hello and welcome to board stupid my name is Wayne and I'm Matt and we're here for the hype Factor hype Factor this is our monthly Series where we talk about five amazing games that are coming out in the near future 2024 is our current series well hopefully they're going to come out this year we already know that some of them that we talked in the past delayed a bit but it's all stuff that at least you can buy now so some of them will be kick started just like around the corner some stuff is kickstarted and were in the past and com to retail coming to retail some just retail releases that may be coming by Spiel so but they're all 2024 yeah re releases releases so is but um it's all games that we are really hyped for and uh don't so just want to share with with you guys absolutely and I couldn't be more hyped and the people should be more hyped about this big red button yes so hit the Subscribe button get for the button the hype that I got for this button amazing and uh after you click the Subscribe button make sure you check out the in the link down in the description or using the code here on the screen for a 10% discount on on some shopping if you need to buy some great Gra iic t-shirts geeky stuff or some very nice casual yeah really nice casual we and it's a discount on top of any

other discount you can find so if you've got a three for two or a sale item our code will work on top of that so yes so treat yourself treat yourself and uh once you check out all the nice things that the into the MS I think his uh time to get in hyped all right wait let's start with the first one we're both big music fans and we are FAL so um this is not a festival that I will go normally but cuz we're talking about some Jazzy we're talking about jazz thing but this game looks absolutely amazing tell us more about it does this is a game called bbop by bitewing games and it's not bbop Cowboy not Cowboy bbop this is more maybe he's got that in it it's like the Jazzy Bob right so the the the Jazz uh Vibes and this is a really cool game it's a bitewing games bitewing did some really cool stuff um and the artwork is by weberon Santiago who is a tremendous artist he's also done some other other great work on the great split um and in this game you are going to be essentially running a jazz festival yeah you want to be uh placing uh booking seats and tickets for various patrons making sure that there're next to the right instruments that they want to listen to that that sort of stuff and also making sure that they're next to their friends and family and what this does really cleverly I think or what it looks to do is kind of a two-layered

area control type thing so you're trying to get like I said the instruments together but then also the family together and you'll get points that way um yeah and uh as the description here says you're going to be reserving seats with your tiles and you have fan dice as well so you're rolling the dice and seeing what actually what sort of instrument that they want to be listening to and then placing accordingly it looks really cool the artwork looks phenomenal the boards looks amazing it's like literally like a a festival like a festival so it looks like it's um two-sided as well because there like a green side and like a like an orangey side as well so it looks like there may be two different Maps um you're going to be competing to claim feature tokens and build the largest families of dice while triggering stage performances at the right time so what I think that might mean is making a decision Point as to when you want to maybe score based on when you've got everything together could be yeah it could be something like that but you've also got uh a bit of dry sta dry stating dice drafting in there as well uh and yeah as it says here it features two unique Festival boards with variable setups this looks absolutely amazing the artwork looks insanely nice uh because webson is a fantastic artist anyway the board looks interesting the mechanisms look interesting and it looks like it's very it's very new New Concept and um yeah it's looks like a unique approach to some stuff that we already know and we both love AIT very majority exact and this plays into um there's been a few music themed games that are coming out this year it seems to be seems like it's coming back as um a yeah

it's really nice it's nice I'm here for it Matt we've had some jazz yeah what have we got next it's got to be related to music right yeah we have postapocalyptic buttles and post no jazz in the post apocalypse mate no no no no um so this this is one I'm a literally going a little bit out of the um 2024 but hopefully it's going to be 2024 are they saying 2024 it they kind of kind kind of but I'm I'm struggle to believe it um uh what I'm talking is is a game that I'm Mega hyped about because I really love the uh thep and um I'm talking about the Genesis um the Genesis uh back in the days I'm talking about early 2000 was this very interesting um RPG so it was literally pen and paper uh role playing um and it it's all about this like post-apocalyptic um here 2,200 uh for once not based not set up in the US but set up in Europe that was already like something like okay that's that's really cool and um apart from the art works and everything looks looks amazing but basically you got humanties basically to the to the brink of of collapse um you got the um people are divided in 13 different Cults uh each one will have certain certain

