I got some information time. But um I think see what am I gonna do here? What you gonna do? What you going to do? And I got any orange is you that is if you harvest if you harvest at least four spice. Gotcha. So you got to go here for now or wait when those or wait for when that goes up there. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Um, I'm going to see.
I'm going to play diplomacy here. Question is, do I want to go grab an intrigue or do I want to draw a card and get a spy? And yes. Uh, and actually, you know what? I kind of like this idea. I'm going to spend one of the spikes that I just got and draw a card, which drawing a card requires me to shuffle the remaining cards from my deck. And then I draw a guy. That's a good one to have drawn. Um, is it? And then I get to put a spy down on the board.
And where do I want to put this spy? I want to put the spy. I'll put him right here. That's a good It's a good connection point. Yeah. Mhm. Early Anna especially. Indeed. Boots pass turn. My turn will take infinitely less time. Shots fired. Shots fired. Grab a tile. Draw a card. Play a game. This is yours, Corey. Thank you. Where did you go? I did accept contract, the same contract that came out almost and uh drew a card that will probably win me this turn. I was thinking that I saw Yeah, I was thinking like, yes. Very nice. Very nice. I saw I saw what he did. I thought he probably won right then. It was obvious.
All right. I I'm stuck in a I'm stuck in a in a hard spot cuz there's a lot of there's a lot of places that would be great for me to go. I have a card in my hand that I don't want to like not use. Should probably retreat. So, that's one of my options. Um, can I retreat and put back in the same troop or is that not possible? It can't be possible. I don't think it can poss
you can do it in any order. Uh, signate ring lets me retreat and then I put the guy that just like came home back in the battle because I'm at a location that lets me put but it can't that can't work. That it's not possible. Um, I think your signant ring ability happens at any point. That's what I'm saying. That's why I'm saying it might be possible, but there's no way it is. So, what you're saying is it's not going to this is this is weird enough. I don't assume it's going to be Well, I mean, usually they usually in the book you're saying is he really really wants to give usually in the rule book they'll have something with like let the man have a power play. He really wants to give his soul. No. Actually, that's what he's saying. PTS PTSD largely comes from um both in combat and outside of combat largely is a neurological condition that seems that seems to come from lack of choice in the moment of anxiety or the moment of fear. So, the fact that I'm pulling them out and then letting them choose to re-engage the battle might actually be neurologically uh reinforcing for my troops. I'm I care about my army. Wow. There's a book called The Body Keeps the Score. It's all about uh trauma and PTSD both um like you know childhood and and and war veterans and stuff. All right, professor. Extremely extreme. It's so good. It's extremely good. Professor, what are you playing? I'm playing my signate ring. I we're either Cory's going to find an answer or we're going to make clear a card and send an agent to a board space. You gain the effects of the board space as well as the effects contained in the agent box of the card. If the board space belongs to Okay. You may carry out all these effects in any order. Wow. So theoretically, you could retreat your troop and then deploy the troop. If you guys are cool with me making the play,
I'm going to make the play then. I mean, it seems it seems like from the rule book that you're allowed to do that. I just want you to get roasted on the comments. That's all. Everyone's saying it's legit. I've never had one comment on any of my videos saying that I've played a single rule wrong. Do it. Yes, he has. Oh, I was going to go there. Yes, he has. I'm Sunny Water. I'm going here. I'm getting three spice. I am at the beginning of my turn, like beginning of my action phase, retreating my troop to slide my dial to gain a spice. And then at the end of my action phase, because I'm at a location where my troops could engage with battle, and I have one out here at the zone, I am deploying them into the said battle cuz they are heroes and I respect them. All righty. I'm going to also play a signate ring. I am however gonna go here to spend a spice and get Forscolor.
Very nice. And are you Oh, you have nobody that you I have nobody. Although I actually can deploy this because of Ah, that's right. Dunan Idaho. Do you guys think that's like gives two? What? And he counts as two a legal legit play that I'm allowed to do or is that totally Jesse's cheating? He's cheating. Help. Is it a side is that a side condition that's called the police I'm playing or actually based on rules? And do you do you guys You said call the police. Oh, do do you all tend to house rule or or do you guys like tend to like go by rules as rules are written like we just did or it seems a little if it's open for interpretation usually as rules are written? Yeah, I'm much more of a the nature of the game maintains itself.
Cory, what are you doing? All right, I am also playing my signate ring, which will get me a troop in here, but I cannot deploy him at all for any reason. Uh, however, I am going to go to Araen and put a guy here and put two people in there. And I get to draw a card. But Duncan Idaho's in the fray now. Why do you have a do not care? It's Duncan Idaho. That's part of his sing. It's actually Duncan Idaho. It's really just Duncan. I didn't listen when he was reading his card. Oh, you never listen to me. It's true. My dad. Okay. Boots. Good. Uh, family signant ring. Yeah. Wow. Everyone played the sign ring. All signate rings. So, when I play my signate ring, the one ring, stay with me, guys. We already made a one ring choice. Boys, boys again.
Uh well, first of all, you have to refer to me as the emperor of the known universe. That's what it says. Uh units doesn't prove it doesn't chant as well. Units cannot be deployed to the conflict this turn. So I will not be joining the fight. Um but I do get fight a dollar and uh deploy to the garrison. Yeah. And then I will be going to I did not think this far. Um, green pentagon or blue circle or the yellow triangle or the yellow. You can go there. Get some spice or one. There's no disc there. Yeah, I saw this. I think I will go up there. Intrigue and buy power is not a bad not a bad You could go. Oh, wait. You don't have space up here. No, but it doesn't matter, right? You can get you can get in ter in terms of the areas that are that are And that has a spot with the starter cart commander seat which you could purchase right now. Sauerkraut commander. All right. This is a co-op game. Thanks.
Found a car. Sauerkraut. No. No. Mayor. Bad mayor. So, I'm paying the two salary for Christopher Walk friend. Yep. He goes in there. And I get to pick one of these. Correct. Do you want Do we want to show them off? Uh, so we have I mean, if he buys one, show off that one. Yeah. I mean, so there is on a reveal turn, get a spice. So, if someone's involved in the combat, you'll gain a spice just from him being out there. You have this one which you can trash during your ve turn to gain three power but it's gone but then it's gone. You have hardy which is you can at the extra something in your garrison and then there is fierce which gives you an extra combat power and then if any opponent has has a sandworm in the conflict you get an extra one. Yeah. So it gives you a little bit of buff. I chose twice the gain three power and then trash it afterwards. I was very disappointed by my choice every time because like it made my guys worthless from that point on. So that that's my only feedback so far is is that three powers fine in a in an instant. It made it it made them less fun to play with. Is Duncan one or two?
Two. You can't deploy anybody right now to the conflict anyway. Yeah. Let's go for some spice. Let's make my uh the spice must flow. Cool. All right. So, so from now on, whenever you have at least one sard commander in the conflict, you will gain a spice on your reveal turn. Uh don't forget, by the way, I don't know if you drew your intrigue card, but the new one that is out is Cany. So, if you have an agent on a green pentagon space, you get two extra. I had this one in my solo game. I liked that one a lot. That one seems very nice cuz the green spaces aren't instinctually the places you want to be when you're fighting, right? But it was a fun combination of like incentivizing me to go to some of those top top areas. Reveal for me. Indeed.
Okay, I've got one dagger. Dagger dagger. I've got three by power. So, I'm going to pop up by one. In terms of buy power and what I want to do with it, I've already went a little bit into FMAN. So, you know, I'm kind of leaning towards the rebel supplier here. Um, and if I recall the spy this turn, I get two extra cubes, which could help uh pair with my troop ability. So, I think that's what I'm going to be pulling back for three. How dare you? I wanted that card. Very sad. I've got a dagger, got a conflict, argument, and reconnaissance. So, so you move up. I move up one and then I have three by power. So, this seems like a pretty good card. What's that card that just came out? This is Mulla Pistol. It lets you draw a card and by reveal you get one by power and new card that is out. Delivery logistics spacing guild. This has the agent icons shown on all of your incomplete contracts. This is great for a guy that has all the contracts in the game. Uh, gives you one or gives you a brand new contract. Basically, what this does is any contract you have, this guy's able to go to.
I like it. It's nice. And he's cheap. So, I could go to the harvest space. Absolutely. So, for me, I have five persuasion and two daggers. Cory, just just a clarification here because it's something I realized when I was playing solo about halfway through. This isn't that you could go to that specific space. I believe it's the icon. So, for instance, because you have like let's say one of the black locations, uh this would allow you to go to either of the locations whether or not it completed your contract. Yes. And that that that opens the door quite quite wide actually. Yes. Yeah. So, I now have two daggers which moves me ahead of mayor here. How dare you? Indeed. You can always play an entry card. Five by power. I can but I won't.
Yep. So, five by power here. Let's see what uh what do I like here? I think um considering that this card here has a power, if I discard a uh if you acquire the space must fall. No, but I'm saying if I discard a spacing, your two core options are reliable for me. Grab this guy for two. Okay, let's So, I'm going to have three more. Deal another one. Another Mala pistol. Um, that's okay, but I think I'm going to go for the litany against fear. Actually, the delay in timeline's really interesting. Mhm.
Yep. Thumper is going to double your spice collection for any of the bonus spice at a location. Bonus spice. Bonus spice specifically. Yeah. Yeah. So, Boots, your reveal. Let's reveal. I have five influence peru persuasion. Five persuasion. Persuasion. Guess confidently. That's what I do. Uh, plus the one here. Six. Nice. Yes. Very nice. That's pretty good. Uh, so this one has the word sarduk card in it. I kind of want to stay on brand. Yeah, that works. Makes sense. Yeah, sounds good. So, question. You may deploy any troops. Never mind. Uh, so that's four bucks. Okay. You have a two that comes out that does have an emperor on it. Undercover asset ignoring influence requirements on board spaces when sending an agent this turn. Oh. Oh, that's nice. That's very nice. And then you have uh a spy or two daggers early game. Those either of those two would be great for you. Just a matter of what you want to lean into. There's only one space that has influence.
Oh, there's three. We got to go for the emperor. There's this there's three spots that declare influence. There's this one for the Fman siege tower. That's a tough. There is Nobody else is going to want this. I'm going to imperial privilege. That's hard to see with the as well. And as well, there's the shipping over there that requires two from the uh spacing guild. A seven cost interstellar trade. Uh this is a spacing guild card. This will give you a uh contract right away. This gives you one influence in one of the factions and you'll get one uh uh influence or one one uh buy power for each contract you have completed. Nice. Very good for you. And it's spacing. Very nice. Okay. So, I believe everybody has revealed then. So, uh starting with Jesse. Jesse, do you wish to play any intrigues? Uh let me see.
Let me think it through. Oh, that's the intrigue card I gave you, right? Do I want to play any intrigues, Cory? I don't think you want to play any intrigues, Jesse. I don't think I want to play any intrigues, Cory. Thanks. I'm good. You're welcome. You're good. Also, I'm good. Oh. Um, okay, cool. What? No, I'm Hang on. Give me the thing. Give me the thing. Give me the thing. Give me the thing here. Give me the thing here. So, um, it's my first time doing the thing here, but um, yeah, this is I'm not disappointed. I just uh yeah, you know, the funny thing is he has nothing and it's a tactical bluff. It's a tactical bluff. That's all it is. Look, I'm just saying it's totally Let me know down below. Is Cory just Is Cory playing the game on another level? Going fourth wall, breaking the fourth wall just to psych us out. I think so. I think he's cheating. All right. I mean, it's on brand with Py Deere. Honestly, what cheating?
No, I mean just being kind of sneaky and suspicious psychological warfare. So I win. So that's going to give me one influence on Benny Jesser, which gives me a point. Yes. And it's going to give me another intrigue card. How intriguing. Um All right. And And then I get an intrigue. You get an intrigue. My little spice. My guy's alive. and one troop. One spice. You don't lose him. No, he's a hero. Yep. You don't. But you still technically lost him, so you still move up on the track. Oh, I do lose him, but I only kind of. Yep. Plots you can play whenever. This cube's This cube's a uh on your turn. On your turn. On your turn. That's what I meant.
Yeah. So, this guy we write home, tell his family he's dead. He's on a secret mission now. Wow. Yeah. Right. He'll be home in 10 years. How did he not go? I I earned it part of the world. All right. Also, bless the maker and his daughter. Bless the coming and going of him. May his passage cleanse the world. May he keep the world for his people. The new conflict this round. Ooh, we have yet another bird. Okay. Siege of Arachen. That's going to give control over the Arachen board space, which will give you a coin every time someone goes there along with two coins and two troops. Second place gets four coins and a troop. And third place gets three coins. And there cannot be any sand worms deployed to the conflict. Unless we rip down that shield wall, right? Unless we rip down the shield wall. Tear down that wall. We've all got enough actions to make that happen. If we work together, I'll deploy the sandworm. You guys rip down the wall. Break the walls down. Okay. Called teamwork.
Yes. What he said. All right. I need to shuffle and everyone take their agents back. Yep. Jesse. Jesse, what? Bring your agents back. I don't want to. They'll just go there again. We're confident. All right, everyone ready? Go for it. I will play a diplomat. Surprise, surprise. Here. Going on there. Yeah. Give Mayor a point. I get a point and I draw a card. Yep. Do you wish to put any of your people into the conflict? I do. So, boots, just so you're aware, we are a warrior. This is how like people Yep. Uh go ahead. Okay. Um Jesse, wait, man. Just so you know, though, I just want to make sure.
That's cold. That's cold. Jesse, what'd you do now? He's just telling me how to Is this stuck? It's actually stuck. Yeah, it might be. We could leave it on. Uh h Let's see here. We're going to see how far we can go before someone gives you a simple see that uh training depot. I want to be ahead of you guys after this turn. Um I'm going to start off my turn by playing an intrigue card. I'm going to play Imperium Politics. I'm going to spend one money to go up either on the Imperium track or on the spacing guild track. Um and let's see. Quick quick question. This means you need to spend uh six. No, it's if you have six persuasion, you get that.
That's what the command keyword got it means. Um so let's see which one do I want to move up here. Um I think I'm going to move up on the spacing guild here. And that's going to work very well with my reliable informant that I just drew. Oh, nice indeed. Because then I'm going to go here. I don't have enough solari now in order to actually grab the solder commander. Got it. But because I'm still going there, I'm getting my water anyway. And moving up. Can you give me another point, please? And I get to place my last spy guy down here. Very nice. But it has to be on one of these two spots because I already have one on the Fman. I'm gonna put one on the beness because I can.
Why not boots? Go for it. I will be seeking allies. All right. Treasure it. So since I have a harvest three and a harvest four, if I harvest four, do they both go? No, just one at a time. You can only complete one contract right now. Uh, give blue one point. Yes, you give me one point. You. All right. All right. So, new contract comes out. It's only one contract at a time, even though you can have you have multiple. Yeah. Oh, wow. Another another harvest. That's That's an important one to put in a top 10 rules you might miss cuz that's what I would I'll confirm, but I'm pretty sure I'm right. I mean, if you got a third one of these, I mean, I think that's why the rule's there. I think it makes sense. I'm not arguing against it. It's just something that I I think instinctually I would I would think, well, I'm going there, therefore I collect everything I can. But if you're shipping one shipment, you know, you still got a few shipments to bring.
So, turn uh Jesse, your turn. Okay. I'm going to play reconnaissance. I wonder where he's going. Uh, where do you think I'm going? Uh, here. No, I'm going to the spice refinery. I'm going to spend a spice to go ahead and gain four solar surprised. Are you wrong on that? I am wrong. I was very surprised. Not you. He's asking me if I'm wrong on that. It does not say anything. Was that your guess or that was that your instinct or something? You think I thought only when you have made good on the promise will you receive a payment? Is that your turn? When you complete a contract, announce you have done so, gain the rewards it shows. Leave it in your supplies. Okay. I'm completing my contract at the Spice Refinery to go ahead and draw two cards.
Yeah, it does not say. That might be a BG lookup. Yeah, I'll look it up. Okay, it's about to be Mayor's turn. So, and then I am going to go ahead and deploy my lovely fighter. Yes. Uh I out into the combat zone. Yeah. And we're on two and two. Okay, there. I'm gonna play a dagger. Dagger. I'm gonna go here. And I actually have a entry card. I'm going to play contingency plan to give me two Solari so I can spend six because Duncan Idaho's ability says he can spend two less for the swordmaster. Ah, you were going to grab your sword master. I'm going to grab my swordmaster if you can.
He's grabbing it at a deal and thank you. Getting it earlier than any of us can. Y and not actually, you know, like he he's getting it at the same price we would get it if we bought it at eight to start with. So he did decrease the the price for us, but but it's probably a round or two earlier. It's probably around or two earlier than any of us are going to get there. Yep. That was the plan. Cory, that was the plan. And that entry card I got very lucky with. So So this doesn't mean anything. I could just go there if I Yeah, if you had the If a cursory glance at BGG and a glance through the rule book does not elicit results, I would say that he can complete the contracts as they stand. Hang on. Um, it's a big swing.
