Mechanics (from transcript analysis)
- action selection — On your turn, you will take actions indicated by the yellow bar. There are three actions overall: move, explore, and wait.
- Area Movement — Whether you choose to move by timeline or by ticket, anytime you move, you're not limited to moving a single link. Instead, you pick your single mode of transport and move as far as you want until either you choose to stop or until you enter a location with a location token or a checkpoint.
- Hand Management — Each player draws two objective cards to hand and tickets based on turn order.
- Pick-Up and Deliver — Players must forge their path using the transport that's available at the time or stumping up for tickets as they make their way.
- Route Building — Cities on the map are connected by six different types of routes. There are five standard types. Red for roads, yellow for railways, blue for ships, green for balloons, and purple for airship. The sixth type is the black route, known as a secret route.
- Set Collection — Score each column of the experiences section of your board, scoring one, three, or nine points for having one, two, or three matching experiences.
- Time Track — Every action you take will have a time cost indicated by this calendar. This cost will be between zero and four. Each time you take an action, advance your time marker that many steps around the track.
- Variable player powers — Each character also has their own special power which unless otherwise stated will count as one of the types of action for the purposes of your two action minimum per turn.

Quotes (from this video)
- And today we'll be teaching you how to play the amazing journey game designed by Yama Ha and Lorenzo Silva and published by Horrible Guild.
- It's the late 1800s, and you and your other animal friends are doing what eccentric rich people did in that time. Challenging each other to a race around the world in 80 days.
- The route is now set. Players place their second pawns in the start finish city and will have to travel from there to the yellow flag city to the red flag city and then back to the star finish line to complete their amazing journey.
- On your turn, you will take actions indicated by the yellow bar. And while there are several different variations within the same action, there are three actions overall: move, explore, and wait.
- The second option is to move by ticket. You can spend one ticket from your hand, discarding it to move by the matching type of transport, or instead you may discard any two tickets from hand, matching or non-matching to move by whichever mode of transport you want.
- This is where you gain all of your experiences on the journey and most of your points.
- Your other option is to wait in line for tickets. Draw one new ticket to hand and advance 2 days. It's the 1800s. There's no Sky Scanner. You have to wait for the next appointment to open up with a travel agent.

- It's like a long-term rental. As soon as these companies decide, h we're
- If you were at East, you didn't miss anything.
- Happy birthday, mama.
- It's always been an engine builder and it's always been a relaxing kind of game.
- My wife can now fall asleep to it, which is a new thing, which is great, which is fantastic. Which is good. Uh, it's just it's just more accessible and less of a puzzle than it used to be.
- Judge Vance, who many of you might not know, but if you watch Dice House for a long time, back in the day, the Chief, Bart, the Chief, who used to be a board game breakfast contributor, he started a show called Ham Tag, which was a riff on our top 10, half as many, twice as good.