specification Cent will give your character this or that um and uh yeah and throw in the mix a little bit of aliens okay yeah why not so aliens arrived on the H and kind of like mix their na with some of some um some of the animals so they created this kind of like um Primal like very very aggressive Beast so it's a it's a is a it's a very cool word and and the things are the artwork is probably one of my favorite style all this black and white with dots of red colors yeah it's kind of like Sin City that sort of thing yeah exactly yeah yeah yeah yeah um the the RPG died they tried to there's been a second release but they haven't they haven't um brought up anything for the last probably 10 10 years something like that um uh but um this year with Simon Simon um kind of like not both thep BB they're making collaboration with the guys that at the moment own dips that is a company called six glass of boders or six small B okay yeah um uh and yeah and they're coming out with this um the Genesis Clan Wars there is a an asymmetric semi Cooperative tactical Skirmish game so it is a one versus whole um so you're going

to have one one guy playing the bad guy and and the rest of the team are going yeah um it's going to be a campaign SL scenario so you play the the single scenarios or you can play a campaign um but it looks Mega interesting it's coming out on Kickstarter literally like next week probably while this video is up it will be probably be avable be it will be available and um yeah it looks absolutely fantastic is a one versus all is one of the things that I really like because it bring me back a lot of like those DND D RPG RPG kind of like type things exactly and this is the fact that they making it a one versus so with a guy playing the DM is bringing back all that RPG element that is that's crucial to this um to thep so um I'm really looking forward to this and um yeah hopefully it's going to get on the table as soon as possible that's I love the IP cool um next on the list we got something about like a 100 Mana or something like that yeah we've got weird word Mana so I love Cooperative game and actually my skew for coopertive Cooperative games these days tends to be towards the heavier side of C games recently got a couple of uh plays of Robinson cruso of the new edition absolutely tremendous loved it um and this looks like it is a yeah much

heavier Cooperative game than something like pandemic or horrified or something like that and it's got a really interesting kind of rotating board type mechanism which we've seen in a couple of games it's been it's been a thing abely well we got age of RS of course we started seeing a lot of like rotating and it's really cool I do really like the um um the mechanisms where you change the board I think it makes it really really interesting exactly very very replayable as well um yeah so H as per here the manor is a mysterious and magical place place where rooms and Pathways between them shift as time progresses so this is where it gets really interesting what took my fancy was that the game features a temporal mechanic so each time a player or the fame wants to takes an action time moves forward in the game and then connections between the rooms will shift through these rotating rings on the outside so the Mana changes connection the um hogwards stairs yeah right so like the setup of the Mana changes as you walk through that's cool that sounds super awesome um yeah you've got your own deck of cards as well so is very card- based and then The Fame Monster will also have their own set of cars run by an AI uh and that will do its own thing as well and you need to defeat The Fame Monster Before Time runs out or before the F monster completes

their own okay so it's a battle against time trying to make your one or any way to do it before the absolutely and the F moner will have their own condition which would be their own thing that they're trying and there's lots of different monsters that you can set up as part of the scenarios uh and then the characters are all asymmetric as well okay characters you can play gives it a little bit of um um what's the name um betrayal yeah Little House on little bit a little bit that sort of variety but much more I say like a like deck of card B um the production it's fantastic that's like acrylic standies and I love acrylic standies yeah this looks really really cool I mean um I didn't know much about it until we started doing some research for this is definitely going up on the I absolutely yeah go check this out weirdwood Mana right Matt we fought our way out of the manor yeah but now we've got a trial yeah we got the trial of the Gods Tri of the Gods is the just announced game uh from ludus Magnus um it looks cool as hell and in these scales we're talking about the ancient G hell but no um Tri of the Gods um um the guys just show like there is a demo that you can play now there is a big convention in Ealy now for ball games and Magnus is there and they they show up this um this new game it's basically the story of the Argonauts Jason and the