Paul Denon, the designer of this lovely board game, says that who's he? Yeah. So the the question was asked if you have two contracts that both have the same condition to collect the reward, can I collect the reward on both contracts? And the answer is yes, you must. In fact, it is mandatory to complete contracts. So yeah, if you were to get four spice in a single turn, you would get both of those contracts fulfilled. That is gross. That is that is rather gross. Not that is crazy. Thanks, Paul. One, I I like it because that's where my gut check had had leaned towards in in the first place. And two, uh I'm just going to ask this wild question. You know, I was I was preparing to fight with Paul Denon. I don't feel like I have to anymore, but how much say does the designer have on the board game after it's been published in fans hands and the rule book has been written? It's it's kind of like like a piece of art.
Literature, literature always talks about the fact that when a book goes into existence or a poem goes into existence or a movie goes into, it is no longer the right of the creator in some regard to dictate the way that it's received and interpreted. Yeah, but that was before the existence of Board Game Geek. There you have it. Before the existence of Board Game Geek. All right. Yeah. Whose turn is it? We measure It's mine. We measure time as as before game boardamege geek and after board game Geek. Uh, I'm going to play diplomacy. So, very nice. The question becomes, do I want to go to one particular spot? Do I want to go to a dare? The question is, is violence the answer? The answer is always yes. Um, as you can tell, um, tell you what I'm going to do. I'm actually going to retreat this spy.
Oh, yeah. And I think I'm going to use him to actually uh do I want to go into the frame kit spot here? Uh yeah, you do not want to go into the frame kit. Oo. Or do I want to go I feel like I feel like I should get something. Wait, if I'm retreat Wait, wait. Clarification. And this is me asking this and because I don't actually remember. If I'm pulling a spy, do I need to play a card at all? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I still need to play a card. there. Yeah, you have to have a legal placement to either draw a card or place on top of someone else's mele. Okay. Yeah, good. So, meaning you're interacting with that spy. So, wait, do I want to crash the spy is either kind of sneaking you onto the ground or into that hub or handing you a file full of data that he's collected. That's that's the thematics. So, instead of placing an agent with diplomacy, he's pulling a spy back from one of those spaces. No, no, no, no. So he's So I'm de I'm debating on if I'm going to pull the guy to go to fkit or if I'm just going to go to desert tactics. I think I'm just going to pull the guy to go to frame kit. So he's removing the spy. I mean why as a way to double up here we need water. Um and then uh right can you give me another point please? Because that puts me at two influence now on this track.
Um and then do I want to put Okay. Cory's winning. We need a game. Do I Wait, do I want to put my guy into the conflict zone? And the answer is uh the answer is yes, I do. Really? I do indeed. Okay, he got an intrigue card. That's really good. That's That's what I'm thinking. Yeah, that's up to you. That is up to your interpretation of the matter. That your turn. That is my turn. All right. You have upset most of my plans and me in general. I'm not mad. Who? Me? Yeah, we're going to talk about it off camera later. Let's go for a reconnaissance two.
Really? That's going to give me a do and you want to end that conflict. You can put all three of them out if you'd like. I think get a leg up on that conflict. I think I'm going to go all in. And it's going to do you a spice. You could get a point. Yeah, theoretically. I think since I'm the only one that has a sword, I should win. I have Duncan Idaho. It's pretty accurate. Wait, so is he going to call is he is he going to be equal to three power to three strength? You drew your card cuz I got the shuffle. No. Grab your cube. Yeah. Yeah, it's three strength. All right, cool. Cuz I wasn't sure what the bonus in a six player game. Ignore the six player game idea. All right, I'm playing my dagger. I'm going to go up here to the assembly hall. I'm going to go ahead and grab a intrigue card and I'll get one extra by power. Dropped it.
Nice. I don't know where it went. All right. Smooth. I've lost it. Can I have another turn? I do cuz I cheated. Uh, I have a signate ring. So, I'm going to go here. No, don't let the hook, please. Hook. I am also, yes, I'm also going to deploy this guy, get a water, and deploy Duncan Idaho. So, that's going to give me five more. So, seven. Yep. Go ahead. Very nice. Very nice. Um, I'm going to play one of my twisted mentat intrigue cards. I'm going to play controlled. I look at the top card of my deck. Um, I can either put it back on top of there, discard it, or I can spend one Solari to draw it. Um, and I think I'm going to actually discard it because it's just a dagger and I don't need the dagger. So, who doesn't need a dagger? Well, I mean, I'm a hockey fan from Chicago, so that's one for the dagger. Um, I don't get it. No, don't play h I mean, I don't watch hockey.
At least it's not another uh it's not another Chelsea day. Okay, I get it now. I like the books Boots, don't blame me. Listen, I'm excited like most of the nation to welcome hockey in as the 51st state of America. So, isn't that that's accurate, right? Maple syrup and hockey. Isn't that It's joining us, right? No comment. No comment. There's a libertarian on here, too. Jeez. Boots. Oh, no. It's my turn. Actually, that was just right. I did. I played an intrigue card. I didn't do my reveal yet. So, I get um seven. Wow. I get seven, which I think just I mean, is there a reason not? I mean, there's no reason for me not to do this one. Be a shame if someone else got it.
And I'm going to get a I'm going to grab a contract. So, let's do this guy. The high council here. High council. And then the new contract that comes out is another high council one. That one lets you redeploy. That lets me just pull a guy back up out of the conflict. So, Oh, no. Not I'm an agent. Yeah. Read. Yeah. Just Yeah. Removing an agent. So, um and I had no daggers. So, okay. Boots on a reveal. On a reveal. I have five influence and one dagger. Two daggers. Two daggers. And what's the what's the conditional card you have there? This one. Yeah. So, your conditional card is plus one dagger for each emperor card you revealed, including this one. So, this one's just getting you a single dagger up. And for five bucks, I do believe, you know, this contract card, I don't think it's as great as you guys think it is because two of my contracts are for harvesting. So, you can go to any of That's your fault. Yeah, but this this expands with any other contracts you get. You don't have to take it. I'm I'm just saying that it can be a very useful card if you're going heavy in the contract field. And there are some intrigue cards and other things that link victory points to completing contracts. So there's there's conditions that that are right for it. By the way, is anyone remembering cuz I haven't.
That you can buy tiles when you go to the green location. Yep. Did that cross your mind, mayor, when you went up to the green location? I remember buying tiles there. I just I remembered it. I just don't have the spice for it. You have the spice. I know I do. That's why I'm asking if anyone remembered cuz I definitely did not. I did, but I didn't want to get that cuz I have no way of really getting buying power a lot of buying power yet. I'm grabbing my spice for being driven. Yep. both in and out of the game. And what's the text on the thumper? On what? The thump. Thumper. You get to double your the bonus spice from a location that you've gone to. Yeah. I'm going to go under the assumption that I'm telling the truth that I forgot completely about buying it. Are am I allowed to buy one considering I had spice and went green? Let's give it to him. I'm okay with it.
All right. But much like that one Terraforming Mars game we played, I'll just put it in as an asterisk. What what I usually like doing for things that are conditional rules is like you can do it you can do it once but if you forget again then it's like it's kind of your own fault. So all right you guys talked me into it. Pure pressure. So three and two is five bucks. Very nice. And then my two swords. What? I'm buying the training depot. Perman What does perman card? Yeah. Two strength. Okay. All right. My turn to reveal allegedly. We have a card. A one. A one. A three. Three. A five. Five. A six. Seven. Six. Seven. Eight. Eight. Nice. Yeah. The whole turn was built around picking this guy up.
Nice. The overthrow card uh is coming to me along with a intrigue. Um the new card out is Elite Forces. This is going to be going to the black and red locations. You may trash a card from your hand. If you trash an emperor card, uh you're going to go ahead and get a intrigue, a cube, and you can deploy at that location. It adds an X to the location you just interacted at. Along with that, I'm going to gain uh plus one sword for each other revealed card that provides one or more swords this turn. So, this is not involved, but I will go ahead and get um one, two, three. Yeah. Plus spice. Yep. So, and that'll be him. With the training depot, I'll gain two more swords because I have over six. Now, we see where you are a good duner. I'm doning. I lost so badly. If I have this right, uh, we would both get third place. Correct.
Okay. So, so you are revealing five buying power, not eight or seven. Uh, but I do want this. That does look good. That's two. Ooh, truth. I do believe I am playing the part of Jesse this game. Um, just being terrible. Can I do that? So, you have two left. Two left. Yes. Which is not this. So, if you wanted, you could get a prepared way. Good. So, the they're they're all the same. Yeah. From war name uh is I think I'll get that. If you gained two spice or more this turn, gain a combat troop and draw a card. All right. So, now intrigue cards. Uh you start. You wish to play intrigues. I do actually. I'm going to play go to ground. I'm going to retreat one of my troops. All right. get to move it on down. And then you get to put a spy down. I get to put Oh. Oh, yeah.
Interesting. Okay. Put down a spy. Let's put a spy. H. Well, while while I'm thinking, you you go. So, I mean, it might I mean, is it going to All right. Uh, look over here. Okay. Um, seems like kind of a waste since this is not actually going to give me any extra power. But I'm going to play impress, which I mean it gives me power, but it's not going to do me any good for it. But I'm going to do it for this really for the secondary ability here, which is acquire card that costs three or less. I'm going to grab this guy. I wasn't impressed. Were you impressed? I was very impressed. Impressive. And we have Holy War. Holy War.
Each opponent loses one gain two power. Each opponent spying on the board space where you sent an agent this turn must move that spy one by power a cube. And if you have FM and bond, it adds an X. So all right, Boots, do you wish to play an intrigue? One intrigue for three swords, please. Oh, hedging your bets. Yes. Making sure that Jesse can't do anything. Huh. Jesse, do you wish to play an entry card? I'm okay where I am. Mayor, do you wish to play an entry card? I already played one. You can still play one. We're going around. I will not play an entry card. Boots, are you playing an entry card? No. All right. And then that is it. Boots takes it. Boots will take it. So Boots is going to get an extra point cuz he's going to match up with the bird. Uh he's flip them over. Hold on. Wait. Let's Let's get it out of the way. So I can't cuz otherwise I'm not I'm never going to remember. Put your flag icon on Araen.
You get two Solari and two troops. You get four Solari and one troop. Yep. And then you're going to get three. Three Solari. All right. My one troop's coming home again. So you said these flip or something? Yes. Flip them over and then you lose your guys. Goodbye, guys. All right. Right. So You need to spend hang on two. Get that other guy back. Oh, it's bless the maker and his water. Bless the coming and going of him. May his passage cleanse the world. May the world may he keep the world for his people. Is that a book reference? It is. We need a counter. May I have my agent? Yes, Duncan. Thank you. You're welcome, CNO. Um, enough of this. Okay, first player mark.
First player mark was to me. All right. Uh, new conflict card. It is a dagger. Seize the spice refinery, which yes, spice refinery. Spy and two spice or entry card spice and a dude or two spice. Interesting. I draw from my entry. Oh, hey, that's an interesting card. Um, and then drop. Can't use a worm this time. Nope. No worms. Unless you break the shield wall. I kind of want it. You could always break the shield wall.
Cards. Cards. Cards. Cards. Cards. Oh, man. What do you think, Corey? Um, I'm thinking I just saw my card. Uh, let's see. Um,
I like watching the aggressive pile up of uh, deep desert spice as no one wants to spend three water for. I personally would love to spend three water. If if you could get three water. If you could get three water, that is. is very hard to come by in this version of the game. And on top of that, it it is a big cost. Like you have to have worked at that for a couple rounds before you can actually go there and utilize it. Yep. Um so h there are so many different ways I could go with this. Um, I think I'm going to play my signate ring, which is going to give me a troop here, but I cannot deploy that guy this turn.
And I think I'm going to actually head to I want or do I want siege to? Um, I think I'm going to go for Araen. So, Boots is going to get a coin for doing so. I get another troop. I am not going to be deploying that guy in yet. I'm going to draw a card. I like that. All right. Oops. It's your turn. Oh, this might be the most powerful power play we've ever seen. We're unlike your like your first turn was really confident though. Hey, calm down. Let's place. Oh, so I do believe I'm going for the signant ring.
I got to play this perfectly or I'm going to screw it up. A lot of solar over here. Uh so with my signate ring, I'm going to get a solar and a sweet little cubed out there. Just a little itty bitty cube. And then I'm going to here to the whatever pentagons. Going to the Pentagon. Gather support. Gather support. I'm going to pay two Solari to send two people out here. And you got a water and a fabled water we were just talking about. Yep. And I'm thinking I might buy car. I could buy another solder car, which I will. Jeez. All right. Which of the powers do you want? And since I'm on a uh if you get the extra spice if you hook a one.
No. Yes, you get the extra spice. You don't get the normal spice. Got it. So, I'm canny and driven. All right. The new one that is out is loyal. So, if you have three or more influence on with the dark lord with the Imperium, you get two power. Very nice. Okay. Playing a dagger, popping up to the swordmaster location, spending six. Can I please have my Yep. saw that one coming. Mele back. And that is my play. Oh, I'm buying something. Hold on. Oh. Oh, hold the presses. Oh, all your battle icons are bluebirds. That's kind of fun. And it gives you a little drop down. I think though, I'm just going to go ahead and spend two um to purchase the glow globes. You may look at the top card of your deck at any time. What does that bonus give you?
Gives me up one in one category. One inch. Nice. I I'm gonna go ahead and do it down here with the Fman. And I'm going to go give the dog a little bit of water because I heard her clinking her bowl. So, let's make sure she has some food, some water. Is this a good pea break time? Uh, you can. Yeah. Do we want to all call a pea break? I'm just going to leave it running. We've got cameras in the bathroom, so we'll uh bring the bring the vlog camera with you. Just, you know, really make people experience it. Let me if you're going to take a pee rag. Let me let me take the dog out as well then. Let me just let me take off. You need to this. Okay. Patreon exclusive. Yeah, let's call Patreon exclusive. Mayor, it's your turn. Let's call a 30 second. Okay. Asher, come here. Let's go for a walk. It is your turn, mayor. All righty.
I'll leave my player reconnaissance and go over here. Uh I will take a water and knock down that wall. All right, the shield is now broken. Tear down that wall. Sand worms are now allowed in any conflict. Sand worms should be free. Are you moving anybody into the conflict zone, by the way? Am I? Oh, yes. I was about to say cuz you may do that. All right. So, Boots, how many entry cards do you have? One. Jesse, how many entry cards do you have? Three. Ah, three. And there's a tactile here that says you your entry cards can't be stolen unless you have five or more. I had one of the I had that one last game.
Um uh I'm going to play guild spy. Uh which is going to allow me to go somewhere where here actually put it over here where I have a spy. Um, so, uh, theoretically I could actually Ooh, so I could actually go to that spot here. You can I could go to see Taber. I do actually have the influence for it. Uh, which I think I'm actually going to do, which require me to pull that spy. Um, that's fine. That's going to get me a troop, a water, and it's going to give me a hook by hook or by crook.
Um, and I'm going to move two guys into this conflict. And then the other power from the guild spy allows me to discard a card to draw a card. I'm going to discard my reliable informant. And because that guy is a spacing gelf card, I'm gonna get to draw an intrigue. Nice. And a card. Oh, and I draw a card. That is correct. Very swank indeed. Pretty good. Pretty pretty. Where'd you get the Pretty good. You got another one. He just bought one. He just bought one. He just bought one. It's my thing. It's I do. It's thematically accurate. Uh you good? I'm good. I'm not scared.
Um, I'm going to do the undercover asset. And he lets me ignore influence requirements on board spaces when sending an agent this turn. You would think I would use that to my advantage, but that has been taken uh more than once. Yeah. So, I think I'll double down on Oh my god. Trippling down on the things. Wow. We now have an espionage. Well, I just once again want to say finally something that's not harvest. Thank you to Paul for this rule, this loophole. Maybe Oh. Oh, yeah. Yep. Uh, that's my turn, Jesse. All right, I'm going to go and play diplomacy. Just going to pop over here.
I'm going to launch myself forward. Going to and get the alliance with the Fman. I'm going to gain a water and I'm going to go ahead and draw a card. And are you going to put anybody into the conflict? Yes. Thank you for the question. Of course I will. My boys are heroes. They've never died. We definitely haven't replaced them six times. Okay. I will refrain from making a book reference. Yes. Yeah. All righty. I'm going to play ma pistol. So I'll draw a card. Uh, I will go here. So, I'm going to pay water. I will get this spice and I will get a worm. Get him a worm.
