we're going to be doing some things different in 2024 yes we are yes we are we're going to be making changes to the show yes so all those things you've heard for the past few years we're going to change it up so we hope you guys will ride with us and stick with us through the changes we hope you like all the changes we're making because we want to keep the show fresh and that's what we're going to do this year so stick with us in 2024 yeah cuz change is good change is always good cuz we got a lot of things coming up family we talking about live shows on Sundays yes we breaking down we going to do some live shows yes so you can talk to us and we can talk to you directly and we're making changes topg voices as well so be sure to stick tuned to the end of the show we're going to tell you more about that and we got a lot of changes to this show yes yes and then we got a new show that's coming out we tested it last year but you're going to be seeing it on a regular basis in regular basis yeah we going to do some things family so make what's going on this week all right so what's what's happening in the hobby girl it's some stuff going it's some stuff now first off now you know how I love my tiny epic game yes you know that I do cuz you're mad with me when I do my you know when they do the crowdfunding I have to jump on board family I love the tiny epic I've only missed like maybe one of them that's it now gambling games who does it okay in cooperation with the op you know we know the op yes the art art project we love that one now they're going to do a crowdfunding campaign like you know I swear gambling games they do a tiny epic every other day pretty much every other day pretty much but this time they they they kind of messing with me oh they messing with me stala they going to do a tiny epic Game of Thrones now you know how how I love my Game of Thrones even though season 8 the last one was horrible I'm still mad at that one but but I'm excited okay how they going to put the Game of Thrones cuz I love it you know even though the dude writing a book you know George RR Martin do the last book but anyway I I'm really excited cuz Scott Ms who has done mostly all the tiny epic games he's designing it it's going to be one four player so it's solo Game of Thrones solo so I am excited and ready to see what they can do okay I'm ready to see what they can do so I'm I'm really excited now now this is interesting and strange I'm going to celebrity news now now Nick Cannon current girlfriend Bri tyy M okay she revealed on Christmas that she was giving her love Nick Cannon a gift oh yes it's a custom made Monopoly game called canopo canopo canopo and on the front of the cover of canopo in the center is Nick and then around him is his 12 kids oh yes so uh they I guess the game is him and his kids in Monopoly in Monopoly so did Monopoly sign off on this cuz you know they're giving games everywh I know they're giving games to to everybody they doing a game on everything you know is this a monopoly sanction game or just something that they had custom I think it's probably I I hope Monopoly just kind of say no don't do that I don't think they would do canopo canopo no we don't need canop out there we don't need that that's that's a personal thing no that's a personal thing but they like boy games it's a boy game they like boy games I guess hey that's a positive we we going to go with that we going to go that as positive we going to go we going to go with that cuz that woo family all right but that's all I got that's all well you know what this week we're going to talk about our top 10 anticipated games for 2024 okay I'm ready for that2 for we got 10 good ones want to share with you and hopefully you'll anticipate those games as well so get your coffee you know get comfortable and buckle up cuz we are in for the ride here we go yes yes seil Affair games is on a quest to make super amazing games that minimize Randomness and reward player Savvy their big claim to fame is their legacy style Dungeon Crawler Gloom Haven and other games in the universe such as Gloom Haven jaws of the lion founders of Gloom Haven Gloom Haven forgotten circles and their latest entry into the world Frost Haven which is an even bigger Adventure seil Affair games has expanded into new and exciting spaces such as Comics video games and audio bring the fantasy to life with seil Affair [Music] games all right we are back and we are going into the heart of the episode yes yes yes yes our top 10 anticipated games of 2024 I'm excited me too I'm excited about it now the first one is aqua and it is uh it's done by sidekick games but it's going to be published by the op yes and we really enjoy the Op games yeah now there are two Aqua out there one we're talking about about it's Aqua biodiversity in the oceans yes yes that's the one we talking about and I'm excited about it cuz the you know the Vince dto art yes that's straight up Detroit Detroit yes let me show you let me show you what they got a little bit on that o look at that it is beautiful look at that that's that's beautiful it looks like an aquarium almost yes it does