argonut it's one of my favorite movies from like back in the day yeah it's such a great like stop time it has that stop time animation or stop motion animation it's at absolutely amazing and it's like all that Greek mythology is incredible and this basically um from from from our understanding it's going to be a deck building game um where you got then on the map you move on through the different Island and a different a different trial that you need to using your cards um I know that going around you get more argon outs that they can do more trial and all things so um it's really really interesting um I'm a bit upset that L smugness is not going to be at ukg in a couple of weeks cuz otherwise we'll have to try but we'll try to get our hands on this one because it looks absolutely fantastic and knowing how ludus marus do their games we expect nothing but greatness yeah the production will be amazing uh it'll be an relatively easy design to get into and the worst case scenario is we're going to go and get see this at Spiel and uh and uh probably grab a copy so go check out trial of the Gods all right we are at the last game uh for the list for this month hype Factor um uh we going to talk about um um a game that is uh Mega good is an amazing game is a city building game and of course we're talking about Foundation of Rome amazing

game the problem that we got with Foundation of Rome is the fact that the box is this big and and you got all the minis absolutely fantastic minis for each one of the building proba not necessary though a little bit unnecessary little bit unnecessary I think for the game I mean if if you want it like you know I like the shiny shiny you love the shiny shiny man you love the shiny shiny fair but I do understand why a lot of people like this is too much yeah I do 100% understand why so I'm really pleased that the game that we're talking about is going to be something little more manageable we're talking about foundations of metropolis now foundations of Rome is by Emerson matsi and as is foundations of metropolis it is the same game for all intents and purposes with a different theme on it and of course a different production yeah so foundations of metropolis is going to be tiles as opposed to these like crazy plastic Min big 3D buildings everywhere but essentially the game is going to be the same and here's what I'm loving about this is Emerson matsui's design is so elegant and so good it doesn't matter like you don't need all those no no no no that's that's why we say that Foundation of rum has got is a little bit like it's amazing it's beautiful and you're like oh this is really cool but I don't think it's necessary and Emison matsui's designs you think about the century series it's very elegant very simple production and this is going to work the same way where instead of the

big buildings you basically have yeah like I said tiles and foundations of metropolis foundations of Rome do a really great thing you do like in lots of classical Euro design you do one thing on your turn then it passes to the next player so it's very Snappy very quick it has a cascading Market which we like where you're going to be getting um plots to then put your buildings in it has kind of Vibes of things like big boss or CH or Chinatown where you have you know your own personal map though instead of a central map yeah you're building your own City your own City your own Metropolis uh and that is going to be super awesome and I'm very excited to be able to get hold of a version of this cuz I didn't want to spend like so much money on the foundations of yeah exactly that that was one of my point is the the price point um Foundation of Rome costs quite a lot because the production is is insane it's insane yeah um while this one is supposed to be like a more like sling down version that everybody can enjoy cuz everyone can buy it everyone can enjoy it and the game is basically going to be exactly the same as far as I understand so and um it's it's a good move it took them a little bit uh a few years but hey um thanks to Foundation of ROM being such a great game they know they can scale it down and see and still sell um a lot of copy of this one that we'll probably going to buy anyway yeah arane WS uh I think have made a great move for this and I am 100% going to buy copy and I think it's going to sell

bucket loads so yeah that's the last one on our list for this month's hype Factor so mattt it's another five amazing games it just doesn't stop train the hype train never ends there's always something else TR never ends there's too many ball games to buy and we haven't we we barely touch the surface now we've been doing this series for four um um they're just like two many games and still we're all waiting for the whatever's going to come out from um from Spiel that is when the prob we have to do two high Factor episode for months now yeah we'll see we'll see how we get on but there will definitely be one next month so if you do continue to enjoy this series and you like this video you know what to do give us a big thumbs up if we you think we deserve it I think we might do hit the big red button it's so helpful you have no idea how much it helps us uh and check out the rest of our content Matt is there anything else check out the inm link down in description using or use the code here on the checkout for the 10% discount on a lot of uh very cool stuff and aart from that yeah I think it's stay hyped and we'll catch you again real soon ciao