Worms will double your victory condition as long as you win. That that that's the hope. So, he's intending to win hopefully. Does the worm go away after you? The worm will go away. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, the worm cannot be in your barracks. All right. So, he's here to help. It's His name's Dave. Dave. Say hi, Dave. Hi, Dave. Hi, Dave. I like your hole. He's the Reminds me of the popcorn bucket. That whole controversy. How do you popcorn bucket? Uh, they just say you can control the worm. Do they go away? No. Nope. All right, my turn. I'm going to play an entry card. I'm going to play one of my Twisted Menad cards called Withdrawn. Play it to start my turn. I'm going to pass my turn.
Such a weird card. I know. Your turn. I guess so. You can see what Yeah. Just Just fun delay tactics. Delay tactics. So, I believe I have to reveal. Is that special for your character? All right, cool. So, I have $5. Nope. $4. And I have slim pickings to maximize my $4. Uh, no, you've got a good you had a decent amount here. I should have Yeah, don't cut yourself short, man. Uh, I'm going to go for the the the Benadessard over there. What's that say? Truth. True trance. Truth truth trance. Truth trance. And that's all my money. Next card is the Bombast Emperor card.
green location is it no ability. Uh but it does give you command if you have command six you can spend three and trash the or you can gain three and trash this card. So it's just he's an escort. I we're just going to come out publicly with it. Uh he says don't judge him. I'm not judging. He's worth a lot of Salari. No judging. Good value. Okay. Playing a signate ring. I'm going to go ahead and play over here. Gain three spice. That's a good amount of spice. I'm going to recall my troop and then gonna enter him back into the conflict like the hero. Oh, you didn't enter into conflict, right? No, he could. How many entry cards do you have? One. Okay. And let me just He can't He can't play the entry card. He's not even in the conflict. Right. Right. Right.
Oh, there. Oh, I thought there was entry cards that let you put stuff into the conflict. Uh, there are, but I think you already have to have something in there. Is it three you could steal one or is it more than three? Four you can steal one. So three I'm I'm I'm safe for now. You have two. I have two. You have three and you have one. One. Still one. Okay. All right. Mayor. Um, guess I should have drove this. I think I think I think I think what I'm going to do, we'll set up for the next. Ah, you know what? No, screw that. I'm going to make you both discard a card cuz you already played everything, right? Correct. So, you don't have to discard a card. Uh, you discard a card and you discard a card and I'll go over here.
Discard a reconnaissance and draw a card. What? I discarded a reconnaissance. I got rid of a dune the desert planet. Okay. Uh I'm going to reveal I reveal two daggers and one I like that card. It just especially at the end of a round like that. Someone could have exact like when I had eight or Cory had seven. Yeah, it could it could [ __ ] a a big play. Doesn't mean it always will, but it could. I think I'll grab Weirding woman. And there's not as many things that are directly that as as confrontational as that when it comes to other players hands. So, Cargo Runner is a new card that's out there. If you have completed two or more contracts, draw a card. If you have completed four or more contracts, draw a card. You might want to go harvest some spice and pick up this card.
It's entirely possible. I feel like the game is really Oops. Sorry. Wanting me to win. So, already revealed. It's a shame with all that effort the game's putting in, you're not going to be able to. You could easily get a spice must revealing for three. Yep. I was supposed to be revealing for four, but somebody had to be a somebody was a jerk. Somebody was a jerk. That is accurate. That is a terrible sound. People are going to love that. Especially with the microphone right here. Could you have dream? Holy crap. I mean, just letting them know I did not ask for that to happen. I'm going to buy the uh Mala pistol. Sounds good. We've got another truth trans. I don't really like the Mala pistol, but it's better than getting nothing, I think, possibly. Sometimes it's Is it better than you like? Uh, so I've got a dagger. I'm a Fman. Like I have I have I don't have any of my hand.
I've got diplomacy and these. So, I have five. So, I could get holy war. One of the things I like a lot about might be good. It's a good card. Each opponent loses one troop. Each opponent spying on the board space where you sent an agent this turn must move that spawn. Yeah. No, I think that's probably my best bet. One of the things I like a lot about uprising is that it the the power and synergy of the deck building I think is a little bit stronger than base dune. However, they do focus very highly on having um similar factions or similar conditions for for your for your All right. So, everybody has revealed now. Uh so, starting with me. So, right now, Mayor and I are tied on power, which I'm kind of okay with at the moment. Uh so, I will not play any intrigues. Uh Boots is not in the conflict. Jesse, do you wish to play any intrigue?
No. No. Nope. So, your sandworm doubles second place. No. Nope. Because you didn't win the conflict. Oh, I love that. Yep. I'm kind of annoyed. So, uh I'm not even in the conflict and I feel like I won the conflict. You're going to win the next conflict. Probably I'm going to inch my my person forward. So, I get one guy. Each of us get one guy. Get one. Oh, and an intrigue and a and a spice. So, the only thing I'm sad about is that my hero does not continue his story. What was his name again? We didn't name him. Oh, wow. Wait. I mean, he was never from the beginning never had a name. Definitely not something we could have controlled. Nobody gets Well, this would have been good earlier.
May I please have the worm? Oh, you may indeed, sir. All right. Uh, and then hang on. Uh, do you have any more? Okay, Jesse, can I have five of yours? No, it's mine. Yeah. Okay. Because, uh, this guy needs one more over here. What do you say, Cory? Bless the maker and his water. Bless the coming and going of him. May his passage cleanse the world. May keep the world for his people. Water. Water. Water. Water. Water. He said the thing. I said the thing. All right. Waka waka. Waga waga. Oh, I need to actually draw cards. And then the new conflict is Storm in the South. This is a wild winner is going to get to do a deep cover spy along with two spice. Second place gets two intrigues and two money.
Third place gets an intrigue and two money. Did you want to zoom in on that icon or No, that's the icon by the way. Yeah, that is the icon. That is the deep cover. It's not involved enough. So like when I see it, I'm just like, ah, that's a thing. No, should be I should be up. Yeah. I mean, if you want to move me up, sure. Go for it. No. No, I don't. We're good to go. Boots. Go. Go for it. Okay. I'm a little nervous. I don't like my hand. I have to plan this perfectly. I don't want to say what I'm planning, but it's big. It's real big. Diplomacy to the spacing guild. Yes. Mrs. Boots. Uh, he claims it's big. Real big. You got a water. You move up on here and I do not have the Solari to get a third guy. That's my turn. Oh, I see what he's doing. It's so big. It is so big. I don't know what he's doing yet. Uh, this should be patently obvious.
Please. Oh, he's You're going to double that. You're going to go there and double it. I can't take it from you. You can't. No one can. None of us can take it from you. Did you get the thumper? Did you get the thumper? This is a multiplayer. Why can't I point that out? If if you've got the Thumper and you're about one, I spent ever trying to do this one one game. It is very satisfying. I am so excited for you. We're all on board here. We're on team boots right now. Let's go. Let's thump. Boots. Boots. Boots. Boots. Boots. Boots. Boots. Boots. Boots. Boots. Boots. Boots. Let's do it. All right. I'm playing overthrow. Gain two influence instead of one. Only question is where am I going with this? Well, let's see what makes the most sense for you. So, makes no sense for you to do Fman. Uh, you could do you're going to get a point with either one of these three. All of them make sense in terms of getting a point.
Yes. In terms of strategy and like putting people out, winning conflicts, securing the if you're doing winning conflicts, I mean, you do have seven spice over there. So, go you could go to the highlight. I don't know that like this is the time to grab a bunch of power though. Like a few people's nice, but you have contracts available. Or you could do the sardoc car spot which just could load some more of your heroes even if you don't necessarily ret well you can't deploy them yet but you could theoretically you would still have dies there to then retreat. Yeah. The sad thing is I think I probably just would have gone to the location that boots went to. Yeah. Um cuz I I do want the ability to go to this location in the future but I'm not I'm not going to have it. I think I'm just going to go here. Okay. I'm going to spend a spice.
I'm gonna draw a card, which I I already have looked at, by the way, because I have the ability from my tile. Yes. So, I know what I'm drawing up. I know it's worthwhile. Yep. And then I will be able to place a spy down. You know, that's that's kind of interesting. Yeah. Give yourself a point. By the way, I am going to go ahead and place a spice a spy right there. I gain a point. Thank you very much. You're welcome. And this, I think, has done it done its job. That's a good job. Done a very good job, mayor. I'm going to play signate ring. So essentially what I'm going to do, go over here and then deploy it. Okay. And I will pay one spice to get four solar. I That's it. Very nice. Very nice. All right.
Take a look at my intrigues here. I'm going to start my turn by playing sadistic. Lose one of your troops. I lose a troop, but I draw a card. Um that that goes over there. And then and then and then uh I'm going to see Here. I really also should have had a really good I Oh, yeah. Use the move yourself for three. Very nice. Well done there. Um I Okay. Um use your fancy cards to get a third water. Steal the location from boots. You know what you're supposed to do. Yeah, I unfortunately I cannot do that. I would respect that. Jesse, how many entry cards do you have? Just three. Just three still. had to had to be just the three still, huh? Um, okay. I'm going to hate this. All right. I'm going to use You got this, Cory. Yeah, I'm going to use interstellar trade because I really need to use that. I'm going to go up on the
this track here, the emperor track. And then the question becomes, where do I want to go? That is always the question. Um, what's funny about my ability is that frees up the space up in there. Yep. Yep. Um, so it's like a bit of a payoff. I like it. Yeah. Why you're going there? No, he's going here. That's right. That's the thing with him. Um, Right. That's true. I forgot you only have two. It's cuz everybody pointed at it. I was I was just staying in the secret dark. I wasn't last place, but I was really hiding my moves. Yeah, I think I still want this. I think I'm going to go actually to aren, which is going to give Boots a coin. Rich getting richer.
This move two guys into here. I've already moved up on a track. And then this actually technically stays out here while I shuffle. I just So this guy's three. Yeah. And then can you move me to four, please? That just says it on your card or Yeah. Gotcha. Can I do the thing? You can do the thing. Do the thing. Oh, he didn't. I will not be thumping. A really? No. You have the thumper in your deck. He's still getting eight spice. Yeah. I was going to say, can I please get credit for eight spice? That's pretty good. Or I could do four spice and double sand worm. You do you have the hook? You don't have the hook. I need the hook for that. Got you need the hook. Okay, you have to go there first. Let me pay my three water. Oh, can someone help me with all this?
Ouch. Mayor was reaching out. He was going to help. Um, I'm taking a five for the other four and putting one back. Yeah, that's fine. He's cheating, but that's fine. It's a lot of spice. And we're going in, boys. Uh, you can't put all in. You can't put all of them. My bad, boys. Two. Um, what are we looking at here? You could spend two salari though to get another one of your troops out if you had it. He does have one. Another one. Hold on. I'm I'm missing the biggest thing here. Oh, flip him. Uh, we're getting Oh, you also need to put put your dude actually on there. My bad. Yes. So, we're getting That's the biggest part. You're getting eight and two spies. Eight salari. Two spies. Thanks for the assist. And for spying to spawn, we'll go in here. I'd like to keep that spot open.
And here. So that's these gone. Yep. We'll flipped over. And then you may put two guys into the conflict. So a conflict that I'm not sure if I'm going to win, but if I go into the conflict, I'm going to be getting a spice. What? What makes you think you're not going to win? You know, let's live the fight another day. I will not be doing that. Really? You want more spice? I got enough spice. I have all the spice. And you completed how many contracts already? Four. Four already. Wow. Jeez, that's insane. All right, this round took long enough. I think I actually figured out my play while waiting cuz I had no idea what I was going to do.
I'm I'm playing my dagger. Dagger. Dagger. I'm going to pop up here to this location. I'm going to spend two coins to go ahead and grab two little cubes and a water. And I'm going to look over here at the marketplace and consider buying something. Bye. Bye. Entry cards can't be stolen unless you have five or more. Agent turn. Tap this to make an X when you get Do I want to drop four? I have what is it like on so I could tap that. It's a one once per use type of thing, but it'll come it'll refresh to deploy. I I don't think I can justify spending. How many entry cards do you have? Any of that money?
Three. They're pricing you. Oh, me three. Okay, I'm not doing it. Don't forget they're minus one. Um, no, because I don't have the high council seat. Well, I'm going to do dagger. I thought all this was I'm going to go to the high council actually. It's the round one. And so the high council gets right there and I will spend two to buy that guy and um get to pick one. Let can you pass me them? I've never heard of giving discounts to the people only the pharmaceutical companies and it costs minus two minus one to buy minus one to buy those. Okay. Yeah. So this is if I have three influence uh then it gives me two power. I can trash this for three power and I can re uh get a troop by the reveal turn and if any opponent has a sandworm in the conflict plus one. I think I'm going to go with Hardy and that goes into your garrison. No the go into the garrison. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah.
Yeah. All right. So, the new one that comes out from here is another loyal one. I should also mention you can't buy the same one twice. Oh, that that that's a important thing. Uh, that's my turn. Okay. What about the one that you trashed? Cuz I did buy that twice when I played, but I'd already trashed the previous one. You'd already trashed the previous one. And that's okay. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, that one was fine. You just couldn't have both of them at the same time. Um, oh man. Oh, you said it. Feeling good. I'm feeling real good. I'm at the point I want to be with Dune where like I'm stressed. I need people to not mess with what's happening cuz things are going right. If that's what I enjoy like midway through I should feel like every like I have victory. If no one messes with me, buy the thing. I'm going to buy it. You have a very you have a very fragile victory. Uh your entry cards can't be stolen unless you have five or more. And I can either get an entry card or And you go. What would you like? Hello.
You would like an entry card. A here you go, sir. Thank you. Okay. The new tech tile is whenever you recruit a sarduk car commander, trash this, gain an additional sardocar commander skill. Oo, and you get four bucks. Oh, I could have. If you would have bought one of the ts, I could have gotten that. Sorry, Gory. What are you doing? All right, so I am going to Oh, that's right. I could go there, but that would only draw me one card. You know, base dune. All right, I'm going to play weirding woman. That's so weird. What did you call it, Jesse? Uh, I'm going to go to the research station here. I'm going to spend Hear him out. Might not be an insult. Two water. I get two. Wait, guys. I'm going to His silence speaks numbers.
Definitely an insult. Very insulting. Very weirding. Very womanly. I'm going to put definitely going to put one of these guys in there. Um I'm going to then draw two cards. Did you have a Benny Jesuit card on the table? Okay. So, you're not bringing that back up to your hand. No. And uh have a fun fun conflict. That is going to be it. That's going to be it for me. Looks like it's my turn. Indeed. Yeah. I'm having very good mouth feels about this. Scory's games. Feel all the mouths you'd like. Ew. What were you saying about weirding woman? God dang it. So, I'm revealing. I don't think I could do anything else, right? No agents. To be fair, Benny Jesuit is the most powerful brothel in the galaxy.
Allegedly, that's what they do. They seduce the the minds of men and conquer like the universe. No, the Ben Jesuit are in the books. Am I Am I allowed to do this boots? Yeah, clarify. Okay. Up the counter in the boot. In the books because I definitely watched a 20-minute YouTube video promising promising me that the next round of Dune is going to be spicy. The Ben Jesuits are actually watch it. I was excited about it. I decided I should probably have reading Have you been reading his Dune fanfiction? Hey, no judging. Anyways, no, the Ben A Jesuit are are obsessive. Um, especially in the early books, they're obsessed. Well, I mean, they're always obsessive about the gene pool and the and the actual like and getting, you know, evolving the best into the human into the human species as a whole. Um, especially in the beginning, they're very obsessed with bringing about the Quizatarak, which would be a a male who who actually has the same powers as the Reverend Mothers in the Benjeser. So they're they're more concerned about breeding rather than like actually like doing it. They're they're more like manipulating behind the scenes the bloodlines. But they're they're as far as I'm aware very comfortable using sensuality as one of the means by which and mental games and lies and li like but sensuality is a is a cornerstone to how they don't even try. one of the
things infiltrate and marry and and and facilitate their their Yes. Yes. It is one of the things, but it's not it's not the primary. I heard you brothel. We got it. We made it there. So, I one ear out the other. $5 or $4 on a contract. I'm definitely going to take a contract and spend my $4 on this card that is about people with completed contracts. We got So if I have two or more completed contracts, draw a card. If I have four, draw two cards. Luna do trace. Watch. Nice. Wow. Feeling good. Totally. Mouth feels. I'm going to begin to panic cuz Cory went to the location that I I had had thought I was going to be going to. So Ouch. Um I'm going to I'm going to think and talk at the same time. The YouTube video. Are you able to do that? Yeah.