and that's what attracted me to this game you know I love colorful things it's very colorful the board is very pretty you know so I I think it's going to be a fun to play yeah now it says Aqua is plays over 17 rounds I kind of need that rounds I need that uh on your turn you must take a new Coral towel from the market and add it to your Reef then you may also attract animals to your ecosystem if you create the uh correct patterns of coral I I like that now I'm excited about that Family what I really love is the last line it says Aqua invites you to dive into the beauty and wonder of the ocean delivering an incredible variety of gameplay experiences for the whole family I mean that just sounds like something I want to play right now look at that family look at that look at that art look at that art there woo colorful yeah I can do that oh yeah I can do that that's some beautiful art right there yeah I like that and let's see a little bit see that's what that's what I like about it yeah so yeah we're excited about this one can't wait for it to come out can't wait yes all right so now this is let's go to Japan now we did a preview of this uh in the with the Prototype did so I'm excited to see the final production me too and it was a lot of fun where you're a tourist and you're traveling around Japan and you're going to different tourist uh locations I thought it was really interesting it was really interesting I mean it was really well thought out the way you know you're going to plan your trip you going plan your trip to Japan yes and I really am excited about it I really am so it looks I don't know now they I saw the car you know taking a cooking class if I'm going to Japan I don't know if I'm take you might want take a cooking class no cuz I want to go eat now this is this is from AEG and it's one to five players yes and the designer John uh Josh Wood now the deal with this one is that Josh was trying to take a trip to Japan and the pandemic hit yes so he he got mad and he said I'mma design a game since I can't go to I can't go I'm design a game to show that I how I planned go to Japan and then we have let's go to Japan let's go to Japan yes so and it looks really cool your Tableau building that's what you're doing I mean we had a lot of fun you know preview of it so I I think it's going to be a big hit in 202 and Art's really cool too it kind of really goes into the culture Japan and there's diversity in the art which I think is great yes yes it is so yeah it's a really pretty game and very strategic too very strategic so yes that's number two let's go and you know the one thing when they just put let's go and then to Japan that means other gamees coming oh yeah it can be let's go to London let go to Australia let's go you be I'm excited I'm excited all right number three on our list Mayan curs and you know U Daniel from our preview team did a preview of Mayan Cur in 2023 and I'm I'm excited about it I'm excited I mean it's a big it's a big footprint now oh yes it's a big footprint I'mma show y'all fam let me show you so now that's a big one that's a big footprint yeah that's a pretty big game that's big it's a big footprint but it's so it it's you know Daniel showed that it's a lot of fun and the publisher is crazy like a box yes that's instead of a crazy like a box yes and this is coming out this year and it really looks uh really interesting and it's one to six players yeah now it says it's a group of uh uh archaeologist just make the headline yes you know after decot in an ancient May manuscript they found the location of a secret temple in the jungles of El Salvador the document revealed the existence of an unknown secret City and that's when you got to run through that City now it says slide stone slabs and race to create a path to Discovery uh it says uh discover uh monuments I don't know that word right there and perhaps even Ascend the temple to view the ancient city and and let me tell you what Daniel showed is a lot of stuff a lot of stuff going on and and you got stuff ready to come crush you you know like those slabs yeah you know what it just goes to show that uh being an archaeologist is it's dangerous it's dangerous it's dangerous and the box art really nice I like the box art really like that kind of that Indiana Jones Indiana Jones yeah yeah all right so that's Mayan curse yes so the next one go up yeah now this one I'm excited about me too I'm excited about this one just so pretty the box is gorgeous you know it's called photo tour North America yes it's one to five players and the publisher is what is that Tim uh timov timu timu publish yeah and let me tell you the the art on the box just says it all it really does it's really cool and what it looks like is kind of like a tableau building it it it is a tableau and and and you know what I love about it is just they look at all the nature they they capture those beautiful pictures and just the beauty and essence of North America taking pictures yes and they did a great job I mean the artwork is just topnotch so it's something you want to play you want to see it on your table you want to look at the