Thematic elements
- Environmental regeneration and restoration
- South America
Comparison games
- Ark Nova
- Zoo Tycoon
Mechanics (from transcript analysis)
- action selection — Each card has two different actions to choose from. So, if you choose this top action, you pay the resource, get that tile, place it out, or you can flip it upside down and do the action at the bottom.
- Hand Management — Everything hinges around your deck of seven action cards. You've got two action cards relate to the rainforest, two that relate to the grasslands, and two that relate to shrublands, and one which is kind of like a campsite card, which is basically harvesting. And so, you're going to be playing these cards one at a time on your turn, triggering the action.
- Resource Management — The shrubland cards, which is the cheapest type of biome to build... you only need like one water, one soil to build one.
- Set Collection — Building a food chain through the use of playing different cards and having different species out in your tableau area is really crucial for getting what you want. And so I really like in this game how you've got to have like a plant, you've got to have an insect species, you've got to have wildlife, and you've got to have a predator.
- Tableau Building — It's got that tableau building effect, but everything feels really cohesive.
- Tile Placement — Players are going to be expanding three of the different biomes, and there's one subbiome called the wetland... The rainforest biome, they only come in singular tiles... The grassland biome which comes as a domino tile. Two hex's joined together... The shrub land which comes in these ginormous triominoshaped tiles.
- Variable player powers — Players are going to be starting with a playerboard that has two sides to it. One side is the standard side... or the advanced side, which gives you uh the ability to re-trigger an instant card you've played earlier in the game.

Quotes (from this video)
- It's probably one of the most thematic Euros I've played.
- So, the synergy in this game comes down between, you know, do you just lean into one particular habitat type or do you try and juggle a few at the same time and then how you lay those tiles out because you don't need to place them adjacent to other pre-existing tiles, but you're incentivized to do so because of the uh cheapening cost factor.
- Building a food chain through the use of playing different cards and having different species out in your tableau area is really crucial for getting what you want.
- The best way to describe Reworld is if you've played Ark Nova, which is a very long game. And if you've played games like Zoo Tycoon, also by the same uh company, this feels like a more condensed version of that.
- And I think I would definitely reach for Rew over Ark Nova and over Zoo Tycoon if I want to get the experience of those two sorts of games blended together in one.
- I think it is a very well finessed game.