The YouTube video I watched I don't think or talk. So the the YouTube video that I watched, Cory, was actually more nuanced than I'm of course jumping to. Um, but it it highlighted the fact that as the books continue, the the influence and kind of relationships that the Benzeset have with the political leaders and with the higherups, not only are they depicted as extremely powerful and extremely manipulative, but it's it's it's through all of these different um highly effective factors that they're that they're achieving that. and and since they're, you know, a a faction of powerful women, one of those factors is is their sensuality. And so it said that this next this next stage in the Dune series, the Dune movies, if it's accurate to the literature, actually needs to be quite a bit spicier and and and maybe um problematic for the audience. The the depiction that I had in my mind is kind of like they were they're they're like Handmaiden's Tale if they were in power. Like if the Handmaid's Tail women were actually the people in power the whole time. Sort of.
I mean, if this if they decide to make because I know the the director was thinking about making um bas basically turning the second book Dunisiah into the third movie. I don't recall there being I mean there is kind of that background noise where it's um you know they kind of hate the fact that Paul is in charge of everything and kind of want to do something to disrupt him. Um, so they do they have they do have that. As far as the other powers though, especially um books, you know, books three and books three and four, they really have lost a lot of their power. I I think it's only in this next in this next stage, this where the movies are headed right now. Yeah. That that they take a a forefront um and they take a for they take a they take the spotlight because of the relationships that they have and the connections. after you skip into the into the books after that, like the whole galaxy is different. Like like everything's different. You're reading about You're not even read about humans necessarily. Like it's a No, you're reading about humans. You're a humans.
But it's it's funny because you get past the fourth book, you you learn about a group of people who are more obsessive with that than the than the uh the Ben Jesuit are. This is all because he went to your space. It's a problem. Yeah. I mean, this is my this is I'm like the only I highly recommend reading the first four. You don't need you don't need to go beyond that. I am because I'm kind of completionist. You you enjoy them that much that you think like because they're hard to get into. They're hard to get through. I mean, you need to understand when you're reading the book, the the fundamental understanding is is that Frank Herbert loves throwing in philosophy into the book. So, there will be times when nothing really happens like story-wise, but it's because he's opining on on different things philosophically. So, as long as you understand that and you're comfortable with the fact that he's going to be using a lot of philosophy in his book, then it's not moving slowly.
I'm drawing a card. Yes. Yes, you are. Speaking of moving slowly. Yeah, Jesse. All right, mayor. It's your turn. Okay. Uh, I'm going to go over here. We're going to recruit a sandworm. He's recruiting a sandworm. And I will deploy these two. So, I'll go up to 10. Man, you are a violent boy. I never said I wasn't. That's true. Like I said, small but mighty. All right, let's see. Let me see if I'm adding this up correctly here. Violence is the answer. Where' Red Bull go? Where's my go?
Okay. So, I am going to Where did all the Where did all the spice go? Oh, it's there. Uh, I'm going to play the litany against fear. So, no, it's at the start of your turn. It is at the start of my turn right now. Yeah. Does that not mean the start of uh That's a round start of my turn. I'm going to, you know, I had it for one game and I think I played it once in that entire I must not fear. Fear is the mind right away cuz I was excited. Fear is the small death that will that brings total obliteration. What he said. Yeah. I will something my fear. I will allow it to I don't remember that one word. I will allow it to pass to pass above me and through me and yeah something something. Basically it'll go through me. It'll go past me and then when it is gone only I will remain. All right. Revealing. I have five by power.
Sadly, I gain one spice. I have two daggers, but I also gain an extra dagger for this card. So, three total bonus daggers. I don't get my bonus from my training depot. And my five by power. Nice. My five by power are going to facilitate this one for four. Ah, and of course a nice five pops out. Do I want to bother with the bombast for one gains me three money? I think that's probably a worthwhile trade. It might clutter my hand, but it also might just give me some extra solar, which I like.
Okay. Okay. So, I've got five by power because I'm on the high council. Um, I believe I get a dude in the garrison. Mhm. And another dude in the garrison because of the reveal turn. Yep. Um, so what can I buy for five? Let's see. Trash discarding an emperor card from your hand. Gain two influences instead of one. If I place this, if I go to start a card with an agent, does it mean I could take him back? Yep. Or any of them? Yeah. Yep. Um, let me see something really quick. You would need four spice in order to do so, which I think you have enough spice. I'm good for the rest of the game. It goes faster than you'd assume. Don't think. Don't bring me down. I will get Bruce. A truth. Don't bring me down. No, Bruce.
Nope. And that's it. No, not at all. None of those guys. None of them. Go ahead. I don't want that. All right. So, I have to do got a massive reveal. Yeah, I really do. You know why? cuz you drew the cards I wanted to draw. I did. Uh, I have nine. Wow. And two daggers. Uh, Spice Must Flow, please. And thank you. Please move me up. I already put it. I put Please move me. He already got me. Please move me up one point. Good play. Very nice. Did you know you were drawing up into that? Like, did you were you confident in it or you were close? So, I had I had nine in my hand and then when I went I went to the research station because I didn't want to I could reveal Yeah. and I could just immediately get it or I could spend something, go somewhere, but I wanted to make sure I went somewhere you spend one the odds that you were going to get and remain with the nine. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, by the way, also before I forget, guild spies ability on the reveal turn is if you bought the spice must flow, you gain an influence with every faction you have a spy on, which is that guy right there.
Beautiful job. Yeah. Very nice. This happens to be the first card that I drew from research station. So, it was just perfect. Yeah. Uh, Jesse, intrigue cards. Uh, wait, did Boots reveal? No, I'm out. He revealed he revealed. He revealed everybody's re Oh, that's right. Because I was last. cuz we both have uh Right. So, um Jesse, are you spending are you playing any entry cards? If one of you does, I could come back and play, right? That is correct. So, not right now. Okay. Mayor, are you playing an entry card? Nope. Okay. So, what's the main about? So, what's second place here? Second place is two cards and two money. But third place is one card two money. So, and boots is not here. So, no matter what, I could at least get third place here. I could theoretically go for first, but honestly, spy and deep cover twice and four spice. Not entirely sure I want to necessarily do that. So, I'm going to play the first Twisted Menad card I got at the beginning of this game. I'm going to play Sinister. I lose two of my troops to get an intrigue card and a coin to get an intrigue card and a coin.
That's not that sad. So yours goes down by two by four. Uh by four. Okay. Get an intrigue. I get a coin. Interesting. And now look guys, a Shira snuck in. Shar. Man, you are quiet. I know you were filming indeed. Hi Shira. But yeah, I've had that the entire time. There have been multiple times where I've had two guys in the conflict, but ended up either winning or being in such a good spot where it was like, I don't actually want to lose two of my troops right now. You could be back there. I don't think you're really on camera if you're on this couch. And you could and you didn't want second place because No, I mean, but second place, second place health, someone can steal the entry. No, but here's the thing. If I get if I don't play that card and I get second place, I get two entry cards and two money, right? If I play the entry card and get third place, I get two entry cards and three money.
Mhm. Because that entry card gave me an entry and a money. So, it gives me more to to scale down than his. Okay. It's another very tight, very satis That is an entry card that I have played. So, now we go again. Jesse, you have a choice again. if you wish to play an intrigue because you definitely are not currently worried about me. Unless that intrigue card you got is really good. Unless the intrigue card I got helps me do stuff. Or you can save it for another combat. That is also true. I'm not I'm not going to play. I'm also not. Oh boy. Oh boy. Oh boy.
Um, right. That could let me do that. That reminds me of a song that I sing to my son. Hey, boy. Boy, you're a boy. You're a boy. Oh, boy. Boy, you're a boy. When I change. Yeah. No, I'm not going to I'm not made up. Yeah. So, I get four spice. You get four spice. I I sing a lot of songs that just repeat the same three words. Two super spies. Put that there. And icon. What else is a good spot? I'm going to put one on the uh Imperium. Okay, cool. Um like, wow, that's poop. That's a lot of poop. So much poop. That's a lot of poop. Jesse gets two intrigues and two money. Uh I get two money and I get one intrigue. I don't feel like I really got that much out of that besides for, you know, getting the uh Hey guys, wild card. I did it. I made it to the end of the track. I gained a water. Nice. Very nicely done. Does it reset though? It will. It will circle back around. I don't think Oh, I guess when I hit reset. Yeah. Um I was going to waste a whole round. Yeah. So, I got you. So, yeah. So, everybody Okay. I already put the spice down there. My agent down there by the high council. Yes, you may.
Um and then the new conflict card. We're into the level threes now. Um, battle for Arachen, which is already controlled by Boots. I think Boots Boots might get a bonus here for a second. I need to double check in the rules. Uh, but the winner is going to get a point. Control of Arken. And if you remove two spies from the board, you get another point. Uh, second place gets an entry card, one spice, three money. And third place gets two spice and two money. Very nice. Is that me? Why am I ringing? Uh, move the We've moved the the worm. Yep, we've moved the worm. All right. Can someone please leave a comment down below why I have a 9:49 p.m. alarm?
You ad HD people are weird. Let me know why I was trying to wake up 4 days ago at this time and why in the last 4 days as the alarms continued to go off, I haven't stopped it. Uh, alum 949. It's morning. I think that has to do with words. Okay. Oh, you a grammar, please. What the heck? It's actually grammar. Uh, what do you think? What do you think my bonus is here? I'm intrigued. Not that I'm going to go into battle. What do you think your what my bonuses? If I already Oh. Oh, right. I was going to look that up. It was your turn. Um,
okay. Big stuff's happening. Are we ready for it? Uh, no. Show me your big stuff. Show me what you got. Don't ruin my innuendo. All right, I'm playing my signate ring. I'm going to go here to research station, spending two water. My signate ring also though allows me to spend an additional water in order to draw two additional cards. So, I'm going to be drawing a total of four cards.
Um, I recruit two troops which I will go ahead and set out into the battle because my boys are heroes. And after that, I need to take a quick look at the cards that I have here. Okay, so this Okay. This doesn't specify. Okay, mayor. Yes. Uh, I'm going to play holy war. I'm going to go here. Spend a spice and whoever has to say a wave. Each opponent loses one troop.
Oh, which five bad guy or the you lose one troop. Each opponent spying on the board space where you sent an agent this turn must move that spy. Oh, thank you. Um, I like that. Um, and then I'm going to remove the spy to draw a card. Okay. Uh, and because I went there, I will draw a card and place a spy and move up there. Can I get a point? I need to decide where I'm putting this guy. Uh, play one card. Throw two cards over here. Pretty good. It was also huge stuff. Okay. Oh, and here we go. Here we go. It's on the back of the rule book. Found it. Um, when a conflict card is revealed for a space that you already control, you may deploy one troop from your supply to the conflict. To the conflict.
So, straight in. Straight in. So, when you win it. No, right now. So, right now, because you already are in control of Araine, right? Oh, because we just revealed another card that's for Archenee, you just get a free guy. Okay. I knew it was that way in the base game. I just didn't know if it was necessarily for here or not. That's an interesting nuanced rule, too, that people probably don't get. It's very easy to miss. I think I'm I think I missed it every time until I downloaded the app and then it did it for me. I was like, "Oh, that's a thing." Just just a quick just a quick private aside. Um the guys aren't listening now. Asked them to all cover their ears and their respect. Ear muffs. I just drew four cards. Spent like every like all my water, three water. Went to a you know, okay spot. four cards. Looking for one card in my deck. It was Oh, it's Mau. It's my turn, right? I have multiple cards that have the icon that I was looking for.
Didn't get it. Didn't I've got seven cards. Seven or eight cards in my hand. Didn't get it. What a shame. That's a It's your turn. Yes, it is. I think this is a reverse psychology, actually. That's a shame. Come back. Yeah, it's not a shame. get the uh get the, you know, Seinfeld gift in there. Like that's a shame. Uh I'm gonna play Weirding Woman, which weird. Yep. My god. We need another market tile out there, by the way. Oh, yes, we do. Oh, research st station. Um I'm going to go to the spice refinery. I'm going to spend this guy for four sp for four money. Good. Yep.
Undercover asset. We are going to probably the high council because I have a contract because you'll spend five money but get three back. That's pretty nice. Permanent two bucks. But I got to make sure I still have the things I want to do. Oh, yep. If I have a guy over here, can I still go there also or it's No, if your if your dude's already there, you can't you can't Yeah. send Got it. So, spending two essentially two and then flip over the contract. Contract. Yeah, that is a damn good turn. That's pretty nice.
I wasn't ready. Oh man. Technically, I could pull this back to draw a card. Technically, you could think I should. It's up to you. What do you think? Pull back the spy to draw a card. Yeah. Um I'm not getting any benefits. No, wait. Yes, I will. You don't have your swordmaster yet. So, so the only thing I' Keeping him there would let me get the swordmaster if somebody else goes if someone else goes there. And Corey also doesn't have a swordmaster. So, that is true. Both of you are in a position to buy. Yeah, that's the only note that I would make. And you if you went there next, you could then draw back to draw a card. So, you could still get the benefit of it just leaving it there as security.
Love card. Yeah, you don't have any green. All right, J, your turn. You know that awkward moment where like there's so many good options and you only have one icon that is playable. Do it. Do it now. Yes, you must do it. Anakin
going here. Boots got a money false orders. Each opponent spy on the board space where you sent this agent must move that spy and then you put a spy on that spot. And then I put a spy on that spot. Okay, I'm moving the spy again. Didn't you you went over there? You know what? I'm actually going to put this guy here. That spy is terrible. He keeps getting found out. I know. What the heck? Not a good spot. He's the Jesse of spies. I drew another I spent all my actions drawing five cards this turn and all of them are blank. Oh, fuckus. Blank nonsense. They give me nothing. They do nothing for me. They're rude. They're cruel.
Mayor, what are you doing? I'm going to play dagger. He's going to dagger. Dagger's going to dagger. Uh, I'm going to go here, right? I'll get two troops over here. Two troops. I will also be buying a tech. So there and I'll get that on your reveal turn. You may you may just deploy I get two more troops on an agent turn on an agent turn. So can I do that? You could if you wish. Is there one that you want deploy the troops I just got with him? I mean yes. Uh so so I can deploy he he forgot about buying attack. Are we are we going to give him the same thing you gave? Is it is it all troops that I got the whole game or the whole this whole that turn? So I can deploy six troops. What's what are the tactile?
So I got two troops from there and I got two troops from there. So that's six troops. I believe that is correct. Okay. So what mayor just did was the tactile that he just got allowed him on an agent turn to flip it over to deploy to do a deploy. Mhm. His main action gave him two uh two troops. Y buying that tech gave him another two troops. So flipping it over should allow him to deploy four that he just earned plus two from the X. Yes. Yeah. Six. And if I am wrong, please, I am sorry. Please mention that in the comments. Don't give him an opportunity. That's what it's that's what it has seemed like. Go ahead. All right. Now I'm going to do what I should have done last turn, which is play some of my god dang entry cards.
I don't think you can find a guacal video where I played wrong. Pretty sure I'll stand by that. But I did go back put my name on that. Uh I forgot to buy a tactile. Yeah. What's the one you picked up? So I picked up steel blades. Whenever I recruit a commander, I could trash this to gain an additional So I get two of these instead of one. Nice. Yep. Um, I'm going to play unnatural. So, I'm going to trash one of my entry cards, which is going to be that one to draw an entry card. And then, since that was not a twisted mentat card, I'm going to get one troop here.
What do I get here? Can I see the uh uh the contracts? Can't see the glare from the Sure. These are the contracts. All right. So, that's this guy. Next up is I like that. That's me. Why do you have an alarm? I have an alarm at 10 specifically on Sunday to prepare to prep for for Shaw tomorrow morning. That's reasonable. Which I have already done. So, but it is helpful in case I have not done that. You won. That's a good alarm. My alarm was for nothing. I was probably napping and I said it. All right, I'm going to play another the entry card that I just drew. I'm going to play Siech Ritual, which I'm going to discard a card. Going to discard a dagger and I'm going to go up one on the Benjesser. Can you give me another point, please? That's going to give me another entry card.
Um, so that is not useful. Okay. So then the Oh, no, not the dagger. Just realized why not the dagger. I'm going to discard reconnaissance. I'm going because I'm going to pay the dagger. Ah, and then grab my swordmaster. Nice. Very nice. All good there. All good now. Truth trance. Wow. I think almost Yeah, everyone Oh, almost almost everyone has their swordmaster. So, calm down. You know, just for that, I'm not going to feel bad about this at all. Truth trance, we're going to the spacing guild. Paying five spice. Oh, boy. Deploying the everliving crap. And two more if you wish. Out of this battle. Okay. So, that is That is 16. 12. Yeah, 16. That is past red for now. I mean, he could deploy. He could end up deploying a sandworm.
Uh, and then could you move me up? Yes. Space and G. Gives you another point. A point. Yep. And that is the end of my girthy turn. Please don't. Oh god. Please don't. We're gonna get Jesse demonetized. No, no. Let's all acknowledge it was Girthy. Thank you. Yeah. I'll give them I'll give a man. That's all I ask for. Yeah. Dear kids, I'm so sorry. Specifically my kids. I'm so sorry. I know you're watching this. I I blocked them all. I blocked them all. No, you did not. They both got new Two of them got new YouTube accounts just cuz I blocked them. No, I will watch my dad play.