different cards so and it says it's an exciting game allows you to travel and take stunning phot photographs of beautiful places in the US and Canada so it looks really cool and it's an engine building it's an engine builder it's engine building so I'm really EXC about that I think it's going to be interesting it kind of has to me that essence of parks or Trails because you're kind of being outside I mean some of the things are monuments and things it has that feeling to me and I was really interested I love playing Parks so that made me interested in this just because it kind of made me think of that yeah and look at the transportation you got plane you're in a car I think that's a bus not a bus so you on a bus so you you really you really move around North America oh it's going to be immersive I tell you you're going to be really trying to travel so yeah that is number what is that number photo tour North America all right so next one it is called Fage Fage which is cheese now now look at the box art first off that's that's cheese the world cheeses it's a bunch of cheese I like cheese okay it's a bunch of cheese now this is coming from road to infamy games and also it's one to four players yes so I'm I'm I'm interested you're a cheese maker you're a cheese cheese maker oh and it's a lazy yeah the board is a lazy sus it turns and and I love the little pieces that like little triangle wedges you know of cheese and I I think it's just well done it's very cute to look at I can't wait to get my hands on it yes I'm I'm excited cuz you know you got the loading docks and restaurant I mean I'm excited and the components look pretty good components look great and you're in France you're in France family cuz you're making fromage you're in France yeah fromage yes fromage fromage fromage I like I like saying fromage and you got look at the cows the cows even look Frenchy they don't the cows look French they do like cows look French I like that there some cows there a goat you got different types of cheese you you got the goat cheese in front you got cheese from cow milk you don't have cheep key you get you can get cheese from sheep yes really sheep goat and cows yes okay okay I'm I'm interested then all right so let's go to number six number six oh my silia yes now this is interesting family cuz it's going to be a couple of mushroom games coming out this year but I like this one yeah you said you like this I like this one better than the other one and this one's from splitstone games a one to four player game and I thought it was really interesting the way you you're building this fungi Kingdom with mushrooms yes you're Building A fungi kingdom yes yeah that's that's on the back of the box there look at that see look at the pictures I mean that's just great yeah look oh that's okay that is a beautiful even though I'm not into mushrooms per the way they look but that picture is beautiful they they really found one that's colorful and kind of captures the ESS essence of mushrooms now now I like just regular mushrooms chop them up and put them in stuff you don't something like that you know but I do you know in salad and stuff you know I like I like that so but I heard somebody said you know mushrooms are nothing I'm like wait I like I like mushrooms don't do that you know look at now that's pretty cream of mushroom soup that's mushrooms in you cook with that though I do cook with you do cook with that with that so that's cool oh so that looks pretty there I think it's a really nice looking game I'm very interested in it kind of abstract okay A little abstract I can I can go with it I can go now that you said you want this one I did yeah this is this is my choice okay that's your try all right so marelia yeah marelia all right so this is number seven we coming up it's flow it's uh yeah and it's uh Fantasia games is going to bring this out and one of four players and it just look at the art y'all I mean come on that's cute it is cut see that's cute and uh you know someone's involved in it's Johnny pack we know him yes so I'm really interested and and I want to go with it cuz you know it's kind of giving me that feel of endless winter yes very much so but on a cuter level on yeah endless winter was more to hardcore look at that's that takes up a lot of space on the table a lot of table and space that's a lot of taable space family that's that's going to kind of stretch us a little bit oh okay so you're letting the cuteness fool you you think oh it's cute it's going to be small no it's cute and huge but it's beautiful though look at it family this is cute it is that is really really cute I like that I like that that is I'm excited about this one too I'm excited about that one yeah so uh let me get a little bit more information yes one to four players and look kind of medium weight so it's not going to be too bad yeah I'm excited and it says explore the everchanging iceberg islands and discover long lost Secrets sell the windy uh waves in search of sunken treasure and daring Adventure all right and then fight for uh fearsome monsters on your journey into the frozen heart of the ice