0:48 and I'm Stella and I'm Tyrant from people University Welcome to our flight through whether you watch it live or not so scribbly gum is one of the Joey games so when you see in the chat enjoy games that's actually Phil so Phil's in the chat say everyone please feel free to say hello if you watch it live and if you have any questions please don't don't hesitate to ask like don't be shame to us so uh thank you so much for joining us everybody uh again this is a game that was out originally from well it was originally funded through Kickstarter and it was out recently and Phil not only design it but he also developed the game so yeah and published and this is a flip and write game so hello nice to be here thank you so much Phil so uh what we're gonna do is as usual we're gonna give you an overview of the game and we're gonna do a full playthrough and then at the end as always we'll have a giveaway so Phil is kind enough to spare as one of the games for Australia and America or USA I should say very good yeah how are you this morning yeah how's everyone it's like it is a very cold morning in Melbourne I don't know how it is I think Phil's in Sydney this is a very cold morning in Melbourne and it's been raining all night ish cold by Melbourne standards we're getting into winter yeah yeah so yeah this is a cute little

2:21 part of the collection what uh yes so this is one of the uh three inaugural games from Joey games there's a new publishing uh company so we've got uh scribblygum there's also a game called busy beaks and another called past the party foods so these are all uh family difficulty games which have a nice modern gamer element to them as well uh they are all they all come in this art style you can see here in the box and they are all Australian themed it is I just know USA I just want to double check uh Phil say it's called in that other way from Sydney in Melbourne I think they've had a lot of rain oh yeah okay I mean I'm okay but

3:13 so as uh as you may be able to see on the uh chat box and the icons for this video uh scribbly gum is worm and log yes the icons that represent this game so uh this is a uh phenomenon that you'll see in Australia where little uh I think it's where grubs get their eggs laid in tree bark and then they emerge and then they like walk around eating the bark and so in the bark you get this uh honey squiggly scribbly pattern yeah that's what the scribbly gum is so it's where the bugs have eaten all the nutrients so we are doing that that is what we're doing we have our own boards here that we're going to be writing upon and there are eight tiles in this pile here and this tells us where we can draw so for example when we flip up uh left we would start from one of our filled in circles follow a path to the left so it has to be a a path drawn to the left of that hopefully you can see that on the camera they're a little bit faint in here but you'll see there's some lines around here so you would have to pick one to the left you draw the path you would fill in the subsequent Circle and then whatever icon

4:45 you cover is what you eat and you cross that off on your meal tracker yeah so there's three different types of meals I think there are gum nuts leaves and Blossoms but they look a little like pots I always think of them as pots there's also water here which is a wild so you can pick whichever one of these you want to cross off that you'd like as you get towards the more difficult to reach places on the outer edges of the grid some of these were two or even three of that food so the tiles we've got left right up down we've got some optional ones so up down and left right and then there are two that say dotted so there are dotted paths around here again I'll bring this up nice and close you can see some dotted paths they're kind of like shortcuts around the tree so you want to have you want to position yourself effectively to get the best movements out of the tiles that come in whatever order they come and the gameplay is in three rounds and in each round the yep oops sorry so in each round seven of the eight of these will be flipped up the eighth one will be removed so you won't quite know exactly what's going to come up there will be one uh there'll be one that doesn't at the end of each round uh what you're

6:15 trying to do from a round scoring standpoint is diversify so at the end of each round you'll score one point for each set of three different foods that you've eaten to the game so far so if you put that another way any row you complete in round one is ultimately going to score you three points any row you complete in round two will ultimately score twice and so on uh there are some bonus spaces here so you'll see some little arrows on the on these here when you cross that off you get a free up down left or right movement you get three points for each column you completely fill and we have we are playing with the objectives as well so you don't have to include these but we are this is a welcome to style objective race and Score first person to reach it scores the higher number of points anyone else who reaches at school's lower number and the objectives we have fill every Circle in your right hand column uh eat at least 12 nuts and fill in at least uh seven of the rows we play three rounds and whoever gets the most points across the round will be the winner amazing thanks for the explanations here right now I am going back to the chat I've been looking at the chat quickly uh so uh everyone so Joey games is actually the designer AKA