Papa, when Papa, can you hear me? When Papa, bring the bread. Papa, can you see me? All right. Bombast, I didn't want to play this. I am going to though. I'm annoyed by the whole sequence of You may not go there. Why? It has influence requirements. Okay. Well, I can't go there, guys. You cannot go there. So, I just wanted my hopes and dreams to be shot down. You want to go to the other spot? No, I wanted to go there. This is a good spot. What's wrong with that spot? I spent the entire last turn thinking about that action. So, just give me about five minutes here to sit and consider. Um, but yeah. So, I'm going to ruminate on my own. While he's ruminating about this, here's the act here's the actual stance on the book. Okay, if you read the first book and just want to be done with it after the first book, you will you will be fine. You will love it.
You'll have had a great time. You'll have fond memories. If you wish to go on, I highly highly recommend at least reading the second book, Dune Messiah. It's B. It's a lot shorter and it's essentially just an epilogue um to the actions of the first book. And you again after the second book you can be completely done with it and you'll have enjoyed it and great if you choose to read the third book. Now the third book is good. Not as good as the other as the first two but it is good. If you choose to read the third book your reward for reading the third book is that you get to read the fourth book. Book four is actually in my opinion the second best book in the entire series which is why I find it which which is why your reward for reading the third book is you get to read the fourth book because it's a lot better. Did you need 5 minutes or 25 minutes? I'm struggling so much and I actually only have cried now. Oh, keep going. I think this is his strategy is to just go on about the books and make us but yeah distract just distract us.
But yeah, whose turn is it? I'm just having a real hard time. And then after the fourth book, you can completely stop. And again, that's my recommendation. If you're playing, then you can't do Hulk. The only viable location up there is it's the assembly hall is an intrigue card and a buy. Yeah, that's terrible. I don't want that at all. This is a very good entry card. Yeah, but it gives him four intrigues. Is that That's his I looked at it. It says when you play it, you can't talk about the books for the rest of the game. Oh, that's intriguing. Oh, that's intriguing. Okay. I've also got a yellow. But get some spice. Two spice. Old spice. Man, it's just it's like none of this stuff is what I would like. I get to talk about the books. I get to talk like I I resource station's not here. I miss the old spice guy. Espionage is not a place I'm likely to go. So, I don't need either of these tiles. These are These are a good option, too. That's what I was looking at. I was looking at getting those tiles, but I forget commercials in other countries also. I'm just going to grab two spikes. Getting a couple of commercials in. The Terry Cruz ones are also funny. Terry Cruz is good. And that is such a That's a heartbreaking turn.
I mean, you could reveal early. It's also true. They do say that. I might I'd rather have two spice than an extra buy, I think. Let me do the math on it real quick. Man, do math. Kids, do not do math. Yeah, I'm fine. All right, mayor. I think my uh best play right now is to go for an intrigue card. Yep. All right. Um you get an intrigue. I get an intrigue. And what in the world? And mayor, yes, you get to grab one of my intrigues. I have four. He get And oh, okay. I thought he was discarded. Nope.
This is in discard technically. What in the world is this? Okay. Um, so I think I want to play one of these so no one can steal from me. Even because someone could steal cuz you have five right now. Yeah. Um, yeah. So I think what about my spice? Well, I move up on that. I move up on that and I think I'm going to play special mission. So, I'm going to put this over here. Very nice. Um, another thing I can do though is uh you know what? That's it. All right. And then that is your turn.
Okay. So Jesse kind of went on the spot on one of the spots I was thinking of going on to. See, you went on a spot. Oh, I'm sorry. See, you went on a spot that he wanted to go on and he didn't have a whole monologue about it. No, but it's Oh, he's getting there. No, but it's okay. The monologue about because you see in the book, I'm just kidding. Uh the books are all about going where other people don't want you to go. That is not how I sound at the slightest. I'm playing reliable informant. Uh I'm going here. Don't yell at him. The fourth book's my favorite cuz I bought it from a store and it's got a slight must of urine. What? Why are you buying pee books? Trying to make me choke. This is how you're going to win. Just kill me. And that's it for me. A little.
Your turn. Wow. I believe I have to reveal. Yeah, allegedly I have two, four, six, seven, eight, and a spice. Eight and a spice. Solid reveal. Not a Spice Must Flow reveal. I didn't want to say it. Yeah, that's not nice. He brought it up. So, I believe this card was catered to me, wasn't it? He knows he's below average. If you have No, it's a Sand Arms. That That That's what I want. Trash's card for a card. Gain two influence instead of one. Don't hate it. None of these are uh really tickling fancy. Mhm. Wait, how many how many entry cards do you have? Three. Okay. Uh I'm going to go for this. I guess my water for sure. So, it's two bucks and I still have uh four six bucks, which is exactly how much? I don't know what it is, but I want it.
Should we find out what it is? It says, uh, complete one of my contracts. If you have completed four or more contracts, trash this card to move up on all of these. Nice, man. There's a new card. Pretty good, Jesse. Yeah. I guess I got to keep these out. You good? All right. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Nine total spice. I will buy. A spice must flow. A victory point is a victory point. So I did move up three because when I revealed Yeah. Did you keep in mind that you have two extra? He did. Yep. Okay. But I also went up two more because I have an agent on a space. Yes, you did. And I got a spice. So my training depot will raise me by two.
Then this card will raise me by one two three four five putting me up to 11 at the moment. Um I do gain no I don't gain any I do gain I get rid of this card and I gain three salari and I think that is all that she wrote or he wrote men can write too. They uh so I've got six over here and I've got two from the high council unless you're in the storm archives. The spice must flow that is Anderson, but I think I'll get this. Got two more. In his books, only the women read. Let's see. The desert card you play this round has all agent icons added. Well, let me tell you, if you think that's sexist, you know what you shouldn't read? If you go beyond the fourth I'll get that. Yeah. Have we told you about the Ben Jezette? Yeah. Have you heard the good name of our Lord and Savior?
Uh, so I have a very pitiful reveal which is I reveal one and there's nothing for one out here. That is a very pitiful reveal. That was a terrible reveal. That's fine. That's bad. You should feel bad. I'm bad and you should feel bad. Yeah. Let's get to the battle. So, let's fight. Conflict starts with Jesse. Do you wish to play an entry card? I'm currently in third place and yeah, likely not taking first. So, no. Where's the worm? There's no worms. There's no worms. Oh, the He has it. Oh, the table. Um, yeah. No, no intrigues. I thought I was going to be in this one. I can't play anything. Boots, do you want to play an entry card? I don't see why you would. Huh? You might. We have a whole stack of entry cards. Well, if you pass, I do pass. Then no one can play after that. So, um, you're the final say.
Boots does not Boots does have two spies. If you want, if you wish to remove two of your spies, you're going to get two points in total for this. I got you, Boots. Thank you. Please. Okay, so that guy. Good play. That was actually a good And that guy a couple steps. Second place is mayor who gets an intrigue spice and three solar three monies. I keep my flag it but I am going first so it doesn't No, I could have used this one. So when can I pay for my guys to go here? Oh man. Anytime you go to a location, right? Or location with an X. No, any location. Any if any location. Yeah, any location. Anytime you take an action on your turn, you can spend two. If you don't have an X, you get two and two.
Two and two. Thank you. And then boots, you get this card. Doesn't line up with anything. It will contest a lot of resources over there. The new conflict is a wild winner is going to get to move up once on two different faction tracks. Second place, is this a three? No, this is a three. Second place gets an intrigue and three spice. And third place gets three spice. How many are left? There are two more after this. Cool. Okay. Grab people back. All right. All right.
And then one, two, three, four, five. Okay. What are you thinking, Mayor? I'm thinking we know. Well, we assume that, but what what is it that you're thinking? It's a good question. Honestly, sometimes I don't even know. I've been dwelling on it a lot recently. Just thinking about what I'm trying to think about, you know, life. And then I realized that the act of thinking and without thinking is the process of thinking in and of itself. And I get into a logical circle that keeps me awake until the wee hours of the morning and then I'm just tired. I see why you're terrible.
That's what I like to say. He's It's his turn. He's like I know he's behind, but So that one must be like the side of the table thing. He'll get there. Ooh. So, that one says, "For each entry card you draw or steal during your turn, deploy at the conflict." So, if you buy this tech card, would I flip these? Yeah. So, I'm actually going to play opportunism. I'll move down on this and on this. Give one point. A point and two money and two solar. It's a worthwhile trade indeed. Yeah, here you go. Well, it makes it also that no one can steal my uh cards. Very nice. Um, what else should I do? I could go to the high council now. I overpaid, don't I? But then I get another intrigue card. Um, that one would trash an intrigue to get an intrigue and redeploy. So, maybe I'll go there.
Why not? Let's prepare the way. go here. Uh, nope. What? Influence requirement. Oh, yeah. You're right. Remember that. Dang it. Yeah, never mind. What's odd is by this stage in the game, normally I go heavy on the influence track. We've all actually think low played the influence track. So, it's odd that I can't go to some location. You have. I haven't. Okay. All of us a little bit. All All of us that matter. Two of them haven't been scored at two cards away from end. Three battles left. Two of them haven't been scored. That's That's odd. I'm going to draw a bunch of cards. So, if I go here, take this away, I'll draw You're going to draw two cards. Two cards. And then I can And then the third card from there and a third card from there. And then I can redeploy this. Yeah. Um, let's put it over here. Did you move your And I'll And I'll No, I already moved it. Okay. I already got you.
That's my turn. All right. So, I'm going to play Elite Forces. You may trash a card from your hand. If you trash an emperor card, I'm going to trash a card, but unfortunately, it's not an emperor card. Trash. Um, but I'm going to go here. Uh, I'm going to gain a water and then give me another point, please. And that'll also give me three monies.
And Yep. Wait, how did I go there? Yeah. Yeah. No, you couldn't have gone there. Yeah, I know. It's late. I didn't catch that. Do you have a card? I mean, you can still go there and you're still drawing the same amount of cards anyway, right? Okay. And I get a dollar. And you get a dollar. Am I drawing the same amount of cards? I don't have one card. It's one card there. One card, right? I was drawing But you're still getting this two instead of three cuz I don't move that. Oh, he doesn't he doesn't. Oh, right. Because you don't I mean, you could still theoretically pull it anyway just to get a card. I can I can pull this. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, the location. I don't think you have to be going to that location. I don't think you have to go to the location. You have three people here going, "Oh, I think you have to be at the location." I could be wrong on that. I For me, thematically, it's like, I could be wrong. You're showing up, they're giving you a briefcase full of documents.
A spy may also be recalled without the use of a card for one of two effects. Gather intelligence whenever you send an agent. Yeah, never mind. It has to be when you send it to that space. Okay, so I put the I put the card. Yeah. Okay. I was wrong. And you completed your turn. Uh, no, that was just his. That was Yeah. Yeah. Do you wish to put into the conflict? Uh, yeah. Cameras are dying up top. So, I'm going to change the batteries out. Okay. So, for my turn, I'm going to play my signate ring. Yay. So, signate ring is going to give me a troop that I cannot deploy into the conflict right now. Uh, I'm going to go to the high council, which gives me the high council seat here, which is lovely. But it also finishes this contract, which is going to give What? You get dollars? Nope.
Nope. Is going to give me the chance to recall one of my agents, which is going to be that guy. Cute. Very nice. So, I uh I kind of like that. This is why boots we use seven cameras. Yep. We duplicate angles. So, Boots, it is now your turn. Know why I got confused? Because I have a card that would let me go there. Ah, all right. Good thing I caught it early. Yo, I would like to join the swordmaster club. Yes, it's very exclusive club. I will do that. I'll do that with my signant ring. Also, Boop. Cost you six money. Six bucks. I have I get that. All right, Jesse. Oh, I do get a Did I Did you give me back the spice? So, instead of getting a coin and a Did cuz I put the spice together. Did you ma'am? I did not touch it. I didn't take it. I'm going to pay $3 to go up on a track. Which track would you like to go up? All of them.
Let's go ahead and do They're all so tasty. No. Little tasty. No, they are. I mean, you got to admit. Yeah, they're tasty. They're a little They're spicy. They're spicy. Let's go for Freeman Bremen. The Freeman. Yes, that's right. Go ahead. Cuz they're free in that. No. diplomacy. I'm going to go here. I want a spy and I want a card. I have to spend a spice. Draw a card and gain and place a spy on the board. Where though do I want my spy?
I spy. I'm going to lock this off. Never mind. Okay, mayor. Okay, I think I'm going to play covert operation and I will go here. Check the sign. What? I said check. Check a sign. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, we did. So, everyone discard a card. No, I'll draw a card. I was just kidding. I like all my cards. You can't make me. Oh, this gets flipped over. Um, and I get another spy. I'll put him back over here. Why not? I move out. Thank you. And uh that's it, right?
Okay. Um, see, I was smart. I could have just done that last turn instead of, you know, that, but I'm not. You are in less place. Okay, that changes things. You don't have You didn't I didn't You didn't move me up. What? Oh, my yellow. Sorry. Thanks. That's fine. Um, great. Just great. Um, that's my baby crying on a phone. The camera's can pick it up. Probably. You have no idea how good the microphones are picking up stuff. Can for sure hear. They can hear the clicking of the dog's feet. That's why I cringe whenever she walks around.
Yeah, like I made a that's what she said joke on the uh terraforming Mars video and I'm like, "Oh, I said it so quietly. Nobody's going to hear it." And it was just Let me explain to you what people can hear. That's horrifying. You also hear your monologuing and his monologuing, which is worse than slipping water. Exactly. Yep. Um, see boots only when we're not talking about the Dune books. Exactly. I'm sorry. When I sit down on the couch, I'm going to play def. He's on to you. I'm going to go here. We've got a four-month-old. He's wonderful. Hard and learning how to sleep, which is a hard thing. It's hard being baby sometimes. Um, and am I going to put somebody Did you know that boots into the It's hard being baby sometimes.
conflict. It is hard being a hard job. I'm still learning. Yeah, I'll put a couple guys into the conflict. Sure. Put some people in the conflict. Why not? Indeed. Indeed. Boots, it is your turn. We're daggering. Dagger. Dagger. Dagger. Dagger. We are going back to the council. I could either gather support. I got the money for it. I like water. I could go to the assembly hall. get some intrigue for some more end points to someone who needs to drink water. I can't confirm play. Speaking of water. Yeah. Uh, and additionally, I don't want to skip on this again. I'm going to buy this for two bucks or two spice.
Thank you. Uh, for each entry card you draw or steal during your turn, deploy to the conflict. How's the timing work on this? Uh, I believe the buying is so I put the guy here. Let me look. Buy the thing first. Yeah, I'd say I think it's all collected. Um, any order like he did. By the way, you have a discount. I got it. You got it already? Yeah. Um, I wanted to get that. You're not supposed to let me know that. Well, now in now I'm saying you got it. I didn't let you know it. I know, but I get the satisfaction now. So, it's like a I paid too spice to ruin, but now I get to complain. I mean, that is arguably much better. I mean, I'll put it back. Don't make stop.
Um I mean, I believe I can see the card. I don't believe there's I don't believe there's a timing rule here, Jesse. I think you can do this. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. Yeah. I'm I'm saying it's permissible. It's always Yep. What? He's just talking about the timing. Yeah, if he's if he's if the buying is happening first. Oh, yeah. I don't see one. Yeah. To acquire this, you must trash one of your spies from the board. Uh then tap it to draw an entry card. Is it my turn yet? Yeah, it really is. Okay. All right. Let's just do what we can. um playing this lovely circle card. I'm going to recall my spy so that I can go to that position. I'm going to gain a cube. We're going to enter the battle with said cube. I'm going to what? Oh, I don't know. I'm just making sure reminding you that you have that. I'm going to draw this. I also gained two additional cubes because I recalled a spy during this turn.
And we're going to enter the battle with all of my adorable cubes. They are not adorable. They're brave. They're brave. They're brave and they're valid. That's my turn. They are. I'm play signate ring. Um I'm going to go over here. And I think what we're going to do is spend two solar, four solar actually to deploy this. Uh nope. Go over there. I am going to end up deploying but and I'll get a water and I don't think I want that advanced data analysis. It's too risky. So unless wait did everyone deploy?
No, not everyone. Okay. No, everyone still is able to deploy. So yeah, that's too risky. And then uh we'll move him combat. Okay, so if I play this guy for his effect, I can do absolutely nothing. So
all right, I think Yeah, I think I'm going to play this entry card, which is resourceful. The card I play on this turn has those three icons. Pretty good. So, that's going to be helpful, especially since I just drew my guild spy. Nice. If you discard a spacing guild card, which I have no cards in my hand, so I cannot do that. Um, but I am going to go here. I'm going to spend the water, get the bonus spice, and deploy a sandworm.