or kick back and enjoy some kelp noodle soup yeah I was good when they said I was all good then they said Kel they said they lost me why can't ask for chicken they don't got no chicken got no chicken family have SEALS or some seal noodle soup you want seal I don't but I'm saying that's what you probably eat oh they give you some shark I had shark one time family I can do some shark don't do that either I can do some shark now it okay so it says uh flow features a unique region to region movement system that allows Heroes and cellos to navigate the realm with ease only the natural shapes of the ice and seeds are used to determine movement so you never need to count squares on a grid oh that's interesting that's interesting family like okay I'm I'm interested I am I am really really it really just looks like something we would want to play yes it's one of ours it's something you know something we enjoy endless winter yes we did so yeah I'm sure we'll enjoy this one too now this one family it surprised us it came out of nowhere yeah this is our number eight yes and that's Katon new energies and this is a mod day Kat not back in the day you know like we we be doing medieval times and all that stuff this is Kat and and that really got me cuz I was like oh W they going to do something that's modern so I love the way it looks uh so it's three to four players and there's the box art there look at that yeah a round board round board I love that and look at the different player pieces they want the new bread instead of we got bread instead of week bread so the bread's already bread made cuz it's modern times we still got brick though you still got to have brick your houses Bri and now the Sheep is not the Sheep no more it's the manufactured the wo yeah that's wonderful and then now you got light now cuz you know we we need light now electricity got I think going the or is really still I think this is going to be great cuz we got the Modern Day stuff now I cannot wait to play this one and you know I heard some people say you know online already is that you know I'm tired of Katon I was tired of it but this might bring me back I'm like we never left well we never left we were never I mean I'd love to play it more often than we do but this one is so unique I'm excited about it that they went modern I think it's yeah I think it's great and uh it says it's the 21st century and Katon is at a Crossroads today katans need energy to keep Society moving and growing but pollution is wrecking Wrecking havoc on the island so they they you know de us modern problems so it says Katon new energies is a standal game rooted in classic Katon mechanisms of harvesting trading and building new gameplay elements include power plants energy tokens and environmental events that add new strategies and stories to a familiar Foundation I cannot wait that is interesting I cannot wait want to play I want to play that cuz they got now dealing with power plants and stuff it's modern I think it's I think that's great I think it's genius I think it's the way that they need to go yeah to get people back into k mean they've done the sea they've done space it's time theyve done soccer yes they did they've done soccer family they' done soccer time to come into the 21st Cent 21st century so I'm I'm excited about this one I'm excited about that all right number nine is field harmonics okay and it's from Arcana games yes and it's one four players now when we saw the art cuz let me tell you what it it says step into the role of a space Orchestra manager right then I said St not going to like it cuz it's space it's space well that's what you thought but then after I saw the board yes the board is so unique and I think it also said it's a worker placement game it is a worker that combines music and sci-fi In and Out of This World Experience send your Orchestra on missions to perform on different PL planets uh strategically acquire new talented musicians and train them to reach their full potential so let me show you how it looks family now this this is what got us right here this what got me this is what got us right here image got me where you set your little Orchestra up and you put your little pieces in there and make them kind of look like an orchestra that's what got me to okay I want to do this okay now that that's really interesting got two different little uh musicians and different instruments and you put them in your Orchestra pit and I I think that is really that's clever I think so too that's why I want to try it here's the board wow well that's most of the board that's most of the board yeah that's the main board but that's not your player board no that's the player board is cool but the the main board is I think that's where you go to the different planets yeah and you know you got to get musicians and stuff it's work of placement so I'm excited about that too me too I'm excited about that it's interesting it is yeah it's interesting so yeah it's feel harmonic harmonic harmonics in space yes in space yeah and last but not least on our list we can not forget this one cuz you know we really love family games