Uh-oh. Sandworm's out. Sandworm, please. Boots. Ra into here. Your troops died. That's No, that's legit. That's legit. You lose four. You got eaten. You should have avoided that. So you're at seven. That's your fault. Get back. And Cory pulls ahead. Ide. And I am done. He's got seven power. As we're playing, I've been thinking of like things I would change for Dune. I now think that a 20-sided die where a crit fail means that your troops actually get eaten by the worm. Necessary change. We've got it. And a and a crit and a crit success doesn't work. Do not go into the power time. All right, we are going I think we are going all three people to the council.
Might be crazy. So I was just there. I'm going to go. That's a lot of people at the council. Yeah, I'm going to pay the two. Oh, I had meant to You're going to have another turn. Or that's agent turn, not real turn. Yeah, you could have done that. I'm going to pay the $2. Give me two. Well, this would Why would I not put change your thing? Change your number. By the way, that's stupid. Oh, so that's six. If you're putting everyone into the battle, you might not, but you know, you got to pay. You have to pay for them though each. That's what I was thinking. I was thinking the cube was a guy. Um, and additionally, I will buy this.
Jesse, new techile is on the reveal turn. Get one extra persuasion. That's pretty good. And you get two entry cards when you get it. Very nice. How many cards do you have in hand? Three. All right. Cuz I make you discard. This is also Oh, you mean intrigues? No, I made you discard. Oh, that I have zero. All right. Intrigues also. You have three. Intrigues. I have three. Overthrow is going down. Revealed. I haven't yet. I'm going to playing into secrets. I get to draw an intrigue and then I go up two. Cory, you do two intrigue, please. Does anyone have more than three?
Oh, mayor's got four. Exactly. But he's got his But I have my thing that protected. You don't have it. Nope. I have two. What is this symbol? I'm not sorry. On the ixium. This which one? This symbol at the top. Oh, that means you just if you're playing with the tech tiles. Oh. Oh. You can. You have that card. Oh, because this cares about tactiles, correct? If you have two or more techiles, you go up on them. Yep.
You have actions left or no? Hm. Do you have actions left? Do I have agents? You mean? Yeah. No. Okay. All right. Mayor, reveal. Okay. So, Jesse, move your card out of there. No. Yeah. Get out of there. So, that's two, two, three, one power. uh four and I get a troop. Uh and I can uh what do you call it again? Uh deploy or retreat one of my troops. Uh I think I'll actually retreat. Okay, that's and then or five. Uh yeah, five and another five. Seven because you have a high comp and yeah, seven. Um, I'm in the running for the game, not for any of the battles I want to be in the running for. You're in the running to win. So, I I'm competitive for the game. Certainly.
Okay. Yeah. Oh, and then also reveal turn. I get the fact that I keep not getting battles though. I keep thinking I'm going to be able to go for it. And the fact that I keep whiffing them just by the edge something. If I do that the whole way through, I'm not I'm not running, you know? I got to I got to pull one out. But so I got three more. Yep. Uh, I don't have any influence over there, so that's useless. Pretty much useless to me for now. Although, retreating two troops. And that's that lets me deploy more during the reveal. Um, this is actually pretty Oh, wait. I can't buy that anyway. No, I'm not going to not going to buy anything else. All right, I reveal.
Wow. Nice. You are not good at revealing. So with this guy, does this just mean? So it's during the reveal. If you have six command, you can then add troops into the battle. So you'd get you'd be able to add two troops or any that you got during the reveal. So you might presumably have things that give you troops during your reveal. Okay. Like this. Yeah. So I'm revealing also revealing just one uh in addition to my two and the one up here. That's four. You took the card. I wanted this. Yeah. Yeah, that was a great card for us. For us tactile boys. He's not. I have none. I'm surprised. I haven't gotten any dead. So, this guy will let me cool my deck a little bit.
And this is from my hand or the discard pile. Correct. Well, I'm sick of drawing crap. It is an emperor card, which would go well with my other emperors. Yep. He's the one you're getting. Yep. Leadership up. Calculus of power. Trash card. Trash. Another emperor card in play. Gain some strength. On to me for my reveal. Indeed. Two. I get one spice. I have four power, which sadly Do you Did you have a Fman card out in play? Um, yep. Yes. Fman right there. Yeah. You This is my pile. So, um, you're going to get an extra two strength when you say in play. It's like this is your reveal. Yeah, it's it's the ones that I use to put down actions. Oh, okay. Yeah, they technically go don't go directly. They don't go immediately.
They discard. Okay. But it matters for things like this. And we forget until it matters. I do. Um, so you have four. Yeah. Oh, technically I would have had two actually because I found the high council, but I didn't want any of the twos anyway.
Yes, future me. I realize I have two, but I don't want any of these cards. Thank you for commenting. Are you also talking to future you? Like you're commenting? I I did that on the terraforming Mars video. I commented saying, "Hey, Fedora guy, you forgot something. How dare you? This guy doesn't know how to play. I'm gonna play tactical operations. Can't do that right now." Oh, it's a combat. Sorry. I thought it was a plot. Nope. Yeah, I'm going to do the same thing with it. But I'm retreating. I'm messing with my track. All right. I think that's I think that's Are you buying anything? Oh, I'm stressed. No, you're Jesse. It's okay. It's okay. Feeling stressed. He wouldn't be Jesse if he wasn't stressed. No, but he's Jesse. That he's stressed.
Whatever. All the jokes going over there are terrible. See, I'm at least doing it because I'm a father. Like, I'm I make dad jokes. He's not. He has no kids. This is just a faux paw. Yeah, that's true. I will fight you. Ah, I'm not. No. Oh, please show me love for puns in the comments. I'm not buying anything. Okay. Can Can I get the boxing gloves out? No. All right, mayor, you are first. Do you wish to uh play any intrigues? Um, I don't I not only don't like puns. There's certain things that I I'm playing find weakness that I don't like. Remove my spine off of the board. I'm going to gain five power, please. You accidentally pun that's Jesse. Like wearing Mickey Mouse ears to Disneyland.
So, you got 12. Yep. Okay. Uh, Boots, are you playing an intrigue? I have one cube in the fight and two intrigue cards. Do you think you can get higher than Jesse? Uh yeah. Um for third place. No. Jesse, you going to retreat your troops? You don't really have a lot invested in this. Retreat. Any number of your troops. Um if you retreat all of them, you three spikes. I can retreat two. You can. So, does that move you up two on the track? No, just one. Um, whenever you retreat or lose any number of troops, but it will get me a spice. Okay, mayor. I'll play graspus. I will gain three. Okay, so you tied us for third place for now.
So, now neither of us are. I will play Questionable Methods. Not. Oh, okay. So, I'm going to go down on here and I'm going to move up five again. Okay. We're just going to play some leap frog over here. One, two, three. Do you wish to play any intrigues? Well, now that I know Jesse did that. Now you have a chance. Um, I'm going to Oh, look at those eyes. I can't do that. Jesse, are you playing any more entries? He has enough spice. You do have a lot. I won at the moment. No, mayor. Yeah, I'm going to remove two spies from the board. Seven. He really wants that. I'll get to 21. 21. We hungry. Uh, remove this one and t the petitos. Mhm. Uh, that would be flipped over. Okay.
Okay. Um, this was the one I stole from you. No, it wasn't. No. Oh, I stole the other. You stole the other one? I wanted to make you spend that one cuz it was going to give you stuff. Um, I'm going to get it anyway. This has been a really solid gameplay of Dune. I'm enjoying myself so much. Do I want to do this guy? I'm gonna I'm going to hold off. You having a good time? Every turn. So, mayor, you get to move up. Two on. Yep. One. Well, once on two things, right? Yes. So, we'll move up here, which gives you an entry every turn. That felt very mean. Um, yeah. Where else do I want to move? Except those turns where my hand grew up against me, but even then it was it was fun. Like it's on those turns where your hand was lacking. I get an intrigue.
Girthy is what? And I get a I get three spice as well. I get three spice. You also get three spice. And I go up my track. That's all I really want to do. You lose your guys, you get the card. Do these just flip over automatically or Okay. Cuz even though they're wild. Yep. Even though they're wild. End of game. Battle for Imperial Basin. Oh, another one that can. Yeah. An extra spice can give you points. Jesse,
everybody make sure to take your guys off of You get the first I get the thing. And we repopulated the spice. Uh, we did. Yeah, I did. You didn't say the thing. Thank you. I said it. You just didn't hear it. Well, then it's as if you didn't. All right. Blue guys, return your men. Sorry. Blue Man Group. Roll out. Did you just combine Blue Man Group and Transformers? Yes. Who's the new worm? Cory, I am. He is the worm. How many intrigue cards do you guys each have? I've got three.
Four. I've been trying to stay below my limit purpose. It makes things very difficult. Interesting. Okay. So, what do I want to do here? Um
I want to play interstellar trade. It's going to move me up one. I'm going to do it over here. Can you give me one point, please? Um, and then I'm going to put this guy on uh Can you please put me on Ara, which is going to give some money, give me a troop. We've paid a lot off of that, actually. And it's going to let me draw a card. Pretty good. Yep. That's your turn, huh? That's my turn. That's it. And these last turns. I have to plan this expertly.
So, take notes. We are going to diplomacy to the water store. Good play. Good play. Very nice. Very nice. He's buying a gentleman. And yes, he's getting two tiles for it. Put him in the garrison. The two tiles obviously is the one I have the influence in and that would probably refresh. Why are you buying two tiles? Oh, uh, sorry. He has the ability that you when he purchases. Yep. Uh, so would this refresh after I pick up another one?
What's that tactile called? Uh, plastades. It's a very specific question. It is a very specific question. Um, I'd imagine it'd be So, okay. So, it doesn't list it specifically under that, but hold on. What is it? Hang on. Would this refresh after I draw the first one? So, I had more when you're buying two tiles. Hang on. So, I have more treats to pick from. I Yes. The market, all markets, all markets that I'm familiar with refresh during the purchase. After taking your choice, deal a new one from the stack to replace it. Yeah. So, we get a new one which is charismatic. On the reveal turn, you get an extra. I mean, I have to get that one by default. I mean, look at me.
Yep. Trashes. That's right. Boots. That's right, buddy. But with the Benj. Okay, never mind. Uh, I can't get another loyal. So, yeah, I guess I do have to get Charismatic. Yep. I I want to win this game. I do really want to. I'm just throwing that out there. I hope you do. Let me win. No, I'm not letting me win. Like, I'm I'm like okay with it being a little bit more quiet on camera cuz I'm sitting here trying to make sure that I'm maximizing my actions. It's my turn. Your turn. And watch me not maximize my actions. Um, playing my signate ring. Don't want any troops to retreat, so that's a thing.
I'm going to pay three bucks to go up to that location where I'm going to place my guy and recall my guy. Yep. I'm going to draw a card upon doing that. Yep. And then trash an intrigue to draw a new intrigue. I can trash an intrigue to draw an intrigue. You move me up, right? Yeah.
You made me use all my uh combat intrigues. I did. That was the intended purpose of that. I mean, I got my intended purpose. I mean, didn't give you any points, and you spent all of the intrigues that you could have that could you could have used for this one. Yeah. That was the point. Or I can get more injured. That is also So can I. And so did I. Right. Yeah. I'm going to I'm going to I'm going to trash this to draw a different one. I think I think I give him a new one. All right. And then I think that was the best play for me anyway. Cory, I might still um want to do stuff. Okay. So, so you want me to to figure out something to talk about? It won't be about the books. I just don't I don't want four in my in my hand. So, I'm spending two to get five is is my next play. I just didn't want four. Like, I literally got rid of one that would have given me five power with a water just because I I don't want four in my hand cuz you're annoying.
Mayor, it's your turn. Your turn. For the record, Mayor's the only one who's stolen cards this game. Who's what? Stolen entry cards. I tried. Yeah. you know, fail tried. Uh, your sign ring. Uh, I'm going to play this and this time you play it correctly. Uh, so I'll get a troop, get two water and a spice. Nice. Are you moving anybody into the conflict zone? And yes, I'm done. Okay. What's this card? That's a discarded card or trash card or what have you. That was one of Jesse's cards, I believe. Hey, and he trashed it. Cuz he thought it was terrible. Calm down. It's a bad card. Hey, it is a pretty bad card. Don't lie.
So unacceptable. You just see this thing. I do. I do. It's my turn here. I'm going to play weirding woman. I'm going to go up to shipping, please. I'm going to move up on this guy. So, it's going to give me eight. So, I'm going to spend three spice. Uh, it's going to give me eight money in total.
And that is it. Darn it. I was not ready for that. You were trying to steal my uh my alliance a little bit. Yeah, a little bit. I saw that coming. Oh man, there's four things that I want to do and I'm failing at all of them. Okay, that no one expected you to be a good golfer. All right, you got to let that one go. I'm not realizing. And you're so an okay husband. So like what? You know. Ouch. Actually have no idea how you are. That's rough. I've never seen you in that capacity. I am a garbage husband. Oh no. Oh, you were right. You got me there. You stay home all the time though for your wife instead of playing board games. You got to have some merit to your name. That's true. Uh cargo runners. Don't you guys have like a weekly date night? Kind of. That's pretty good. Kind of.
So, Cargo Runner. Uh, I believe I'm going to go back to the council. Uh, but the cool thing is if I have four contracts, I get to draw two cards. So, I don't know the order here. But where do I want to go? I feel like I should contribute. I feel like I should win a battle because y'all are going to get two points. And that's just two guys to my garrison. Yep. Not deployed. I don't have any X's, as Jesse calls them, even though they're clearly swords. What? Anyways, two cards, don't forget. Yep. Two card draw. Um, I could not cannot draw biotectile. Yep.
Jesse, disappointing. I'm not freaking out. Why not? Okay. playing mala pistol. I am going to go right here. It's going to give me two card draw. Okay. Then I get a tile. You do. Am I interested in either of those? Not really, but I'll grab that one for I I actually really wanted that one. Oh, an immediate immediate one. It's pretty nice. Earn an alliance.
There's no military there. What's the earn alliance? Who is that? Earn any alliance. Oh, you get that. That means go up on that. Okay, cool. Okay, that's actually pretty cool. All right, I will play signary. I'll go here. Get these two spice. Four or worms plus two worms. Two sand worms. Two sand worms. Right into the conflict and we will deploy. So, we're at uh eight plus six 14. 14. I think that that might be enough for now. Uh, and then because you took a card that I wanted, uh, I'm gonna make sure that I get a card that I want and get that and a solar. Can I spend this now to put in this guy? Two sand worms. Yes.
Okay. Uh, no. No, I won't. It's a lot of sand. It's a lot of worms. Two bodies. Refinery and two people. So sand worms are three three strength. Yep. So I have 14 strength right now. Oh, and because I used my signate ring. Uh 17. That's the most strength I've ever seen. It's a lot of I had 21 last time. I wasn't looking. Wasn't paying attention. Um listen, I'm in last place. I really want to try to make sure that I get these points this time cuz the last time I tried I think uh you won.
I do recall that. Yeah. And I could have taken those I could have gotten both blinds also. So So that would have been good. Our situation would be a little reversed. Yep. Let me see what does this card do here. Actually trash this card number gain two influence instead of one. Interesting. Don't know if I necessarily have I do have an emperor card. I was holding on to that intrigue card for so long. Um, so, oh wait, I have a good idea. I'm going to play reconnaissance. Yeah. So, what I was going to say about an hour ago when I let Cory speak because he was taking his turn. When I first played Dune, base Dune, just Dune Imperium, no expansions, nothing. I didn't like it because it read simple in a lot of areas. Your turn. It felt more introductory. Actually, wait, hold on before. It's kind of incredible that the framework of that original game. No, I'm good. This is a lot. Like, it's complex.
You got to think ahead. Multiple turns. The deck building's satisfying. Yep. This is a very different game from Yeah. I have Yeah. And yet it's still the same. Like it's it's it's strange. It's similar. It's similar. I I have I mean I'm enjoying this. I always enjoy this this game to an Imperium in whatever version it is. Mhm. I will say I definitely prefer the the original version than Uprising. Really? Yeah. Mhm. I much prefer um for a number of reasons. We should we should do a head video where cuz I prefer uprising. It'd be an interesting I know you prefer uprising. Are you generally not a combative person? No, it's not. It's not that. Um and and the regular Dune Imperium has combat his turn. Cory, so let me Are you generally not a combative person?
All right. I'm th I'm really not. Oh, so you get three spice in total. Oh, you wanted to do it. Do you want to do it over there? No, I tried. You made that. You made that decision easier for me. You have three in total and you may move people into the conflict zone if you wish. I do wish. Do it. So definitely him. No, I'm I definitely am the kind of person who entered. Which one's entered this turn from conflict? Uh none. Okay. So you can only do two. So that's four. I mean, honestly, you haven't you're not engaged in these battles as well. I'm not trying to take it from like you're in them, but you're not. You know, that makes sense. You're also trying to take I would love the points. Yeah. I wouldn't say no.
Yep. All right. Play my dagger. Green. Going up here. Spending three. You've been hoarding those resources. Go there. I get to shuffle. He's trying to spice mus flow is essentially what this amounts to. That's the kind of stuff you do in the base Imperium game. Draw a card. He has He has been getting a bunch. Nice. You got two, right? I'm going to recall. Um and then you can trash. I'm going to buy a tile. Wait, where did you go? He went to here. Why? But then he rec the influence still. You still don't have the influence. Oh, okay.
Um, is there a reworking of that? Oh, man. Cuz you shuffled. Well, no. It's It's as though cuz he did it earlier in the round. It was the first It was the very first action that I did. None of us noticed. I thought we already slapped his hand once. We did. Again, we're at we're at the stage of the game where it literally is never this this way. Yeah. So, we'll take we'll take take back this one and double asterisk. Yeah. Yeah. So, if Jesse wins, we know he cheated. Oh, by the way, new one out here is Charismatic again. Pretty good. No, I mean, let's let's see if we can rework it a little bit without messing up what other people have done to be, you know, to be as possible, right? So, rewind this. Rewind this. Is this the one you just started? Uh, yes.
$6 back is back to me. Uh the entry cards that you trashed just one. Yeah. So this one Well, he he trash. Oh, you didn't trash one for this one. I just drew this card. Um the other card that I would have drawn was it wasn't the dagger, but it was it was Dune and then it was dagger after that in this. So, okay, this is back. Got it. Um, I drew like two worthless cards from that, the dagger being one of them, which wasn't worthless, but made me try to do the same cycle again. Um, what did I do with the intrigue? I got rid of one and drew one, which I haven't initiated right now. So, the only thing I now need to do is I need to have had spent one of my cards to go to a different location. The first card that I put down was my signate ring. Um, allowing me to go to any location. I went to green. So, now if I pick a location that that's fair for that, you know, that balances out a little bit. Yeah.
So, let me see. I don't I don't have water on the board, right? Um, I could have went up and just grabbed a high council seat, which isn't Yeah, a terrible play, you know. Still let you buy a tech. It would It would have let me buy attack. Are do we agree that other than changing where my mele goes from the first play, I've reset? Yeah. From the beginning. Okay. So, we'll take that. Take that one. Yeah. Yeah. So, one of them has to be the first play that I did. No one's gone to high council. We'll say that I my first play was to go to high council. Yep. Um I'm spending five council. Everyone's on the high council. I put two on. I could buy a tech if I want.
Um did you get your $3 back from the He did. Wait, I had one card. What is the card that I spent? It gave me something. I traded two. No, I but I I spent a card. I traded two for five, right? Traded two for five. So five should be back. What was the intrigue you got from trashing the first one? It was so So five should be back, two should be back. So that that evens that out. That's the one thing that I remember I was forgetting. So now if I want to buy a tile from the first round, battle icons are blue jays. Reveal turn gives you one. Board space costs you one spice or one coin less. There's not that many places. You haven't been winning much battles for that to matter. Give you stuff though.
Um I've just got so much spice to you though. I mean navigation chamber is probably the best one. It's getting Well, navigation chamber wasn't out, right? So I'm going to play this as fair as I can. I remembered that I forgot to buy a tile after that first green play. So I'm not going to buy I'm not I'm I'm not going I don't think it's fair for me to buy a tile now. in retrospect, right? Because I I I I legitimately forgot to buy a tile. But playing another green. So that's that's what I was going to say. If I play another green one, then I can buy a tile. So there's only So this there's only one green space. The second action I took would have been over here, giving me the location and giving me the card. So now the question is, am I playing into a different location? Am I playing into a green location and drawing out more cards. The only other one I could go to would be the green over there. In terms of the main board, there's just not a lot on the table, guys. Nope.
There's just not a lot here. Okay, I'm not I'm not I'm not going to be able to play up into the green. Man, I can't believe I'm not up on two of those tracks. It's so brutal. Okay. Um, I'm going to play this one, which will at least let me play down into this location. Do I want to draw a card? You don't have water anyway. Right. Right. I'm going to put two troops out into the battle. You're going to draw a card. I'm going to draw a card. I'm going to look at the next card because I can do that. And I am going to I'm going to recall my spy to draw.
Did you move me up on the track, by the way? You did. Okay. Um I don't have any sand worms, so I don't get any bonuses from that. Okay. Um and am I still sitting at four? I am sitting at four, which means I needed to I would No one made a choice to steal. Cy, did you make a choice not to steal because I didn't have four? No. Or because you didn't? I didn't have the cards. Okay. So, you're fine with me not Yes. garbagging one? Yes. Okay. Um All right. Everyone feels like that was a fair reworking. Agreed. It's laid. We understand. I I I I think it's balanced. Asterisk. Asterisk is on it. Not an asterisk. I want it balanced. I don't want an asterisk. All right.
I'm going to go here. Uh, cash in this. Get two. I'll draw two cards and I'll place the spy back over there. Okay. Um, and I get two troops that can go over there. I will flip this over to deploy them. Why do you get two troops? Uh, from Oh, uh, no. No, you do not. You did not get the alliance. Oh, that's what that means. That's what that means. Okay. Oh, that means that the that that that thing. Okay. My bad. Okay. I'm now on my game. Okay. Okay. Whatever. I messed up with Jesse. I'm not messing up with Mayor. Well, I still draw two cards. Yes. Yes. Okay. All right. So, for me, Oh, that's actually annoying. Okay. Really? You don't need more people. I'm going to reveal.
I got a spice and I have six. So, I'm going to go ahead and grab this guy. Come on. I would have rather gotten that guy.
Um, and I'm going to play honor guard. This is going to do nothing for me at the moment. However, you'll set me up for later. as well as the fact that otherwise at the beginning of my next turn I'm going to have four intrigues and I don't want that. So boots time to reveal. This is going to be an interesting one. So I do have completed four more contracts. Can you move all my things up which I think is messed up. Do you Does that card get trashed? Yes. So you're going to trash you get one point. You get three money. That's cool. That's That card gets trashed. Hand to me. Uh, so I have $3.
I have two. That's not an emperor card, is it? It is. It was not. Oh, no. Spacing guild. So, I get two swords. I get two swords for playing two emperor cards. And for my undercover asset, I can either place a spy or get two more swords. Cruise cards. And I think I will place a spy
where they want to go. They're getting close to me. I mean, Mayor's winning right now. Yeah. I just don't want to lose my second place. I'm going to go for the two swords. Swords. 100 guys with swords. That's it. Aladdin. Oh, no. I got to buy. I got to buy. You're done. So, three. How many do you have? Two. Still has two. Mayor two. Five bucks. You keep asking people. I ask him and you, not him. That's $1 plus something to get $2. What that bottom text? Oh. Uh this uh retreat two troops to get two spend.
That' be good for you, huh? I mean, my track gives me just like some spice, so some it's not so central to my strategy by some water. All right, that it. That's good. Uh did you get all of your uh solder car thing bonuses? Sure. So, four more swords, a spice, and uh technically I had another dollar, but we're all good. All right. Thanks, Jesse. I get a spice. I get two swords, two buy, and a cube. I get a sword. I get a buy. A buy and a buy. I am at eight buy with the Mhm. Oh, extra ones on the board, which is heartbreaking because if I had bought this, I also I would have been at nine.
Um, and so that's that's a crushing error as well. Um, see, I work for myself and against myself. All right, what am I buying for eight? Anything out here that I want to fill? Um, I don't like these cards much at all. Trash cards, some extra swords. They're not going to give me location on the board. Do I throw away eight by power? Cuz nothing on the table is Do you got this up here? Compelling. You got it. I was counting it. I kind of think I do. I mean, we're going into the last round.
You you get three more spice. You could buy the cheapest and hope something else comes out. Yeah. I just I just would rather have uh I would I would rather have the guarantee of like the solid cards that I have. I could buy more of these just to fill my deck and hopefully draw into um another, you know, another Spice Must Flow card. But that doesn't help me secure. I think I'm I think I'm locking in, guys. Throwing away. All right. That's a lot. You're not doing anything. Yeah. No. There. Okay. I got two. Uh, four from the high council. Five. And no, I never hit another one because of the reveal. Nope. You don't have.
Okay. I do get one more though. Um, and so that's what did I say? Five, six, seven. Yes. So, also close, but not quite. Um, I'm going to get this and spying on the board space. You sent an agent to this turn. Place the spy on the scene observation post player spy. Interesting. Uh, and I have four left. Maybe. Yeah, get that. All right. Um, I am not in the conflict. Boots, are you playing an entry card?
I'm going to pass as the first Jesse for what? The battle for five spice. I don't think so. So, you're saying no? Technically, two spice. Really?
I'm not. Yeah. All right. Do it. All right. So, that's going to be He gets four points for this. Four points. Oh, right. Because you doubled the effect because you have the sand worm. Oh, did not see that coming. Doesn't have to pay to pay four twice. Oh, you don't have to pay four. He gets three points. Three points. Still pretty good. Um, at least we all have And also two points over here. Yeah. at the at the end of the game. At the end of the game, uh, and then Yeah. And that's I should have should have had a little spice. My slow card. Should have, would have, could have. This is Karma right here. There you go. Right there. I'm a worm. I wish I had more more spice, man. That would have been good. Feel like Rick and Morty merged with Dune. Like I'm a worm, Marty.
We have Battle for Spice Refinery. Oh, by the way, you put your flag over at Imperial Basin. Oh, yeah. Yep. Take your flag. Uh, winner of this conflict gets a point. And if you spend six money, you get another point. Uh, there is also second place gets an entry card and three spice. And third place gets three spice. And after that is gone, it game's over. Game's over. We We're going to This is the last round. One of the lowest scoring games I've seen actually, which for four players, I mean you usually I'm playing two or three players. So, do you think Bloodlines uh it definitely it definitely seems to slow down uprising, but I don't I don't know why cuz it doesn't seem like it adds that much extra little stuff, but it does seem to it does seem to tighten it up and slow it down. Makes it a little bit more of a long strategic game. Cory, would you agree with that? Uh, say that again.
Mixing in blood lines into into Uprising seems to slow down the flow of the game a little bit in a positive way. Like it tightens it up and and lengthens it. But I guess that's a no. Base dunes quick. Yeah. What's a maker? What's a maker board space? Any of the harvest spaces. Yeah. Where worms are. So boots, you are maker. Okay, we are going to secure that last what do you call them? Reputation point. I have zero strategy here other than just to get that. Yep. I'm going to pick that. I'm going to go there though. Okay, that's a pretty good strategy honestly. So, you draw a card. Get a point. Yeah, you get a point. First place.
Yeah, draw a card and place a spy. We are going. Where's going to be the hot ticket? I think uh actually where do I am I going to need to go?
Got the water. Let's go there. Okay, Jesse. Okay, diplomacy going here. Four, five. I literally have been drawing for any of the like every turn when I was like, I can't draw up. I'm looking for any of these cards that give me stuff and they've just been hidden in my deck. Um I I tick up there, I guess. Oh yeah, sorry. I accidentally Nope. Um, no, not yet. Oh, you Oh, okay. accidentally moved you instead of him. Okay. I'm getting five. Yep. troops.
I can also move this guy out. Yep. Um, I'm going to Let me look at Can I look at the top of my deck if I don't have a deck? Uh, yeah, you can shuffle. So, at any time I can look at the top card. No, because he's going to have to discard card for the end. He only has to draw when he's drawing a card. The cards that he's playing this turn are This is my discard pile. I have the ability to look at the top of my deck, but I have nothing left in my deck. Yeah, shuffle. No, the cards that he's playing are going to go to that. My guess is he can't. My guess is what's the tactile name? So, I'm going to choose to bring back is glowing. It does. It doesn't It doesn't matter either way. I'm going to choose to bring back my spy without knowing what's on the top of my deck because I can't see it because there's nothing there. I'm going to shuffle and draw. That's how most games rule the the difference between the three decks. Or else there's no distinct So, you're saying it's port planning? No, I'm saying that's fine. Um
um the card the cards that you play, they go into the discord file. No, they go they're in play. They're in play, right? Yeah, just want to mayor, your turn. Okay. Uh, I'm going to play covert operation. Everyone's going to discard a card. I'm going to go here. Draw a card. Get an intrigue. Uh, can I get an intrigue? And you move up here. And I move up. So, I'm going to get that. And I earn the alliance. Loses one point. Mayor gains one point. And now I earned the alliance. Yes. Um, I'll take that. And I get an intrigue card. Why? Oh, from point doing that thing. Yeah. And does anyone have four or more? Nope. Jesse, you have four or more intrigues? I do. I get an intrigue.
That is That is a funny card. All right, I'm done. Um, okay. So, it's not You were saying you wanted to win. Come on.
I still have to discard a card, too. Going to play Elite Forces. Go here. Grab a water. Oops. Your turn. I am one short of everything. This is deploy. I can deploy all of them for that round or that turn. That turn specifically. So I feel like this is the last turn of the game. It is last round. It is. It is the last round. Last round. So, I really should use my delivery logistics, too.
Um, but I can't go to start a car because I only have three spice. Yes, let's back that up a little bit. Let's get some spice. So, we'll go here. Pay water. If I sent an ADA to make our board spaces turn cube it up. Yep. You're going to get three spice and you can take that eight uh your spy off to draw a card if you wish to draw a card. I do. All right. So, you draw a card which you you'll have to shuffle. You also may choose uh up to to move up to three people into the middle. Um I'm going to do that, but I'm also going to make one of them. Yes, that works. And that's my turn.
Okay, playing this pistol. I'm going to pop down here. Boots, get some money. Grab a cube. Go out with said cube. Draw two cards. I see those powers over there. Planning on getting another one.
Are you still taking your turn? No. You're done. Yeah. Okay. Not happy about any of it. I feel like that's the end of Dune appearing for a lot of people except for the person that's winning. All right. Because it's so tight. But I could be winning. Holy War, but it's so tight. I could be there. So, we're going to go here. I believe maybe Unless, see, I have like a tough This is a weird turn for me because I have a bunch of cards that I want to use for the reveal. Um, but I also want to place cards. So, so you know what? I'm going to play this.
Go here. Gives you a water. Hit a water and a card. Yep. And then what's the ability on that? And the ability is if you have one or more uh samuros into a conflict. Ah, then yeah. Do you wish to move anybody into the conflict? Okay, my turn. I will recite the litany against fear and then end my turn. Really kept it short. All right. This is a bonafide Hail Mary. Now delivery logistics. gonna go here. That would have been a good card. All right, so you get a point. You get this. You get a spy.
Doesn't really matter at this point. You think? I mean, well, let's see. Where am I going to go next? Can I hold off on placing this spy in the order of events? Because order of events is drawing two cards. Yeah. And Yeah. And I'm I'm I'm going to have the option to buy this guy. Correct. But so let's uh let's draw two cards. Okay. Draw two cards.
And let's draw intrigue. Yep. And four of your guys go into the garrison. Uh, and then when I draw an intrigue, I deploy one of these one of these to the conflict. Yeah. And then the other four. Yep. And that's a lot of birds. And and then I'll do this as well to bring him back. spend the four spice by the way. Oh yeah, good call. And the only thing I have left to do is pay for that guy. But if I do if I do get him, I'll get two of these. You'll get Yeah, which you can't do charismatic. Can't do charismatic. Can't do loyal. Can't do loyal.
Um you can do desperate. I am very desperate. But they're not that helpful. And I would like to possibly be in the running for that second point. Nah, I'm going to keep them there. Okay. Um, did you draw your two cards? I did. Did you place your spy? I did not. So much so much to do. You're at eight now. Yep. Good call. Let's do a big old I have one water. This is crucial. This is the game. No swords. I was trying to get the signate ring. No swords here.
I think that that helped me a lot in combat. Can I borrow a water? I don't have any, man. Damn. One more to go. Is that it? Yeah. Final answer. Final answer.
Man, the amount of compromises that have to be made right now is heartbreaking. It's concerning. So sad. All right. Playing a dagger. Going here. Spending two to gain um two troops out of water. Two troops and a water. And I am buying a tile. I'm buying this cost of four. Um, and I gained two intrigue cards. Please, please, please, please, please do something great for me. Um, you can play plots now. Yes.
Okay. Um, yeah, that's fine. I'm going to play this, which is going to let me spend five spice for a victory point. That's so pretty good. We'll do that. Um, wait, what's the bottom one? It's you you can also if you have three influence on the Fman, you can which he does, but he doesn't have three water. Three water. Yeah. Um, you took the spot I wanted. And then this game is full of that. I know. I'm going to a whole lot of things to do. Um, sorry guys. I'm just I'm so stressed out. Um, I'm I'm going to just play this to put uh a guy down there. I just don't want four in my hand cuz Mayor hurt me bad. I can't do it again. You hurt me so bad.