and this is a family game and it is called Cafe barus and it is by our friends at ktbg yes they just announced this not too long ago and it's from Roberta Taylor the same person that made creature conference so this is kind of still in that creature conference universe that they still you know stretching out and it looks so interesting and it's a two to four player game I mean of course you know ktbg they always have the cutest little artwork they keep it colorful they keep it fun and even when it's fun don't let that fool you cuz some of these games that they have they look cute on the outside but they are tough on the inside they I'm not sure how tough or how difficult Cafe bars is going to be but I know for one thing the cover is cutest can be and I love the little cafe bars on the cover it's cute so this says everyone in town is looking for a cozy little cafe where they can relax with a good book something to nibble on and of course some delicious caffeinated beverages now each turn you play a card from your hand either buying it as food drink or Decor item for your cafe or serving the customer on the card and earning money if you meet a customer needs completely they become a regular and earn you extra ra uh in game points so that's really and I just call the little animal the wrong name Cafe bars that's the name but it's c bar it'ss yeah it's it's it's copy bars which is the animal oh yeah that's what's on the cover yeah copy bars yeah and it says here it's a card it's a card drafting Tableau building game uh brought to you by the creative team six-year-old games that are currently in rotation yes cuz we have so many new games and stuff going on right now but there are some games that we love that came out the year you born Milo years ago we love them we love them so we'll give you a list of games that we love from 6 years ago now we don't play them right now it's not because we don't want to play them it's just that we don't get enough time well you know what actually one of them on our list is in rotation and that's the first one on our list that is downforce downforce we still play that yes we do yes downforce cuz that's a great game to introduce folks to this game it's a great Gateway game we love it it is a racing betting game that is so easy for families to get get into and love so yeah we we like to show that one and we do play that one we do play that it's from restoration games and then the next one on our list is code names duet now you love that one yes I do I think it's a fun game I love codeen names anyway it's just another very uh variation of it so I love it yeah because in that one it's two people playing against the game yeah so it's kind of Co-op kind of Co-op it is not Co-op it's a little Co-op family yes it is well the next one on our list is one of your favorites yes Gloom hav Gloom Haven from setha fed games love it love it love love it oh I remember when we got that game I thought you were totally insane yes that box was so huge they're they're all big frost Haven Gloom they all be I know but back then you know we hadn't become our family Place game and when that came into the house I'm going my husband's lost his mind yes I mean I think a lot of people said that when they saw that box they're like what in the world is that thing I can kill somebody but when it came out I remember how bad you wanted it and when you got it you were just over the moon I was over the moon I just love it I love the world that you know they created and I still love it yes I do another one we played quite a bit when we first got it because Grant loved it and that is the Quest for El Dorado and Grant loves that game yes I love it too I love it it's a really good game Ryan ksia the evil bow tie man love him but he's still evil but really uh that game we played the stuff out of it you know uh Grant would beat us yes Grant would beat us this racing game you're trying to get to the end first and and basically you know you basically you know it's kind of like you know card Drafting and you know uh card management and we really and Tableau building and we really did like that one we really like that one we did and the last one on our list from 2017 is sagata Sada yes yes so those are five games that came out we got to talk a little bit about we do love CU we love D Andrew the designer and Floodgate game yes and making those beautiful stained glass looking Windows the ATI now it's kind of a Gateway too that people can get into it a little bit you know and I I really think that that could really bring you know dice rolling and and you know I mean and you kind of like doing a little puzzle it's it's puzzly but it's on the good side of puzzle yes it is yes I do love that game yes I do yes I do all right so those are our five games that came out in 27 or 6 years ago from the date you were born and so we love those games like again we don't play them all the time like we would love to they are still games that we really hold dear and they are great at addition to our collection I want to thank Mandy Nick and Milo for giv us that question we love y'all we do do guys so much