He took the only combat I've been holding a combat card for like every round of the game. Um, you took it? Yeah, I took it. Yeah, I guess I guess this is my best. It was great. It was trade spikes for like seven or nothing. No, I can't go there. Right. Did you have your money back? Uh, I'm going to use the money anyway. I'm be using the money anyway. Um, I could How about that game of root theoretically after this? I could go here. Are you saying I'm not down? Are you calling my and grab this another power? So, I'm going to grab that. He goes into the thing. Yeah, I'm going to grab that desperate power. It's these guys I'm worried about. And I'm also going to flip this over to deploy. There will be call. And everyone has to uh lose one troop.
Yeah. Doesn't have to be from your correct. Nope. Yeah, sadly. But that's how it is. So, where you at? 2 4 6 eight. Okay. See why you limp Imperium better. I don't think I've ever seen you in combat. Yeah, it's it's there's too much of a sway, I feel. Yeah, it's the problem. Combat's a big There's a big part of the community that believes you can't win without worms or if you have worms, you will take the victory home. We'll see if that's the case. I mean, if Mayor closes this, then you know, his worms last round certainly helped. Like that was, you know, a three point a three-point jump. I don't think that's the case. I don't think it's necessary, but um I I understand the argument. I'm going to play diplomacy.
Um, I'm going to go uh I'm going to go here. Water. Going to trash a dagger. And going to go up here. I'm going to get a troop and
that's going to be it. That's all, folks. Yep. What a game, guys. I think these really help cuz I I don't know. These are very good. I don't know. I'm I'm not sure I'm a big fan of this commander mechanic. No, I'm not because the way it's implemented really. Really only one person can play with it. Two people can fight for it. Yeah, but it's not a whole table. Yeah. So, um doing my under asset again. So, since I have a spy here, I can go here. Uh no, you can't because that card does not have that symbol. Blue circle. Yeah. Oh, it does. Yep. Oh, I couldn't see it from here. So, I can You have to remove the spy. Okay. So that made one guy, two here, and then three guys in total. Yep. And up six. Okay. Um, she's at 14. Yep. That's a bummer. Uh, so when you deploy three or more units to the conflict, you could place a spy.
Not as cool since I lost my spy. And then I draw a card. You haven't been going for combat much. I haven't I haven't gotten the cards. All right. And whatever you did, I stole. That's my turn. Yep. Okay. Reveal. I have Oh, you did that one before. One spice. I have two, four, six additional strength. Putting me up at 20. You got a spice. I did. I got that. I have one more cube which doesn't enter the battle. I have nine by power with this included which does get me another spice must flow.
And I'm just going to make sure I don't have any plot cards that are floating around that, you know, will change the game. Sadly not. All right. Okay. You might be taking this to the next round. Huh? There's no other round. This is it. This is the last I I almost never see games end on the last battle. Wait, how how often have you seen this go on? Never. Yeah. This is a unique This is a unique gameplay. Four. Uh, can you put me up on the imperial? The emperor. If you have two more tiles. Yep. One point for red. Get one point. Um, and I only have four and there's no point in buying anything. Uh, six. Still no point in buying anything, right? Yep.
So, yeah. So, for me, I am in the unfortunate situation where I I'm also going to trash this and move up. Yep. Can I high five early? Did you add one? You think I won? No. For me. Oh, I am now like why? What do you see that I don't? So, I have a guy here. I am, however, in the unfortunate situation where I had two moves this round where I drew cards and got nothing I could use. So, I unfortunately have to reveal. Brutal for uh I get a money. Um, and five, which is not even going to not even going to bother spending. So, all right. I had two full rounds where I should have been in combat with all my spice and could I got nothing and then the entry cards I have gave me absolutely nothing. So I'm going to reveal I got my spice. I have an extra dollar. I have two more swords.
No, no, he's blue. And then uh I got another spicer here. Not sure it matters. Tiebreaker. And I have a sword here too. My sword. And then I believe I have nine. Two, four, six, seven, eight. Did you skip your turn again? No, I revealed. Oh, yeah. Wait, what? I know. Oh, cuz I had You didn't have anything left. We have our We have our pushed past 10. Okay. Okay. So, everybody is revealed now. Everybody's revealed. Okay. So, starting with uh who's got the who's got the worm? All right. Boots. Starting with you. Do you wish to play an entry card? No. Jesse, absolutely. Water for five power.
I mean, I might as well play it, right? I get four power. What does that say? Uh, for each So, I get I get each faction that you have at least two. Can you not even play my card? I get four. Let me see my card. Let me show the camera my card. I can't. I have had this in my hand. that I have been I have been reducing down to three cards in my hand since the beginning of the game knowing that this would be very handy now. Three spice anyway for the one time the one time I had four cards in my hand. Mayor steals it from me. So now you just played boots. Do you I'll get three spice. Oh, you have to retreat. Oh, never mind. Yeah. Boot still does not wish to play.
Jesse, do you wish to play? Mayor, do you wish to play? All right, that is it. Jesse does not have six money. I didn't need to spend the I I mean, I needed to for the gamble, but I didn't I didn't need to spend the You get one, but you get this card, which is going to give you another point, which is important. It pairs. Yeah. So, I'm going to get my give him another point. It's big. Yeah. Boots get gets an intrigue. Anybody get spice and you get three spice. You get three spice. That is helpful. That is helpful. All right. Oh, so actually then I would do that. I didn't know that. So I would do this retreat. Oh yeah. Uh so retreat. Yeah. No, that's retreat three and then six. So is that what 16? Doesn't matter. Three more spices. Let's do endgame scoring one person at a time. And let's And Cory, you choose the order based on what you think will be the most intriguing.
Um all right. Based off your book wisdom, how should we score this? Ha. So, I don't get any uh I don't have any extras, unfortunately. Okay. Um let's go to mayor here. So, I get two points from these because I mayor gets two points up to 11. And then I get I don't get from this because I don't have four or more completed contracts. Yep. I do get one point because I have uh four influence or more on a faction track where an opponent has the alliance. No. Uh yes, because you are over here. Yes. So one more point. Where were the first two points from? Uh combat stuff. Wilds that were accomplishing at the end of the game. So give him get him to 12.
Uh Jesse, any endame points? Only one. Only one. If you have at least two spice must flow, gain two spice and one point, which I do. Right. This one would have uh you know gave me a bird or gave me a wild, but I didn't have a bird or a wild. So give don't forget to give yourself two spice and move Jesse up one point. Oh man. Boots just have one. Uh your combats give you No, your combats give you nothing. And mayor wins. Wow. I was behind the whole game. Yeah. No, I don't like the sand worms now. That's true. No, I mean we can't blame the sandworms specifically for you're a bad place.
Sandworms are honestly it was more Duncan Idaho than the sandworms. No, sandworms are rain. No, because if you subtract the three points that you got because or the two extra points because of that sandworm like it was it was it was one extra point. One extra point, but Boots would have no but Boots would have won on the tiebreaker because he had more spice there. that well and also the military in and of itself boosted by the sandworms. It might not have been he might not have won that combat had it not been for the sandorms. So it's actually even deeper. It could it could be a three-point swing. Yeah. Not taking it away from you. It's We're talking about the game. You played an excellent game. I'm I can't believe where you are. Yeah. I can't believe that you're winning on camera for the second time. I made fun of him around arps and he crushed me. All right. Uh I know everyone I know it's late. I know everyone's going to bed. So I just I'm we're going to we're going to give like 10 seconds 10 seconds. 10 seconds. I just want to you know for people that have watched to this point impressions, final thoughts, anything you want to talk about when it comes to uh uprising andor uprising plus um bloodines bloodlines and your thoughts, experience. Would you do this adventure again at this level? Um I'm going to start with Boots, go to mayor, go to Corey, end with me. Sure. So, final thoughts. Uh, something about it does make it tighter. I don't know if it's Bloodlines, but something makes it very tighter. I think we all had a a little bit of AP at the end there, and I know that's kind of an Imperium thing, but
it's stressful. I'm sweating. That's normal. But but all in all, the game I don't know if there's a tighter game sort of in this genre of worker placement and you know with it with the combat and the worker placement. You know there's area control games that are this tight but you know the decision space here it's insane. So, unless you're agreeing, but you know, I'm I'm disheartened, but also just very happy with how it played. Cory and I are both skeptical of these hierlings. We both, however, have not really used them much other than I in I did in my solo, you know, exploration. Did you think or feel satisfied with the experience of using them since you really went down that line? Did it pay off the way you hoped it would? Would you do it again? Uh, yeah. I mean, it's like even the base doing Imperium with the expansions, it there's eight different paths you could go down. You sort of have to pick two. So, I think it's a good path to go down, but you you sort of have to go all in on it, I think. Um, I wasn't as incentivized to go to spaces to get the guys because once you have one, you know, I don't think you need four.
Sure. I mean, unless you want more powers. Yeah. But I was happy with four. Yeah. So, I was really thought I was I really thought I was gonna base my actions around getting these guys, but it really wasn't. Mayor, where are you? What What do you think? Impressions? I think I'm going to retire champion. Um, no. Uh, it's this was a lot. Like, would like would everyone sign up for another This is like a 3h hour plus gameplay. Is it Would we do this again? Are we thinking of not doing four players, not doing a heavy a heavy version of Dune with a heavy expansion included? I want I want to say like if I would play this again, I feel like it would go faster. I feel like because I haven't played this in a while. I haven't played Dune in a minute. I went a little slower than I usually do. I think I think we were all going slow and Cory, myself, and Shira, all playing new, but all fairly experienced with Dune as a whole, had a similar length gameplay at three players. And granted, it was late and we were all kind of just enjoying ourselves. But this is heavier for some reason. I'm not quite sure why. the end of the game, especially for doing Imperium, whether the base one or whether it's uprising, always has right at the end, like where every single decision matters so much and everybody always thinks and thinks and thinks and a little bit of AP, but it's but it's also like calculating if I do this and then they do this and then but then I can do this and and it's like you're trying to think three, four, five steps
ahead. I do feel like this has more of an emphasis on combat than which is which is clearly fixing one of the issues that people had with with it does slow it down because it means you're going through each conflict until the end of the game. not going for people aren't going for the spice must flow to get to No, I mean they they they do kind of but right it's No, because in the in the original there was you know the the rewards for conflict were not nearly as powerful as they are in this game. So Uprising I feel like they tried to kind of rework that to make it a higher emphasis on that. I think one thing I could have done better was gone for more contracts for your because of your end game. I had that the whole the whole time and I didn't do anything with it. I felt fairly limited, too. I mean, as far as a lot of the AP was, if I don't play this perfectly, I'm blocked from half the board. Yeah, four players squeeze squeeze the board down a lot. Yeah. So, we all have it makes the spies so much more valuable and I definitely got a bunch of really good cards for that. I don't think I over overlapped. I didn't have many discard, but I mostly used them to dig into my deck. I don't think I over overlapped for placement at all.
Cory, where mayor is that kind of all your thoughts at the at the moment for Yeah, that's kind of like where I'm at. Like it I feel like the combat did slow down a little bit, but um but it in the end, but yeah, it did I I did enjoy this. It didn't feel that much different if I'm being honest. Corey, you like base game the most anyway. Mhm. Do you need you know like do you need blood, you know, uh what is it? Blood Blood Pack. Bloodlines like like shouldn't arguably your version of this game if you're going to like if you're if you're thinking about what you would scale it down to on your shelf. Theoretically it would be base game in the first two expansions. You know this and an uprising could be owned by a friend and played whenever they want to but maybe not directed by you. I'm not saying you should do that but like do you need like do you feel the desire to continue playing this or have you explored it thoroughly? I mean, look, I I'm never going to object to playing a game of Imperium, whether that's not the question. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, I mean, you're asking as far as owning copies of both or No, it's it's just we've played We've played multiple times now Uprising with the Bloodlines expansion. When we come back, if I was giving you the floor and it wasn't brand new, we weren't exploring it for the first time. Would you choose either of these to be what you put on the table or would you be going back to you know regular Dune Rise of X or you know like uh like what is it immortal or whatever like yeah so the answer is no. Uh this
would not be my first instinct to to grab off the shelf and play it. Um but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate this game. That doesn't mean not the question. Both games are right. So like um but no, I mean this this play definitely solidified for me that I much prefer the original Dune Imperium over uprising. Uprising does do a good job of trying to kind of fix you know combat and make it more um you know make it better. I just there's just a few things about the the rest of the game play that I much prefer from the base games version rather than this. And you know, which I'm writing down so you and I can you and I can discuss that at some point. Yeah. Um but no, so I would you know if somebody were to say to me, we're playing Uprising with Bloodline, I'm in. Yeah. you know, so you know, but if it's if it's me and I'm taking a game off the shelf, it's going to be the base. Yeah.
I I think my You don't need to clean up. I'm going to leave this here. Hopefully Cory will let me keep it for one more day so I can film and I'll hand it back to him on Tuesday. Um I think my final thoughts are I like this a lot. They they they emphasize combat, which I think is worthwhile. I think it was a problem. I know for a fact it was a problem I had with the original game. However, the other problem I had with the original game was deck building. And Rise of X is the thing that helped adjust or or correct for deck building. And I don't feel like they've fixed that in this. While they've added tiles that give me extra abilities and extra things, while they've uh added some new cards, while they've introduced, I think much better leaders for Uprising than than the base game has. More interesting, more dynamic with how you use them. Mhm. I I don't feel like anything in Bloodlines actually improves the core play experience for me. I agree with that.
Outside of just giving me some modules that I find interesting, but this is the second time, and I didn't really think through this on the solo play. So, like this is the second time that I'm consciously aware that while I love deck building, the deck building in this experience was not the cornerstone of my play. And I like Uprising when when the deck building's clicking or I I like Dune in general, but Uprising specifically when the deck building's clicking very very well for me. And it could be the way that I played. It could also just be that the addition of other things to pay attention to draws my attention away from the market, encourages me to, you know, to to invest in Spice Must Flow and get rid of some of those extra buy or directs me towards going down one faction. Like I was telling you, Boots, like I've learned that Uprising highly favors you going towards just one faction as opposed to a combination of what ends up feeling like a broken deck. Um, you know, uprising is still my favorite.
I I don't think Uprising plus bloodlines is is my favorite, though. I think I would I would get rid of these little swordsmen. I I don't think I'd include them. I would keep the leaders for sure. I like this module. I would keep this over the side, the text, and and I honestly, even though it doesn't incorporate perfectly, I think Rise of Vix would still make a showing just because I want more uh I want more options when it comes to the marketplace. Yeah. I mean, that's I every time looking at, you know, the tech module that they made for Bloodlines, like every time a tile came up, like, oh, that's cool. But the tile, but to me, I just feel like the tiles in the in Rise of X are just better. I mean, these tiles definitely help me win. Yeah. But and and they're good. They're they're always good. They're always good ones. There are some kind of meh ones, but usually the ones here are good, but every every time a new one came up and you said what it was, it's like, oh, like Rise of like that feeling of like Rise of X has better ones. Yeah.
I want actively there's people fighting for the Rise of X ones. Here it's a consolidatory prize when you remember to to take it at the top. Yeah. It's been a long game. It's a late night. There's not too many people watching at the very end of this. We're going to do some short videos talking about the experience. Overall, I mean, Dune Imperium is is I still love it. Easily in my top 10. It's been three years since I made a top 10. I wanted to wait until that top 10 shifted enough to justify remaking one. People do it like every single year. I think that's silly. It's got to move and it should be slow moving because if you really cared about the games that you put on there, Dune Imperium would not have been close originally and over the years and over multiple multiple plays and the expansions coming out like this is one of the most played games for this last year and it's one of my favorites by far. Um, so you want to get more games in of it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'd be down.
Thank you for watching. Thank you for being here. Thanks guys for for joining and filming. Boots, I know you're you're out late and it's the first time you're on camera, so I really appreciate you being willing to jump in. Boots, boots, boots, boots, boots, boots, boots, boots. I'm not going to do it again. Just kidding. Cory, like always, it's a pleasure to have you guarding the rules. I know that any mistakes I make are truly your fault. Yeah, I caught myself. And you messed up with him. Oh, yeah. Mayor, I just am glad that uh you know we can help you um leave here feeling, you know, really affirmed. Really? Uh do I get that $20 now for letting him win? Sorry. Okay. May I just want you to walk out of here? I want you to walk out of here feeling like a victor. His name's Mayor, not Victor. Victor. That's true.
You did. You did really good. Great game. Whatever the case though, whatever you do, remember to do the important thing. Put everything in your mouth. My fourmonth-old does it. It's got to be for a reason. We'll see you later. Die.
